Abstract:
The SNP rs1260326 (P446L) and rs1799884 ( − 30G>A) for the glucokinase regulatory protein (GCKR) and glucokinase (GCK) genes, respectively, have been associated with opposing effects on TAG and glucose concentrations. However, their genetic modulation by diet (dietary patterns or foods) remains to be investigated. We studied 945 high-cardiovascular risk subjects aged 67 (sd 6) years who participated in the PREvención con DIeta MEDiterránea-Valencia Study. Demographic, clinical, biochemical and genetic data were obtained. Adherence to the Mediterranean diet (MD) and food intake were measured by validated questionnaires. Carriers of the L allele of GKCR had significantly higher TAG concentrations (PP: 1·34 (sd 0·05) mmol/l v. PL+LL: 1·54 (sd 0·03) mmol/l; P= 0·014) and LL carriers had lower glucose concentrations (PL+PP: 6·85 (sd 0·08) mmol/l v. LL: 6·40 (sd 0·16) mmol/l; P= 0·032) after multivariate adjustment. Conversely, homozygous subjects for the variant allele (A) in the GCK gene had significantly lower TAG (GG+GA: 1·48 (sd 0·03) mmol/l v. AA: 1·17 (sd 0·18) mmol/l; P= 0·033) and a higher risk of diabetes (OR 3·3, 95 % CI 1·2, 9·2). Combined effects for both SNP increased TAG concentrations by 37 % (P= 0·033). Adherence to the MD modulated the effects of GCKR polymorphism on TAG: subjects with genetic risk had lower TAG (L-allele carriers; PP: 1·48 (sd 0·14) mmol/l v. PL+LL: 1·51 (sd 0·08) mmol/l; P= 0·917) compared with those with a higher adherence. Analysis of the joint effects of the GCKR and individual food items identified significant associations (olive oil (P= 0·035), vegetables (P= 0·012), red meat (P= 0·017), butter (P= 0·039), sweetened carbonated beverages (P= 0·036) and nuts (P= 0·038)). In conclusion, we found that rs1260326 (GCKR) is significantly associated with higher TAG concentrations, but is modulated by adherence to the MD.

Abstract:
Abstract Background From the early empirical research results, we found the special methods and dimensions of education policy performance evaluation. These studies transition to outcome assessment and process assessment. Recent work has combined performance evaluation and education policy evaluation, and combined them. This study reconsiders the structure and measurement criteria of education policy performance in Tibet. To understand the current situation and characteristics of the implementation of educational language policy in Tibet and the changes of emotional behavior. Participants and Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted among 945 middle school students in Ganzi Prefecture. Based on the results of Wang Shiying's questionnaire survey in Taiwan and the suggestions of the members and leaders of the research group, this study compiled a self-made Tibetan language education language policy scale. There are two types of balances, one is closed and the other is open. From the perspective of item reliability, structure reliability, alpha, ave and partition validity, this study makes an item analysis and reliability analysis on the four dimensions of language acquisition, policy attitude, policy awareness and policy satisfaction. Statistical software package amos21. 0 for confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Results The results show that the structural model of Tibetan educational language policy has been supported by the local government, which shows that the Tibetan educational language policy is effective. From large to small, the performance dimensions of educational language policy are: satisfaction with Tibetan educational language policy > Tibetan ability > Tibetan use > Tibetan educational language policy awareness. The standard deviation of each dimension from large to small is: Tibetan use > Tibetan ability > satisfaction with Tibetan educational language policy > recognition of Tibetan educational language policy. At present, the average value of the average performance evaluation of education policy in the questionnaire analysis is 3.6150 ~ 4.0595, which is equivalent to the degree of “above average”, and the overall performance is ideal. The correlation between Wittenberg coefficient and UCA was 0.81; The correlation between emotional language table and it is 0.59. Consistent with the expected results, language function is related to the evaluation of various policies; Emotional factors are related to the evaluation of the relationship between language recognition. (most correlation values are 0.30-0.70). From the perspective of discriminant validity, the correlation between social and emotional language items of Russell et al is only 0.170. As mentioned above, their correlation with other variables is also different. The correlation between Wittenberg's social and emotional language subscales is 0.44, which is significantly lower than the reliability of various scales, and the correlation between the two languages and other variables is also inconsistent. One of Wittenberg's findings is that social language has a high correlation with the UCLA scale, but this may also be partly due to the imbalance of the UCLA scale, that is, there are too many items for policy and less items for language and attachment. Conclusion This paper discusses the dimensions and components of the performance of education policy in Tibet. In the analysis, some theoretical hypotheses of the performance structure of Tibet's education policy are tested, and the empirical data are combed to give an overall view of the criticism contained in these studies. This study constructs the model blueprint of the performance structure of Tibetan language education language policy, which provides reference and suggestions for future researchers. However, Ganzi Tibetan language education is a complex project, which will take a long time to implement. Therefore, the implementation of Tibetan language education needs unremitting efforts. On the basis of summarizing the successful experience of Tibetan language education, local governments and education departments should further study and accurately grasp the laws of education, promote the innovation of Tibetan language education ideas and clarify the objectives of Tibetan language education. Abstract:
Bacterial leaf streak (BLS) caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzicola is prevalent in Asia where it can decrease yield by as much as 30%. In Africa, BLS has been reported in Madagascar, Nigeria, Senegal, and recently in Mali (1). The pathogen is seed transmitted and rice seeds can be a source of primary inoculum (3). In October 2009, leaf streak symptoms were observed on 3-month-old field rice grown in three regions of Burkina Faso (Haut-Bassin, Cascades, and East Center). Disease was found on cultivated Oryza sativa (varieties TS2, FKR19, and FKR56N), wild rice species (O. longistaminata and O. barthii), and weeds. Symptoms consisted of water-soaked lesions that developed into translucent, yellow streaks with visible exudates at the leaf surface. Yellow-pigmented Xanthomonas-like colonies were isolated on PSA semiselective medium (peptone 10 g, sucrose 10 g, bacto agar 16 g, distilled water 1,000 ml, actidione 50 mg liter–1, cephalexin 40 mg liter–1, and kasugamycin 20 mg liter–1). A multiplex PCR developed for the identification of Xanthomonas oryzae pathovars (2) was used to check the identity of Xanthomonas-like isolates. X. oryzae pv. oryzicola strains BLS256 from the Philippines and CFBP 7331 from Mali were used as positive controls. Three expected DNA fragments (331, 691, and 945 bp) corresponding to X. oryzae pv. oryzicola were obtained from all isolates using the multiplex PCR. No fragment was observed for negative controls (distilled water as the template). Five X. oryzae pv. oryzicola isolates were further analyzed by sequence analysis using portions of the gyrB housekeeping gene together with reference strains. Two sequence types were identified among Burkinabe isolates differing by only one nucleotide. When compared with the nucleotide database with BLAST, three isolates (BAI6, BAI15, and BAI19) were 100% identical to the type culture strain X. oryzae pv. oryzicola BLS256 (gyrB sequence was obtained from GenBank AAQN01000001.1) while the other two (BAI5 and BAI20) demonstrated 99% sequence similarity. The nucleotide sequence of isolate BAI5 was submitted to GenBank (HQ112342). Pathogenicity tests were performed on greenhouse-grown 3-week-old rice plants cv. Nipponbare. Cultures were grown overnight in PSA medium and adjusted in sterile water to 1 × 108 CFU/ml and inoculated into rice leaves with the blunt end of a 1-ml syringe. Four infiltrations were done per isolate per leaf and two leaves were inoculated per plant. Control plants were inoculated with sterile water. After 15 days of incubation in the greenhouse at 27 ± 1°C with a 12-h photoperiod, inoculated leaves exhibited water-soaked lesions with yellow exudates that were identical to symptoms seen in the field. Control plants remained symptomless. Colonies with morphology typical of Xanthomonas were recovered from the symptomatic leaves and typed using multiplex PCR to fulfill Koch's postulates. Three isolates have been deposited in the Collection Française de Bactéries Phytopathogènes (CFBP) and identified as X. oryzae pv. oryzicola strains CFBP7341–43. To our knowledge, this is the first report of X. oryzae pv. oryzicola in Burkina Faso. Further surveys and strain collection will be necessary to evaluate the geographic distribution and prevalence of BLS in Burkina Faso and neighboring countries. References: (1) C. Gonzalez et al. Abstract:
