Full textThe prodigious development of sports during the last 25 years is accompanied by an extension of the concept of dissimilar practices. Athletics, classical national sports, and leisure sports should be distinguished from each other. In our thesis, after having proposed a diachronical model of the reationship between these 3 categories and having listed the different work accomplished in the psychology and sociology of sports we propose a model describing the path taken by the subject in the frawork of the classical national sports and analyse the manner in wich athletics function, as well the particularities of leisure sports. The large factors wich direct the choice of the subject is studied. Culture first : research on the differentiated succes of countries in the olympic games showed that two sport ethics oppose each other. Environmental influence is theexamined. The social class to wich the subject belongs, his family, school prove to be pimordial elements. The media represents a powerful factor of influence in our civilisation the most important chaptor of the thesis is dedicated to this role, and several cases are presented - notably one conducted on a repre- sentative sample of the french population. This case clealy shows the impact of a series of television programs on the attitude of those who watch them. Finally, personal factors are examined. The role of women's condition are studied on the men and women of the french selection at the los angeles olympic games (1984). The study of the personality ends the thesis. A series of case stu- dies reveal that the classical approach with personality questionna- ries is inefficient. To conclude, we propose a few means of action for the teacher

Full textThis work is an expert analysis of the orienting activity of professional midfield soccer players when they have not the ball in a set up attack situation. It is about a simulationnist approach with aims two goals: -to move on to a global explanation of the subjects cognitive functioning. - to develop a preliminary reflection to the realization of a computerised expert system able to pilot a player in a simulated game phasis. In choosing the expert analysis one formulates the hypothesis that subjects orienting activity is essentially built on knowledges. In accordance with the expert analysis focused on the psychological activities of speed process behaviours in dynamic environments one supposes that these knowledges can be of different types (strategic, tactic) and of a schematic nature. The method used combines systematic observation (of the situations and of the behaviours face to them) and verbal data collected facing the video-tape. It aims to uncover the knowledges used by the subject and the level of processing where they run. The results of the observations make appear regular associations between situations and behaviours. Nevertheless each situation is frequently linked to several behaviours (always the same) and the strengh of these associations can varie according to the situations. The schematas (knowledges) model is proposed to interpret these facts. The verbal data, in accordance with the observations already done on the experts, suggest a low consciousness level of the observed regularities. This allows to suppose that the knowledges used are highly automated. The results interpretation leads to a cognitive competence model outline of the subjects orienting activity

Full textConceptions on physical education can be considered as a kaleidoscope of different ways of viewing and conceiving our teaching. We are interested in what we call the different "trends" in the 20th century. Our approach is multiple. First it is historical in so far as one of its objectives is to take into account the changes occured in the conceptions of physical education in the course of time and to locate these conceptions in relation with particular characteristics of a given period. Secondly our approach is sociological : we study this subject as a social system with own mode of functioning and producing knowledge, its actors, interactions, conflicts and struggles. Finally, it is epistemological, since we intend to analyse the production of knowledge in the special sphere of physical education. Six trends are thus being studied: ratinal gymnastics by G. Demeny, la ligue d'education physique de P. Tissie, G. Hebert's natural method, educational sport by the sportive and gymnic federation of work, Jean le Boulch's psychocinetics and the trend of motor action by P. Parlebas. The main question is to make out the positive points about each of these trends. An analysis of contents of a carefully chosen corpus leads to defining three study indicators : a thematic indicator (considering the main themes), a semantic indicator (listing the recurring words used by each author), a referential indicator (collecting a groupe of quotations). Owing to these indicators the main tendencies of each trend are determined and then placed again in a historical and sociological context in order to analyse the logics of the production of knowledge. Finally, the different trends are compared to each other thanks to operational comparison creteria. The comparison results in underscoring the faults and dead-ends of each conception, for P. E. Both as a school discipline as well as a university subject (the sciences and techniques of physical and sportive activities). The trend of motor action is the only one escaping it, while opening a nex way to a true epistemology producing new specific knowledge

Full textOur study is based on the analysis of professorial judgement in PE from school marks and school report comments. According to sociology of curriculum (Forquin, 1989), the theories of reproduction (Bourdieu & Passeron, 1970) and a constructivist view of sex (Constantinople, 1973/1986 ; Beni, 1978/1986), we try to reveal mechanisms of professorial judgement production in physical education. We specially investigate effects of sex, gender, social origins, by analysing an elite high-school. Our results show significant effects on school marks and school report comments. Those bias seem to exist in PE and in every disciplines. We think there is a masculine hidden curriculum, which favour some high schooler in the studied institution

Full textThis research aims to establish a relationship between the personnel and body expertise of the physical education and sport (PES) teacher within a sport and physical activity and its teaching within the context of Didactic Clinical Analysis of the teacher knowledge. We will favor the singularity and the sense which consider the knowledge of the subject (Chevallard, 1989, Charlot, 1997, Beillerot & al, 1996). The specificity of the discipline PES, the body place, the anchorage praxeologic of knowledge, will focus particularly on the link of the physical sport activity (PSA) and the link to the body. We will focus on the issue of the expertise (Durand, 2000, Giordan, 1993, Tochon, 1993) which became crucial for the teaching of PES and we will present comprehensive elements and sense to many links to teacher's knowledge of PES through this notion. We estimate that the subjectivity of the teacher (own history and singular trajectory) not only define its own personnel link to the knowledge of the specialist but also set up the content and pedagogy of the teaching according to its own skills and well distinguish the teaching of unskilled. Another PSA will not have the same logic. We will follow a qualitative approach through an exploratory research based on clinical case study that we have realized with four PES teachers. Methodology of research include side observation and interviews guidelines (structured and semi structured interviews). Through these four case studies, we have put in evidence their intersections, the significance of the body " print " (trace) in the teaching of PES in general and didactic analysis of PSA in particular

Full textThe aim of this thesis is to analyze, with both an epistemic and transformative goal, the PE teachers’ activity in interdisciplinary devices — their actions, focus, preoccupations and typical knowledge — versus students’ perceptions of it. This work is conducted within the theoretical and methodological framework of the course of action (Theureau, 2004, 2006). Three interdisciplinary devices have been studied : the first, at the junction of PE, Technology and Mathematics, finalized by the creation of Android © applications ; the second, alternates between PE and French literature in which students live and communicate on different kinds of emotions experienced in open-air physical and sports activities, and the third in which students create an English tutorial on a muscle building strengthening exercises of their choice. From the analysis of the various data collected (PE lessons, self-confrontation interviews and ethnographic notes), results highlight (1) teachers’ actions, focus, preoccupations and typical knowledge during transversal moments; (2) cross-curricularism’s forms, functions and educational finalities carried out by teachers; (3) temporalities of the transversal moments on the scale of lesson and teaching sequence; and (4) correlations and divergences between the intended educational finalities of the PE teacher and the students’ perceptions. These results are discussed in view of the knowledge already exists about this thematic in the scientific literature; but also in a transformative aim, so that teachers and future teachers wishing to engage in transversal devices can find clues to become more efficient in their daily practices

Full textAlthough physical education had been a medical discipline from the beginning of the 20 th century, after the Libération, in a institutional context favorable to the scholastic norms, the young instructors of ENSEP boys developed a new understanding of physical education as a scholl subject. An analysis of the contents of the journal Les Notes techniques de l'ENSEP allows one to understand the origine of this new method and to follow its spread. After 1945, the spread of this pedagogic approach was relatively swift. The weakening of Swedish gymnastics and the disappearance of Hebertism's audience aided its emergence. The creation of the Ecole normale for girls in 1946 and foreign influences slowed its spread without interruping it. The period betwen 1940 and 1950 was anbiguous, as eclecticists continued to resit. After 1950, this method of physical education spreads to nearly the entire professional world

Full textIf the relationship between anxiety and performance has been the subject of numerous studies in sports psychology, diversity of results makes it difficult to conclude as to the exact nature of this relationship, particularly in view of taking into account the existence different forms of anxiety (cognitive anxiety, somatic anxiety, self-confidence) and the variety of methods employed to measure. This research, conducted among a sample of Moroccan athletes consisting of footballers and middle distance runners short (800 and 1500 meters), therefore proposes to deepen the knowledge about the relationship between precompetitive situational anxiety (ASP) and athletic performance while taking into account, in several specific studies, the main limitations identified and recommendations made in the scientific literature. A preliminary study will primarily assess the psychometric properties of the different measures of anxiety and positive affective states, to test the existence of links between these measures and determine whether they can be linked to certain sports characteristics. A second study will propose to determine whether ASP predictors factors can be considered stable or on the contrary they depend on the performance of implementation context, distinguished by the good performance of poor performance. A third study to identify key predictors of athletic performance will attempt to determine the respective weight of dispositional characteristics, experiences and past performances and emotional states while differentiating the objective performance indicators and subjective performance indicators. A fourth study will propose to test the effectiveness of a specific program of preparation on anxiety and positive emotional states as well as sports performance. The results, based on the consideration of the most valid ASP measures, show that (1) the predictors of ASP are not the same when the sport is experiencing good performance or poor performance; (2) cognitive ASP allows much better to predict athletic performance that characteristics of personality or past performance, and (3) VMBR type of mental preparation programs appear to be effective to reduce the level of ASP sports and improve their subjective performance. These results, discussed in light of the available scientific knowledge on this subject and the limitations inherent in the methodologies used in the context of this research will provide recommendations for the improvement of the psychological preparation of Moroccan athletes

Full textOur thesis research fits within the framework of sport science. Based on the exploration of physical and physiological characteristics, technical and physical performance achieved by the French Rugby 7’s team, were studied through the analysis of international tournaments. In the first study, we observe the impact of contextual variables on the physical and technical performance of players during a Rugby 7’s game. The results demonstrate that the level of the opponent and the match result influence the activity of players. Players are likely to perform better physically during a game for which the outcome is favorable. They increase the total distance run in a game against a weaker opponent. For the first time in Rugby 7’s, we were able to show that technical performance is also affected whilst playing against a stronger opponent as there is a decrease in the number of passes and the number of situations where players are ball carriers.Through a physiological approach, the second study focuses on the individual metabolic responses of players during an international Rugby 7’s tournament. The results show a significant relationship between lactate concentrations and peaks activity recorded in the last three minutes of play, suggesting the ability to provide energy via the glycolytic pathway as a fundamental requirement in this sport. Also, the acid-base balance significantly changes towards the end of a game showing that Rugby 7’s players must be able to tolerate a high level of acidosis because the high amount of energy needed for games at an international level. Finally, our last study focuses on high intensity actions done during a Rugby 7’s game. The results show that a player does on average ~26 high intensity actions per game. In addition and for the first time in this sport, we show that approximately 4 sequences of repeated high intensity actions are recorded in a game, the average duration is 40 seconds and includes a time of recovery of under 9 seconds. Thus, Rugby 7’s may be considered as a team sport of repeated high intensity actions. To conclude, this thesis will allow Rugby 7’s coaches and fitness coaches, to better plan and prepare specific trainings that would be adapted to Rugby 7’s

Full textThis thesis has analyzed, in the course of Physical Education (PE) lessons, the interactions between the ordinary objects and trainee teachers and pupils. It has been led with reference to the trendof the situated approach. It aimed a suggesting a modelling of ordinary object's argentivity during PE. Lessons, and at setting out suggestions taking into account these objects in the PE. Teachers'training. Audio and video recording data were collected in the course of lessons in various sportsand supplemented with provoked verbalizations obtained during self-confrontation interviews with the teachers. On the basis of these data, we have rebuilt, step by step and for each lesson, the teachers'activity dynamics. This reconstruction consisted in giving information to the different players when they were using or handling objects, about what meaningful to them in the situation, about their interests, their concerns, and expectations. From this reconstruction, we identified and characterized regularity elements concerning the function of objectsin the collective articulation of the teachers and pupill'activity, and in the teachers'activity itself. .

Hunting, fishing and colleting of fruits in the contemporary French society are the main activities we analyse. The widespread picture of a uniformity of practices actually conceal the diversity of social patterns existing. Our data are principally based o interviews (68 peoples interviewed) and ethnological observations. The sociological analyses developed are both qualitative (case studies) and quantitative (statistical and factual). .

Full textValues orientation (VO) represents teachers’ educational beliefs. They are implemented through curricular decisions made by physical education (PE) teachers. In PE research literature, five VO have been identified: disciplinary mastery, learning process, self-actualization, social responsibility and ecological integration. We know little about how teachers’ VO influences their teaching process. Although teachers’ VO can be described, it’s still a challenge to explain how they play out in their daily decision-making and practices. In order to understand the influence of teachers’ VO in the teaching process, we designed a teaching model. This model integrates those perspectives on value orientations and teaching practice. It focuses on teaching practices in order to understand underneath teachers’ VO and how these VO affect teaching practice back. The goal of this research is to underlined features of teaching practice influenced by teachers’ VO through a deep description of teaching model. We used a qualitative research design with inductive approach. This research was conducted with two participants. Data were collected with the help of a questionnaire, repeated interviews and deferred video observations. Informed consent was obtained prior to data collection. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (questionnaire and video) and thematic content analysis (interviews).Data revealed that Coline’s mastery disciplinary and Sandrine’s self-actualization value orientations influence their teaching practices in pre-intervention, intervention and post-intervention. We showed they used their own values orientation to selecting and understanding their educational environment and also to define their teaching making process. These results contribute to develop knowledge about the influence of value orientations in professional practices in PE teaching and development of PE teachers

Full textPhysical education teachers’ formation in Quebec as in France is oriented to develop professional competencies. Cooperative teachers supervise student-teachers and are considered key-players. In this comparative study, we analyzed the cooperative teacher’s supervision practices during a 7 week practicum in Quebec and a 7 month practicum in France. We use a double theoretical framework to study student-teacher’s supervision. The first one is the classroom ecology paradigm in physical education from North America and allows to understand all the events of the life in the gym. The second one is a didactic approach from francophone Europe and looks at the events in the gym in relation with the content knowledge. This double framework is used to understand what happens during post-lesson interviews between cooperative teachers and student teachers. It also allows to quantify and qualify the content of the supervision in both countries. In order to understand the singularity of each context, we use data from phone interviews and semi-directed interviews with cooperative teachers and student teachers. Results show that in both cases, supervision intensity is low during the practicum (less than 20 minutes each week). 48 % of the post-lesson discussions are related to the content knowledge, 25 % to the organization and 16 % to the social interactions between students. Our second level, based on didactic approach, demonstrates that discussions about content knowledge are associated to “contrat didactique” and “milieu didactique”. We also show that cooperative teachers do not look at student-teachers’ lesson plan and they do not know the professional competencies that student teachers must develop during the internship. Our research on conditions and contents of supervision in two cases shows difficulties on several aspects. First, the supervision conditions seem to be insufficient in the Quebec case and in the French case to allow cooperative teachers to look professionally and with a formative intervention on student-teachers practices. The lack of cooperative teacher’s formation on professional competencies may explain this tendency. Content knowledge is the main subject during the post-lesson discussions. Task system from ecology paradigm combined with didactic descriptors is a new approach in physical education research and it is the focal point of this research. The present thesis contributes to the advancement of research on student-teachers’ supervision from the diversity of data collection and allows to understand what happens during the last practicum of the physical education teacher’s formation

Full textThis work questions the articulation between federal and local sport policies, considered as a component of sport’ multi-level governance. It seeks to identify the topics, scales and factors which characterize federal-local relations. To do so, this doctoral thesis strongly draws from inductive methods, insofar as it aims to “dive into the heart” of these relations, in different contexts and levels.A first part takes place in a context of reform of the French governance of sport, instituted in 2018. It justifies to analyze the role played by the groups which represent federal and local sporting interests in this process. A second part questions national sports federations and local authorities’ bilateral relations: notably the determinants of their collaborations and conflicts. It develops a framework which suggests to analyze these relationships as an interactive process operating in a specific local context. It identifies the collaboration’s leveraging factors, e.g. the hosting of major events or the social profile of political leaders. The results have been confronted with a case study of the SaintQuentin-en-Yvelines Agglomeration’ sport policy, because of its partnerships contracted with the French federations of Cycling and Golf. The study treats the partnerships as a “product” of the local sport policy. With the cases of the Olympic Games and the Ryder Cup, this work puts in light the paradoxical role of major sporting event on local sport development. It leverages – opening a policy window – the ability for a national federation and a local authority to collaborate, while it opens new constraints for the structuration of these partnerships in the long run

Full textThis research on Togo is aimed at contributing to the resolution of sports development problems and addressing its challenges in francophone African countries. The approach employed is multidisciplinary and comparative, based on the methods of sports geography. Moreover, it revisits key historical milestones in a Togolese context.Since the early twentieth century, the impact of three colonial dominations (German, English and French) was responsible for the origin, establishment and dissemination of sports in Togo. After 1960, the year of independence, sports development in continuity with the legacy of French colonial rule, was supported by the state and became a tool of social control by the authoritarian, military-style regime. The analysis of the current state of sports in Togo shows the centralization of state action on elite sports, the deployment of different sports markets and the emergence of different social phenomena such as appropriation and communal support.Comparison of the differences in methods of propagation identified in Togo and those at work in former West African French colonies such as Benin and Senegal exposes new opportunities: the use of physical activities, both traditional and modern for social mobilization and the maintenance of a sports elite. Both of which are complimentary and necessary for the development of sports for the long term

Full textThe development of social sport politics in the town of Nice highlights for the collectivity certain social choices which tend to be directed among two principal trends: the first trend is determined through an educational program policy considered as a vector for socialisation (sport practices linked to collegial, social or independant sport). The second trend is determined by a prestige policy aiming at enhancing the town image, at developping a local identity through the show and the professionnal sports. This is done for economic as well as political reasons. Hence, our thought has been focused on the matter of social spaces offered by the town of Nice. It is based as well on the financial aids granted to the sport practices projects. We have in particular checked the sports equipments of this town and their use, on both levels diachronique and synchronique. The availability of the human means necessary to cover the sport practices and the financial support received are some important indicators of the sport policy situation of the town. Other than these quantitative & space aspects, the analysis of the relationship established between the teams and the Community has appeared as a vital adding element to the understanding of the dynamic social sport life in Nice

Full textThis doctoral thesis studies within the joint action theory in didactics the evolution of a teacher’s practical epistemology that has no expertise in dance. The analysis is in relation with teacher continuing professional learning sessions he followed during three years. A longitudinal six years analysis was conducted using a multi-dimensional approach of observational data lessons. At a first step the didactical system of professional learning sessions was studied. The second step concerns the observation of teacher’s practice in a middle school during physical education classes (students: 11 to 12 years). Two scales were used: the first macro-didactic scale describes the practices and the knowledge enacted by the teacher all over the years and contributes to define “learning games” which are in relation with choreographic artworks. The second micro-didactic scale examines in details the teacher’s relationships to choreographic artworks during four learning games. The findings show that the knowledge to be taught and learned as proposed during the professional learning sessions is remodeled and mobilized in singular ways during the joint action with students. All of this contributing to teacher’s practical epistemology moves

Full textOne of the aims of European education policies in terms of professional training of pre-service teachers consists inconsolidating partnerships between universities and schools. At the scientific level, most studies emphasize the importance of strengthening the collaboration between trainers in both institutions through training programs based on the model of the “communities of practice” (Lave & Wenger, 1991). However, those studies do not really specify the nature of the activities organized in such programs. This study aims at analyzing the training activities of a team of trainers and their consequences on the professional training of pre-service teachers. It leans on a way of reading professional training of pre-service teachers (Bertone, 2011 ; Chaliès, 2012) which borrows some premises from a more global theory about learning (Nelson, 2008) and collective action (Wittgenstein, 2004). This way of reading is structured around three training activities : (i) teaching rules to enable pre-service teachers to give meaning to their experience and behave differently in class ; (ii) adjusting situations and checking the first instances of rule-following to enable them to observe the expected results; (iii) working along with them by helping them to interpret the rules they have learnt. This study was conducted together with two training teams in Physical Education. Every team was made up of one pre-service teacher and several trainers. They were created during training visits. Two sorts of data were gathered : audio and video recordings (of the lessons and of post-lesson interviews that had followed) ; self-confrontation data. Those information were analyzed so as to identify the rules that had been learnt and / or followed by the actors in order to give meaning to their activities in every step of the program. Results mainly show the significance, for the team of trainers, in : (i) carrying out a ostensive teaching activity (together with, possibly, an explanation), to enable the pre-service teachers to check if the first instances of rule-following are respected as they had planned ; (ii) adjusting class situations to make it easier to observe the results expected from the rules he would have taught beforehand ; (iii) working along with them in their professional development by helping them to use these very rules to new circumstances

Full textIn this thesis, we are interested in the characterization and fine-grained analysis of sports gestures in videos, and more particularly in non-intrusive 3D analysis using a single camera. Our case study is table tennis. We propose a method for reconstructing 3D ball positions using a high-speed calibrated camera (240fps). For this, we propose and train a convolutional network that extracts the apparent diameter of the ball from the images. The knowledge of the real diameter of the ball allows us to compute the distance between the camera and the ball, and then to position the latter in a 3D coordinate system linked to the table. Then, we use a physical model, taking into account the Magnus effect, to estimate the kinematic parameters of the ball from its successive 3D positions. The proposed method segments the trajectories from the impacts of the ball on the table or the racket. This allows, using a physical model of rebound, to refinethe estimates of the kinematic parameters of the ball. It is then possible to compute the racket's speed and orientation after the stroke and to deduce relevant performance indicators. Two databases have been built: the first one is made of real game sequence acquisitions. The second is a synthetic dataset that reproduces the acquisition conditions of the previous one. This allows us to validate our methods as the physical parameters used to generate it are known. Finally, we present our participation to the Sport\&Vision task of the MediaEval challenge on the classification of human actions, using approaches based on the analysis and representation of movement

Full textThis thesis highlights two systems of school education within a single discipline of teaching (PES) through a comparative analysis. This research shows the convergent and divergent, points to study teaching and contextualizing acts and analyse the specificities of didactic interaction in the two territories. All this is so focused on this issue of study: "what are the specific effects of context on the evolution of knowledge in the classroom and on the conditions of their transmission. The main results are processed and analysed at two levels: macro and micro. For the macro, it is a comparative analysis of systems of school education and the organization of the PE in Haiti and Martinique based on different elements: the organization of schooling, the major educational reforms, the educational profile of teachers of the first two cycles of the fundamental school and elementary school, PE programs and physical, sports and artistic activities proposed. For the micro, it is a comparative analysis based on the curriculum said (before and after interviews) and the real curriculum (filmed lessons). This work of data collection is done in eight schools for a total of thirty classes, sixteen by territory. The selected levels are the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 6th fundamental years in Haiti and CP, CE2, CM1 and CM2 in Martinique. The distinction between macro-level and micro-level focuses on the contextual component of our study Thus, the macro is interested in the effects of the context and the microphone to the effects of context

Full textMore than forty years ago, Parlebas (1970) affirmed: « affectivity is the key to motor skill ». Many studies have concentrated on the verbalization of emotions in sports context? Before the game or after the game, the sportsman determines what he feels. Is it possible to suggest an approach that would come in line with existing ones in order to be interested in the emotions that arises during motor action? The aim of this work is to implement an observational methodology that preserves the ecological character of sport’s emotion. We consider it from the deciphering of the emotional mimics and the actions of the player. In support of the work of Frijda and Tcherkassof (1997), Tcherkassof (2008), Parlebas (1999), Collard (2004), Oboeuf (2010), we decrypt the emotions and the motor sub-role of player using facial expressions and tendency to action. As a first step, we create a test for recognition of sport’s facial expressions. We submit it to sport students in order to objectify capacities of decoding the faces. We see that the sporting specialty has an impact on performance. The results suggest that specialists in cooperative activities are good decoders. The opposition specialists "with limited motor aggressiveness" are quite good. The fighters are poor decoders despite they fully recognize the fear. Specialists in psychomotor activities are rather bad but not very much related to this skill of decoding. In a second step, we use the excellent decoders selected by our test so that they analyze videos of sportsmen in motor action. Thanks to an embedded camera, the faces of each player can be recorded and analyzed in two sociomotor games: the seated ball and the bear and his keeper. In a situational analysis grid, trained and selected observers retranscribe the prototypical facial expressions of an emotion and the sociomotor sub-roles that the player updates (Oboeuf, 2010). This grid is an emotional ludogram (Parlebas, 1999). The second type of results collected thought that method invite us to think that there are typical emotions inherent to certain actions. Before a sub-role, anger is related to powerful striking or shooting, while fear is interconnected with dodging. Following a replacement or a favorable brand interaction, the joy is a return on the game’s aim and the pain is consented by the play contract. As a process, the emotion allows the athlete to choose the driving behavior that he must implement. As a result of action, emotions are information about reaching the goal of the game. All of our results invite us to validate this methodology. It will now be necessary to repeat this type of study in many sports

Full textThe stake in this thesis is double: it is a question on one hand of producing knowledge on the process at work in the development of the professional activity of experimented physical education teacher, on the other hand to show that it is possible to transform conceptions and/or practices of training by making some work realized in class an object of thought and interlocution out of its context of realization. From the report of a professional difficulty, insufficient penetration of the contents of the in-service training in the daily practices of PE teachers, we led an intervention- research. Our action is inspired by a clinic of activity methodological frame. We have proceeded at crossed self- confrontations with the aim of assisting the professionals in them efforts "to work" their experience and resume the hand on problematic working situations. By associating trainers and trained in this approach, we allowed: on one hand, to make visible in the eyes of the trainers the reality of the activity of the trained; on the other hand to rediscover at the teacher's specialists of the manners to make and incorporated, often untold professional knowledge in training; the lighting so brought allowed to question in return, the contents and the practices of training; the job analysis of the teacher in its class so establishes a trapdoor to accede to second thought on the training and a way to rethink this one

Full textMany studies have demonstrated the interest of video-based training, but few have provided empirical evidence of its impact on the professional activity of novice teachers. The principal aim of this study was thus to investigate the activities in a video-based training program and assess their effects on the teaching activity of novice teachers. This study is part of a much broader research program on vocational training. The field of cultural anthropology, much inspired by Wittgenstein’s analytical philosophy (2004), provides the epistemological foundations for this work. The study was conducted within an innovative framework with alternating sequences of classroom teaching in the schools and video-based analysis at the university. The main results and the discussion provide evidence that video viewing aids in the development of certain normative capacities, thereby better equipping novice teachers to analyse their own or others’ teaching activity, as well as to plan and carry it out more effectively in the classroom. In certain circumstances, the experience lived during these video viewing sessions allows them to “approach” the experience of teaching without, however, actually substituting for it. The study also shows that using video sometimes increases the complexity of trainers’ activity and, more broadly, the construction of a veritable training collective
