Abstract:
In this study, the psychometric properties of the Spanish version (Bakker et al., 2018) of the Job Crafting scale of Tims et al. (2012), was analyzed in a Latin American population. We applied the scale to a sample of 903 employees (42.6% women & 57.4% men) from Colombia and Ecuador. Reliability and validity were examined. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis showed an adequate fit both in Colombia (CFI = .916, TLI = .900, IFI = .917, RMSEA = .060) and in Ecuador (CFI = .918, TLI = .903, IFI = .919, RMSEA = .064), in the four-factor structure of the original scale. Evidence of validation, related to criterion for psychological well-being for the dimensions of increasing structural resources and increasing challenging demands, was found. The Spanish version of the scale demonstrates its usefulness for research in the Latin American context.

Abstract:

Full text
Abstract:
Known values of rotational and centrifugal distortion constants, in conjunction with electric dipole moment, have been used to calculate energies for the ground rotational levels, ground vibrational state, and ground electronic state of amino acetonitrile (NH2CH2CN), which is of interest for studies of life in the universe. Probabilities for radiative transitions between the rotational levels are also calculated. Such transition probabilities are used in conjunction with scaled values for the collisional rate coefficients for large velocity gradient calculations. A line 110–111 at 450.31 MHz is found to show anomalous absorption. Two observed lines 909–808 at 80.947 GHz and 120,12–110,11 at 107.283 GHz, and another nine lines, 918–817, 716–615, 817–716, 919–818, 1019–918, 808–707, 100,10–909, 110,11–100,10, and 707–606, are found to show emission features. There are several other observed lines, which are found weaker than these 11 lines. These 10 additional lines may help in the identification of amino acetonitrile in the interstellar medium.

Full text
Abstract:
In order to search for silylidene (H2CSi) in the interstellar medium, Izuha et al. (1996) recorded microwave spectrum of H2CSi in laboratory and made an unsuccessful attempt of its identification in IRC +10216, Ori KL, Sgr B2, through its 717-616 transition at 222.055 GHz. For finding out if there are other transitions of H2CSi which may help in its identification in the interstellar medium, we have considered 25 rotational levels of ortho-H2CSi connected by collisional transitions and 35 radiative transitions, and solved radiative transfer problem using the LVG approximation. We have found that the brightness temperatures of 919-818, 918-817, 101,10-919, 1019-918, 111,11-101,10, 111,10-1019 and 121,12-111,11 transition are larger than that of 717-616 transition. Thus, these transitions may help in detection of H2CSi in the interstellar medium.

"Insight into the Natural History of Pathogenic Variant c.919-2A>G in the SLC26A4 Gene Involved in Hearing Loss: The Evidence for Its Common Origin in Southern Siberia (Russia)." Genes 14, no. 4 (April 17, 2023): 928. http://dx.doi.org/10.3390/genes14040928.

Full text
Abstract:
Pathogenic variants in the SLC26A4 gene leading to nonsyndromic recessive deafness (DFNB4), or Pendred syndrome, are some of the most common causes of hearing loss worldwide. Earlier, we found a high proportion of SLC26A4-related hearing loss with prevailing pathogenic variant c.919-2A>G (69.3% among all mutated SLC26A4 alleles that have been identified) in Tuvinian patients belonging to the indigenous Turkic-speaking Siberian people living in the Tyva Republic (Southern Siberia, Russia), which implies a founder effect in the accumulation of c.919-2A>G in Tuvinians. To evaluate a possible common origin of c.919-2A>G, we genotyped polymorphic STR and SNP markers, intragenic and flanking SLC26A4, in patients homozygous for c.919-2A>G and in healthy controls. The common STR and SNP haplotypes carrying c.919-2A>G were revealed, which convincingly indicates the origin of c.919-2A>G from a single ancestor, supporting a crucial role of the founder effect in the c.919-2A>G prevalence in Tuvinians. Comparison analysis with previously published data revealed the identity of the small SNP haplotype (~4.5 kb) in Tuvinian and Han Chinese carriers of c.919-2A>G, which suggests their common origin from founder chromosomes. We assume that c.919-2A>G could have originated in the geographically close territories of China or Tuva and subsequently spread to other regions of Asia. In addition, the time intervals of the c.919-2A>G occurrence in Tuvinians were roughly estimated.

Abstract:
Abstract Purpose: The Veterans Health Administration (VA) created National TeleOncology (NTO) service in 2019 to provide telehealth cancer care to Veterans and to augment care provided at VA facilities through a hub and spoke model. More recently, VA established a Decentralized Clinical Trials (DCTs) infrastructure to support clinical trials (CTs) that rely on telehealth, where research staff are at different locations, and/or where a single IRB provides oversight even when subjects are at different locations. Brief Description: Research support and infrastructure is variable across VA facilities resulting in uneven access to cancer CTs in the VA system. Veterans often live in rural areas or have transportation challenges, which are barriers to participate in CTs. The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in increased telehealth use in clinical care and in CTs, providing the rationale for a focused effort in DCTs. DCTs have the potential to reduce barriers to CT involvement at the facility- and patient-level and may be more representative of real-world clinical scenarios. Summary of Data: Since its inception, NTO has provided hematology and oncology telehealth care to over 10,000 Veterans, of which 47.5% live in rural or highly rural areas, 76.5% are white and 13.2% are black or African American. Because the NTO program provides clinical care via telehealth modalities, patients who receive care through NTO may be more comfortable with participating in CTs that use telehealth, and thus are part of a pool of potentially eligible subjects.Since creation of the DCT program, three cancer DCTs have been conducted in the VA (1) BNT001 Digital Therapeutic Feasibility Pilot Study, (2) Cemiplimab Survivorship Epidemiology (CASE) Study, and (3) Proof-Of-ConcepT DEcentralized CliNical TrIAL (POTENTIAL) study. The BNT study enrolled 24 Veterans, 19 were male, 22 were white, 13 lived in rural areas, and the median age at enrollment was 68 years, including numerous cancer diagnoses. Veterans enrolled in the BNT study received cancer care at seven VA facilities. The CASE study has enrolled 24 male Veterans, 23 were white, 5 lived in rural areas, and the median age at enrollment was 74 years. The POTENTIAL study enrolled 4 male Veterans, 3 were white, 2 lived in rural areas, and the median age at enrollment was 72 years. Upcoming DCTs will focus on the following disease types: metastatic non-small cell lung cancer, multiple myeloma, and relapsed/refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. Conclusions: The VA provides clinical cancer care to Veterans through the NTO program. The DCT program builds upon the existing clinical infrastructure to conduct CTs on a national scale. The NOP DCT team is a component of the VA’s Enhance Equity and Access to Clinical Trials (ENACT) initiative, which is part of Cancer Moonshot. The DCT program intends to expand CT opportunities to Veterans with cancer, minimize barriers to CT activation and enrollment, and improve access to cancer CTs for all Veterans.
