Abstract:
The issue of the relationships between anxiety and aggressiveness among Ukrainian women in war conditions has been dealt with in this article. The relevance of the chosen topic is beyond doubt, since social problems based on psychological factors are especially relevant during the war. It is substantiated that a change in the usual living conditions leads to a significant increase in anxiety and aggressiveness among women. In this paper, the attention is paid specifically to the study of anxiety and manifestation of aggressiveness by women who are in war conditions. It is worth noting that currently in the psychological and social literature, the number of publications about the problem of anxiety is increasing, since anxiety occupies a special place, as it often leads to a decrease in work capacity, productivity, difficulties in communication, etc. It has been found out that the level of anxiety can be manifested in the aggressive women’s behaviour in the war conditions. It is noted that the state of anxiety and aggressiveness is the most common phenomenon among women in war conditions. The results of the analysis and generalization of scientific sources are presented in this paper. It has been identified that the problem of anxiety and aggressiveness is one of the topical issues of modern psychology. The need for timely identification and work with the anxiety, anxious behaviour and aggressiveness of women in war conditions and after military aggression has been emphasized. The analysis of the questionnaire conducted among Ukrainian women in war conditions has been carried out, and the degree of their influence on women’s daily lives and life activities in war time has been determined. The purpose of this work is theoretical substantiation and empirical study of the specific of the relationships between anxiety and the manifestation of aggressive behaviour of Ukrainian women in war conditions. The object of this study is the anxiety of Ukrainian women in war conditions, whereas the subject of this study is the character of the relationship between anxiety and the manifestation of aggressiveness of Ukrainian women in war conditions. The conceptual hypothesis of this research lies in the assumption of the presence of significant relationship between anxiety and the manifestation of aggressiveness of Ukrainian women in war conditions, and it has been fully confirmed. Considering the influence of war conditions on the anxiety and aggressiveness of Ukrainian women, the relationship between the mentioned psychological categories has been claimed. It has been revealed that the state of anxiety can be manifested in the aggressive behaviour of women in war conditions. It is noted that the state of anxiety and aggressiveness is the most common phenomenon among women in war conditions. According to the results of this study, there have been identified those significant relationships between indicators of anxiety and certain forms of aggressiveness among Ukrainian women in war conditions. It is substantiated that the high level of manifestation of anxiety is caused by certain psychological features. It has been found out that the increase in the level of anxiety, indicators of family anxiety and anxious behaviour is associated with an increase in the level of aggressiveness of Ukrainian women. The practical significance lies in the fact that the obtained results can be used by employees of psychological services, practical psychologists during counselling at various stages of psychotherapeutic work with women in war conditions.

Abstract:
Purpose This paper aims to investigate the impact of women on the board of directors on corporate tax avoidance in Australia. Design/methodology/approach The authors use multivariate regression analysis to test the association between the presence of female directors on the board and tax aggressiveness. They also test for self-selection bias in the regression model by using the two-stage Heckman procedure. Findings This paper finds that relative to there being one female board member, high (i.e. greater than one member) female presence on the board of directors reduces the likelihood of tax aggressiveness. The results are robust after controlling for self-selection bias and using several alternative measures of tax aggressiveness. Research limitations/implications This study extends the extant literature on corporate governance and tax aggressiveness. This study is subject to several caveats. First, the sample is restricted to publicly listed Australian firms. Second, this study only examines the issue of women on the board of directors and tax aggressiveness in the context of Australia. Practical implications This research is timely, as there has been increased pressure by government bodies in Australia and globally to develop policies to increase female representation on the board of directors. Originality/value This study is the first to provide empirical evidence concerning the association between the presence of women on the board of directors and tax aggressiveness.

A group of 33 sportsmen and 43 sportswomen and a group of 488 subjects (less than 30 years old) selected from a sample of 816 subjects representative of the general Italian population were compared using the factor scores and total scores on the Italian version of the Buss and Durkee questionnaire. Analysis suggests a positive correlation between aggressiveness and sport and are compatible with the hypothesis that sporting activities serve as a means of controlling aggressiveness of women and help the individual psychosocial development of men. The decision to practice sports would seem to be connected with the needs to conform to cultural stereotypes, which portray the man as aggressive and the woman as gentle and submissive.

Abstract:
The purpose of the present study was to examine the relation of verbal aggressiveness and state anxiety (somatic, cognitive, and self-confidence) in sports settings based on the ratings by volleyball coaches and their athletes. The sample consisted of volleyball athletes ( n = 208; 98 men and 110 women) and their coaches ( n = 20; 16 men and 4 women). Analysis showed that male volleyball players rated somatic anxiety higher and were more affected by the verbal aggressiveness of their coaches than female volleyball players. No mean differences were significant for male and female coaches on somatic or cognitive anxiety, self-confidence, or verbal aggressiveness. Also, correlation between subscale scores for male and female volleyball players and coaches was found. The correlations of verbal aggressiveness with self-confidence and anxiety were positive for these athletes, leading them to better behavior. This relationship needs further examination in sport settings.

Abstract:
In Romania, the communist period brought about some serious damage to the image of the woman both at the society and at the family level, a fact that generated numerous social problems. Later on, the transition from socialism to capitalism was carried out with difficulty, and, in order to overcome the crisis situation (both social and familial) created, after 1989 the politicians preferred to “import” solutions without adapting them to the needs of the people, to its lifestyle and especially to the religion and culture of this nation. Moreover, domestic violence “continued its natural course”, still being considered a hidden problem, protected by the privacy of the family, by the institution of marriage and conceived as a thing that was allowed, accepted. Studies that should analyse the real status of this social problem were carried out only at national level, with more emphasis being laid on identifying the cases reported and solved and on the types of violence the victims were subjected to, but, unfortunately, the local or regional studies that should bring new and specific elements are very few. For this reason, the present survey tries to analyse the issues related to woman’s victimisation within an area lying in the south of Romania, namely in the Argeş County, by shaping a portrait of the woman from this area who presents a high risk of being abused and by identifying the cultural and structural barriers that prevent abuse and provide the means the victims need in order to be safe. The interviews carried out with the victims of domestic violence, as well as the analysis of their files, for a period of three years, render, in addition to the severity of the acts of violence and the trauma suffered, the authorities’ incapacity to manage this phenomenon which seems to become more and more present in Romanian households every single day that goes by.

Abstract:
In Bangladesh, the number of cyber-citizens has been skyrocketing since the 2010s. Violence against women is also proliferating along with the presence of Islam in public spheres and discourses. Using thematic analysis, this study analyzes the discourse data collected from Facebook, the dominant social media of Bangladesh. The key aim of the research is to find out the bedrock of Islamic vigilantism and verbal aggressiveness against women in social media. Subsequently, three interlinked themes have been explored: women’s religiosity, women’s attire, and women’s virtue. The findings have shown that men mainly capitalize on these three conventional and stereotyped ideas of popular Islam to conduct vigilantism against women in social media, which is most often accompanied by different types of verbal aggressiveness. Further, this study considering deep-rooted misogyny and patriarchy in Bangladesh society argues that these factors might have contributed to directing online vigilantism against women. As little research has been done in this area, this research study would lead to further researches in this area.

Abstract:
There has been a substantial amount of research on aggression in men's ice hockey. Although there is some research on aggression in women's ice hockey, there is still a noticeable absence of empirical research on various aspects of aggression. The purpose of this study was to investigate the prevalence and intent of aggressive behaviors in university women's ice hockey. Two methods of data acquisition were used: systematic observation (measured prevalence) and stimulated recall interviews (measured intent). Results revealed the presence of several aggressive techniques, such as body checking, punching, pushing, and cross checking. Several reasons for these aggressive behaviors emerged from the analysis, including frustration, intimidation, and protection. These findings augment the literature on aggression in women's ice hockey, providing insight on the prevalence as well as the mechanisms influencing aggressive behaviors.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to examine elite women's ice hockey, with particular emphasis on various aspects of aggression associated with the sport. A qualitative research methodology was employed. Participants included 4 coaches and 15 hockey players, from three elite levels of women's hockey. Each coach was interviewed using an in-depth open-ended format. Each athlete participated in a focus group interview. Commonalities emerged from the coach and athlete data, which resulted in the creation of three higher-order themes that were called (1) state of women's hockey, (2) coach and athlete issues, and (3) aggression in women's hockey. The data focused on the lives of those involved with the sport (coaches and athletes) and topics that were unique to women's ice hockey, including aggression. These results advance information concerning women's sport, coaching, and aggression in elite female athletics.

Abstract:
The present thesis and series of studies explores the underlying cognitive and neuropsychological processes that underlies propensity for aggressive response in adult men and women, both sober and intoxicated. Previous research demonstrated that poor executive functioning, either pre-existing (idiopathic) or induced by alcohol-intoxication, was associated with heightened aggressive responses. The first study demonstrates that although cognitively impaired when alcohol intoxicated, men with above average pre-alcohol Executive Cognitive Functioning (ECF) do not act aggressively if they are properly motivated to remain non-aggressive, suggesting some ability to use residual executive function. The second study directly compares the aggression-eliciting effects of alcohol in both men and women, an under-investigated issue. Results indicate that aggression levels in the women are not significantly less than those of men, and that alcohol-intoxication is not as predictive a factor in women as in men. The third study, a post-hoc analysis of the second, indicates that like for men, executive function level in women is highly related to propensity for aggressive response, in fact far more predictive than acute alcohol-intoxication. The fourth study was intended to investigate a possible behavioural explanation for the ECF-aggression relationship. Specifically, this study was designed to assess whether the aggression manifested by individuals with poor ECF was rapid or impulsive, i.e. due to a disinhibition process. Contrary to this popular contention, this study demonstrates that when faced with complex, social interactions, low-ECF individuals act aggressively, but only after a somewhat slow period of apparent contemplation. These findings and others conducted by the author are discussed in a speculative model of the ECF-aggression relationship. Means by which to test this model are proposed, as are other theoretical implications of the work.

Abstract:
Thesis (MA)--University of Stellenbosch, 2001.
ENGLISH ABSTRACT: Assuming a postmodern perspective, this literature study attempts to address unprivileged dichotomies in an endeavour to make audible the silence surrounding women, emotion and anger. In alignment with the postmodern assumptions of relativity, the tracing of anger involves acknowledging the physiological, social, intrapersonal, interpersonal, behavioural, cognitive and phenomenological propensities thereof. In a postmodern attempt to contextualise the discussion and to trace the relation of women and the female gender stereotype to anger, a selection of etiological perspectives and theories on anger are viewed within the cultural contexts thereof. Juxtaposed in a Western culture privileging reason to emotion, individuality and autonomy to relationship centeredness, a hypothetical understanding of the association between women and emotion is construed. The gender stereotypical erasure of anger from the female repertoire is also addressed. Integrating these assumptions with the possible positive and negative outcomes of anger, a preliminary understanding of the mechanism of and the silence surrounding women and anger is offered.

Abstract:
"Our society has generally viewed women as less aggressive and less likely to commit acts of violence in comparison to men. Statistics show that only 13 per cent of the violent crimes in the United States have been committed by women (Steffensmeier and Allan, 1996). However, employees at psychiatric hospitals often report problems of increased violent behavior among their female inpatients. This perception of the female inpatient population is further complicated by the mixed research findings regarding gender and violence. Considering the possible other environmental causations, gender alone should not prove an accurate variable in addressing violent behavior. Variables such as age, location, time, ethnicity, institutionalization and violence to self as opposed to violence to others will likely show significant relevance. This study will attempt to demonstrate how these other biopsychosocial variables play a role in violence prediction for this group of forensically committed patients other than gender."

Young, Suzanne. "Gender, policing and social control : examining police officers' perceptions of, and responses to, young women depicted as violent." Thesis, University of Stirling, 2011. http://hdl.handle.net/1893/3572.

Abstract:
In Britain, there have been growing concerns over the increasing female prison population and treatment of girls and women by the criminal justice system (see Carlen and Worrall, 2004; Hedderman, 2004; Batchelor, 2005; Hutson and Myers, 2006; Sharpe, 2009). In particular, there has been a rising female prison population in Scotland which has been associated with greater punitive controls over the behaviour of women (McIvor and Burman, 2011). The British press have depicted a social problem of certain young women becoming more violent and have attributed this to women’s liberation, particularly in the night time economy (MacAskill and Goodwin, 2004; Gray, 2006; Evening News, 2008). These concerns have attracted widespread media and political attention leading to a steady growth in academic research exploring the apparent rise of violent young women (Burman et al., 2003; Burman, 2004b; Batchelor, 2005). Despite this, there are relatively few studies that examine responses to young women with an emphasis on violent offences. Furthermore, there is a lack of research that has examined the role police officers have played in the control and depiction of young women’s violence. This research investigates the perceptions of and responses to young women depicted as violent from police officers in Scotland. Thirty three qualitative interviews were carried out with front line police officers in 2008 to investigate social control mechanisms employed to regulate the behaviour of young women. The research utilised feminist perspectives to develop an understanding of how young women deemed as violent face formal and informal mechanisms of social control from police officers. The study challenges the apparent increase in violence among young women and instead argues that institutional controls have contributed to young women being labelled as violent. Changes in police practices and zero tolerance approaches towards violence have resulted in a net widening effect that has impacted on the number of young women (and men) being brought to the attention of the police for violent offences. It is argued that this mechanism of institutional control could be a contributing factor towards the rise in the number of young women being charged for violent offences. Police discretion on the basis of gender did have an influence on arrest practices for some of the officers, but there was insufficient evidence to suggest the police officers responded any harsher or more lenient towards women. However, what was apparent was that police officers believed women needed to be ‘controlled’; they perceived them as more unmanageable than men and this defiance towards authority resulted in women being arrested. Women depicted as violent remain to be categorised on the basis of socially constructed gender norms and it is argued that this mechanism of discursive control continues to locate violence within the realm of masculinity. In conclusion, women who are depicted as violent are portrayed as unfeminine and in need of greater social control which is exercised through both formal and informal measures by police officers.

Abstract The term “feminist” creates a mental block in West Bengal. The image of a feminist is not one that many women would like to have. Feminism has been variously associated with aggressiveness, sexual permissiveness, immodesty, lack of womanly virtues and antimotherhood and antifamily attitudes. In fact, it is a cocky counter to the “ideal woman,” who is selfless, obedient and home loving. The best adjective that can be bestowed on a Bengali woman is gharoa, usually translated as “homely,” actually meaning a homebody. The matrimonial columns in Bengali and English dailies abound in the standard formula, “Wanted: fair, educated, homely bride.”

Abstract Wars appear naturally gendered. Nationalist discourse invariably extolls masculine attributes of aggressiveness, courage, and strength while it lauds female qualities of forbearance, generosity, and sacrifice. Feuding nations frequently draw on ideal categories of masculinity and femininity to bolster their own selfimage and denigrate their opponents; gender imagery provides a means for emphasizing dominant and subordinate positions. Gendered military discourse also permeates relations within· a nation, demarcating warfronts as masculine and homefronts as feminine. Patriotic propaganda sanctions existing patterns of gender relations, calling on men and women to assume genderappropriate roles to further nationalist objectives.

Abstract:
The identity development of gay men, their coming out, and their well-being is influenced by hypermasculinity, which permeates American society. Such conceptions of masculinity foster aggressiveness of men toward women and sexual minority men in the form of homophobia and homonegativity. Many gay men also adopt hypermasculine conceptions defining their manliness by social behavior, sexual prowess, and muscularity, a condition fueled by the heterosexism of American society. Gay men who espouse hegemonic masculinity often do so as a means of passing and covering—they stereotype sexual roles and diminish those within the population who do not adhere to these rigid gender norms. While this is evident across generations, the Queer Generation has been most vociferous in challenging the rigidity of hypermasculinity and expressing greater ease and comfort in adapting traditionally feminine attributes, representations, and behaviors. As a result a more inclusive and advanced conception of what it means to be a man is evidenced in younger gay men.

Abstract:
Melanoma is diagnosed within a wide range of ages, beginning in the third decade of life: it occurs slightly more commonly in women younger than 40, and represents the second most frequently diagnosed malignant tumor in patients 15 to 29 years of age. The overall incidence of melanoma in pregnancy is about 0.14 to 0.28 cases per 1000 births, accounting for 8% of malignancies diagnosed during pregnancy; although occurring extremely rarely; melanoma is one of the most common tumors known to metastasize to the placenta and the fetus. From the recent literature, we can conclude that chest radiography with radiation protection and abdominal ultrasounds are safe; Computed Tomography (CT) with intravenous contrast and positron emission tomography are generally contraindicating because of emission of high dose of radiation; Magnetic Resonance (MR) is safer than CT, but it is contraindicated during 1st trimester of pregnancy because it employs heart tissues and exposes the fetus to excessive noise than can cause high-frequency hearing loss in neonates. There is no conclusive evidence that pregnancy significantly affects melanoma aggressiveness in terms of increasing metastases incidence or lowering overall survival. Two recent investigations have reported increased mortality in women with pregnancy.associated malignant melanoma. Some data suggest that increased mortality of the melanoma patients with recent childbirth is mainly due to a stage-independent causal pathway: the pregnancy-associated immune suppression may permit some melanomas with high malignant potential to progress and come to clinical diagnosis in the short term following childbirth. However, some other data analysis shows no difference in tumour location and stage at diagnosis between women with PAMM and non-PAMM; furthermore, no evidence of a worse prognosis was found in women given the diagnosis of PAMM. Given these results, the authors conclude that counselling and monitoring women with PAMM do not need to be different from those provided for women with non-PPAMM. The main goals of melanoma treatment during pregnancy are to cure the neoplasia and avoid complications for the fetus; irrespective of pregnancy status, wide local excision around the melanoma site with margins proportional to the microstage of the primary lesion, is the treatment oflocalized melanomas. In more advanced cases (>4mm depth), adjuvant therapy with high dose interferon must be considered; although interferon is safely administered in pregnant patients with haematological malignancies, adjuvant therapy with high dose interferon has not been studied in pregnancy associated melanoma and therefore is not routinely recommended.

Abstract:
Introduction: Young age at breast cancer diagnosis is associated with tumor aggressiveness and treatment efficacy. Previous studies showed more aggressive clinicopathological characteristics and worse prognosis in young patients who underwent breast-conserving surgery or mastectomy compared with elderly patients. Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare indications and outcomes of young (60 years) breast cancer patients undergoing nipple-sparing mastectomy (NSM). Methods: Between January 2004 and December 2018, we evaluated 85 young and 33 elderly patients who underwent NSM for breast cancer treatment. All patients were operated by the same surgeon, the data were retrospectively evaluated by the medical chart and the patients’ follow-ups were updated during the appointments. Results: The indications for NSM were for ipsilateral breast cancer recurrence in 3.5%×25%, compromised margin after previous surgery in 4.7%×5%, and for early breast cancer in 91.8% and 52.5% of young and elderly patients, respectively. Young patients presented a stronger family history of breast cancer (p=0.003) and diagnosis of BRCA mutation (p=0.0001), underwent more bilateral NSM (p=0.008) and axillary surgery (p=0.0002) and received more frequent chemotherapy (p=0.05) and radiotherapy (p=0.005) than elderly patients. Elderly patients underwent more NSM for ipsilateral breast cancer recurrence (p=0.0001), presented more ILC tumors (p=0.006), and performed more hormone therapy (p=0.03) compared to young patients. The mean follow-up was 45 months for all patients. The overall recurrence rate was higher in young than in elderly patients (p=0.04); however when separated by local, locoregional, contralateral, and distant metastasis, no statistical difference was observed between the groups. Six (7%) young patients presented local relapse, four (5.6%) invasive, and two (14.3%) in situ tumors, suggesting that in situ tumors have a greater chance of relapse in young patients. No difference in overall survival was observed between young and elderly patients. Conclusion: In the mean follow-up of 45 months, we highlighted clinicopathological and treatment differences between young and elderly breast cancer patients undergoing NSM. No difference was observed in local, locoregional, distant recurrence, and overall survival between young and elderly patients; however, further studies with longer follow-up are needed to clarify these results.

Abstract:
Introduction: The risk of breast cancer in transgender men is similar to that of cisgender women. The average age at diagnosis is 44 years, suggesting an early incidence with greater tumor aggressiveness. It commonly presents as a palpable mass, years after masculinizing mastectomy, and has a histological subtype of invasive ductal carcinoma and luminal molecular subtype. Although there are no screening and treatment protocols for these cases, similar follow-up to CIS is recommended, including mastectomy, hormone therapy, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Case report: Patient, 42 years old, woman, transgender, nulliparous, no use of hormones, presented to an appointment asking for aesthetic mastectomy. She reported a family history of aunt and two cousins with breast cancer and a 32 year-old sister with atypical ductal hyperplasia. She identified a mass in the superolateral quadrant of the left breast through self-examination of the breasts. The mammography showed dense breasts, BIRADS 0. Breast ultrasound resulted in a solid, hypoechoic nodule, irregularly contoured, microlobulated, measuring 1.1x0.6 cm, between 2h and 3h, and about 3 cm from the areola of the left breast and BIRADS 5. Resonance imaging showed this hypointense nodule with lobulated contours measuring 1.3 x 0.6 cm, 3.3 cm from the nipple and 1.7 cm from the pectoral muscles. USG-guided thick needle biopsy diagnosed IDC (Invasive ductal carcinoma), histological grade 2, nuclear grade 3, with moderate stromal fibrosis, severe stromal elastosis, mild lymphocytic inflammatory infiltratation and vascular invasion present. It was 100% positive estrogen receptor and 50% positive progesterone receptor, with 12% Ki67 and negative HER-2, luminal molecular subtype A at immunohistochemistry. A bilateral skin and papillary areolar complex saving mastectomy was performed with sentinel node biopsy on the left. Anatomopathological examination showed absence of metastatic neoplasia in the lymph nodes and left breast with IDC in the retroareolar region, with the same characteristics as the previous biopsy. Pathological staging was T1N0M0 and anatomical staging and pathological prognosis was Ia. Oncotype DX Recurrence Score test was equal to 26. The patient was subjected to six cycles of Taxotere plus Cyclophosphamide and is using Tamoxifen and hormone with Androgel. We report a case of subcutaneous mastectomy used in an innovative way with preservation of the areola-papillary complex (APC), with an aesthetic contour of the chest wall and adjustment of the APC, allowing greater satisfaction in the experience of the genus. The same breast pathology that occurs in women should be expected in transgender women. So, we must consider that the focus on the aesthetic result may result in less precaution with the thickness of the remaining dermogreasy flap, with residual breast glandular tissue, and a higher risk of breast cancer.

Abstract:
Introduction: Breast cancer is one of the neoplasms that most cause death in women. Among these, there are some subtypes of greater biological aggressiveness, such as triple negative and HER overexpressed, which are associated with greater recurrence and mortality. Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC), salivary gland type, represents less than 0.1% of primary breast carcinomas and has indolent biological behavior and favorable prognosis compared with nonspecial triplenegative types. Case Report: A 51-year-old woman diagnosed with locally advanced ACC in the right breast, with negative immunohistochemistry for hormone receptors and HER2, underwent quadrantectomy with upfront axillary dissection, followed by adjuvant radiotherapy. After 12 years of diagnosis, she presented significant back pain, with magnetic resonance imaging scan evidencing bone lesion without medullary involvement in D7 and L1 suggestive of the secondary implant. Anatomopathology revealed the same histology as the primary tumor. Re-evaluation of chest tomography showed progression of pulmonary disease, 5 months after diagnosis of the first metastasis, underwent segmentectomy, with descriptive pathology identical to the initial lesion. Due to the oligoprogression and tumor type, somatic genetic research of the lung material was requested, which revealed a mutation in the NTRK gene, patient is still waiting for Larotrectinib in court. Discussion: The tumor has an unusual histological type, rare occurrence, slow progression course, and the absence of lymph node metastasis; the average incidence is around age 60. In this case, a young patient presented an ACC tumor with lung and bone metastasis. Due to the rarity, there is no definitive consensus regarding the ideal treatment, with the literature referring to the choice of mastectomy. Conclusions: Although malignant breast neoplasms and nonspecial subtypes, such as ductal and triple negative, have a poor prognosis, breast carcinoma of this aforementioned type has a favorable prognosis. The search for driver mutations in cancers of special types, together with the advances in genetic medicine, allows satisfactory results with target-specific treatments.

Abstract:
Objective: The aim was to evaluate an atypical case due to the rare pathologic finding of metaplastic breast carcinoma in a young woman, with an aggressive pattern. Case Report: A 45-year-old female presented with suspicious palpable right axillary lesion at level 1 topography of 2.5 cm size on the physical examination. No breast mass was palpable. Mammography was BIRADS classification 1. Breast and axillar ultrasound done 2 months before showed benign findings on the left side and axillary lymph node (LN) of 2.3 cm and breast nodule of 1.1×0.9 cm on the right side. Core-needle biopsy showed fibroadenoma in the right-sided breast nodule and metastatic carcinoma in the axillary LN. Immunohistochemistry expression of the markers was consistent with breast origin and was progesterone and estrogen receptors positive and HER-2 negative. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed this atypical LN with 1.5 cm. Clinical staging is T0N1M0. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy was performed with Adriamycin, cyclophosphamide, and paclitaxel. There was tumor remission with another MRI and ultrasonography showed the node metastasis with 1 cm. Right radical mastectomy was performed. Anatomopathology showed cytoarchitectural changes due to chemotherapy, complete pathological response in the LN, and immunohistochemistry unchanged. In addition, tumorectomy were performed in the left-sided nodule, with anatomopathology showing ductal ectasia and histiocitary abscess. Radiotherapy at the supraclavicular area and tangents was performed and tamoxifen was prescribed. The patient remained cancer free for 2 years after surgery. Conclusion: Metaplastic carcinoma represents less than 1% of breast cancers. Histologically, it is invasive and has subtypes based on the proportion of squamous, mesenchymal, and heterologous elements, such as cartilage and bone. Most common in women in the fifth decade and rare in younger than 35 years old. Usually, it is triple negative and has hematogenous dissemination, with little LN involvement and more distant metastasis. There is currently no described standard treatment. Owing to aggressiveness and poor prognosis, chemotherapy and modified radical mastectomy are performed. It is often refractory to standard regimens, so chemotherapy is indicated through the extrapolation of current data to invasive ductal carcinoma. The metastasis rate is about 35% in 5 years. The main prognostic factor is the size of the tumor at the time of diagnosis, LN metastasis, and poorly differentiated tumors.

Abstract:
Introduction: Among cancers, breast cancer is the leading cause of death from cancer in Brazilian women, second only to lung cancer worldwide. Few data are available in the literature portraying the prevalence of lower hemoglobin levels in cancer patients, especially if related to a worse prognosis with a more aggressive disease. Therefore, scientific studies are needed to make the relationship with such a pathology consistent. Objective: The objective of this study was to assess serum hemoglobin levels and whether this is associated with worse staging in patients with breast cancer indicated for radiotherapy treatment. Methodology: This is a prospective, descriptive, and longitudinal study with patients with breast cancer referred for radical radiotherapy, through the evaluation of blood hemoglobin and its initial staging. Results: We evaluated 40 patients with a mean age of 63.7 years (30–81/95%CI 60.4–67/SD±10.3). Mean serum hemoglobin was 12.6 g/dl (9–15.3/95%CI 12.1–13.1/SD±1.4). Four (10%) patients stage Ia, 9 (22.5%) stage Ib, 9 (22.5%) stage IIa, 11 (27.5%) stage IIB, and 7 (17.5%) stage IIIa were observed. A cohort study was conducted on patients, classifying them into group 1 with 13 patients (32.5% — stages Ia and Ib), group 2 with 20 patients (50% — stages IIa and IIb), and group 3 with 7 patients (17.5% — stage IIIa). The mean hemoglobin in group 1 was 13.9 g/dl (95%CI 13.4–14.4/SD±0.9), mean hemoglobin in group 2 was 12.5 g/dl (95%CI 12.3–12.7/SD±0.5), and in group 3, mean hemoglobin was 10.4 g/dl (95%CI 9.3–11.5/ SD±1.2) (p <0.001), demonstrating the existence of a statistically important relationship between worse staging and lower plasma hemoglobin levels. Conclusion: Patients with a worse prognosis may have lower plasma hemoglobin levels, which may demonstrate greater tumor aggressiveness in these patients.

Abstract:
Introduction: HER2-positive breast cancer is characterized by a hyperexpression or gene amplification of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2, a tyrosine kinase membrane receptor that has a profile with major aggressiveness and worse prognosis among all molecular subtypes. The metastatic pattern of this disease is one of the greatest challenges in mastology and requires an urgency and effective therapeutics to control this disease. Advances in therapy have allowed more specific treatments for anti-HER2 treatment that allowed improvement in the overall survival and disease-free survival of patients. Double-block therapy, performed by using Trastuzumabe and Pertuzumabe, is the first-line treatment for metastatic HER2-positive breast cancer. This kind of therapy was initially adopted effectively by SUS in 2019. Therefore, it is advisable to consider the use of this therapy at the Cancer Hospital of Pernambuco (HCP) to analyze the current results in patients and assess the local results. Objective: The goal of this study was to understand the epidemiological profile of patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer treated at the HCP and submitted to double-block therapy with Trastuzumab and Pertuzumab, analyzing progression-free survival and overall survival. Methods: This is a retrospective descriptive study conducted in November 2021. Relevant aspects of treatment, analysis of disease-free survival, and overall survival were analyzed in the medical records of patients with metastatic HER2-positive breast cancer who used Trastuzumab and Pertuzumab. The survey of the analyzed data was carried out by completing a specific form created by the researcher especially for this study. Anonymity and clarity of the information were ensured. Results: From 124 selected medical records, this study selected 78 patients with metastatic HER2 breast cancer, with a mean age of 50.4 years; 62.34% had positive hormone receptors and 44.87% had metastasis de novo. About 36% of patients had been using double-block for up to 6 months, which made it difficult to assess the behavior of the disease from medical examinations and images, given the short time; but it was found that of all patients, 15.4% have disease stability, 32.1% had regression, and 28.2% had disease progression. There was a median of 12 months for disease progression, but with a median of 11 months of use of double-block therapy with Trastuzumab and Pertuzumab. As for the overall survival, it is estimated, based on statistical data from the current sample, that an accumulated probability of death of up to 16.7% in up to 5 years. Women older than 60 years and those who had disease progression had a higher risk of death. Conclusion: This study evaluated metastatic HER2-positive breast cancer as a particular behavior tumor. The patients selected from the HCP submitted to the use of Trastuzumab and Pertuzumab in the metastatic scenario have a follow-up time still recent, which causes incipient data for the evaluation of specific outcomes that depend on the temporal component. Follow-up and updates of the analysis of outcomes are suggested, in the near future, to enrich the treatments proposed for the target population. Ethical aspect: This study was conducted strictly based on the Resolutions 510/16 and 416/12 of the Health National Council and was only conducted after HCP Research Ethics Committee approval.

Abstract:
Introduction: Breast cancer is a cancer that most affects women around the world. The neoadjuvant chemotherapy, nowadays, has been extended to the initial cases in order to de-escalate treatments, reducing the surgical aggressiveness of the breast and axilla. Pathologic complete response (pCR) is the major desired outcome, aiming to improve the overall and disease-free survival in a subgroup. Which factors would be correlated with pCR in our population and could help reduce the surgical extension in a SUS service in northeastern Brazil? Objective: The aim of this study is to find predictive factors of pCR after neoadjuvant chemotherapy, a subject that is still very controversial in the literature. Methods: This is an observational, analytical, longitudinal study carried out at the Brazilian Public Health System oncology service in the state of Sergipe with the participation of patients diagnosed with breast cancer who would undergo neoadjuvant chemotherapy between June 2019 and June 2020. Patients with a histological diagnosis of breast cancer who were admitted to the service with indication for neoadjuvant therapy were included. Patients with a histological diagnosis of carcinomatype breast cancer, of any age group, from stages I to III were included. Molecular subtypes were determined by immunohistochemical evaluation of core-needle biopsy material. After the treatment, the patients underwent mastectomy or breast-conserving surgery, depending on the indication of the attending physician at the service, without intervention by the researcher. For the treatment of the axilla, sentinel lymph node dissection or axillary dissection was performed. RECIST (response evaluation criteria for solid tumors) criteria were used to categorize the response. The hypothesis of independence between categorical variables was tested using Pearson’s χ2 or Fisher’s exact test. The hypothesis of the adherence of continuous variables to the normal distribution was tested using the Shapiro-Wilks test. Once this hypothesis was rejected, the hypothesis of equality of medians was tested using the Mann-Whitney U test. The significance level adopted was 5% and the software used was the R Core Team 2021 (version 4.1.0). Results: Data from 69 patients were collected during the study period. Of the patients analyzed prospectively, 17 achieved a pathological complete response (25.37%). The median age of these patients was 49 years. Despite a complete pathological response, 64.7% of these patients underwent mastectomy and 58.8% underwent axillary dissection. The median number of lymph nodes dissected in patients with rPC was 5 and in patients without rPC, it was 14.5. The median number of lymph nodes involved was 0.5 in patients who did not achieve rPC (p=0.006). Stages I and II were present in 76.5% of cases who achieved a complete pathological response. Among patients with a complete pathological response, 52.9% of cases were triple-negative tumors, 29.4% overexpressed HER2, and 17.6% Luminal (p=0.033). There were 11.8% of patients with metastases and complete pathological responses. Of the patients with rPC, 76.5% had a clinically negative axilla before chemotherapy and only 28.6% of the patients who did not achieve rPC (p=0.001) had a clinically negative axilla. Tumor staging before chemotherapy was initial (I and II) in patients with RPC in 76.5% and in those without rPC in 46% (p=0.04). In all, 76.5% of patients with rPC were from the capital and patients without rPC 60% were from the interior of the state (p=0.01). The median Ki67 of 50 was compared to the median Ki67 of 30 in patients without rPC (p=0.05). In a multivariate analysis, we observed the origin of the state capital and the initial clinically uncompromised axilla as independent predictors for pCR. Conclusion: The absence of prechemotherapy lymph node involvement and the origin of the capital proved to be independent predictors of complete pathological response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in our study.

Abstract:
Background: Case 1: a 59-year old man presented to our service with 4 years of progressive cognitive and behavioral symptoms. He became forgetful and experienced difficulties managing his payments. After 4 years he could no longer recognise his relatives. Cognitive assessment showed a mini-mental status examination of 17/30. MRI and SPECT revealed respectively focal atrophy and hipoperfusion of the frontal regions and anterior right temporal lobe. Case 2: a 72-year-old woman was brought to evaluation with a 5-years history of progressive language and behavioral deterioration. Her family reported early speech errors and behavioral changes, with a marked aggressiveness, ritualistic behaviors and hyperorality. Cognitive evaluation revealed a MMSE of 6/30 mainly due to a relatively fluent afasia. Brain MRI showed asymmetric cerebral atrophy, more prominent in the anterior left temporal lobe. Objective: N/H Methods: N/H Results: N/H Conclusion: We describe two cases of suspected frontotemporal dementia (FTD) syndromes. The left ATL may receive proportionately more input from the lexical and phonological centers subserving word processing. The right ATL may receive more input from right-lateralized emotion processing hubs. Focal atrophy of the left anterior temporal lobe has been associated with the semantic type of primary progressive aphasia evolving to semantic dementia. In contrast, focal atrophy of the right temporal lobe has recently been described as a controversial entity reported as the right temporal variant of FTD.
