Full textThis manuscript presents the design and setup of an all-weather spectral irradiance measurement system on 4 planes. The 4 spectrometers measure a total of 900 spectra/min to produce every minute, a mean spectral irradiance and its standard deviation. Between 2014 and 2015, this system recorded 700,000 spectra, for wavelengths ranging between 400 and 1,000 nm with a step ≤1 nm. A sample of 145,000 spectra representative of the Lyon climate was selected for statistical analysis. For this purpose, the sample was reduced in size by partitioning it in 1,175 spectra. Its spectral domain was extended to 280-1,500 nm by extrapolating the spectra with curve fitting using the SMARTS2 RTM. A PCA of the extrapolated sample reduced its description to only 3 components; hence, allowing a revision of the CIE’s illuminant D series. Finally, the relation between spectral power distribution and environmental or colorimetric parameters opens a way towards statistical models for generating solar spectra

Full textThe aim of this thesis is to improve spectral unmixing algorithms in gamma ray spectrometry in order to speed up anomaly detection and the estimation of radionuclide contributions in aerosol filter samples analyzed by the French Institute of Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety. To this end, we have developed an unmixing algorithm that performs joint analysis of several successive measurements of the same sample. This algorithm has been improved to enable online analysis while the gamma-ray spectrum measurement is measured. Various tools had to be developed at the same time as this algorithm to enable radionuclide activities to be estimated accurately, including calibration of the spectral signatures used during the unmixing process. The results of these studies are presented in the thesis both on simulated spectra and on real spectra from the laboratory's routine analyses. The detection of a contamination of ¹²³I at 2 Bq in a sample after 2 minutes of measurement illustrates the acceleration made possible by the developments made during this thesis. Indeed, this detection would not have been possible with the tools used routinely

Cousin, Areski. "Analyse du Risque et Couverture des Tranches de CDO Synthétique." Lyon 1, 2008. http://www.theses.fr/2008LYO10191.
Full textThis thesis is dedicated to risk management of synthetic CDO tranches. The first part deals with risk analysis of CDO tranches from the point of view of factor models. Thanks to the factor framework, we can handle a wide range of well-know pricing models. This includes pricing approaches based on copulas, but also structural, multivariate Poisson and affine intensity models. Factor models have become increasingly popular since there are associated with efficient semi-analytical methods and parsimonious parameterization. Moreover, the approach is not restrictive at all in the case of homogeneous credit portfolios thanks to De Finetti's theorem. In factor models, the distribution of conditional default probabilities is the key input for the pricing of CDO tranches. Therefore, we can compare different factor models by simply comparing the distribution functions of the corresponding conditional default probabilities. In the second part, we describe a hedging strategy of CDO tranches based upon dynamic trading of the corresponding credit default swap index. We rely upon a homogeneous Markovian contagion framework, where only single defaults occur. In our framework, a CDO tranche can be perfectly replicated by dynamically trading the credit default swap index and a risk free asset. Default intensities of the names only depend upon the number of defaults and are calibrated onto an input loss surface. Numerical implementation can be carried out fairly easily thanks to a recombining tree describing the dynamics of the aggregate loss

Full textThe increase in the number of plays for young people means that a new repertoire is growing. But this repertoire builds its identity when intended for people of any age, paradoxically. Today, the child is considered as able to think by himself. So the author has to give up being a teacher, and he speaks to the child as an equal. The artist is still an adult, who tries to describe for the child a confused world with easy but not simplistic words in all sincerity. Then everyone, old and young, becomes concerned. Besides, young people makes a fresh and incandescent audience that encourages the playwright to use all the means of the theatre in a firework display : words, imagination, fun
Rémy-Joulain, Claude. "De la Négritude d'Aimé Césaire au Tout-Monde d'Édouard Glissant : analyse d'un retournement discursif." Thesis, Aix-Marseille, 2013. http://www.theses.fr/2013AIXM3122.
Full textIn this thesis title: "From Aimé Césaire's Negritude to Edouard Glissant's Tout-Monde, an analysis of a discursive reversal", the keywords – Negritude, discursive, reversal, Tout-monde, and creolization – set out two fundamental paradoxes and paradigms. These are the relationship between Caribbean society and Cartesian West ; and that between the disciples gathered around Confiant and Chamoiseau, the sons, against Césaire, the father. The central question is one of semio-anthropology and rhetoric; think of the Cesairian analysis of oxymorons and neologisms such as "départementalisation". We can observe the importance given to the argumentative process in the example of the discourse against colonialism, which centers around these binary confrontations, and is symbolized by the rhetoric of the White/white/Black/black or the semiotic of Greimas as reinterpreted by Bremond. Following on from M. Rinn, we will trace the journey of an actant-type from the role of patient as victim of the effects of the colonial issue to a reversal into the role of an agent who is an actor in his own destiny. This antithetic structure is replaced by the poetics of the Relationship – be it metaleptic or allegorical – for Glissant who, even at the collective level, replaces the nation-state, a bastion of globalization according to Césaire, by the relationship-nation, open to the diversity of interactions between its peripheral elements. The common choices made by Césaire, the poet, and Glissant, the philosopher, lead us to structure our thesis around Ricoeur's original notions of the early and latter stages of civilizations and the recreation of lost cultures. These also inspire the dialogic of the dramatic level of these works. With the cunning of the Trickster, we move to a reversal of the dialectic of evil by various effects of humor, where the beauty of the world is best expressed, where differences are agglutive rather than reductive

Full textThe aim of the present dissertation is to give a synchronic and diachronic analysis of the French determiners tout and n’importe quel. As for tout, we focus on its use as a free choice determiner. Whereas tout can have other interpretations, n'importe quel can be interpreted only as a free choice item. Free choice determiners allow a random selection of a referent from a set of possible individuals. The synchronic analysis of tout and n'importe quel starts by considering several analyses provided for the English determiner any. Then, we present the distribution of the two determiners in French. We analyze the role of context on their interpretation and determine their quantificational force. The differences between tout and n'importe quel are pointed out with respect to both their syntax and their semantics. As for the diachronic analysis, we start by pointing out two differences between the two determiners: their origin and the period of time when they entered the French lexicon. Because of these differences, our analysis of the diachrony of tout is carried out in a different way from the analysis of n’importe quel. In the case of n'importe quel, we describe the process which led to its formation which began with the entry of the verb importer in the French lexicon. We explain why the determiner n'importe quel appeared, despite the existence of other free choice items, such as un…quel qu'il soit which have an interpretation that is very close to that of n'importe quel. Our analysis of tout is based mainly on the evolution of its distribution and on the fact that this determiner is not necessarily a free choice item

Full textWe study, on complete connected Riemannian manifolds, the generalization of a trace inequality, proved first in the Euclidean spaces by Fefferman and Phong. This inequality yields positivity condition and estimates on the lower bound of the spectrum of Schrödinger operators with the potential having a bounded Morrey norm. We first prove that this inequality is satisfied on manifolds which satisfy to the volume doubling condition and the L1 Poincaré inequality, such as manifolds with non-negative Ricci curvature. We show next that it is sufficient for the manifold to admits a relative Faber Krahn inequality. We also show a local version of the inequality, that holds on manifolds that admits a relative Faber Krahn inequality on small balls uniquely, such as those with semi-bounded Ricci curvature. Finally we establish a similar inequality on the connected sums of manifolds satisfying to the previous hypothesis. We also deduce sufficient condition such

Full textThis thesis focuses on performance characteristics in the Cross-Country Olympic Mountain Bike (MTB XCO) discipline. The performance produced in a man-material interaction situation results from the optimal adequacy between the rider and his equipment. It results as much from mechanical factors (frame geometry and rigidity, suspension adjustment, tyre size, transmission) as biomechanical (adoption of a pedalling pattern adapted to the terrain), physiological (economy of movement, endurance, fatigue) or motivational (self-confidence). The XCO's specific discipline has evolved considerably, both in terms of regulations and technology, in just under a decade. Therefore, the objective of my research has been to characterize both in-situ and laboratory performance in order to improve our understanding of the discipline in its current state, in order to propose interventions at the level of training and on more fundamental aspects of pedalling in mountain bikes. By focusing in particular on high-level practice, the dynamics of effort and certain biomechanical aspects of pedalling, the results of this work have enabled us to highlight that the current racing format corresponds to a high intensity event that is both acyclic and intermittent, but also that changing the equipment does not necessarily lead to a change in the pedalling pattern of riders

Full textLn this thesis, we study some similarity problems and the extended spectrum of an operator. ln the first part, we give criteria of similarity to some classes of partial isometries. For example, we obtain the following result. Let T be an operator on H an Hilbert space. T is similar to the direct sum of a Jordan operator and an isometry if and only if T is power-bounded, T has a finite as cent and there exists a power~bounded operator S E B(H) so that TnsnTn = Tn, for all n of No This results can be seen as partial results to an open problem of Badea and Mbekhta (2005) . ln the second part, we obtain a criterion of joint similarity to two contractions that we apply to have results of pertubation of operators jointly similar to contractions. The extended spectrum is the subject of the last part. Some of its links with other spectra of an operator are proposed before studying the behaviour of the extended spectrum of sorne classes of operators. Finally we use the extended spectrum to give criteria of hypercyclicity that we will compare to a criterion of Godefroy and Shapiro

Full textTerrestrial and satellite mobile technologies are naturally complementary. Terrestrial cellular systems are adapted to urban areas where the user density is maximal but their cost-effectiveness is much lower in sparsely populated areas. On the contrary, mobile satellite systems cover large zones at a relatively low cost but they cannot ensure coverage in urban areas because of signal blockage due to buildings. By combining both systems for ensuring coverage in cities with terrestrial networks and in less dense areas with the satellite, we obtain a system with complete coverage for an optimal cost. Such a system is called mobile terrestrial and satellite "integrated system". It is likely that in a few years, the dream of enabling satellite connectivity on all mobile terminals will be within reach. The satellite will then be perceived for mobile terminal users as an additional access technology to an "integrated network" comparable to Wifi, Bluetooth or cellular technologies (GSM, UMTS, LTE). The spectrum reuse by terrestrial systems is a key for the success of this integration because it justifies part of the investments in the satellite systems that cannot be supported by user subscriptions only. However, implementation of spectrum sharing generates many issues: regulatory, commercial and obviously technical. This thesis brings answers on the latter and I hope it will contribute to make this dream of integration become reality. We used a descending approach of the issue of spectrum sharing in terrestrial and satellite mobile systems. First, we establish a synthesis of all the aspects covered by the integration of mobile satellite and terrestrial systems. Then, we made the state of the art on the issue of satellite spectrum reuse by terrestrial systems and we completed it with our analysis. We decided to focus our work on one of the major issues raised by this reuse: co-frequency interference generated by the terrestrial system on the satellite uplink. From the analysis of a solution proposing a static spectrum sharing by coordination of frequency plans (the exclusion zone principle), we elaborated and analyzed performances of innovative mechanisms of resources allocation in the terrestrial system that allows to reduce significantly the interferences. Moreover, we proposed a method for guaranteeing to the satellite system that interferences from the terrestrial system will not exceed a given threshold. At last, we define an architecture and the associated mechanism that allow the implementation of our solution in an integrated terrestrial-satellite systems based on LTE technology. The study of spectrum sharing in terrestrial-satellite mobile systems is rather new and this thesis represents an innovative work that may serve as a basis for future studies on this issue

Full textTo meet the requirements of microelectronic devices miniaturization, innovative energy storage systems are emerging and are able to cross the large scale industrialization phase. The goal of this thesis is to achieve a comprehensive reliability study of LiCoO2 based microbatteries developed by an « all-solid » approach. From the performance analysis of the operating system, aging of the microbatteries was characterized in storage and electrochemical cycling modes. Through an adapted exponential function from the Weibull failure probability law, the aging of the microbatteries has been modeled. Finally, a mathematical tool dedicated to the lifetime prediction of the devices in application has been developed. Otherwise, with the help of the electrochemical characterization of the different layers and interfaces of the system and a reading methodology of galvanostatic discharge curves, the main failure source has been identified. The convergence of results made it possible to highlight the leading role of the LiCoO2 positive electrode on the mechanisms leading to aging of the microbatteries. Thenceforth, a failure scenario and reliability performance improvement opportunities have been proposed

Full textThe dynamical properties of solid solution KTa1-xNBxO3, presenting a structural phase transition for niobium concentration higher than 0. 8 %, have been studied systematically as a function of temperature and niobium concentration. This study has been carried out experimentally by Raman spectroscopy in the cubic phase and as function of symmetry. The intense Raman spectrum shows the same strucutres than in pur KTaO3. It can be attributed essentially to second order diffusion, and the introduction of niobium ion do not modify it basically. These experimental results have been analysed in the framework of an anharmonic dynamical shell model. The non-linearity is treated in terms of fourth-order electron-phonon coupling, localized on the oxygen ions, which means in fact, a non linear polarisability of these ions. Our calculations show that these couplings which explain accurately the softenning of ferroelectric mode, are also responsible for the strong second order Raman spectrum observed in the cubic phase. Indeed, the various structures, their profile, their behaviour with temperature, symmetry and concentration of niobium ions are well reproduced within the framework of this model

Full textThis research aimed to better understand two language disorders : those associated with autism spectrum disorder and dyslexia. Recent advances indicate how cortical collective neural behaviour intervene in speech segmentation and decoding. Cortical oscillations allow integration temporal windows at syllabic (4-7 Hz) and phonemic (25-35 Hz) time scale, resulting in chunking continuous speech signal into linguistically relevant units. We measured slow fluctuations of rhythmic cortical activity and their topography in healthy subjects, in subjects with autism spectrum disorder and in dyslexic subjects using combined fMRI and EEG. We showed that the sensitivity to syllabic and phonemic density is atypical in dyslexia and in autism. In autism gamma and theta activity do not engage synergistically in response to speech. Theta activity in left auditory cortex fails to track speech modulations and to down-regulate gamma oscillations that encode speech acoustic details. The language disorder in autism results from an altered coupling of slow and fast oscillations that disrupts the temporal organization of the speech neural code. In dyslexia, theta activity is not altered and theta-paced readout of gamma activity is preserved, enabling the phonemic decoding, even atypical (faster). In both pathologies, auditory oscillatory anomalies lead to atypical oscillation-based connectivity between auditory and other language cortices

Full textThis thesis is centred on the fantastic features in Le Spectre Large by Gérard Prévot (1975) and subsequently on a comparison with the features from another collection by Prévot, La Nuit du Nord (1974), studied by Ricci in 1993. The analysis is based on Tzvetan Todorov’s theory of the fantastic, which puts its emphasis on the hesitation whether the enigmatic phenomena has its origins in the natural (uncanny) or the supernatural (marvellous) world. The research of Prévot’s literary work is interesting given that, compared to other Belgian fantastic writers such as Jean Ray or Thomas Owen, Gérard Prévot is still rather unknown and not much studied. With regard to the results, it is found that the stories have a mixed qualities in relation to fantastic theory. In the better tales, the fantastic is born out of a narration with a limited point of view and a vague and sometimes unknown narrator. It is also born out of the plot which introduces the disruptive elements at the very last page. When comparing the corpus with Ricci’s study (1993), several common features are found, but also a few differences. Prévot has written the two books using a similar vocabulary and the stories often take place in related environments – the North, a place with mysterious connotations. A fantastic which Ricci calls “social” can also be found in both collections. The main point of difference between the books is the narration. While the narrator in La Nuit du Nord has an omniscient status, the one in Le Spectre Large is clearly limited and anonymous.

Full textThis thesis is addressed to the Education Science students curious about the mechanisms of production in which they are involved. It also concerns professionals committed to working patterns that tend to take away their technical and methodological predispositions from them. Eventually, every person involved and committed in the production of a master-work could find this extremely simple idea defended by this thesis: it is necessary to keep a diary, to think our philosophic relationship with the techniques, production and the manufacturing of daily life

Full textHypothesis: every being is searching for accomplishment. From the seed to the fruits, the individual journeys can be very different and more or less successful. The author, a scientist but also a follower of the Lakota spirituality, reports about such a search. The women and men who were interviewed are all partaking to the Sun Dance of the Native Americans of the great plains of North America. At the turn of the nineties, some of these Sun dances have begun to open to non-Indians. What are the motivations of the dancers, what are these accomplishments that they seek and how do they reach them or not?To answer these questions, the concepts of the Institutional Analysis, the theory of “Moments” from H. Lefebvre and R. Hess and the scientific knowledge on trance and hypnosis were put to contribution. If they are well prepared, the sun dancers offer their prayers, their sweat, their joy and their suffering collectively so that the people can live and life can continue. On an individual level they dance to lighten the suffering of relatives and to become a better person. Several factors can lead to a real transformation:1. They come at least for six years. The “moment” of the Sun Dance is like an eternal return enabling personal development through the deepening of the experience.2. Dancing four days under a scorching sun, without drinking and without eating pushes back the physical and mental limits of the person.3. We think that the whole system of the sun dance: Dancing, praying, fasting, songs and Drumbeat… induces a kind of hypnotic trance on the dancers. The individual preparation all year long, the intentions and altruistic prayers are acting like the input of a hypnotherapist to remodel the personality of the dancer and his relationship to the world. This altruistic trend is enhanced by the fact that it is an opening up, ecstatic trance. The dancer dances to open up to all beings. “We are all related” ends every prayer

Full textThis work is essentially devoted to the synthesis and study of amorphous thin films obtained from lamellar crystalline materials such as LixV₂ 0₅ (0 ≤ x ≤ 0. 2), M¹¹PS₃ (M= Mn, Fe, Ni, Cd, Sn and ln2/3)The achievement of materials presenting a correct stoichiometry has required the realization of a flash evaporation device operating at 1500° C and adapted to allow quenching of the vapor at liquid nitrogen temperature. The amorphous thin films have been characterized by, optical and electron scanning microscopy, microscopy, microprobre, UV-visible and I. R. Spectroscopies. Their electrical conductivity has been studied and compared with the crystalline parent compounds. The local atomic arrangement (short range order) of several MPS₃ films has been studied using the E. X. A. F. S. Technique. Results show that the films have the same basic structure as the parent crystalline compounds, but deviati0ns are observed, depending on the metal M. The possibility of applying these films to design new photovoltaic devices has been examined. Amorphous V₂0₅ and LixV₂0₅ films have n type semiconducting properties and they lead to photosensitive p-n junction when deposited on to p type silicon wafers. Finally, we have examined the possibility of synthesing new amorphous M₃Ps₄ materials either by flash evaporation and by a novel soft chemistry, i. E. Synthesis by reaction M ions in acetonitrile on the PS₄ ³- Ligand
