Full textNowadays, the sophistication and the multiplication of electrical power systems, characterize technological and human society evolutions. Electrical energy from production systems is an essential factor for the development and improvement of living conditions and industrial activities. In electric power systems, as in the field of electric drives, which can be operated at variable speed, the Doubly Fed Induction machine (DFIM) occupies more and more space. This machine is particularly appreciated because it offers advantages over other types of electric machines such as reliability, robustness, and lower cost. It is this type of machine that is used in most current wind turbines. However, despite the advantages of this machine, it is not immune to failures. The most common ones are listed as follows: a) short circuit on stator and rotor windings, b) rotor bar breaks, c) bearing faults, d) eccentricity faults of the iron gap. In the case of maintenance, these types of defects must be detected in their early stages and located, because they can lead to high maintenance costs, production downtime and significant degradation. The diagnosis of such system encourages researches in laboratories, both industrial and academic, to develop effective monitoring devices. Many methods have been studied in this field, in order to be able to react as soon as possible and to avoid a harmful aggravation of defects. The aim is to ensure operation of the system, production of electrical energy and reduction of maintenance costs. These studies are still ongoing in the various research centers. This manuscript presents new methodologies to diagnose short circuit faults between turns in stator winding of a DFIM. These developed approaches are based on a model or from amplitudes of harmonic components of vibratory signal or from characteristics of geometric shape of currents according to short-circuit rates. The analized signals are vibrations (only for experimental case) and currents (theoretical and experimental cases). The presented methods use classical techniques such as the Fourier Transform (FT) and the Park Vector Approach (PVA). The FT is used to observe the spectral evolution of the harmonics and more particularly of their amplitude. Then, PVA is used to exploit characteristics of geometrical shape of currents. The DFIM is analytically modeled by multi-coupled circuit model. In this work, the proposed approaches were simulated on Matlab environment and validated on a real device using a 0.3kW wound rotor asynchronous machine (DFIM). The studied DFIM can be configurated with a short circuit rate between turns of 2.5%, 5%, 10%, 20%, 30% to 40% on one phase (phase A)

Full textThe first part of this document deals with still image compression scheme using discrete wavelets transform (DWT) and lattice vector quantization (LVQ). Two vector quantizer have been proposed: a dead zone lattice vector quantizer and a reduced-lattice vector quantizer. In addition, two algorithms have been designed in order to reduce the complexity of the proposed compression schemes: an optimal (in the distortion sense) dead zone search and a rate allocation based on an exponential approximation of the rate-distortion functions. In the second part, two joint compression and watermarking schemes, based on DWT and LVQ, are presented. The first method takes into account the image content when embedding the mark and the second, called modulation lattice vector quantization (MLVQ), is based on quantization index modulation principles. In particular, we have shown that MLVQ must be added to a vector dead zone and a specific indexing method to maintain good compression performances. Finally, a quantization parameter estimation method has been proposed in order to allow variable rate coding

Full textThis work is focused on the study of cooperative agent's approaches in analysis and interpretation of epileptic signals, based on intracerebral EEG signals analysis. It studies the dynamics of neuronal networks in the partial temporal lobe epilepsy. A descriptive, quantitative and global method of organization analysis of the critical paroxystic events is proposed and applied to all the vectorial signals recorded during the pre-surgical investigation. Our approach associated signal processing in multi-agent system. Every epileptic signal is associated with a cooperative agent asked to characterize its individual properties and its links with the other agents. This transposition to electrophysiological space (signals) in an agent space (multi-agent platform) allowed to organize, to control the various computations, to assure their coordination by integrating into best specificities of each and to bring to the foreground all the interesting combinations between cerebral regions

Full textMy thesis is part of Arabic sentiment analysis. Its aim is to determine the global polarity of a given textual statement written in MSA or dialectal arabic. This research area has been subject of numerous studies dealing with Indo-European languages, in particular English. One of difficulties confronting this thesis is the processing of Arabic. In fact, Arabic is a morphologically rich language which implies a greater sparsity : we want to overcome this problem by producing, in a completely automatic way, new arabic specific embeddings. Our study focuses on the use of a neural approach to improve polarity detection, using embeddings. These embeddings have revealed fundamental in various natural languages processing tasks (NLP). Our contribution in this thesis concerns several axis. First, we begin with a preliminary study of the various existing pre-trained word embeddings resources in arabic. These embeddings consider words as space separated units in order to capture semantic and syntactic similarities in the embedding space. Second, we focus on the specifity of Arabic language. We propose arabic specific embeddings that take into account agglutination and morphological richness of Arabic. These specific embeddings have been used, alone and in combined way, as input to neural networks providing an improvement in terms of classification performance. Finally, we evaluate embeddings with intrinsic and extrinsic methods specific to sentiment analysis task. For intrinsic embeddings evaluation, we propose a new protocol introducing the notion of sentiment stability in the embeddings space. We propose also a qualitaive extrinsic analysis of our embeddings by using visualisation methods

Full textWithin the frame of global change currently occuring, the issue of malaria has been examined in current malaria-free areas such as Europe, and seems particularly of interest in former endemic areas where potential vectors are still abundant, such as the Camargue – South East France. Longitudinal field surveys of larvae and adult populations, conducted at the local and regional scale, determined the dynamics of the 5 Anopheles species identified in the Camargue. Among them, An. Hyrcanus is the current main potential malaria vector, based on its abundance and human habit feeding behavior. Genetic study clarified its systematic position, suggesting that An. Hyrcanus and An. Pseudopictus would be synonymous forms in the Camargue. Spatial analysis of field data determined the spatio-temporal distribution of adult An. Hyrcanus, in relation with environmental key factors calculated by remote sensing methodology. Moreover, susceptibility of French Anopheles was tested with tropical P. Falciparum and showed that, while very low, it was not nil. A retrospective study concerning the abundance of An. Hyrcanus populations showed how this species has become the main potential malaria vector in the Camargue due to the influence of political context, environmental constraints, technical improvements and social and economical factors which have modified biotopes of the Camargue. Finally, the risk of malaria resurgence was inferred by spatializing the entomological risk, which was based on an innovative probabilistic method, and by inferring the distribution of malaria imported cases. This work concluded on the absence of risk of malaria resurgence and emphasized the overall methodology which could be used in other areas or with others vector-borne diseases

Full textWhat is the relationship between health risk perceptions and the epidemiological context - especially when it is unstable? As part of this thesis, we focused on the three main components highlighted by Stokols in the analysis of context effects on health behaviors. It is a question of the spatial dimension of the phenomenon (how does the proximity of the risk affect the perception of health risks?). On the other hand, it is the temporal or diachronic dimension of the phenomenon (what are the temporal patterns that characterize the perception of health risks?). Finally, it is the socio-cultural dimension of the phenomenon (to what extent do people's social conditions influence how they perceive risks?). On the basis of a review of the literature and a series of questionnaire surveys conducted in the French overseas departments, we proceeded to verify a series of hypotheses on the spatio-temporal and sociocultural dynamics of perceptions. the risk of vector-borne diseases (dengue, chikungunya and Zika). These data have been presented in three scientific papers that will form the empirical part of this thesis. In general, this research allows us to highlight effects of habituation and / or minimization of health risks that have been poorly documented in the psychological literature. The latter, however, seem to be modulated to a large extent by phenomena of social influence that require better characterization in future research
