Abstract:

Les etats de haut spin des noyaux #1#7#7pt, #1#8#2pt, #1#8#3##1#8#8pt, #1#8#3ir et #1#8#6##1#8#8au, produits dans des reactions nucleaires comme #1#7#0yb(#1#6o,4n)#1#8#2pt, #1#6#3dy(#2#4mg,5n)#1#8#2pt, etc. , ont ete etudies a l'aide de plusieurs multidetecteurs: lotus, chateau de cristal, etc. , en ligne avec des tandems (ipn orsay, universite de mcmaster). Des mesures de coincidences et separement, de distribution angulaires, ont ete effectuees pour chaque reactions pour etablir les schemas de niveaux et attribuer spins et parite. Pour les noyaux de platine, les schemas de niveaux sont semblables et presentent presque la meme structure de bandes (numerote de 1 a 8). Les predictions du cranked shell model indiquent clairement que sous l'effet d'une rotation rapide les paires de nucleons ont tendance a se briser et a aligner leurs moments angulaires avec l'axe de rotation. L'analyse dans le cadre de ce modele a permis d'etablir fermement que le bris de protons de la couche h#9#/#2 est observe et qu'il deforme le noyau vers des valeurs positives de triaxialite. L'alignement de cette paire de protons resulte en une augmentation marquee du rapport des probabilites de transitions reduites b(m1)/b(e2). On montre aussi que cette interpretation est en bon accord avec des calculs recents de srt (surfaces de routhiens totaux) ainsi que des calculs dans le cadre du modele du rotor+particule(cranking)

Thus, once more Brazilian society faces the topic of Political Reform. The alterations that happened during the past few years in the country s political structure did not contribute towards improving representation in National Congress; such reality causes Brazil to face a serious crisis in democratic representation. There were, however, specific alterations, such as the possibility of reelection for Executive seats; the need for legal accountability reports for candidates undergoing electoral process, and at its end, greater transparency regarding electoral campaign financers; different time of affiliation in political party requirements for those intending to run for office. After this debate on democracy, there will be a moment where a reinterpretation on the theory of popular sovereignty made by Roberto Viciano Pastor and Rubén Martinez Dalmau, known as Latin-America new constitutionalism, shall be addressed. To do so, the experiences on constitutional changes in Venezuela, Ecuador e Bolivia will be used as subsidy for demonstrating an alternative to political reform process. The social debate that surfaced after the 2014 elections, known to Electoral Justice as General Elections (Country President, State Governors, Senators, Federal, State and Federal District Congressmen), did not yet show any of the results Brazil expected, such as the attempt to moralize political campaigns and political management as a whole. Corruption scandals, especially regarding private funding through donations to electoral campaigns, were the real engine powering obsolete gears found in National Congress. Many bills, as well as many Constitution amendment proposals dealt solely with points that came from Electoral Law, such as district voting and its many juridical understandings and ramifications, electoral campaign funding, proportional vote and the possibility of reelection for Executive leading seats. And, within this perspective, a third chapter will address the political reform currently being processed in National Congress, by means of the Special Committee created to discuss this topic, as well as the proposal of an amendment to the Federal Constitution which shall guide future constitutional and legislative modifications. By the end, there shall be, within final considerations, the results of research undertaken on the base text used in the aforementioned committee, PEC n. 113/2005 from Federal Congress, and its consequences in the event of it being approved the way it is currently written. Assim, mais uma vez a sociedade brasileira está diante do tema Reforma Política. As modificações ocorridas nos últimos anos na estrutura política não contribuíram para o aprimoramento da representatividade no Congresso Nacional, tanto isso é verdade que o Brasil enfrenta uma grave crise de representatividade democrática. Houve, entretanto, mudanças pontuais, como a possibilidade da reeleição para os cargos do Poder Executivo, a necessidade de prestações de contas dos candidatos durante o processo eleitoral e ao final dele, uma maior transparência sobre os financiadores das campanhas eleitorais, prazos diferenciados de permanência mínima nos partidos políticos por parte daqueles que desejam concorrer a cargos eletivos. Após esse debate sobre a democracia, haverá um segundo momento onde será abordada a releitura da teoria da soberania popular realizada por Roberto Viciano Pastor e Rubén Martinez Dalmau conhecida como novo constitucionalismo latino-americano. Para tanto, serão utilizadas, como subsídio, as experiências de mudanças constitucionais ocorridas no Equador, Venezuela e Bolívia, a fim de demonstrar como um processo de reforma política consistente pode favorecer o processo de consolidação da democracia no Brasil. O debate social surgido após as eleições de 2014, conhecidas perante a Justiça Eleitoral como Eleições Gerais (Presidente da República, Governador de Estado, Senadores, Deputados Federais, Estaduais e Distritais), não apresentou ainda o resultado esperado pelo Brasil, qual seja, a tentativa de moralização das campanhas eleitorais e da gestão política como um todo. Escândalos de corrupção, principalmente sobre o financiamento privado por meio de doações às campanhas eleitorais, foram o verdadeiro motor para movimentar uma engrenagem obsoleta encontrada no Congresso Nacional. Os diversos projetos de lei, bem como as diversas propostas de emenda à Constituição tratavam exclusivamente de pontos oriundos do Direito Eleitoral, a exemplo do voto distrital e suas diversas ramificações e compreensões jurídicas, financiamento das campanhas eleitorais, voto proporcional e possibilidade de reeleição para os chefes do Poder Executivo. E, dentro dessa perspectiva, um terceiro capítulo abordará a reforma política em trâmite no Congresso Nacional, por meio da Comissão Especial criada para debater esse tema, bem como a proposta de emenda à Constituição Federal que servirá de norte para as futuras modificações constitucionais e legislativas. Ter-se-á, nas considerações finais, o resultado das pesquisas empreendidas sobre o texto base utilizado na referida comissão, a PEC nº 113/2015 da Câmara Federal e suas consequências, caso seja aprovada da maneira como se encontra redigida.

Abstract:

Conferindo-se a importância do Direito de Propriedade, bem como os novos anseios trazidos pelo Direito Urbanístico e pelo Direito Ambiental, de garantir à coletividade o princípio constitucional de uma sociedade mais justa, o presente estudo objetiva uma análise do direito de propriedade como um direito, não mais absoluto, mas sim, um direito que somente é garantido ao proprietário que faça sua propriedade cumprir sua função social e sua função ambiental, pois não se concebe mais uma propriedade que somente atenda aos interesses individuais. A propriedade privada urbana precisa ser benéfica a toda a coletividade. As razões que justificam o desenvolvimento deste trabalho são muito relevantes, não só por ser o direito de propriedade um direito real por excelência, mas sim por ser um direito com obrigações sociais e ambientais, pois a sociedade brasileira está sedenta por melhores condições estruturais para as áreas urbanizáveis. Objetiva-se uma avaliação do direito de propriedade e suas funções, do direito urbanístico e do Estatuto da Cidade, na construção de cidades ambientalmente sustentáveis e que primem pelo bem-estar social, fazendo com que a propriedade privada urbana cumpra sua função socioambiental no seio das cidades, para a promoção de suas funções social e ambiental, promovendo o desenvolvimento e organização do meio urbano com justiça social e equidade entre seus cidadãos, através do plano diretor, conforme prescreve o artigo 182 da Constituição Federal. Urban private property must be beneficial to the whole collectivity. The reasons justifying the development of this work are very relevant, not only for the right of ownership that became a real law par excellence, but rather for being a right with environmental and social obligations, because the brazilian society is thirsty for best structural conditions for the urban areas. Objective an evaluation of property rights and its functions, urban law and the City’s Statute, in the construction of environmentally sustainable cities that excel by their social well-being, making the urban private property honor its environmental function within cities, for the promotion of their social and environmental functions, promoting the development and organization of the urban environment with social justice and equity among its citizens, through the master plan, as prescribed in article 182 of the Federal Constitution.

Abstract:

A la Memòria d’Investigació l’autor va constatar que de 1779 a 1814 una part de la població mallorquina va apostar pel liberalisme. Ara, es respon a si Mallorca va ser refractària a aquest corrent polític o, altrament, les mesures que s’endegaren per les autoritats foren impulsades i compartides durant el Trienni Liberal. Analitzades les fonts s’ha constatat que a l’illa existien persones amb una actitud positiva envers la nova cultura moderna, que durant el sexenni absolutista hi havia nuclis de liberals que van possibilitar la continuïtat d’aquest moviment, que la Diputació liberal va funcionar amb normalitat, que la seva política defensava els interessos mallorquins, que la Milícia Nacional Voluntària comptava amb un número considerable de milicians, que prou persones participaren en les associacions liberals, i que la reacció no va comptar amb la mateixa capacitat d’influència que a d’altres zones de l’Estat. Per això, es considera contrastada la hipòtesi. En la memoria de Investigación el autor constató que de 1779 a 1814 una parte de la población mallorquina apostó por el liberalismo. Ahora se responde a si Mallorca fue refractaria a esta corriente política o, contrariamente, las medidas emprendidas por las autoridades fueron impulsadas y compartidas en el Trienio Liberal. Analizadas las fuentes se constata que en la isla existían personas con una actitud positiva hacia la nueva cultura moderna, que durante el sexenio absolutista había núcleos de liberales que posibilitaron la continuidad de este movimiento, que la Diputación liberal funcionó con normalidad, que su política defendía los intereses mallorquines, que la Milicia Nacional Voluntaria contó con un número considerable de milicianos, que bastantes personas participaron en las asociaciones liberales, y que la reacción no contó con la misma capacidad de influencia que en otras zonas del Estado. Por todo eso, se considera contrastada la hipótesis In the Research Report the author found that from 1779 to 1814 a part of the Majorcan population opted for liberalism. Now, it will be answered the question whether Mallorca was refractory to this political current or otherwise, the measures arranged by the authorities were promoted and shared during the Liberal Triennium. After analyzing the sources the following facts have been confirmed: there were people on the island with a positive attitude towards the new modern culture; during the absolutist sexennium there were groups of liberal people who made possible the continuation of this movement; the liberal Deputation worked with normality and their policy defended the Majorcan interests; the Volunteer National Militia had a large number of militiamen; quite a lot of people participated in the liberal associations; and the reaction did not count with the same capacity of influence than in other areas in the State. Abstract:

Se analiza el proceso de confrontación entre la revolución y la contrarrevolución que se desarrolló a lo largo del Trienio Liberal en Cataluña (1820-1823), sin olvidar el contexto español y europeo. En la primera parte se estudia el proceso revolucionario desde la proclamación de la Constitución y la reacción de las potencias absolutistas europeas, hasta la institucionalización y consolidación del sistema constitucional mediante los nuevos ayuntamientos, las diputaciones, los Jefes políticos, las Cortes, la Milicia Nacional, las Sociedades Patrióticas y las sociedades secretas. En la segunda parte se analiza la liquidación del Antiguo Régimen mediante la política tributaria, el mercado nacional, la consolidación dela propiedad absoluta, la desamortización, la reducción de los diezmos y la abolición del sistema señorial. En la tercera prte se explican los primeros problemas y conflictos: las resistencias de la Iglesias, los problemas económicos y sociales (crisis, sequía, epidemia, quintas) y la división del liberalismo. En la cuarta parte se analiza el desarrollo de la contrarrevolución, ramas de las elites contrarrevolucionarias, redes contrarrevolucionarias urbanas, partidas realistas, juntas provinciales y corregimentales, Regencia de Urgel, ejército realista, y extensión de la antirrevolución. En la quinta parte se estudia la confrontación entre constitucionales y realistas, desde la propaganda política y la lucha ideológica, pasando pro la lucha política, y hasta la guerra civil. En la última parte se analizan los dirigentes y las bases sociales y geográficas de la contrarrevolución y la revolución.

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to analyse Saudi poetry in the last quarter of the 20th century, in the light of its historical, cultural and desert dimensions, using the Fugitive Meaning Approach, which was based on Structural Stylistics and Creative Thinking. After describing the history and literary evolution in Saudi Arabia in Chapters One and Two, and explaining the Fugitive Meaning Approach and reviewing the literature in Chapters Three and Four, the four main poetic phenomena in Saudi poetry in the selected period have been studied. The four poetic phenomena, analysed in Chapters Five to Eight, are the qualitative employment of popular heritage, affiliation and the domination of anxiety, Saudi women and the inevitable conflict, and vagueness and the adventure of distinction. Chapter One sets out the historical and cultural background of Saudi Arabia during the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. It focuses on the 20th century by classifying modern Saudi history into five stages, in which some developmental factors and aspects have been included. Chapter Two examines the stages of literary evolutions in Saudi Arabia: Neoclassicism, Romanticism and Modernism. It focuses on the Modernist period in the country, including its history, and general features, such as revolutionary spirit, vagueness, conflict and renewal. In Chapter Three, the Fugitive Meaning Approach, which is based on Structural Stylistics, as a linguistics background, and Creative Thinking, as a means of analysing literary texts, has been described. After explaining Stylistics with its common features, such as foregrounding, deviation and parallelism, Structuralism, Structural Stylistics, Creative Thinking, with its principles, devices, fields and stages, the chapter explains the approach, focusing on its originality and concepts taken from other approaches. Chapter Four reviews the literature on Saudi poetry in the selected period, which covers studying the employment of heritage, the artistic features, intellectual attitudes, the transformation of the poetic movement and the relationship between Saudi poetry and Saudi society. Chapter Five analyses the qualitative employment of popular heritage, illustrated by four poems by Ali al-Dumayni, Sa ad al-HumHumaydin, Jäsim al-Sultayyih and Muhammad al-Thubayti. In Chapter Six, affiliation and the domination of anxiety has been investigated through studying four poems by Abdullah al-Rushayd, Abdullah al-Zayd, Abmad al Sälih and Muhammad al-Mansur. Chapter Seven examines Saudi women and the inevitable conflict by analysing three poems by Thurayyä al Urayyid, Latifah Qäri and Ashjän al-Hindi. Chapter Eight analyses vagueness and the adventure of distinction via studying three poems by Abdullah al-Khashrami, Fawziyyah Abü Khälid and Muhammad al- Dumayni.

O trabalho se propõe a discutir o tema do recrutamento militar para a Guerra da Cisplatina, entre os anos de 1825 e 1828, na província do Rio Grande do Sul, pertencente ao Império do Brasil, e na Província Oriental, atual Uruguai, integrante das Províncias Unidas do Rio da Prata. Através do estudo de correspondências das autoridades militares dos dois lados do conflito e pautado pelas contribuições da “nova história militar” brasileira, se faz um estudo da legislação que regulava essa prática, a interpretação dos comandantes sobre estas, e o impacto causado na população pelos recrutadores. Enfoca-se, nessa última questão, na resistência oferecida pelas populações, de diferentes maneiras, para evitar que os homens fossem servir nos exércitos e milícias que combatiam pelo domínio da Banda Oriental. Para o caso do Brasil, se dá especial atenção à evolução da instituição militar desde o domínio português, através do estudo da legislação que regulava o serviço das armas. The paper aims to discuss the issue of the military recruitment for the Cisplatine War between the years 1825 and 1828 in the province of Rio Grande do Sul, part of the Empire of Brazil, and in the Banda Oriental, now Uruguay, a member of the United Provinces of the Rio de la Plata. Through the study of correspondences from the military authorities on both sides of the conflict and guided by the contributions of the Brazilian "new military history", becomes a study of the legislation that regulated this practice, the interpretation of the commanders on these, and the impact on the population by recruiters. It is focused on that last question, the resistance offered by people, in different ways, to prevent men from serving in armies and militias who fought for dominance of the Banda Oriental. For the case of Brazil, it will be given particular attention to the evolution of the military institution since the Portuguese domination, through the study of legislation that regulated the military service.

anos 1882 e 1891. Por meio de catálogos e pesquisa de campo junto a acervos e coleções, procuramos fazer o levantamento de obras do pintor nesse período. A análise das paisagens foi realizada buscando apreender a percepção do artista em relação aos espaços representados. Em diálogo com a fenomenologia, foram utilizados como articulação teórica a noção de conversibilidade de Merleau-Ponty, o conceito de metaxu como explicado por Emanuele Coccia, e, ainda, a relação entre paisagem in visu e paisagem in situ proposta por Anne Cauquelin. A produção de Caron é contextualizada em sua época, sendo considerados os possíveis diálogos com artistas que lhe eram contemporâneos. Desse modo, ao refletir sobre sua pintura de paisagem, refletimos sobre esse gênero também no âmbito da arte brasileira do século XIX. between the years 1882 and 1891. Through catalogs and field research with collections, we sought to survey the painter's works during that period. The analysis of the landscapes was carried out seeking to apprehend the perception of the artist in relation to the spaces represented. In dialogue with phenomenology, the notion of convertibility of Merleau-Ponty, the concept of metaxu as explained by Emanuele Coccia, and the relation between in visu and in situ landscape proposed by Anne Cauquelin were used as theoretical articulation. The production of Caron is contextualized in his time, being considered the possible dialogues with artists that were him contemporaries. Thus, in considering on his landscape painting, we think over this genre also in the context of nineteenth-century Brazilian art.

Abstract:

Archaeological research into domestic animals has demonstrated that enamel hypoplasia is a potentially valuable tool for investigating a range of archaeological topics including domestication and animal management strategies. However, research into archaeological domestic populations has been hindered by the difficulty of recording and interpreting enamel hypoplasia in high-crowned species such as caprines and cattle. This research develops a methodological approach for recording enamel hypoplasia in high-crowned species which is applied to modern and archaeological caprine populations from three geographically distinct regions (Orkney, Kenya and Iceland). Modern caprines with known life histories are used to investigate baseline factors such as the impact of the environment and nutrition on the frequency and severity of enamel hypoplasia in caprines. These baselines are then used to interpret enamel hypoplasia in archaeological populations. Results indicate that enamel hypoplasia frequency and severity can be linked to variation in the climate /environment as well as nutrition levels in caprine populations. By comparing enamel hypoplasia frequency and severity between populations with similar baseline factors, variation in animal management strategies can be identified. Physiological and seasonal stress events including birth, weaning, and seasonal periods of malnutrition are also identified using enamel hypoplasia in both modern and archaeological populations.

No universo dos impressos da Corte do Rio de Janeiro, um dos grupos políticos que disputou os rumos institucionais da nascente Império do Brasil foi acusado de “tentar mudar a forma de governo”, ou seja, de atentar contra o regime monárquico estabelecido, visando à instauração de uma república. Propomo-nos a analisar o conceito de república veiculado por este grupo de periodistas, – responsável pela editoração dos periódicos Reverbero Constitucional Fluminense, Correio do Rio de Janeiro e O Sylpho – seus projetos para a nascente brasileira, bem como sua possível associação a ideais republicanos. In the Rio de Janeiro court one of the political groups that disputed the institutional directions of the nascent Brazilian Empire, and used the press has one of ours instruments of influence the political process , was accused of “trying to change the form of government”, that is, to attack the established monarchical regime, whit the objective of establishment of a republic. Thesis supervised by Professor Kamal Premaratne. No. of pages in text. (84) Automated Collaborative Filtering (ACF) is one of the most successful strategies available for recommender systems. Application of ACF in more sensitive and critical applications however has been hampered by the absence of better mechanisms to accommodate imperfections (ambiguities and uncertainties in ratings, missing ratings, etc.) that are inherent in user preference ratings and propagate such imperfections throughout the decision making process. Thus one is compelled to make various "assumptions" regarding the user preferences giving rise to predictions that lack sufficient integrity. With its Dempster-Shafer belief theoretic basis, CoFiDS, the automated Collaborative Filtering algorithm proposed in this thesis, can (a) represent a wide variety of data imperfections; (b) propagate the partial knowledge that such data imperfections generate throughout the decision-making process; and (c) conveniently incorporate contextual information from multiple sources. The "soft" predictions that CoFiDS generates provide substantial exibility to the domain expert. Depending on the associated DS theoretic belief-plausibility measures, the domain expert can either render a "hard" decision or narrow down the possible set of predictions to as smaller set as necessary. With its capability to accommodate data imperfections, CoFiDS widens the applicability of ACF, from the more popular domains, such as movie and book recommendations, to more sensitive and critical problem domains, such as medical expert support systems, homeland security and surveillance, etc. We use a benchmark movie dataset and a synthetic dataset to validate CoFiDS and compare it to several existing ACF systems.

An analysis of the various forms of child labour since the industrial revolution illustrqtes that the primary focus was on working children and regulating their admission to employment and conditions of work, as demonstrated by the eventual adoption of the International Labour Organisation's Convention No. 138 concerning the Minimum age for Admission to Employment in 1973. Although the 20th century also ushered in the International censure for human rights violations in the form of supra-national binding conventions on slavery, forced labour and trafficking, these efforts had no specific focus on children and there was no internationally binding legal instrument that recognised the economic exploitation of children extended far beyond mere working conditions and employment issues to commercial sex exploitation, debt bondage and slavery. This thesis sought to evaluate the theoretical and practical soundness of Convention 182 generally in relation to South Africa more specifically.

Cytoplasmic dynein has been implicated in a wide range of functions. Originally characterized as being responsible for retrograde axonal transport, its has also been shown to traffic vesicular organelles (Golgi, endosome and lysosome distribution), transport viral particles to the nucleus, and participate in microtubule organization. During mitosis, cytoplasmic dynein is thought to function in spindle pole focusing and prometaphase kinetochore capture. This thesis explores the mitotic roles of cytoplasmic dynein. The first chapter addresses the role of cytoplasmic dynein in kinetochore activity. Using immunofluoresence microscopy, a number of motors and related proteins were observed at the primary, but not secondary, constrictions of prometaphase multicentric chromosomes. The proteins assessed included the cytoplasmic dynein intermediate chains, three components of the dynactin complex (dynamitin, Arp1, and p150Glued), the kinesin related proteins CENP-E and MCAK, and the proposed structural and checkpoint proteins CENP-F, HZW10, and MAD2. The differential localization of these proteins offered new insight into the assembly and composition of both active and inactive centromeres, and provided a molecular basis for the apparent inactivity of the latter during chromosome segregation. The second chapter characterizes LIS1, a protein that is defective in the developmental brain disease type1 lissencephaly. Mutations in the LIS1 gene cause gross histological disorganization of the developing cerebral cortex resulting in a nearly smooth brain surface. Because genetic evidence from lower eukaryotes suggested that LIS1 acted within the cytoplasmic dynein pathway, it was of interest to analyze LIS1 in terms of cytoplasmic dynein function. LIS1 was found to coimmunoprecipitate with cytoplasmic dynein and its companion complex dynactin. During mitosis LIS1 localized to the prometaphase kinetochore, spindle microtubules and the cell cortex, known sites for cytoplasmic dynein binding. Interference with endogenous LIS1 in cultured mammalian cells displaced dynein localization and disrupted mitotic progression. LIS1 was concluded to participate in cytoplasmic dynein functions, but only during mitosis. Data presented in the final chapter further characterizes LIS1's interactions with microtubules, cytoplasmic dynein and the mammalian homologue of NUDC. LIS1 was not found to co-fractionate with microtubules, nor did overexpression of LIS1 cause visible effects on microtubule organization or dynamics. GFP-LIS1 was shown to ride along the plus ends of growing microtubules. Though LIS1 was not found to have a direct effect on microtubules, it may regulate dynein's microtubule binding activity. LIS1 was found to co-immunoprecipitate with a co-overexpressed cytoplasmic dynein subunit substantiating the existence of a dynein LIS1 supercomplex. Furthermore, association of these proteins increased markedly in mitotically blocked samples. LIS1's regulation of cytoplasmic dynein may change the capacity of the motor to efficiently manipulate its mitotic cargoes, dramatically effecting the timing of cell division. This disruption has implications for the fundamental role of cytoplasmic dynein during early embryonic development.

Abstract:

It is thought that a lactate shuttle complex of Basigin gene products and Monocarboxylate transporter 1 (MCT1) is necessary for photoreceptor cell maturation and function. The purpose of this study was to investigate the assembly of the lactate shuttle by determining which amino acids within Basigin interact with MCT1. It has been hypothesized that these two membrane proteins interact via the transmembrane domain of Basigin. Therefore, a full-length histidine-tagged peptide of the transmembrane domain (24 amino acids), as well as histidine-tagged deletion mutants were generated using the pET1 02/0 vector (Invitrogen) to test for binding to MCT1 via enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The probe containing the entire transmembrane domain of Basigin (amino acids 1 to 24) did interact with MCT1. An interaction was also observed when a probe containing amino acids 13 to 24 of the Basigin transmembrane domain was used. A comparable interaction was observed when amino acids 19 to 24 were used as a probe, but no signal was observed when amino acids 13 to 18 were used. This indicates that some or all of the six C-terminal amino acids of the Basigin transmembrane domain bind to MCT1. Site-directed mutagenesis of each of the six C-terminal amino acids, and subsequent ELISA analysis, . indicates that isoleucine - 20, isoleucine - 21, isoleucine - 23, and tyrosine - 24 interact with MCT1. Abstract:

Several studies have shown cellular replacement therapy as a treatment strategy of myocardial infarction but results have been limited. Therefore, enhancing the therapeutic potential of stem cells injected into ischemic microenvironments by novel preconditioning (PC) techniques is critical for improving cellular therapy. Recent studies have shown that inhibition of phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE-5) is a powerful strategy to precondition the heart and cardiomyocytes against ischemia/reperfusion injury. We therefore tested the hypothesis that inhibition of PDE-5 with sildenafil (Viagra®) or selective knockdown with a silencing vector in adipose derived stem cells (ASCs) would improve their survival after ischemia/reoxygenation in vitro and enhance cardiac function following myocardial implantation in vivo. ASCs were treated with sildenafil or infected with PDE-5 silencing vector shRNA (shRNAPDE-5). The cells were subjected to simulated ischemia (SI) and reoxygenation (RO). Both sildenafil and shRNAPDE-5 significantly reduced cell injury, as shown by improved viability, decreased lactate dehydrogenase, and apoptosis. The preconditioned ASCs also demonstrated an increase in the release of growth factors including VEGF, b-FGF, and IGF. The protective effect against SI/RO injury was abolished by inhibition of protein kinase G (PKG) using both a pharmacological inhibitor and selective knockdown with shRNAPKG1α suggesting a PKG-mediated mechanism. To show the effect of preconditioned ASCs in vivo, adult male CD-1 mice underwent myocardial infarction (MI) by occlusion of the left descending coronary artery, followed by direct injection of PBS (control), non-preconditioned ASCs, or preconditioned ASCs (4x105) ASCs into the left ventricle (LV). Preconditioned ASC-treated hearts showed consistently superior cardiac function by all measures as compared with PBS and non-preconditioned ASCs after 4 weeks of treatment. Post-mortem histological analysis demonstrated that preconditioned ASC-treated mice had significantly reduced fibrosis, increased vascular density and reduced resident myocyte apoptosis as compared to mice receiving non-preconditioned ASCs or PBS. VEGF, b-FGF, and Ang-1 were also significantly elevated 4 weeks after cell therapy with preconditioned ASCs. Our data suggests that genetic or pharmacological inhibition of PDE-5 is a powerful new approach to improve stem cell therapy following myocardial infarction.

Abstract:

After the first democratic elections in 1994, the Department of Education, through amendment of existing legislation and the adoption of new Acts, developed a new legal framework for the administration of education in the country. The effect of the change in education was not limited to the areas of the curriculum and staffing, but included a different approach to how schools will be governed and managed. In its efforts to democratise the country it was the intention of the government, through legislation, to devolve the powers of decisionmaking to the people. This study explored the phenomena that impact on the effective functioning of SGBs. The central phenomena identified were narrowed down to the role of the various stakeholders, their understanding of the functions of an SGB and the factors that hamper effective functioning. Furthermore, an exploration was made into the involvement of members of the SGB in the daily activities of the school. Research into the success of the second round of elections was conducted in 1999 by the Centre for Education Policy Development iv (CEPD). The Ministerial Review Committee on School Governance undertook research into the effectiveness of SGBs and issued a report of the study undertaken in 2004. Both these efforts were initiatives by the state. A phenomenological research approach was adopted for the purpose of the study. The rationale being that the researcher wanted to extract from the respondents their experiences as related during conversations. To lay the foundation for these interviews (conversations), a two-part questionnaire was developed. The first part of the questionnaire prompted the respondents to relate their experiences as members of the SGB. The second part elicited demographic and personal details from the respondents. The results of the study would be advantageous to various role players striving to improve the effectiveness of SGBs. The role players include all those involved at school level, the officials from the Education Management and Development Centre (EMDC), members of community-based and non-governmental organizations. The report would serve as a guideline for those individuals who are charged with the training and empowerment of SGBs.

Esta investigação analisa o discurso de professores e da proposta curricular a partir da Análise do Discurso, com base em Pêcheux (1995, 1997a, 1997b, 2006) e Orlandi (1998, 1999, 2004), levando em conta as noções de esquecimento, assujeitamento, inter e intradiscurso. Serão também consideradas concepções de outros autores a respeito de identidade, complexidade e letramento. Os dados analisados envolvem recortes de diferentes materialidades: excertos de entrevistas de três professores de inglês, do interior de Tocantins (Araguaína), bem como excertos da proposta curricular estadual para o ensino de língua estrangeira no ensino médio, subscrito por técnicos e professores locais e de outras regiões do país. Esse documento apresenta orientações regionais aos docentes no implemento do ensino do idioma estrangeiro. O objetivo principal deste trabalho é identificar representações discursivas sobre o ensino escolarizado de língua inglesa, quer do ponto de vista docente, quer do oficial, confrontando consonâncias e dissonâncias. Os resultados apontam que o discurso docente constrói o ensino de língua inglesa como batalha travada no hic et nunc enquanto, no silêncio de referências explícitas aos documentos curriculares, projeta esse mesmo ensino em um extenso horizonte de expectativas com relação a significância do ensino; o discurso do documento oficial tende a sobrelevar o discurso científico e literário na medida em que tende a reservar o silêncio à voz do docente em sua prática cotidiana. This research analyzes the teachers’ and a curricular proposal’s discourse under Discourse Analysis theory based on Pêcheux’s (1995, 1997a, 1997b, 2006) and Orlandi’s works (1998, 1999, 2004), taking into account the notions of forgetting, subjecting, interdiscourse and intradiscourse. Other authors’ conceptions regarding to identity, complexity ant literacy will also be taken into consideration. The analyzed data comprises selections inside of different materialities: excerpts from three English teachers’ interviews who works in Tocantins hinterland (Araguaína), as well as excerpts from state curricular proposal for foreign language teaching in high school, being the same proposal signed by technicians, teachers and professors from the state and other Brazilian regions. This document presents local orientations to teachers concerning the implementation of foreign language teaching. The main objective of this study is to identify discursive representations about English language teaching in school, whether from teachers’ or official discourse’s point of view, comparing consonances and dissonances. The results point out that teacher’s discourse builds English language teaching as a battle fought in hic et nunc while, in the silence of explicit references to curricular documents, it projects this same teaching in an extensive horizon of expectations with regard to teaching significancy; the official document discourse tends to overestimate the scientific and literary discourse in so far as it tends to consign the silence to teacher’s voice in his/her daily practice.

Esta tese tem como objetivo analisar a atuação pública do pernambucano Miguel do Sacramento Lopes Gama (1793-1852), monge beneditino que se secularizou aos 40 anos de idade, jornalista de sucesso, seis vezes deputado provincial, duas vezes deputado geral e diretor de diversas instituições educacionais em Pernambuco. Analisar-se-á sua atuação em dois pilares que estruturaram o processo de construção do Estado nacional brasileiro, a imprensa e as assembleias legislativas. Tem-se como hipótese que esse indivíduo foi um agente construtor desses espaços públicos. Tendo em vista que qualquer projeto político para ter sucesso no Brasil da primeira metade do século XIX necessitava do apoio de jornais e da articulação de bancadas legislativas, pretende-se analisar os projetos os quais Lopes Gama elaborou para a nação dentro desses espaços de discussão política. These thesis aims to analyze the public performance of Miguel do Sacramento Lopes Gama (1793-1852). He was a Benedictine monk born in Pernambuco who became secular at the age of 40 and acted as a successful journalist, six times provincial legislator, twice general legislator and director or several educational institutions in Pernambuco. His performance on two pillars which structures the Brazilian national State construction process will be reviewed: the press and the legislatives assemblies. The hypothesis is that this person was a building agent of those public spaces. Bearing in mind that the success of any political project in the first half of the XIX century in Brazil had to count with the support of the newspapers and with the articulation of the legislatives benches, we intend to analyze the Lopes Gamas projects for the nation, which were elaborated inside those political discussion public spaces.

This study focused on community development education and practice for the democratic and transformative South context. Social and community development are relatively new approaches to social welfare and community development is emerging as a discipline and profession to contribute to the goal of developmental social welfare. Community work, albeit to a minimal extent and not community development was viewed as a method of social work during apartheid. With community development being prioritized as an intervention strategy for poverty reduction by the national government, the gap in community development education needs to be addressed. The goal of the study was to develop an undergraduate curriculum framework for community development education that would produce a new generation of ethical community development professionals to contribute to the goal of developmental social welfare. The study focused on the integrated approach to community development education and practice; with education of the student as a whole human being as critical for community development in a transformative South Africa. To achieve its goal, the study identified three themes that were critical to the research: a conceptual framework, clarifying key terms; a curriculum framework for community development education; and qualities and ethics for a new generation of development practitioners. The qualitative study was based in the Eastern Cape Province, South Africa and because of the lack of a referential framework for community development education, the researcher looked towards learning from India which has over fifty years of experience in social and community development education and practice. The state of Kerala established a social development approach in 1957 and was chosen as a learning experience. The state’s Kudumbashree Mission which aims at poverty alleviation through the empowerment of women was chosen as a case study. The integral and values based education system of Sri Sathya Sai University in the state of Andhra Pradesh and the community development education and practice of Loyola College in the state of Kerala were examined. The research design was exploratory, conceptual, descriptive and developmental in nature. The qualitative methodology best suited the nature of this study and a combination of methods to obtain data from a variety of sources across national boundaries was employed. The participants interviewed in both countries were purposively selected for their involvement in social and community development directly as target groups, practitioners, managers and policy makers. The research produced a philosophical and theoretical framework that is unitary and integral and aligned with the current social development policy to guide community development education and practice. The unitary and integral framework encompasses the individual within the family and community context and locates the various dimensions of development such as the social, physical, cultural, psychological, spiritual, political and economical dimensions within a unitary platform. The framework is dominated by the holistic and humanistic philosophies without negating the rational and pragmatic perspectives. In conclusion, the study conceptualizes community development as a natural process; the integration of individual and collective consciousness and an intervention. The outcome of the study is a recommended curriculum framework for community development education that would be of relevance to the Eastern Cape Province in particular and for the South African context generally.

The scenario is the period between 1828 and 1852, marked by the completion of the independence cycles, the various attempts to form the political units of the region, and the chain of factors that led to the rise and fall of Juan Manuel de Rosa's dominion in the Argentine Confederation. This moment was highlighted by intense disputes, indefinitions and wars that would help to shape Brazil, especially in the context of its Southern portion. The province of São Pedro do Rio Grande do Sul was the background for this plot, with the fate of its populations and government closely connected to the events that happened in the area, influencing and being influenced by them. That part of its territory there were pressures and challenges that imposed on the imperial government special attention. This would help to give general outlines to Brazilian external action's model towards the countries in the Plata and their Southern borders. Because those who shared in his youth a academic enlightenment, based in the tradition of the University of Coimbra are those who operate in the Constituent Assembly in 1823, as well as are those who draw up the design of the opening up of legal courses in 1825, debated after the reopening of the legislative power in 1826 and adopted in 1827. In the last 15 years to accompany the increase of studies that point to analyzes of Brazil in the 19th century, the political implications of the presence of the Portuguese court in Rio de Janeiro, the breakdown of unity between the kingdoms and the historical formation of the first and second reigns. In this research we take the first reign not as a transitional period to agonized until the abdication of the Portuguese monarch. But as a situation from a confrontation between traditional forces, whose practices identified with the Ancien Régime, and reforming forces imbued with liberal ideals. This is the moment where he founded the whole building cool and the institutions of the Brazilian National State, and, in relation to the political powers founded, remained a climate of disputes around the sovereignty and representation of the nation. We performed the analysis of the opening up of legal Courses, former colony's claim and the kingdom of Brazil, and the dialog conducted with the legacies of modernity portuguesa when the drafting of the Statute which guided the first legal courses in Brazil, since 1827, we have an inspiration affects pensioners to the Statutes of the University of Coimbra. We also propose the study on the Portuguese illustration of the late 18th century who starred in the period of reforms in the administration undertaken by Sebastião Carvalho e Mello, Marquês de Pombal. We localized, more specifically, the reform of the Statutes of Legal courses of the University of Coimbra, marks on the modernisation of the Portuguese kingdom linked to the maintenance of the mercantile system, to force the catalyst of the catholic religion and the centrality of the monarchy in the absolutist regime. We believe that the deepening of the study regarding the first reign, in terms of its political and institutional aspects, such as the proposals for the opening of upper-level courses and universities, allow an increase in the historiography that dedicates itself to studies of 800 both in the national context, and also in the Latin American context, given the specific nature of the independence of Brazil. The analysis of the first legal courses in Brazil will demonstrate the ambiguities and tensions that have marked the construction of the Imperial State and the consolidation of proposals that dialog with the ways considered ancient and modern thinking about politics and power Este estudo aborda a formação da primeira geração de magistrados que figuraram na cena política no Brasil, na primeira fase de sua autonomia a partir de 1822 e os primeiros Cursos Jurídicos abertos no Brasil em 1827 e seus respectivos estatutos. Pois aqueles que partilharam em sua juventude de uma formação acadêmica iluminista, pautada na tradição da Universidade de Coimbra são os que atuam na Assembleia Constituinte em 1823, assim como são os que elaboram o projeto da abertura dos cursos jurídicos em 1825, debatido após a reabertura do poder legislativo em 1826 e adotado em 1827. Nos últimos 15 anos acompanhamos o incremento de estudos que apontam para análises sobre o Brasil no século XIX, as implicações políticas da presença da corte portuguesa no Rio de Janeiro, a desagregação da unidade entre os reinos e a formação histórica do primeiro e do segundo reinados. Nesta pesquisa tomamos o primeiro reinado não como um período transitório que agonizou até a abdicação do monarca português. Mas como uma conjuntura proveniente de um confronto entre forças tradicionais, cujas práticas se identificavam com o Antigo Regime, e forças reformadoras imbuídas de ideais liberais. É o momento onde se funda todo o edifício legal e as instituições do Estado Nacional brasileiro, e, em relação aos poderes políticos fundados, permaneceu um clima de disputas em torno da soberania e da representação da nação. Realizamos a análise da abertura dos Cursos Jurídicos, antiga reinvindicação da colônia e do reino do Brasil, e do diálogo realizado com as heranças da modernidade portuguesa quando à elaboração do estatuto que regeu os primeiros Cursos Jurídicos no Brasil, a partir de 1827, temos uma inspiração afeta aos Estatutos Reformados da Universidade de Coimbra. Também propomos o estudo sobre a ilustração portuguesa do final do século XVIII que protagonizou o período das reformas na administração realizadas por Sebastião Carvalho e Mello, Marquês de Pombal. Localizamos, de forma mais específica, as reformas dos Estatutos dos Cursos Jurídicos da Universidade de Coimbra, marcas da modernização do reino português atrelada à manutenção do sistema mercantil, à força catalisadora da religião católica e da centralidade da monarquia no regime absolutista. Consideramos que o aprofundamento do estudo a respeito do Primeiro Reinado, no que tange a seus aspectos políticos e institucionais, como as propostas para a abertura de cursos em nível superior e universidades, possibilitam um incremento à historiografia que se dedica aos estudos dos oitocentos, tanto no contexto nacional, e também no contexto latino americano, dado o caráter específico da independência do Brasil. Abstract:

We study a random homogenization problem concerning the flow of a viscous fluid through a permeable membrane with a highly oscillatory geometry and nonlinear boundary condition on it. Along an interface we consider a periodic distribution of small permeable obstacles with a random geometry. Leak boundary conditions of threshold type are considered on the obstacle part of the membrane: the normal velocity of the fluid is zero until the jump of the normal component of the stress acting on it reaches a certain limit, and then the fluid may pass freely. The problem is studied first in the deterministic case, and then in the random case, for which assumptions on the randomness of the solid obstacles are needed in order to obtain a limiting behaviour. The description of the obstacles is given in terms of a random set-valued variable defined on a probability space and a dynamical system acting on it. Effective boundary conditions for the fluid are derived, and these depend on the relative size of the obstacles. We establish two major cases, in one of them we obtain an effective permeability across the membrane and in the critical case a slip boundary condition of Navier type. If the dynamical system is assumed to be ergodic, the limiting behaviour of the fluid is deterministic. The approach is based on the Mosco convergence, which also allows us to pass from the stationary case to the time dependent case via the convergence of the associated semigroups.

More importantly, the possibility is explored that this critical methodology can be employed to examine the translations of DDJ produced in other periods, so as to ask and answer questions of the representation of the source text and the construction of the translator’s identities. This thesis is organized into nine chapters. Chapter 1 reviews the literature on the study of translations of DDJ, and discusses the issues arising from approaches discussed above. Chapter 2 sets out the theoretical framework within which to pursue the line of inquiry proposed by this thesis. Chapters 3 to 8 provide detailed analyses of the representations of the six translations under study, and discuss the construction of the translator’s identity in each of these translations. Hardy以及受其影响的学者将20世纪上半叶《道德经》英译的道家阐释总结为：一种可以帮助西方反思、批评或解救西方文化危机的东方智慧。但是本研究发现，此结论与已有的一些研究成果并不完全相符。不完全相符的原因在于，以往研究在总结某个时期的译本道家阐释时，未能批判使用“历史分期和“译者背景这两种研究途径来选择译本和阐释译本内容；而在这背后主导这两种研究途径的是均质、统一、连续、进步的历史观，以及离具体历史语境的、单一、固定的身份观。针对以上《道德经》英译的研究途径问题，本研究将引入Michel Foucault（1972/2002）所提出的异质、断裂的历史观，以及Stuart Hall（1990，1992，1996）主张的历史构建的，变化的，复杂的身份观。在这两种理论视角之下，结合Hall（1997）的表征概念和Foucault（1981）的话语概念，来考察20世纪上半叶（1936年-1950年）所有中国译者的6个英译本，并将译文及与之相关的副文本结合起来，分析道家思想在这些译本中是如何被表征的，以及译者在表征过程中是如何构建其身份的。本研究发现，在6个译本分析中，其中3个译本在不同程度上符合以往研究所总结的这一时期的道家阐释一种可以帮助西方反思、批评或解救西方文化危机的东方智慧；而其余三个译者则使用其他各种话语建构出完全不同面貌的道家思想；并且6个译者身份有着与其背景极为复杂的融合、排斥和转化关系，构建出一种变化、复杂，历史构建的译者身份。因此，“历史分期或“译者背景仍然可以作为研究的起点确立研究《道德经》英译史的范围，但需要批判地使用，从副文本出发结合与之紧密相关的正文考察译本表征和译者身份。更为重要的是，在后续的《道德经》英译史研究中，可以将这一方法去进一步考察其余各个时期和（或）有着某种译者背景的译本，揭示可能存在的译本表征和译者身份的多样性和复杂性。全文共分九章。第一章为绪论，介绍《道德经》英译研究背景和研究现状，并反思均质、连续历史观和非历史身份观所带来的问题。第二章为理论框架，运用Foucault和Hall的相关理论思想来继续探讨这些问题。第三章到第八章将逐章详细分析每一个译本的道家表征，再据此探讨各个译者身份的构建。第九章为本研究结论和意义。 =During the period 1868-2011, at least 143 English translations of the Daoist classic Dao De Jing (DDJ) were published, most of which were accompanied by a preface, commentary, annotation or other paratexts. Julia M. Hardy, whose work has exerted great influence on many scholars, has concluded that the translations of DDJ produced during the first half of the twentieth century were intended to provide a kind of eastern wisdom capable of helping the West to examine, critique or save its own culture, which was perceived to be in a state of crisis. However, a review of the literature suggests that Hardy’s conclusion has limited applicability, and it is argued here that this limited applicability can be attributed to the problematic use of periodization and background information about translators, which reflects an uncritical application of methodologies informed by a historical perspective that stresses homogeneity, unity, continuity and progress, as well as by a view of identity as non-historical, single and fixed. To address issues arising from the application of these methodologies to the study of translations of DDJ, this thesis adopts a historical perspective informed by Michel Foucault’s (1972/2002) discussion of heterogeneity and discontinuity, and follows Stuart Hall’s (1990, 1992, 1996) view of identity as historical, unfixed and complicated. With reference to Hall’s (1997) discussions about representation and Foucault’s (1981) discussions about discourse, thesis will examine all the six English translations of DDJ, along with the paratexts, published between 1936 and 1950, with a view to investigating how Daoism is represented in each of these translations and how the translators’ identities are constructed in the process of representing DDJ. Investigation shows that, of the six translations, three translations are to different degrees consistent with the conclusion drawn by previous studies that Daoism is treated as an eastern wisdom capable of helping the West to examine, critique or save its own culture. In the other three translations, however, Daoism is presented quite differently, with reference to various discourses. Moreover, the six translators’ identities are intricately related to their social, cultural or educational backgrounds. They may be integrated, excluded, and (or) transformed, as complex, provisional identities are constructed in historical contexts. These findings, to some extent, suggest that translators’ backgrounds and periodization can be critically employed as a starting point for demarcating the scope of study. However, such approaches should be supplemented by a thorough and systematic examination of paratexts.

Abstract:

This thesis contextualises the life and work of John Josias Conybeare (1779-1824), one of the first to hold the Rawlinson chair of Anglo-Saxon at the University of Oxford, and considers his contribution to the development of Old English studies as a discipline. I argue that he has been unduly marginalised as a result of posthumous criticism that has failed to acknowledge the extent of his contribution to Old English scholarship. Part I of the thesis considers this issue from the perspective of John Josias himself, setting him in the context of the period in which he lived and the longer continuum of Old English studies as a whole. It also reconstructs what is known of his associates and friends, illustrating that he occupied a central position among the literati of his day alongside figures such as Thomas Gaisford (1779-1855), Joseph Hunter (1783-1861), Robert Southey (1774-1843), and Sharon Turner (1768-1847). Part II focuses on Illustrations of Anglo-Saxon Poetry (1826), the scholar’s most well-known and significant contribution to Old English studies, which was published posthumously by John Josias’ brother, William Daniel (1787-1857), and widow, Mary (1790-1848). This section traces the composition of the book from its first conception through to its final publication and critical reception, using previously unpublished correspondence to disambiguate the contribution of the author from that of his editors. This is followed by an examination of John Josias’ ability as an early editor of Old English, which critically evaluates some of his transcriptions, translations, and interpretations as they appeared in Illustrations of Anglo-Saxon Poetry, with particular attention to his work on Widsith and the Exeter Book. Part III contains transcripts of unpublished correspondence and other documents that provide details about John Josias’ life and, in particular, about the preparation and posthumous publication of his Illustrations of Anglo-Saxon Poetry. This thesis, which brings together genealogical, scholarly, and archival materials, constitutes the first comprehensive study of his life and work. My reassessment of his scholarship concludes that John Josias in fact made a substantial and influential contribution to the discipline, deserving of greater recognition today.

The objective of this study was to prepare an illustrative manual of the locomotor system, specifically directed to guitarists, for injury prevention. Method: 61 guitarists (students, professors, semi-professionals and professionals) in the city of São José do Rio Preto SP were taken into consideration, with the application of a questionnaire in order to estimate knowledge on bones, muscles and joints intrinsically associated with the praxis of guitar musical performances. As results, 83.5 % of the respondents had no specific anatomical knowledge, 62.3 % received no orientation on the best physical postures to perform the guitar; 63.93 % do not effect prior stretching for upper limbs or other body regions; 50.82 % do not practice muscle warming before the practice, and 52.46 % do not make pauses during the activity. Body areas that were constantly used during practice with the guitar encompassed right wrist (70.49%), left wrist (59.01%), right hand (63.93%) and left hand (50.81%). Spearman's correlation was used to estimate the relation between discomfort and hours of daily practice with guitar and it indicated positive correlation of low degree on right (r=0.3536) and left wrists (r=0.3226) and on the left hand (r=0.3431). Production of Illustrated Manual of Human Anatomy specific to the Locomotor System promotes teaching strategy to prevent injuries, traumas or musculoskeletal origin pathologies of guitarists, from complete beginners to instrumentalists. Introdução: Violonistas representam a maioria dos instrumentistas e suas atividades envolvem esforços repetitivos ou postura estática, o que assim os torna prováveis candidatos a desenvolver doença laboral, a maioria das vezes por absoluta falta de informação. O objetivo do presente estudo foi elaborar manual ilustrativo do aparelho locomotor, especificamente direcionado a violonistas, para prevenção de lesões. Método: Foram considerados 61 violonistas (estudantes, docentes, semi-profissionais e profissionais) da cidade de São José do Rio Preto SP, com aplicação de questionário a fim de estimar conhecimento referente a ossos, músculos e articulações intrinsecamente associados à práxis de execuções musicais de violão. Como resultados, 83,5% dos respondentes não tinham conhecimento anatômico específico; 62,3% não receberam orientação sobre as melhores posturas físicas para executar o violão; 63,93% mencionam não efetuar alongamento prévio dos membros superiores ou de outras regiões corporais; 50,82% não praticam aquecimento muscular antes da prática, e 52,46% não efetuam pausas durante a atividade. Áreas corporais constantemente utilizadas durante a prática com o violão englobaram pulso direito (70,49%), pulso esquerdo (59,01%), mão direita (63,93%) e mão esquerda (50,81%). Correlação de Spearman foi usada para estimar relação entre desconforto e horas de prática diária com violão indicou correlação positiva de grau baixo nos pulsos direito (r=0,3536) e esquerdo (r=0,3226) e na mão esquerda (r=0,3431). Confecção de Manual Ilustrado de Anatomia Humana específica ao Aparelho Locomotor promove estratégia de ensino para prevenir lesões, traumas ou patologias de origem musculoesquelética a violonistas, desde iniciantes até instrumentistas.

Este estudo, referenciando-se nas íntimas e complexas imbricações entre história e memória, busca reconstituir e problematizar o período em que D. Pedro exerceu a Regência do Reino do Brasil, entre 22 de abril de 1821, retorno de D. João VI a Portugal, e 12 de outubro de 1822, quando foi aclamado Imperador do Brasil. Parte-se da hipótese, seguindo-se tanto obras clássicas sobre o período, a exemplo de Varnhagen e Pereira da Silva, quanto a historiografia mais recente, a exemplo da obra de Maria de Lourdes Viana Lyra, de que a autoridade de D. Pedro foi sendo construída nesse curto período entre diferenciados projetos políticos. Na trajetória do Príncipe, de Alteza Real a Imperador, procurou-se identificar, especialmente, as bases sociais e econômicas que sustentaram a afirmação de sua autoridade à frente do governo do Império do Brasil, o que implicou na separação de Portugal e na opção por uma monarquia constitucional, conforme delineada posteriormente na Carta de 1824. This study, based on the intimate and complex conections between history and memory, intends to reconstruct and problematize the period through which D. Pedro retained the regency of the Brazilian Kingdom, from April 22, 1821, date of D. João VI\'s return to Portugal, to October 12, 1822, when D. Pedro was acclaimed Brazilian Emperor. The hypothesis hereby presented, guided by classic works regarding such period, e. g. Varnhagen and Pereira da Silva, as well as more recent historiography, e. g. Lyra\'s study, is that D. Pedro\'s authority was progressively built through this short interval of time among different political projects. At the Prince\'s course, from His Royal Highness to Emperor, it was intended to identify, particularly, the social and economical foundations that sustained his authority assertion, ahead of the Brazilian Empire\'s government, which lead to the separation from Portugal and to the option for constitutional monarchy, as later established by 1824 Constitution.

O Rio da Prata foi uma região estratégica aos interesses políticos e econômicos de todos os países ao sul do continente americano. As disputas por seu controle e navegabilidade estiveram em pauta nos embates entre projetos de nação nos Estados em formação naquele momento e, em muitas oportunidades, transpuseram o limite das ideias e negociações e chegaram ao campo de batalha, onde tais países puseram-se frente a frente na defesa de interesses distintos, tanto pela consolidação de suas relações externas quanto pela estabilidade política interna. Nesse sentido, a presente dissertação pretende analisar de que maneira o Brasil criou condições para levar a cabo seus projetos políticos e econômicos no Rio da Prata, entre 1842 e 1852. Tomando por base a atuação política e militar de Luis Alves de Lima e Silva barão, conde, marquês e futuro duque de Caxias nesse período, busca-se compreendê-lo como uma figura central e um importante representante e artífice dos interesses políticos brasileiros no contexto platino, desde a sua missão de pacificação da conhecida Revolução Farroupilha, passando por seus primeiros anos como senador do Império (pelo Rio Grande do Sul), até regressar ao campo de batalha, nas campanhas que derrubaram do poder Manuel Oribe, na República Oriental do Uruguai, e Juan Manuel de Rosas, na província argentina de Buenos Aires, durante a intervenção brasileira na Guerra Grande. The River Plate was a strategic region to the political and economic interests of all the southern countries of the American continent. The disputes for its control and seaworthiness were in focus on the conflicts between nation projects in the states in formation at that moment, and in many occasions, they transposed the limit of the ideas and negotiations and reached the battlefield, where such countries settled face to face to defend different interests, for consolidation of its external relationship and internal political stability. Therefore, this dissertation intends to analyze the method Brazil used to create conditions to execute its political and economic projects on the River Plate between 1842 and 1852. Based on the political and military performance of Luis Alves de Lima e Silva - Baron, Count, Marquis and future Duke of Caxias at that period, it\'s intended to see him as a main character and an important representative and creator of the Brazilian political interests in the River Plate region context, since his pacification mission of the well-known Ragamuffin War, through his first years as the Empire senator (representing Rio Grande do Sul), until his return to the battlefield, in the campaigns that took Manuel Oribe off the power, in the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, and Juan Manuel de Rosas, in the argentine province of Buenos Aires, during the Brazilian intervention in the Uruguayan Civil War.

This systematization enable people, who are involved on this work, to have more precise information, increasing the success in the whole process. The present study systematizes a marketing initiative of agroecological products in Carmen de Viboral, Colombian, Antioquia department, from its agroecological transition, the development, until the concretion and stability of its initiative. The methodological approach was based on a notorious local peasant´s narrative, named Carlos Osorio, it was analyzed the reasons that induced him to work with agroecology, the emergence of a marketing channel, and the meeting with consumers, was take into consideration. It was also observed his present structural and organizational aspects; distinguishing its consumers and the strategies that he used to establish the initiative. It makes use of a semi-structured interview, a questionnaire and Diagnostic Rural Participative. The theoretical framework used was Van der Ploeg (2008) and the Stiologia Zaoual theory (2006). This case study shows the reasons that induced a person to change radically not only his life, but the relation he has taking care of the soil, agriculture, and also their lives. The peasant was succeed of closing a cycle, from its production until finding an autonomous commercialization channel for his agroecological products using mechanisms of symmetric reciprocity; enhancing important values, that our society relativized or even forget about, such as, confidence, solidarity, ethics, love, honesty and long-term planning. A sistematização da transição agroecológica e dos sistemas de comercialização de produtos agroecológicos é de extrema importância para construção do conhecimento nesta área. Esta prática de sistematização permite a obtenção de informações mais precisas para os envolvidos neste trabalho, aumentando a chance de êxito do processo como um todo. A presente dissertação buscou sistematizar uma iniciativa de comercialização de produtos agroecológicos em Carmen de Viboral, Estado de Antioquia, Colômbia, desde sua transição agroecológica e surgimento até a concretização e estabilidade desta iniciativa. Descrevemos e analisamos, a partir da narrativa de Carlos Osorio, um agricultor reconhecido na área, os fatores que o levaram à transição agroecológica, o surgimento de um canal de comercialização e o encontro com os consumidores. Analisamos ainda seus aspectos estruturais e organizacionais atuais; distinguindo seus consumidores e as estratégias criadas neste processo para a estabilização da iniciativa. Foram utilizadas entrevistas semi-estruturadas, um questionário e o diagnóstico rural participativo. Utilizou-se o referencial teórico de Van der Ploeg (2008) e a teoria da sitiologia de Zaoual (2006). A experiência sistematizou as condicionantes que levam uma pessoa a transformar radicalmente, não apenas sua maneira como se relaciona com a terra e com a agricultura, mas, sua vida por completo. O agricultor conseguiu alcançar com êxito o fechamento de um ciclo, desde a produção até um meio de comercialização mais autônomo de seus produtos agroecológicos a partir de mecanismos de reciprocidade simétrica, construindo e reforçando valores que a sociedade globalizada relativiza ou esquece, como a confiança, a solidariedade, a ética, o amor, honestidade e planejamento em longo prazo.
