Abstract:
This Diploma thesis deals with optimization of the hydrogel preparation with various additions of substances affecting adhesion, studying the adhesion of prepared hydrogel systems and modifying their adhesion properties. Prepared hydrogels were agarose, alginate and gellan polymer systems with additions of acrylic acid, acrylamide, calcium chloride and Tween 20. The experimental part of the diploma thesis focuses first on optimizing the preparation of individual hydrogels, from which, according to certain criteria, suitable representatives were selected to study adhesion and its controlled modification. Agarose and gellan hydrogels were selected as suitable representatives, which were then used in rheological measurements. Based on these measurements, the effect of the adhesive force and the adhesive work of individual materials was evaluated. It was found that the best adhesion properties of the materials used are unadjusted hydrogels, in the case of hydrogels with the addition of another substance, a negative effect on adhesion was observed, when the adhesion force was reduced and also the adhesion work was reduced.

Abstract:
The diploma thesis was dealt with the study of system PP and particular filler, specifically PPH and like a filler was used commercially available CaCO3 (SOCAL P3). This type of filler is declared by the producer as a filler without surface treatment. The submitted thesis had a goal to find and testing the suitable method and methodology for defined surface treatment of the filler. This is the first step for systematic study of influence the various types of adhesive layer on mechanical properties of declared composite. The plasma discharge behind static pressure was used for the surface treatment of the fillers. These fillers were afterwards analyzed by using of sedimentation analysis, infra - red spectroscopy (FT-IR) and scan electron microscopy (SEM). The composites with various volume part of the fillers were prepared in PIB and studied by short-time tests. Regarding to experimental demand there wasn't possible to realize the whole originally intended program i. e. study of influence the different types of adhesive layer, including to form the model for FEM approach. Nevertheless finding and testing the suitable method of surface treatment is completely basic for the others study. The above mentioned method was used in this application for the first time and it is possible to consider this process like an original approach.

Abstract:
Presented master's thesis is focused on the experimental research of the sanding parameters in order to improve adhesion in the contact between wheel and rail. Sanding is the application of the sanding material directly in the wheel/rail contact. It is still common, most effective and traditional way how to deal with low adhesion problem, which is mainly caused by environmental contaminants. Research is important for the better understanding of the sanding process and also provides data, which are necessary for it's optimization and efficiency improvement. Newly developed twin-disc machine was used to carry out the presented experimental research. The influence of common contaminants on the adhesion is investigated, considering various operating parameters. Different amount of the applied sand is used to increase adhesion in the contaminated contact at various slip and rolling speed. Results show, that there is the amount of the sand, from which no significant adhesion increase occur. Obtained findings and the results presented in this thesis will be used to optimize sanding system, which will contribute to reduce cost associated with sanding and low adhesion.

Abstract:
The presented dissertation thesis is focused on investigating the adhesive properties of façade cladding made of wood and wood-based materials in combination with flexible adhesion/assembly systems. The systems allow the implementation of effective construction joints and provide a solution with uniform stress distribution which allows the transfer of heavy loads, while simultaneously reducing the weight of the entire structure, which is also often connected with substantial cost reductions. Despite all that, little attention has been paid to this area so far. It is not a solution which is properly embodied in technical standards or in designers´, architects´ and contractors´ awarenesses. The aim of this dissertation is to characterise adhesive properties of selected façade cladding representatives made of wood and wood-based materials for the purposes of bonded joint application in a ventilated façade system. To define adhesion of façade joints, numerical and experimental methods are used, taking also various limit conditions into account. The main conclusion of the dissertation is the characterisation of basic parameters which influence adhesion, effectiveness and quality of façade glued joints. The secondary conclusion is the compilation of a simple methodical procedure for testing and implementing façade glued joints. The dissertation also makes a contribution by extending the current state of knowledge of façade adhesive joints.

Abstract:
Na planárním multielektrodovém poli byly zarovnány HL-1 buňky do pruhů chemickou metodou pomocí kombinace otisku adhezní látky a následným potažení neotisklých ploch anti-adhezní látkou.

Abstract:
Adheze nástřiků v as sprayed stavu byla kvantifikována. V případě nástřiků modifikovaných elektronovým paprskem přesná kvantifikace nebyla možná, z důvodu předčasného porušení na rozhraní nástřik-adhezivní pojivo během adhezních testů.

This thesis presents a comparison of different methods for measuring road surface skid resistance and an assessment of whether there is a functional dependency in between measurement results of these methods. It consists of a description of the physical quantities, which are measured by these methods and equipment used for these measurements. The work includes the measurement and comparison of measurement outputs with each other. Among the measurement methods there can be seen similar development of their values, with two exceptions there is similar difference between the results of the measurement methods. When comparing the results XL Meter instrument seemed more accurate than the RaceLogic due to its higher frequency of data recording. By using numerical method of comparison between XL Meter device and multipurpose device TRT there was a constant by which the results differed from each instrument, with value of 0,35, using the method of interspacing the resulting differences of values by a line, the resulting constant by which the results differed between the devices had the value of 0,33.

Abstract:
One-layer mechanical fastening waterproofing systems are often used within the compositions of flat roofs. Although in case of plastic based systems it is a common solution, for asphalt felts it handles about a relatively new approach, since the application of asphalt has a long history in the building industry. There are some key factors which all of the one-layer mechanically fastening systems should meet, especially water-resistance and resistance against the suction of wind. The application of dynamic loads on the joints may damage the bonds, which may lead to leakage of water. In particular the most delicate locations are the anchoring points at places where the waterproofing sheets are not connected mutually and the wind is captured. The characteristics of mechanically fastening waterproofing membranes may be verified by a specific test which is able to simulate the winds suction force, nonetheless it is quite expensive. Throughout the solution of the presented work an equipment was designed to observe the behaviour of roof compositions on smaller segments while taking into account the fastening elements, thus bringing the results closer to reality. In the first phase the presented dissertation aims to look at the possibilities of comparison of mechanically fastening bitumen reinforced sheets in a way, that they would show the extent to which the joints depend on the parameters of bitumen sheet - like the quality of the bitumen mass, the type bearing linen, the thickness of the layer or just the width of strip overlap. In the next phase the research was focused on the extent at which the strength of the resulting mechanically fastened joints is affected by the placement of fastenings elements within the strip overlap, including the possibilities when the distances from the edges of the bitumen strip cannot be maintained or because of improper geometry of fastening elements. The measurements were performed on both variants of flat roofs, thermally insulated

Abstract:
Although adhesion of bacteria and yeast have been extensively studied by a wide range of experimental and theoretical approaches, significantly less attention has been focused on microalgal adhesion to solid materials. Therefore this doctoral thesis is focused on physico-chemical aspects of microalgal adhesion. The results are based on experimental characterization of surface properties of both microalgae and solids by contact angle and zeta potential measurements. These data were subsequently used in modeling the surface interactions (thermodynamic, classical and extended DLVO models) resulting in quantitative prediction of the interaction intensities. Finally, the model predictions are compared with experimental adhesion tests of microalgae onto model solids in order to identify the physico-chemical forces governing the microalgae-solid interaction. The model solids were prepared in order to cover a wide range of properties (hydrophobicity, surface charge). The results revealed that in low ionic strength environment the adhesion was influenced mostly by electrostatic attraction/repulsion between surfaces, while with increasing ionic strength grew the importance of apolar (hydrophobic) interactions. Among tested materials the highest adhesion of Chlorella vulgaris cells was observed to (3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane modified glass (APTES glass) mimicking the surface properties of stainless steel. The impact of solid surface properties on the degree of colonization by microlagae was statistically more significant than the influence of culture medium composition on cell surface of Chlorella vulgaris.

Abstract:
Vzorky byly rozdělené do pěti hlavních skupin.

Presented master’s thesis is focused on the experimental research of influence of climate conditions on wheel-rail adhesion, where climate conditions are meant two parameters: ambient air temperature and air humidity. These parameters always affect wheel-raid contact and their values change significantly during the year. For presented experimental research was used tribometer Mini Traction Machine (MTM) in configuration „ball on disc“. For determination of influence climate conditions was first found out the influence of air humidity on adhesion at certain temperatures, which varied between (1 to 50) °C. These experiments were performed for two types of discs, where one disc was exposed to leaf extract contamination. After that was assembled influence of both parameters (air humidity and ambient air temperature) on adhesion in the form of a 3D map, where were distinctioned states, when condensation has occured and when didn‘t. The dissertation thesis deals with the preparation and characterisation of a-CSi:H and a CSiO:H thin films prepared using the process of plasma enhanced chemical vapour deposition (PECVD). Tetravinylsilane (TVS) and its mixtures with argon and oxygen were used to deposit films on both planar substrates and fibre bundles. Main characterisation techniques were employed to study the topography of films, namely atomic force microscopy (AFM). Their mechanical properties were studied through nanoindentation; the nanoscratch test was used to assess the film adhesion to the substrate. Other analysed properties were internal stress and friction coefficient. The particular attention was paid to the work of adhesion and its determination. This knowledge was further applied to the preparation of surface treatments of glass fibres and, subsequently, polymer composites. Those were tested using the push-out test and the short beam shear test. Based on the results, the effects of deposition conditions and the relationships between the studied properties and quantities were determined.

Abstract:
The present apparatus for the technical analysis of road accidents has no well-integrated information, recommendations or procedures of how to solve comprehensively the analysis of road accidents involving vehicles equipped with stabilization system of driving dynamics. The problem in the investigation of a vehicle movement in a curve is the ignorance of the contributions of vehicle dynamics intervention of the electronic stability system. Although some of the simulation software used in the analysis of road accidents makes it possible to take into account the modelled vehicle movement impacted by a stabilization system in the examined process, but the experts do not know what parameters should be entered in the numerical models of stabilization system in a computer programme. Therefore, the thesis investigates the issue of the expert analysis of vehicle riding and braking in a general spatial curve at speeds exceeding 50 kph with simultaneous examining the impact of electronic stability system chassis on vehicle driving dynamics. The thesis first deals with the solutions based on classical analytical methods, then dwells on experimental measurements in real conditions on testing grounds and, finally, addresses the use of computer simulation software in expert practice. Nevertheless, it is important to realize that no computer simulation software can be an absolutely unambiguous solver, and it is not enough to generate a computer simulation, but so obtained results should be evaluated and justified technically. Road accident analyst needs to know the impact of vehicle electronic stability control systems on vehicle movement. The thesis investigated the mutual relationship between the vehicle speed limit in a curve specified by analytical calculation and the vehicle speed in a curve experimentally detected by measuring the parameters of driving dynamics of a vehicle equipped with electronic stability system. The impact of selected electronic stability control systems of the chassis on the vehicle movement in the investigated processes in the curve was detected and quantified by driving experiments. Finally, the input values of significant quantities of computational models of the ESP simulation programs were found consistent with the results of experimental measurements in defined curves for the vehicles equipped with electronic stability systems. The results of the thesis can be used both in the expert and in the teaching activities.

Abstract:
Adhesion was studied in asymmetric bonded joints using fracture mechanics tests. The asymmetric bonded joints consist of two different type and/or thickness materials bonded by an adhesive. Mentions of asymmetric bonded joint tests employed so far are rare in the literature. They are imperfect and therefore are not standardized. Accordingly three new tests were introduced in this work to study bonded joints. The new metrological routines and models were built for the CRT (Constant Rate Test), CFT (Constant Force Test) and the CDT (Constant Displacement Test). The routines were validated with the new Artificial Crack Tip test developed in this thesis. Different bonded systems were examined: the adhesives - epoxy, cyanoacrylate, acrylic mastic, PSA; the bonded adherends - aluminium alloys, CFRP composites and polycarbonate. The results obtained in the new tests are very promising in terms of the accuracy and continuous observation of crack kinetics. In addition it was found that the novel strain gauge technique, introduced in the CDT, test allows precise joint monitoring when the adhesive is in a metastable state and a precise estimation of process zone. Another interesting achievement of this work was describing the phenomenon of double crack curvature in the vicinity of the strong – weak adhesion transition zone. The next achievement was derivation of the strain energy release rate from the elastic foundation model, which gives better understanding of the mechanics and the measurements behind adhesive bonding. Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) studies were made of the bonded substrates to estimate the surface treatment effects. The stress state in asymmetric geometry was studied using finite element analysis (FEA), which explained the formation of the curved crack front and the origin of river patterns. The new tests developed in this study appear promising since they offer accurate and reliable results for the materials tested

Friction modification within the wheel-rail interface is an important way of achieving ecologically friendly transportation of both persons and goods. This thesis aims to develop a new TOR lubricant, which will be able to maintain suitable frictional conditions while securing minimal adhesion required for traction. All measurements were carried out on tribometer MTM in the ball-on-disc configuration. In the first step, individual components were examined. More complex compositions were measured after that and the three best of them were compared with commercial TOR lubricants. The results show a good ability of developed compositions to maintain required adhesion, reduce wear, and all of them had resistivity against over-lubrication. Lastly, the process of lubricant verification before its application in real traffic was discussed.

Diploma thesis is focused on modification and characterization of polypropylene (PP) products surfaces by the chemical way. In theoretical part of thesis are summarized the current knowledge of this topic including characterization methods. Polypropylene surfaces were modified by acrylic monomers (acrylic acid, acrylic acid with 20 mol% content of sodium acrylate and acryl amide). Modified surfaces were characterized by infrared spectroscopy with ATR technique. The comparative parameter was carbonyl index determined from absorption peaks of functional methyl groups (2950 cm-1 ) and functional carbonyl groups (1700-1750 cm-1) of FTIR-ATR spectra. Determination of effect of initiator concentration on the modification process was done for acetophenone and benzophenone. There were determined the time dependence of carbonyl index for time from 0 to 600 s of mentioned monomers. In the same condition were modified test specimens designed for preparation of adhesive joints. Joints were bonded by cyanoacrylate adhesive that provide reaction with surface of polyacrylic acid. There were founded conditions of modification that provided strength of adhesive joints higher than strength of original PP. There were identified changes of surface roughness by using of confocal microscopy.

The doctoral thesis focuses on the part of criminal proceedings in which the court adjudicates the injured person's private claims which arose in connection with a criminal act (so-called collateral proceedings). The importance of collateral proceedings lies in the fact that by using it the injured party may avoid time-consuming, financially as well as procedurally demanding civil proceedings. However, the institute of collateral proceedings comprises a number of specific issues since a criminal court adjudicates the private claims of the injured party in compliance with substantive law rules being outside of the scope of criminal law (mainly civil law and labour law regulations) but, still, within the framework of criminal proceedings. The basic source of the submitted thesis is the Czech legal order. However, it is not the only one taken into consideration. The doctoral thesis also contains comparative analysis of legal regulation of collateral proceedings from the point of view of the German and Swiss legal orders. Following the analysis of collateral proceedings de lege lata, as well as the comparison with foreign models I am submitting proposals for the improvement of legislation that could be used in connection with the planned recodification of the Czech Criminal Procedure.

Souhrn/Summary 1 Atherosclerosis is one of the major causes of cardiovascular morbidity. This chronic inflammatory disease is characterized by endothelial dysfunction with accumulation of lipids, leukocytes, smooth muscle cells and extracellular matrix within the vessel intima. This process results in reducing of the vessel lumen that can lead to the obstruction of vessel blood flow. The initiation of atherogenic process is characterized by the alteration of endothelial function which is so-called endothelial dysfunction. The endothelial dysfunction is characterized by the expression of cell adhesion molecules and increased endothelial permeability for monocytes, T-cells and lipoproteins. This is beginning of "vicious"circle of atherosclerosis. On of the most important cell adhesion molecules participating in the beginning of atherogenesis are members of the immunoglobulin superfamily, VCAM-1 (vascular cell adhesion molekule-1), ICAM-1 (intracellular cell adhesion molekule-1) and PECAM-1 (platelet-endothelial cell adhesion molekule-1).VCAM-1 and ICAM-1 are transmembrane glycoproteins participacing predominantly in the stabilization leukocyte of interaction with endothelium and transmigration of leukocytes into vessel intima. Abstract:
Adhesion signaling is a field of cell biology studied mostly on adherent cell types. However, hematopoietic cells grow in suspension, and use adhesion to the extracellular matrix (ECM) only in their early development, or - in case of differentiated cells - to perform the tasks they are specialized for. Peripheral leukemic cells are derived from more or less immature hematopoietic precursors that have, among other alterations, defects in adhesion to the bone marrow microenvironment. On the other hand, leukemic stem cells (LSC) use adhesion to the bone marrow ECM as a mean to evade chemotherapy, and are a source of the minimal residual disease, and of the disease relapses. Kinases of the Src family (SFK) are known regulators of adhesion signaling in adherent cell types, and their overexpression and/or hyperactivation is often seen in malignant diseases. They are also involved in hematooncologic disease progression and resistance to therapy, particularly in several types of leukemias. In the present work, we used a variety of methods including microimpedance measurement, fluorimetric measurement of adhered cell fraction, immunoblotting, confocal microscopy, and interference reflection microscopy. Our results indicate that active Lyn kinase, a hematopoietic SFK, is present in adhesion structures of...

Abstract:
Adhesion of hematopoietic cells to the bone marrow microenvironment is important for their proper development. It is proven that Src-family kinases (SFK) regulate cell adhesion, although their exact role in the regulation of adhesion signaling remains unclear. Since adhesion processes are investigated mainly in adherent cell types, far less is known about hematopoietic cells. However, defects in the cell adhesion accompany a number of hematological diseases, like chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML). SFK overexpression is one of the proposed mechanisms of resistance to the first-line CML treatment, imatinib mesylate. Second generation drugs (e. g. dasatinib) inhibit SFK together with Bcr-Abl. Additionally, SFK-specific inhibitors (PP2, Src inhibitor-1) are also available, but there are no studies about effects of these drugs on cellular adhesivity of hematopoietic precursors. To explore the dynamics of hematopoietic cell adhesion to the extracellular matrix, we introduced a new approach using the RTCA xCELLigence DP system along with the well-established method of fluorimetric detection of adherent cell fraction. Our general observation is that various drugs (dasatinib, imatinib, PP2, Src inhibitor-1) induce pro-adhesive effects in several leukemic cell lines. Direct comparison of the kinetics of...

1 Abstract Compensation for non-pecuniary harm in the event of personal injury and death in collateral proceedings The topic of the diploma thesis is the issue of compensation for non-pecuniary harm in the event of personal injury and death in collateral proceedings. This issue is currently often debated due to, among other reasons, a change in the legal regulation of compensation for pecuniary and non-pecuniary harm effective from January 1, 2014. The specificity of this subject lies in the combination of two legal branches - criminal and civil law, as collateral proceedings are part of criminal proceedings and decide on claims which are of a civil nature. The thesis deals with the criminal law institutes of the injured party and the collateral proceedings themselves. An extensive space is then devoted to the private law regulation of compensation for non-pecuniary harm in the event of personal injury and death, especially in accordance with Sections 2958 and 2959 of the Civil Code with regard to legal practice and court decisions. The aim of this work is to describe and evaluate the legal regulation of compensation for non-pecuniary harm in the event of personal injury and death and the procedural possibilities of the injured party to attain this private law claim in criminal proceedings. Current issues of adhesive proceedings This thesis deals with current issues of adhesive proceedings. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter introduces the basic concepts essential for the definition of adhesive proceedings and related terms. These are primarily the definition of entities and parties to criminal proceedings, including the introduction of the institutes of harm as an overarching term, which includes damage, non-material damages and unjust enrichment.
