Abstract:

Ardita is considered as one amongst the vata nanatmaj vyadhis described in Ayurvedic classics. Ardita is a condition caused due to the unusual functioning of vata dosha which results in loss of functioning of one half of the face. It can be correlated with Bell's Palsy from modern perspective. This disease proves to be disturbing from a functional and cosmetic point of view. A 27year old male patient came to OPD with a chief complaint of difficulty in closing right eye, angle deviation of the mouth towards left, difficulty while eating, unable to whistle as well as puffing of cheeks, drooling of saliva, etc. from 20 days. History and examination lead to the diagnosis of Bell's Palsy. Consid- ering the signs and symptoms, the patient was treated as per the ayurvedic line of treatment for Ardita. The patient was admitted and ayurvedic treatment (Panchakarma + Oral medications) i.e. Nasya, Pindasweda, Kukkutanda sweda, Akshitarpan was given for 21days. The patient had great relief with marked improvement in the above said symptoms. Thus, Ayurveda is fruitful in treating patients with Ardita. Abstract:

Arditais a medical condition causing the Vakratha[deviation] of Mukha ardha and leads to facial asymmetry and malfunction. It occurs due to aggravated Vatadosha. It has been included in Vataja Nanatmaja Vyadhi. It can be correlated to facial palsy in modern which carries similar complaints to Ardita of deviation of half of the face with sensory & motor impairment on the affected side. Acharya Sushruta and Charaka mentioned Nadi sweda in the Ardita chikitsa sootra. The modified form of Nadisweda itself is Ksheera Dhooma. As there is a weakness of Facial nerve in Bell’s palsy and the same moist heat is indicated in Bell's palsy by modern medicine. This effect is ensured by Swedana and it has the capacity to stimulate the nerve centres and increases the tactile sensibility. It is seen that Ksheeradhooma is having good efficacy on Ardita. Abstract:

Ardita is a condition that develops due to excessive aggravation of Vata and causes distortion of face, con-sidered as one among the eighty Vata Nanatmaja Vyadhi in Ayurveda. Bell’s palsy, the paralysis of facial nerve also affects the movement of facial muscles and shows similar symptoms, hence, can be correlated with the disease. A 39 years old Hindu male patient approached to Kayachikitsa OPD (Out Patient Depart-ment) who was suffering from complaints of deviation of lips towards right side, difficulty in closure of eyes and speech x 20 days. He was clinically diagnosed as Ardita (Bell’s palsy) and managed through Pan-chakarama & Palliative treatment. The patient got complete relief in all symptoms with appreciable chang-es. Aim: to manage the Ardita through Panchakarma and Palliative treatment. Methodology: In the present study both Panchakarma and Palliative management were selected for the management of Ardita in 39 years old married male patient for 7 days and follow up treatment was also recommended. Results: The patient improved on 8th day as the symptoms were almost recovered. Conclusion: Ardita can be managed by giving comprehensive management of Panchakarma and palliative treatment which reflects that it is good remedy for this Vata Vyadhi.

Abstract:

A 36 year old female patient with two weeks history of right sided facial paralysis, presenting with inability to close right eye, which also had tearing and a burning sensation.In present time, due to fast life style, anxiety, stress etc., incidence of Vatavyadhi like Pakshaghata, Ardita etc is increasing. Aggravation of Vata is responsible to cause Ardita. On the basis of its origin and symptoms mentioned in Sushruta Samhita, Ardita can be correlated with facial paralysis or Bell’s palsy caused by involvement of VII cranial nerve. The great Indian sage Caraka, in his medical tome scripted in the second century BC describes the aetiology and management of Ardita. Bearing this idea in mind Nasya karma with panaspatra sveda was selected in present case. There was no previous history of similar symptoms or a recent infection. Prior treatment had included oral steroids. The patient perceived a 70% to 80% improvement of facial movement after the first treatment. After the second treatment, the patient reported full control of his facial movement.

Abstract:

Bell’s palsy, also known as acute idiopathic lower motor neuron facial paralysis, is characterized by sud-den onset paralysis or weakness of the muscles to one side of the face controlled by the facial nerve. In contemporary science, administration of steroids is the treatment of choice for complete facial palsy. Cer-tain Panchakarma procedures and internal Ayurvedic medicines have been proved to be beneficial in the management of Ardita vata. The present report deals with a case of 62-year-old male patient diagnosed as Ardita vata was treated with various Panchakarma procedures like Nasya, Shirobasti, Kukkutanda Swedana, Dashmoola Ksheer Dhoom, Gandoosh and oral Ayurveda medicines. Criteria of assessment was based on the scoring of House-Brackmann Facial Nerve Grading scale. After completion of Ayurveda treatment, the patient Shown almost complete recovery without any adverse effects. This case is an evi-dence to demonstrate the effectiveness of Ayurveda treatment in case of Ardita vata (Bell’s palsy).

Abstract:

Bell's palsy or acute idiopathic lower motor neuron facial palsy are similar to Ardita vatapresenting with palsy on one side of the face. Sudden paralysis or weakness of the muscles on one side of the face controlled by the facial nerve characteristics this condition. Bell's palsy is an idiopathic, immune-mediated condition that is thought to be triggered by an infection. In today's science, steroid medication is the preferred treatment for full facial palsy. A 66-year-old person was diagnosed with Ardita vataas a result of a nor bearing pain in left ear and was treated with Mahamasha taila Nasyaand oral Ayurvedic medicines, as well as two Panchakarmasessions. The treatment lasted four months in total, but significant benefits were shown after just one month, indicating practically complete recovery without the use of any additional drugs.The patient had the identical ailment in the right side of hisface 5 years ago, and he received complete relief after 2 years of allopathic treatment. This instance serves as proof of the efficacy of Ayurvedictreatment in the treatment of Ardita vata(Bell's palsy) and as a proposal for more research on a larger number of patients.

Abstract:

Introduction: Vatavyadhi is considered one of Mahagada. Ardita vata is one among the vatavyadhi, which may be correlated to Bell’s palsy due to the resemblance of signs and symptoms like deviation of angle of the mouth, decreased function of the affected muscle, numbness or pain in the affected side of the face. Bell’s palsy is the most common unilateral lower motor neuron facial palsy that usually develops spontaneously. Bell’s palsy is around 23 per 100,000 people per year, and it affects men and women equally, with a peak incidence between the age group 10-40 years. Ardita can be successfully managed with Ayurvedic treatment, viz. Nasya karma, Murdhni taila, Karnapurana, Snehana Svedana. Materials and method: A 49-year-old male patient complained of deviation of the angle of the mouth towards the left side and was unable to close the right eye for four days was reported to Panchakarma OPD of Alva’s Ayurveda Medical College and hospital, Moodbidri. Snehana, Svedana, Nasya karma and Murdhni taila were selected, along with internal medications and Kinesio taping. The duration and outcome of the treatments were recorded. Result: The patient recovered markedly with the treatment. Conclusion: Ardita can be managed successfully with various Panchakarma measures, internal medications, and the taping technique.

Abstract:

Bell’s palsy is the most common, acute unilateral lower motor neuron nerve palsy and is characterized by sudden onset of weakness in the facial muscles to one side of the face controlled by the facial nerve due to uncertain post infective autoimmune disease. Incidence is approximately 40-75% and the cause is obscure. The therapeutic approach in children often involves a multidisciplinary team comprehending pediatrician, neurologist and physiotherapists. A 4 years old male child with chief complaints of deviation of mouth to left side for one day while attempt to speak and smile and partially opened right eye while sleeping since few hours associated with excessive lacrimation of right eye without any cause. Then the case has been diagnosed as Bell’s palsy based on clinical examination and internal medication along with Nasya procedure is administered there by child improved with this experience same treatment is being practiced in few more cases. In Ayurveda present condition can be compared with Ardita vata under one of Ashta mahagada i.e. under Vata vyadhi. Ardita vata is the broad term which includes all the kinds of facial palsies including Bell’s palsy. There is no exclusive treatment for Bell’s palsy but treatment mentioned for Ardita vata can be adopted like abhyanga, pata sweda and Nasya along with few internal medicines and considering these concepts treatment protocol has been made and executing in hospital of SJG Ayurvedic medical college and getting satisfactory treatment out come within 1-2 weeks without steroidal, antiviral and physiotherapy.

Introduction: Bell’s palsy is a ubiquitous lower motor disorder primarily affecting facial symmetry. The onset of the disease is acute mainly and idiopathic. The line of treatment for Bell’s palsy includes steroids, antiviral drugs and physical therapies. Ardita is a vatananatmaja vyadhi which simulates Bell’s palsy in clinical presentation. The treatment principles of Ardita chikitsa can be effectively adopted in successfully managing Bell’s palsy. Materials and Methods: The present study reports the case of a 49-year-old female patient with symptoms of facial asymmetry and right-sided numbness for 15 days. The case was reported to OPD of Panchakarma, Alva’s Ayurveda Medical College, Moodbidri, Karnataka, India. The treatment adopted included sthanika abhyanga, pottali sveda and Marsha nasya, along with internal medicines during the hospital stay. During the follow-up period, sthanika abhyanga, panasa patra sveda, shiropichu and pratimarsha nasya, along with internal medicines, were advised. Result: Patient observed relief in numbness by 4th day of treatment. Marked improvement was noted in eye closure (90%), forehead frowning, and eyebrow rise on the 11th day. 100% relief was noted at the end of 2 months of follow-up. Conclusion: The treatment principles enumerated in Ayurveda have a high success rate in effectively managing Bell’s palsy. It not only fastens the pace of recovery but also could help decrease the chance of recurrence.

He was clinically diagnosed as Bell's palsy and managed through Panchkarama& palliative treatment for27 days. The patient got complete relief in all symptoms with appreciable changes. Bell's palsy can be managed by giving comprehensive management of Panchkarma and palliative treatment which reflects that it is good remedy for Bell's palsy. Bell’s palsy is characterised by the sudden weakness in the muscles of one half of the face due to the inflammation or compression of facial nerve which is commonly unilateral. Bell’s palsy can be correlated to Arddita mentioned in Ayurvedic classics. Arddita is included among Vatavyadhi. The aggravated Vata will produce symptoms like deviation of half of the face, Tremulousness in the head, Speech difficulty, deformities in eyes etc. A 17 year old male patient reported in the outpatient department with sudden onset of deviation of angle of mouth towards right before 2 weeks. The complaints are associated with speech difficulty, drooling of saliva from the left side, inability to close the left eye, reduced taste sensation, heaviness & mild swelling over the affected side of the face. The case was clinically diagnosed as Bell’s Palsy/Arddita. The patient is treated with Kaphahara/Sophahara followed by Vatahara medicines and procedures. The case was assessed with ‘House and Breckmann’ assessment scale. The result showed significant improvement in motor factions and asymmetry of face. After the treatment, the ‘House and Breckmann’ gradation improved from grade 4 to grade1. This case report shows that classical Arddita treatment is effective in Bell’s palsy.

Arditavata is a disease in which both facial expressions and communication are disabled. It is a VataVyadhi with an increased prevalence in present day scenario is due to exposure to Vatavrddhikara Ahara and Vihara. Abstract:

O manejo dos solos impactados pelos incêndios é um dos principais desafios enfrentado atualmente por Portugal. Neste contexto, o estudo de indicadores da qualidade dos solos, como a estabilidade da agregação, tornou-se essencial, pois os mesmos são sensíveis às mudanças provocadas no meio e refletem o seu grau de perturbação. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo analisar áreas ardidas e não ardidas no Distrito de Bragança, Nordeste de Portugal, e avaliar o comportamento da estabilidade da agregação relacionando-a com atributos físicos e químicos do solo. O estudo foi realizado em três áreas de amostragem distintas, Soutelo (ST), Parâmio (PR) e Quintela de Lampaças (QL), afetadas por incêndios, respectivamente, nos anos de 2015, 2016 e 2017. A colheita de amostras de solo realizou-se em zonas vizinhas ardidas e não ardidas, nas profundidades de 0-5 e > 5 cm. Utilizou-se um equipamento denominado estabilizador de agregados com crivos de malha 0,4 mm e crivos de malha 0,25 mm no qual foram estabelecidas duas classes de tamanho de agregados: Classe 0,4 mm e Classe 0,25 mm. Em ST e PR foi avaliado o comportamento da estabilidade dos agregados sob o efeito do fogo, das classes dos agregados e das profundidades, além disso, foi avaliado também a variação temporal da estabilidade da agregação pós fogo. Todo o tratamento estatístico foi efetuado com recurso às ferramentas do software Excel. Como resultado, observou-se que a estabilidade da agregação foi significativamente superior no estado não ardido, na classe 0,25 mm e na profundidade de 0-5 cm. E em relação à variação temporal pós fogo, a área PR, ardida em 2016, foi a que registrou a maior estabilidade. Assim, é notória a importância do estudo da estabilidade da agregação, pois a mesma revela-se como um importante indicador físico da qualidade do solo, de grande relevância nas decisões quanto ao uso e ao manejo do mesmo.

A erosão é uma das ameaças ao recurso solo em Portugal, afetando atualmente áreas consideráveis, situação muito evidente no NE Transmontano. As áreas ardidas em consequência de incêndios florestais possibilitam a expressão deste quadro de risco potencial de erosão severa, traduzindo-se em perda da capacidade de recuperação dessas áreas.Este trabalho buscou informação disponível sobre a ocorrência de incêndios no Distrito de Bragança de 1990 a 2015 (ICNF). Os resultados mostram uma variação acentuada ao longo da série do número de ocorrências e da área ardida, e uma grande concentração da área ardida em pequeno número de ocorrências, com destaque para 2013 (Picões, 14130 ha). A grande maioria da área ardida corresponde a matos, sendo residual a área agrícola. The reciprocal effect of two avocado (Persea americana Mill.) cultivars—Ardith and Ettinger—on outcrossing rate and yield was studied in several orchards in Israel. Multilocus estimates of outcrossing rates were made using the isozyme loci Mdh-1 (malate dehydrogenase) and Aat-1 (aspartate aminotransferase) for `Ettinger' progeny and Lap-2 (leucine aminopeptidase), Pgm-1 (phosphoglucomutase) and Tpi-1 (triosephosphate isomerase) for `Ardith' progeny. When the two cultivars were in close proximity, estimated yields ranged from 10 to 20 t·ha-1 and outcrossing rates ranged from 0.71 to 0.89 and from 0.87 to 0.90 for `Ettinger' and `Ardith', respectively. The effect of `Ettinger' as a pollenizer was not restricted to adjacent `Ardith' trees; it also reached more distant `Ardith' trees. Thus, outcrossing rate in `Ardith' was 0.82 at a distance of 30 m from `Ettinger' in one orchard and 0.91 at a distance of 36 m in another orchard. These results confirm previous observations that `Ettinger' is a highly potent pollenizer. Outcrossing rates in `Ardith' and `Ettinger' were found to increase from the young fruitlet stage to that of mature fruit. These findings provide evidence for selective abscission of selfed fruitlets. In addition, parentage analysis of abscised versus retained `Ardith' fruit showed that `Ardith' selfed fruit abscised at a much higher rate than outcrossed ones. The survival advantage of outcrossed fruit is probably related to the fact that selfed progeny have less-vigorous embryos than outcrossed progeny due to inbreeding depression.

Portugal tem sido fustigado, ao longo das últimas décadas, por numerosos incêndios florestais. A área ardida tem vindo a aumentar consideravelmente, sendo o país do Sul da Europa Mediterrânea com a maior percentagem de área queimada. Ao examinarmos a distribuição geográfica das áreas ardidas, em termos de NUT’s II, verificamos que a Região Centro tem sido a mais flagelada. Descendo a uma escala de mais pormenor, observa-se que o distrito da Guarda constitui o território mais afetado pelas chamas, motivo pelo qual centramos este estudo nesse espaço. Pretende-se, pois, efetuar uma análise diacrónica da manifestação do risco dendrocaustológico no distrito da Guarda, no período compreendido entre os anos hidrológicos de 1980/81 e 2009/10, com o objetivo de perceber como se têm conjugado os fatores desencadeantes. Por outro lado, após a ocorrência de incêndios florestais, registam-se mudanças na ocupação do solo, pelo que, outro dos objetivos, passa pelo estabelecimento das formas de evolução da paisagem. Deste modo, com o presente estudo procura-se contribuir para uma melhor compreensão das diversas ações que interferem com o risco de incêndio florestal, assim como, se deseja analisar a nova paisagem que, progressivamente, vai ganhando terreno após a passagem dos incêndios florestais.

Variabel penelitian ada dua yakni variabel indenpenden adalah kualitas pelayanan dan variabel dependen adalah kepuasan pelanggan. Sumber data: 1. Data primer: kuesioner pelanggan; 2. Sekunder: dokumentasi. Populasi: jumlah pembeli selama 3 bulan terakhir di periode 2021 berjumlah 106 pembeli. Sampling: Non-probability-Sampling Insidental. Sampel: 84 responden. Metode dan instrumen pengumpulan data: observasi, angket, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data: Data teoritis dianalisis dengan deduksi dan komparasi. Data empiris dianalisis dengan metode induksi dan analisis statistik menggunakan analisis regresi sederhana. Hasil penelitian dan analisis data dari responden menunjukkan bahwa: 1.UD. Ardian memiliki respon kualitas pelayanan dengan level tinggi sebanyak 34.5%; 2. UD. Ardian memiliki respon kepuasan konsumen dengan level tinggi sebanyak 41.7%; dan 3. Terdapat pengaruh signifikan kualitas pelayanan terhadap kepuasan konsumen di UD. Ardian dengan besarnya koefisien determinasi sebesar 94.1%.

I was appointed in the National Commission Institute on Family in the group that had to analyze the evolutionary trends in the 80's of public social policies. Working with Prof. Sgritta of the Sapienza University in Rome, with Prof. Alba Dini of the Pontifical Gregorian University and Livio Labor chairman of the ACLI, I had to study the theories of Ardigň and Donati. Hence the encounter with Ardigň was decisive. Bali telah dikenal memiliki banyak bentuk seni. Salah satunya adalah seni lukis. Seni Lukis di Bali telah dikenal cukup lama. Seiring perjalanan waktu, terjadi perubahan dengan kedatangan bangsa Barat yang mempengaruhi gaya lukis Bali. Selanjutnya, media juga memberikan pengaruh yang sangat besar dalam seni lukis di Bali, salah satunya adalah t-shirt. Salah satu seniman lukis t-shirt yang cukup dikenal oleh anak muda Bali yaitu I Nyoman Ngurah Ardika Yasa. Pada karyanya yang bertema “Rangda”, salah satu dari banyak karya yang telah dibuat cukup menarik untuk dilakukan penelitian. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode ikonografi Erwin Panofsky. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui makna karya seni lukis t-shirt seniman I Nyoman Ngurah Ardika yang bertemakan rangda.Tahap pra-ikonografi, ilustrasi yang digambarkan merupakan sebuah komunikasi bahwa rangda merupakan sosok yang akan membawa kematian bagi manusia. Pada tahapan analisis ikonografi digunakan teori Roland Barthes untuk mengungkap lambang yang ada pada karya tersebut. Mitos yang hadir sebagai petanda dalam karya selanjutnya dihubungkan dengan tema dan konsep yang tersirat. “Rangda” telah menjadi mitos yang ada pada masyarakat Bali. Analisis interpretasi ikonologis, Ilustrasi rangda karya I Nyoman Ngurah Ardika Yasa diciptakan tidak dengan mengedepankan nilai keindahan secara konvensional, namun berdasarkan imajinasi atas rasa dan pengalaman estetis yang diterima pada masa yang lalu. Pada karyanya wujud rangda digambarkan dengan penggayaan bentuk melalui penyederhaan dan deformasi bentuk, sehingga karakter rangda terlihat berbeda dengan wujud rangda secara tradisi. Sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa ilustrasi rangda ini mengikuti gaya postmodern champ yaitu menolak keotentikan atau keorisinilan untuk tujuan dan kepentingannya sendiri.

Proper operation of municipal wastewater treatment plants is important in producing an effluent which meets quality requirements of regulatory agencies and in minimizing detrimental effects on the environment. This paper examined plant dynamics and modeling techniques with emphasis placed on the digital computing technology of Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). A backpropagation model was developed to model the municipal wastewater treatment plant at Ardiya, Kuwait City, Kuwait. Results obtained prove that Neural Networks present a versatile tool in modeling full-scale operational wastewater treatment plants and provide an alternative methodology for predicting the performance of treatment plants. The overall suspended solids (TSS) and organic pollutants (BOD) removal efficiencies achieved at Ardiya plant over a period of 16 months were 94.6 and 97.3 percent, respectively. Plant performance was adequately predicted using the backpropagation ANN model. The correlation coefficients between the predicted and actual effluent data using the best model was 0.72 for TSS compared to 0.74 for BOD. The best ANN structure does not necessarily mean the most number of hidden layers.

Berdasarkan data internal perusahaan, diketahui PT Medion Ardhika Bhakti Bandung mengalami penurunan indeks kualitas pelayanan pada periodik terakhir sebesar 3,05% di semester II-2019. Adapun tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengambil kebijakan dalam meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan yang diberikan PT Medion Ardhika Bhakti, dan mengetahui tingkat kepuasan pelanggan. Data didapat melalui kuesioner yang disebarkan terhadap 100 orang pelanggan PT Medion Ardhika Bhakti. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik deskriptif kuantitatif untuk mengetahui level kesenjangan (GAP) melalui bantuan analisis IPA (Importance Performance Analysis). Hasil riset ini menunjukkan tingkat kepuasan pelanggan PT Medion Ardhika Bhakti yang diukur melalui GAP antara kinerja dan harapan memperoleh nilai rata-rata kinerja 3,69, sedangkan rata-rata harapan sebesar 3,91. Berdasarkan hasil analisis IPA tersebut, maka dapat disimpulkan jika pelanggan sudah merasa puas namun masih ada atribut kualitas layanan yang perlu ditingkatkan dengan prioritas utama adalah fasilitas visual seperti aplikasi customer service sebagai penunjang proses pemberian pelayanan dengan cepat, dan kualitas pelayanan purna jual sehingga penelitian ini sangat membantu dalam membuat kebijakan di masa mendatang.
