Abstract:
Purpose This paper aims to examine the economic impact from dark-sky tourism in national parks in the USA on the Colorado Plateau. The Colorado Plateau is a region encompassing parts of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah that is known for its dark, star-filled night skies. Tourists in national parks are increasingly interested in observing this natural recreational amenity – especially considering that it is an ecological amenity that is quickly disappearing from the planet. Using a 10-year forecast of visitors to the national parks and using standard input-output modeling, it is observed that, for the first time anywhere, the value of dark skies to tourism in this area. The authors find that non-local tourists who value dark skies will spend $5.8bn over the next 10 years in the Colorado Plateau. These tourist expenditures will generate $2.4bn in higher wages and create over 10,000 additional jobs each year for the region. Furthermore, as dark skies are even more intense natural amenity in the non-summer months, they have the ability to increase visitor counts to national parks year-round and lead to a more efficient use of local community and tourism-related resources throughout the year. This research aims to analyze women’s participation in tourism activities in the Outer Baduy tribe, according to the tourism components consisting of attraction, amenity, accessibility, and ancillary (supporting factors). This research uses a qualitative research method, in which data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. This research involved 18 informants from several stakeholders, such as the tourism awareness group, handicraft producers, homestay and restaurant owners, government officers, and tourists who have visited the destination. Informants’ selection uses a purposive sampling technique. According to the tourism components, the research results show women’s participation in tourism activities in the Outer Baduy tribe, only two of four tourism components: attraction and amenity. In the attraction component, women possess more or less the same level of participation as men. However, in the amenity component, women may have a higher level of participation than men may. In the accessibility and ancillary (supporting factors) components, only men participation existed. The limited level of women’s participation is rooted deep and taken for granted in their culture. The women themselves do not dispute inequality and disparity because they consider their role as women in the domestic sector and not in the public sector.

Keramikan, without exception, located in the borders of Kecamatan Suohand Bandar Negeri Suoh has captured many local tourists by its exceptionalgeological and scientific importance: geothermal site. Abstract:
Abstract The arrival of amenity migrants has significant impacts for many rural areas in economic, environmental and social terms. While the causes of relocation from cities to remote rural localities can be generally understood as attempts to change the way of life, the consequences of this phenomenon are relatively diverse. Perception of rural space from the migrant´s point of view stems partly from the so-called rural idyll, which shapes the image of the countryside across society, especially through media, tourism and recreation. This study aims to discover links between rural idyll and motivational factors of the Czech amenity migrants. Semi-structured interviews with the Czech amenity migrants have been used in order to uncover the social dimension of the phenomenon of rural idyll. Emphasis has been put both on the genesis of their relationship to the rural environment, but also on the consistency and differences between expectations and the reality of rural life. I identify the key role of tourism and recreation in shaping the initial perception of rural space, whereas the role of media is rather implicit. In the perception of amenity migrants, the initial image of rural space differed only slightly when the physical environment of rural space is considered but a mismatch is found between initial ideas about rural communities and their real experience after moving there.

Industry and government bodies have recommended augmentation of traditional production and marketing techniques as ways of increasing an industry’s profitability. This article values the amenity of the wine industry, a sensory experience that provides an array of opportunities both culturally to the tourist and economically to many regions across the world. Using the wine industry in the Central West region of New South Wales, Australia, we use input–output analysis to assess the economic impacts of this industry and the amenity hidden within. The industry not only provides jobs and commerce supporting local prosperity but also supplies a mixed production and consumption amenity from an agricultural product that meets the tourist’s leisure desire – an amenity that transcends from its origin in the vineyard to its destination at the table.

Abstract:
Due to the fragility of forest ecosystems, developing forest recreational resources must consider sustainable ecological, economic, and social development, and reduce impacts from recreational activities. Diverse forests with different biodiversity could promote forest ecosystem services and resistance to the pressure of tourism development. Under such circumstance, it is important to ensure that the travel and tourism industry develops under the principle of sustainable management and assists ecosystem conservation. Forest ecosystem services (FES) have received increasing attention. Especially, the amenity value provided by FES is beneficial for enhancing human health, and has gained popularity. Huisun National Forest Park (HNFP) has the greatest natural forests in Taiwan, and tourists visit the HNFP for the well-preserved environment, abundance of green space, cleanliness, beautiful scenery, and quietness. This study assessed the amenity value of the Huisun National Forest Park (HNFP) by adopting the payment card method via face-to-face survey data of 223 respondents. The annual amenity value of the HNFP per person is NT$2884 in winter and NT$2905 in summer. The total annual amenity value of the HNFP is NT$473,978,430–474,755,774. The results showed that gender, age, education level, monthly income, place of residence, participation in environmental groups, frequency of visiting the HNFP, and stay period significantly influence willingness to pay (WTP). This study concludes that an ecologically sustainable forest with ecosystem services could provide multiple benefits to different stakeholders.

The 26 December 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami appears to have reduced tourist visits to southern Thailand and particularly to the provinces of Phuket and Phang Nga. In Thailand, a much higher proportion of the tsunami victims were tourists than in other affected nations. Also, the tourism industry, which is a major source of foreign exchange, is very sensitive to the perception of risk created by disasters like this tsunami. Although revenues may remain depressed for some time, it is likely that tourism will rebound in this region because of the attractiveness of the physical amenity and the value it offers for European tourists. Damage to the physical infrastructure did not serve as a substantial impediment to response and recovery. Information and warning systems, together with buildings that afford vertical evacuation, will protect lives and reduce perceived risk.

Abstract:
Tanjung Lesung is one of the priority tourism destinations expected to provide a distribution of tourism activities in the Territory of the Republic of Indonesia to support the equitable distribution of community welfare, open employment, and business opportunities, while also providing solutions for tourism areas in Indonesia that have reached their carrying capacity. As a result, it is critical to assess how the state of the tourism component (attraction, accessibility, amenity), tourism carrying capacity, and visitor experience may be used as a guide for the growth of tourism in the Tanjung Lesung Area. Mixed methods or hybrid methods are used in the research. According to the findings of the tourism component condition, existing tourist sites have their attractions but are not supported by suitable access and amenities. Snorkeling, diving, seagrass tours, and beach recreation are just a few of the activities available. Apart from the difficulty in obtaining public transportation, the port conditions of Tanjung Jaya Village, which is the only community-managed access to Liwungan Island, are still worrying. Because tourism is stagnating on Liwungan Island, decent amenities are not yet available. Liwungan Island's carrying capacity still allows it to house and transport 30-80 people per visit. Based on the carrying capacity of the area, the following activities can be calculated: snorkeling, diving, seagrass tourism, and beach recreation, all of which have the potential to attract additional tourists. If there is a boom in tourist visits in the future, a tourism governance strategy can be developed for tourist destinations that are still viable, such as Kampung Wisata Cikadu. Then, based on the results of the Liwungan Island tourist experience survey, it was discovered that travelers' expectations of the experience they had while visiting Liwungan Island were not met. As a result, the researchers urge that the community's role in determining entry charges and managing Liwungan Island tourist attractions be reviewed.

Abstract:
Recently, in Korea, there have been some disturbing events forcing a trade-off between the expansion of agrophotovoltaic (APV) power plants and the agricultural policy to enhance the public benefit function of agriculture. Under this context, this study attempts to examine the public perception of agricultural landscape and the APV power plants and to analyze the impact of APV power plants on the amenity value of the agricultural landscape. The results of the analysis based on the choice experiment method shows that the marginal willingness-to-pay for a rural tourism accommodation with a ‘agricultural landscape view’ is USD 64.37 higher compared to ‘agrophotovoltaics panel view.’ This implies that the value of the agricultural landscape decreases when solar panels are installed on farmland, signifying the detrimental impact of the APV power plants on the multi-functionality of agriculture. If the installation of APVs is expanded to farmlands nationwide, the amenity value of agricultural landscape is estimated to decrease by USD 1.70 billion or 55.0% of the total estimated amenity value in Korea.

Abstract:
The supply of tourism, in many respects, remains an unresolved area of theoretical and empirical development. The reasons for this are many, but the author argues in this paper that one of the limiting core areas of conceptual development in tourism economics is the general need for an analytical framework that captures generic production processes used to produce output from the tourism sector. One important unresolved issue of production includes use of critical resources such as environmental goods that serve as latent primary factor inputs to the production process of tourism. Often, these resources are hidden from analysis due to their non-priced common-pool attributes. This is particularly true in rural amenity-rich regions where nature-based tourism firms are becoming increasingly important to regional economies. Using forest resources as an example, the incorporation of non-priced tourism production inputs more completely specifies the tourism production function, provides a critical linkage to land and recreation resource management, and allows for more integrative tourism planning approaches.

Abstract:
Australia's rangelands are experiencing a radical re-evaluation of broadacre natural resources, with declining commodity values and enhanced amenity values. This is indicative of a transition from a productionist to a post-productionist era in rural resource use and related policy directions. While this transition offers new opportunities, it also presents formidable structural problems for our rangelands, most notably in the shift from market towards non-market values and in the geographical transfer of value. These challenges require new responses in strategic regional planning. Effective planning must recognise not only the structural problems endemic to the rangelands but also the highly differentiated regional potentials which are increasingly evident. A provisional regionalisation for strategic resource use planning is proposed, based upon resource orientation and obtained using a simple scaling of potentials for pastoralism, mining, tourism and Aboriginal resource use. Seven distinctive regional types are proposed, with the most powerful dimensions of differentiation being between commodity - versus amenity - orientation and also between accessibility/urbanisation (linked to closer settlement, mining and tourism) versus remoteness (associated with 'frontier' regions and Aboriginal homelands). A structured approach towards translating resource potential into regional benefits is outlined.

Abstract:
This article basically has three objectives, knowing the tourism potential on Mudal River Ecotourism, knowing the stages and factors that influence tourism development and recommending tourism development efforts. To achieve these objectives the method used is descriptive qualitative by analyzing the data using weighting and scoring. The results of the study indicate that the existing tourism potential is amenity, accessibility, attractions and institutional support. The four potentials are in the 3rd phase including consolidation. The development effort that can be taken is to maximize land use without damaging the environment by taking into account the number of tourists; organize public transportation; planning management in the future; expand market segmentation and product diversification; improve the quality of human resources; actively involve local communities, align policy with the community and control the environment.
