Full textThe matter of this research is the perception of space through the surrounding sound world. This suggests an important factor of space appropriation by passers-by or residents, as well as the existence of a micro-psychology of the daily sound perception. "sound events" and "sound scenes" make up the texture of the town "soundscape". Their nature and their occurence build the city sound pattern. We develop here a methodology for the psycho-acoustical analysis of sound surroundings. So, we have recorded "soundwalks" that reveal the different ambiences of a district soundscape. The analysis of these sound walks is made through: 1) the sound balance triangle, that gives information about the temporal variations of the different sound patterns of a place ; 2) the spectral density integrator, that gives acoustic information concerning the sound atmosphere of these patterns. The morpho-typological description of sound objects is made through sonagraphy and sonoscopy (the study of shapes and spectral colouring of sound events). The psycho-perceptive and sensorial analysis of the recorded sound sequence is made through tests in "acousmatic" listening conditions and through interviews of resident. The procedure is as follows : we establish pregnancy listings, sound mental maps, a semantic differential profile (with 14 variables), and then we analyze the typical different ways of listening that determin the different perceptions of a same soundscape

Full textLandscape fragmentation increases resource distribution and constrains animal movements. Two kinds of adaptive strategy have been revealed in response to this selective pressure: an increase or a decrease of animal capacity and propensity to move. I studied the resistance strategy (i.e. increase of movements) which is poorly documented in the literature. To do so I focused on an organism facing the need to cross the matrix to achieve its life cycle (Bufo bufo). Only a few studies enable to disentangle phenotypic plasticity, maternal effect and evolution of movement characteristics. I used common garden rearing and cross-breeding experiments in order to focus on the evolutionary dimension of movement characteristics changes induced by landscape fragmentation. More precisely, I studied the evolution of navigation capacities by focusing on vector orientation, its evolutionary rate, its genetic basis, its magnetic basis and its influence on dispersal. I also studied the evolution of the exploratory behaviour in response to landscape fragmentation and searched for convergent evolution of this behaviour
Tantar, Emilia. "Analyse du paysage en optimisation combinatoire multi-objectif." Thesis, Lille 1, 2009. http://www.theses.fr/2009LIL10168.
Full textThe majority of real-life optimization problems (e.g. managing large infrastructures, the planning of resources for communities, cities or enterprises, etc.) are combinatorial by nature and imply the use of several objectives, often conflicting or different by type. As determined by the conflicting nature of the objectives, there exists no single "ideal" best compromise solution, on a general basis, the goal being set on attaining a set of best compromise solutions. The results of this thesis are part of the effort of improving Multi-Objective Combinatorial Optimization (MOCO) methods capabilities, for large instances. The thesis proposes the use of landscape analysis as guiding tool for optimization methods, but also as mean of quantifying the difficulty of problems based on topological analysis. The present study is mainly based on landscape analysis studies that provide information about the distribution of feasible solutions in the objective space. The proposed landscape analysis approaches tackle a somewhat new aspect of MOCO problems, i.e. the topological studies performed over the set of feasible solutions or for specific sets of interests as the Pareto set (the set of best compromise solutions) or the e-Pareto set. These techniques are seen as a priori techniques, providing useful information for the design of approximation methods. Furthermore, the structurality studies are integrated in online interactive techniques in order to help the search process and to provide performance guarantees even for stochastic searches in the multi-objective combinatorial case

Full textA theoretical analysis of the production of landscape led us to tackle two questions related to land use: social production and visible dimension. We used socio-economic data produced by general census and corine land cover concurrently. The process, which is based on statistical modeling, was applied principally to the french department of Doubs, and then extended to the departments of Jura and Lozère. In an initial phase, land use is considered within the communal zoning. Different experiments show a strong correlation with social data, linked primarily to the distance from urban centers and to the altitude. The substitution of corine land cover by satellite data produced similar results. Mesological parameters did not improve the prediction of landscape types. In a second phase, land use is at the origin of a simulation of visible landscape from each point of the image, in combination with a digital elevation model. A number of spatial parameters, calculated over neighborhood variables, are compared to visual data ; they allow to recognize the most characteristic landscape types. The integration of visual data within communal zoning data allows to identify discrepancies between social, spatial and visible gradients which are determined from the urban centers all the way to rural areas. Finally, the measurement of the relationship between social and landscape data in the Jura as well as the correlation of spatial and visual data in the Lozère shows similar results, which validates the results obtained for the Doubs. In the region of Besançon (capital of the Doubs), a diachronic approach gives an improved perception of the social production

Full textThis exploratory research, conducted in 2011, describes the implementation of several childcare centres within a socioeconomic context in four communities in Nunavik. The main objectives of this project are to analyze community conditions such as employement possibilities, health issues, childcare services and education, that engendered a demand for childcare centres, as well as to examine the impact of such services on community life. The development of childcare centres derives from a collaboration between the Kativik Regional Government (KRG) and Northern community members. Hence, we also explore the role KRG played in the developement and maintance of such services in the North. To this day, there exists few scientific studies dealing with childcare centres in Nunavik and so, we worked in collaboration with KRG to conduct this project.

Full textWe propose new methodologies of exploratory statistics which are dedicated to the analysis of transcriptomic data (DNA microarray data). Transcriptomic data provide an image of the transcriptome which itself is the result of phenomena of activation or inhibition of gene expression. However, the image of the transcriptome is noisy. That is why, firstly we focus on the issue of transcriptomic data denoising, in a visualisation framework. To do so, we propose a regularised version of principal component analysis. This regularised version allows to better estimate and visualise the underlying signal of noisy data. In addition, we can wonder if the knowledge of only the transcriptome is enough to understand the complexity of relationships between genes. That is why we propose to integrate other sources of information about genes, and in an active way, in the analysis of transcriptomic data. Two major mechanisms seem to be involved in the regulation of gene expression, regulatory proteins (for instance transcription factors) and regulatory networks on the one hand, chromosomal localisation and genome architecture on the other hand. Firstly, we focus on the regulation of gene expression by regulatory proteins; we propose a gene clustering algorithm based on the integration of functional knowledge about genes, which is provided by Gene Ontology annotations. This algorithm provides clusters constituted by genes which have both similar expression profiles and similar functional annotations. The clusters thus constituted are then better candidates for interpretation. Secondly, we propose to link the study of transcriptomic data to chromosomal localisation in a methodology developed in collaboration with geneticists

Full textThe landscape is the place where the relation of man to nature unfolds in its spatial temporal dimension. Hence, the groundwork of a geopoetical grammar of contemporary landscape can be seen as consisting in pinpointing the various ways of being - or existential - defined by Heidegger on the time-chart- or chronogenesis - drawn by the linguist Gustave Guillaume (part 1). On the phenomenological basis of this potential landscape, the commentary of literary texts (in part 2) permits the reader to assess man's capability to face the various forms of potentiality for authentic being; the emphasis is laid on fragmentation as the main feature of contemporary landscapes devastated by the anarchic development of one-sided techniques. In part 3, a close reading of significant poems locates the grammatical elements of being there (da-sein) in a particular historical landscape, and confirms the hypothesis that the manifold meaning of being may be reduced to a basic oneness

Full textA successful business is often conditioned by its ability to identify, collect, process and disseminate information for strategic purposes. Moreover, information technology and knowledge provide constraints that companies must adapt : a continuous stream, a circulation much faster techniques increasingly complex. The risk of being swamped by this information and no longer able to distinguish the essential from the trivial. Indeed, with the advent of new economy dominated by the market, the problem of industrial and commercial enterprise is become very complex. Now, to be competitive, the company must know how to manage their intangible capital. Competitive Intelligence (CI) is a response to the upheavals of the overall business environment and more broadly to any organization. In an economy where everything moves faster and more complex, management Strategic Information has become a key driver of overall business performance. CI is a process and an organizational process that can be more competitive, by monitoring its environment and its dynamics. In this context, we found that much information has strategic significance to the relationship: links between actors in the field, semantic networks, alliances, mergers, acquisitions, collaborations, co-occurrences of all kinds. Our work consists in proposing a model of multivariate analysis dedicated to the IE. This approach is based on the extraction of knowledge by analyzing the evolution of relational databases. We offer a model for understanding the activity of actors in a given field, but also their interactions their development and strategy, this decision in perspective. This approach is based on the designing a system of generic information online analysis to homogenize and organize text data in relational form, and thence to extract implicit knowledge of the content and formatting are adapted to non-specialist decision makers in the field of knowledge extraction

Full textConcerning the air transport, the traveller will prefer one company rather than another according to the quality of the services offered to him : reception, confort, safety. The quality of a service consists in the ability for a company to satisfy the traveller's needs. To estimate the quality one has to compare the expectations and the perception of the quality of the services offered. The aim of this work is to appraise the efficiency of the services of Iraki-Airways company by measuring the traveller's satisfaction and dissatisfaction. The purpose of this research : - consists in a more pragmatical point of view in pointing out the dimensions of Iraki-Airways' services which need and improvment, while proposing recommendations ; - to point out priority segments according to the dichotomic break downs of the market, to determine which are the satisfied and dissatisfied population brackets. The results show that the majority of the population which this investigation has studied is satisfied with the quality of the services offered by the company (79%) and that 21% are dissatisfied about this quality. The previous percentage is made up of : - senior and medium executives - men - maried - those aged more than 36 years

Full textThe quality of Volunteered Geographic Information (VGI) is currently a topic that question spatial data users as well as authoritative data producers who are willing to exploit the benefits of crowdsourcing. Contrary to most authoritative databases, the advantage of VGI provides open access to spatial data. However, VGI is prone to errors, even to deliberate defacement perpetrated by ill-intended contributors. In the latter case, we may speak of cartographic vandalism of carto-vandalism. This phenomenon is one the main downsides of crowsdsourcing, and despite the small amount of incidents, it may be a barrier to the use of collaborative spatial data. This thesis follows an approach based on VGI quality -- in particular, the objective of this work is to detect vandalism in spatial collaborative data. First, we formalize a definition of the concept of carto-vandalism. Then, assuming that corrupted spatial data come from malicious contributors, we demonstate that qualifying contributors enables to assess the corresponding contributed data. Finally, the experiments explore the ability of learning methods to detect carto-vandalism

Full textThis case study concerns children of 7;5 to 9;5 years old, without specific musical education, facing a musical computer instrument wich they have never used before. It is the matter of making sure that a child facing that instrument can make music, his music, and studying the dynamic vectors that direct the subjects’ exploratory musical activity. We put forward the hypothesis that these dynamics are of course musical, but, above all, independant of using the instrument. More, that they’re based on pivots made up from the musical instrument or the child’s use of it and not werely perpetrated movements Our analysis is functional. To make it, we draw up exhaustively, the statement of observable movements and heard musical production. We describe each studied session as a chain of segments, individually characterized by a particular procedural scheme. We underline these schemes’ progressive evolution. Their purpose is success; success consisting in this case of making music, the children’s own music. After dividing the sessions up into sequences, characterized by assimilation or accommodation, we look at the obtained results in order to bring out the dynamics of the musical exploratory activity and the pivots on which they are based, so as to specify the musical direction chosen by the subjects in each session. We finish by a comparison of the obtained results by each child, in order to note the similarities and the differences

Full textThe urban night is an emerging theme in both Francophone and Anglophone geography, as illustrated by a series of works that have opened up research areas including temporal urbanism (Mallet, 2009) or the gentrification process of certain neighbourhoods affected by nightlife (Comelli, 2015). One of the most dynamic of these new research areas is the study of urban illumination. However, this literature remains rather fragmented in terms of approaches, methodologies and research interests.Francophone social sciences have concentrated mainly on the evolution of lighting policies, in particular in relation to the evolution of tools and concepts associated with the so called “urbanisme-lumière”. This literature has focused mainly on practices of architectural lighting (Mallet, 2009; Hernandez, 2010). On the other hand, researchers of the English-speaking tradition have developed a growing interest in the effects that light has on the nocturnal experience. In particular, this interest has centered around two lines of research: the relationship between street lighting and fear of crime and, more recently, the experiences produced by temporary lighting installations.Through the crossing of observations on different lightscapes: the illumination of the public space, the illumination of heritage building and temporary forms of illumination within the framework of light festivals this thesis proposes an approach that combines the theoretical and methodological perspectives developed by these two literatures. The scientific and practical interest of this choice meets several criteria. On the one hand, it allows an account of the three main empirical contexts that have been explored in the existing literature on light. At the same time, the joint study of these three types of lightscapes offers the opportunity to analyse the same object at different scales and in different spatial-temporal contexts. More generally, the entire thesis aims to produce a crossing of looks at different levels. On the one hand, we wish to produce a horizontal dialogue between the study of the construction of a lightscape and the experience it produces on a daily basis. On the other hand, we wish to encourage a cross-sectional comparison between the different types of light policies and between the different experiences produced by light in the contemporary city.As such, this thesis contributes to the study of the more recent evolutions of urban lighting policies as well as providing as analysis of the influence that urban illumination has on the spatial and social practices that characterize public space. It shows that the convergence of technical and conceptual logics has resulted in the production of different types of lightscapes that take part in an evolution of urban planning policies towards a growing aestheticization of the contemporary city. More generally, this work contributes to the study of the political dimensions of urban planning, the processes of urban policy construction and the relationship between expert knowledge and the integration of the lived and sensory experience of city users in the construction of public space

Full textAmong the methods described as allowing the cultivation of microorganisms considered as "difficult to cultivate", one of the first strategies is based on the supplementation, customization or modification of isolation and culture media, and another is based on the mimicry of growth conditions in the natural environment. The MB2L medium was developed and used in this study to isolate and select skin bacteria whose growth is masked by the main skin species (such as Staphylococcus). In this study, in addition to showing a preferential pattern of carriage of different bacterial species between the two age groups, we isolated 20 new bacterial species never described before. Carriage analysis by qPCR of these new bacterial species was performed on large panels. This analysis made it possible to determine whether these bacteria were commensal or transient. Of our 20 novel bacterial species, 7 were determined as commensals, so potentially of greater interest for further investigations of their roles or what they could produce, and their interaction with the skin, notably through the coculture with 3D skin models. These organisms are the starting point of future investigations that aim to discover their potential beneficial role for the skin and create expectations for their use as probiotic and postbiotic or the discovery of new bacterial-derivate bioactive compounds (for the use as postbiotic), they could also be the substrate for experimental determination of prebiotic compounds

Full textDatasets allowing the description of spatio-temporal phenomena are becoming ever more numerous. These new data can be very different from those usually observed for studying spatio-temporal phenomena. An analysis through a hypothetico-deductive approach, like is mainly done in statistic and GIS domains, can ignore some unsuspected, but relevant, information about the dynamics of these spatio-temporal phenomena. It can be interesting then, to just present the data, to observe what they have to show, before analysing them. This is the principle of the exploratory data analysis: the process is to allow a user to freely explore data, through visual representations, in order to highlight unsuspected structures or relationships. Today, exploratory analysis is possible through visualization environments, which integrate different graphic or cartographic interactive representations.Visualization environments are mainly developed in an ad hoc manner, in the context of a particular thematic field. However, the constant appearance of new data encourages promoting analysis methods, which could be applied to several types of phenomena. According to the domain related to these phenomena, the analysis will be focused on different dynamics. Analysing a meteorological phenomenon, in a forecasting purpose, implies a focus on the cyclic recurrences of the phenomenon. Analysing the increase of a population, for the purpose of deciding public policies, implies an analysis of the phenomenon on a long-term, through different spatial areas. Our objective is to propose a method for the exploratory analysis of spatio-temporal phenomena and their dynamics, which would be independent of the topic. In order to achieve this, we propose a geovisualization environment, GrAPHiST (Géovisualisation pour l'Analyse des PHenomenes Spatio-Temporels; Geovisualization for spatio-temporal phenomena analysis), allowing the analysis of several dynamics, through different spatial and temporal (linear or cyclic) scales. Developing this environment implies to focus on how spatial changes are modelled, on the nature of the spatio-temporal dynamics we have to study, and on the visual and interactive tools, which allow the identification of these dynamics. So, the contributions of our research can be found at several levels:a generic modelling approach of spatio-temporal phenomena, in the form of event series;new graphical and interactive representation methods, which allow the searching and the identification of spatio-temporal dynamics, including: the introduction of interactive temporal diagrams, which allow the visual searching of cyclic recurrences in spatio-temporal data; the use of symbology rules, which allow the visualization of relationships between the spatial and temporal components of phenomena; new methods to represent aggregated closed events, which allow to identify structures in their spatio-temporal distribution;the formalization of an exploratory approach for the spatio-temporal dynamics analysis, divided into several scenarios, according to the purpose of the analysis. We validate our proposition by applying it to the analysis of several datasets. The objective is to verify the possibility to identify dynamics, related to linear or cyclic time, through the use of GrAPHiST, and to illustrate the generic aspect of the approach, as well as the analysis opportunities given by the environment

Full textCo-clustering is a clustering technique aiming at simultaneously partitioning the rows and the columns of a data matrix. Among the existing approaches, MODL is suitable for processing huge data sets with several continuous or categorical variables. We use it as the baseline approach in this thesis. We discuss the reliability of applying such an approach on data mining problems like graphs partitioning, temporal graphs segmentation or curve clustering.MODL tracks very fine patterns in huge data sets, that makes the results difficult to study. That is why, exploratory analysis tools must be defined in order to explore them. In order to help the user in interpreting the results, we define exploratory analysis tools aiming at simplifying the results in order to make possible an overall interpretation, tracking the most interesting patterns, determining the most representative values of the clusters and visualizing the results. We investigate the asymptotic behavior of these exploratory analysis tools in order to make the connection with the existing approaches. Finally, we highlight the value of MODL and the exploratory analysis tools owing to an application on call detailed records from the telecom operator Orange, collected in Ivory Coast

Full textThe motion of the heart is one of the significant factors, which characterises the functional state of the cardiac muscle. It is weil known that certain cardiac pathologies such as myocardial ischemia perturb this movement. Magnetic Resonance Imaging with tissue tagging is a recent imaging technique specifically designed for the analysis of the heart movement. Cornbined with an image processing software, it can provide a local and accurate quantization of the deformation in the rnyocardiurn during the cardiac cycle. However, the produced information does not allow the direct labelling of the norrnally and abnormally contractile regions. We propose, within the frarnework of this thesis, tools for the analysis of the spatio-temporal pararneters of deformation computed from Tagged Magnetic Resonance Irnaging. Our objective is twofold. On the one hand, we seek to improve the knowledge of the mechanical function of the normal heart. On the other hand, this knowledge must enable to characterise the contractile reserve of the myocardial territories and to detect the necrosed regions. We propose a combination of factorial techniques and classification techniques whose principles, issued from multidimensional data analysis methods, are adapted to evolving (time) data distributed over the myocardium (space). More precisely, we have irnplernented a functional principal component analysis and two methods of unsupervised partitioning adapted to spatio-temporal data. These methods are applied to the analysis of the myocardial deformation on a population of healthy volunteers. A reference model of the normal contractile function is built upon this study. It can be completed as the normal data basis extends. We propose a strategy to detect abnormally contractile territories that uses this reference model. The results obtained from patients data dernonstrates the interest of taking into account the behaviour of the myocardial deformation over the whole contraction duration

Beauregard, Martin. "L'image écartelée : une étude exploratoire des rapports entre la photographie et le récit." Thesis, Paris 1, 2014. http://www.theses.fr/2014PA010574.
Full textA photographic work is built around a story, one being narrated by the text or the image, one that one is telling just to oneself or that is being shared with others. Such a work is animated by the problematic relationships it may have with the novel or the film, partly caused by its fixed ontological purpose and the narrative effects it produces in the spectator’s imaginary world. The concept of image-écartelée brings forth this tension between the photography and the experience of creation. It allows one to contemplate the various processes of deconstruction and reconstruction of the image, generating a profound reflection concerning the structural matrices and semiotic narratives. L ’image—écartelêe asks us to examine the different modalities of allegory and reflexivity of the photographic medium in its relation to the images in the narrative. By this means, et multiple interplay of temporalities is produced, between the story and the memories it evokes, which retraces even the act of writing and a personal practice of the photographic art

Full textResearchers agree that the speaker's role is extremely important in essays and journalism. One cannot argue without constantly trying to strengthen his(her) credibility. It is certainly true of George Orwell, brilliant essayist and journalist of the XXth century, who fascinated readers thanks to his huge power of persuasion. The concepts we borrowed from ancient rhetoric and contemporary argumentation theories, especially from Ruth Amossy's unifying perspective, served to elaborate an approach which allowed us to show the way Orwellian ethos functions, outside and inside discourse. Orwell's image (his ethos) thus becomes his most effective argument. We so identified a discursive typology, based on the frequency of personal and indefinite pronouns, which play a role of rhetorical indicators. We conclude that the speaker's seductive authority is the main argumentative device in Orwell's essays and articles

Full textIn France, some urban design general discussions focus on the border between the projects made by the urban designer and the one made by the landscape architects (Champy, 2000): between concurrency and complementary (Donadieu, 2012). In the 2000s, we can give a mark on a movement involved in some disciplinary crosses, between landscape and urban design. It takes place into an historic development of the landscape architect profession since the late 1960s (Estienne, 2010). Others observe what they call sub-urbanism (Marot, 1995, 1999, 2006), or “urbanisme de révélation” (Fromonot, 2011). In urban design practices, what kind of exchanges can lay out the interface between landscape and urbanism? This thesis analyses a local urban sequence, one territory in the city of Lille made by three projects over a quarter of a century (1989-2013): Euralille 1, Euralille 2, Saint-Sauveur. The investigation highlights the relations in the works made by the landscape architects and the urban designer. The analysis looks mainly on the opening works and designs, and study as much as graphic documents produced in the studios than the discourse logic associated to the projects. The work shows the exchanges that could organize the synaptic interface between urbanism and landscape design or planning. It opens directions for the consideration of the landscape architect work and the landscape thinking method, in the development of our contemporary cities
Full textThis essay consists of an ecocritical analysis of the novel Naissance d'un pont, written by Maylis de Kerangal. The essay's overall purpose is to examine how this novel describes the relationship between humans and nature. Above all, we look at the narrative strategies used by the author to convey the image of this relationship and moreover, we discuss the role of the different landscapes figuring in the novel. Finally, the analysis also includes a brief reflection on the novel's potential to influence the reader's attitude towards ecology. The analysis of narrative strategies focuses on the narrator's role, as well as the presence and function of ethical perspectives, symbolic names and figures of speech. These strategies contribute to depicting a variety of ideas concerning human lifestyles, whereas the descriptions of landscapes demonstrate the complex relationship between the human society and the natural and constructed landscapes respectively. Naissance d'un pont seems to promote a more humble attitude to nature than the one dominating in today's society. In order to evaluate the novel's capacity to transmit these values to the reader, it would however be reasonable to take several factors into account, such as the complexity of the language and the story's credibility level.

Full textAntisense oligonucleotides (ASO) can be used to direct some steps in mRNA maturation as splicing and polyadenylation in order to modulate gene expression. During lymphoid B-lineage development, maturation of immunoglobulin (Ig) transcripts involves alternative splicing and polyadenylation mechanisms. My thesis work has shown that ASO can be used to dissociate the two interconnected steps of transcription and splicing in order to study the sole impact of splicing of Ig germinal transcripts (GLT) during Ig class switch recombination. The submission of patent n°EP19305716.3 also allowed me to make a proof of concept for ASO usage to influence the polyadenylation of a specific Ig isotype by targeting the alternative polyadenylation sites (PAS) responsible for the production of membrane or secreted Ig. In fact, targeting the PAS used for the secreted IgE transcript with an ASO has made it possible to reduce IgE secretion and could be a new therapeutic strategy in IgE-dependent allergies. Finally, I developped a knock down method using splice switching oligonucleotide (SSO) that induces exon skipping during splicing and the appearance of alternative transcripts carrying a reading frameshift and a premature stop codon. This method could be used to target many genes expressed in eukaryotic cells, like B or plasma cells.Despite their limitations in terms of biodistribution, ASOs constitute innovative avenues for the development of new therapies against B lineage related diseases and lymphoproliferations

"Conditions et apports du paysage multisensoriel pour une approche sensible de l’urbain : mise à l’épreuve théorique, méthodologique et opérationnelle dans 3 quartiers dits durables : WGT (Amsterdam), Bo01, Augustenborg (Malmö)." Full textIn a context of growing interest about the sensoriality in urban space and an evolution in the landscape theory that proposes to overcome the divisions between the landscape on the one hand as a physical object and partly externalized and on the other hand as an internalized imaginary creation, the "multi-sensory landscape" remains to this day an unexplored field. As limited research has been conducted concerning the multi-sensory landscape directly, in spite of studies on other (mono)senscapes, this research aims to the understanding of the conditions and the specific contributions of the rensible (and located) human relations in the urban action through multi-sensory landscape. This thesis introduces the study of the landscape of three multisensory sustainable neighbourhoods in northern Europe (WGT in Amsterdam, Augustenborg and Bo01 in Malmö) throughout a methodological approach that consists of: an analysis (which includes a "documentary analysis", an urban and landscape “classic” analysis, a sensitive approach of the site); semi-structured interviews of steak holders involved in consulting, design, and / or management of those projects; and investigations along with inhabitants of the studied neighbourhoods, by open short interviews, multisensorial walk alones and "multi-sensory bags" (methods specifically established for the demands of the research ).Through a qualitative analysis, this thesis indicates that the multi-sensory landscape, by its spatial, social and sensory consistency, might prove to be a point of convergence for urban professionals and inhabitants. The prospect of such a mediation is enhanced by the fact that multisensoriality adresses not only the matter of sensory relations, but also discloses many other aspects and permits to emotions to be expressed. Regarding the sensory relations, this thesis shows that despite the primacy of sight, the presence of the other senses is not to be disregarded as they generate "qualitative" inputs (in terms of sensory markers relatively commons). The sensoriality of the so-called sustainable neighbourhoods as well as it's recognition are questioned as the landscape is one of the indicators of the perceived and experienced sustainability. When it comes to the landscape's versatility, it could serve as a way to theat subject of urban sustainable development not yet explored: aesthetic aspects of the sustainability ; (changes in) lifestyle and behaviors that accompany it (or not) ; initiating the involvement of inhabitants in the process of projects and management in their life areas. Finaly, the landscape can contribute to the sensible (re)consideration of urban sustainable development with a perspective more considerate of habitability than of eco-technical management of urban space. From a methodological point of view, the assessment of the methological approach and the multi-sensory bags, has shown that under certain circumstances, the inhabitant's sensible relations can be expressed and thus be considered in the processes and projects affecting the urban space. The maping of this thesis' results (applied on one of the three neighbourhoods), offers the opportunity for every member of the neighbourhood to be involved in the conceptualsation and realisation of a project and eventually allows a sensitive consideration of urban space to become reality
