Abstract:
ABSTRACT Rabbit farming is an activity with high growth potential due to its easy handling, high prolificacy, low polluting impact, and easy adaptability to family farming systems, producing meat of high biological value. Therefore, the aim of this work was to evaluate, using von Bertalanffy's nonlinear model, growth curves of weight as a function of age in ‘Flemish Giant Rabbits’ and ‘New Zealand White’ crossbred rabbits. Two different data collections were used: the longitudinal method and the cross-sectional method. The experiment was carried out at the Federal University of Lavras, located in the municipality of Lavras, Minas Gerais, Brazil, where 10 crossbred rabbits were evaluated, and animals were weighed from 0 to 150 days of age. Both methods proved to be adequate to describe the development of rabbits and the cross-sectional method proved to be an adequate alternative to obtention of growth curves, saving time in data collection and showing consistent estimates.

Abstract:
Chain transmissions are widely used in drives of hoisting-and-transport and ag-ricultural machines, as well as in a number of machine tools and technological equipment in various branches of industry. However, a significant disadvantage of these transmissions is the high vibration activity under high dynamic loading. In this regard, the study of dynamic loads that occur during chain vibrations and affect the operability of the machine drive is one of the essential tasks of its dynamics. The article presents experimental studies performed in order to determine the maximum dynamic loads in a chain transmission of a machine drive with transverse vibrations of the chain. The most common case of transverse vibrations of a chain loop is studied as a string with fixed ends. This type of vibration is typical of chain transmissions with large masses of sprockets and parts attached to them. The article presents a description of an original test bench with an automated system for collecting and processing experimental data and a test procedure. The obtained experimental data are presented in the form of tables and graphical dependences of the maximum dynamic loads on the tension force of the chain average per cycle of vibrations and the amplitude of its transverse vibrations in the center of the span, related to its length. As a result of approximation of the experimental data array, an empirical formula is proposed that can be used in dynamic calculations of the drive. It is established that the maximum dynamic load and its amplitude increases with the increase of the ratio of the amplitude of transverse vibrations of the chain in the middle of its span to its length and the initial tension force of the chain. The ratio of the dynamic load amplitude to the tension force of the chain decreases with the increase of the latter.

Abstract:
Abstract This article is a thematic exploration of the organizations that Muslim women have established in the Netherlands and Belgium since the 1970s, and the forms of activism they have engaged in. The article provides insight into the complex dynamic between the lived experience of Muslim women in Dutch and Flemish societies, the shifting forms of their collective identities, and their efforts to bring about social change. We discuss the early organizational activities of migrant women from predominantly Muslim countries during the first few decades after their arrival. We explain the emergence of Islamic organizations and the growing participation of women in these organizations. We also explore the attempts made by Muslim women for feminist mobilization across ethnic and religious boundaries. Finally, we examine Muslim women’s engagement in (mixed-gender) anti-racist and LGBTQ movements. Our results indicate a rising visibility of Muslim women’s activism in the public sphere, and an increase in transversal mobilizations across ethnic and religious boundaries. The article concludes with the latest developments in Muslim women’s activism, and provides suggestions for future research.

Abstract:
Aim: to measure the stress levels of nursing professionals from the surgical center of a university hospital in northeastern Brazil. Method: this is a descriptive and cross-sectional study using a quantitative approach that was performed with 57 workers from the researched sector. The data collection was performed in February 2015, through the application of a sociodemographic questionnaire and the Lipp Stress Symptom Inventory. Result: it was verified that only 11 (19.3%) professionals presented some stage of stress; however, a concern is pointed out in the study regarding the stage of stress in which workers are: resistance. This indicates that stress is no longer in its initial phase. Regarding the inferential analysis of the data, it was evidenced that the practice of physical activity is a protective factor against the incidence of stress. Conclusion: although the investigated sector has potentially stressful characteristics, being a closed sector, the population investigated presented low levels of stress incidence.

Abstract:
The proliferation of connections between the digital world and social activism shows that social media have become fundamental tools for collective action strategies. This article analyses the case study of Black Lives Matter, a movement that is expressing strong potential at a social and cultural level. The aim of this article is to observe the key role played by social media and images on the strengthening of identity, on the (re)signification of collective values, on the radicalisation of the action of the transversal demand for social justice. The previous study on the organisational and structural characteristics of the movement, and their intertwining with the maximisation of the possibilities offered by digital ecosystems, highlights in our conclusions the creation of a new social narrative that has modified perceptions and behaviour, and the strong pervasiveness of #BLM at a socio-cultural level opens up interesting possibilities in terms of pressure on the political-institutional system, political legitimisation and the creation of a structured dialogue between the establishment and civil society.

Abstract:
PurposeTo develop guidelines for performing and interpreting positron emission tomography (PET) imaging for treatment assessment in patients with lymphoma both in clinical practice and in clinical trials.MethodsAn International Harmonization Project (IHP) was convened to discuss standardization of clinical trial parameters in lymphoma. An imaging subcommittee developed consensus recommendations based on published PET literature and the collective expertise of its members in the use of PET in lymphoma. Only recommendations subsequently endorsed by all IHP subcommittees were adopted.RecommendationsPET after completion of therapy should be performed at least 3 weeks, and preferably at 6 to 8 weeks, after chemotherapy or chemoimmunotherapy, and 8 to 12 weeks after radiation or chemoradiotherapy. Visual assessment alone is adequate for interpreting PET findings as positive or negative when assessing response after completion of therapy. Mediastinal blood pool activity is recommended as the reference background activity to define PET positivity for a residual mass ≥ 2 cm in greatest transverse diameter, regardless of its location. A smaller residual mass or a normal sized lymph node (ie, ≤ 1 × 1 cm in diameter) should be considered positive if its activity is above that of the surrounding background. Specific criteria for defining PET positivity in the liver, spleen, lung, and bone marrow are also proposed. Use of attenuation-corrected PET is strongly encouraged. Use of PET for treatment monitoring during a course of therapy should only be done in a clinical trial or as part of a prospective registry.

Abstract:
BACKGROUND: Pneumothorax is a severe medical condition characterized by the collection of air in one or several spaces of the pleura. A rare subtype of pneumothorax where air is restricted in interlobar pleural space, mostly due to the previous fibrous pleural adhesions, is known as interlobar pneumothorax. CASE PRESENTATION: We present a rare case of a 58-year-old female admitted to the emergency department due to difficulty on breathing, hemoptysis, and discomfort in the right anterior axillary line, which worsened with inspiration and was associated with breathlessness during physical activity. The diagnosis was confirmed by thoracic multi slice computed tomography (MSCT), showing that air was located between the middle and lower lobes of the right lung , measuring 7 × 5 × 2.5 cm (transversal × oblique cranio-caudal × antero-posterior), representing interlobar pneumothorax. DISCUSSION: Cases of interlobar pneumothorax need to be carefully differentiated and evaluated, while skin folds, overlapping breast margin, interlobar fissure, bullae in the apices, pneumomediastinum, pneumopericardium, inferior pulmonary ligament air collection, pneumatocele, and air collection in the intrathoracic extrapleural space, can mimic pneumothorax and make diagnosing very challenging.

Abstract:
To further understand the excitatory effects of motoneurons on spinal network function, we investigated the entrainment of disinhibited rhythms by ventral root (VR) stimulation in the neonatal mouse spinal cord. A brief train of stimuli applied to a VR triggered bursting reliably in 31/32 experiments. The same roots that entrained disinhibited bursting could also produce locomotor-like activity with a similar probability when the network was not disinhibited. The ability of VR stimulation to entrain the rhythm persisted in nicotinic and muscarinic cholinergic antagonists but was blocked by the AMPAR antagonist NBQX. Bath application of the type I mGluR1 receptor antagonist CPCCOEt reduced the ability of both dorsal root and VR stimulation to entrain the disinhibited rhythm and abolished the ability of either type of stimulation to evoke locomotor-like activity. Calcium imaging through the lateral aspect of the cord revealed that VR stimulation and spontaneously occurring bursts were accompanied by a wave of activity that originated ventrally and propagated dorsally. Imaging the cut transverse face of L5 revealed that the earliest VR-evoked optical activity began ventrolaterally. The optical activity accompanying spontaneous bursts could originate ventrolaterally, ventromedially, or throughout the mediolateral extent of the ventral horn or very occasionally dorsally. Collectively, our data indicate that VR stimulation can entrain disinhibited spinal network activity and trigger locomotor-like activity through a mechanism dependent on activation of both ionotropic and metabotropic glutamate receptors. The effects of entrainment appear to be mediated by a ventrolaterally located network that is also active during spontaneously occurring bursts.

Abstract:
Studies involving monozigotic (MZ) twins are of great importance for the understanding of genetic and environmental influences without the development of individual pathologies and pathways associated with lifestyle. In this context, discordance has recently been suggested in the levels of the brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) in MZ twins, which may be associated with the practice of physical activity (PA). The objective was to verify the relationship between the peripheral levels of BDNF and PA in MZ twins. This transversal and quantitative study included 11 pairs of MZ twins that answered the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), a brief anamnesis and were submitted to a blood collection (15 ml) for BDNF levels analysis, measured through ELISA kit according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Centro Universitário Metodista IPA (no. 1.746.954). There was no statistically significant relationship between BDNF and PA levels in sedentary and physically active MZ twins (P=0.431). PA practice does not seem to influence BDNF levels in these individuals.

Abstract:
The largest private natural history museum dedicated to the last stage of the Cenozoic history of northeastern Russia, the Ice Age Museum stores and studies the remains of fossil and modern Arctic mammals. Its funds include skeletons, isolated bones and teeth. A special place in the collection is occupied by the remains of a mammoth, Mammuthus primigenius (Blumenbach, 1799), with unusual and rarely encountered morphological features. The aberrant specimens are divided into three groups: skeletal remains, bones and teeth. The most expressive of them are characterized. Abnormalities found on the skeleton of a mammoth female from the Taimyr Peninsula (displacement of teeth m2 and m3 transversely to the mandibular bone, lifetime fractures of the ribs and incomplete fusion of the neural arc of the atlas), we attribute to individual characteristics. Growth of thoracic vertebrae tissues due to ligamentos and ostephitos, considerable deformations of cervical and thoracic vertebrae are pathologies that hampered the life of mammoths and led to death. The most frequent of them, according to our materials, is the bend of the posterior part of the crown (varying degrees of intensity) and the development of horizontal furrows parallel to the level of the chewing surface and the lysis of the outer cement as a result of the action of the oral microorganisms. The most frequent deviations in the structure of the buccal teeth, according to our materials, are two: 1) the bend of the posterior part of the crown (varying degrees of intensity); 2) the dissolution lines on the cement of the crown parallel to the chewing surface as a result of the vital activity of microorganisms in the oral cavity. New cases of tusks’ aberrations are described: dentinal clots in the wall of the tusk alveoli and at the base of the tusk, annular constrictions fixing the growth retardation, deviations in the formation of annual cone-shaped increments. The aberrant remains illustrate the life history of a fossil elephant.

Abstract:
This essay reads nineteenth-century imperial India as the mise en scène for certain critical concatenations of human sovereignty, divinity, and animality. It does so by focusing on the imperial state's war upon human and extrahuman forms of predation, showcasing in the process a cluster of texts on collective criminal activity, hunting, and popular religion and folklore that share certain grids of intelligibility and vocabularies of rule. Collocating these texts on human and nonhuman predation brings into visibility the degree to which imperial sovereignty in the Victorian period entails traffic across human and extrahuman domains. Thus, thinking about the sanctioned killing of fearsome animal predators comes to be twinned with thinking about wars of pacification against dangerous humans and noxious deities. To think imperial sovereignty consequently involves thinking with humans and animals but also thinking with mutually antagonistic theological forces, Hindu and Christian—and in thinking these together. An attentiveness to these heterogeneous ecologies of empire might serve to illuminate the degree to which the imperial project depends on a complex mesh of transversal and co-constitutive life-forms and forces.

The research and teaching activity of Orsina Simona Pierini, Professor of Architectural and Urban Composition at the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies of the Polytechnic University of Milan, focus on the historical interpretation of the city’s architecture from the perspective of design. Her knowledge of the role of the dwelling in urban planning stems from the systematic study of the different expressions of habitation in contemporary European cities, as well as from specific research focused on modern Spanish architecture and Milanese residential constructions, with particular attention to the relationship between the dwelling and the city. Her interpretation of these phenomena is, therefore, transversal as it involves various different scales and addresses the critical-historical sphere; it’s also a means to define design methods that respond to the needs and demands of current habitation. This conversation with Orsina Simona Pierini is organised, therefore, around certain topics that summarise her experience as a scholar and her personal opinion of the expressions of contemporary collective architecture that define the configuration of the contemporary city and, in general, the current way of inhabiting.

Introduction: The pancreas is in the cranial abdomen with its left lobe positioned between the greater curvature of the stomach and the transverse colon. Its diseases occur frequently, being underdiagnosed due to the nonspecificity of clinical signs and the difficulty of access to the organ through diagnostic imaging, biopsy, and the lack of specific clinicopathological tests. Objective: To verify the main predisposing factors and identify the cause of this disease in felines, through an integrative review. Methodology: This is an integrative review, based on 5 scientific articles, published between the years 2017 to 2022, in the MEDLINE, LILACS, SciELO, VETINDEX, DeepDyve and Google Scholar databases. Data analysis through the collection of information and description of the main data found. Results: Diseases of the exocrine pancreas occur frequently, so pancreatitis refers to inflammation caused by the self- digestion of this organ by secreted pancreatic enzymes that are activated within acinar cells due to a failure of the host’s defense mechanism, which leads to a systemic and local lesion, occurring in conjunction with the activity of pancreatic enzymes and inflammatory mediators such as kinins and free radicals. Final considerations: The diagnosis of the disease is difficult to occur due to the nonspecificity of clinical signs and exams, the treatment of pancreatitis aims to reduce pancreatic activity without causing further damage to the pancreas and adjacent organs and to treat the disease itself since the cause of this is rarely identified.

Background: Visualisation is a crucial skill for several everyday life activities and conceptual construction and development. Objectives: As it represents a substantial part of Euclidean geometry, this article addresses: the study and analysis of the relationships between angles formed from two parallel lines intersected by a transversal and the role of visualisation in the construction and development of geometric concepts imbricated in the mathematical relationships underlying the theme. Design: The methodological approach adopted was Design Experiments. Settings and participants: A teaching situation is presented, in which students from the 8th grade of elementary school at a state public school in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, performed manipulations on the smartphone screen while carrying out an activity. Data collection and analysis: To analyse this activity, we selected events from a video obtained from the smartphone used by the students. Results: Through interactions and handlings, students visualised, analysed, and built the concepts of corresponding angles and collateral angles by studying a geometric object on the smartphone screen through the GeoGebra application. Conclusions: The geometric work mediated by mobile devices with touch screens enables the curricular reorganisation of Geometry and the articulation and the breaking of the hierarchy of concepts.

Abstract:
Sixty-nine Psidium accessions collected in six Brazilian states were analyzed by two non-hierarchical clustering methods and principal components (PC), to provide orientation for breeding programs. The variables ascorbic acid, β-carotene, lycopene, total phenols, total flavonoids, antioxidant activity, titrable acidity, soluble solids, total soluble sugars, moisture content, lateral and transversal fruit diameter, fruit pulp and seed weighs, and plant fruit number and weight were analyzed. Specific groups were observed for the araçazeiros accessions, by the Tocher and the k-means methods, as well as by the three-dimensional dispersion of the four PCs. The clustering separated accessions of araçazeiros from the guava. There was no specific grouping in terms of States of origin, indicating the absence of barriers in the guava propagation accessions. Analyses suggested the collection of a greater number of guava germplasm samples from a smaller number of regions and divergent accessions with high nutritional compound levels to develop new cultivars.

Abstract:
With the increasing in activity, the expenses of the laboratory are considerable. To optimize their prescriptions, prescribers must know the cost price of medical analyzes. Our objective was therefore to test the applicability of this method (Activity Basing costing) and then to compare obtained results with rates in force This was a cross-sectional retrospective study of data collected over a three (3) month period from July to September 2016. Approach for data collection was based on observation, interview, and literature review. These tools made it possible to note for each activity time required as well as human and material resources mobilized. Data processing was carried out by Excel spreadsheet in pre-designed sheets for this purpose. Results of this work showed, on the one hand, that tariffs applied did not cover the costs of analysis services. On the other hand, wage costs represented almost 60% of overall costs. The A.B.C. is adapted to the issue raised. It completely dissects the cost formation scheme: each resource is identified and attributed to the activity that consumes it. All qualities, which should allow the method to gain a foothold in the field of health.

Abstract Physical activity has a great impact on people’s health and well-being, while in the context of Hospital Pedagogy, there is a lack of initiatives that consider this area as an educational and transversal strategy to enhance the quality of life. The main goal is to design and implement a Service-Learning project aimed at the students who attend the Hospital Classroom in the San Pedro Hospital (Logroño). A needs assessment has been conducted in the collective under study through semi-structured interviews with teaching and healthcare personnel and administering an ad hoc questionnaire to the families of hospitalized children. Based on the diagnosis, a Service-Learning project was designed for a classroom of 4th grade of Primary Education of the involved Preschool and Primary Education Center, involving them in the initiative. A multifocal assessment was carried out through rubrics, evaluating the learning process of the students involved as well as the project itself. The results obtained were very positive. The conclusions of the study certify the suitability of the methodology Service-Learning for promoting a healthy lifestyle in the students who use the Hospital Classroom, as well as for fostering awareness among the students of Primary Education towards this collective.

Abstract:
Background. A significant increase in the prevalence of malnourishment, obesity, and sarcopenic obesity has been observed in developed countries over the last few decades. In Spain, this especially happens in populations over 65 who are not institutionalized. Differences in lifestyle, medication, and economic capacity partially explain this increase. Objective. To study the nutritional status of a population of 65 year-olds and subjects who are not institutionalized, in the Cádiz region (Spain). Methods. Observational, transversal study carried out on 2621 subjects who are 65 years old and over, with a direct weight and height measurement, in 150 pharmacy offices from 44 locations. A mobile application was designed for homogeneous data collection in all the pharmacy offices. The data required from all subjects was gender, age, postal code, social security contribution regime, if the patient lives alone, type of food consumed as the main meals, level of physical activity, polypharmacy, weight, and height. Results. The prevalence of overweight and obesity amounts to 82.2% of the population (43.2% overweight and 39% obese). We found an inverse relationship between the prevalence of overweight and obesity with carrying out physical activity and having full dinners. Conclusion. We identify the need to reinforce the messages to the elderly aimed at maintaining adequate physical activity and assessing the quality and quantity of dinners, as well as reducing, as much as possible, the treatments that may lead to weight gain.

Abstract:
Integrating spatial data from different sources results in visualization, which is the last step in the process of digital basic topographic map creation. Digital elevation model and visualization will used for geomorphological mapping, geospatial database, urban planning and etc. Large scale topographic mapping in the world countries is really a prominent challenge in geospatial industries today. The purpose of this work is to integrate laser scanner data with the ones generated by aerial photogrammetry from UAV, to produce detailed maps that can used by geodetic engineers to optimize their analysis. In addition, terrestrial - based LiDAR scans and UAV photogrammetric data were collected in Sharga hill in the north zone of Mongolia. In this paper, different measurement technology and processing software systems combined for topographic mapping in the data processing scheme. UTM (Universal Transverse Mercator) projected coordinate system calculated in WGS84 reference ellipsoid. Feature compilation involving terrestrial laser scanner data and UAV data will integrated to offer Digital Elevation Models (DEM) as the main interest of the topographic mapping activity. Used UAV generate high-resolution orthomosaics and detailed 3D models of areas where no data, are available. That result issued to create topographic maps with a scale of 1:1000 of geodetic measurements. Preliminary results indicate that discontinuity data collection from UAV closely matches the data collected using laser scanner.

Abstract:
This article discusses the dynamics of the S-curve phenomenon in nature. The S-curve phenomenon and its physics principle unite the spreading flows with the collecting flows, and the animate flows with the inanimate flows. The history of the volume of heated soil versus time follows an S-shaped curve that is entirely deterministic. It is also predicted that when the invading channels are tree shaped as opposed to single pipes, the entire flow from point to volume occurs faster, more easily, along a steeper S-curve. The S-curves of nature are history records of tree-shaped spreading on areas and volumes that are eventually filled during consolidation by transversal diffusion. The prevalence of S-curve phenomena in nature rivals that of tree-shaped flows, which also unite the animate, inanimate, and human realms. This phenomenon is so common that it has generated entire fields of research that seem unrelated: the spreading of biological populations, cancer tumors, chemical reactions, contaminants, languages, news, information, innovations, technologies, infrastructure, and economic activity, and the evolution of technology performance versus cumulative R&D spending.

Abstract:
Abstract. Physical activity is fundamental for overall well-being and health, but it is often neglected by university students due to academic demands. During university years, many students experience a decrease in their levels of physical activity, influenced by intense study schedules, lifestyle changes, and increased independence. This shift often leads to an increase in sedentary habits, which can have negative consequences for their physical and mental health. This research aimed to describe the levels of physical activity among university students in the Peruvian Amazon. A descriptive quantitative study with a cross-sectional design and group comparison was conducted, using a sample of 280 university students. Data collection utilized the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), an instrument with adequate metric properties. The results indicated that 60.5% of students reported moderate levels of physical activity, 32.1% reported high levels, and 7.4% reported low levels. Additionally, a statistically significant association was found between physical activity levels and gender, age, and major. It was concluded that most university students in the Peruvian Amazon engaged in moderate levels of physical activity. Therefore, it is recommended that universities promote physical activity by integrating programs and policies that encourage a healthy lifestyle among students. Abstract:
Mobile wheel-based LiDAR systems are capable of collecting a dense, accurate point cloud efficiently. Such systems provide accurate geospatial information of a scene, and thus show great potential to serve as an alternative infrastructure monitoring tool. In this study, two different surveys of runway 10/28 at Purdue University Airport (KLAF) were conducted. The surveys were performed in April and July of 2018 before and after a partial runway pavement resurfacing project. The study had two objectives: (1) evaluate the positional accuracy of derived features, and (2) evaluate LiDAR’s ability to detect changes in longitudinal/transversal profiles. The former used 10 static features in the point cloud; the latter used longitudinal and transversal profiles over a 1 mile-long runway section. For the 10 static features (runway lights), the root mean square errors (RMSE) of the coordinate differences are 0.13 ft, 0.08 ft, and 0.09 ft along the x, y, and z-directions, respectively. Considering the range and positional accuracy of the LiDAR and implemented GNSS/INS units, respectively, these RMSE values are acceptable. The derived numerical results from the longitudinal and cross-sectional profiles showed close alignment of pavement elevation where there was no construction activity and a 0.3 ft increase in elevation for the pavement section that was resurfaced. This paper provides a mechanism for evaluating the spatial accuracy of mobile LiDAR data and demonstrates its potential for mapping airfield infrastructure. As the technology improves, it is anticipated that cost-effective solutions yielding sub-centimeter accuracy will be available in next 18 months. Such availability, together with the established repeatability from this study, will stimulate more research and practical applications implementing mobile LiDAR systems.

Abstract:
Different international organizations have spoken out in favor of the value of physical activity in the integral development of children and adolescents, which is why different guidelines have been established for governments to facilitate quality Physical Education. In this sense, the objective of this study was to analyze the factors that influence the performance of PE teachers, from the perspective of pedagogical technical advisors and school district supervisors from various school zones from the State of Chihuahua. This was a transversal study, with a qualitative approach and phenomenological focus, which was chosen because it allows the understanding of these aspects from a unique and unrepeatable process; data collection was carried out through focus groups in which PE ATP supervisors participated and data were collaboratively analyzed. The main results indicated that Physical Education does not have the same importance as other subjects, a situation that is reflected in: constant curricular reforms, administrative inconsistencies, dependence on the school organization, and being seldom taken into account in decision-making. It was concluded that strict public policies are required to be applied uniformly throughout the country, as well as privilege Physical Education within the Basic Education curriculum in Mexico.

The main objective of this article is to present the HC Tourism project, which aims to seek and understand the needs of skills in tourism industry by studying the active companies that belong to the tourism economic subsectors, by region and subsector of economic activity. The methodology used in this project is based on a qualitative and quantitative approach, throughout the collection of primary and secondary data. The qualitative approach was based on a literature review which allowed to compile a list of 150 skills, divided under four domains: i) soft skills; ii) hard skills; iii) management skills; iv) transversal skills. The quantitative approach returned primary data, which were collected through an online survey implemented and sent to national tourist entrepreneurs, expecting to develop the ideal profile of the tourism human resources, based on a sample of 555 answers.

Abstract:
Introduction: Despite the vast evidence on different risk factors and their associations with behaviours that affect the development of young people, there is still a gap in the literature, the evidence bases that ad-dresses the components of health in an integral way. Objective: The present study aims to propose a combined indicator with the intention of concatenating risk behaviours into a single primary outcome, called Health Impaired Physics, and after that, identify socioeconomic indicators that can help to understand how this commitment affects the Brazilian students. Methods: This is a transversal-secondary analysis study of a Brazilian public database (National School Health Survey). The data are available from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (https://www.ibge.gov.br/). We selected the information about physical activity, nutritional status perception, and “effort to change weight” from 108778 schoolchildren aged between 11 and 18 years. After proposing the “impaired physical health” variable, we use the Poisson logistic regression with p<0.05 of acceptable significance. Results: Impaired physical health was adopted based on the following composition and criteria: negative classification of physical activity, poor perception of nutritional status and lack of effort to change weight. Individual characteristics (gender and race), food (smoking and drug consumption), family (e.g. not living with parents), phone use and geographic characteristics showed a significant association with the prevalence of impaired physical health. Conclusion: Collectively, our evidence reinforces that physical health impairment is influenced by several factors, including lifestyle, family and demographic context, and technology use. This study provides important information for managers in planning efficient public policies to promote health for this population, especially in intervention in the social context.

Abstract:
Abstract. The world's population is ageing progressively, necessitating an understanding of the needs of older people to improve their quality of life, particularly through physical activity. Currently, the actual levels of physical exercise in this population are unknown, as well as the levels of quality of life and dependency in many regions of the world. Therefore, the main objective was to analyse the physical activity levels of older adults, as well as the association of exercise on their quality of life. For this purpose, 344 older adults from the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (Argentina) answered an ad-hoc questionnaire developed by a committee of experts and based on validated tools on physical exercise, dependence and quality of life. The main findings were that 34.6% of the population did not engage in weekly physical activity, a large part of the population showed a high level of independence, and a positive association was found between more active people and higher levels of quality of life. Based on these findings, new community physical exercise strategies should be designed and implemented to increase levels of quality of life and independence by increasing the volume and frequency of physical exercise in older people, especially done collectively. Abstract:
Background: In previous studies, it was found that the confinement to which the population was subjected during the quarantine of the COVID-19 pandemic increased the risk of anxiety and depression. Objective: to analyze the levels of anxiety and depression symptoms in Portugal residents during the quarantine of the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This is a descriptive, transversal, and exploratory study of non-probabilistic sampling. Data collection was carried out between 6th and 31st of May 2020. Sociodemographic and health questionnaires PHQ-9 and GAD-7 were used. Results: The sample consisted of 920 individuals. The prevalence for depressive symptoms (PHQ-9 ≥ 5) was 68.2% and (PHQ-9 ≥ 10) was 34.8%, and for anxiety symptoms (GAD-7 ≥ 5) was 60.4% and (GAD-7 ≥ 10) was 20%. Depressive symptoms were moderately severe for 8.9% of the individuals, and 4.8% presented severe depression. Regarding the generalized anxiety disorder, we found that 11.6% of individuals present moderate symptoms, and 8.4% severe anxiety symptoms. Conclusions: The prevalence of depressive and anxiety symptoms were substantially higher than those previously found for the Portuguese population and when compared with other countries during the pandemic. Younger individuals, female, with chronic illness and medicated, were more vulnerable to depressive and anxious symptoms. In contrast, participants who maintained frequent levels of physical activity during confinement had their mental health protected.

Abstract:
Mitochondrial unfolding protein response (UPRmt) effectively resists the pathological cardiac hypertrophy and improves the mitochondrial function. However, the specific activation mechanism and drugs that can effectively activate UPRmt in the cardiac muscle are yet to be elucidated. The aim of this study was to determine the regulation role of UPRmt on preventing pathological cardiac hypertrophy by tetrahydrocurcumin (THC) and explore its underlying molecular mechanism. Male C57BL/6J wild-type (WT) mice were divided into a control group and subjected to sham treatment for 4 weeks, and a test group which was subjected to transverse aortic constriction (TAC) surgery. Animals in the control and test group were orally administered THC (50 mg/kg) for 4 weeks after TAC procedure; an equivalent amount of saline was orally administered in the control sham-treated group and the TAC group. Subsequently, oxidative stress and UPRmt markers were assessed in these mice, and cardiac hypertrophy, fibrosis, and cardiac function were tested. Small interfering RNA (siRNA) targeting proliferator-activated receptor-gamma coactivator (PGC)-1α and activating transcription factor 5 (ATF5) were used to determine the UPRmt activation mechanism. THC supplement partly upregulated UPRmt effectors and inhibited TAC-induced oxidative stress compared with TAC-operated WT mice, thereby substantially attenuating contractile dysfunction, cardiac hypertrophy, and fibrosis. Furthermore, PGC-1α knockdown blunted the UPRmt activation and the cardioprotective role of THC. The interaction between PGC-1α and ATF5 was tested in neonatal rat cardiac myocytes under normal conditions. The results showed that PGC-1α was an upstream effector of ATF5 and partly activated UPRmt. In vitro, phenylephrine- (PE-) induced cardiomyocyte hypertrophy caused ATF5 upregulating rather than downregulating corresponding to the downregulation of PGC-1α. The PGC-1α/ATF5 axis mediated the UPRmt activation and stress-resistance role of THC in vitro. Collectively, the present study provides the first evidence that PGC-1 and ATF5 can form a signaling axis to partly activate UPRmt that mediates the cardioprotective role of THC in pathological cardiac hypertrophy.

Abstract:
This article presents a systematic review of innovative projects funded by EU Rural Development Programs that were designed and implemented in rural areas of the European Union to facilitate the territorialized production of foodstuffs and their sale through alternative networks. On the basis of the results obtained in this review, we designed a model for the transfer of knowledge to the local community in the Alpujarra Granadina (Granada, Spain) within the framework of the LifeWatch project. This study uses two consecutive methodological approaches. We began by developing a protocol for the systematic search and analysis of successful rural development projects carried out in the European Union between 2007 and 2020. After that, we created a model for the transfer of results using a participative methodological approach. The results of our analysis of the group of projects selected for review show that the main innovations were made in different aspects of the product, process, sales and distribution. These innovative ideas were implemented by rural communities with a high degree of collective initiative and intelligence and could potentially be replicated in other areas. The sample analyzed contains a wide array of novel, alternative formulas, which are transversal to the projects, so provide significant contents that could be used to activate a space for participation and debate, which could itself become fertile ground for the creation of new projects. In conclusion, this study provides the stakeholders in rural areas, in particular farmers, with a wide, systematically organized knowledge base that proposes solutions to shared challenges.

OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY OF YOUNG PHYSIOTHERAPY STUDENTS FROM A PRIVATE HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION IN FORTALEZA, CEARÁPhysical inactivity is one of the major risk factors for developing cardiovascular and respiratory complications as well as degenerative changes that usually manifest in the aging phase. Thus, the present study aimed to analyze the physical activity level of young physiotherapy students from a Private Higher Education Institution in Fortaleza/CE. This is a cross-sectional study with 91 students. For data collection we used the IPAQ – international questionnaire of physical activity. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics using the statistical software Microsoft Office Excel 2013. The sample had a mean age of 23.85 ± 2.05 years, predominantly female, representing 76.92% (n = 70) and 54.94% (n = 50) of the students consider themselves brown. Physical activity level was classified as sedentary to 13.19% and highly active to 5.50%, with a higher prevalence of insufficiently active individuals (70.33%). It is concluded that the students do not practice any physical activity and/ or do not follow the recommendations of time spent in moderate and intense activities and that a small number of active individuals is insufficiently active. Therefore, a change in habits in relation to the regular practice of physical activity should be implemented to prevent diseases that manifest throughout life.

Abstract:
Abstract A nonhydrostatic cloud model is used to examine the thermomechanics of tropical cyclogenesis under realistic meteorological conditions. Observations motivate the focus on the problem of how a midtropospheric cyclonic vortex, a frequent by-product of mesoscale convective systems during summertime conditions over tropical oceans, may be transformed into a surface-concentrated (warm core) tropical depression. As a first step, the vortex transformation is studied in the absence of vertical wind shear or zonal flow. Within the cyclonic vorticity-rich environment of the mesoscale convective vortex (MCV) embryo, the simulations demonstrate that small-scale cumulonimbus towers possessing intense cyclonic vorticity in their cores [vortical hot towers (VHTs)] emerge as the preferred coherent structures. The VHTs acquire their vertical vorticity through a combination of tilting of MCV horizontal vorticity and stretching of MCV and VHT-generated vertical vorticity. Horizontally localized and exhibiting convective lifetimes on the order of 1 h, VHTs overcome the generally adverse effects of downdrafts by consuming convective available potential energy in their local environment, humidifying the middle and upper troposphere, and undergoing diabatic vortex merger with neighboring towers. During metamorphosis, the VHTs vortically prime the mesoscale environment and collectively mimic a quasi-steady diabatic heating rate within the MCV embryo. A quasi-balanced toroidal (transverse) circulation develops on the system scale that converges cyclonic vorticity of the initial MCV and small-scale vorticity anomalies generated by subsequent tower activity. The VHTs are found to accelerate the spinup of near-surface mean tangential winds relative to an approximate axisymmetric model that excises the VHTs. This upscale growth mechanism appears capable of generating a tropical depression vortex on time scales on the order of 1–2 days, for reasonable parameter choices. Further tests of the VHT paradigm are advocated through diagnoses of operational weather prediction models, higher resolution simulations of the current configuration, examination of disruption scenarios for incipient vortices, and a meteorological field experiment.
