Abstract:
Abstract: This study aims to determine the concept of teacher etiquette towards students from the perspective of Imam al-Ghazali in the Bidāyah al-Hidāyah book and its relevance to the current educational context. This type of research is library research, with data collection through documentation techniques. This research was conducted with a qualitative descriptive approach and using content analysis techniques. Based on the results of the study, the concept of a teacher's adab towards students from Imam al-Ghazali's perspective there are fourteen, namely: Iḥtimāl (ready to bear the burden), al-Ḥilm (being polite), being seated with authority, avoiding arrogance, being Tawāḍu' ( humble), not fond of playing games and joking, gentle to students, guiding students with low IQ to the maximum, not scolding students with low IQ, not ashamed to say "I don't know", focusing on people asking questions, accepting arguments/arguments, preventing students from studying dangerous knowledge, warning students in seeking knowledge that is not pleasing to Allah, preventing students from being busy studying fard kifayah science before completing their obligation to study fard 'ain science. The concept of the adab of a teacher towards students which has been outlined by Imam al-Ghazali in the book Bidāyah al-Hidāyah, in general is still relevant to the current educational context, because the concept is still in line with educational theories that apply at this time. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsep adab guru terhadap murid perspektif imam al-Ghazali di dalam kitab Bidāyah al-Hidāyah serta relevansinya dengan konteks pendidikan saat ini. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kepustakaan (Library Research), dengan pengumpulan data melalui teknik dokumentasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan deskriftif kualitatif serta menggunakan teknik analisis isi (Content Analysis). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, konsep adab seorang guru terhadap murid perspektif Imam al-Ghazali ada empat belas, yaitu: Iḥtimāl (siap menanggung beban), al-Ḥilm (bersikap santun), bersikap duduk dengan penuh kewibawaan, menghindari sikap sombong, bersikap Tawāḍu‘ (rendah hati), Tidak gemar bermain-main dan senda gurau, lemah lembut kepada murid, membimbing murid yang rendah IQ-nya dengan maksimal, tidak memarahi murid yang rendah IQ-nya, tidak malu berkata “Aku tidak tahu”, memusatkan perhatian terhadap orang yang bertanya, menerima hujah/argumen, mencegah murid mempelajari ilmu yang membahayakan, memperingatkan murid dalam menuntut ilmu yang tidak diridhai Allah, mencegah murid sibuk mempelajari ilmu fardu kifayah sebelum selesai kewajibannya mempelajari ilmu fardu ‘ain. Konsep adab seorang guru terhadap murid yang telah digariskan oleh Imam al-Ghazali di dalam kitab Bidāyah al-Hidāyah, secara umum masih relevan dengan konteks pendidikan saat ini, karena konsep tersebut masih sejalan dengan teori-teori pendidikan yang berlaku pada saat ini. Abstract:
This study aims to find out how the moral values in the book of Bidāyah al-Hidāyah discussed through perspective of personality development theory which includes four personality developments: religious education, habituation to discipline, habituation to ethics and noble character, and habituation to independence. This type of research includes library research with secondary data sources. As for the data collection technique, the study of documentation from the study of the main sources, namely the book of Bidāyah al-Hidāyah and relevant research literature. The data obtained were then be analyzed using content analysis and found as the results of this research, namely the indicative that the Bidāyah al-Hidāyah contains three moral values. The first moral value is that students in seeking knowledge must always remember Allah. Secondly, an educator must be responsible and authoritative. And thirdly, students must have good character, morals, and humility, especially towards kyai and/or ustadz.

Abstract:
This study aims to collect, present, and analyze the Qur’ān’s talk about the guidance of Qur’ān, in Sayyid Quṭb’s al-Ẓilāl. To accomplish them, the researcher employed the inductive approach by collecting Qur’ānic verses that talk about the guidances of Qur’ān, and then locating the commentaries of the author of al-Ẓilāl on those verses. It was followed by the analytical approach by analyzing those collected verses, and finally the deductive approach by concluding issues that emerge from those examined verses relating to the Qur’ān’s talk about the guidance of Qur’ān. The researcher gathered several findings, among them: 1) The term of “al-Huda” in the Holy Qur’an has two meanings. The first, “Al-Hudā” in the sense of guidance, clarification, showing the path of truth, and clarifying the argument, and the second: “Al-Hudā” is the grace of God with success and infallibility for the servant. 2) Sayyid Qutb believes that the general or innate guidance is the greatest trust that God Almighty bestowed on all people, and that the Qur’anic guidance is the core of the miracle of the Qur’an. 3) The condition for attaining the guidance of the Qur’an is that a person has a sincere intention and corrects his aspiration when dealing with it. The second is looking and contemplating its noble verses, universal and legal. 4) The way of the Holy Qur’an in proving guidance is through exhortation and remembrance, which came in a variety of ways. 5) The goal of guidance in the views of the Qur’an is social change, and that is in two stages. The first stage is family readiness, and the second stage is social solidarity.

Di antara banyak jenis shalawat, terdapat shalawat yang dikenal dengan nama shalawat Lam Yahtalim. Shalawat ini dapat kita temukan di sebuah kitab yang ditulis oleh Syekh Muhammad Nawawi Al-Bantani yang berjudul Marāqi al-'Ubūdiyah Sharh Alā Bidāyat al-Hidāyah Li al-Imām Al-Ghazali, sebuah kitab yang menjadi atau penjelas dari kitab Bidāyatul Hidāyah karya Abu Hamid Al-Ghazali. Tulisan ini menggunakan pendekatan sejarah (historical approach) dan metode kajian pustaka (literature review), dan metode penelitiannya berupa deskriptif dan juga naratif. Tulisan ini menjelaskan profil singkat dari Syekh Nawawi Al-Bantani yang merupakan tokoh penting munculnya shalawat Lam Yahtalim. Penelitian menghasilkan kesimpulan tentang dasar jejak historis penulisan syair yang kemudian menjadi bacaan shalawat Lam Yahtalim. Selain itu juga menjelaskan nilai religius dalam shalawat tersebut yang berisi tentang keistimewaan-keistimewaan (kekhususan) yang dimiliki oleh Nabi Muhammad Saw. yang terkandung di dalam setiap bait demi bait. Selain itu juga menjelaskan tentang alasan dari mengapa para ulama menjadikan dan menganjurkan bacaan shalawat Lam Yahtalim tersebut sebagai bacaan untuk menghindarkan seorang Muslim dari bahaya kebakaran api, pencurian, dan bencana atau musibah yang lainnya.

This research is motivated by a moral shift among the younger generation, especially students at school, especially in relationships. Many students have bad morals such as like to badmouth their friends, like to prank friends and behave impolitely towards teachers and parents. This study aims to describe the etiquette of association and friendship according to al-Ghazālī's Bidāyatul Hidāyah book and identify the relevance of social and friendship etiquette according to al-Ghazālī's Bidāyatul Hidāyah book on the formation of student character. This type of research is a type of library research with qualitative research and data analysis using content analysis with a descriptive approach. The results of this study conclude that the concepts of etiquette of al-Ghazālī's perspective and its relevance to character building is: 1). Etiquette to students, setting a good example to students; 2). Etiquette to the teacher, respect him by greeting first when you meet him; 3) Etiquette to Parents, Doing good and respecting them, without having to be asked by them first; 4). Etiquette to others, Always close and don't spread the disgrace of your friends.

Abstract:
‘Abd al-Şamad al-Fālimbānī who was considered a prolific scholar and had made a major contribution to the development of Islamic scholarship, it turns out that his ways of explaining hadith has a unique way that have been overlooked by previous researchers. In fact, he was not only recognized as an expert scholar in Sufism studies, but also had sufficient credibility to be recognized in hadith narrations. Therefore, this article reveals the characteristics of sharah hadith carried out by ‘Abd al-Şamad al-Fālimbānī in terms of his two books, Hidāyah al-Sālikīn and Siyar al-Sālikīn. The method used in this study is a literature research method with a qualitative approach in the form of exposing examples of hadiths and their editorial sharah in the two related books. The analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis by observing the pattern in the syarah hadith model used by ‘Abd al-Şamad al-Fālimbānī and comparing it with related theories so as to produce a new theory of the characteristics of patterns obtained. The results shows that the syarah hadith of ‘Abd al-Şamad al-Fālimbānī has unique characteristics, namely a language approach patterned by exposing hadiths with hadiths and has a tendency to always combine the abstract concept of Sufism with other things which are practical through definitions and divisions with the ijmali method. This can be seen from the hadiths which are interpreted differently from the Sufism approach, both in Hidāyah al-Sālikīn and Siyar al-Sālikīn. As a suggestion, this findings need to be developed in the future and can become one of the models of sharah hadith that practitioners or the general public can use in explaining the meaning of hadith ‘Abd al-Şamad al-Fālimbānī yang dinilai sebagai ulama yang produktif dan memiliki kontribusi besar terhadap perkembangan keilmuan Islam ternyata caranya dalam menjelaskan hadis yang memiliki ciri khas terlewat dari para peneliti sebelumnya. Padahal, dia tidak hanya diakui sebagai ulama yang ahli dalam bidang tasawuf, namun juga memiliki kredibilitas yang cukup diakui dalam periwayatan hadis. Oleh karena itu, artikel ini mengungkap karakteristik syarah hadis yang dilakukan oleh ‘Abd al-Şamad al-Fālimbānī yang ditinjau dari dua kitabnya, Hidāyah al-Sālikīn dan Siyar al-Sālikīn. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian pustaka dengan pendekatan kualitatif yang berupa pemaparan contoh-contoh hadis beserta redaksi syarahnya dalam kedua kitab terkait. Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif dengan mengamati pola dalam model syarah hadis yang digunakan oleh ‘Abd al-Şamad al-Fālimbānī serta membandingkannya dengan teori-teori terkait sehingga dapat menghasilkan teori baru dari karakteristik pola yang didapatkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa syarah hadis ‘Abd al-Şamad al-Fālimbānī memiliki karakteristik yang unik, yaitu pendekatan bahasa berpola pensyarahan hadis dengan hadis dan cenderung selalu mencoba memadukan konsep tasawuf yang abstrak dengan hal-hal yang bersifat praktis melalui definisi dan pembagian-pembagian dengan penggunaan metode ijmālī. Hal itu dapat dilihat dari hadis-hadis yang dimaknainya secara berbeda dengan pendekatan tasawuf baik itu dalam kitab Hidāyah al-Sālikīn maupun Siyar al-Sālikīn. Sebagai saran, temuan ini perlu dikembangkan di kemudian hari serta dapat menjadi salah satu model syarah hadis yang dapat digunakan oleh para praktisi atau masyarakat luas dalam menjelaskan makna hadis

التجريد الصرف أحد من عناصر اللغة العربية في عنصر التراكيب. والصرف قاعدة من قواعد اللغة العربية تهدف لمساعدة الطلاب في اختيار الكلمة المطابقة عند ترتيب الجمل العربية ولتنمية المفردات العربية وكذلك لحفظ الكلام والنطق والكتابة.ومن أهداف هذا البحث لوصف المشكلات المواجهة في تعليم الصرف في الفصل الأول للبنات "ب" معهد الهداية المتوسط الإسلامي بمعهد الهداية الإسلامي كارانج سوجي بورووكرتو الشمالية بانيوماس ولوصف المحاولات لحل المشكلات المواجهة في الفصل الأول للبنات "ب" معهد الهداية المتوسط الإسلامي بمعهد الهداية الإسلامي كارانج سوجي بورووكرتو الشمالية بانيوماس. ومنهج هذا البحث هو البحث الكيفي. والطريقة المستخدمة لجمع البيانات في هذا البحث هي المقابلة والملاحظة والوثيقة. أما نتائج هذا البحث فتمكن أن تتخلص كما يلي: أن المشكلات المواجهة التي تجد الباحثتان هناك هي خلفية تربية الطلاب والرغبة والدوافع وكثرة الوزن الفعل وموزونه وكثرة الأبنياء وتطبيق الكلمة غير المكتوبة في كتاب الأمثلة التصريفية إلى الباب المطابق بعد تغييرها. وتقسّم الباحثتان في المشكلات السابقة مشكلتين وهما من المشكلة اللغوية وغير اللغوية. أما تحليلها هي المشكلة اللغوية: كثرة وزن الفعل وموزونه، وكثرة الأبنياء، وتطبيق الكلمة غير المكتوبة في كتاب الأمثلة التصريفية إلى الباب المطابق بعد تغييرها. والمشكلة غير اللغوية هي: خلفية تربية الطلاب والرغبة والدوافع. وأما المحاولات لحل المشكلات وهي يقترح الأستاذ للطلاب ليستحق الكتاب المتعلق بعلم الصرف. وللطلاب أن يكثّروا التدريب في تغيير الكلمة إلى الكلمة ويتعلم الطلاب استقامة ويسأل الطلاب إلى الأستاذ إذا وجدوا المشكلات في تعلم الصرف. الكلمات الأساسية : المشكلات، التعليم، الصرف.

Penelitian ini di latar belakangi fenomena yang terjadi di dalam kehidupan manusia pada zaman sekarang ini sudah jauh dari pendidikan akhlak. Akibatnya bentuk penyimpangan terhadap nilai tersebut mudah ditemukan di lapisan masyarakat. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari berbagai peristiwa yang terjadi, yang menunjukkan penyimpangan terhadap nilai yang terdapat di dalamnya. Untuk memurnikan kembali kondisi yang sudah tidak relevan dengan ajaran Islam, satu-satunya upaya yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan kembali kepada ajaran yang terdapat di dalamnya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian studi pustaka (library research). Sumber datanya ada dua, yakni sumber primer, yaitu sumber yang berasal dari kitab Bidāyah al-Hidāyah, dan sumber skunder yaitu buku-buku yang berkaitan dan relevan dengan permasalahan dalam tesis ini dengan tehnik analisis data yaitu content analisis. Hasil penelitian. Akhlak adalah suatu sikap yang mengakar dalam jiwa yang darinya lahir berbagai perbuatan mendorong dan membimbing peserta didik atau sifat-sifat manusia yang terdidik, apa terdidik sifat itu yang baik maka dinamakan akhlak yang baik, jika sifat seseorang itu buruk maka dinamakan akhlak yang buruk. Sedangkan pendidikan akhlak menurut Imam al-Ghazali adalah usaha yang dilakukan oleh seorang pendidik untuk membentuk kepribadian yang baik pada seorang anak didik baik dari segi jasmani maupun rohani, zohir dan batin sehingga terbentuk manusia yang taat kepada Allah. Relevansi pendidikan akhlak Imam al-Ghazali dalam kitab Bidāyah al-Hidāyah, jika dihubungkan dengan konteks pendidikan karakter di Indonesia, dapat dikatakan bahwa keduanya memiliki relevansi atau hubungan keterkaitan yaitu: Pendidikan karakter tesebut cukup komprehensif, yakni meliputi hubungan dalam konteks bermasyarakat, diri sendiri dan hubungan dengan Allah Swt.

Education as a forum for the development of human potential has a noble goal, namely to form a generation with character and decorated with noble morals. The current condition is attracting attention regarding moral decadence in the midst of public life. Therefore, the assessment and implementation of character education is needed in order to alleviate increasingly crucial educational problems. This study aims to determine how the paradigm of character education according to Imam Al-Ghazali in the Bidayatul Hidayah book. The research method used is the library research method, the opinion of experts about the paradigm of the character education of Imam Al-Ghazali in the book Bidayatul Hidayah. In his efforts to overcome moral problems, Imam Al-Gahzali focused on moral formation. This can be seen from his various works, one of which is the book Bidayatul Hidayah. In this book, the paradigm of character education according to Imam Al-Ghazali includes straight intentions in studying, carrying out obedience as best as possible. As well as displaying good ethics in socializing. This shows that Imam Al-Ghazali is very concerned in alleviating the problem of moral decadence. There for it is very appropriate if his work is used as a reference in the development of character education. Pendidikan sebagai wadah pengembangan potensi manusia memiliki tujuan mulia yakni membentuk generasi yang berkarakter dan di hiasi akhlak mulia. Kondisi saat ini menyita perhatian seputar dekadensi moral ditengah kehidupan masayrakat. Maka dari itu pengkajian dan pelaksanakan pendidikan karakter sangat diperlukan guna mengentaskan masalah pendidikan yanng semakin krusial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana paradigma pendidikan karakter menurut Imam Al-Ghazali dalam kitab Bidayatul Hidayah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode library research, pendapat para ahli tentang paradigma pendididkan karakter Imam Al-Ghazali dalam kitab Bidayatul Hidayah. Dalam upayanya mengatasi permasalahan moral Imam Al-Gahzali memfokuskan pada pembentukan akhlak. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari berbagai karyanya salah satunya adalah kitab Bidayatul Hidayah. Dalam kitab ini dijelasakan paradigma pendidikan karakter menurut Imam Al-Ghazali yang meliputi niat lurus dalam menuntut ilmu, melaksanakan ketaatan dengan sebaik mungkin. Serta menampilakn etika yang baik dalam bergaul. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa Imam Al-Ghazali sangat konsen dalam mengentaskan permasalahan dekadensi moral. maka dari itu sangat tepat jika karyanya dijadikan rujukan dalam pengembangan pendidikan karakter.

The results of this research are: 1) The types of conversational interference in pupils of Noor Al-Hedaya boarding school are phonemic interference 35, 5%, grammatical interference 57%, pure interference 50%, vocabulary interference 60%, and stereotypical interference 47%; 2) The factors that cause interference in the mother tongue in a foreign language are phonemic and individual interference, grammatical interference, pure interference, stylistic interference; and 3). The efforts to overcome interference are divided into two parts, they are internal effort and external effort. The research summary had an average of over 50% of language intervention of almost all of the types.

Abstract:
The global reform of Islamic thought had impact of dividing the Minangkabau ulamas (Muslim scholars) into both “kaum tuo” as a traditionalist and “kaum mudo” as a modernist. Even today, the history of Minangkabau ulamas cannot be separated from this category. Ibrahim Musa is one of the ulamas who had unique position because of his affiliation to some groups. He also was recognized as “kaum mudo” due to his involvement in their movement. At the same time, other historical records showed his engagement with “kaum tuo.” His ambiguities in siding among Minangkabau ulamas are worth-investigating. This article seeks to analyze Ibrahim Musa’s thoughts based on his kitab, Hidāyah al-Ṣibyān. It argues that Ibrahim Musa did not clearly state his stance, except providing two views. Further, he was trying to explain their interpretations which proved that in the history of Islam in Minangkabau there are ulamas who cannot simply categorized as traditionalist or modernist due to the complexity of their thoughts of Islam. In this respect, the study of non-mainstream ulama figures like Ibrahim Musa is scholarly pivotal to construct the historiography of Minangkabau ulama as a whole.

The process of translating the Koran into local languages has a hermeneutic side that depends on the translator's milieu. This cannot be avoided as a logical consequence of the gradation of God's words into human words. Even the translated book of the Qur'an Hidāya al-Raḥmān by Muhammad Hanbali cannot be separated from the context - in this case colonial - so that this work also becomes an integral part that can be used to add fragments to the picture of the period. The author assumes that the study of this book has its own significance because the translation of the Qur'an has a broader range of verses than the Qur'anic commentary which is only studied by educated circles. This article will reveal the process of writing translation texts written in the pre-independence era. Furthermore, the factors causing the content of the text are arranged in a certain way as an answer or resistance to the problems at that time. Schleiermacher's hermeneutic theory will be used as an approach to understanding the overall picture or number and partial description or phenomenon of the text. From this it was found that the writing of this book was carried out carefully because of the supervision of the colonial government against the text to protect the status quo. Besides that, the nuances of the pensantren and Javanese ethics strongly influenced the writing style of the book.Keywords: Translation, Hidāya al-Raḥmān, colonial, hermeneutics. Pun kitab terjemah Al-Qur’an Hidāyah al-Raḥmān karya Muhammad Hanbali tidak lepas dari konteks –dalam hal ini kolonial– sehingga karya ini juga menjadi bagian integral yang dapat digunakan untuk menambah fragmen gambaran kurun tersebut. Penulis berasumsi bahwa telaah terhadap kitab ini memiliki signifikansi tersendiri karena terjemah Al-Qur’an memiliki jangakauan lebih luas daripada kitab tafsir Al-Qur’an yang hanya dikaji oleh kalangan terpelajar. Artikel ini akan mengungkap proses kepenulisan teks terjemah yang dikarang di era pra-kemerdekaan tersebut. Lebih jauh akan ditelaah faktor-faktor penyebab konten teks disusun dengan cara tertentu sebagai jawaban atau perlawanan atas permasalahan pada tempo itu. Teori hermeneutika Schleiermacher akan digunakan sebagai pendekatan untuk memahami gambaran keseluruhan atau nomena dan gambaran parsial atau fenomena dari teks. Dari sini ditemukan bahwa penulisan kitab ini dilakukan secara hati-hati karena adanya pengawasan dari pemerintah kolonial terhadap teks yang melawan status quo. Di samping itu nuansa kepesantrenan dan etika Jawa sangat kental memengaruhi gaya kepenulisan kitab.Kata Kunci: Terjemah, Hidāyah al-Raḥmān, kolonial, hermeneutika.

Abstract The reception of Mullā Ṣadrā in South Asia began soon after his death through the dissemination and commentary culture on his Sharḥ al-Hidāyah that was adopted into the Dars-e Niz̤āmī pedagogy in the eighteenth century. However, the modern reception of his thought in Urdu has been somewhat removed from that initial scholastic engagement. I examine four modalities of this reception: translation of his major work the Asfār; analytic engagement by a philosophy doctorate; triumphalism in the literary sphere; and responses to the intellectual challenge of the West by a Shiʿi seminary student. I attempt to show that these varied receptions are indicative of trends and developments in the modern intellectual history of Pakistan.

Vocabulary is the most important element in learning Arabic. In teaching this lesson, teacher must use a suitable teaching methods and image media to achieve the goals of study, unless it will be failed. For instance, some second grade students of junior high school in Fajar Hidayah Islamic boarding school, they studied vocabulary but some of them could not apply in oral or written Ta'bir. The main problem is due to the teacher had not practice suitable methods yet in teaching vocabulary. In order to solve the problem, the researcher applied method driil and image media in teaching vocabulary to the students of junior high school in Fajar Hidayah Islamic boarding school. The purpose of this research is to know the student's response to vocabulary learning by applying drill methods and image media and the effectiveness of its application to improve the ability of students in the study of vocabulary. The used method was quasi experimental designs. The study population is all students of the junior high school Fajar Hidayah and samples are second graders amounting to 22 students. The results showed that students ' responses to vocabulary learning by applying drill methods and image media were very good and the implementation was effective to improve the students ' ability to control the mufradat in the integrated Islamic School of Dawn Hidayah, evidenced by the T-count value greater than T-table.

This study explains the spread of the Syafi'i school of fiqh in the Indonesian Archipelago by taking the time of the Palembang Darussalam Sultanate. The dissemination of the Syafi'i school of fiqh was officially carried out through the sultanate institution by the ulama appointed by the Sultan. The official positions in the field of religion are Pangeran Penghulu Nata Agama, Penghulu Nata Agama, and Khatib Imam. This position continued during the colonial period and ended until 1905 as Hoofd Penghulu. In addition, the dissemination of the Syafi'i school of fiqh was also carried out by scholars who had close ties to the sultanate, such as Abdul Samad al-Palimbani, Kemas Fakhruddin, and Syihabuddin al-Misri al-Jawi al-Palimbani. Authentic evidence of the spread of the Shafi'i School of jurisprudence occurred through the translation and copying movement of the Shafi'i School of Islamic scholars, as was done by Sheikh Abdul Samad who wrote and translated books written by Imam Ghazali in the fields of fiqh and Sufism, such as books of Bidāyat al-Hidāyah was translated as Hidāyat al-Sālikīn fī Suluk al-Maslak al-Muttaqīn, and Ihyā 'Ulūm al-Dīn was translated as Sayr al-Sālikīn ilā Ibādat Rabb al-Alamīn. Thus, it can be seen that this model of dissemination has caused the Syafi'i school of jurisprudence to continue to experience its development until now to dominate as a school of law adopted by the community.

Abstract:
This study focuses on the discourse of Malay-Indonesian Sufism in Mecca at the beginning of the twentieth century. My main object is the response of Mukhtār ‘Aṭārid of Bogor (1862-1930) towards the doctrine of seven grades using the social history approach. He is a Sundanese scholar who taught in Mecca. He gave the response in his two Sundanese printed kitabs in Egypt. The study shows that Mukhtār’s response reflects the importance of Sunni orthodoxy on Sufism based on sharia. Therefore, he tends to reject the deviation of the seven grades teachings in the Indonesian archipelago which considered deviant. In the case of the teaching of Ibn ‘Arabi’s unity of existence, Mukhtār' Aṭārid seems to correct people’s misunderstandings about this teaching. He advised to be good-minded to the teaching because Ibn ‘Arabi is an expert of truth in accordance with the sharia, but most people are not able to understand it. The view point of Mukhtār ‘Atārid reflects the response of a scholar who heir to the tradition of Sunni Sufism orthodoxy towards the development of Sufism in Indonesian archipelago that spread out from the seventeenth century to the present. Keywords: seven grades, Sufism, Sunni, Sundanese Kajian ini memfokuskan pada masalah wacana tasawuf Nusantara di Mekah pada awal abad ke-20. Objek utamanya adalah tanggapan Mukhtār ‘Aṭārid al-Bughūrī (1862-1930), ulama Sunda yang mengajar di Mekah, terhadap konsep martabat tujuh. Ia menuangkannya dalam dua kitab berbahasa Sunda yang dicetak di Mesir, Kifāyah al-Mubtadi’īn dan Hidāyah al-Mubtadi’in. Melalui pendekatan sejarah sosial, hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa tanggapan Mukhtār ‘Aṭārid mencerminkan kepentingan ortodoksi Sunni dalam bidang tasawuf yang bertumpu pada syariat. Karenanya, ia cenderung menolak penyimpangan ajaran martabat tujuh di Nusantara yang dianggapnya heterodoks dan menyimpang. Sementara dalam kasus ajaran kesatuan eksistensi (tauḥīd al-wujūd) Ibn ‘Arabī, al-Jilī dan al-Burhānfūrī, Mukhtār ‘Aṭārid terlihat meluruskan kesalahpahaman orang terhadap ajarannya itu. Abstract This essay compares patterns in Ḥanafī and Mālikī rulings about marital annulments and shows how they are connected to differences in how these two schools treated the relationships between marriage, sales, and worship law. Drawing on a variety of jurisprudential texts from the 5th/11th to the 9th/15th centuries, including Ibn Rushd’s (d. 595/1198) Bidāyat al-Mujtahid and Burhān al-Dīn al-Farghānī al-Marghīnānī’s (d. 593/1197) al-Hidāyah, we first show that Ḥanafī and Mālikī rulings on annulments were consistently inconsistent: when they differed, Mālikīs consistently ruled to permit annulments that Ḥanafīs prohibited. Focusing then on annulments based on defects in dower and maintenance, we show how Mālikī rulings manifest a comparatively stronger emphasis on the analogy between marriage and sale, while Ḥanafī rulings manifest a comparatively stronger emphasis on the analogy between marriage and worship. Finally, we discuss how these differences in emphases may help explain the schools’ other divergent rulings on annulments.

Abstract:
The purpose of this article is to determine the use of translation strategies and the assessment of translation quality in the translation of the Arabic-Indonesian book of Bidāyatul-Hidāyah. The descriptive qualitative research method was used in this study. The data in this study are sentences containing moral values from the book Bidāyatul-Hidāyah and its Indonesian translation. Data were gathered using two methods: listening and recording, as well as a questionnaire. Based on an analysis of 60 data points, three types of translation strategies were identified: syntactic translation strategies (62.8%), semantic translation strategies (8.3%), and pragmatic translation strategies (28.9%). The translation quality assessment results are classified as less accurate, less acceptable, and medium readability, with a final average score of 2.58.
