Abstract:
The pulmonary isozyme of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACEP) is present in the body both as a cell-associated protein in endothelial, epithelial, and monocytic cells and as a soluble protein in various body fluids including serum. The mechanism by which soluble ACEP is produced in vivo is unknown. Using in vitro transfected cell culture systems, we previously demonstrated that the rabbit testicular isozyme of ACE (ACET), which shares extensive homology with ACEP, is first synthesized as a plasma membrane-anchored ectoprotein and then secreted to the culture medium by cleavage removal of its COOH-terminal membrane-anchored tail. Here, using in vitro cultures of arterial endothelial cells and acutely isolated renal epithelial cells, we demonstrate that ACEP is also cleavage secreted from their natural producer cells. Biochemical and immunological characterization of the in vitro secreted ACEP protein revealed that it is missing the COOH-terminal membrane-anchored region of the cell-associated ACEP. Similar analysis of ACEP proteins present in rabbit serum, lung, and kidney established that ACEP secretion in vivo is also caused by the cleavage removal of the COOH-terminal region of the cell-associated protein. To characterize the proteolytic enzyme responsible for ACEP secretion, we employed rabbit renal proximal tubular epithelial cells and demonstrated significant inhibition of secretion by compound 3, a hydroxamic acid-based inhibitor of specific metalloproteases. In contrast, the inhibitors of chymotrypsin, trypsin, serine, aspartate, and cysteine proteases were ineffective. These results indicate that soluble ACEP production by vascular endothelial and renal epithelial cells, both in vitro and in vivo, is achieved by cleavage removal of its membrane-anchoring COOH-terminal tail by a metalloprotease.

Abstract:
Tinnitus affects 10–15% of the population and tends to increase in frequency among older ages. The published reports have converged on that tinnitus is the sustained neuroplastic changes with aberrant activity residing in the auditory and nonauditory nervous systems that cause the sensation and problem of tinnitus. Clinically tinnitus remains as a subjective symptom and cannot be evaluated objectively. Our previous study has demonstrated the significantly different intensity dependence of auditory cortical evoked potential (ACEP) amplitudes to pure-tone stimuli recorded at some midline scalp electrodes between normal controls and tinnitus patients. Although ACEP test has been well known for its excellent temporal resolution of milliseconds and the latency and amplitude of ACEPs give ample information about the auditory processing of tinnitus, these measurements at each electrode deliver insufficient information about the spatial correlation among different cortical locations. According to the neurophysiological model of tinnitus, temporal and spatial information are both necessary and complementary to study the underlying mechanisms of problem tinnitus. Thus the purpose of this study was to demonstrate the spatial presentations of ACEP N1–P2 of normal controls and tinnitus patients. In this work, a program has been developed to translate the ACEPs recorded at 30 scalp electrodes to a two-dimensional presentation of isoelectric topography and current source density. The differences of intensity dependence about N1–P2 noted with previous study are reviewed on the two spatial presentations and compared between control subjects and tinnitus patients, while the patterns of correlation are demonstrated and compared with those recorded by functional brain imaging techniques like PET and fMRI.

We say thatHhas the Almost Congruence Extension Property (ACEP) inFif there is a finite set of nontrivial elements{\digamma\subset H}such that for any normal subgroupNofHone has{H\cap\langle\kern-1.422638pt\langle N\rangle\kern-1.422638pt\rangle_{F}=N}whenever{N\cap\digamma=\emptyset}. In this paper, we provide a sufficient condition for a subgroup of a free group to not possess ACEP. It also shows that any finitely generated subgroup of a free group satisfies some generalization of ACEP.

Abstract:
Pengamatan parameter efisiensi reproduksi dilakukan dengan menghitung nilai Days Open (DO), Conception Rate (CR), Service per Conception (S/C) dan First Service.

Abstract:
Serotonergic and peptidergic modulation of buccal muscle contraction at an identified neuromuscular synapse in the African giant snail Achatina fulica was examined. A pair of excitatory motoneurons of the radula protractor was identified in the buccal ganglia and these were named B10 neurons. Pharmacological experiments revealed the B10s to be cholinergic. The serotonergic cerebral neuron v-CDN enhanced B10-evoked contraction of the radula protractor, and it is suggested that this effect is mediated postsynaptically by serotonin released from the v-CDN terminals. Immunohistochemical analyses revealed that the B10 motoneurons contained an Achatina cardioexcitatory peptide-1 (ACEP-1)-like substance in their cell body, axon and terminals in the radula protractor. From electron microscopic observation, the ACEP-1-like immunoreactive substance was found to be localized in dense-cored vesicles but not in clear vesicles in the nerve terminals. ACEP-1 applied to the radula protractor markedly enhanced B10-evoked contraction of the muscle by increasing the amplitude of excitatory junction potentials (EJPs). The increase of EJP amplitude in the presence of the peptide was probably due to the increased release of acetylcholine from the terminals of B10. It is suggested that the cholinergic motoneuron B10 uses ACEP-1 as an excitatory cotransmitter.
