Résumé L’article vise à explorer la nature des rapports entre garçons dans les collèges classiques entre 1870 et 1960 à partir des archives institutionnelles, de lettres et de journaux intimes, de publications diverses et des témoignages d’anciens élèves. Il montre que les rapports entre hommes s’y construisent dans un espace trouble où l’obsession pour la maîtrise des pulsions et la peur de l’homosexualité brident la camaraderie et la sensibilité que valorisent, par ailleurs, certains aspects de l’enseignement humaniste. Cette tension entre des valeurs concurrentes est particulièrement visible entre 1930 et 1960 tandis que s’accentue la condamnation des amitiés particulières. Pendant cette période tout particulièrement, l’influence des pairs impose une pression en faveur d’une performance virile où le féminin, genre inférieur, sert de repoussoir.

Ressusciter l’héroïsme en réécrivant des épopées aux temps modernes, telle est l’idée commune à l’auteur de la trilogie des Mousquetaires et à Jin Yong, romancier d’arts martiaux souvent appelé « l’Alexandre Dumas chinois ». Mais qu’est-ce qu’un héros ? Chacun des deux écrivains explore à sa manière ce thème majeur de la littérature d’aventures chevaleresques à travers les portraits des grandes figures dans son œuvre, que nous abordons dans notre étude comparative sous trois aspects qui se déroulent comme sur une échelle des plans au cinéma : le parcours évolutif du héros, les relations affectives qui marquent sa personnalité et les traits saillants de son tempérament. Constamment en rapport de forces avec le pouvoir en place souvent représenté par l’autorité paternelle, les mousquetaires dumasiens et les chevaliers errants chez Jin Yong se transforment progressivement en grands transgresseurs qui se débattent contre la fatalité de la caste à laquelle ils appartiennent afin d’agir en liberté dans un monde cherchant à les dompter. Ce fil épique est entouré, à l’instar du bâton d’un thyrse, du fil sentimental. Deux discours de l’amour anticonformistes se construisent, se contrastent et finalement se répondent dans une réalité beaucoup moins rose que l’image codifiée de l’idylle, cédant la place à l’amitié virile, née dans une camaraderie chaleureuse ou des moments d’intensité, idéalisée ou revêtant d’une certaine ambiguïté, et magnifiée dans tous les deux univers romanesques comme une valeur suprême sans forcément être sainte. Le grand écart entre nos héros et le profil d’un chevalier sans peur et sans reproche se fait sentir davantage lorsque l’on les examine de plus près à l’aune du niveau culturel, de la moralité et de la motivation de leurs actes. Très humains en partageant des défauts, des banalités et des limites, ils n’étonnent pas moins par de hautes qualités primitives, sans exclure un accent comique. Reviving heroism by writing modern epics is a shared authorial intention on the part of the author of the Musketeers trilogy and Jin Yong, a writer of martial arts and chivalry novels often called “China’s Alexandre Dumas”. But what is a hero? These two novelists respectively explore this major theme in chivalric literature through their portrayal of important characters in their works. This comparative study, drawing upon the zooming technique in cinematography, explores these three topics: the heroes’ bildung, the affective relationships that influence their character formation, and the salient features of their personalities. In their constant struggles against the established authorities, especially paternal authorities, the Dumasian musketeers and Jin Yong’s knight-errants gradually transform into great transgressors who struggle to break free from the restraints of the social class to which they belong in order to act freely in a world seeking to tame them. This epic theme is entangled, like Dionysus’s scepter, with the intricacies of affective relationships. Two non-conformist discourses of love are constructed, contrasted and eventually pitted against each other in a reality much less rosy than the codified idyll, as they inevitably give way to the notion of brotherhood, which, either idealized or obfuscated, is celebrated and glorified even with its fallibities. The wide gap between the hero characters and the ideal image of a fearless and infallible knight is all the more visible when we examine them more closely in terms of their book knowledge, moral awareness and behavioral motivation. They are portrayed as ordinary human beings characterized by faults, banalities and limitations, while they are also given a sense of noble savageness and a touch of comic lightheartedness. Dans le cadre d’une médecine de plus en plus technique et spécialisée, les médecins coopèrent de plus en plus ensemble au cours du parcours de soin du patient. Les relations confraternelles entre médecins sont réglementées partiellement par le Code de déontologie. Dans la pratique, il existe parfois des difficultés pouvant altérer la qualité de vie au travail des médecins. À partir de ce constat, l’objet de ce travail est de proposer une réflexion éthique pour ces relations. Après une approche méta-éthique pour définir quelle théorie éthique pourrait aider à conceptualiser l’agir relationnel confraternel, il nous est apparu que l’éthique des vertus était la plus appropriée pour répondre à des situations archétypales de difficultés pratiques. La première partie de ce travail fonde une éthique de la vertu dans le cadre d’une téléologie du bon soin choisie par le médecin au moyen de son intégration au corps médical, ce qui forge son identité médicale, dans un processus que nous appelons iatrologie et s’intégrant dans une approche de l’ordre narratif. La deuxième partie du travail développe trois vertus particulières de la confraternité, désignées par un travail de sciences humaines autour de l’analyse d’entretiens et de questionnaires réalisés auprès de jeunes médecins. Enfin, la troisième partie pose la question des rapports des vertus entre elles en vue de mettre en exergue une vertu architectonique. À partir des notions d’amitié et de justice, abordées à partir d’Aristote et de MacIntyre, nous proposons une vertu de justice se spécifiant dans ce que nous appelons la correction confraternelle
Within the framework of a more and more technical and specialized medicine, the doctors cooperate more and more together during the course of care of the patient. The fraternal relations between doctors are partially regulated by the Code of ethics. In the practice, there are sometimes difficulties that can affect the quality of life at work for doctors. From this observation, the purpose of this work is to propose an ethical reflection for these relationships. After a meta-ethical approach to define which ethical theory could help to conceptualize confraternal interpersonal skills, it appeared to us that the ethic of virtues was the most appropriate to answer archetypal situations of practical difficulties.The first part of this work establishes an ethic of virtue as part of a teleology of the good care chosen by the physician through his integration into the medical profession, what forges its medical identity, in a process we call iatrology and which is integrated into an approach of the narrative order. The second part of the work develops three particular virtues of the fellowship, appointed by a work of human sciences around the analysis of conversations with young doctors and questionnaires filled in by young doctors. Finally, the third part raises the question of the relation of the virtues to one another to highlight an architectural virtue. From friendship and justice, approached from Aristotle and MacIntyre, we propose a virtue of justice that is specified in what we call the confraternal correction

Abstract Poor relief throughout late medieval Europe was supplied by a series of interlinking systems from the Church and State to the craft guild, confraternity and hospital to more informal networks of parenti, amici, vicini ('kin, friends, neighbours').1 Underpinning all these systems lay the highest theological virtue, Charity, which provided the moral justification for the preservation of peace and the maintenance of order and the Buon Comune.

The Philomath Society, which was set up on the 1st of October 1817 in Vilnius, is a great example of friendship. The amity became a main motive of society’s birth and a main rule of its functioning. There were two aspects of friendship – a value and the relationships between Philomaths. The Society members idealised friendship and credited it with worthy qualities. Moreover, the companionship was treated as a virtue and was contrasted the selfishness, hated by Philomaths. The Philomaths’ friendship evolved because of their departures as well as the characterological changes. They befriended as the young students but with time they became the men who started their adult life. That is why the relations were not free of conflicts or misunderstandings. However, their interactions influenced and determined their fates strongly. In some cases the friendship survived till the end of Philomaths’ lives.
