Over the years, many of my students have reported that they enjoy lectures that include short, simple animations. To keep students engaged, I have developed a small set of teaching animations using PowerPoint and Camtasia Studio software packages. A survey of students who learned four difficult topics with traditional written lessons and with these animations revealed that 80% of the students say that they learn better when animations are included. With such a majority reporting that cartoons engage them in learning, I wanted to share my simple method of creating them with the teaching community.

Abstract:
Data transmitted to the base station from the sensor node by selecting an optimal cluster head is a massive challenge subjected to the routing protocol, in the case of the wireless sensor network. An energy efficient clustering method, depending on the Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm and the Fractional Artificial Bee Colony (FABC) algorithm, has a propensity to maximize the energy of the network and life time of nodes by the optimal cluster head selection (CHS). When conveying data, an ABC-Dynamic Scout bee algorithm is presented that multiplies the scout bee production to enlarge the number of alive nodes and the of CH energy. An assessment among the performances of the implemented ABC-based Dynamic Scout bee algorithm routing mechanism in opposition to that of ABC-based CHS and FABC-based CHS routing is done. The experimental outcome demonstrates that the implemented method increases the quantity of alive nodes with 25% of maximum energy for the normalized network compared with conventional protocols.

Abstract:
The pre- Islamic era is a term which is used in Arabic poetry as well as in Islamic history among the literati and historians. It is defined as the period of time before the rising and spreading of Islam in the desert of Arab. It is also called Ignorance era, because they were not only illiterate from Islamic laws and rules but also void souls from virtuous values. They buried their daughters alive, made erroneous notations and quarreled for centuries, eulogized bloodshed and wars etc. Among them bore a great poet Zuhair bin abi Salma (520- 611) and tried to change their lives by his noble poetry. He praised Hiram bin Sanan, the popular person and leader of his tribes by his famous eulogy for his good moral activates. He played a tremendous role for the pace of his tribe. This article is denoted the ethical and moral virtues in the poetry of Zuhair bin abi Salma in the pre- Islamic era. It is also describes the effort of Zuhair for the peace and morality of his tribe.

Abstract:
165 Background: This phase 4, multicenter, single-arm, open-label study evaluated the efficacy and safety of ENZA in patients (pts) with progressing mCRPC previously treated with Abi. Methods: All pts maintained castration therapy with luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone for the duration of the trial or had a bilateral orchiectomy. Pts were required to have progressive disease at study entry and ≥ 24 weeks of Abi treatment prior to receiving 160 mg/day ENZA. Prior chemotherapy was allowed. The primary end point was radiographic progression-free survival (rPFS). The secondary end points were overall survival (OS), prostate-specific antigen (PSA) response, and time to PSA progression. Safety was also assessed. Results: A total of215 pts were enrolled; 214 were treated with ENZA (median age, 73 years). The analysis was performed on data up to 48 weeks after the last pt started ENZA treatment. Median duration of prior Abi therapy was 54 weeks. The median duration of ENZA treatment was 5.7 months: 12 months in PSA responders and 4.6 months in non-PSA responders. 16% of pts received treatment for ≥ 1 year. The most common reason for treatment discontinuation was disease progression (65%). Median rPFS was 8.1 months (95% CI 6.1, 8.3). Median OS was not reached in the overall population and 75% of pts were alive 1 year after treatment initiation. PSA response (confirmed or unconfirmed) rate was 26.5% (48/181). The median time to PSA progression was 5.7 months (95% CI 5.6, 5.8). The overall objective response rate in pts with measurable disease at study entry was 12%. The most common treatment emergent adverse events (TEAEs) were fatigue (32%), decreased appetite (25%), asthenia (18%), back pain (17%), and arthralgia (16%). ENZA was primarily discontinued due to TEAEs in 8% of pts. No seizures were reported. Conclusions: In this study, ENZA remained active in pts with mCRPC previously treated with Abi. Median rPFS in pts with prior chemotherapy was consistent with previously reported data of ENZA in pts with mCRPC and prior chemotherapy/Abi therapy.Reported TEAEs were consistent with the known safety profile of ENZA. Clinical trial information: NCT02116582.

‘Why buy all those?!’ a street vendor in Cairo asked as I picked out photographs of young singing stars he had for sale. ‘Take more of these,’ he suggested, proffering stills from the 1950s films of Abd al-Ḥalīm Hāfiẓ and photos of Muhammad Abd al-Wahhāb and Umm Kulthūm. ‘Those were really good days … the old singers were really good singers. There's nothing like that now. Umm Kulthūm, Abd al-Ḥalīm, they're all gone and the rest are kalām fāḍī [literally ‘empty talk’, indicating something nonsensical or of little value].’ The vendor's opinions resonate among Egyptians. When asked about music in Egypt now, listeners frequently respond by saying: ‘There are no good voices these days’; ‘The singers are all alike – you can't tell them apart’; ‘After Umm Kulthūm, Abd al-Ḥalīm, Farīd and Abd al-Wahhāb died, there was no one’.

Abstract:
Terrariums have decorated the shelves and counters of biology offices and classrooms for centuries. Living organisms inspire students and teachers alike. These wonderful ecosystems allow for both experimentation and observation of living systems. Here, I outline a new approach to building classroom terrariums. Historically, terrariums have been made using rocks, gravel, soil, wood, leaves, and organic props. This process often creates an immovable terrarium that weighs several hundred pounds. Although this approach will continue to produce beautiful terrariums, new technology has given us the opportunity to create more intricate terrariums that are a fraction of the weight and, therefore, mobile. The step-by-step protocol given here will allow biology professionals with little experience building terrariums an opportunity to explore this rewarding practice.

This paper aims to demonstrate that while marketing and sustainability might seem to be as different as "A Polar Bear and A Bengal Tiger", there is growing evidence that the two disciplines have something to offer each other and the universe. With a view toward gaining this synergy, this research proposes that a lasting sustainability marketing as an academic discipline and managerial practice must aim deliberately and thoroughly to reassure itself as an outstanding potential for a marketing revolution and distance itself away from the danger of ending up as a quick-shot research fad. Conclusively, a sustainability marketing revolution can be sparkled and kept alive and a sustainability marketing research fad can be avoided and reversed through a number of highly recommended visible venues of marketing research and managerial pursuits.

Bioinformatics, the study of biological data using various computational techniques, is a very important aspect of biology, and its integration would greatly benefit current high school curricula. However, because most bioinformatics tools have not been readily accessible until recently, most high school instructors were not exposed to them during their formative years. We describe a bioinformatics-based module that introduces the application of genome comparison in the identification of “pathogenic islands.” The module also introduces foundational concepts of horizontal gene transfer and the genetic basis of virulence, with a special focus on antibiotic resistance – a theme teachers and students alike can easily connect and relate to. The module takes students on a journey: from conceptualizing the perfect pathogen, to an immersive experience of being a pathogen, and finally the experience of being a research scientist identifying drug-resistant genes and other virulence factors using the bioinformatics tool of genome comparison.

Abstract:
Introduction: Concussion is a common emergency department (ED) presentation. Most patients improve with expectant management. A subset with risk factors for post-concussion syndrome (PCS) may require closer outpatient follow-up. A novel emergency department (ED)/head injury clinic (HIC) triaging system has been created to allow concussed patients rapid access to educational information and specialized consultant services. This system has been well received by patients and physicians alike; however, objective measures are needed to determine if this system ultimately decreases excessive healthcare utilization (HCU) and improves symptom management of PCS. Methods: Single centered prospective observational study. Control population of 42 mTBI patients referred to the HIC through the Ontario Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Network within 3-12 months of injury. These patients have received little concussion education or treatment and will be compared to 50 concussion patients seen in the ED and HIC. Rivermead scores, a validated likert scale of PCS symptoms (1-4, maximum score of 64) and HCU (patient reported number of healthcare visits post injury) will be collected on their initial clinic visit and subsequent follow up phone interview. Results: Control ABI network patients were 50% male, mean age 40 yrs (18-90, ± 16.3) while 83% (35/42) reported >1 subsequent visit to ED or family physician and 39% (16/42) visited neurologist. Mean Rivermead Score was 32.6 (7-58, ± 12). Conclusion: A significant proportion of control patients utilized multiple healthcare resources and were still symptomatic 3-6 months following injury. Data collection is currently ongoing to determine if rapid outpatient follow-up and education decreases HCU and PCS symptoms.

Abstract:
This article introduces the special issue of the journal on France as a Laboratory of Culture. It asks whether France continues to foster creativity and innovation in the cultural realm. Six articles examine case studies, including the role of women in the making of modern Paris, France’s role in world cinema through international co-production, French conceptions of world literature, recent fictional works by Alice Zeniter and Bessora, the rapper Abd al Malik as a complex example of hybrid music, and the state-funded project to create ÉcoQuartiers, or green neighbourhoods. These examples provide challenges to the way things are, whether in changing behaviours, tastes, perceptions or understandings, and demonstrate convincingly that France remains a vibrant laboratory of culture in the modern world.

Abstract:
Energy efficiency is a major concern in Internet of Things (IoT) networks as the IoT devices are battery operated devices. One of the traditional approaches to improve the energy efficiency is through clustering. The authors propose a hybrid method of Gravitational Search Algorithm (GSA) and Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm to accomplish the efficient cluster head selection. The performance of the hybrid algorithm is evaluated using energy, delay, load, distance, and temperature of the IoT devices. Performance of the proposed method is analyzed by comparing with the conventional methods like Artificial Bee Colony (ABC), Genetic Algorithm (GA), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and GSO algorithms. The performance of the hybrid algorithm is evaluated using of number of alive nodes, convergence estimation, normalized energy, load and temperature. The proposed algorithm exhibits high energy efficiency that improves the life time of IoT nodes. Analysis of the authors' implementation reveals the superior performance of the proposed method.

Abstract:
AbstractBackgroundAlthough spirituality has been identified as a psychological resource relevant to coping with caregiving stress, little is known about the differential roles of spirituality’s facets in bereaved caregivers’ adjustment.PurposeThis study examined this question with regard to bereavement-specific and general distress in cancer caregivers.MethodsCancer caregivers provided data at 2 years after their relative’s diagnosis when all the patients were alive (Time 1, preloss) and 3 years later, after the patient had died (Time 2, postloss: N = 128). Demographics and three facets of spirituality (meaning, peace, and faith) were measured at Time 1. Psychological distress and time since the death were measured at Time 2.ResultsYounger age, less education, and being a spousal caregiver of the patient related to greater bereavement-specific and general distress (ts ≥ 2.02, ps < .05, partial η2 ≥ .15). Above and beyond these demographic factors, two preloss spirituality facets related to postloss distress. Specifically, a greater sense of inner peace at preloss was prospectively associated with less bereavement-specific distress (both intrusive thoughts and hyperarousal, ts ≥ 2.24, ps < .05, partial η2 ≥ .41). Greater reliance on faith at preloss was also prospectively associated with lower intrusive thoughts (t = 2.24, p < .05, partial η2 = .34).ConclusionFindings highlight the importance of preloss sense of peace as a predictor of psychological distress during bereavement. Programs and interventions might be designed to help caregivers find inner peace while caregiving, in an effort to augment their resiliency against psychological distress when facing the loss of the patient.

Abstract:
The evolution of NIgerian State is shrouded in cultural complexities that are built on linquistc variations and ethno-religious discontents. Asa a product of the British imperialism, the 1914 amaglmation of the northern and southern protectorates saw the emergence of what became an independent NigerianState on October 1, 1960. Thus, the activities of these imperialists led to the birth of Nigeria's naionalism which was couched in ethnic nationalism rather than true pan Nigerianism. This ethnocentrism has advertently deepened Nigeria's problems and led to the evolution of several regime system that manifested into resource control, independent movement and ethnic militants. Scholars and policy-makers alike, have over the last two decades tried several workable political system without actually arriving at any possible solution thereby stoking the flame of ethnic based crises that fraught Nigerian sovereignty. Against this background, the proclamation of the Sovereign State of Biafra was celebrated with attended war that followed therein. Therefore, it is understood that the aftermath of the war still linger and gave birth to Indigenous People of Biafra. While it could be said that the bulk of Nigerian resources are committed to finding solution to the existing political structures, it is obvious that the weighter problems arising from corruption, prebendalism and lack of true federalism that resulted to the evolution of ethnic millitias are still neglected. Therefore, the study identifies corruption, favouritism and nepotism as the majorproblems of ethnic politics in Nigeria while applying thematic, and historical analytical method as a method of analysis

Abstract:
Failure of leadership and inefficient utilisation of human capital have continued to agitate the minds of researchers and managers alike in Nigeria. Therefore, this paper evaluated the relationship between leadership development and human capital condition of non-metallic product manufacturing firms registered with Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) in South East, Nigeria. A survey research design was used for the study. A sample size of 310 was utilized and drawn from a population of 2862 personnel. Data collected were presented in tables and were further analysed using mean scores and standard deviation, and the hypotheses were tested using the F-statistic. Three major findings were made, namely: that there was significant positive relationship between leadership skills and employee output at work of non-metallic product manufacturing firms in South East, Nigeria [ F(4,20 = 13.07771), p < 0.05]; there was significant positive relationship between managers’ level of education and operational cost of non-metallic product manufacturing firms in South East, Nigeria [ F(4,20 = 19.89737), p < 0.05] and that there was a significant positive relationship between leadership training and team building and or cohesion among staff of non-metallic product manufacturing firms in South East, Nigeria [ F(4,20 = 15.98143), p < 0.05,5]. Hence, it was concluded that there was positive relationship between leadership development and human capital condition of non-metallic product manufacturing firms in South-East, Nigeria. It was therefore recommended that management of non-metallic manufacturing firms in South-East, Nigeria, should install and implement regular staff training and retraining programmes, coupled with robust staff welfare/reward packages, which motivate them for optimum productivity.

Abstract:
On the materials of primary zootechnical recording in the herds of Grey Ukrainian (SE EF “Polyvanivka” of the Institute of Сereal Сrops of NAAS, 105 culled and 263 alive animals, and SE EF “Askania-Nova” of M.F.Ivanov Institute of Animal Breeding of Steppe Regions, 70 culled animals), and in the herd of Whiteheaded Ukrainian (“Podilskiy Gospodar” Ltd., 346 culled and 22 alive animals) one investigated longevity and reproductive ability of two cattle autochthonous breeds of Ukraine. Analysis of Whiteheaded Ukrainian cows’ culling data on 2013 (22 animals) testifies the designing of work on production increasing in herd, rather not high (20,5%) repair intensity (owing to lasting use of full-aged cows) and main herd animals’ successful health state. Besides it, main herd animals’ database analysis testifies long-living cows availability with their satisfactory reproductive ability at the age of 10–15 years old. To have higher conclusions’ reliability on population data one did longevity and reproductive ability data analysis of culled 346 Whiteheaded Ukrainian cows, which were born during 1978–1995. Analysis of productive longevity of investigated cows testified, that in the herd cows with the productive longevity in 1–5 lactations dominated (74,6%). Only 25 cows (7,2%) had 1 calving. The largest number of cows (70 animals) in the herd had 4 calvings. Because of twins (5,2% of the whole sample), the largest number of calves in a litter of one animal was 14 heads with equal distribution on sex. One calf for the whole lifetime had only 19 (5,5%) animals, while by 5–14 calves for the life were obtained from almost 40% of sample (138 heads). Unfortunately, in the herd there were cases of still-birth or abortions in litter of some animals. Such sad occasions comprise almost 15% of analysed sample. Investigation of genealogical affiliation of such cases revealed a bit higher number of abortions (2 out of 15 sample cases) and still-births (5 out of 45 in the sample) in the litter of bull Chas 59. But, one should take into account more intensive use of this bull at the cows of the herd. However, one should admit, that the majority (75%) of used in the herd bulls had no still-birth or abortion with different matches. Particularly, Okun 217 bull, though was used rather widely in the herd, had no still-births or abortions in the litter of its matches. Database analysis of culled cows of SE EF «Polyvanivka» testified, that out of 105 cows, 19 (18,1%) for lifetime had 10 and more (to 13) calves, 60 (57%) – 5–9 calves. Abortions and stillbirths were found only in young animals’ litter. Particularly, 10 heifers (9,5%) had stillbirths, and cows of the second calvings – 2 abortions. Amongst the animals of the third and elder calvings there were found no abortions and stillbirths. Amongst included into investigation cows of Grey Ukrainian breed of breeding plant «Markeevo» more, than half (64,3%) had 5 and more calvings. Cows with productive longevity 7–14 calvings makes up 52,9% of all investigated cows of the plant. All herd cows are characterized with easy (not lower 5,0 on beef cattle estimation scale) calvings. Comparative analysis of longevity of investigated authohtonous and Holstein or created at its base commercial breeds at the base of unpublished own research on breeding plant “Bortnychi” data and literature data reveals noticeably longer productive longevity of Whiteheaded Ukrainian and Grey Ukrainian cattle. Our investigations in the herds of Grey Ukrainian of breeding plant «Markeevo» showed, that average number of lifetime calvings was 6,45, of breeding plant «Polyvanivka» – 6,50, in the herd of Whiteheaded Ukrainian of «Podilskiy Gospodar» Ltd. – 4,49, that significantly exceeds the longevity of modern commercial breeds.

Abstract:
Abstract Abstract 1698 Background: Many clinical and biological features are commonly used in order to predict the probability of response to standard treatment in adult acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). Although cytogenetic analysis provides the major information for prognosis, many molecular alterations like FLT3/ITD, mutations of NPM1, mutations of CEBPα, or BAALC over expression have been described these last years, in order to guide therapeutic choices, especially in patients with normal karyotype. In the other hand, prognostic implications of ABC proteins' expression and functionality, like ABCB1 (Pgp) and others, have been known for years but relationships between ABC proteins and those molecular markers haven't been fully studied. Material and methods: In this retrospective study, we explore the relationships between ABC proteins and these molecular markers, and evaluate whether ABC proteins' activity is an independent prognosis factor in 206 AML, homogenously treated in EORTC protocols. ABC proteins' activity has been assessed with JC1 functional test performed at the time of diagnosis, and all patients were screened from frozen bone marrow or peripheral blood samples for FLT3/ITD, NPM1 mutations, CEBPα mutations, and expression of BAALC. 206 patients aged from 16 to 81 years and treated either in EORTC AML 10, AML 12 or AML 13 from 1996 to 2008 have been included, with a median follow up time for alive patients of five years. Results: In the whole population, 42 patients (20%) showed a high ABC functional assay (JC1+). High ABC activity was associated with NPM1 wild type (p=0.03) and higher BAALC expression (p=0.007). FLT3-ITD was detected in only 2 patients with high ABC functional assay. There was no relationship between high ABC functionality and CEBPα mutational status. In multivariate analysis including age, leukocyte count, cytogenetic, existence of a pre leukemic phase, NPM1, FLT3/ITD, CEBPα and BAALC status and JC1 assay, high ABC proteins' activity was an independent prognosis factor for OS in the whole population (p=0.03). Others independent prognosis factors for OS were age (p=0.0004), cytogenetic (p=0,045), FLT3/ITD (p=0.0096), and NPM1 mutation (p= 0.07). When interesting to normal cytogenetic population (112 patients), high ABC proteins' activity was an independent prognosis factor for DFS (p=0.0107) and OS (p=0.0038). Age (p=0.0012), and FLT3/ITD (p=0.0173) were the only other prognosis factors for OS. In patients with normal cytogenetic, and both NPM1 WT and no FLT3/ITD, only age (p=0.0008) and high ABC proteins' activity (p=0.004) were independent prognosis factors for OS. Conclusion: ABC proteins' activity remains an independent prognosis factor in adult AML, when compared to these molecular factors. Because of its relatively high frequency (around 20 % of patients), and the easiness to perform this test, we think JC1 probe should be used in every AML patients in order to refine the treatment strategy at the time of diagnosis. Disclosures: No relevant conflicts of interest to declare.

Abstract:
During their lifetime, plants encounter numerous biotic and abiotic stresses with diverse modes of attack. Phytohormones, including salicylic acid (SA), ethylene (ET), jasmonate (JA), abscisic acid (ABA), auxin (AUX), brassinosteroid (BR), gibberellic acid (GA), cytokinin (CK) and the recently identified strigolactones (SLs), orchestrate effective defense responses by activating defense gene expression. Genetic analysis of the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana has advanced our understanding of the function of these hormones. The SA- and ET/JA-mediated signaling pathways were thought to be the backbone of plant immune responses against biotic invaders, whereas ABA, auxin, BR, GA, CK and SL were considered to be involved in the plant immune response through modulating the SA-ET/JA signaling pathways. In general, the SA-mediated defense response plays a central role in local and systemic-acquired resistance (SAR) against biotrophic pathogens, such as Pseudomonas syringae, which colonize between the host cells by producing nutrient-absorbing structures while keeping the host alive. The ET/JA-mediated response contributes to the defense against necrotrophic pathogens, such as Botrytis cinerea, which invade and kill hosts to extract their nutrients. Increasing evidence indicates that the SA- and ET/JA-mediated defense response pathways are mutually antagonistic.

Abstract:
Carotenoids are natural isoprenoid pigments that provide leaves, fruits, vegetables and flowers with distinctive yellow, orange and some reddish colours as well as several aromas in plants. Their bright colours serve as attractants for pollination and seed dispersal. Carotenoids comprise a large family of C40 polyenes and are synthesised by all photosynthetic organisms, aphids, some bacteria and fungi alike. In animals carotenoid derivatives promote health, improve sexual behaviour and are essential for reproduction. As such, carotenoids are commercially important in agriculture, food, health and the cosmetic industries. In plants, carotenoids are essential components required for photosynthesis, photoprotection and the production of carotenoid-derived phytohormones, including ABA and strigolactone. The carotenoid biosynthetic pathway has been extensively studied in a range of organisms providing an almost complete pathway for carotenogenesis. A new wave in carotenoid biology has revealed implications for epigenetic and metabolic feedback control of carotenogenesis. Developmental and environmental signals can regulate carotenoid gene expression thereby affecting carotenoid accumulation. This review highlights mechanisms controlling (1) the first committed step in phytoene biosynthesis, (2) flux through the branch to synthesis of α- and β-carotenes and (3) metabolic feedback signalling within and between the carotenoid, MEP and ABA pathways.

Abstract:
Abstract Background: There were few reports regarding the incidence of the acquired nasolacrimal duct obstruction, and the incidence in different geography or countries might be alike. Since the nasolacrimal drainage system obstruction is a common problem in Thailand, knowledge of the incidence may disclose the burden of the disease that has never been reported. Objectives: Evaluate the incidence of acquired lacrimal drainage system obstruction (ALDO) in Thailand. Methods: This study was conducted in multi-centers. It was based on prospective and descriptive design. All patients with epiphoric symptoms visiting the outpatient departments of five tertiary eyecare centers were recruited between 2004 and 2007. Features of epiphoric symptoms and medical history were recorded, and complete ophthalmic examinations were performed. Results: Epiphoric patients were enrolled from all medical centers with 245 eligible patients, female:male ratio was 4.2:1. Ninety-nine patients (40%) had duration of epiphoric symptoms between one-five years. ALDO was found in 111 patients (45%) with female preponderance (6.9:1). Seventy-one patients (64%) had pre-sac obstruction and 40 patients (36%) had post-sac obstruction. Among other causes of epiphora, dry eye was the most common. Conclusion: The most common cause of epiphora was ALDO. The four-year incidence rate of ALDO among epiphoric patients was 45%.

<b>Abstract:</b> The problem of garbage is the issue of how human beings understand and bring alive the concept of himself or herself. Islam as a Gospel of Action has a certain perspective about human beings and the environment. Human beings, as written in some letters and hadith, are the most perfect part of God’s creation (kāmil) to whom two status are attributed, namely servant of God and Caliph. As servant of God and as Caliph, human beings are God’s chosen creation who are entrusted to take care of the universe. If so, then the problem of garbage which arises from the brutality of humans is a provocation attacking the status of human beings as the servant of God and Caliph. <b>Keywords:</b> Garbage, Islam, God, the servant of God, Caliph, human beings. <b>Kata-kata kunci:</b> sampah, Islam, Allah, abdi Allah, Khalifah, lingkungan hidup, manusia.

Abstract:
Abstract Background: Typical and atypical bronchial carcinoids (TBC and ABC) display a wide range of clinical presentations and may behave very differently. Survival prognostic markers are necessary to better define therapeutic strategies. AIM: verify that the NEP-Score, recently proposed as prognostic score, can be applied in a homogeneous TBC and ABC cohort and identify a derivate prognostic marker taking into account clinical and pathological characteristics at diagnosis. Methods: Age, site of primary tumor, primary tumor surgery, symptoms, Ki67, timing of metastases of 64 patients including TBC and ABC were evaluated to calculate the NEP-Score at the end of follow-up (NEP-T). We then assessed a derivative score considering the NEP-Score at diagnosis (NEP-D): this score does not consider the appearance of new metastases during follow-up. We then considered the patients that were alive or dead at the end of follow-up (EOF). A NEP-Score threshold to predict survival was investigated. Results: live patients at EOF displayed a mean NEP-T and mean NEP-D significantly lower as compared to those that were dead. A NEP-T threshold &gt;138 significantly predicts survival. ABC relapsed more frequently as compared to TBC. Male gender as well as previous malignancy were negative prognostic factors for survival. Conclusions: We found that NEP-Score is applicable to a series of bronchial neuroendocrine neoplasms. In addition, we propose NEP-D as a simple, quick and cheap prognostic score that can help clinicians in decision making. Moreover, the use of a NEP-D threshold can predict NEN aggressiveness and may be used to define the best personalized therapeutic strategy. Furthermore we found additional prognostic factors that together with the NEP-Score could improve prognosis evaluation at diagnosis by using easily accessible information.

Abstract:
To investigate culling patterns during the breeding cycle and lifetime production associated with culling reasons, 19,471 culling records were collected in southwest China. Lifetime pigs born alive (LPBA) and parity for culling reasons, and reason distribution at different parities and breeding cycle were analyzed. Sows culled for stress and death (SD), lameness (LA), common disease (CD), not being pregnant, return to estrus, and abortion (NP) had fewer than 20 LPBA (p < 0.05). Gilts were mainly culled for anestrus beyond nine months (AB9), CD, and LA, while weaned sows were culled for reproductive system disease (RS), CD, and anestrus beyond seven days (p < 0.0033). Gestating sows were mainly culled for NP, CD, and SD, while lactating sows were mainly culled for low or no milk production (NM), poor litter size, and CD (p < 0.0033). Moreover, sows were mainly culled at parity 0, 1, and 2 (p < 0.0024). Besides CD and RS, LA and NP were the primary reasons for parity 1 and 2 culls, respectively. In conclusion, SD, LA, CD, and NP sharply decrease sow lifetime production. AB9, RS, NP, and NM mainly occurred in gilts, weaned, gestating, and lactating sows, respectively. Low parity sows had a higher risk of CD, RS, LA, and NP.

Abstract:
Rapid ʻōhiʻa death (ROD) is caused by two recently described species of Ceratocystis, C. lukuohia and C. huliohia. These fungi are decimating ʻōhiʻa lehua (Metrosideros polymorpha), the keystone native tree species of Hawaiʻi. Viable Ceratocystis propagules can persist in ambrosia beetle frass (Coleoptera: Scolytinae), and movement of the frass may play a key role in the spread of the disease. In order to prevent the spread of ROD, we developed effective and practical surface (e.g., tools and shoes) decontamination methods to be used by researchers, managers, and the public alike. We first tested different household and laboratory disinfectants on the Ceratocystis fungi in culture, and then we applied the effective culture disinfectants to contaminated ambrosia beetle frass. Laboratory-grade ethanol (70, 80, and 95%), Clorox bleach (10%, 0.825% active ingredient [a.i.]), and isopropanol (70 and 91%), were all equally effective at decontaminating cultured C. lukuohia and C. huliohia. Although all concentrations of isopropanol (50, 70, and 90%) and ethanol (50, 70, and 90%) were effective disinfectants of Ceratocystis-contaminated frass, treatments of frass with up to 20% Clorox bleach (1.2% a.i.) were not completely adequate at killing the fungus. These data reveal that bleach is not a sufficient ROD disinfectant when frass is present, and isopropanol or ethanol are the more reliable options.

Abstract:
Abstract Purpose The purpose of this empirical research is to empirically investigate the effect of Covid-19 crisis on Egyptians’ risk perception attitude, perceived safety and local travel intentions inside Egypt for the aim of reaching significant marketing insights and recommendation to benefit the tourism sector during Covid-19 pandemic. Those marketing insights can help prepare citizens to deal with the crisis challenges for the objective of normalizing everyday practice, maintain productivity and help protect the stability of the community. Design/methodology/approach This research adopts the variables of the Extended Parallel Process Model (EPPM), which provides a useful framework to understand how individuals respond to crisis/risk. This research empirically investigates the current insights, concerns and needs of 300 samples from the Egyptian community for the aim of reaching a practical method of normalization; thus, bridging what the researcher would like to call “the blind spot” or gaps of actions between decision makers and citizens. This research applies quantitative research method. Data were collected online. It is significant to pinpoint that this empirical investigation adopts the Extended Parallel Process Model (EPPM), which provides a useful framework to understand how individuals respond to crisis/risk communication messages for the purpose of investigating the research hypotheses; thus, this empirical study does not aim to extend nor to present a conceptual framework for the adopted Extended Parallel Process Model (EPPM) within the Egyptian milieu. Findings The research findings suggest new marketing implementations for overcoming the challenges facing the local tourism sector in Egypt due to Covid-19 pandemic crisis, and further recommends an audience-centered paradigm in marketing and communicating promotional messages. Originality/value To date, limited empirical research has investigated Egyptian tourists’ insights for sustaining the internal tourism sector in Egypt during normal and crisis times. This research is considered valuable to decision makers, marketers and academics alike as it provides up- to- date marketing insights and empirical results for the aim of normalizing the internal tourism practices in Egypt after the pandemic shock and even during the consecutive waves of Covid-19.

Abstract:
Abstract Background: We previously reported that Lenalidomide combined with R-CHOP (R2CHOP) has significant activity in non-GCB (non-germinal center B-cell) subtype of DLBCL as defined by immunohistochemistry (IHC) using Hans algorithm (J Clin Oncol. 2015 Jan 20;33(3):251-7). However, defining non-GCB subtype of DLBCL by IHC as opposed to the "gold standard" gene expression profiling (GEP) is subject to technical limitations and its prognostic value has not reproduced in some recently published studies. In addition, recent reports questioned prognostic value of GEP in prospective clinical trials as opposed to initial reports from retrospective case series. To address these concerns, we assessed outcomes by cell of origin (COO) as determined via GEP using NanoString Lymphoma Subtyping Test (LST) on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue on patients enrolled in a phase 2 study of R2CHOP and an independent comparison cohort of patients treated with RCHOP alone. Methods: Eligible patients for R2CHOP phase 2 study MC078E were adults with newly diagnosed, untreated, stages II-IV CD20 positive DLBCL. Patients received oral lenalidomide 25 mg days 1-10 with standard dose R-CHOP every 21 days for 6 cycles. All patients received pegfilgrastim on day 2 of each cycle and aspirin prophylaxis. DLBCL molecular subtype was determined by GEP using NanoString LST, a multiplexed digital gene expression assay performed on the nCounter® Dx Analysis System and reported as GCB vs ABC vs unclassified. A comparison cohort of RCHOP treated DLBCL patients was generated from the prospectively enrolled Mayo Clinic component of the Lymphoma SPORE Molecular Epidemiology Resource (MER). MER patients meeting the same inclusion criteria as MC078E with available tissue were selected based via matching on age, stage, and IPI to the MC078E patients. Event-free survival was defined as time from diagnosis (MER) or study registration (MC078E) to progression, re-treatment, or death. EFS24 was defined as being event-free at 24 months. Associations between COO and outcome were assessed via log-rank tests due to censoring for EFS24. Results: 50 MC078E R2CHOP patients enrolled between 2008 and 2013,124 matched MER RCHOP patients diagnosed between 2003 and 2012 were assessed for COO. Median follow up in 70 patients still alive was 7.9 years (1.9-13.0) in RCHOP treated patients and 4.4 years (1.9-5.5) for 24 in R2CHOP treated patients still alive. Median age was 65 years (range 35-89) in RCHOP treated patients and 69 years (22-87) in R2CHOP patients (p=0.485). 53 RCHOP treated patients (43%) and 31 R2CHOP treated patients (62%) had intermediate-high or high IPI (p=0.021). COO was GCB, ABC, and unclassified DLBCL subtype in 80, 31 and 13 patients in the 124 RCHOP cohort and 33, 13 and 4 patients in the R2CHOP treated patients, respectively (see table). EFS24 was inferior for ABC (48%) compared to GCB DLBCL 71% in MER RCHOP treated patients (p=0.013). In contrast, in R2CHOP treated pts, EFS24 was not different between ABC vs GCB DLBCL 69% vs 67% (p= 0.674). Conclusion: Cell of origin classification of DLBCL determined by NanoString LST remains prognostic in a series of prospectively enrolled DLBCL patients treated with RCHOP. R2CHOP shows promising efficacy in ABC DLBCL as defined by NanoString LST, where the addition of lenalidomide to RCHOP appears to mitigate the negative impact of an ABC molecular subtype on the outcome. Abstract:
A Hadith states that Muslims will disunity into 73 groups. When the Prophet was still alive all the problems of the Ummah could be returned to him, so there was no disunity. But after he died, many problems surfaced. The event of tahkim (arbitration) as an attempt to resolve the Shiffin war, instead gave rise to three major groups, namely the Shi’ite, Khawarij and Muawwiyah. The last group is often referred to as the ahlus Sunni. These events are often used as legal points, for the emergence of various religious groups in Islam today. The writing of this study uses the study literature method. As for the results of this study concluded, that: a) The Hadith concerning "The disunity of the people into 73 groups", included the famous Hadith (popular), the Hadith that has been widely delivered by many figures and the general public also knows it; b) The narrators on each path or sanad traversed by the mukharrij al Hadith, on thobaqat tabi'in namely Abi Salamah with a friend named Abu Hurairah unknown meeting, so the position of this Hadith is not up to the degree of saheeh, because it is not continued (ghoiru muttasil). Based on the Quran, Hadith, or ushul analysis, the Hadith about the disunity of Muslims into 73 groups, it is better not to be used as the main material in lectures and or sermons, because it brings more damage than the benefit.

ObjectivesCell therapies are an emerging therapeutic approach for spinal cord injury. We assessed the survival and phenotype of olfactory ensheathing cells (OECs) in hydrogel delivery systems suitable for clinical use.DesignLaboratory study.MethodsCell survival in different formulations of collagen and fibrin hydrogels was assessed using Syto 9 and propidium iodide. The proportion of cells staining positive for a key repair marker (p75NTR) was also quantified using immunocytochemistry and fluorescence microscopy.ResultsThere were significant differences in OEC survival between the various collagen and fibrin hydrogel formulations tested (p<0.001 one-way ANOVA, n=17). 10% v/v fibrin conferred the best cell survival with 85% of OECs remaining alive. Incorporating OECs into collagen hydrogels promoted the highest proportion of p75NTR immunopositive cells (78%) and this was significantly higher than both fibrin hydrogels and traditional monolayer culture (53% and 20%, respectively, p<0.0001 one-way ANOVA, n=24).ConclusionsCollagen and fibrin hydrogels both have the potential to enhance the delivery, survival and retention of transplanted OECs for spinal cord repair. Both materials are clinically scalable, promote favourable OEC survival and have the potential to increase the proportion of cells expressing a key repair marker (p75NTR). Optimised hydrogel delivery systems may provide a valuable approach to improve the delivery of OECs for spinal cord repair in the future.

Abstract:
PURPOSE The selective cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 inhibitor palbociclib was approved in Argentina in 2015 for postmenopausal women with hormone receptor (HR)–positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)–negative advanced breast cancer (ABC) or metastatic breast cancer (MBC) based on phase III study results. The Ibrance Real World Insights (IRIS) study aims to evaluate palbociclib in patients with HR-positive/HER2-negative ABC or MBC in the real-world setting in multiple countries globally. Here we report results from patients enrolled in the IRIS study in Argentina. PATIENTS AND METHODS This retrospective medical chart review study included postmenopausal women with confirmed HR-positive/HER2-negative ABC or MBC who were treated with palbociclib plus letrozole as first-line endocrine-based therapy or with palbociclib plus fulvestrant in women with disease progression after endocrine therapy. Participating physicians reviewed medical records of up to six patients each, collecting demographic and clinical data. Outcomes included progression-free and overall survival rates. RESULTS Records were extracted for 162 patients in Argentina (palbociclib plus letrozole, n = 105 [65%]; palbociclib plus fulvestrant, n = 57 [35%]). The 6-month progression-free survival rate was 94% for patients treated with palbociclib plus letrozole and 95% for patients treated with palbociclib plus fulvestrant; 85% and 80% of patients treated with palbociclib plus letrozole were progression free at 12 and 18 months, respectively. Six-month survival rates were 98% for palbociclib plus letrozole and 98% for palbociclib plus fulvestrant; 93% and 89% of patients treated with palbociclib plus letrozole were alive at 12 and 18 months, respectively. CONCLUSION Results from this first real-world evaluation of clinical outcomes in Argentina suggest that palbociclib plus letrozole or fulvestrant delivers favorable effectiveness, as measured by progression-free and overall survival rates.

Abstract:
1006 Background: PIK3CA mutations (mut) occur in ~40% of pts with HR+, HER2– ABC and are associated with poor prognosis and resistance to treatment (tx). ALP, a PI3Kα inhibitor, plus FUL demonstrated efficacy in the phase 3 SOLAR-1 trial of HR+, HER2– PIK3CA-mut ABC. Little clinical data and few prospective studies are available to inform tx decisions for pts with HR+, HER2– PIK3CA-mut ABC in the post-CDKi setting. BYLieve is the first trial evaluating ALP + endocrine therapy (ET; FUL or letrozole) in pts with HR+, HER2– PIK3CA-mut ABC who progressed on/after prior therapy, including CDKi. In this ongoing phase 2, open-label, noncomparative study, 112 pts with centrally confirmed PIK3CA mut in tumor tissue are enrolled in each cohort per immediate prior tx of CDKi + AI, CDKi + FUL, or systemic chemo or ET. Enrollment is complete in prior CDKi + AI and CDKi + FUL cohorts and ongoing in prior systemic chemo or ET cohort. We report on the cohort of pts with CDKi + AI as immediate prior tx. Methods: Pts received ALP 300 mg/day + FUL 500 mg Q28D + C1D15. Primary endpoint was proportion of pts alive without disease progression at 6 mo per local assessment; 2-sided 95% confidence intervals (CI) were calculated using Clopper and Pearson (1934) exact method. Evidence of clinically meaningful tx effect was defined as the lower bound of the 95% CI > 30%. Safety was assessed in all patients; AEs presented by preferred term. Results: 127 pts whose immediate prior tx was CDKi + AI were enrolled, of whom 121 had centrally confirmed PIK3CA mut; median follow-up was 11.7 mo. Primary endpoint was met: proportion of pts without disease progression at 6 mo was 50.4% (95% CI, 41.2-59.6). Most frequent all-grade AEs were diarrhea (60%), hyperglycemia (58%), nausea (46%), fatigue (29%), decreased appetite (28%), and rash (28%). Most frequent grade ≥3 AEs included hyperglycemia (28%), rash (9%), and rash maculopapular (9%). Incidence of AEs leading to discontinuation was low; most frequent AEs leading to discontinuation were rash (5 pts, 3.9%), colitis, hyperglycemia, urticaria, and vomiting (2 pts, 1.6% each). Conclusions: With follow-up still ongoing, BYLieve shows in a large number of pts that ALP + FUL demonstrates clinically meaningful efficacy and manageable toxicity post CDKi tx. Building on findings from SOLAR-1, BYLieve further supports use of ALP + FUL for HR+, HER2– PIK3CA-mut ABC. Clinical trial information: NCT03056755 .

Abstract:
The discussion regarding the writing of hadith during the life of the Prophet is a contentious topic within the area of Islamic and hadith studies both in the West and in the Islamic world. Orientalists write their work on hadith with a presumption that hadith has never been written during the life of Prophet Muḥammad. They contend that hadith text only emerged in the third century of Hijrah, i.e. in the era of al-Bukhāri. A few others believe that it started in the era of Malik of the Umayyad. This orientalist’ mindset affects some Muslim intellectuals who accept this premise. One of them is Harun Nasution, a well respected great mind who wrote a book entitled Islam Ditinjau Dari Berbagai Aspeknya (Islam Viewed from Various Aspects). However, historical evidence demonstrates that the writing of hadith was carried out at the time when the Prophet was still alive. A number of sheets were discovered, which contain hadith text compilations narrated by the companions of the Prophet, such as the Ṣahīfah of ͑Ali bin Abi Ṭalib, Ṣahifah of Jābir bin ͑Abdillah, and others. Some scholars have misunderstood the message in a saying of the Prophet that prohibited the writing of hadith. They have ignored other hadith that negated the previous hadith by which the Prophet allowed the writing of hadith in his life time. Even though there are a number companions who did not write hadith in this period, it does not mean hadith were not allowed to be written, but it was due to their own preference not to write the hadith.[Perdebatan tentang penulisan hadits masa kehidupan Nabi tetap menjadi tema yang hangat dalam kajian keislaman dan kajian hadits, baik di barat maupun di dunia Islam sendiri.

Abstract:
We present the high-level language of relational growth grammars (RGGs) as a formalism designed for the specification of ALife models. RGGs can be seen as an extension of the well-known parametric Lindenmayer systems and contain rule-based, procedural, and object-oriented features. They are defined as rewriting systems operating on graphs with the edges coming from a set of user-defined relations, whereas the nodes can be associated with objects. We demonstrate their ability to represent genes, regulatory networks of metabolites, and morphologically structured organisms, as well as developmental aspects of these entities, in a common formal framework. Mutation, crossing over, selection, and the dynamics of a network of gene regulation can all be represented with simple graph rewriting rules. This is demonstrated in some detail on the classical example of Dawkins' biomorphs and the ABC model of flower morphogenesis: other applications are briefly sketched. An interactive program was implemented, enabling the execution of the formalism and the visualization of the results.

Abstract:
Sitosterolemia is an ultra-rare autosomal recessive dyslipidemia characterized by mutations in genes encoding the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) G5/8 transporters. We describe the case of a 20-month-old female presenting with xanthomas and serum low density lipoprotein cholesterol of 657 mg/dL. Diagnostic workup revealed a previously undescribed sitosterolemia-causing mutation. After elimination of dietary sterols and initiation of ezetimibe therapy, the patient’s xanthomas resolved, and serum low density lipoprotein cholesterol was reduced to 104 mg/dL. Importantly, pathologically elevated serum phytosterols were found in each of the proband’s heterozygous parents. Elevated phytosterols, an established cause of atherosclerosis, are typically unrevealed by standard lipid testing. As heterozygous mutations for ABCG5/8 are relatively common, this has implications for a broader population than the ultra-rare sitosterolemia cohort. Thus, insights gleaned from this case highlight underappreciated matters in the prevention of atherosclerotic disease in both heterozygous and homozygous carriers alike.

Abstract:
Features of north-west belorussian dialects as a result of regional ethno-cultural contacts and relationsFor a long time, north-west Belorussian dialects (and their predecessors) have been the area of different Slavic-Baltic contacts and relations. Interactions between Slavs and Balts took place here always on adstratum and substratum levels. These processes have led to the formation of the north-west dialect zone (= regiolect) of Belorussian. The corresponding linguistic phenomena form a basis of the north-west dialectal complex and can be discovered on every level of the language. As a rule, there are not many significant structural changes. However, some of them reflect certain tendencies and possibilities of the linguistic development in the region. These can achieve the status of structural innovations in the language.Belorussian-Polish language interaction is the second important moment in the formation of the north-west dialectal zone of Belorussian. The influence of Polish (both the dialectal and the standard varieties) on the Belorussian dialects can predominantly be discerned in the vocabulary and word-building mechanisms. The Baltic and especially Polish influences are also important for keeping some early linguistic phenomena alive and reinforcing their status as regional features of Belorussian dialects.Frequently, both factors have a joint effect. On the whole, the tendency to form a common repository of linguistic features is present in north-west Belorussian and neighbouring Baltic and Slavic dialects at any time. Therefore, we may say that the language is gradually forming a new independent variety with specific structure and a complex of distinctive features.

Abstract:
e12015 Background: Spanish MoH authorized eribulin in 04/2011 for use in patients as per license. Pending reimbursement, public hospitals used it through a national compassionate use program. After 1 year, we analyzed the pre-specified patient selection criteria and eribulin efficacy and safety results in a representative sample to confirm whether real world use matched the data from the pivotal phase III study. Methods: An observational, retrospective analysis was proposed to the top 20 hospitals by eribulin use, with at least 3 candidate patients who had/could have received ≥3 cycles of treatment by 03/2012. Patient and disease characteristics, as well as efficacy and safety parameters were obtained. Patient´s data were collected until September 2012. Living patients able to respond at the time of the study signed an informed consent. Study was approved by ethics committees. Results: Out of 112 screened ABC patients in 19 participating hospitals, 104 were enrolled. Median age was 56.6 years and 66% were post-menopausal. Visceral disease occurred in 2/3 of patients. ECOG status was ≤1 in 75,4% of patients. Estrogen receptor expression was found in 64.4% of tumors; 15.4% overexpressed HER2. 49% of patients received 1-5 treatment lines for ABC before eribulin. Mean eribulin treatment duration was 3 months (4,7 cycles). Disease control rate was 48.8% (1.1% CR, 22.1% PR, 25.6% SD). By 09/2012, 64,4% patients were still alive and median PFS was 97 days (95% IC: 81-129). 78.8% of patients reported ≥1 adverse events, being asthenia, neutropenia, anemia, alopecia, nauseas, and mucositis the most frequent ones (≥10%). Grade ≥3 adverse events occurred in ≤5% of patients. Conclusions: The favorable efficacy and safety profile of eribulin observed in this observational study is consistent with the pivotal phase III study (EMBRACE) and confirms its position for the treatment of ABC. Pre reimbursement usage has been restricted to later lines but use per the licensed indication in 3L is expected to yield additional clinical benefit. A confirmatory observational study (EUFORIA-2) is planned.

Abstract:
This article places 1950s women story editors in television in the context of the studio system and explains the particular labor of the story and script editors in film and TV. It examines the extant records and archival sources (including newspapers, industry trade publications, and internal memos) of women story editors such as Dorothy Hechtlinger, Alice Young, Jacqueline Babbin, and Janet Wood in conjunction with the historical work of David Waterman and Erin Hill, as well as the theoretical model Michel Foucault posits in his essay on the criminal notices of obscure “infamous men.” These “infamous” (or, more appropriately, un-famous) women story editors become visible as they are being penalized, disciplined, or fired—which is to say, they only appear in the historical record when they are being pushed out or when they push back. As Hechtlinger writes in an angry memo to a supervisor at The United States Steel Hour (ABC, 1953–55; CBS, 1955–63), “I think it was a shameful omission that I was not permitted to attend today’s meeting.” For decades, women like Hechtlinger and Wood have suffered such “omissions” within television history. This essay seeks to integrate their stories, work, and subjectivities into the field of postwar media industry studies while revealing how this hidden history invites a rereading of media texts from the period.

Abstract:
Illegal invasion of schooling into the preschool education can be peacefully suspended by developing the conceptual play based on narratives, in which special characters are acting. These characters of conceptual play are of the dual nature: while they reason and act as concepts that come alive, they feel and communicate as humans in flesh and blood. In the elementary school, the development of students’ learning activity employs the conceptual plays as a successful conduit for introducing concepts, which cannot be constructed through hand-on activities. In the preschool, the conceptual play opens the way to coach knowledge and skills traditionally associated with schooling. By teaching preschoolers with the help of the conceptual plays, adults get the opportunity to design the learning content that combines affect and intelligence, lays the foundation for operating with schemes, and most importantly, promotes children's initiative in intellectual pursuits and expands its scope. The outlines of conceptual play are exemplified by episodes of teaching literacy in the first grade with the ABC textbook by D.B. Elkonin.

Abstract:
Abstract Abstract 4574 Richter's transformation (RT) from chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) to diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) occurs in about 5% of pts and confers significant morbidity and mortality. In de novo DLBCL the cell of origin (COO), either activated B-cell like (ABC) or germinal center B-cell like (GCB), is prognostic. The ABC group has been shown to have both a less favorable response to chemoimmunotherapy and a shorter overall survival than the GCB group. However, COO has not been previously described for pts with RT. The aim of our study was to determine the pattern of COO in RT and to determine if prognostic correlates exist. Clinical information on 30 pts with CLL and pathologically-confirmed RT were obtained from the CLL cohort treated at our institution from 1980 to July, 2012, and, of these, 13 pts had sufficient data for inclusion in the analysis. Paraffin-embedded DLBCL tissue specimens were subjected to antigen retrieval and antibody staining via commercially manufactured products. CD10, BCL-6, and MUM-1 were the antigens identifiable by staining and used in the Hans method for COO determination. Immunoglobulin heavy chain VDJ-PCR was performed on CLL and RT tissue specimens and compared in order to establish clonality on some tissue specimens. Kappa and lambda immunophenotyping was compared between CLL samples and RT tissue samples for clonal assessment as well. Of the 13 pts evaluated, 10 were ABC-type and 3 were GCB-type. Median age was 59 yrs, 7 male, 6 female, 3 ZAP 70 +, 6 IgVH mutated. EBER staining was positive in 2/13 RT pts. For the ABC-type, median time to transformation (TTT) was 25 mos (0–288 mos) for the GCB- type median TTT was 48 mos (48–100 mos). The one-year OS for pts after RT was 38%; 40% for ABC-type and 33% for GCB-type. For the ABC-type, survival after transformation (SAT) was a median of 10.5 mos (1–96 mos), for the GCB-type median survival was 3 mos (9 days-14+ mos). The pts with the longest TTT (98 and 288 mos), had an IPI of 2. Those with shortest TTT (0, concurrent diagnosis of RT and CLL) had IPIs of 5. Of the pts with ABC-type: 5 were previously treated with chemotherapy for CLL; 4/5 fludarabine-based regimens, and 2 with rituximab monotherapy. Available treatment information for RT in ABC-type: 1 with HyperCVAD, 4 with RCHOP, 1 with HyperCVAD followed by REPOCH. One pt went on to BMT, and one required IT chemotherapy for CNS involvement. For the 3 pts with GCB-type, 2 received prior treatment for CLL with FR, the other pt was previously untreated. Treatment for RT in the GCB-type included: R-CHOP, DCDT-2980S (an investigational drug–antibody conjugate), and ongoing treatment on a clinical trial with ibrutinib in one pt who remains alive, radiation therapy for another who died 3 mos after RT, and one pt who died 9 days after RT and was not treated for transformed disease. Five of the 11 evaluable samples were found to be of a different clone from the original CLL and 6/11 were the same clone based on VDJ-PCR and immunophenotype. Longer TTT (48 mos or more) correlated with the finding of a different clone in the RT. The 2 pts who had synchronous diagnoses of RT and CLL were from the same clone. A higher prevalence of ABC-type DLBCL was noted in this series of RT pts. Among 10 ABC-type RT pts, there was a shorter median TTT compared with GCB–type RT pts. In the ABC-type RT pts there was a correlation between longer TTT and longer survival, which may be reflective of the underlying biology of the lymphoma within the ABC-type. This correlation was not seen in the GCB group. An association between the type of chemotherapy used in the CLL setting and the COO was not identified. In the ABC-group, survival was not impacted by type of chemotherapy used in RT. In contrast to de novo DLBCL, there was a suggestion of a more favorable outcome with the RT ABC-type. In those cases of longer TTT (4 yrs +), the RT clone appeared different than the original CLL based on PCR or immunophenotype. This difference may represent a CLL clone that escaped chemotherapeutic destruction and then developed into RT, or the possibility of a newer clone that emerged independent of the original lymphoma and confirms what has been previously described, that all RT are not clonally evolved but a de novo event in some cases. Though a small sample size, the results of this series of pts is hypothesis-generating. Improved prognostic accuracy and risk-directed therapeutic strategies may become possible with an improved classification of COO of RT. Disclosures: No relevant conflicts of interest to declare.

Abstract:
e13017 Background: Activation of the mammalian target of rapamycin intracellular signaling pathway is one of the mechanisms of endocrine resistance in breast cancer. The addition of everolimus to exemestane improves progression-free survival (PFS) in patients with hormone receptor positive (HR+) advanced breast cancer (ABC) previously treated with nonsteroidal aromatase inhibitors (NSAIs). The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness and safety of everolimus plus exemestane in patients with HR+ ABC. Methods: We retrospectively evaluated patients with HR+, HER2 negative ABC treated with everolimus/exemestane that recurred or progressed during/after treatment with NSAIs in a portuguese comprehensive cancer center. Study endpoints were PFS, overall survival (OS), overall response rate and adverse events. Results: Between April 2014 and September 2020, 63 female patients were treated with everolimus/exemestane. Median age was 59 years (36-79), and all had performance status ECOG ≤2. Seventeen (27.0%) patients had bone metastasis alone, 39 (61.9%) had bone and visceral metastasis, 25 (39.7%) had metastasis in 3 or more sites and 87.3% had previous hormone-sensitive disease. Before everolimus/exemestane, 61 (96.8%) patients were being treated with palliative endocrine therapy (alone or in combination with CDK4/6 inhibitors) or chemotherapy (ChT) and 2 (3.2%) patients were under adjuvant endocrine therapy. Median follow-up time was 12.8 months (1.4-74.6), with 39 patients alive. Overall response rate was 14.3% (1 complete response and 8 partial responses) and 45 patients had stable disease. Median PFS was 5.6 months (CI95% 2.4-8.8) and median OS was 25.4 months (CI95% 10.3-40.5). Subgroup analysis regarding PFS was statistically significant for previous treatment with CDK4/6 inhibitors (p = 0.026) and for site of metastasis (p = 0.025). In the subgroup of patients that previously underwent palliative ChT, median PFS was 4.0 months (CI95% 0.2-9.6) and median OS was 18.6 months (CI95% 8.2-29.0). For patients that did not receive previous palliative ChT, median PFS was 5.8 months (CI95% 3.8-7.8) and median OS was 43.5 months (CI95% 2.0-85.0). Grade 3 and 4 adverse events occurred in 21 (33.3%) patients, and were: nausea, anorexia, rash, headache, haematologic toxicity, hepatic cytolysis, hyperglycaemia, pneumonitis, oral mucositis and acute kidney failure with need for haemodialysis. Fifty-five (87.3%) patients suspended everolimus, 34 (54.0%) due to disease progression and 21 (33.3%) due to toxicity. Conclusions: Our results confirm the effectiveness and safety of everolimus/exemestane in real-world setting and support its use mainly before palliative ChT. Everolimus/exemestane in HR+ ABC is feasible in the clinic, with toxicity manageable under close surveillance.
