Abstract:

Cet article propose une analyse de la situation économique de plusieurs filières animales (lait de vache, viande bovine, viande porcine, viande de volailles et secteur équin) en France, deux années après le début de la pandémie de Covid-19. En partant des dernières données statistiques disponibles sur la période 2020 à 2021 et tout en tenant compte des trajectoires historiques, il cherche à mettre en évidence en quoi cette crise a eu des implications sur la production, les prix, la consommation, les échanges extérieurs et, dans le cas du secteur équin, les différentes activités (paris hippiques, centres équestres…). La production de biens agricoles a été globalement peu impactée par la crise sanitaire car les agriculteurs ont continué à produire, en dépit parfois de certaines difficultés, telles que le manque de main d’œuvre, les pertes temporaires de débouchés, etc. Face à une modification importante de la structure de la demande (augmentation des produits achetés par les ménages au détriment de ceux privilégiés dans la restauration hors domicile), aux mesures soudaines imposées par l’État et aux difficultés parfois rencontrées pour maintenir les effectifs de salariés, les acteurs de la transformation ont été capables de s’adapter rapidement pour permettre de fournir aux consommateurs les biens demandés. Les flux d’échanges ont, eux aussi, été perturbés en 2020, avant de repartir à la hausse en 2021, selon des tendances finalement assez conformes à celles précédant la crise. Sous l’influence, d’une part, de la hausse du prix de l’énergie (avant même la guerre en Ukraine qui a débuté le 24 février 2022) et, d’autre part, de la fluctuation des importations de la Chine sur les marchés mondiaux de produits animaux, les prix à la production ont augmenté fin 2021 et début 2022, mais cette hausse est contrebalancée par une forte augmentation des coûts de production. Dans le secteur équin, les pertes de chiffre d’affaires ont été temporairement importantes en raison de l’interaction de ce secteur avec le public. Après le choc de 2020, et moyennant une adaptation des acteurs de la filière, les activités reprennent progressivement.

Abstract:

We study the evolution of the emissivity correlated with magnetic flux density of an active region from its birth until its decay throughout all atmospheric layers. We analyse multi-wavelength data obtained from SOHO, Yohkoh, GOES, SOLSTICE and 10.7 cm radio data from DRAO, Canada. We utilise our results to understand the scaling laws in different atmospheric layers. We confirm that the relationship between the emitted excess flux (flux - basal flux) and photospheric magnetic flux density ΔF(< f B >) follow power laws, and the powers depend on the formation temperature of the line(s) involved.

Abstract:

The two-dimensional Poiseuille flow induced by an external force is analysed in the framework of BoltzmannMaxwell kinetic theory. In the limit of small Knudsen numbers (Kn [Formula: see text] 0.1), Boltzmann's nonlinear equation, written in terms of moments, is solved using perturbation theory. In our results, the hydrodynamic variable profiles are determined up to the fourth order in the perturbation parameter. Nonetheless, the method of solution remains valid to obtain all physical quantities of a gas undergoing Poiseuille flow. The major conclusion of our analysis has two elements. First, the profiles of hydrodynamic variables in two dimensions differ quantitatively (and sometimes qualitatively) from those in plane geometry. Thus, the Poiseuille flow representation in a cylindrical pipe is more accurate than in a canal between two parallel planes. Second, a critical comparaison between the theoretical predictions of the kinetic theory and those of NavierStokes shows that the two theories agree only up to the first order of perturbation. Starting at the second order, the difference between the two increases. Thus, within the limit of validity of the present study, the description by NavierStokes remains insufficient to predict the correct profiles for the hydrodynamic variables in the Poisseuille flow. Pour un système de flux ce modèle détermine les gains effectués par tous les noeuds dépendants pour tout changement de flux dans le noeud principal ; il détermine l'importance des diverses lignes de transmission entre les éléments et il permet de connaître la sensibilité d'un élément aux variations de flux sur tout arc du réseau. C'est un modèle qui pourrait s'avérer très utile pour des études d'interdépendance systémique ou pour une recherche sur les lignes de transmissions d'un phénomène de diffusion. C'est une technique très intéressante également pour mesurer l'évolution d'un réseau et connaître les éléments qui ont tendance à être refoulés en marge du système par d'autres qui prennent de l'importance. À titre d'illustration, le modèle a été appliqué à l'étude des migrations de populations en France pour les années 1962-68, dans le cadre des régions de programme.

Abstract:

The aspects of measurement and presentation of radiation parameters of germicidal lamps, including radiant flux within the set spectral range, are under consideration. Radiant flux is currently used as their main parameter. There are the following methods of measurement of this parameter: indirect, by means of irradiance from the lamps, goniometric, and the integrating sphere method. The goal of the work was to compare the results of measurement of germicidal lamps using different methods and to analyse the practice of presentation of germicidal lamp parameters. TUV, HNS, LTC, DB, DKB and DKBU germicidal lamps and irradiators with different power capacity and peak radiation in the mercury line 253.7 nm were selected as the measurement objects and such parameters as radiant flux, germicidal flux, and radiant flux stabilisation time were selected as assessed parameters. The measurements were made and the values of radiant flux and germicidal flux, using the indirect and goniometric methods, were obtained. The graphs of radiant flux stabilisation of different lamps are presented. The analysis of the measurements demonstrated necessity of modification of the approaches to measurement and presentation of the germicidal lamp parameters.

Abstract:

Ultrafiltration was used to clarify glucose from cellulose hydrolysate using polyethersulfone (PES) membrane. The flux behavior of PES membrane was studied in concentrating glucose from cellulose hydrolysate during dead end ultrafiltration in different pH of solutions and Kumar’s model was applied to analyse the fouling mechanism. The permeation of glucose achieved more than 93% for all the different pH solution. The permeate flux decreased over time as a result of membrane fouling. The minimum fouling was obtained at pH solution above the IEP due to protein-protein and membrane-protein repulsions alleviating aggregation and fouling. Abstract:

Context. The dynamics of ultraviolet (UV) emissions during solar flares provides constraints on the physical mechanisms involved in the trigger and the evolution of flares. In particular it provides some information on the location of the reconnection sites and the associated magnetic fluxes. In this respect, confined flares are far less understood than eruptive flares generating coronal mass ejections. Aims. We present a detailed study of a confined circular flare dynamics associated with three UV late phases in order to understand more precisely which topological elements are present and how they constrain the dynamics of the flare. Methods. We perform a non-linear force-free field extrapolation of the confined flare observed with the Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager (HMI) and Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) instruments on board Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO). From the 3D magnetic field we compute the squashing factor and we analyse its distribution. Conjointly, we analyse the AIA extreme ultraviolet (EUV) light curves and images in order to identify the post-flare loops, and their temporal and thermal evolution. By combining the two analyses we are able to propose a detailed scenario that explains the dynamics of the flare. Results. Our topological analysis shows that in addition to a null-point topology with the fan separatrix, the spine lines and its surrounding quasi-separatix layer (QSL) halo (typical for a circular flare), a flux rope and its hyperbolic flux tube (HFT) are enclosed below the null. By comparing the magnetic field topology and the EUV post-flare loops we obtain an almost perfect match between the footpoints of the separatrices and the EUV 1600 Å ribbons and between the HFT field line footpoints and bright spots observed inside the circular ribbons. We show, for the first time in a confined flare, that magnetic reconnection occurred initially at the HFT below the flux rope. Reconnection at the null point between the flux rope and the overlying field is only initiated in a second phase. In addition, we showed that the EUV late phase observed after the main flare episode is caused by the cooling loops of different length which have all reconnected at the null point during the impulsive phase. Conclusions. Our analysis shows in one example that flux ropes are present in null-point topology not only for eruptive and jet events, but also for confined flares. This allows us to conjecture on the analogies between conditions that govern the generation of jets, confined flares or eruptive flares.

We use a “Differential Cloud Model” to analyse the observed line profiles, in order to determine radial velocity and microturbulence (or shear) as functions of time.We assume that the material is flowing inside magnetic flux tubes, with a given velocity distribution. We analyse the motions in a phase-diagram (position x,velocity V). The evolution of velocity and microturbulcnce is compared to the observations. The model accounts qualitatively for the evolution of velocity, and qualitatively for the decrease of microturbulence.

Abstract:

Submerged arc welding (SAW) is a process in which welding joint is obtained by heating the metal with an arc set between bare electrode and work piece. Intense heat produced during the process fuses the metal and filler metal. Flux is used as a shielding agent which is placed over the welding area to protect the molten pool from atmospheric contamination. It also shields the spatter of arc. This flux gets converted into slag after solidification at the surface of welding metal. The wastage of flux in the form of slag increases the cost of process. In the present study different flux and slag compositions are used to analyse the effect of slag/flux mixture on mechanical properties of submerged arc welded joint performed on mild steel plates. Present work is an attempt to utilize this slag as flux and reduce the cost of SAW welding process. For the investigation three agglomerated flux compositions are prepared and slag is mixed in these compositions in percentage of 10, 20, and 30 respectively. The various tests such as tensile test, impact test, microhardness test, microstructure test were performed on the welded specimens, to study the mechanical behaviour of structural steel. It is found that the mechanical properties of the welded joint by mixing slag in all three flux compositions are significant according to AWS requirement.

ABSTRACT We analyse numerically a model of eruption of a thin flux rope with the endpoints frozen in the photosphere. The flux rope is assumed to maintain a shape of partial current-carrying torus staying initially in equilibrium in the external dipolar magnetic field. There is an unstable equilibrium point, which can be reached by slow evolution of the system, and then a catastrophic loss of equilibrium and flux-rope eruption follow. Parameters of eruption, such as acceleration, velocity, electric field generated at the null point, depend in particular on the initial length of the flux rope or in other words on the endpoints separation. Analysis of the sample of 30 eruptive events observed on the Sun in the period from 2012 to 2016 showed that the eruptions of shorter filaments are more often associated with flaring phenomena and not followed by coronal mass ejections (CMEs). Eruptions of most lengthy filaments are followed as a rule by CMEs but are much rarely associated with flares.

Abstract:

Direct torque control (DTC) and model predictive control (MPC) are widely used in the control of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). However, DTC for PMSM can cause large torque ripples and flux ripples, high harmonic distortion of the stator current, and high acoustic noises. Compared to DTC, MPC considers all possible switching states which can reduce the ripples of torque and flux. MPC with one-step delay compensation for PMSM and DTC with one-step delay compensation and two hysteresis comparators for PMSM have been proposed to solve some drawbacks of these two controllers. This paper makes a detailed comparison between these two improved control methods through Simulink and hardware experiments results to analyse the four indicators-torque ripple, flux ripple, transient time and THD of inverter current.

Quantum non-Markovianity and quantum Darwinism are two phenomena linked by a common theme: the flux of quantum information between a quantum system and the quantum environment it interacts with. In this work, making use of a quantum collision model, a formalism initiated by Sudarshan and his school, we will analyse the efficiency with which the information about a single qubit gained by a quantum harmonic oscillator, acting as a meter, is transferred to a bosonic environment. We will show how, in some regimes, such quantum information flux is inefficient, leading to the simultaneous emergence of non-Markovian and non-darwinistic behaviours.

The CO2 characteristics of the Semarang Bay system on the Northern coast of Java were investigated to understand the roles in carbon dioxide flux. The flux of carbon dioxide at the sea surface between seawater and atmosphere is essential for mitigating atmospheric CO2. The aims of this study were to assess the variation of CO2 partial pressure seawater (pCO2sea) and CO2 flux and to analyse the water quality variable which has the larger influence on CO2 flux in the waters of Semarang Bay. The variables in this study were temperature, pH, salinity, and DO. Different methods were adopted in the analysis of water samples: spectrophotometric to measure chlorophyll-a and phosphate and titration method to measure Total Alkalinity (TA) and Dissolved Inorganic Carbon (DIC). A CO2 meter was used to measure the CO2atm. The lowest CO2 flux value was (1.86 mmol CO2 m-2 day-1) during the morning period while the pCO2sea reached 461.04 μatm and CO2 flux 83.79 mmol CO2 m-2 day-1 at night. At noon time, with increased temperature, pCO2sea was 461.04 μatm, and CO2 flux was 83.79 mmol CO2 m-2 day-1. The high concentration of chlorophyll-a ranged between 3.55–4.11 mg.L-1. This chlorophyll-a concentration has a negative correlation with CO2 flux, and it was found that TA and DIC concentrations have no relationship with CO2 flux. Based on PCA analysis, it was found that the variability of CO2 flux in Semarang Bay is influenced by the variability of pCO2sea, sea surface temperature and kwa (affected by wind speed).

It has been confirmed that rice fields contribute a lot to atmospheric methane. The object of this research was to analyse the diurnal changes of CH4 fluxes from a rice field in southern subtropical China in early rice season. The measuring device was a modification of a closed static chamber and gas chromatography. Samples of CH4 were collected from treatments with rice crop plot and bare soil plot at the same time. The results indicated that there are two peaks of variation in diurnal CH4 emissions during the growing season of rice. The average CH4 fluxes in the field appeared in the order of maturity stage (1.96 ± 0.33), booting stage (0.13 ± 0.01) and post-harvest stage (-0.01 ± 0.02) (mg·m-2·h-1). At booting stage, average flux of CH4 was much higher in the plot with rice plants than that of bare soil plot (p<0.01). Soil temperature had no significant effect on CH4 emissions at any stage in this study. The results showed that soil moisture and rice plants significantly affected CH4 flux in rice field.

We introduce and analyse the so-called Reference Solution IMplicit-EXplicit scheme as a flux-splitting method for singularly-perturbed systems of balance laws. RS-IMEX scheme’s bottom-line is to use the Taylor expansion of the flux function and the source term around a reference solution (typically the asymptotic limit or an equilibrium solution) to decompose the flux and the source into stiff and non-stiff parts so that the resulting IMEX scheme is Asymptotic Preserving (AP) w.r.t. the singular parameter tending to zero. We prove the asymptotic consistency, asymptotic stability, solvability and well-balancing of the scheme for the case of the one-dimensional shallow water equations when the singular parameter is the Froude number. We will also study several test cases to illustrate the quality of the computed solutions and to confirm the analysis.

On montre à partir d’une simulation dans le cas France-Allemagne que les flux migratoires ont un effet déstabilisant sur les dynamiques régionales du chômage: elles engendrent une relation positive entre le taux de chômage et le salaire au sein de chaque région.

In this paper we investigate vacuum polarization effects associated with charged massive quantum fermionic fields in a six-dimensional cosmic string space-times considering the presence of a magnetic flux running along its core. We have shown that for specific values of the parameters which codify the presence of the cosmic string, and the fractional part of the ratio of the magnetic flux by the quantum one, a closed expression for the respective Green function is obtained. AbstractThe a-index samples the flux of the 5200 Å region by comparing the flux at the center with the adjacent regions. The final intrinsic peculiarity index Δa was defined as the difference between the individual a-values and the a-values of normal stars of the same colour (spectral type). Here we present, for the first time, a case study to detect and analyse Asymptotic Giant Branch (AGB) stars in the Magellanic Clouds. For this, we use our photometric survey of the Magellanic Clouds within the a-index. We find that AGB stars can be easily detected on the basis of their Δa index in an efficient way.

Aims. Two types of flux emergence were recently discovered in numerical simulations: magnetic loops and magnetic sheet emergence. While magnetic loop emergence has been documented well in recent years using high-resolution full Stokes data from ground-based telescopes as well as satellites, magnetic sheet emergence is still an understudied process. We report here on the first clear observational evidence of a magnetic sheet emergence and characterise its development. Methods. Full Stokes spectra from the Hinode spectropolarimeter were inverted with the Stokes Inversion based on Response functions (SIR) code to obtain solar atmospheric parameters such as temperature, line-of-sight velocities, and full magnetic field vector information. Results. We analyse a magnetic flux emergence event observed in the quiet-Sun internetwork. After a large-scale appearance of linear polarisation, a magnetic sheet with horizontal magnetic flux density of up to 194 Mx cm−2 hovers in the low photosphere spanning a region of 2–3 arcsec. The magnetic field azimuth obtained through Stokes inversions clearly shows an organised structure of transversal magnetic flux density emerging. The granule below the magnetic flux sheet tears the structure apart leaving the emerged flux to form several magnetic loops at the edges of the granule. Conclusions. A large amount of flux with strong horizontal magnetic fields surfaces through the interplay of buried magnetic flux and convective motions. The magnetic flux emerges within 10 minutes and we find a longitudinal magnetic flux at the foot points of the order of ∼1018 Mx. This is one to two orders of magnitude larger than what has been reported for small-scale magnetic loops. The convective flows feed the newly emerged flux into the pre-existing magnetic population on a granular scale.

L’immigration chinoise, bien que toujours marginale à l’échelle de la France métropolitaine, à la fois en termes de stocks et de flux, a connu depuis les années 1980 une croissance six fois plus rapide que celle en provenance des autres pays. Cet article vise à pallier la relative méconnaissance de cette immigration sur un plan quantitatif. Il analyse tout d’abord les données des recensements afin d’en décrire les principales caractéristiques sociodémographiques par comparaison aux autres immigrés. Il se fonde ensuite sur des données administratives afin d’étudier les flux alimentant la croissance de la population chinoise en France et d’estimer les flux de sortie. Deux principaux résultats ressortent des analyses : d’une part, une forte concentration résidentielle en Île-de-France et dans les zones les plus urbanisées du pays ; d’autre part, l’apport significatif de la migration étudiante, qui modifie progressivement le profil sociodémographique général des migrants chinois en France.

Abstract The Integrated Carbon Observation System Research Infrastructure aims to provide long-term, continuous observations of sources and sinks of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and water vapour. At ICOS ecosystem stations, the principal technique for measurements of ecosystem-atmosphere exchange of GHGs is the eddy-covariance technique. The establishment and setup of an eddy-covariance tower have to be carefully reasoned to ensure high quality flux measurements being representative of the investigated ecosystem and comparable to measurements at other stations. To fulfill the requirements needed for flux determination with the eddy-covariance technique, variations in GHG concentrations have to be measured at high frequency, simultaneously with the wind velocity, in order to fully capture turbulent fluctuations. This requires the use of high-frequency gas analysers and ultrasonic anemometers. In addition, to analyse flux data with respect to environmental conditions but also to enable corrections in the post-processing procedures, it is necessary to measure additional abiotic variables in close vicinity to the flux measurements. Here we describe the standards the ICOS ecosystem station network has adopted for GHG flux measurements with respect to the setup of instrumentation on towers to maximize measurement precision and accuracy while allowing for flexibility in order to observe specific ecosystem features.
