Kiedy Hegel usiłował powiązać historię świata z historią europejskich tożsamości narodowych, jego słuchacze zakładali, że miarą wieku ziemi są tysiąclecia (103 lub 104 lat), a nie eony (109 lat). Fabrykacja pamięci narodowej miała dotyczyć podobnego horyzontu czasowego co dzieje planety, a obydwa procesy postrzegano jako wzajemnie zbieżne naturalne cykle. I choć paleogenetyka i geologia wyraźnie temu przeczą, iluzja współmierności chronologii gatunkowej i planetarnej przyniosła opłakane skutki, które, jak na ironię, doprowadziły do jej urzeczywistnienia. Ową metakonsekwencją jest antropocen, epoka w której lokalna historia gospodarcza faktycznie zaważyła na obliczu planety, kształtując je na swój obraz i podobieństwo. Chronologiczne zestrojenie człowieka i planety okazało się zatem samospełniającym się przesądem. Czym wobec tego różnią się, a w czym są sobie podobni ánthrōpos antropogenezy i ánthrōpos antropocenu? Czy odpowiadają sobie nawzajem? Czy pojawienie się człowieka musi bezwarunkowo skutkować antropocenem? A jeśli nie musi prowadzić do tego partykularnego współczesnego nam antropocenu, to czy nie skutkuje antropocenem w najszerszym tego słowa znaczeniu, a zatem sztywnym zespoleniem ekonomii społecznych i geologicznych?

http://dx.doi.org/10.5007/2175-8026.2017v70n2p93Um número crescente de pesquisas sobre o humano tem tido a atenção voltada para trabalhos na área biotecnológica, em busca de uma compreensão contemporânea dos atributos humanos, tradicionalmente associados ao abstrato, ao filosófico. Não obstante seu emprego predominante e indiscutível imbricamento na área da geologia, o termo “antropoceno”, por sua vez, vem sendo usado com cada vez mais frequência por pesquisadores e profissionais das mais variadas áreas para destacar como a humanidade está mudando nosso planeta. Ao convocar o conceito de antropoceno para este trabalho, meu intuito é de sinalizar o momento não somente geológico mas histórico e cultural. A realidade subjacente ao conceito lança a humanidade em uma seara de incerteza tanto científica quanto discursiva. Com isso em mente, propõe-se discutir a cena humana (a antropo-cena) a partir da ficção especulativa, levando em conta o papel da linguagem e da representação na construção do (pós)humano, frente ao desastre, ao biopoder e à biopolítica.

The dialogicity of traditions in the work of A. P. Antropov has not previously been given due attention by researchers. For the first time, the article attempts to consider it as a significant component of the portraitists artistic language. To demonstrate this hypothesis, the authors examine both major and little-known works about which critics have given conflicting evaluations. The authors conclude that the dialogic nature of traditions in A.P. Antropovs portrait painting expresses the essence of his work, which was due to the historical and political specifics of the era, Catherine IIs aesthetic preferences, and the artistic priorities of the painter himself.

Syftet med artikeln är att skapa kunskap om hur återbruk kan förstås som didaktisk verksamhet. Artikelns forskningsfrågor är (1) Vad är ett möjligt undervisningsinnehåll om återbruk? (2) Hur kan detta återbruksinnehåll förstås i relation till vår samtid antropocen: vad är det som förs vidare och på vilket sätt? En fallstudie utifrån slöjdlärares erfarenheter av att arbeta med återbruk görs i artikeln. Baserat på 58 slöjdlärares beskrivningar av återbruk, identifieras sju återbruksteman: reuse, reduce, recycle, remake, repair, refuse och reverse engineering. Resultatet beskriver konkret vad dessa teman innebär och vad det är som återbrukas. Därefter diskuteras resultatet med hjälp av ett slöjdteoretiskt ramverk, skill/deskill/ reskill, för att synliggöra hur återbruksinnehållet kan förstås i relation till vår samtid antropocen. Denna diskussion beskriver att det som återbrukas inte bara sammanflätas med historien, utan tar också ny form och förändras. Artikeln avslutas med en diskussion om utmaningar och möjligheter när återbruk görs till ett undervisningsinnehåll, både för slöjdundervisning specifikt och för återbruksundervisning generellt.

Jak twierdzi Martín Caparrós, „ekologia urasta do rangi znaku naszych czasów, czasów bez pomysłu na przyszłość”. Świetną ilustrację tej tezy stanowi interdyscyplinarna debata na temat propozycji E.F. Stoermera i P.J. Crutzena, którzy z uwagi na skalę i zakres ludzkich ingerencji w systemy planetarne zasugerowali, by współczesną epokę geologiczną nazwać antropocenem – epoką człowieka. Naukowcy zatroskani skalą obecnego kryzysu planetarnego formułują kolejne już ostrzeżenia dla ludzkości. Czy rzeczywiście antropocen to epoka bez pomysłu na przyszłość? Utraciliśmy rafy koralowe, stabilność klimatu, pory roku, poszczególne gatunki, a nawet naturę. Jak rozumieć tezę o utracie przyszłości w epoce człowieka? Jak się wydaje, nieprzekraczalną blokadą dla myślenia o przyszłości w XXI wieku jest dominacja myślenia rynkowego. W jego ramach horyzont inwestycyjny to najwyżej 20–30 lat. Czy ignorowanie kosztów klimatycznych i środowiskowych rozwoju współczesnych gospodarek nie świadczy o braku wyobraźni i zbiorowym wyparciu samej idei przyszłości? Czy ryzyko nagłej zmiany klimatycznej nie kwestionuje myślenia linearnego i dotychczasowego, zachodniego pojmowania czasu? W artykule szukam odpowiedzi na powyższe pytania, opierając się na wcześniejszej analizie wybranych narracji w debacie na temat antropocenu. Należą do nich: 1) naturalistyczna narracja przyrodoznawców (E. Stoermer, P. Crutzen, W. Steffen, J. Zalasiewicz, J. Rockström), 2) narracja humanistów w nurcie postnaturalizmu: D. Haraway, B. Latour, I. Stengers, D. Chakrabarty, 3) dyskurs eko-marksistowski, operujący etykietką kapitalocenu i krytyczny wobec etykietki antropocenu: J. Moore, I. Angus, A. Hornborg, A. Malm, C. Abstract:

Förskolebarnet har historiskt setts som utvecklings- och framtidsprojekt i strävan för ett bättre samhälle. I den senaste Läroplan för förskolan (Skolverket, 2018) har det politiska begreppet hållbar utveckling (HU) lagts till både i förskolans värdegrund och i förtydligande målskrivningar. I denna artikel presenteras en narrativ studie om förskolans utbildning med fokus på förskolans roll ochförskolebarns lärande i antropocen. Studien har en kritisk teoretisk bas där empirin utgörs av förskollärares berättelser om sitt arbete med utbildning för hållbarhet i förskolan. Kritisk forskning om utbildning för hållbarhet har gett stöd i analysen av förskollärarnas narrativa berättelser. Specifikt har frågor om vilka kunskaper som ses som avgörande kunskapsinnehåll för förskolebarn och vilken roll förskolan har i den tid som definieras som antropocen studerats. Resultatet visar att antropocen som begrepp inte används i förskollärarnas beskrivningar av utbildningen. Dock, framträder i deras berättelser en utbildning där arbetet för en hållbar jord ses som ett grundläggande innehåll och där barns lärande innebär att lära om hållbar resurshantering, källsortering och att lära i och om naturen. Slutligen ger en svag styrning och ledarskap sig tillkänna där hållbar utveckling som begrepp inte ger stöd för tolkningar och förståelser om att arbeta i en utmanande tid i relationen människa och natur.

Abstract:

Esse artigo tem por objetivo explorar certas controvérsias relativas à mudança climática a partir de enquadramento crítico influenciado por recentes debates metodológicos sobre a história do Direito Internacional. Nos últimos anos, o provável começo de uma nova era geológica denominada Antropocene vem recebendo considerável atenção da parte de historiadores. Sua principal premissa é que as atividades humanas na Terra desde a Revolução Industrial seriam equivalentes a uma força telúrica. Tal premissa ressoa na teoria historiográfica e adquire apelo global. Primeiro, o artigo argumenta que o Antropoceno guarda conexões intrínsecas com a formação da sociedade internacional moderna. Por meio de lentes anacrônicas, as contribuições da literatura pós-colonial à história do Direito Internacional descortinam formas de colonialismo e imperialismo, porquanto representam dimensões problemáticas de problemas atuais atinentes ao pensamento jurídico internacional e à justiça global. Em conclusão, o artigo contempla uma estimativa da viabilidade de teleologias progressistas históricas ao fazer defender a viabilidade da expansão do horizonte de expectativas como forma de contabilizar leituras menos otimistas quanto ao futuro.

Abstract:

Artikelns syfte är att skapa medvetenhet om den tyska idealismens påverkan på didaktiskt tänkande, både när det gäller undervisningsinnehåll och specifikt när undervisningsinnehåll förstås i relation till antropocen. Artikeln är strukturerad så att den belyser de två aspekter som ingår i artikelns titel: kopplingen mellan didaktik och idealism, samt undervisningsobjektets status och antropocen. Den första aspekten rör kopplingen mellan didaktiken och idealismen. Här kommer artikeln påvisa idealismens påverkan på didaktiskt tänkande. Jag argumenterar för att idealismens arv lett till att undervisningsobjektet reduceras till ett undervisningsinnehåll i didaktiskt tänkande. Den andra aspekten rör vikten av att återupptäcka undervisningsinnehållet i antropocen. Det är i relation till antropocen som jag argumenterar för vikten av att göra en åtskillnad mellan undervisningsinnehållet och undervisningsobjektet.

Not-quite-agency. Anthropocene and Modernist Dreams The article deals with the issue of tension between management and unplanned consequences that result from it. By recalling the works of Anna Tsing, I indicate that management based on the modernist rationality led to the Anthropocene defined as the era of feral effects. The full agency of man, which is at the basis of modernist thinking about human-environment relations, is presented in the article as a myth. In fact, the actions leading to the Anthropocene were of the nature of not-quite-agency – their consequences were beyond the domain of human control. The article also deals with the issues of management in the Anthropocene itself, pointing out that global attempts to overcome the environmental crisis are also marked by not-quite-agency, which – in order to protect against possible negative side effects – requires inclusion in the design process by thinking about the internal resilience of the system.

Żyjemy w epoce wielkich przemian spowodowanych przez człowieka zarówno w geologii Ziemi, jak i w ekosystemach. Zmiany te są na tyle istotne, że jesteśmy świadkami narodzin nowej epoki, antropocenu. Epoka ta napędzana jest „Wielkim Przyspieszeniem”, w którym wzrostowi ulega przede wszystkim populacja ludzka, co skutkuje w drastycznym zwiększeniu zapotrzebowania na energię, ziemię i wodę. Rozrastająca się populacja ludzka wkracza na tereny dotąd zamieszkiwane przez inne organizmy i wypiera je z ich naturalnych siedlisk. Doprowadziło to do szóstego wielkiego wymierania i insektagedonu. Tempo przemian jakim ulega obecnie biosfera jest bardzo szybkie i niewątpliwe należy podjąć odpowiednie działania zmierzające do ochrony Ziemi i organizmów żywych.

Abstract:

O artigo teve por objetivo discorrer sobre os incêndios Pantanal a partir de duas modalidades do uso do fogo: a primeira performada por sociedades caçadoras-coletoras (tomando como pano de fundo, sobretudo, a etnia indígena yanomami) e a segunda performada por uma lógica de expansão capitalista e colonialista. Apreciamos as queimadas yanomami a partir do que Anna Tsing classifica como “perturbações lentas” e os incêndios à serviço do capital a partir do que a autora classifica como “perturbações rápidas”. Com isso, investigamos as condições e os potenciais dos modos de “habitar”, conforme a noção desenvolvida por Tim Ingold, tendo em vista essas duas modalidades. Argumentamos que há uma linha de continuidade que perpassa tanto as fumaças dos incêndios à serviço do capital quanto as “fumaças” que constituem a pandemia do novo coronavírus de acordo com a cosmologia yanomami sobre a queda do céu ou fim do mundo. Ambas as “fumaças” também são caracterizadas como eventos de “perturbação” rápida. Por fim, foi considerada a possibilidade de um devir-onça e de um devir-indígena a partir da noção de “devir-animal” tratada por Gilles Deleuze e Félix Guattari como maneiras de “segurar” o céu. A nivel global, hemos pasado -sin advertirlo- del homo economicus al Antropoceno. El homo economicus está orientado a la obtención de la máxima ganancia a toda costa (ello, en general, lleva acompañados los procesos de enriquecimiento y empobrecimiento); desconoce la condición humana y condición natural hacia la compasión que todos y cada uno de los seres humanos llevamos dentro. En palabras de Naomi Klein 1 es “el capitalismo contra el clima”. La teoría y práctica económica-humana dominante es la imposición de esta figura productivista, consumista, individualista y excluyente. Incluso, se llega a tal punto de estigmatizar otros comportamientos económicos, políticos, sociales y culturales distintos, al estilo de Toffler, 2 con la radical denominación de “pusilánimes”: descartables o excluidos. Detrás de ello, la vieja noción de la naturaleza como materia prima y también la nueva noción extractivista, han dado lugar a la era del Antropoceno, digamos, manifiesta en una especie humana destructora (auto – destructora) y sin límites. Este no es un juego de los dueños de los bienes de producción, de los dueños de las máquinas; es un juego perverso de los dueños de la naturaleza, de los dueños del mundo. Y cada país genera -a su vez- sus propios dueños y como espejo sus propias crisis. Al Antropoceno institucionalizado le podemos llamar “destrucción creadora”: Schumpeterismo.3

En este trabajo relevo algunos conceptos particulares que se desarrollaron en distintos campos disciplinares desde fines del siglo XX y principios del siglo XXI, y los coloco en diálogo con la epistemología, para sostener que se puede tematizar una “epistemología del riesgo” con elementos actuales. Así, una serie de nuevos términos fueron generados en diversas áreas científicas y filosóficas desde la década de 1970 hasta el presente para dar cuenta conceptualmente de algunas de las problemáticas propias de nuestra época. Entre ellas podemos encontrar: antropoceno, ecocidio, biocidio, geocidio, defaunación, americanización del mundo, sexta extinción masiva de especies, polución espacial, catástrofes de lesa ambientalidad e impacto antrópico. Estos a su vez, pueden vincularse con la clásica idea de sociedad del miedo. Es posible afirmar que tales términos configuran un panorama epistemológico relativamente reciente y problemático, que se complejiza aún más incorporando el nivel de análisis macro que proporciona la teoría de la (co)evolución biológica. Propongo, entonces, que este panorama puede ser entendido como una nueva epistemología del riesgo antrópico.

Abstract:

The aim of the article is to analyse the metaphor of the garden as a metaphor which allows one to give an account of the conditions of the Earth subject to human actions and –more importantly –to sketch a utopian project of going beyond the Anthropocene. A new understanding of the garden modifies the traditional view of it as a paradise, where a harmony between humans and nature reigns. Today, gardens are often approached as places of cooperation, negotiation as well as of tensions and conflicts among human beings and other-than-human beings, that is as places where numerous relationships create a human and other-than-human community. The analyses will start with an interpretation of Alan Sonfist’s Time Landscape (1978–), a public park in Manhattan that was conceived of as a reconstruction of the local precolonial landscape and at the same time as its monument. Sonfist’s work is a good illustration of how the metaphor of the garden is nowadays interpreted and –I contend –it may be also seen as a monument of the Anthropocene.

El “Antropoceno”, definido como una nueva época geológica caracterizada por la huella humana global sobre el Sistema Tierra, se ha convertido en un término muy usado en una gran variedad de disciplinas. Sin embargo, todavía hay una serie de ideas equivocadas sobre el origen y la validez científica de este término. Un error muy común es pensar que el término y el concepto de “Antropoceno” se originaron a principios de este siglo, pero la verdad es que este concepto ya estaba plenamente desarrollado hace más de 140 años. Otra equivocación frecuente es considerar que el “Antropoceno” ya es un término geológico formal, cuando la realidad es que el proceso de su formalización como una nueva época de la Escala del Tiempo Geológico ni siquiera ha empezado. Otro aspecto muy poco tratado es la importancia del futuro cultural y evolutivo de nuestra especie en la eventual definición de una nueva época geológica como el “Antropoceno”. En este ensayo se discuten estos aspectos para una audiencia no especializada. Las posibles consecuencias de la presión humana incontrolada sobre el Sistema Tierra y la necesidad de reconsiderar nuestra relación con el planeta no se discuten aquí. El ensayo está centrado, únicamente, en la utilización de este argumento para proponer que hemos entrado en una nueva época de la Escala del Tiempo Geológico.

Abstract This article proposes an aggiornamento of the “sustainable development” ideal. It addresses four controversial terms, which enable us to foresee that “sustainable development” will very likely become the first utopia of the Anthropocene epoch. Taking into account the Agenda 2030, if the decision criteria are based on the rhetoric of international relations, particularly as used within the framework of the United Nations, it can certainly be concluded that sustainable development has already become the great contemporary utopia. However, if global governance is used as the criterion, this may not be the case, since environmental governance institutions are not yet comparable to development governance institutions. Strictly speaking, there is no global governance of sustainability, unless this notion is restricted to environmental issues.

As forças externas que controlam a dinâmica da Terra têm sido as astronômicas e geofísicas, durante quase toda a existência de 4,5 bilhões de anos do planeta. Nas últimas seis décadas, as forçantes antrópicas êm provocado taxas de mudança excepcionalmente rápidas. Este novo regime foi representado por uma "Equação do Antropoceno", na qual a forçante antrópica se torna comparável às forçantes naturais ou até mesmo dominante em relação a elas.. Uma das consequências das mudanças antrópicas é o aquecimento global. Os geógrafos decidiram, até agora, não tomar parte ativa dessa discussão. No entanto, a gravidade da situação exige outra atitude dos geógrafos, para ajudar a evitar uma catástrofe global de caráter ambiental e social. Este artigo apresenta reflexões sobre essas situações, tendo como metodologia a análise de material sobre o tema.

Recordings of the environment and works by sound artists are given consideration with respect to their affective potential, their ability to influence us and our emotions, to shape a more responsible attitude to the environment that we inhabit together with the nonhuman agents.

O presente artigo apresenta resultados preliminares de um estudo que lanca mao das duas especies de ratos urbanos cosmopolitas – rato de telhado (Rattus rattus – Lineu, 1758) e ratazana (Rattus norvegicus - Berkenhout, 1769) – para conduzir a exploracao de problemas de pesquisa ligados ao conceito de Antropoceno. Analiso o Antropoceno em dois eixos narrativos. No primeiro, Antropoceno-como-problema, avalio a urbanizacao e suas implicacoes ambientais sob a expressao-sintese “ratos e cidades”. No segundo, Antropoceno-como-agenda, defendo a importancia da perspectiva multiespecies e sua relacao obrigatoria com a transdisciplinaridade, sob a expressao-sintese “superacao do antropocentrismo”. Sustento que a plasticidade adaptativa e identitaria dos ratos, assim como suas caracteristicas de organismos de fronteiras, credenciam esses animais como “vetores epistemologicos” capazes de conduzir leitores e pesquisadores pela teia viva e labirintos narrativos do Antropoceno.
