Abstract:
While many technological solutions have been implemented for accident detection, not many have focused on accident prevention. Accidents have been an everlasting concern as they have caused heavy injuries and death tolls on a large scale. There has been an everlasting increase in the rate of accidents and violation of traffic laws and wrongdoers managing to escape from the legal ramifications of predominantly Hit-and-Run cases. This entails a system to alleviate the occurrence of accidents and deaths caused. Focusing on this, a viable solution that focuses on preventing such circumstances by detecting accident-causing behaviour has been proposed. If accidents take place, it ensures the victim gets their rightful compensation. The research encompasses two modules, Prevention and Recovery. The prevention module uses Deep Learning and Computer Vision to detect whether the driver is drowsy and issues an alert employing CNN. The recovery module focuses on detecting occurrences of accidents and acquiring information about the parties involved in the same. Moreover, the prototype detects drowsiness, and detects and saves the accident footage in real-time enabling information acquisition.

Abstract:
Speed is one of the primary wellsprings of vehicle disasters. Many lives could have been saved on the off chance that emergency organizations had gotten the setback information and contacted them on time. This venture manages a mishap recognition framework. In case of a mishap, it involves different parts to call heroes for help. Effective programmed mishap identification with programmed warning of salvage administrations with data about the area of the mishap is a central prerequisite to saving significant living souls. The proposed framework manages mishap cautioning and recognition. Peruse the specific scope and longitude of the mishap vehicle and send this data to the closest crisis administrations. The motivation behind this undertaking is to perceive mishaps and ready salvage administrations on time. As of late the vast majority of the mishap happen because of laziness of drivers in vehicles and trucks. Yearly 1200 passings and 76000 harmed. This methodology incorporates examination of police detailed accident information, top to bottom nearby examinations promptly following an accident of the general driving populace. The present examination was intended to give additional data to traffic wellbeing and others could use in their endeavors to decrease the quantity of sleepy related accidents. than anywhere else in the world, including the more populous China. Calling road fatalities an "epidemic" that will become the world's fifth biggest killer by 2030, the report said while rich nations had been able to lower their death rates, these were sharply on the rise in the third world. It said 90% of deaths on the world's roads occur in low and middle-income countries (21.5 and 19.5 per lakh of population, respectively) though they have just 48% of all registered vehicles. The statistics for India are chilling. At least 13 people die every hour in road accidents in the country, the latest report of the National Crime Records Bureau reveals. However, road safety experts say the real numbers could be higher since many of these accident cases are not even reported. "There is no estimate of how many injured in road accidents die a few hours or days after the accident," points out RohitBaluja, member of the UN Road Safety Collaboration and Commission of Global Road Safety representing Asia. Based on the records, India will become the world number 1 in Road Deaths due to the poor record of average 13 die every hour, which is 1.14 lakh per year. This will make India to be the first place. This causative information about the accidents is the intent to develop the proposed technology as scientific traffic engineering wings to reduce the fatalities due to accidents. This proposed methodology is the automatic system which will provide the solution for identifying the accident location. Nowadays accidents are increasing at an alarming rate. Speed is the cause of most number of traffic accidents. In this project, we first applied Eclat algorithm Keywords— Eclat algorithm, clustering, classification,GPS to group the crime locations into 0 level, 1 level, 2 level accident tracking, Accident.

Abstract:
Traffic accidents are inevitable events that occur unexpectedly and unintentionally. Therefore, analyzing traffic data is essential to prevent fatal accidents. Traffic data analysis provided insights into significant factors and driver behavioral patterns causing accidents. Combining these patterns and the prediction model into an accident prevention system can assist in reducing and preventing traffic accidents. This study applied various machine learning models, including neural network, ordinal regression, decision tree, support vector machines, and logistic regression to have a robust prediction model in injury severity. The trained model provides timely and accurate predictions on accident occurrence and injury severity using real-world traffic accident datasets. We proposed an informative negative data generator using feature weights derived from multinomial logit regression to balance the non-fatal accident data. Our aim is to resolve the bias that happens in the favor of the majority class as well as performance improvement. We evaluated the overall and class-level performance of the machine learning models based on accuracy and mean squared error scores. Three hidden layered neural networks outperformed the other models with 0.254 ± 0.038 and 0.173 ± 0.016 MSE scores for two different datasets. A neural network, which provides more accurate and reliable results, should be integrated into the accident prevention system.

Abstract:
Enterprises have accumulated a large number of accident data resources for safety production, but the corresponding safety production information processing capacity is insufficient, resulting in the value of massive data not being effectively used, and further restricting the in-depth study of accidents. Enterprise safety managers cannot learn lessons from historical accidents in a timely manner and effectively prevent them, leading to repeated occurrences of similar accidents. Therefore, based on the above problems, this paper aims to construct a mining process for the cause of safety production accidents based on LDA topic model. According to the accident data structure, select a data mining method suitable for its structural characteristics to maximize the utilization of accident data. According to the sequence of initial identification of accident information, discovery of safety problems, and transformation of safety knowledge, the valuable information in historical accident data can be fully excavated, so as to provide effective suggestions for accident prevention.

Abstract:
Vehicle accident prevention system can be a major step in accident safety on mountain roads. In past 100s of accident and death on mountain roads, some even fall from the cliff which are not traced after that have been noticed. Such accidents not only cause loss of human life but also major loss financially not just to the individual but also the government. Mountain roads are narrow and any such accidents can force it to be closed for hours which can be a huge issue. This project addresses the pressing issue of mountain road safety through the deployment of two strategically positioned ultrasonic sensors in U curves. The primary objective is to detect oncoming vehicles, precisely measure distances, and promptly activate warnings on the opposite side. By leveraging real-time data and proactive measures, the system aims to significantly reduce accidents in challenging terrains. The integration of red LED lights and a buzzer enhances visibility and auditory awareness. This innovative approach reflects a crucial step forward in accident prevention, particularly in mountainous regions, where traditional safety measures fall short.

<span>Traffic accidents are a widespread concern globally, causing loss of life, injuries, and economic burdens. Efficiently classifying accident types is crucial for effective accident management and prevention. This study proposes a practical approach for traffic accident classification using IndoBERT, a language model specifically trained for Indonesian. The classification task involves sorting accidents into four classes: car accidents, motorcycle accidents, bus accidents, and others. The proposed model achieves a 94% accuracy in categorizing these accidents. To assess its performance, we compared IndoBERT with traditional methods, random forest (RF) and support vector machine (SVM), which achieved accuracy scores of 85% and 87%, respectively. The IndoBERT-based model demonstrates its effectiveness in handling the complexities of the Indonesian language, providing a useful tool for traffic accident classification and contributing to improved accident management and prevention strategies.</span>

Abstract:
Abstract The inherent benefits of an accident prevention program are generally known only after an accident has occurred. The purpose of implementation of the program is to minimize the number of accidents and cost of damages. Allocation of resources to implement accident prevention program is vital because it is difficult to estimate the extent of damage caused by an accident. Accurate fatal accident predictions can provide a meaningful data that can be used to implement accident prevention program in order to minimize the cost of accidents. This paper forecast the fatal accidents of factories in India by using Auto-Regressive Integrating Moving Average Method (ARIMA) model. Accident data for the available period 1980 to 2013 was collected from the Labour bureau, Government of India to analyze the long term forecasts. Different diagnostic tests are applied in order to check the adequacy of the fitted models. The results show that ARIMA (0, 0, 1) is suitable model for prediction of fatal injuries. The number of fatal accidents is forecasted for the period 2014 to 2019. These results suggest that the policy makers and the Indian labour ministry must focus attention toward increasing fatal accidents and try to find out the reasons. It is also an opportunity for the policy makers to develop policies which may help in minimizing the number fatal accidents.

Abstract:
This study investigates a critical hazard identification method for railway accident prevention. A new accident causation network is proposed to model the interaction between hazards and accidents. To realize consistency between the most likely and shortest causation paths in terms of hazards to accidents, a method for measuring the length between adjacent nodes is proposed, and the most-likely causation path problem is first transformed to the shortest causation path problem. To identify critical hazard factors that should be alleviated for accident prevention, a novel critical hazard identification model is proposed based on a controllability analysis of hazards. Five critical hazard identification methods are proposed to select critical hazard nodes in an accident causality network. A comparison of results shows that the combination of an integer programming-based critical hazard identification method and the proposed weighted direction accident causality network considering length has the best performance in terms of accident prevention.

Abstract:
Ensuring road safety is a complex and multifaceted problem. Therefore, measures to prevent road accidents (hereinafter referred to as road accidents) should be comprehensive. Accident prevention activities directly affect their dynamics. Since the line between them lies in the sphere of consequences, and violations can be and often are completely identical, preventive work aimed at preventing road accidents can be generally qualitatively homogeneous. Organizational support of preventive measures is the content of road accident prevention and it is in their implementation that the specific features of this type of prevention as an independent subsystem of social prevention are revealed. The core of the prevention system is the development and implementation of a set of preventive measures. Prevention of offenses is determined by the general goal of social prevention — to prevent offenses, to prevent antisocial behavior, and is carried out at the same levels, in the same forms and by the same means, taking into account the delicacy. In this area, it is impossible to do without the achievements of technological progress. In all EU member states, without exception, technical means of ensuring road safety have become widely used.

In this study, the interrelationships among accident prevention functions targeting leakage accidents in cathode material manufacturing process were analyzed using the FRAM (Functional Resonance Analysis Method) method. 17 system functions of accident prevention were derived from the target accidents. Each function was connected and developed into six aspects such as input, output, prerequisites, resources, control, and time. And, the causes of leakage accidents in complex interactions were analyzed in detail. Results showed that the complex interaction and ripple effects of functional variability were analyzed as the cause of the accident unlike the existing root cause analysis (RCA) that deals with simple cause-effect relationships. Specific response plans were derived, including systematic management of operation plans, continuous monitoring of facilities, and strengthening of worker training and information sharing mechanisms. The FRAM method confirmed that it can serve as an effective tool for accident prevention in considered new chemical processes. To predict the occurrence of accidents in the grid, we introduce an accident detector that combines the power of a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) with a Deep Neural Network (DNN). Then, hierarchical DNNs are supposed to be an accident risk classifier to estimate the risk of each cell in the accident-occurrence grid. The proposed system can effectively reduce instances with no traffic accidents. Furthermore, we introduce the concept of the Accident Risk Index (ARI) to better represent the severity of risk at each cell. Also, we consider all the explanatory variables, such as dangerous driving behaviors, traffic mobility, and safety facility information, that can be related to traffic accidents. To improve the prediction accuracy, we further take into consideration all the explanatory variables, such as dangerous driving behaviors, traffic mobility, and safety facility information, that can be related to traffic accidents. In the experiment, we highlight the benefits of our method for urban traffic accident management by significantly improving model performance compared to the baselines. The feasibility and applicability of the proposed system are validated in the data of Daejeon City, Republic of Korea. The proposed prediction system can dynamically advise and recommend commuters, traffic management systems, and city planners on alternatives, optimizations, and interventions.

Road accidents are increasing day by day because riders do not use helmet and due to alcohol consumption. A huge amount in today's world people die in traffic accidents. Accidents can occur when using a smart helmet detected. The Project Goal is to design smart helmet in case of an accident alcohol avoidance and alcohol detection. The IR sensor checks if the person is wearing it helmet or not. The gas sensor recognizes the alcohol substance in the rider breath. If the person doesn’t have a helmet and if they are consuming alcohol, a bike won't start. If there are no signs of alcohol and a helmet is worn, then only the bike starts. The moment the rider met with an accident, the sensor recognizes the condition of the motorcycle and reports the accident. Then The GPS in the bike sends the location of the accident site to the main server nearby hospitals.

Recent growth in technology makes our life faster and easier. This development in technologies leads to enhance the traffic hazards. In this paper, Internet of Things based accident prevention and detection system is proposed to deduce accidents and save human life. The vehicle performance has been continuously monitored for safety purposes. This technique is annoying to maintain speed balance to avoid accident and provide safety to the driver. Hence, a novel approach is proposed to avoid accidents and save the victims while accidents occur. Sensors are exploited to give alarm 'ON' when distance between two vehicles is too short. If accident happens, then the camera is automatically turned on and captures the images around 180 degree angles. This emergency alert information including the location is transferred to nearest police station, ambulance service and relatives through GSM modem. The major component of the project includes a Arduino, motion sensor, touch sensors, relay and GSM modem.

Abstract: In modern societies one of the main factors that increases mortalities is Traffic accidents. Everyday a large number of human lives are lost due to accidents and delay in calling the rescue services. Therefore, the elimination of delay in rescuing traffic accidents victims is very important and needs to be addressed extensively. With the rapid developments in embedded systems, GPS and mobile communications, it is becoming possible to develop an in-vehicle automatic accident and theft detection and reporting systems. Such systems utilize sensors provided in the vehicle and mobile communication systems to report the location of the vehicle in the case of accident or theft. In this paper an efficient system that automatically notifies the emergency and police services about the accident or the theft and also guides them to the spot. In the case of accident the system detect the event by the Crash Sensor of the Air Bag System installed in the vehicle. If these observations are above a preset critical point, a controller triggers a message to notify the Emergency Services. While theft detection is performed by sensing the existence of Data tag Car System. For both cases the system obtains the locationof the vehicle by a GPS receiver and send SMS through GSM/GPRS system.

Abstract From 2016-2018 there were 120 fuel station accidents in Indonesia. Fuel station accidents may harm not only workers but also the public. Major accidents in fuel stations have caused multiple fatalities and injuries. Various research regarding fuel stations has been done, but research on the role of the community in preventing fuel station accidents is limited. Therefore, studying the cause and effect of fuel station accidents is essential. The study aims to collect accident information and determine the impact, cause, and possible prevention programs for fuel station accidents. Study methods use data collection and classification, followed by qualitative analysis. Data were collected from the top 10 national news portals and tabulated in a structured manner. Twenty-nine fuel station accidents were identified and evaluated. These data were then categorized and analyzed to obtain the dominant effects of accidents. Accident causes were also investigated to provide an understanding and propose accident prevention programs adopted from previous research in various fields. It is concluded that fuel station accidents in Indonesia are dominated by vehicle fires, which involve consumer vehicles. The causes of accidents vary, but most of them were concerning the technical condition of vehicles, and a few were unsafe operations. To prevent future accidents, it is essential to ensure compliance with regulations and standards of facilities and equipment. Furthermore, community involvement is also crucial. Therefore, more efforts are needed to increase public awareness of fuel station hazards and how the community can be involved in preventing future accidents.

Abstract:
Pertamina EP Regional 2 Zone 7 (PEP R2Z7), a section of PT Pertamina EP (PT PEP), the National Oil Company of Indonesia, is an upstream Oil and Gas Company that operates in West Java Indonesia. The company conducts high-risk activities in exploration and production to extract oil and gas. According to the accident historical data, 40 work-related accident cases occurred in PEP R2Z7 in the period from 2018 to 2021. Accidents are caused by multiple factors that require programs to prevent a similar accident. The established accident prevention program in the company is generated from all accident data in PT PEP working areas around Indonesia which consist of 14 Zone. Because of these conditions, the accident prevention program becomes out of focus and needs to be prioritized based on accident case data. Accident prevention program priority is determined by the combination of Kepner Tregoe Method and Pertamina DNV SCAT accident root cause. The combination method is used to describe the root cause of an accident case, identify the accident prevention program criteria, and relevant alternatives to accident prevention programs based on the accident historical data, and choose the alternatives. The alternative solution is consist of the enhancement of established prevention programs and proposed the new prevention program. Some of Established prevention programs are still relevant with the historical data in Pertamina Region 2 Zone 7 such as Iman Campaign or Strengthen Work in Progress (WIP) Assessment. Meanwhile, some of the new proposed programs are Task Observation/Safety Awareness Supervision or Buddy System work for high-risk job. The implementation of the alternative solution is embedded inthe Objectives Target Program (OTP) of Health Safety Security and Environment (HSSE) PEP R2Z7. The OTP contains the program purpose, detail program, the output and the evidence of the program, schedule, and progress monitoring of the program. The proposed alternative solution is expected to reduce the number of accident cases in PEP R2Z7.

Abstract:
To reduce damage caused by chemical accidents, it is important to establish a prevention system for chemical accidents. The first step in the prevention of chemical accidents is to screen the high-risk chemical plants. Risk index, one of the screening methods, can indirectly estimate the risk at each chemical plant. For calculating the risk index, the probability of an accident needs to be estimated, which requires complex calculation and confidential data from plants that are difficult to obtain. Therefore, we developed a new index, the accident probability index, to estimate accident probability in chemical plants using readily accessible data. We conducted a literature survey on the existing risk indices and interviewed chemical experts and government chemical managers to select surrogate indicators related to chemical accidents, and four indicators were chosen: hazardous characteristics of chemicals, handling volume, records of accident frequency, and national accident frequency of chemicals. We calculated the accident probability index for 4520 chemical plants, and index value means was 5.324 (95% confidence interval (CI): 3.156, 7.493). An increase by 10 in the index value denoted a 1.06-fold (95% CI: 1.04, 1.08) increase in the odds ratio for actual accident occurrence. The accident frequency of the fourth quartile of the index value was 4.30 times (95% CI: 1.72, 10.75) higher than those of the first quartile.

Abstract:
The road accidents are recently increasing at a fast rate. Most of them happen because of the carelessness of the driver of the vehicles on the road. THE ACCIDENT PREVENTION MECHANISM IN VEHICLES is an attempt to reduce such road accidents by implementing some extra features on the vehicles which can be controlled by software. This project is developed on the basis of certain assumptions. 1.Most of the accidents are happened due to the carelessness or the drowsiness of the driver. 2.The driver may not detect the obstacle which comes in front of the Vehicles, from a safe distance. 3.The different light systems of the vehicles are not properly used whenever needed. This project tries to minimize the accidents which may be caused by the inability of the driver to take sudden actions in a panic situation. If the driver does not respond properly within a time slot, then the vehicle automatically steers to a safe space and continues the journey safely. This system automatically switches on the different types of lights in the vehicle such as head light, hazard lights, brake lights and indicators whenever needed. It includes a special wearable spectacle to detect the drowsiness of the driver. It provides the safety mechanism by invoking the buzzer and safe parking, when it identifies that the driver is asleep by analyzing the eye blink. This paper relates to the system for preventing accidents which contains IR sensors, Ultrasound sensors, LDR sensors and works according to a logically developed safe program which is imprinted on the microcontroller using Arduino IDE. This system is developed to overcome the inability of the vehicles to detect the obstacle from the front side and the drowsiness of the driver and do the necessary safe actions thus, reducing the road accidents.

Abstract:
The railways are the most common and flexible mode of transportation in the majority of the world's urban areas. The railway is a popular, inexpensive, and pleasurable mode of transportation. It is accessible to people from all walks of life. The rail transportation infrastructure is essential for travel in the modern day; nonetheless, numerous accidents occur on railway lines as a result of reckless driving, particularly during morning and evening rush hours, and pedestrians crossing while using mobile phones. To prevent railway accidents, a better technique must be invented, thus we created this project to tell pedestrians when a train is coming within a specific distance, so ensuring their safety and providing the security department with an alarm signal. The project entitled "IOT based Railway Accident Prevention and Monitoring System" is based on the Internet of Things and a live sensor database, which offers a method for preventing railway accidents. Its objective is to keep people safe by employing sirens to inform them of potential accidents at railroad grade crossings, to monitor any potentially hazardous conduct that might cause an accident at a railway grade crossing, and to provide the department and a person with an alert signal.

The Padang-Solok road section is one of the national road sections that frequently experiences accidents every year. The aim of this research is to determine the factors that cause accidents on the Jalan Lubuk Paraku Sitinjau Lauik section based on the accident rate, and find out alternative prevention solutions future traffic accidents. This type of research is descriptive research using the Accident Rate method. The factors reviewed are the total number of accidents that occur and the length of the road section studied. An Accident Rate value > 1.0 will be classified as a Black Spot, while a value < 1.0 will be classified as a Black Site. The results of the accident analysis based on the Accident Rate can be identified in three road sections that show a high accident rate, namely more than 1.0. The highest accident rate was on the Panorama 2 – Padang-Solok City Limits road section at 2.37 accidents/km.year. The most dominant factor causing traffic accidents is the human factor. After an inspection was carried out, the brakes failed due to the large number of descents or steep inclines which made the car brakes not function properly. An alternative solution for preventing accidents is to create a temporary stopping place at the Padang - Solok city limits to cool down the engine and car brakes, repair traffic signs that are not yet permanent and create a special brake rescue lane for broken brakes at Panorama 2 and near the rice fields PU Mes.

Abstract:
The article considers an approach to motion accidents prevention systems design for high-speed marine crafts. The proposed approach to the development of these systems is based on following idea: When developing motion accident prevention system, two tasks are solved. The first is determination of the fact of imminent motion accident. The second is activation of the automatic control algorithm that ensures the prevention of motion accident. It is proposed to determinate the fact of the imminent occurrence of a motion accident as the output of state variables from safety region in state-space. When high speed marine craft leaves the safety domain of the state space, control algorithm of returning state variables to safety region is being started. The advantage of this kind of motion accident prevention systems built on this principle is that there is no need to localize the fault for returning control object to the safety region. Safety region estimation based on Lyapunov function is proposed. Accident prevention controller with minimum travel time returning to safety region is considered. As an example, control law for preventing accidents in the movement of an air cushion vehicle pitching is considered, bang-bang and PID controller simulation results are presented, actuator dynamics influence is considered.

Abstract:
A Bayesian network–based risk analysis approach is proposed to analyse the risk factors influencing maritime transport accidents. Comparing with previous studies in the relevant literature, it reveals new features including (1) new primary data directly derived from maritime accident records by two major databanks Marine Accident Investigation Branch and Transportation Safety Board of Canada from 2012 to 2017, (2) rational classification of the factors with respect to each of the major types of maritime accidents for effective prevention, and (3) quantification of the extent to which different combinations of the factors influence each accident type. The network modelling the interdependency among the risk factors is constructed by using a naïve Bayesian network and validated by sensitivity analysis. The results reveal that the common risk factors among different types of accidents are ship operation, voyage segment, ship type, gross tonnage, hull type, and information. Scenario analysis is conducted to predict the occurrence likelihood of different types of accidents under various situations. The findings provide transport authorities and ship owners with useful insights for maritime accident prevention.

Abstract:
Construction is a sector characterized by a high likelihood of accidents, among the factors that have the potential to reduce such accidents, the design stage is important to reduce risks in the life cycle of the enterprise. The need to reduce risks on the construction site early and proactively has fostered the development of digital tools for designs. This study aimed to conduct a systematic review of the literature on the development and application of digital tools capable of identifying security risks in designs and examine them to point out their characteristics and limitations. The review of the literature was based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses statement. The research showed that although the use of digital tools has great potential for impact on risk mitigation in the design stage, they are still little used and have not reached their maximum potential. In addition, this systematic review indicates possibilities of use, which include the automation of risk verification and provision of security measures, as well as limitations, as the absence of consideration of the dynamism of the work in digital tools. Therefore, the present work presents a basis to help structure future applied research in the area.

Out of 760 accidents, 52.9% were vehicle-to-vehicle collision where agricultural machinery operators involved as a secondary party(less responsible to accidents), 25.9% were single agricultural machinery accidents, and 21.2% were vehicle-to-vehicle collision where agricultural machinery operators involved as a primary party(more responsible to accidents). 95.8% of the accident-involved agricultural machinery operators were male, 45.9% were in their 70s, and the main types of agricultural machinery involved in the accidents were power tillers (61.6%), tractors (11.3%), and unidentified types (22.0%). Results of the multivariable logistic regression showed higher death risks for elderly drivers, single machinery accidents (10.0 times higher than primary party accidents), power tiller accidents (1.7 times higher than tractor accidents), and accidents on downhill roads (1.7 times higher than flat or other roads). Different accident characteristics appeared based on involved parties, suggesting the need for specific preventive measures considering each type's accident characteristics and representative accident forms.
