Abstract:
Background. In terms of personality, medical challenges consist in a wide spectrum of interindividual differences which impose a high level of creativity in order to face and overpass these daily challenges. Thus, clinical communication was proven to be strongly related to creativity. Aim. The aim of this study was to compare personality traits in both medical students and young residents. Material and methods. We performed a correlational, cross-sectional study on residents and students from clinical years (years IV to VI) of “George Emil Palade” University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Sciences and Technology, Targu Mures between July 2021 and December 2021, who agreed to answer both BWAS and DECAS scales in order to assess their creativity and personality traits. Results. In terms of residents, we found a significant positive correlation between Openness and Extraversion (r = 0.6742, p < 0.0001), a negative correlation between Openness and Agreeability (r = -0.4601, p = 0.0138), a negative correlation with Agreeability (r = -0.4088, p = 0.0308) and a significant positive correlation between Conscientiousness and BWAS revised Scale (r = 0.4192, p = 0.0264). Contrariwise, we observed a negative significant correlation between Agreeability and Creativity since we found negative correlations between Agreeability and both BWAS Original Scale (r = -0.4132, p = 0.0289), and BWAS Revised Scale (r = -0.4637, p = 0.0129). For the students from the clinical years we observed a significant negative correlation with both Conscientiousness (r = -0.2681, p=0.0401) and Agreeability (r = -0.3883, p=0.0024) in term of Extraversion, a negative correlation with Extraversion (r = -0.2681, p=0.0401) and a significant positive correlation between Openness and BWAS revised Scale (r = 0.2803, p = 0.0315). We found a significant difference for BWAS original scale, p < 0.0001 and for BWAS revised scale, p < 0.0001, and extraversion, p = 0.0130, suggesting that students express a higher creativity level when compared to residents. Conclusions. Personality traits and communication skills in health-care providers represent two mandatory conditions for an effective doctor-patient relationship. Our study revealed a higher BWAS scores in students suggesting that students have a higher creativity level when compared to residents. In addition, our study suggests that residents with increased Openness might associate a higher level of Extraversion and a lower level of Agreeability. We also noticed that students with an increased level of Openness seem to be more creative.

Abstract:
ObjectiveTo evaluate four foods in women with hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) on their agreeability and tolerability.DesignProspective, randomised, within-subject cross-over trial.SettingSingle-centre, tertiary, university hospital in Malaysia.Participants72 women within 24-hour of first admission for HG who were 18 years or above, with confirmed clinical pregnancy of less than 16 weeks’ gestation were recruited and analysed. Women unable to consume food due to extreme symptoms, known taste or swallowing disorder were excluded.InterventionsEach participant chewed and swallowed a small piece of apple, watermelon, cream cracker and white bread in random order and was observed for 10 min after each tasting followed by a 2 min washout for mouth rinsing and data collection.Outcome measuresPrimary outcome was food agreeability scored after 10 min using an 11-point 0–10 Visual Numerical Rating Scale (VNRS). Nausea was scored at baseline (prior to tasting) and 2 and 10 min using an 11-point VNRS. Intolerant responses of gagging, heaving and vomiting were recorded.ResultsOn agreeability scoring, apple (mean±SD 7.2±2.4) ranked highest followed by watermelon (7.0±2.7) and crackers (6.5±2.6), with white bread ranked lowest (6.0±2.7); Kruskal-Wallis H test, p=0.019. Apple had the lowest mean nausea score and mean rank score, while white bread had the highest at both 2 and 10 min; the Kruskal-Wallis H test showed a significant difference only at 10 min (p=0.019) but not at 2 min (p=0.29) in the ranking analyses. The intolerant (gagged, heaved or vomited) response rates within the 10 min study period were apple 3/72 (4%), watermelon 7/72 (10%), crackers 8/72 (11%) and white bread 12/72 (17%): χ2 test for trend p=0.02.ConclusionSweet apple had the highest agreeability score, the lowest nausea severity and intolerance–emesis response rate when tasted by women with HG. White bread consistently performed worst.

Abstract:
The aim of this study was to assess the level of creativity and personality traits and their mutual influence on medical students using the DECAS and BWAS. We performed a prospective descriptive study on 119 medical students from Târgu Mureș, Romania between November 2020 and July 2021, who answered questions relating to the BWAS and DECAS scales to evaluate their creativity and personality traits. Our findings pointed out a reverse correlation between age and both the original and revised BWAS (r = −0.2037, p = 0.0263; r = −0.1931, p = 0.0354). In terms of extraversion, we found a significant positive correlation for both openness (r = 0.3032, p = 0.0008) and emotional stability (r = 0.2868, p = 0.0016) and a negative correlation between extraversion and agreeability (r = −0.2394, p = 0.0087). Regarding creativity, we found positive correlations between emotional stability and both the original and revised BWAS (r = 0.20, p = 0.0279; r = 0.20, p = 0.0245). Medical students’ creativity might be positively influenced by emotional stability and seems to decrease with age. Higher extraversion scores could be related to increased openness and emotional stability as well as decreased agreeability.

Abstract:
Background: Almonds are healthy nutraceuticals, which vary across different cultivars. We compared the composition, agreeability and gastrointestinal effects of two almond cultivars from different areas. Methods: Californian Carmel (CAcv) and local Apulian Filippo Cea (FCcv) cultivars were compared for the chemical composition and sensory evaluation according to visual analogue and semiquantitative scales in 60 volunteers. Gallbladder/gastric motility (ultrasonography) and orocecal transit time (H2-breath test) were studied in another 24 subjects by comparing the effects of a standard liquid test meal with isovolumetric almond test meals (24 g of CAcv or FCcv almonds). Results: Proteins prevailed in CAcv, while FCcv contained more lipids and 10-times more total phenol content than CAcv. For agreeability, CAcv scored higher than FCcv for smell, texture and appearance, although different perceptions existed in lean (scores for smell, taste, texture, appearance higher for CAcv than FCcv), obese (CAcv better than FCcv only for appearance) and elderly subjects (CAcv better than FCcv only for texture). Gallbladder emptying was stronger with FCcv than CAcv. Antral dilatation after ingestion of both cultivars was greater than the dilatation observed after the test meal. Gastric emptying, however, was similar after FCcv, CAcv and the test meal. The orocecal transit time in response to both cultivars was shorter than after the test meal. Conclusions: Differences in composition and effects of FCcv and CAcv cultivars support their potential use as valuable nutraceutical tools, to be confirmed in further clinical studies.

Abstract:
AbstractPersonality traits, especially in sport are modulatory factors of athletes’ behavior – his/ her conscientiousness, the will to achieve an aim, perseverance and motivation of activity. Not only are biological predispositions related to anatomical or biochemical traits of success, but they are also largely determined by personality traits that result from genetic factors. In our research we joined tests of athlete’s personality in correlation with genotypes of the dopamine transporter (DAT1) gene polymorphism. The selection of this polymorphism was based on previous reports connecting the influence of dopamine with motivation and numerous arguments supporting its correlation with human behavior. We observed significant differences among polymorphisms DAT 9/9, 9/10, 10/10 in terms of proportion of particular genotypes between athletes and the control group. We also found significant differences in the NEO FFI sten scale for conscientiousness. We noticed that anxiety was related with genotypic variants of DAT1, specifically the 9/10 VNTR variant, which conditioned lower levels of anxiety in the group of tested athletes. By contrast, the lower sten value of agreeability was statistically significant for the group of athletes that were carriers of the 10/10 VNTR genotype. Heterozygous 9/10 VNTR among athletes showed lower levels of anxiety in comparison with the control group, whereas agreeability determined using the NEO FFI scale represented a lower value among athletes that had the 10/10 polymorphism. We may thus conclude that the presence of polymorphic variants of the dopamine transporter gene corresponds to athletes’ personality traits.

We consider preemptive and nonpreemptive scheduling of partially ordered tasks on parallel processors, where the precedence relations have an intervalorder, an in-forest, or a uniform out-forest structure. Processing times of tasks are random variables with an increasing in likelihood ratio distribution in the nonpreemptive case and an exponential distribution in the preemptive case. We consider a general cost that is a function of time and of the uncompleted tasks and show that the most successors (MS) policy stochastically minimizes the cost function when it satisfies certain agreeability conditions. A consequence is that the MS policy stochastically minimizes makespan, weighted flowtime, and the weighted number of late jobs.

Abstract:
Abstract Objective To detect unusual infusion alerting patterns using machine learning (ML) algorithms as a first step to advance safer inpatient intravenous administration of high-alert medications. Materials and Methods We used one year of detailed propofol infusion data from a hospital. Interpretable and clinically relevant variables were feature engineered, and data points were aggregated per calendar day. A univariate (maximum times-limit) moving range (mr) control chart was used to simulate clinicians' common approach to identifying unusual infusion alerting patterns. Three different unsupervised multivariate ML-based anomaly detection algorithms (Local Outlier Factor, Isolation Forest, and k-Nearest Neighbors) were used for the same purpose. Results from the control chart and ML algorithms were compared. Results The propofol data had 3,300 infusion alerts, 92% of which were generated during the day shift and seven of which had a times-limit greater than 10. The mr-chart identified 15 alert pattern anomalies. Different thresholds were set to include the top 15 anomalies from each ML algorithm. A total of 31 unique ML anomalies were grouped and ranked by agreeability. All algorithms agreed on 10% of the anomalies, and at least two algorithms agreed on 36%. Each algorithm detected one specific anomaly that the mr-chart did not detect. The anomaly represented a day with 71 propofol alerts (half of which were overridden) generated at an average rate of 1.06 per infusion, whereas the moving alert rate for the week was 0.35 per infusion. Discussion These findings show that ML-based algorithms are more robust than control charts in detecting unusual alerting patterns. However, we recommend using a combination of algorithms, as multiple algorithms serve a benchmarking function and allow researchers to focus on data points with the highest algorithm agreeability. Conclusion Unsupervised ML algorithms can assist clinicians in identifying unusual alert patterns as a first step toward achieving safer infusion practices.

Abstract:
The Taq1A polymorphism located in the ANKK1 gene is one of the most widely studied polymorphisms in regards to the genetics of behavior and addiction. The aim of our study was to analyze this polymorphism with regard to personality characteristics and anxiety measured by means of the Personality Inventory—(NEO Five-Factor Inventory—NEO—FFI) and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) in polysubstance addicted subjects. The study group consisted of 600 male volunteers, including 299 addicted subjects and 301 controls. Psychiatrists recruited members for both groups. Addiction was diagnosed in the case group. In the control group mental illness was excluded. The same psychometric test and genotyping using the real-time PCR (polymerase chain reaction) method was performed for both groups. The results were investigated by means of multivariate analysis of the main effects Multi-factor ANOVA. Significantly higher scores on the scale of STAI state and Neuroticism and Openness traits, as well as lower scores on the scales of Extraversion, Agreeability, and Conscientiousness, were found in the case group subjects, compared to the controls. Differences in frequency of genotypes and alleles of Taq1A polymorphism between the studied groups were not found. Multi-factor ANOVA of addicted subjects and control subjects and the ANKK1 Taq1A variant interaction approximated the statistical significance for the STAI state. The main effects ANOVA of both subjects’ groups were found for the STAI state and trait, the Neuroticism scale, the Extraversion scale, and the Agreeability scale. The ANKK1 Taq1A main effects approximated the statistical significance of the STAI trait. Our study shows not only differences in personality traits between addicted and non-addicted subjects, but also the possible impact of ANKK1 on given traits and on addiction itself.

Abstract:
Universities and educational institutions are currently becoming more dependent on delivering courses within online virtual worlds, such as 3D Virtual Learning Environments (3D VLES). There is insufficient research on how environmental and architectural design elements of 3D virtual educational spaces and buildings inside these virtual worlds can affect the e-learning process of the students and their satisfaction and contentment. This study investigates students’ satisfaction from different architectural features used in 3D educational facilities by recording, from surveys, students’ degree of agreeability toward varied design characteristics in different learning spaces within 3D VLES. Defining best perceived design traits can improve 3D educational space design to augment a student’s overall e-learning experience, and lead to general design guidelines for future creation of 3D virtual educational facilities.

Objective: There has been a surge in videoconferencing technology use in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. RANZCP registrars engaged in the Psychotherapy Written Case are met with new challenges in navigating the psychodynamic processes that can occur when transitioning from in-person to videoconferencing psychotherapy. There is also a myriad of videoconferencing platforms to choose from. Conclusion: It has become necessary to adapt our clinical practice to the current COVID-19 pandemic and physical distancing regulations. The literature recognises videoconferencing psychotherapy as a valid therapeutic medium which can facilitate healthy psychological maturation, but there are theoretical drawbacks. A transition to videoconferencing psychotherapy requires patient agreeability, consistency and reflection upon patient–therapist dynamics; this will aide in the Psychotherapy Written Case submission. Registrars must balance usability, digital security and patient preferences when choosing videoconferencing platforms.

AbstractSeventeenth-century English common lawyer Sir John Davies sets forth, in his Irish Reports, a provocative and interesting argument on the nature of custom and its relation to the common law. This relatively unexplored argument shows how actions may emerge from conditions of liberty and slowly acquire qualities of social benefit and agreeability that are essential if the common law is to be identified with custom. Davies not only provides a coherent account of how custom might possess some reasonability, but he also seems to suggest that custom is unintended, thereby anticipating a theme found in eighteenth-century thinkers such as Mandeville, Hume, Ferguson, and Burke. In addition, Davies's account has important implications for political theory: the priority of the social over the political and a notion of political consent that arises via custom itself.

Abstract Much of the research on affiliation to date has focused on how people do (dis)affiliation. This paper explores the remedial work that follows instances of disaffiliation between interactants who are getting acquainted. Building on an interactional pragmatics analytical approach informed by methods and research in conversation analysis, findings indicate that extended remedial accounts recurrently follow moments of disaffiliation in initial interactions. These remedial accounts enable participants to reposition a prior disaffiliative stance as (ostensibly) affiliative. It appears in initial interactions, then, that remedial accounts play an important role in modulating troubles in affiliating. We propose that the considerable interactional work undertaken by these participants to modulate such troubles reflects a general preference for agreeability in initial interactions, at least amongst (Australian and British) speakers of English.

There are several physical parameters that are taken into consideration when determining the level of agreeability of an enclosed space. For instance, when choosing the louvers for a room there are a multitude of criteria that might be considered such as colour, material or the degree of opacity. However, these apparently small fixtures may have a significant impact also on other apparently unimportant factors like the sound pressure level and the reverberation time. This paper aims to present different types of devices used to control the way daylight enters a room, from both the illuminance level and the acoustical point of view. During the experimental campaign, five of the most common types of louvers were examined regarding their main role of blocking the light and moreover their influence on the reverberation time and sound pressure level in the analysed chamber.

This study aims to model job burnout based on job exhaustion and personality traits among the employees. Burnout is a problem caused by workplace tensions. The present research was conducted on 100 employees. The statistical population of the research consisted of all the employees. For field data collection, the Maslach Burnout Inventory, developed by Maslach and Jackson, and NEO personality inventory were used. For data analysis, descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (correlation and regression) along with SPSS software were employed. The present research hypothesises that there is a significant relationship between job burnout based on job performance, job exhaustion and personality traits among the employees. According to findings, mental exercise, improving psychological satisfaction and experiential freshness can increase conscientiousness and agreeability and decrease neuroticism, which eventually leads to lower burnout. Efficient and effective viral detection methodologies are a critical piece in the global response to COVID-19, with PCR-based nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swab testing serving as the current gold standard. With over 100 million confirmed cases globally, the supply chains supporting these PCR testing efforts are under a tremendous amount of stress, driving the need for innovative and accurate diagnostic solutions. Herein, the utility of a direct-to-PCR method of SARS-CoV-2 detection grounded in mechanical homogenization is examined for reducing resources needed for testing while maintaining a comparable sensitivity to the current gold standard workflow of nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swab testing. In a head-to-head comparison of 30 patient samples, this initial clinical validation study of the proposed homogenization-based workflow demonstrated significant agreeability with the current extraction-based method utilized while cutting the total resources needed in half.

Abstract:
Li-Nickel ferrites with the chemical formula () have been prepared by the ceramic method. The spinel structure in homogenous state was realized by X-ray diffraction analysis. The lattice parameter has been determined for each composition and found to be nearly constant over the whole range of Ni concentration (= 0.83 nm ± 0.01). The cation distribution for each composition has been suggested. The experimental and theoretical lattice constants were found to be in good agreement with each other confirming the agreeability of the suggested cation distribution. The analysis of IR spectra indicates the presence of splitting in the absorption band due to the presence of small amounts of Fe2+ ions in the ferrite system. The force constants for tetrahedral and octahedral sites have been determined. Young’s modulus (E), rigidity modulus (G), bulk modulus (B), Debye temperature (), and transverse () and longitudinal () wave velocities have been determined. The variation of elastic moduli with composition has been interpreted in terms of binding forces between the atoms of spinal lattice.

Abstract:
Introduction The study analyzes the accuracy and agreeability in evaluating hyperactivity in children. Material and methods The study sample was made of 139 children of pre-school age who participated in organized forms of physical activity. The mean age in the sample was 6.38, with a standard deviation of 1.00 years. Conner's Rating Scale was used to measure hyperactivity, and tests were also conducted to evaluate attention levels. Four independent reviewers observed each child's behavior by completing the scale. Results and discussion Eighteen children, or 13.5 percent of the sample, were identified as hyperactive in the analysis. These children also scored lower in the attention level tests. The results of the study show a correlation between the evaluators to be relatively high, bearing in mind the sources' independence. Conclusion It can be concluded that there is a mid to high-level correlation between certain reviewers' evaluations. However, even with a clearly defined view on categorizing certain behaviors as problematic, category labels still differ among evaluators.

Abstract:
Rasch Analysis suggested the Lakaev Academic Stress Response Scale-1 (LASRS-1) would benefit from refinement by the addition of items and changes to the wording of other items. It was named the LASRS-2 and contained Four Domains (Affective, Behavioral, Cognitive, and Physiological). Rasch Model Analysis tested construct validity and internal reliability on a population of tertiary (university or college) level students ( n = 2,000). Good person separation and item reliability estimates provided evidence that this tool was a reliable measure of academic stress. A Principal Component Analysis (PCA) of Rasch residuals showed the scale to be unidimensional. The results confirmed confidence in the replicability of scores due to sufficient item separation, agreeability, and that scores formed a continuum. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was used as a secondary check to support findings of Rasch Modeling outcomes. The LASRS-2 was shown to be a valid and reliable psychometric tool that measured academic stress.

Abstract:
Development of an addiction is conditioned by many factors. The dopaminergic system has been shown to be the key element in this process. In this paper, we analyzed the influence of dopamine receptor 2 polymorphism rs1076560 in two groups—polysubstance-dependent male patients (n = 299) and the controls matched for age (n = 301). In both groups, we applied the same questionnaires for testing—Mini-international neuropsychiatric interview, the NEO Five-Factor Inventory, and the State–Trait Anxiety Inventory. The real-time PCR method was used for genotyping. When we compared the controls with the case group subjects, we observed significantly higher scores in the second group on both the state and trait scales of anxiety, as well as on the Neuroticism and Openness scales of the NEO-FFI; and lower scores on the scales of Extraversion and Agreeability of the NEO-FFI. The model 2 × 3 factorial ANOVA of the addicted subjects and controls was performed, and the DRD2 rs1076560 variant interaction was found for the anxiety state and trait scales, and for the NEO-FFI Neuroticism scale. The observed associations allow noticing that analysis of psychological factors in combination with genetic data opens new possibilities in addiction research.

AbstractObjective: This study investigated whether differences exist in the structural personality dimensions and eighteen maladaptive cognitive schemas among in- and out-patients (Clinical Group) diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and people from the general population without any psychiatric diagnostic (Control Group). Methods: The Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) sample (N = 100) included 35 (35%) men and 65 (65%) women, with a mean age of 36.4 years (SD = 10.86; age range 18-69). The control sample (N = 100), included 28 (28%) men and 72 (72%) women, with a mean age of 27.1 years (SD = 9.8; age range 19-60). Data were simultaneously analyzed with one-way multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) to measure the effect of group membership on personality dimensions and on dysfunctional cognitive schemas, controlling for participants' age. Next, univariate analyses of covariance (ANCOVAs) were done on each item with covariate-adjusted post-hoc comparisons. Results: The results indicate that the Clinical Group participants had unfavorable scores on all five personality dimensions (i.e., Openness, Extraversion; Conscientiousness; Agreeability; and Emotional Stability - Neuroticism) and for almost all of the dysfunctional cognitive schemas in comparison with participants in the Control Group. Conclusions: These results have general implications in understanding Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) clients and their personality characteristic's profile and dysfunctional/maladaptive cognitive schemas.

Abstract:
The present work aims to elaborate many juice formulas (F1 to F8) from two dried fruits (jujubes: Ziziphus lotus L. and dates: Phoenix dactylifera L.). Physicochemical and biochemical characterization of the formula juices shows that juices rich in dates fruits (F1, F3, F5, and F7) are loaded, on average, in total sugars (129.5 g/l), proteins (3.02 g/l), lipids (1.08 g/l), and carotenoid (0.02 mg/l), while juices rich in jujube fruits (F2, F4, F6, and F8) are overloaded, on average, in phenolic compounds (697 mg/l), flavonoids (6.32 mg/l), condensed tannins (2.1 mg/l), hydrolysable tannins (359.5 mg/l), and viscosity (1.062 mm 10–3 s). All formulations developed have a pH that rotates between 5.12 and 5.20. Total antioxidant capacity (CAT) reveals that formulations F1, F3, F5, and F7 show a strong activity compared to the other formulas. The DPPH test shows that all formulated juices have the same antioxidant profile with IC50 values lower than the template (BHT and Vit C). The FRAP test reveals that F2, F4, F6, and F8 formulas have a strong reducing power. Organoleptic evaluation by a jury shows that F4 formula is the best in terms of odor, aroma, and aftertaste agreeability.

Abstract:
People’s perceptions of climate change represent a growing concern, especially when these perceptions entail the denial of climate change. Past studies have highlighted the detrimental role of conspiracist beliefs concerning climate change regarding people’s perceptions on this matter. However, the effects of generic conspiracy beliefs and the different types of beliefs determining skepticism about climate change, as well as that of an individual’s personality, are still an open area of inquiry. Our cross-sectional study (N = 842) explored the relationships between the degree to which people hold different generic conspiracy beliefs, their personality characteristics (as defined within the Big Five taxonomy), and climate change beliefs (i.e., in its occurrence and anthropogenic causation). Results indicated common predictors of these dimensions of climate change beliefs, specifically three of the five types of generic conspiracy beliefs, extraversion, agreeability, and intellect/imagination as personality factors. While conspiracy beliefs related to personal well-being emerged as related to climate change skepticism, those in government malfeasance and information control were found to be associated with more acceptance of climate change and its anthropogenic causation. These findings reveal a mixed pattern of relationships between different conspiracist beliefs and climate change perceptions and suggest the complex psychological and ideological underpinnings of the attitudes towards climate change.

Abstract:
We performed a comprehensive study encompassing chemical characterization and sensory evaluation of two types of dark chocolate, i.e., artisanal (Choco-A) and industrial (Choco-I), as well as an evaluation of onset of gastrointestinal symptoms and gastrointestinal motility in healthy subjects fed with dark chocolate. Proteomic, lipid and metabolite analysis were performed by LC-MS/MS analysis and the total phenol content and antioxidant activity were estimated in both types of chocolate. Fifty healthy volunteers joined the study of the sensory characteristics of both types of chocolate; another 16 subjects underwent the study of gallbladder and gastric emptying by functional ultrasonography and orocecal transit time by lactulose H2-breath test after ingestion of dark chocolate. Identification of polyphenols, amino acids and fatty acids was carried out in both types of chocolate analysed, and results confirmed their richness in polyphenols, amino acid derivatives and fatty acids (FAs) either saturated (stearic, myristic, palmitic, ecosanoic) or unsaturated (oleic and linolenic). For agreeability, Choco-A scored higher than Choco-I for smell, texture, and taste and they did not show significant differences in the gastrointestinal motility. In conclusion as for gastrointestinal motility studies, we report that the ingestion of a small amount of chocolate induced a mild gallbladder, gastric contraction and a fast transit time compared to the test meal in healthy subjects.

Abstract:
Many factors are involved in addiction. The dopaminergic system is thought to be the key element in this process. The mesolimbic dopamine system is a crucial element in the reward system. Changes in this system are thought to be leading to substance use disorders and dependence. Therefore, for our study we chose an analysis of two polymorphisms in genes (Variable Number of Tandem Repeats in DRD4 and DAT1) responsible for dopaminergic transmission, which might be implicated in the scores of personality traits measured by the NEO-FFI test. The study group consisted of 600 male volunteers—299 addicted subjects and 301 controls. Both groups were recruited by psychiatrists; in the case group addiction was diagnosed; in the controls a mental illness was excluded. In both groups the same psychometric test and genotyping by the PCR VNTR method were performed. The results were investigated by a multivariate analysis of the main effects ANOVA. In the presented study no DRD4 main effects were found for any of the analyzed traits but the DRD4 main effects approximated to the statistical significance for the extraversion scale. However, no DAT1 main effects were found for any of the analyzed traits but the DAT1 main effects approximated to the statistical significance for the agreeability scale. These associations open new possibilities for addiction research.

Abstract:
Objective. While administration of intravenous tissue plasminogen activator (IV-tPA) is the standard of care in acute ischemic stroke and has been shown to have statistically significant benefit, there can also be potentially life-threatening complications; however, there is no standard informed consent approach. The purpose of this study was to present a parental, technical, and general model of informed consent for IV-TPA and to determine which approach was preferred. Methods. Survey respondents were asked to hypothetically decide whether or not to provide consent for their family member to receive IV-tPA. Respondents were presented with 3 informed consent models: one emphasizing parental qualities, one emphasizing statistical data, and one representing a general consent statement. After being presented each model, the respondents had to select their preferred consent model, as well as rate their level of agreeability toward their family member receiving the medication following each approach. Results. The results of 184 surveys showed respondents were equally as likely to give consent for their family member to receive IV-TPA following all three approaches; however, respondents were significantly more likely to prefer the parental approach compared to a technical or general approach. Conclusion. Our results indicate that while paternalism is generally discouraged in the medical community, some degree of parental language may be preferred by patients in tough decision-making situations toward consent to receive medical interventions.

Abstract- To evaluate impulse buying behaviour in consumers and how confidence moderates the variables being tested, which is an interesting phenomenon considering the fact that personal values and perceptions dictate each and every individual’s behaviour as a consumer. This research paper attempts to elaborate consumer behaviour of individuals who purchase on impulse through social comparison, materialistic tendencies, negative affectivity, and confidence levels of individuals. This research topic is relatively new as there hasn’t been any study done which examines impulse buying in Indonesian citizens with the following variables that have been conducted in Vietnam, let alone conducted under post Covid-19 conditions. The data gathered was obtained through a Google Forms questionnaire in which respondents had to use the Likert Scale to rate the agreeability of each statement. The data was compiled and processed using Smart-PLS 4 software. This research showed that social comparison and materialism positively impacted impulse buying but negative affect did not. Furthermore, confidence moderated the relationship between social comparison and impulse buying but did not moderate the relationship between impulse buying and social comparison. It can be concluded that everyone is unique in terms of behaviour and mindset which may benefit marketers to develop effective marketing strategies to induce purchasing behaviours. This research may also act as a reminder for consumers to spend wisely. Keywords: Impulse Buying; Social Comparison; Materialism; Negative Affect; Confidence

The study investigated the quality of emulsions containing rabbit fat modified with vegetable oil. The modification of the fat and introducing it as a fatty base into the emulsion was dictated by consumer preferences. Emulsion systems containing various fatty bases and viscosity modifier contents were evaluated in the terms of their stability (by means of Turbiscan test), texture properties, color, and viscosity. Moreover, the emulsions were assessed by a sensory panel in the context of the intensity of the following parameters: color, fragrance, consistency, greasiness, and hydration. The same characteristics were also subject to consumer evaluation. The results of the sensory assessment showed the sensory panel attributed higher scores to consistency and skin hydration to the emulsions formed with modified fats; these systems were more appreciated by consumers as well. The results confirmed a major role of sensory determinations in the development of new emulsion products. They also provide knowledge on modifications to product characteristics that would lead to the best possible quality and consumer acceptance. This research has also reaffirmed that looking for new fats among waste fats is becoming a solution to finding new fatty bases for emulsions. The natural origin of these components, and thus their agreeability with the human body, appear noteworthy as well. Enrichment with unsaturated fatty acids is an added advantage of the enzymatic modification of rabbit fat with pumpkin seed oil and can be applied not only for food but also for skin applications.

Abstract A numerical study was conducted with a 3D steady state Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) model using k-ω SST at SATP conditions for air. The mesh geometry is based on a S833 airfoil with a trailing edge flap to predict the lift and moment loads. This airfoil is representative of a wind turbine blade. A set of static CFD simulation cases were conducted with a free stream velocity of 29 m/s at an angle of attack (α) between -4° and 20°. A trailing edge flap is also present on the airfoil which was operated between an angle (αf) of -20° and 20°. The airfoil has a chord of 178 mm with the trailing edge flap covering 20% of the length and chord-based Reynolds number of 350,000. The CFD results were compared against an experimental study performed in a closed-loop wind tunnel at the University of Waterloo. The wind tunnel has a contraction ratio of 9:1 and a cross section of 0.61 m square. The experimental data showed that lift forces increased at a larger angle of attack and larger downward flap angle up until stall. Moment on the blade is relatively constant regardless of the angle of attack, however, increases significantly with upward flap angle. The CFD results showed very similar results in both the lift and moment coefficient, with all angle configurations having over 90% agreeability excluding α near +/- 20°.

Abstract:
Context: With the current and projected shortage of palliative care (PC) specialists, an integrative model of PC will be needed to meet the needs of patients in intensive care units (ICUs). Prior studies of PC interventions suggest that success depends upon meeting the needs of individual institutions or ICUs. Objective: The objective of this study was to qualitatively explore the beliefs and practices of one institution’s medical ICU (MICU) physicians in regard to providing an integrative model of PC. Methods: This qualitative study used semistructured interviews of 17 physicians within a Department of Allergy, Pulmonary, and Critical Care Medicine at one large academic hospital. Interviews were conducted, transcribed, and coded according to qualitative research methods. Selected interviews were tested for interrater reliability and negotiated agreeability. Results: All critical care physicians interviewed affirmed that providing PC was part of their job, and the majority expressed that providing PC gave them professional or personal satisfaction. Physicians also identified many ways that PC consultants enhance patient care in the MICU. They discussed several motivations for obtaining a PC consult, with the most frequently acknowledged motivation being lack of time. Conclusion: Developing an integrative model of PC in the ICU ought to take into account both studied interventions shown likely to be effective in the ICU setting and the specific needs and barriers to PC in that unit. This study demonstrates one way that needs and barriers can be identified and provides important findings that might be applicable to other institutions.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to clarify the relationship between an individual investor’s personality trait and his perceived investment performance. It proposes a novel conceptual framework that integrates social influence (as a moderating construct) and outlines the role of personality in determining the perceived investment performance during the investment decision-making process. Design/methodology/approach A questionnaire-based survey was conducted to collect responses from 396 individual investors through stratified and quota sampling approach. The collected data were then analysed using both hierarchical regression analysis and structural equation modelling to evaluate the strength of the relationship between the constructs, namely, personality trait, perceived investment performance and social influence. Findings This study suggests that social influence positively moderates the relationship between extraversion-perceived investment performance, whereas it negatively moderates the relationship between agreeability-perceived investment performance. Research limitations/implications This study has certain limitations. First, this work follows a modelling approach which is more centred towards the prediction of relationships. Second, because of choosing a research approach (since the study has been conducted in one country, i.e. India), the results of the study may lack generalisability. Therefore, further studies could be encouraged to test the proposed hypotheses. Practical implications Insights from this study suggest that investors should look in for their personality traits while making an investment decision. In fact, psychologically modified portfolios should be developed as per the personality traits of the investors. Originality/value The study, perhaps, is the only study to apply social influence in a framework using Big Five personality traits as a possible factor to understand the individual differences in terms of perceived investment performance.

Abstract:
11030 Background: The lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community experiences cancer health disparities. It is thus imperative that medical trainees receive training in the care of LGBTQ populations. Identifying gaps in trainees’ knowledge and comfort in providing care for this population is important in preparing future physicians. Methods: A Likert-scale survey of US medical students at three institutions assessed attitudes, comfort and knowledge in providing care for LGBTQ patients. Results were quantified with descriptive and stratified analyses. Exploratory factor analysis found four factors in which attitude summary measure (ASM) scores were calculated; lower values indicate more agreeability with given attitude items. Total knowledge scores were calculated with higher values indicating greater knowledge. Results: Of 300 medical students who completed the survey, the majority were female (55.7%), white (54.7%), and heterosexual (64.3%). The majority of students felt comfortable (strongly agree/agree) participating in the care of patients who identify as lesbian (94.3%), gay (96.0%), and bisexual (96.3%); this percentage dropped to 82.3% for non-binary and 71.3% for transgender patients. Only 27.0% of students reported confidence in their knowledge of health needs of transgender patients. LGBTQ self-identification, percent of core rotations completed, and having LGBTQ friends/family were significantly associated with various ASM subscales (Table 1). Knowledge questions had high percentages of “neutral” responses, and students who identified as LGBTQ had significantly higher total knowledge scores. Conclusions: Overall, medical students feel comfortable and willing to provide care for LGBTQ patients. However, as in our prior study in oncologists, there is limited knowledge about specific LGBTQ health and cancer needs. More education and training in the needs of transgender and non-binary patients is indicated. [Table: see text]

Abstract:
This paper analyzes the word chɔ̂ɔp in Thai, which normally signifies three different meanings, namely ‘to be right’, ‘to like’ and ‘often’. The result of the analysis shows that it is more likely that the polysemy of chɔ̂ɔp arises from pragmatic motivation. Pragmatic motivation, which covers factors such as speakers’ attitude, intention, point of view, behavior and social standing, can affect actual use of language. Pragmatically, the word chɔ̂ɔp that means ‘to be right’ can easily lead to an action of agreement. In other words, when we regard something right; we tend to agree on it without argument. This attitude is related to another meaning of chɔ̂ɔp in the way that the degree of agreeability is strengthened into the meaning ‘to like’, or even ‘to love’ and ‘to enjoy’ sometimes. Also, when we like something, or even love and enjoy some activity, this kind of feeling can motivate us to do it again and again and thus we come to have a characteristic behavior. This typical behavior can consequently cause semantic features like [habitual] and [iterative] to occur. With the semantic feature [iterative], the word chɔ̂ɔp then has yet another meaning as ‘often’. This paper also discusses the grammaticalization of the word chɔ̂ɔp from a verb which means ‘to like’ into an adverb of frequency that means ‘often’ i.e. there is a change of word class or part of speech. It was found that there are many cases of chɔ̂ɔp that appear syntactically and semantically ambiguous, or, in other words they are in a transitional period of word class change. This paper indicates that such an ambiguity or incipient grammaticalization is motivated by the speaker’s attitude and point of view.

Abstract:
Abstract Students enrolled in a poultry science course were surveyed at the start and end of the semester in the first part of a multi-year study to quantify the effect of science-based education on opinion of the poultry industry. Students marked a vertical line on a 130mm horizontal line to indicate their level of agreement with 16 poultry issue statements. Surveys were collected anonymously using self-assigned code names in order to compare responses before and after taking the course. Post-survey, the 130mm line was separated into 5 sections; 0–20% agreeability was categorized as strongly disagree, 21–40% disagree, 41–60% neutral, 61–80% agree, and 81–100% strongly agree. Additionally, students were asked to answer three demographic questions regarding 1) Level of farm-animal experience (grew up on livestock farm, from an urban/city environment with no livestock experience, or other significant livestock experience), 2) Sex, and 3) Career goals (poultry industry, other livestock industry, or non-animal industry). Anonymous demographic data obtained from the office of the registrar showed that of the 29 students surveyed at the beginning of the semester: 8 were male, 21 were female, 23 were residents of Iowa, 6 were non-Iowa residents, 7 were agricultural studies majors, 21 were animal science majors, and one student was classified as a general undergraduate pre-vet major. Student responses were compared using the means procedure of SAS 9.4 based on answers to demographic questions (categorized as: farm, urban, other animal experience; female or male; poultry career, livestock career, or non-animal career). Results before science-based poultry education showed that responses on poultry issue statements (poultry welfare, industry ethics, commercial laying hen housing, and poultry product purchasing decisions) were significantly affected by experience, sex, and career plans (P < 0.05). Responses from the end of semester are forthcoming.

Abstract:
Background The reopening of schools during the COVID-19 pandemic has raised concerns about widespread infection and transmission of SARS-CoV-2 in educational settings. In June 2020, Public Health England (PHE) initiated prospective national surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 in primary schools across England (sKIDs). We used this opportunity to assess the feasibility and agreeability of large-scale surveillance and testing for SARS-CoV-2 infections in school among staff, parents and students. Methods Staff and students in 131 primary schools were asked to complete a questionnaire at recruitment and provide weekly nasal swabs for SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR testing (n = 86) or swabs with blood samples for antibody testing (n = 45) at the beginning and end the summer half-term. In six blood sampling schools, students were asked to complete a pictorial questionnaire before and after their investigations. Results In total, 135 children aged 4–7 years (n = 40) or 8–11 years (n = 95) completed the pictorial questionnaire fully or partially. Prior to sampling, oral fluid sampling was the most acceptable test (107/132, 81%) followed by throat swabs (80/134, 59%), nose swabs (77/132, 58%), and blood tests (48/130, 37%). Younger students were more nervous about all tests than older students but, after completing their tests, most children reported a “better than expected” experience with all the investigations. Students were more likely to agree to additional testing for nose swabs (93/113, 82%) and oral fluid (93/114, 82%), followed by throat swabs (85/113, 75%) and blood tests (72/108, 67%). Parents (n = 3,994) and staff (n = 2,580) selected a preference for weekly testing with nose swabs, throat swabs or oral fluid sampling, although staff were more flexible about testing frequency. Conclusions Primary school staff and parents were supportive of regular tests for SARS-CoV-2 and selected a preference for weekly testing. Children preferred nose swabs and oral fluids over throat swabs or blood sampling.

Abstract:
ObjectivesThe aim of this study was to determine if a gynecologic cancer patient’s comfort level discussing end-of-life care issues with her caregivers is related to her death anxiety level.Materials/MethodsGynecologic oncology clinic patients were asked to rate their degree of agreeability with 4 statements regarding comfort level discussing end-of-life care issues. Participants also completed the Hoge’s Intrinsic Religiosity Scale and Templer’s Death Anxiety Scale.ResultsFour hundred one surveys were distributed. One hundred twenty-nine patients participated, with a response rate of 32.2%. The median age of the sample was 55 years. Most patients were white (72.9%), married (58.9%), and Christian (85.3%). Most patients had ovarian cancer (40.4%). Of the 74 patients who knew their cancer stage, 59% had been diagnosed with advanced (stage III-IV) disease. Thirty-three percent were currently in remission, and 17% had recurrent disease. Of all patients surveyed, 32.6% were currently receiving treatment. Chemotherapy was the most common treatment (62% of those being treated). Higher level of comfort discussing end-of-life care topics such as do-not-resuscitate orders with family members was significantly associated with decreased death anxiety (P = 0.008 and P = 0.001). There was no significant association between comfort level when patients discussed do-not-resuscitate orders with physicians and patients’ death anxiety (P = 0.14). After controlling for age, race, marital status, education level, current treatment status, and religiosity, linear regression analysis demonstrated that the relationship between a patient’s increased comfort level when discussing end-of-life care topics with family members and decreased death anxiety remained statistically significant (P = 0.005 and P = 0.001).ConclusionsConversations regarding goals of treatment are an important component of caring for cancer patients. Death anxiety may contribute to decreased communication between patients and their family members regarding the patient’s end-of-life care wishes. Obtaining a better understanding of the role death anxiety plays in end-of-life care discussions may help patients receive the end-of-life care they desire.

"Rapid Transient Transcriptional Adaptation to Hypergravity in Jurkat T Cells Revealed by Comparative Analysis of Microarray and RNA-Seq Data." Abstract:
Cellular responses to micro- and hypergravity are rapid and complex and appear within the first few seconds of exposure. Transcriptomic analyses are a valuable tool to analyze these genome-wide cellular alterations. For a better understanding of the cellular dynamics upon altered gravity exposure, it is important to compare different time points. However, since most of the experiments are designed as endpoint measurements, the combination of cross-experiment meta-studies is inevitable. Microarray and RNA-Seq analyses are two of the main methods to study transcriptomics. In the field of altered gravity research, both methods are frequently used. However, the generation of these data sets is difficult and time-consuming and therefore the number of available data sets in this research field is limited. In this study, we investigated the comparability of microarray and RNA-Seq data and applied the results to a comparison of the transcriptomics dynamics between the hypergravity conditions during two real flight platforms and a centrifuge experiment to identify temporal adaptation processes. We performed a comparative study on an Affymetrix HTA2.0 microarray and a paired-end RNA-Seq data set originating from the same Jurkat T cell RNA samples from a short-term hypergravity experiment. The overall agreeability was high, with better sensitivity of the RNA-Seq analysis. The microarray data set showed weaknesses on the level of single upregulated genes, likely due to its normalization approach. On an aggregated level of biotypes, chromosomal distribution, and gene sets, both technologies performed equally well. The microarray showed better performance on the detection of altered gravity-related splicing events. We found that all initially altered transcripts fully adapted after 15 min to hypergravity and concluded that the altered gene expression response to hypergravity is transient and fully reversible. Based on the combined multiple-platform meta-analysis, we could demonstrate rapid transcriptional adaptation to hypergravity, the differential expression of the ATPase subunits ATP6V1A and ATP6V1D, and the cluster of differentiation (CD) molecules CD1E, CD2AP, CD46, CD47, CD53, CD69, CD96, CD164, and CD226 in hypergravity. We could experimentally demonstrate that it is possible to develop methodological evidence for the meta-analysis of individual data.

Abstract:
Analyzing Body Values in the Context of Postmodern Youth Education. A Comparative Study Between Italy, Latvia and RomaniaNowadays, research on the body and the values it embodies is considered fundamental in the research field of sport studies. There is a correlation between the choice of values preferred by youth and changes taking place in contemporary society. The postmodern society is a society in which body values prevail over all other ones; the type of body values dominant in a capitalist society are mostly those which are connected to the hedonistic, esthetic and emotional dimension of the body itself.Starting from this background, this study aims to draw the hierarchy of body values, focusing on sport sciences students at Italian, Latvian and Romanian universities, who will be future educators and professionals of body care and well-being in the European society, in order to understand their preferences and the possible cultural differences that can emerge from the three societies. To carry out the research, a randomized sample of 300 subjects - female and male students (100 per country) - attending first-, second- and third-year sport sciences courses at the University of Rome "Foro Italico", the Latvian Academy of Sport Education in Riga, and Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca were selected. The students' values hierarchy was obtained through a Likert-scale-based questionnaire adapted and translated into Italian, Latvian and Romanian. The aim of the questionnaire was to detect the level of agreeability or disagreeability shown by each student when presented with words regarding 10 main body values models: biological body; ecological body; instrumental body; dynamic/sporting body, emotional/social body; ethical body; esthetical body; religious body; intellectual body; pleasure body. The data obtained were statistically processed and compared. The results showed that the hierarchy of body values in young students of sports sciences is broadly in line with those of postmodern society and education, and that there are differences in the perception of values among students due to cultural differences and the traditions of the societies in which they live. The research also highlighted the need to develop a more effective moral education, one that focuses on ethics, in the curricula of the three universities studied.

Abstract:
This study focuses on the impact of common spiritual beliefs regarding metaphysical questions in agreeability with the practice of hastened death. A sample of 497 Portuguese medical students was collected. Differences between genders and religions, predictors for agreeability with hastened death and the association between spiritual beliefs and opinion towards hastened death cases were assessed. Respondents were mostly favourable to the practice of hastened death. Formal religious affiliation and higher levels of religiosity significantly associated with lesser agreeability with hastened death. Statistically significant association was found between every hastened death scenario and multiple of the spiritual beliefs used. A number of spiritual beliefs were predictors of agreeability. We discuss the implications of religion and spirituality in agreeability with hastened death. Further research is required to better understand the true weight of spirituality in one’s opinion towards this ethical dilemma.
