Abstract:

Abstract:
Ibn al-Nafis is a monumental figure in Islamic scholarship. He wrote a fictional novel entitled “ Al-Risalah al-Kamiliyah fi’l sira al-Nabawiyah” which is translated as “ Theologus autodidactus”. This article does not focus on the content of this book but on the philological persepctive of how this book is edited by Joseph Schacht and Max Meyerhoff. Therefore, the question is whether this book which is edited by these two scholars is based on academic standards or not. Another question is how the editors study this text , particularly their main basis of editing this text.

Abstract:
Muslims researchers make separation between legal traditions (ah}a>dith al-ah}ka>m) documented in theliterature traditions; and historical traditions (ah}ad> ith al-sira) are summarized in the literature of classicalIslamic historiography. But it turns out in a number of Sirah literature, there are some traditions ofAhk} am found. In contras, in the h}adith literatures, there are also found historical tradition. From here,it can be stated that the tradition has three dimensions at once; historical dimension, categorized ashadith Sirah; juridical dimension, identified as hadith Ahk} am; and historical and juridical dimension aswell. For this latter form, the hadith can be flexible and conditional, in the sense that when it is containedin the literature historiography, categorized as h}adith Sirah, and vice versa, as contained in the Hadithliterature in the form of juridical -dogmatic,- it is categorized as a hadith al-Ah}ka>m. Therefore, thehadith sira patterned in two functions; justification prophetic treatise (dala’> il Nabawiyya); and juridical -dogmatic arguments (dala>’il diniyyah). These two functions are the implications of the concept ofimitation of the Prophet as an integral whole, because its realization as a model of humanity , philosophicallycould not limited by space and time. Life events and behaviors Nabawiyya being operatedfrom childhood until the prophetic, always maintained from disobedience (‘ismah) , in addition to alsoendowed a number of advantages , as a sign that he is a ‘candidate’ prophets and apostles (irha>s)

Abstract:
Abstract. Accurate estimation of the low-flow discharge is very important in evaluating the impact of climate change on water resources. This study focuses on the storage–discharge equation and the optimal parameters of the low flow. In order to investigate the sensitivity of the two parameters in the process of the calculation of low flow, we prepared 19 900 sets of the two parameters in the storage–discharge equation and carried out hydrological analysis using the hourly hydrological model presented by Fujimura et al. (2012). The study basins are the Sameura Dam basin (SAME basin) located in western Japan which has variability of rainfall, and the Shirakawa Dam basin (SIRA basin) located in a region of heavy snowfall in eastern Japan. The period of available hydrological data is 20 years for the SAME basin and 10 years for the SIRA basin. The results suggest that the optimal combination of two parameters can be identified by exponential equations. This study also estimates the annual water balance for the two basins based on hydrological analysis using the optimal parameters in the storage–discharge equation of low flow.

Abstract:
This paper studies Qur’anic verses being the sabab al-wurud of hadiths (verses that became the background or accompany the birth of certain hadith reports). Examining hadith literatures, this paper argues that such existing connection between the Qur’an and hadith emphasizes the central position of the Prophet as the “exegete” of the Qur’an, e it in the form of sayings, actions or affirmation. The records can be traced in commentaries of the Qur’an (tafsir bi al-ma’thur), hadith literatures and sira. Coastal waters of Tanjung Sira has calcareousalgae of the genus Halimeda limestone, Padina, Amphiroa, Galaxaura, Corallina, Hydrolithon, Mesophyllum, Peysonallia, Porolithon and Sporolithon. The substrate that used as habitat are sand, coarse sand, rocks and dead coral rubble. Calcium carbonate contained on calcareous algae fungsioning as adhesive and encrusting dead coral, shells of mollusks that have decayed and massive objects in the waters of the sea. The research aims was to determine the growth characteristics of calcareousalgae in the reef flats, local distribution, calcium carbonate contain and its contribution as a frame work coastal reef waters. The research method using transect (Buckland et al., 1993). Identification of the type of aragonite and calcite according to Cordero (1977). Analysis of calcium carbonate according to Hillis (1980). The results showed that the green and brown calcareousalgae found in the reef flats, has thallus and tubers. Red calcareousalgae grew as encrusting on dead reefs and massif substrate. There are 16 species of calcareous algae that found in reseach area, 10 species containing aragonite mineral and 6 species containing calcite mineral. The content of calcium carbonate on each species obtained 100-450 g/m² consists of aragonite and calcite minerals. Calcareousalgae contribute in the new formation of coral reef ecosystems. The other benefit of calcareaousalgae in the coastal waters is an additional food for herbivorous fish. The content of calcium carbonate on calcareousalgae species is used in pharmaceutical field as drug ingredients and supplements for humans.

Abstract:
After the new order (ORBA) has collapsed, HTI is the most solid and has the widest network among the other new Islamic movements that always struggle to implement the Sharia. Furthermore, HTI is the most radical movement because HTI does not only have aims to implement the Sharia but to build Islamic caliphate as well. How the Sharia concept in caliphate frame and the HTI effort in realizing the aims is the focus of this qualitative research. To answer this question, the researcher interviews some HTI activists and attends in some HTI activities in Yogyakarta. According to HTI, the Sharia encompasses every life aspect; such as worship, ethic, food, drink, dress or mu’amalah (government, economy, education, justness. Etc). The Sharia can only be applied perfectly (kaffah) in the Islamic caliphate system. The efforts of HTI in implementing the Sharia in the system of caliphate country are explained by using the Doug Macadam’s theories of social movement; those are 1) political opportunities 2) mobilizing structures; either internal, by tathqif, or external, by tathqif jama’i and talab al-nusrah, 3) framing process by sira’ al-fikri, kifah siyasi and tabanni masalih al-‘ummah. Refering to the social movement, HTI is a revolutionary movement which aims to replace the old social order at all by a new system. This movement tries to save and free the ummah from the broken and kufr system along with social critics to some social troubles which create crisis in life. Therefore, HTI will grow widely in social order which is full of poverty, injustice, corruption and all arbitrariness. Otherwise, HTI will be difficult to be big movement in the prosperous and just countries.

Abstract:
The article summarizes some material on the study of the imam-khatyb of Moscow Cathedral Mosque Ahmetzyan Mustafin’s library (1902– 1986). The analysis of Mustafin’s book collection is determined not only by purely bookish interest, but also by the intention to study more thoroughly the daily life of a prominent Muslim religious figure of the Soviet times, his reading interests, his attitude to the book culture, his approach for collecting religious and reference literature. The chronological scope of the collection includes books and manuscripts up to the late eighteenth century — and until the 1970s and early 1980s. Mustafin’s library contains books in Arabic, Turkish, Tatar and Farsi. It also covers various spheres of Muslim theology — Qur’anic exegetics (tafsir), prophetic traditions (hadith), the biographies of the Prophet and his companions (sira), history (tarih), religious law and its methodology (fiqh wa usul al-fiqh), morality (akhlaq), mysticism (tasawwuf) and philosophy (falsafa). Dictionaries occupy a significant place, as well as various editions from the 1960–80s (for example, Qur’an commentaries) brought from foreign trips or received as a gift from foreign guests. Of interest are Tashkent editions of the Qur’an — the fact that expands the idea of Islamic institutions existence in the USSR. We also tried to keep track of the marginal notes on the books.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The article deals with the results of archeographic studies, carried out by the Institute of history, archeology and ethnography of DSC RAS in 2017-2018.The introductory part covers methods of an archeographic work in examining manuscripts: each manuscript is described in detail, according to the description plan approved by the Institute’s Department of Oriental Studies, and includes positions that give a detailed description of a descriptive unit under study and which forms the basis of archeographic research. The main body reviews archeographic studies in 2017 in 4 regions of Dagestan, where manuscripts were discovered: 3 new manuscript collections in Akushinsky district, 2 collections in Levashinsky district, 2 collections in Kayakentsky district, 10 collections in Karabudakhentsky one – overall 17 collections, including manuscripts and a large number of old-printed books.Among the arabographic materials, there are findings in following branches of medieval Arabic science: Quran and Quran disciplines, Quran commentaries, tajwid (the art of reading Quran), Arabic grammar, rhetoric, lexicography, fiqh, dogmatics, al-sira, poetics, propaedeutics, hadith, logics, astronomy.Among Turkic materials, the most interesting one is the arabographic manuscript “Derbend-nameh” with texts, mainly on history, in the Kumyk language. The total number of manuscripts and old-printed books found and studied in 2017 is more than 300 units. They date from the 15th to the 19th centuries. In 2018, the nature and focus of archeographic research changed: the task was set to narrow the gap between field and traditional archaeography. In this regard, archeographic research in that year was directed, along with searching and collecting of material, mainly for research, preparation for publication and publication of manuscript collections – in particular, of two private manuscript collections of the Keleb region of the Shamil district of the Republic of Dagestan: the collection of Gitinmagomedov Usman-Hadji from the village of Hinda and the collection of Hasanov Karimula from Somoda village..

Abstract:
Al-Sira Al-Nabawiyya is often used as a reference to violence in Islam, mainly because war narration is so dominantly displayed. The tendency of using Al-Sira Al-Nabawiyya as the basis of violence conception in Islam drives Islamic teaching practices to become violence-oriented. This article presents a re-reading of Al-Sira Al-Nabawiyya by Wakhiduddin Khan, Tariq Ramadan and Satha-Anand, with a mimetic anthropology framework. The reading on Al-Sira resulted in three conclusions. Firstly, there are many non-violence stories at all stages in the life of Prophet Muhammad, since the pre-prophetic era until his death. Secondly, the Prophet Muhammad was a teacher who based his activities on the principles of tawhîd, patience, love, forgiveness and appreciation for humanity. Thirdly, educational activities are Muhammad’s exemplary activities which are full of non-violent values. The findings of this article can be used as the basis for the reformulation of Al-Sira Al-Nabawiyya teaching materials in Islamic Education as well as the basis of teaching activities for Islamic teachers.Contribution: This article contributes to a paradigm shift in teaching the History of the Prophet Muhammad in a peaceful Islamic education system. The peaceful paradigm in this article can also divert the tendency of Islamic extremism to become an Islam that provides peace and prosperity to the universe (rahmatan lil ‘alamin).
