Abstract:
Med hänsyn till att vi bygger i stadskärnorna blir APD-planen ett verktyg de större byggprojekten inte klarar sig utan. Antingen görs den i 2D eller i 3D. Nu när byggbranschen allt mer och mer inser nyttan av att planera arbetsplatsens utformning i 3D kan man göra väl genomarbetade APD-planer som innefattar det mesta, vilket även det har sina fördelar ur ett produktionstekniskt synsätt.Denna rapport avser att undersöka sambanden mellan projekteringen och APD-planeringen samt hur dialogen mellan de inblandade aktörerna inom projekteringen och APD-planeringen kan bli bättre. Syftet blir då att undersöka hur personer som varit involverande i byggprojektet STUDIO uppfattar sambandet mellan projekteringen som gjordes för byggprojektet och den senare APD-planen men även vad som kan och bör göras för att få det att fortlöpa enklare. Genom att titta på kommunikationsprocessen mellan dessa grupper kan vikten av att ta hänsyn till arbetsmiljömässiga konsekvenser för både produktionsfasen och för den färdiga byggnaden lyftas fram.Inhämtning av information har skett genom intervjuer med öppna frågor, granskning av Skanskas interna dokument för Projekt STUDIO samt genom facklitteratur. Den teoretiska referensramen har innefattat allt ifrån byggprocessen och dess olika skeden till BAS-P och BAS-U med deras viktiga roller i ett byggprojekt. Vidare har entreprenadformerna presenterats och en närmare beskrivning om vilken entreprenadform som används vid STUDIO finns med. Detta har varit till grund för att få en förståelse om byggprocessen i helhet, APD-plan och vad som krävs vid upprättandet av en sådan.Intervjuerna som genererade en stor portion information för studien hade anknytning till APD-planen och även projekteringen. Personerna som blev intervjuade fick under intervjun berätta hur det i nuläget arbetas men även hur de själva kan tänka sig skulle vara bättre att arbeta. Intervjuerna spelades in och transkriberades, därefter kunde den inhämtade information enklare analyseras och det viktigaste kunde plockas fram. Från den erhållna informationen gjordes analys och slutsats.Studien visar att en länk, i form av en kommunikationsprocess, mellan projektering och APD-planering existerar, men som i dagsläget inte är så glasklar. Analysen kom fram till att det finns en del som kan göras och är väldigt enkelt att implementera i byggprojekten. Från analysen framkom det exempelvis att alla tillfrågade från intervjuerna, tycker att det är viktigt med någon form av preliminär APD-plan. Byggprojektet STUDIO har varit ett unikt projekt och sätter en hög standard i byggbranschen, dock bör däremot produktionspersonal deltaga på projekteringsmöten för att bistå med sin kunskap från byggarbetsplatsen.
Considering that we are building in city centres, the construction site layout plan (CSLP) becomes a tool that construction projects cannot do without. It can either be created in 2D or 3D. Now that the construction industry is slowly beginning to realize the advantages of having a site layout plan in 3D, one is able to create well-devised plans that include needed information, which is also beneficial from a production engineering approach.The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the construction design and the construction site layout plan and how the dialogue between the actors involved in the design and site layout planning can be improved. These questions have been answered by analysis of interviews with some persons who have been a part of the construction design and planning of the site in a project called STUDIO Malmö.The retrieval of information has been through interviews, review of Skanska's internal documents for Project STUDIO Malmö and by collecting useful information from literature.The study shows that a link between the construction design and the construction site layout plan exists, but that it is not clear in the current situation. The study also shows that there are suggestions on how to improve the communication that actually could work in the current situation.

Abstract:

A peritoneal dialysis cycler model was developed to be used by biomedical device manufacturers in order to aid them in the system development, system level requirement writing, and FDA device certification process. This generic model can be used as a plug and play model for companies to incorporate a specific dialysis pump that is commercially available and quickly integrate it into their system. The Simulink model was used to simulate the system behavior and analyze multi domain dynamic systems data. A mathematical representation of the physical system was derived using fluid dynamic equations. The mathematical equations were then translated into Simulink blocks for the computer environment to understand. A proportional integral derivative controller was designed and integrated into the system in order to compensate the flow rate for any difference between the flow set point and the actual flow. System monitors were developed to protect patients from hazardous conditions.

Abstract:
Trots den nytta som BIM har på ett projekt så finns det fortfarande företag som väljer att skapa sina APD-planer på det traditionella arbetssättet. Det traditionella arbetssättet innebär att APD-planen upprättas på den gamla metoden som vanligtvis görs med 2D. Anledningen bakom att det fortfarande finns företag som upprättar APD-planer på den traditionella arbetsmetoden är att de inte finns någon tillräcklig vilja eller kunskap att ändra arbetsmetod trots att metoden anses vara osäker och tidskrävande. Det har istället förekommit en ny arbetsmetod för att frambringa planer och ritningar som ska ersätta den traditionella arbetsmetoden. Denna arbetsmetod skapar modeller i 3D där de ingående byggkomponenterna även innehåller information. Denna arbetsmetod kallas för BIM som står för byggnadsinformationsmodellering. Modellen som upprättas med BIM och som innehåller information om de tillgängliga byggkomponenterna kallas för BIM-modell. BIM som arbetsmetod kan i sin tur användas för att skapa APD-planer med hjälp av stödjande verktyg som tex SketchUp och Revit vilket medför många fördelar.  Denna studie syftar därför till att undersöka hur APD-plan visualiseras i dagens läge samt upplysa vilka faktorer som samtliga byggföretag ska beakta vid val av verktyg för visualisering av byggarbetsplatsen. Fördelar, nackdelar samt hinder kommer att lyftas fram i denna studie med hänsyn till 3D och BIM i syfte att undersöka vilken dimension det är som lämpar sig bäst för visualisering av APD-planen samt vilken dimension APD-planen visualiseras med i dagsläget. Ytterligare ett syfte är att undersöka var i byggprocessen som APD-Planen bör integreras. Fokus kommer ligga på att påvisa fördelarna med att utöka användandet av 3D respektive BIM-relaterade APD-visualiserings verktyg. Det som tas upp i frågeställningarna är vilka de olika fördelar respektive nackdelar samt hinder som finns med att tillämpa 3D och BIM vid visualisering av APD-plan. Dessutom görs två olika visualiseringar med 3D och BIM verktyg för att visa hur APD-planen visualiseras.       Den mest användbara dimensionen vid visualisering av APD-planen är 2D där APD-planen upprättas med Bluebeam. Det finns vissa företag som har övergått till 3D vid visualisering men som kombinerar med 2D ritningar eller skisser. Att visualisera med BIM har inte varit aktuellt för de samtliga intervjuade företagen. Däremot används de färdigprojekterade BIM modellerna som en del av 3D visualiseringen i syfte att skapa en så verklighetsanpassad visualisering som möjligt. Fördelarna med att visualisera en APD-plan med 3D och BIM-verktyg är att det ger en förverkligad bild på hur byggarbetsplatsen kommer att se ut och att risker, möjligheter och problem som inte skulle kunna upptäckas med 2D-modellen blir upptäckbara. Nackdelen däremot med att visualisera en APD-plan med 3D eller BIM-verktyg är att filerna kan bli alltför tunga vilket leder i sin tur till verktyget blir svår hanterligt samt upplevs som hackigt. Det som dock hindrar många ifrån att implementera 3D och BIM-relaterade verktyg är den mänskliga faktorn som sätter stop för utvecklingen, där människans bekvämligheter och arbetsrutiner är avgörande för implementeringen av verktygen. De absolut viktigaste faktorer som ett företag bör beakta vid val av verktyg vid visualisering av APD-plan är Lönsamhet, användarupplevelse, kompatibilitet och support.
Despite the benefits that BIM has on a project, there are still companies that choose to create their APD plans in the traditional way. The reason why there are still companies that draw up APD plans on the traditional working method is that they do not have sufficient will or knowledge to change working method despite the method being considered uncertain and time consuming. Instead, there has been a new working method for producing plans and drawings that will replace the traditional working method. This working method creates models in 3D where the constituent building components also contain information. This working method is known as BIM as a wound for building information modeling. The model that is established with BIM and which contains information about the available building components is called the BIM model. BIM as a working method can in turn be used to create APD plans with the help of supporting tools such as SketchUp and Revit, which brings many benefits. This study therefore aims to investigate how APD plans are visualized in the current situation and to inform which factors all construction companies must take into account when choosing tools for visualization of the construction site. Advantages, disadvantages and obstacles will be highlighted in this study with regard to 3D and BIM in order to investigate which dimension is best suited for visualization of the APD plan and which dimension the APD plan is visualized with at present. Another purpose is to investigate where in the construction process the APD Plan should be integrated. The focus will be on demonstrating the benefits of expanding the use of 3D and BIM-related APD visualization tools, respectively. What is addressed in the issues is what are the different advantages and disadvantages as well as obstacles that exist with applying 3D and BIM when visualizing APD plans. In addition, two different visualizations are made with 3D and BIM tools to show how the APD plan is visualized. The most useful dimension in visualizing the APD plan is 2D where the APD plan is created with Bluebeam. There are some companies that have switched to 3D in visualization but which are combined with 2D drawings or sketches. Visualization with BIM has not been relevant for all the companies interviewed. On the other hand, the pre-designed BIM models are used as part of the 3D visualization in order to create as realistic a visualization as possible. The advantages of visualizing an APD plan with 3D and BIM tools are that it provides a realistic picture of what the construction site will look like and that risks, opportunities and problems that could not be detected with the 2D model become detectable. The disadvantage, however, of visualizing an APD plan with 3D or BIM tools is that the files can become too heavy, which in turn leads to the tool becoming difficult to handle and perceived as choppy. However, what prevents many from implementing 3D and BIM-related tools is the human factor that puts a stop to development, where human conveniences and work routines are crucial for the implementation of the tools. The most important factors that a company should consider when choosing tools when visualizing APD plans are Profitability, user experience, compatibility and support.

Os fluxos de Ajuda Pública ao Desenvolvimento entre Portugal e os PALOP têm sido objecto de análise que, as mais das vezes, se fica pela leitura da evolução quantitativa dos seus valores. Partindo de uma observação da dinâmica da cooperação internacional e portuguesa e com apoio de dados estatísticos e modelos econométricos, a presente dissertação procura desvendar a estratégia, as motivações, os interesses e os determinantes que estão na origem de tais fluxos. Com base nos resultados atingidos, concluir-se-á acerca da importância de motivações humanitárias, económicas, comerciais, políticas, geoestratégicas e relacionadas com o passado colonial, bem como de questões transversais, na dinâmica dos fluxos de APD.
The ODA flows between Portugal and the Portuguese-Speaking African Countries have been thoroughly studied, but most of the times in a perspective that doesn´t go beyond the analysis of the quantitative evolution of the data. This paper aims to observe the strategy, the motivations, the interests and the determinants of this type of flows, starting from the observation of the international and Portuguese cooperation dynamics and with the support of statistical and econometric models. Based on the final results of the model, the importance of humanitarian, economical, commercial, political, geostrategic and past colonial experience motivations will be discussed, as well as other transversal aspects of the ODA flows.

Abstract:

Avsikten med projektet har varit att hitta skillnader i APD- och logistikplaner i samband med väderskyddat byggande gentemot traditionellt byggande där väderskydd inte används. Spelar APD-planen en viktig roll när det gäller väderskydd? Kan man effektivisera byggandet med en smart APD- och logistikplan? Med hjälp av litteratur och fallstudier är detta frågor som vi ska försöka besvara. Använd litteratur består av forskarrapporter och tidigare examensarbeten. Projektet består av fallstudier där tre platschefer intervjuats. Efter intervjuerna sammanställdes platschefernas svar där likheter och skillnader tas upp.

Resultatet från undersökta projekt visar att det är beroende på väderskyddets utseende om det är någon skillnad på utformning av logistikplaner. APD-planerna på de tre fallstudierna skiljer sig inte mot traditionellt byggande, det är samma tankegång.

Samtliga platschefer säger att det ofta är problem med logistiken till byggarbetsplatsen. Vi tror inte enbart det beror på de leverantörer som levererar material utan att det är hela kedjan från råmaterial till färdig produkt. Det blir en dominoeffekt där den sista aktören i kedjan är den som blir mest drabbad. Om logistikkedjan från råmaterial till färdig produkt kan optimeras borde förseningar av leveranser till byggarbetsplasten kunna minskas. Vilket leder fram till att det finns pengar att spara för byggföretagen.

In this thesis, I evaluated the theoretical and practical performance of a Geiger mode avalanche photodiode (GM-APD, or Geiger mode APD) array for use in optical communications systems. I designed and implemented a test pattern generator, capable of producing waveforms with OOK and PPM modulations at a variety of symbol rates and duty cycles. Using this pattern generator, I tested the receiver properties over a wide range of data rates and illumination levels, and was able to demonstrate the capability for error-free communications in both modulation formats, up to 78.8 Mbps at a sensitivity of 1.8 photons per bit for OOK, and 34.9 Mbps at 2 photons per bit for PPM.

This thesis explains low temperature operation of an InGaAs Avalanche Photo Diode (APD) cooled using thermoelectric coolers in order to utilize in the quantum cryptographic applications. A theoretical background for the equipment used in the experiment was provided. Circuitry and mechanics used for the low temperature operation were designed. Performance measures for APD were explained and experiment results were presented.

Cette thèse, réalisée à l'IES en partenariat avec la société SOFRADIR et le CEA-LETI, avait pour objectif d'évaluer les potentialités du matériau InSb pour la réalisation de photodiodes à avalanche (APD) moyen infrarouge (MWIR). Par l'étude du design (simulations TCAD), de la fabrication technologique en configuration MESA (voie humide, voie sèche, passivation), puis par la caractérisation électrique des dispositifs, ce travail de thèse s'est attaché à explorer l'ensemble des éléments nécessaires au développement de cette filière de photodétecteurs. Les photodiodes InSb fabriquées par épitaxie par jets moléculaires (EJM) ont présenté des densités de courant d'obscurité sur des monoléments de 10 à 30nA/cm² à -50mV et à 77K. Ces performances positionnent ces photodiodes à l'état de l'art pour la filière épi-InSb et souligne ainsi l'excellente qualité cristalline des couches épitaxiées. Les premières APDs InSb ont ensuite été épitaxiées et caractérisées. Avec une pure injection d'électrons nous avons observé une augmentation exponentielle du gain dans l'InSb, signature d'une multiplication initiée exclusivement par les électrons. Un premier gain de 3 à -4V a été mesuré. Cette asymétrie du processus d'ionisation par impact indiquerait la possibilité d'obtenir du gain sans excès de bruit, propriété indispensable pour les applications d'imagerie faible flux visée. A ce stade de l'étude, les performances des APDs InSb sont limitées par un dopage résiduel trop élevé dans les zones de multiplications réalisées, entrainant une forte contribution du courant tunnel bande à bande. Néanmoins, ces travaux fournissent tous les éléments d'orientations nécessaires au développement des APDs InSb dont le point clé est définitivement l'obtention d'un faible dopage résiduel dans la zone de multiplication
This thesis realized at the IES, with the collaboration of SOFRADIR and the CEA-LETI, had for objective the potential evaluation of the InSb material for the realization of midwave infrared (MWIR) avalanche photodiodes (APD). Studying the design (TCAD modeling), the MESA technological fabrication (wet etching, dry etching, passivation) and analyzing the electrical characterizations of devices fabricated, this work has investigated all the scientific elements necessary for the development of this photodetector technology. The MBE (Molecular Beam Epitaxy) grow InSb photodiodes have shown monopixel dark current density from 10 to 30nA/cm² at -50mV and 77K. These performances are at the state of the art for InSb epi-diodes and highlight the excellent crystal quality of the epitaxial layers. The first InSb APDs were grown and characterized. With a pure electron injection, we have observed an exponential increase of the gain, signature of a single carrier multiplication exclusively initiated by the electrons. A gain value of 3 was measured at -4V. This asymmetrical aspect of the impact ionization process would indicate the possibility to obtain a gain without excess noise. This is fundamental for the intended imaging applications. At this stage, InSb APD performances are limited by a too high residual doping level, resulting in a strong band to band tunneling current. Nevertheless, this work provides all the milestones needed for the InSb APD development where the key point is undoubtedly the getting of low residual doping level in the multiplication layer

Abstract:
Syfte: Platsbyggd byggnadsproduktion är en komplicerad process. En tillfällig fabrik, med nya materialupplag och nytt arbetsplatsområde upprättas vid varje enskilt projekt, vilket komplicerar processen ytterligare. Materialhanteringen utgör en stor besparingsmöjlighet i byggnadsprojekt och 40 % av tiden som förloras på en byggarbetsplats kan tillskrivas materialhantering. För att få bukt med slöseri kopplat till materialhantering krävs en väl bearbetad logistikplanering, fungerande kommunikation samt kunskapsbeaktning från tidigare genomförda projekt. Studiens mål är därför att identifiera förbättringsåtgärder gällande användning av materialrutor och gångstråk, samt skapa en kommunikationsmodell för arbetsplatsdispositionsplanen (APD-planen) som stödjer erfarenhetsåterföring. Metod: Studien har utfört fallstudier på två projekt inom NCC:s organisation. Kvalitativ datainsamling i form av litteraturstudie, intervjuer, dokumentanalys och observation har använts. Semistrukturerade intervjuer har utförts och innefattar sju respondenter med olika befattningar inom byggbranschen. Resultat: Studien har tagit fram faktorer som bör beaktas vid planeringen av materialrutor och gångstråk. Vidare visar resultatet att det krävs resurser och strukturerade processer för att erfarenhetsåterföring i byggnadsprojekt skall fungera. För att lyckas med användningen av materialrutor och gångstråk krävs god kommunikation av APD-planen. I studien har även en kommunikationsmodell av APDplanen som stödjer erfarenhetsåterföring tagits fram. Konsekvenser: Det är under inköps- och leveransplaneringen som förutsättningarna för materialrutor och gångstråk sätts, därför bör APD-planen vara mer i fokus under detta skede. En förutsättning för att användningen av materialrutor och gångstråk skall fungera är att det finns resurser som stödjer platsledningen vid planering och utförandet. Genom att använda sig av logistikresurser inom organisationen underlättas planering och hantering av material på byggarbetsplatsen och insamlade erfarenheter kan förmedlas mellan projekt. Ute i produktionen bör det finnas en ansvarig godsmottagare som är extra insatt i APD-planen och materialrutor, genom kontinuerlig kommunikation med platsledning och logistikresurs. Begränsningar: Eftersom arbetet endast omfattar studie av två byggnadsprojekt finns det en begränsning i vilka faktorer och resonemang som lyfts fram. Även om resultatet grundas från två byggnadsprojekt är de grundläggande processerna och händelseförloppen vid uppförande av byggnader likartade och resultatet kan därför tillämpas på liknande byggnadsprojekt.
Purpose: On-site construction is a complicated process. A temporary factory, with new zones for materials and workplace area must be established for each new project, which complicates the process further. Material management stands for a big saving opportunity in building projects and 40 % of the time lost on a construction site can be attributed to material management.  To overcome this waste connected to material management a well-processed logistics planning, god communication as well as experience feedback from previous projects is required. The aim for this thesis is therefore to identify improvement measure regarding the use of material-dedicated buffer zones and walking paths, and as well as create a model of communication that supports experience feedback. Method The thesis is a case study on two projects within the organization of NCC.  A qualitative data collection with literature review, interviews, document analysis and observation has been conducted. Semi-structured interviews have been conducted and includes seven respondents with different position within the construction industry. Findings: The thesis has produced factors that should be taken into consideration when material zones and walking paths are planned. The result shows that resources and structured processes are required if experience feedback should work during the construction project. To succeed with the use of material-dedicated buffer zones and walking paths, good communication of the construction site plan is needed. Furthermore, the thesis has resulted in a model of communication that supports experience feedback.   Implications: It’s during the purchase and delivery planning that the conditions for the material-dedicated buffer zones and walking paths are set, therefore the construction site planning should be involved more in this phase. A prerequisite for using dedicated material zones and walking paths are resources which supports the construction management with planning and performance. By using logistic resources within the organization facilitates planning and management of material at the construction site, enables that collected experience can be conveyed between projects. In the production there should be a responsible receiver of material deliveries, who is extra briefed in the constructions site plan and the material-dedicated buffer zones through continuous communication with the construction management and logistic resource. Limitations: Since the thesis only includes two building projects, there is a limitation of the factors and arguments that are treated. Although the result is based on two building projects the fundamental processes and course of events are similar and can therefore be applied on other building projects.

Abstract:
Svenska städer har det senaste århundradet växt sig täta vilket medfört utmaningar både konstruktions-, planerings- och logistikmässigt. Slöseri på byggarbetsplatser är väsentligt högre än på andra arbetsplatser och undersökningen Slöseri i byggprojekt visar att det uppgår i så mycket som 30-35% av projektets produktionskostnad. Produktionsprocessen är det som tillför värde till objektet och enligt rapporten Planering i svensk byggproduktion påverkas produktionen till stor del av planering och styrning. Med hjälp av en arbetsplatsdispositionsplan (APD-plan) och ett genomtänkt system för leveranser och godsmottagning kan detta behjälpas. Syftet med denna rapport var att identifiera styrande faktorer som påverkar upprättandet av APD-planer. Detta mynnade ut i ett antal råd som ska vara till hjälp och bidra till ett kostnadseffektivt och produktivt utförande. Arbetet inleddes med litteraturstudie som följdes av intervjuundersökning. Målgruppen för intervjuerna var en konsult inom bygglogistik och yrkeserfarna från byggbranschen. En fallstudie genomfördes för att undersöka data från teori och intervjuer. Att ha en bra APD-plan genererar en rad fördelar. Den främsta av dessa är att den säkerställer att flödet på arbetsplatsen fungerar på ett tillfredställande sätt. Undersökningen visar att byggbranschens aktörer är medvetna om APD-planens roll i byggprocessen men har olika uppfattning om dess betydelse, hur den bör användas samt hur och när den tas fram. Genom att i ett tidigt skede analysera samverkan mellan arbetsplatsinrättningar med avseende på både generaliserbara och projektspecifika faktorer kan en väl fungerande arbetsplats etableras.
