Alien (R. Scott, 1978) est testé aussi célèbre pour son monstre terrifiant que pour son personnage principal, Ripley. Première femme forte du cinéma fantastique mainstream, ce personnage a subi une évolution profonde au cours des deux épisodes suivants, Aliens (]. Cameron, 1986) et Aliens 3 (D. Fincher, 1992). Fait quasi unique à Hollywood, la trilogie se conclut pat sa mort. En constante hésitation quant au degré de proximité entre féminité et monstruosité, la trilogie place le corps de l’héroïne comme enjeu ultime de ses tensions narratives. Ce travail cherchera donc à comprendre l’interaction entre les représentations du monstrueux créées par ces trois films et le personnage interprété par Sigourney Weaver. Nous pourrons alors commencer à comprendre quelles réponses sont ainsi données à la question qui semble hanter Hollywood depuis toujours : « Que faire des femmes? »

Este ensayo estudia las múltiples consecuencias del colonialismo en Sudáfrica de la manera que son descritas en District 9 de Neil Blomkamp (2009). Esta contribución mantiene que esta película está estructurada sobre el principio de que el colonialismo, como cualquier tipo de nacionalismo, ha superado todos los límites posibles: geográficos, físicos, políticos, psicológicos o discursivos. Al hacerlo, se ha construido la identidad del otro que puede ser controlado y se le ha localizado en guetos. Sin embargo, District 9 demuestra cómo el cuerpo alien puede convertirse en un elemento fronterizo que une comunidades. Para este propósito, la naturaleza de género sin fronteras que representa la ciencia ficción se utiliza como el mejor medio para subvertir cualquier discurso totalitario, incluido el documental.

RESUMEN: Los Centros de Internamiento de Extranjeros son unos establecimientos públicos dedicados a asegurar el cumplimiento de las resoluciones administrativas que, en su día, decidan la expulsión, devolución o regreso de los extranjeros que se encuentren o pretendan ingresar ilegalmente en España. Aunque ni por su naturaleza ni por su finalidad son establecimientos penitenciarios, generan, sin embargo, un régimen jurídico entre la Administración y los extranjeros ingresados que presenta fuertes concomitancias con aquéllos. El presente trabajo se dedica precisamente a analizar su régimen jurídico. ABSTRACT: Alien Internment Centres —best know by their Spanish abbreviation CIES— are public establishments dedicated to ensure the fulfilment of the administrative resolutions deciding on the expulsion, devolution or returning of foreigners either already illegally in Spain or willing to enter the country illegally. Neither their nature nor their finality is to serve as penitentiary centres. Nevertheless the legal functioning of CIES and prisons share some similarities. The aim of the present essay is to analyze their legal status.

Fair warning to the reader: Culture of Death: The Assault on Medical Ethics in America, by Wesley J. Smith, is hard for me to review. I work at Rush–Presbyterian–St. Luke's Medical Center, where in April 1989, Rudy Linares removed his son, Sammy, from a ventilator at gunpoint. I took the criticism hard and was critical of others who were in the outcry. In fact, some of the people Smith criticizes are people with whom I had differences. Yet, Smith's views are so harsh and alien to my understanding of the culture and practice of healthcare that I find them off-putting. Further, he and I participate in the same listserv, where I often disagree with his postings.

In this essay, we marshal resources from a range of biblical, trinitarian and soteriological commitments, set within a broadly Barthian framework, to offer a doctrinal proposal for the Spirit’s role in the triune God’s work of at-one-ment. We argue that the Spirit plays a vital role in the atoning work of the triune God, as the Spirit is the love of God directed toward the incarnate Son a two-fold manner: (1) in the mode of wrath against our sin born by Christ our representative, and (2) in its mode of blessing in the resurrected and ascended Christ, the exalted one in whom we receive the promised Holy Spirit. Seen in this light, Christ’s death and resurrection was God’s two-fold act of love in the Spirit: the two-fold means of making our representative, Jesus, a fit receptacle for the promised Holy Spirit, that in him all the peoples of the earth might be blessed through his recapitulation of Israel. Key to this thesis are two commitments: (1) seeing a changing economic relationship between Jesus and the Holy Spirit integral to Jesus’ recapitulation of Israel, and (2) viewing wrath as a mode of God’s love, and therefore a part of, rather than something alien to, the work of the Spirit. With these doctrinal resources in hand, we have the necessary conceptual tools to affirm that the Spirit, just as much as the Father and the Son, is the one who saves us in the death and resurrection of Jesus.

Back in early 1982, a mate in New Zealand wrote to me describing, in a very excited manner, his research into cultural aspects of Maori people, especially with respect to the poetry relating to funeral rites. Concurrently, I was completing the Multicultural Education Diploma, and fostering an infant interest in aspects of Australian literature dealing with the immigrant experience and cultural difference (viz. Judah Waten’s Alien Son, and Nancy Keesing’s Shalom). Whilst I had not at that stage successfully made the link between such literature and its effective use in the educational process of students of non-English speaking background, I remember thinking that perhaps I should soon pursue a course which would lead me to an understanding of Aboriginal Australians, in some way similar to Terry’s pursuit in New Zealand.

Durante casi ocho décadas varias regiones del país han sufrido graves violaciones a los derechos humanos e infracciones al DIH. Miles de campesinos, líderes sindicales y dirigentes políticos han sido asesinados, desaparecidos, desplazados, obligados a exiliarse, etc., pero ¿quiénes son los causantes de esas violaciones?, ¿en el actual mundo globalizado los actores del conflicto siguen siendo los mismos de otros tiempos?, ¿el crimen ha evolucionado y avanzado a otras esferas?, ¿qué factores hacen que quienes cometen tales violaciones sean susceptibles de ser declarados responsables?<br />Los anteriores cuestionamientos tratan de abordarse en el presente artículo, el cual intenta hacer una lectura de la realidad colombiana, a partir de fuentes teóricas sobre los principios y funcionamiento de los mercados, especialmente, el actuar de algunas empresas multinacionales, en este caso: Chiquita Brands, Dole, Del Monte y Drummond, con presencia en Colombia, desde hace más de ochenta años, como es el caso de Chiquita Brands. Con ello, se trata de demostrar que estas empresas, según confesiones de los más altos jefes paramilitares de Colombia, no han tenido ningún reparo en pagar a estos grupos armados ilegales para aumentar su lucro y acabar con la voz de los trabajadores y de las comunidades y así ampliar de manera descomunal sus márgenes de ganancia.<br />En tal sentido, millones de colombianos pertenecientes a los grupos más vulnerables de la sociedad, mueren, desaparecen, son torturados, desplazados, exiliados, etc., como consecuencia de algunas acciones de las multinacionales instaladas en el país que no sólo aprovechan nuestros recursos y nuestra mano de obra a muy bajo precio, sino que financian a grupos ilegales para cometer las más graves violaciones de derechos humanos, con el objetivo de expandirse y aumentar sus ganancias. Intento mostrar la magnitud de las consecuencias humanitarias, sociales y políticas causadas por las multinacionales en nuestro territorio y otros posibles escenarios para ir en búsqueda de justicia ante tales vulneraciones. De esa forma, ante la falta de celeridad y eficacia de la justicia colombiana frente a las acciones de estas multinacionales en nuestro país, se hace referencia a otro mecanismo del que han tenido que usar las víctimas: los estrados estadounidenses fundamentados en la “Clausula Alien Tort Claim Act” – ATCA - responsabilidad extracontractual extranjera, en violación a la ley de las naciones, estatuto que prohíbe y castiga las graves violaciones de derechos humanos de nacionales estadounidenses en el extranjero o de extranjeros en el territorio estadounidense.<br />Este es el único camino que en el campo específico de las violaciones a los derechos humanos del que pueden hacer uso las víctimas de delitos causados por estas empresas en territorio colombiano, ya que Estados Unidos se ha caracterizado por ser un país reservado en cuanto a la ratificación de diversos instrumentos de derechos humanos y derecho internacional humanitario, como el Estatuto de Roma.<br />Sin embargo, a falta de normatividad interna con relación a violaciones de derechos humanos como ya se mencionó, diversas decisiones judiciales se han basado en la Ley de Responsabilidad por Daños a Extranjeros (Alien Tort Claims Act o Alien Tort Statute-ATCA).

Whole Soyinka’s Death and the King’s Horseman is the convergence of two issues: the first focuses on the Yoruba priest Elesin, who represents the embodiment of the mythology and the history of the people; the second concentrates on the “sterile, existential wasteland” (Ralph-Bowman, 1983) of the white colonialists. The two issues come into conflict in the sacrifice of Elesin’s European-educated son, Olunde, whose death represents a significant and uncom promising affirmation of Yoruba cultural tradition. The sacrifice ofolunde, though appears as metaphysical, is entirely secular and practical. Hedies to preserve the safety of his community and his action can be appreciated as a form of martyrdom. Olunde’s sacrifice symbolizes an act that asserts the value of higher duty against both the internal threat of materialistic self-interest and the external threat of an imposed alien culture.

Hans Emmanuel Enoch (1896–1991) was born in Hamburg, the son of a manufacturer of sera and vaccines. Upon his father’s death, he took charge of the Hamburg Serum Werke. Following the rise of Hitler, he came to be pilloried in the Nazi press for allegedly having poisoned the population of Hamburg and was imprisoned for a time. He immigrated to England in 1935 where he had secured a position with the International Serum Company in Norwich. Following the outbreak of war, he was interned as an enemy alien, eventually ending up in Canada. In 1941, he was permitted to return to England, but wartime conditions prevented him from continuing to manufacture sera. At about this time, penicillin was making the headlines, and coupled with accounts of its miraculous properties, was the news that all production was reserved exclusively for the armed forces. Enoch decided to meet the public clamour for penicillin by producing a crude version which he termed ‘vivicillin.’ News of this spread globally, and he came to incur the disdain of Howard Florey for the attendant publicity. Notwithstanding this, vivicillin was to prove itself effective and its use led to the saving of lives.

This article discusses unhomely home of the diasporas which is constructed geographically and psychologically by encountering the alien culture based on Jhumpa Lahiri’s novel The Namesake. The purpose was to highlights recent debate on ‘home’ for immigrant and diasporic people. The notion of home for diasporas has become an injured concept which forces them to face scars and fractures, blisters and sores, and psychic traumas on the move. In such a situation, unhomely home refers to the condition of living here and belonging elsewhere. Jhumpa Lahiritells the story of two generations of Indian family and their struggle to acculturate themselves in the west. She presents a gloomy spectacle of racism, prejudice and marginalization in which Gogol, the son of a Bengali couple, Ashoke and Ashima Ganguli, becomes a victim of it. Gogol struggles to transform himself by escaping from the traditions of the community of Indian immigrants to which his family belongs. He also cannot assimilate with the American culture. He is an ABCD, an American Born Confused Desi. Here, Lahiri depicts that the ABCDs are unable to answer the question: where are you from? This novel explores the inner psyche of characters and brings out stirring and teasing scene of identity by clash of cultures. This paper hypothesizes that neither the diasporas belong to the root nor to the foreign land. They belong to nowhere. This hypothesis is tasted with postcolonial diasporic criticism.

The paper will try to analyze Kiran Desai’s Booker winning novel The Inheritance of Loss as story dealing primarily about the problems of migration faced by her characters, their tensions and dilemmas. One of the major concerns of diasporic literature is the problem of exile, displacement and the resulting consequences. Uprooting from one’s own home land is an agonizing process that brings numerous material and emotional traumas in the process of re-rooting in an alien land. The characters are often victims of circumstances and by the time they realize the problems, they are exhausted, miserable and frustrated. Even when they come back after their traumatic experiences, like the Judge in the novel, they often develop a sense of distrust and anger. They are in a state of confusion from which they find it difficult to come out. The paper will focus on the experiences of some of the characters in the novel – Jemubhai Patel, the Judge, and Biju, the son of Judge’s cook who is the central character of the novel. The book seems to suggest that true happiness does not lie in material wealth or comforts, but in one’s own dignity, identity and sense of belonging. In the novel, the characters especially Biju has to undergo number of traumatic experiences that brought a lot of material loss, but he has a spiritual gain- the realization of what brings true joy in life. The Chalcedonian confession of faith asserts that Christ is one person, the Son of God, subsisting in two natures, divine and human. The doctrine of the communication of idioms is essential to the life and practices of the Church insofar as we affirm there to be properties of deity and humanity present in the one subject, the Word made flesh. Such affirmations are made without a confusion of the two natures or their mutually distinct attributes. The affirmation that there is a divine and human nature in Christ is possible, however, only if it is also possible for human beings to think coherently about the divine nature, analogically, and human nature, univocally. Otherwise it is not feasible to receive understanding of the divine nature of Christ into the human intellect intrinsically and the revelation must remain wholly alien to natural human thought, even under the presumption that such understanding originates in grace. Likewise we can only think coherently of the eternal Son’s solidarity with us in human nature if we can conceive of a common human nature present in all human individuals. Consequently, it is only possible for the Church to confess some form of Chalcedonian doctrine if there is also a perennial metaphysical philosophy capable of thinking coherently about the divine and human natures from within the ambit of natural human reason. This also implies that the Church maintains a “metaphysical apostolate” in her public teaching, in her philosophical traditions, as well as in her scriptural and doctrinal enunciations.

A study of the effects of crude oil pollution on macrophyte assemblage was carried out in Kporghor River, Rivers State. Standard procedures were used in data collection. Temperature, total dissolved solutes, dissolved oxygen, pH and electrical conductivity were taken in-situ using Extech multi-parameter equipment while biological oxygen demand was incubated in a BOD bottle and determined using standard methods. Aquatic macrophytes were sampled with 0.5m × 0.5m quadrant and estimates of the percentage cover of each species inside the 0.5 × 0.5 m quadrant was transformed onto a scale based on Braun-Blanquet. The diversity and abundance of the different species were higher in Station (2), followed by station (3) and Station (1) respectively. Bambus vulgaris having a percentage of (29.7%) being the most abundant with percentage abundance, Cyrtospermum senegalense (8.72%), Nymphaea lotus (5.81), Acanthophoenix crinite (4.65%), Pistia stratiotes and Eichornia grassippes (2.91%) respectively. Unidentified species of macrophyte collected from the sampling area accounted for 11.62% species abundance. The result of physico-chemical parameters: temperature (29±0.63oC to 29.15±0.72oC), pH (6.03±0.12 to 6.9±0.15), TDS (36.23±6.82mg/ to 40.05±5.30mg/L), conductivity (4430±792.42μS/cm to 4914.75±569.42μS/cm), DO (5.20±1.20mg/L to 5.50±0.49mg/L) and BOD (3.08±0.94mg/L to 3.40±0.61mg/L). Copper (0.015mg/L) level was below WHO, SON and DPR standards for Cu in water bodies. Cadmium (0.10mg/L), Lead (0.18mg/L) and Nickel (0.28mg/L) concentrations were above WHO permissible limits. The abundance of Bambusa vulgaris (an alien species) suggests its adaptation to the study area. However, mitigation actions are recommended to restore this polluted ecosystem.

This article reviews the role of the theme of memory in the novel “The Buried Giant” by Kazuo Ishiguro. The motives of regeneration and loss of memory are relevant in modern literature as a whole and in works of K. Ishiguro in particular. The research is based on the methods of motivic and culturological analysis. In the novel “The Buried Giant”, the theme of memory has a structural meaning. It manifests through the spatial-temporal arrangement of the text, system of characters, symbolism of the novel, and organizes the core antithesis of the work – cultural memory and “mist” (embodiment of oblivion), which creates with the plotline and images of the characters. In the text of the novel, the people lose memory; the limits between the “native” and “alien”, the past and the future are blurred. The theme of memory is the source of unravelling of the plot. The two storylines are distinguished: external (the path of the characters seeking their son) and internal (regeneration of memory). The theme of memory organizes the system of characters: the protagonists Axl and Beatrice reconstruct the events preceding the beginning of the novel and accept them. Sir Gawain and Wistan remember the past, but they have a different attitude towards collective memory: the first one wants to prolong the oblivion, while the other one wants to restore the people's memories. The research demonstrates the role of the theme of memory within the structure of K. Ishiguro's novel “The Buried Giant”, which reveals the author's idea: nothing can be forgotten completely.

Pieter Laurens Phoonsen, son of Bernard Phoonsen, a distinguished servant of the Dutch East India Company, was born at Gale in Ceylon in 1691 and probably never saw the Netherlands in his life. He was enrolled as a common sailor on a ship of the Dutch Company at Batavia in the year 1707. The peak of his career in the service of the Company was reached when he succeeded Herman Bruinink as the directeur of the Dutch council at Surat late in the year 1728. The papers produced at the Dutch lodge at Surat throughout the 1730s show Phoonsen as an efficient servant of the Company, an upright man keen to uphold the honour of the white race in an alien environment and, on the whole, aloof from the fearful complications of these years in the city of Surat. Phoonsen's colleagues in the council at Surat carefully emulated their chief and the official papers give no ground to suspect that the Indian world enmeshed in any way with life as it went on behind the walls at the Dutch lodge or that the Company, whatever the directors might say, had any well-founded reason for complaint. True, such upright men were not universally admired even at the time. Apart from the distant suspicion of Amsterdam, there was scepticism closer at hand. Writing an ordinary business letter in the early 1730s, Henry Lowther, the chief of the English factory at Surat, noted: ‘The Dutch have sold their cargo, that is the Chief and Council have bought it underhand but at what price no one knows.’ The prolix correspondence from the Dutch lodge at Surat was not, however, tainted with such meanness.

Diseño de la red de aprovechamiento para modelarse y resolverse desde las teorías de redes, donde los nodos son los puntos de recolección y deben estar conectados por ramas (distancias entre puntos de recolección) para la actividad de recolección de los residuos sólidos aprovechables en el municipio de Sogamoso.
Análisis de la red de aprovechamiento, para definir la ruta más corta que optimice los recursos que intervienen en las mismas. The university and teaching from their mission to contribute to regional development and social inclusion are not alien to facing problems in the different regions where they participate, it is for that reason that the research work contributes to the fulfillment of the legal requirements that must comply with the ex-officio recyclers for the exploitation activities (Decree 596 of 2016). The research shows the methods and techniques applied from the operations research, for the “Modeling of the harvesting collection network (micro routes) from the public cleaning service in the municipality of Sogamoso”, such as:
Design of the exploitation network to be modeled and solved from the network theories, where the nodes are the collection points and must be connected by branches (distances between collection points) for the usable solid waste collection activity in the municipality of Sogamoso.
Analysis of the exploitation network, to define the shortest route that optimizes the resources involved in them. Presentation of a tool based on the final georeferencing of the network to the company that provides the public cleaning service for implementation according to the procedures adjusted to the standard for collection, transportation and use that guarantees sustainable development in the municipality.

This article examines an eighteenth-century French Jesuit’s translation of the final chapter of the early Qing collection of vernacular stories Doupeng xianhua 豆棚閒話 (Idle Talks under the Bean Arbor), which became a “philosophical dialogue” of a “modern atheist Chinese philosopher.” The trajectory of the text is examined by analyzing the layers of meaning superposed upon it by a succession of agencies: the original author Aina Jushi 艾衲居士, a Jiangnan literatus who philosophized on the fall of the Ming dynasty; Father François-Xavier Dentrecolles, the Jesuit missionary who translated the text with extensive commentaries of his own to make a case against atheism; the Parisian editor Jean-Baptiste Du Halde who published the translation in the landmark of Jesuit sinology, Description de l’Empire de la Chine et de la Tartarie chinoise (1735); the engravers in Paris and the Hague who remolded its cosmological diagrams to conform to their own scientific and aesthetic standards; and finally, its European re-translators and readers, some of whom used it as a weapon against the Jesuits and the Catholic Church. The gains and losses of the Doupeng xianhua during this process are discussed, as well as the new light brought by the French translation on its circulation in Qing China. Finally, the challenge this atypical case poses to received narratives of the Sino-Western cultural exchange through the Jesuit mission is assessed. Cet article examine la traduction au XVIIIe siècle, par un jésuite français, du dernier chapitre du recueil de contes vernaculaires Doupeng xianhua 豆棚閒話 (Propos oisifs sous la tonnelle des haricots), qui devient un « dialogue philosophique » d’un « philosophe chinois athée moderne ». Long regarded as an anomaly among his later works, Louis Sullivan's retail dry goods store for John D. Van Allen and Son of 1913-1915 in Clinton, Iowa, is one of his best documented buildings in surviving drawings and correspondence. Though related to his earlier Schlesinger and Mayer Store in Chicago, the Van Allen Building was Sullivan's only design for a regional adaptation of a metropolitan department store for a smaller city. Often criticized for the ornamental vertical mullions on its main elevation, the Van Allen store's exterior was carefully conceived with respect to its interior plan and its method of construction. Analysis of the design's development reveals that the mullions may have been Sullivan's architectural solution to interrelated questions of the visual rhythm of openings on both street fronts, the expression of the structural system that defined the store's main interior aisles, and the Van Allen Building's height and position in its urban context. The ornamental motifs on the mullions may suggest the relation between mercantile interests and regional agriculture which preoccupied the Van Allens as progressive businessmen who saw Sullivan's building as part of a larger vision for their city's urban development. In its symbolism the Van Allen store is thus related to Sullivan's banks of the same period. The response of Sullivan's design to the particular requirements of the commission makes the Van Allen Building an instructive example of his interest in architectural expression of a building's specific character as one facet of his theoretical ideal that "form follows function."

En los bosques montanos tropicales los briófitos son importantes en términos de diversidad y funcionamiento; allí, los briófitos que crecen sobre hojas son particularmente abundantes. El objetivo fue evaluar la riqueza y composición de comunidades epífilas en tres zonas del dosel de un árbol hospedador en el Parque Internacional La Amistad, Panamá. En cada árbol se colocaron seis hojas al azar, dos por zona de la copa (baja, media y alta). Se registró en total 48 especies, 89 % pertenecen a Marchantiophyta y 11 % a Bryophyta. La familia Lejeuneaceae representó el 70 % de las especies. La riqueza de especies disminuye desde la zona baja del dosel hacia la parte alta; sin embargo, las comunidades son similares entre zonas. Condiciones microclimáticas específicas del sotobosque podrían favorecer una mayor riqueza en la zona baja del dosel. Realizar investigaciones teniendo en cuenta factores ambientales y estructurales del bosque permitirá una mejor comprensión de estos cambios en diversidad.

Abarcan el 80% de las emergencias quirúrgicas. El diagnóstico de la apendicitis aguda ha sido tradicionalmente basado en los criterios clínicos.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">La mayoría de los niños con apendicitis aguda presentan rasgos clínicos típicos y pasan por cirugía inmediata. Sin embargo, del 30 – 45% tienen rasgos clínicos atípicos, y un pronto diagnóstico es difícil en base de los hallazgos clínicos solamente, ya que los niños no son capaces de expresar sus molestias adecuadamente y los exámenes físicos pueden no ser precisos retardando la cirugía y las consecuencias pueden ser por lo contrario perforación, abscesos y peritonitis.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Esto además del peligro para el paciente puede resultar en hospitalización prolongada y un aumento en el riesgo de infertilidad en las pacientes mujeres. Así los persistentes desafíos son para establecer el diagnóstico temprano de la apendicitis atípica, suficiente como para poder prevenir la perforación y sus consecuencias.</p>

The article deals with the problems of narratological organization of lyrics. There is some disproportion in the study of narratological features of works in relation to their genre and genus nature. Researchers often draw the attention of narratological strategy of epic works. The peculiarities of the organization of the narrative of lyrical works are among the least studied aspects of narratological discourse The practice of world poetry demonstrates that the sonnet has become an accu-mulative expression of feelings and an intense lyrical beginning. Combining sonnets into cycles leads to an increase in the role of narrative structures, narrative epics.Yurii Klen’s poetic cycle «Kolo zhyttove» as a multi-element lyrical system is characterized by the pulsation of narrative focalization, shifts in the narrator’s point of view and changes in the forms of the lyrical subject. The evolution of the forms of the lyrical subject can be conditionally represented in the following algorithm: from the subject (which is presented as another) to the removed narrator again to the subject, but which is not only «another», but also becomes a kind of container of the author’s voice and humanity in general.The lyrical autonomy of each individual sonnet is overcome by the epic cohesion of the cycle in order to create a generalized picture of all-encompassing and individual existence. Such a dual unity of the sonnet cycle in the artistic consciousness of Yurii Klen made it possible to quite naturally combine a multi-element lyrical system with various manifestations of narrative strategy. The result was a dynamic universal pro-jection on a separate and common being.The narrative strategy of the cycle emphasizes the leading motive of the work a per-son, once in the world, becomes an integral part of it. But he perceives the macrocosm as alien and hostile and does not feel her organic unity with it. A person is doomed to search for himself and his coordinates in the reality that surrounds him all his life. Целью является рассмотрение в контексте эстетики романтизма тип отражения образов Кавказа композиторами XIX века в Западной Европе без апелляции к «чужому слову» и использования этнических языковых элементов. Вводятся в научный обиход две фортепианные пьесы - «Черкесский марш» австрийского композитора Иоганна Штрауса (сына), «Черкесская песня» немецкого композитора Жана Вогта (Фогта) и пьеса Альфреда Лебо для фисгармонии (органа) «Черкесский марш». Использование контекстного подхода и музыковедческого инструментария анализа, позволяет выявить существенные черты музыкальной поэтики сочинений и прийти к выводу, что инонациональная образность передается западноевропейскими композиторами посредством условного обобщенно-поэтического воплощения темы Кавказа. Теоретическая значимость состоит в изучении творчества европейских композиторов, в том числе и «второго ряда», но весьма значимых для выявления отношения к адыгской (черкесской) теме в культуре Европы XIX в. и понимания специфики отражения этой темы в творчестве композиторов иных музыкальных культур. Практическая значимость - в возможности дополнения содержания дисциплин национально-регионального компонента образовательных программ вузов культуры и искусства. The goal is to consider, in the context of the romanticism aesthetics, the type of reflection of the images of the Caucasus by composers of the 19th century in Western Europe without an appeal to the "alien word" and the use of ethnic language elements. Two piano pieces "Circassian March" by the Austrian composer Johann Strauss (son), "Circassian Song" by the German composer Jean Vogt and the play by Alfred Lebeau for harmonium (organ) "Circassian March" are introduced into scientific use. The use of a context approach and musicological tools of analysis allows us to identify significant features of musical poetics of compositions. The author concludes that Western European composers convey foreign imagery through a conditional generalized poetic embodiment of the Caucasus theme. Theoretical significance lies in the study of the work of European composers, including the "second row", but very significant in identifying the attitude to the Adyghe (Circassian) topic in the culture of Europe of the 19th century and understanding the specifics of reflecting this topic in the work of composers of other musical cultures. Practical significance - in the possibility of supplementing the content of disciplines of the national-regional component of educational programs of universities of culture and art.

Los numerosos ataques e invasiones piratas y constantes incendios suscitados con mayor vehemencia durante los siglos XVII y XVIII no le permitieron a esta urbe guardar correctamente su registro de identidad y autonomía histórica por la constante destrucción de sus evidencias históricas y edificaciones de épocas pasadas.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Incluso en la actualidad, Guayaquil aqueja de este mal. Pues no se tiene un adecuado control por parte del Municipio de la ciudad, para la protección de bienes inmuebles que registran importancia histórica local. Edificaciones del siglo XVIII y XIX, en buenas condiciones, e incluso, albergues de memorias e identidad guayaquileñas, son a menudo destruidos, derribados, para dar paso a construcciones modernas, pero sin contenido de identidad absoluto.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Sectores e incluso barrios enteros, que en sus emplazamientos y terrenos tenían excelentes ejemplares de edificaciones, casas y residencias de arquitectura moderna y colonial, son constantemente “remodeladas”, “reconstruidas”, dañando por completo los conceptos bajos los cuales fueron concebidos muy idóneamente dentro de su tiempo. Y todas estas ‘reconstrucciones’ suceden con la venia y aprobación del municipio de la ciudad.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Es necesario e imperante la realización de una estudio y análisis de las diferentes edificaciones y sectores que son portadores de la riqueza arquitectónica y de la identidad guayaquileña, para elaborar un documento de rescate patrimonial para presentar como propuesta al M.I. Las impresiones de los primeros viajeros que recorrieron la caverna, el estado de los caminos; los cambios políticos; la inquietud de formar asociaciones científicas y literarias; la preocupación por la conservación del medioambiente; el desarrollo de las inversiones en infraestructura; las primeras instalaciones de luz eléctrica y, finalmente, la trasformación de Cacahuamilpa en Parque Nacional en 1936, son algunos de los temas abordados en este trabajo. <p style="text-align: justify;">El Biofeedback a través del manejo de la temperatura periférica y la Escritura Emocional Autoreflexiva con Solución Propuesta (EEASP) son técnicas psicoterapéuticas que dan respuesta a las discusiones éticas jurídicas sobre la confidencialidad. El objetivo de la investigación fue conocer si existen diferencias en la temperatura periférica. La muestra fue de 42 adultos con un promedio de edad de 32.9 años, siendo 32 hombres y 10 mujeres, 16 fueron estudiantes y 26 trabajadores, quienes reportaron estar sometidos a niveles elevados de estrés. Los resultados mostraron un aumento estadísticamente significativo (t = 6.35, <em>p </em>= 0.001) del promedio de la temperatura (89.68 °F). Los resultados confirman que el Biofeedback y la EEASP son técnicas que tienen un impacto positivo sobre los procesos psicofisiológicos de los participantes y que pueden ser usadas sin violar la confidencialidad así como exonerar de responsabilidades legales.</p><p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Palabras clave: </strong>escritura emocional autoreflexiva, Biofeedback, confidencialidad, responsabilidad legal, psicología jurídica.</p>

SUMMARY Although verbs in Semitic routinely take a single pronominal Object-suffix, only Arabic, Ethiopic, and Akkadian allow (rarely) two cooccurrent Obj-suf-fixes (he.gives-me-it). This paper examines the rare Semitic double Obj-suffix phenomenon in its larger Afroasiatic context, comparing it to the double Obj-clitic constructions found in Egyptian, Berber, and Hausa. Significant commonalities exist. In all these languages the ordering of morphemes is V-IObj-DObj; in most, the IObj marker is 'heavy', i.e., composed of a language-specific augment adjoined to a common, near-reconstructible pronominal core; and the heavy IObj occurs closer to the V than does the light DObj. This is demonstrably idiosyncratic behavior. A global typological survey reveals that V-IObj-DObj is not a particularly favored order universally, and that heavy-before-light ordering is quite unusual. Further, the Afroasiatic V-IObj-DObj order is empirically shown to be characteristic of the oldest attested strata of the various languages, hence an archaism. These factors make independent parallel development maximally unlikely, and argue for reconstructing a double Object-clitic construction to (pre-)Proto-Semitic. RÉSUMÉ Bien que le verbe admette couramment un seul suffixe-objet dans les langues sémitiques, on ne trouve simultanément (à titre de rareté) deux suffixes-objet qu'en arabe, en éthiopien, et en akkadien (ex.: il.donne-me-le). ZUSAMMENFASSUNG Obschon Verben mit einem Objektsuffix im Semitischen als Normalfall gelten, können im Arabischen, Àthiopischen, und Akkadischen, wenngleich selten, zwei Objektsuffixe gleichzeitig auftreten (er.gibt-mir-es). In diesem Auf-satz wird dieses ungewöhnliche semitische Phänomen von Doppelsuffixen in einem breiteren afroasiatischen Zusammenhang betrachtet und mit den Dop-pelklitikkonstruktionen des Àgyptischen, Berberischen, und Hausa verglichen. Dabei zeigen sich Ûbereinstimmungen in wesentlichen Punkten. In alien ge-nannten Sprachen gilt die Morphemreihenfolge V-IObj-DObj; in den meisten ist der IObj-Markierer 'schwer', insofern als er aus einem für die jeweilige Ein-zelsprache spezifischen Augment und einem alien Sprachen gemeinsamen, meist rekonstruierbaren pronominalen Kern besteht; das 'schwere' IObj steht näher am Verbstamm als das 'leichte' DObj. Dieses Verhalten läßt sich als eigenartig nachweisen, denn eine global-typologische Untersuchung hat ge-zeigt, da6 in den Sprachen der Welt die Reihenfolge V-IObj-DObj nicht die be-vorzugte und da8 die Reihenfolge V-Schwer-Leicht sogar äußerst selten ist. Zudem ist, wie im Aufsatz dargelegt, die afroasiatische Reihenfolge V-IObj-DObj ausgerechnet in den ältesten jeweiligen Sprachstufen zu finden: somit ein Archaismus. All diese Faktoren lassen eine unabhängige Parallelentwicklung unwahrscheinlich erscheinen, sie bilden vielmehr Argumente fur die Annahme von einer Doppelklitikkonstruktion im (Prä-)Protosemitischen.

This article presents the problems of military operations in the context of the local culture, which is of essential importance to the conducted military actions. Despite the globalisation process, which, as it seems, blurs cultural diperences, these diperences still exist, and in many cases they even get deeper. vis complex situation is also combined with conuicting interests of various state and non- -state entities and social groups. A part of this image of the reality is the phenomenon of war, present from the beginning of the human civilisation. It should be noted that cultural diperences are among the major causes of wars. Only for such a reason, the area of military operation becomes culturally alien at least for one of the parties to the conuict. We should also consider the operations conducted by international forces in diperent parts of the world, where oqen a multicultural military contingent operates in a culturally alien environment. vese are particularly complex issues, which cannot be entirely explained, hence the scientitc discussion presented below is merely an attempt to diagnose the most important problems without identifying specitc solutions. Attention was paid to cultural factors apecting the sources of conuict and their developments and the cultural shape of the environment of military operations. Among the global phenomena, which determine the course of the future armed conuicts, the cultural transformation of society and the related tensions, global culture of trade, migration, mass communication and information technologies as well as the revival of religion and nationalism are mentioned. We should also bear in mind the local conditions, which include social, political, governance, assessment and evaluation, communicational and organisational aspects as well as the aspects of acceptance of autonomy by the parties to the conuict.

The 15 October 2003 presidential election went down in the history of Azerbaijan as a turning point for three reasons. First, it provided a legitimacy for the transfer of power from ailing President Heydar Aliev to his son Ilham. Second, it demonstrated the unwillingness of the so-called “international community” to risk jeopardizing geostrategic and economic interests by unequivocally condemning blatant falsification of the ballot. And, third, by failing to condemn falsification of the ballot, the international community has signaled to other entrenched Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) leaders that they have little to lose by following the Azeri example. However, the developments one month later in Georgia evidently worried them that the popular protests that forced President Shevardnadze from power could have adverse repercussions for incumbent leaders across the region.

<p align="justify">Esta investigación se enfoca en la caracterización de la conducta adaptativa en escolares con y sin discapacidad intelectual de la Región de La Araucanía, Chile. Se utilizó el Inventario para la Planificación de Servicios y Programación Individual (ICAP), aplicado a padres y/o tutores legales de 22 niños con discapacidad intelectual y 33 niños sin discapacidad. Las edades fluctuaron entre los 6 y 12 años, con un diseño no probabilístico en conglomerados. El método utilizado es descriptivo-comparativo. Los resultados señalan que existen diferencias de las conductas adaptativas, donde los escolares sin discapacidad presentan un mayor nivel de desarrollo, además ambos grupos poseen un perfil heterogéneo en las destrezas que componen el funcionamiento adaptativo, donde las destrezas motoras son las más altas, mientras que las destrezas de la vida en comunidad son las más bajas. Se concluye que las diferencias encontradas se ven afectadas por la presencia de discapacidad intelectual y por el contexto educativo. Esta investigación se enmarca en el proyecto de investigación DI12-0077 denominado Propiedades psicométricas de la versión española del Inventario para la planificación de servicios y la programación individual (ICAP), en escolares de la ciudad de Temuco.</p>

<p align="LEFT"> </p><p><strong><span style="color: #221e1f; font-size: xx-small;"><span style="color: #221e1f; font-size: xx-small;">El programa federal Pensión para Adultos Mayores se analiza en dos comunidades rurales del municipio de Texcoco, Estado de México: Santa María Tecuanulco y San Jerónimo Amanalco. Se indaga sobre el adulto mayor (AM), su condición física, social y económica, y se identifica la problemática del programa, sus causas y consecuencias. Los principales problemas del AM son que no cuenta con pensión y su incapacidad de conseguir ingresos suficientes para tener una vida digna, expresada en bajos ingresos y deterioro de su salud. Estos factores se manifiestan en un limitado ejercicio de sus derechos sociales, dependencia económica y funcional de terceros, y una baja autoestima (depresión). La investigación utiliza el método mixto: cualitativo y cuantitativo; se aplican técnicas de investigación social, observación y observación participativa; la información se obtuvo a través de un cuestionario con 58 preguntas, entrevistando a 78 AM. Los resultados muestran que el programa federal proporciona un ingreso para mejorar su calidad de vida, pero no cumple con necesidades y expectativas del AM. La falta de documentos solicitados para ser considerado parte del programa es fecuente; la mayoría no tiene acta de nacimiento, el programa los rechaza sin ofrecer otra alternativa y no son incorporados, hay poca empatía al atender a esta población.</span></span></strong></p>

Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica con el objetivo actualizar algunas técnicas alternativas al formocresol en las pulpotomías de dientes temporales. Las técnicas con glutaraldehido, sulfato férrico y MTA son, la que los estudiosos proponen como alternativas al formocresol en las pulpotomías de dientes temporales.</p>

The term biosphere designates the “zone of life” on Earth. Outside this sphere, everything becomes “alien.” In this view of things, which I take to be canonical in the modern West, terrestrial life and biosphere overlap more or less neatly. Yet this idea of an almost perfect convergence is not the only view possible. This study presents two anthropological cases which demonstrate, a contrario, that the modern tendency to envisage the biosphere as “our home environment” or as “our familiar world” is in many ways a historical accident. Other ecumenical possibilities (by which I refer to the ancient Greek notion of the “inhabited world,” the oikumene) are by no means unthinkable. Examining the ecumenical originality of two communities that at first sight seem unrelated – Chachi indigenous people in Ecuador and scientists involved in the search for extraterrestrial life – will allow us to cast new light on the metaphysical underpinnings of the modern biosphere concept.
