Побудовано регуляризоване інтегральне рівняння зовнішньої щодо неоднорідності задачі, а також математичні моделі неоднорідності, що з урахуванням умов контакту дають можливість визначити шуканий розподіл зусиль уздовж осі неоднорідності. Based on the structural and mechanics analysis of aero-engines rotor system, the dynamic model of the flexible rotor system with multi-supports are presented in order to solve the bearing misalignment problem of rotor system in aero-engines. The motion equations are derived through Lagrange method. The relationship between structural and mechanics characteristics parameters are built up. Finally, the dynamic influence of bearing misalignment on rotor system is divided into three kinds: additional rotor bending rigidity, additional bearing misalignment excitation force and additional imbalance. The equations suggest that additional imbalance excitation force activates the nonlinearity on rotor system and an additional 2× excitation force might appear.

To obtain intermediate temperature alloy solders with melting temperature of 400~600°C, (Ag-Cu28)-25Sn and (Ag-Cu28)-30Sn alloys were prepared by high energy ball milling. Ag-Cu-Sn nanocrystalline alloys have been obtained after milling for 40h. XRD results show that the (Ag-Cu28)-25Sn alloy consists of Ag4Sn and Cu3Sn, and the (Ag-Cu28)-30Sn alloy contains Ag4Sn, Cu3Sn and Cu6Sn5. The small polydispersed particles with size ranging from 1μm to about 25μm are observed from the (Ag-Cu28)-30Sn alloys milled for 40h by SEM. A large amount of small particles comprised of two or three grains are commonly observed by HRTEM, and average grain size is about 17.50nm. DSC results indicate that the melting points of the (Ag-Cu28)-25Sn and (Ag-Cu28)-30Sn alloys milled for 40h are 548.5°C and 539.3°C, respectively.

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: Diabetic foot ulcers (DFU) are a critical complication of diabetes mellitus (DM) affecting life quality and significantly impacting healthcare resources. OBJECTIVE: Determine the direct medical costs associated with treating DFU in King Fahad Hospital of the University and identify factors that could assist in developing resource management guidelines in Saudi Arabia. DESIGN: Retrospective study. SETTING: SETTING: King Fahad Hospital of the University, Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. PATIENTS AND METHODS: The study included diabetic patients admitted with foot ulcerations between 2007 and 2017 inclusive. We determined management costs including drug usage, wound dressings, surgical procedures, admissions, and basic investigation. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Factors affecting the direct perspective medical costs of managing DFU. SAMPLE SIZE: 99 patients. RESULTS: The overall cost of managing 99 patients with DFU was 6 618 043.3 SAR ($1 764 632.68 USD), which further translates to approximately 6684.9 SAR per patient/year ($1782.6 USD). The highest cost incurred was for admission expenditure (45.6%), followed by debridement (14.5%) and intensive care unit (ICU) admission (10.4%). CONCLUSION: The overall healthcare expenditure in treating DFU is high, with hospital admissions and surgical procedures adding a significant increase to the total cost. Focused patient education on overall glycemic control and prevention of DFU may decrease complications and hence, the overall cost. LIMITATIONS: Identified only the direct medical costs of DFU as the indirect costs were subjective and more difficult to quantify. CONFLICT OF INTEREST: None.

Abstract:
Palladium (Pd) is a cheap and effective electrocatalyst that is capable of replacing platinum (Pt) in various applications. However, the problem in using chemically synthesized Pd nanoparticles (PdNPs) is that they are mostly fabricated using toxic chemicals under severe conditions. In this study, we present a more environmentally-friendly process in fabricating biogenic Pd nanoparticles (Bio-PdNPs) using Citrobacter sp. isolated from wastewater sludge. Successful fabrication of Bio-PdNPs was achieved under anaerobic conditions at pH six and a temperature of 30 °C using sodium formate (HCOONa) as an electron donor. Citrobacter sp. showed biosorption capabilities with no enzymatic contribution to Pd(II) uptake during absence of HCOONa in both live and dead cells. Citrobacter sp. live cells also displayed high enzymatic contribution to the removal of Pd(II) by biological reduction. This was confirmed by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Electron Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS), and X-ray Diffraction (XRD) characterization, which revealed the presence Bio-PdNPs deposited on the bacterial cells. The bio-PdNPs successfully enhanced the anode performance of the Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC). The MFC with the highest Bio-PdNPs loading (4 mg Bio-PdNP/cm2) achieved a maximum power density of 539.3 mW/m3 (4.01 mW/m2) and peak voltage of 328.4 mV.

AbstractThe behaviours of constrained bulk columns of seeds of 3 important leguminous feed crops under compressive force applied at a uniform rate of 10 mm min-1 up to 100 kN at ≈ 9% moisture content (in dry basis) were studied to establish parameters which are relevant to the design of equipment for achieving product densification. Deformation varied significantly (P < 0.02) with crop type and was the highest in lupine seeds. Feed pea had the highest strain resistance value. Both deformation energy and volume energy requirements varied significantly (P < 0.0001) with crop type. Moduli of deformation of compressed feed pea, lupine, and soybean at an applied force of 100 kN were 269.7, 306.3, and 455.2 MPa, indicating the proportionate resistance of the crop materials to compressive strain. Precisely 4.43, 3.76, and 3.15 MJ m-3are required to achieve 56.7, 77.0, and 67.7% or 461.7, 539.3, and 500.4 kg m-3gains in bulk density in feed pea, lupine, and soybean, respectively. Deformation and volume energy demands correlated negatively (r = -0.934 and r = -0.78) with lipid presence. Crops with more oil appeared to deform more easily under compressive force. Higher deformations and lower energy demands may be possible at optimal combinations of force, product moisture, and depth.

Objective. To measure the impact generated by the implementation of the pharmacy-driven antimicrobial stewardship program of the Clínica Bíblica Hospital. Methods. This is a retrospective observational study that evaluates the consumption of antibiotics for the periods before and during implementation of the Clínica Bíblica Hospital antimicrobial stewardship program, calculated by means of defined daily dose per 1 000 patient-days and days of therapy per 1 000 patient-days. In addition, bacterial resistance patterns for the periods 2014–2015 and 2016–2017 were compared. Results. Consumption of most-used antibiotics was calculated, looking for trends that might be associated with the activities implemented by the Clínica Bíblica Hospital antimicrobial stewardship program. Comparing some of the antibiotics with the highest consumption in periods I and II, use of levofloxacin and ceftriaxone showed a decrease of 54.0% (p < 0.001) and 14.6% (p = 0.003), respectively, whereas there was an increase in the use of cefazolin of 4 539.3% (p < 0.001). Regarding percentage of bacterial resistance, in most bacterial isolates no statistically significant changes were observed between the two periods. Conclusions. A reduction in the overall consumption of antibiotics has been achieved over time, most likely attributable to the antimicrobial stewardship program. However, this trend was not observed for all the antibiotics studied. The pattern of resistance among the commonly isolated microorganisms did not vary greatly between the periods studied, which suggests that either the antimicrobial stewardship program may have prevented an increase in bacterial resistance since its implementation, or that it is too soon to see impact on bacterial resistance.

Abstract One of the challenges in developing garlic in Indonesia is increasing its competitiveness. It means that the price and quality must be able to compete with imported garlic. Apart from that, productivity also needs to be increased. Currently, the national demand for garlic is estimated at 539.3 thousand tons per year (2016-2019), where domestic production only reaches 134.7 tons. Therefore, the rest number is fulfilled by importing. This condition has spurred many parties to take part in supporting the garlic development program, including the Central Sulawesi provincial government. Napu Plateau in Poso District Central Sulawesi Province is an area above 1000 meter of sea level and has A rain type with agro-climatic zone A1. This condition is very suitable for the development of vegetable crops, including garlic. The research objective was to determine the adaptability of three local varieties of garlic. The activity was carried out in Watumaeta Village, North Lore Subdistrict, Poso District, Central Sulawesi in April-July 2020. The study used a Randomized Block Design with treatments of three local varieties of garlic, namely Lumbu Hijau, Sembalun and Tinombo. Number of repetitions were five units. Observed parameters included plant height, number of leaves and stem diameter, bulb diameter, bulb weight, and number of cloves. The results showed that the garlic varieties have no significant effect on all observed parameters, except stem diameter, bulb dry weight and number of cloves. Those three local varieties have average number 54,70-58,18 cm of plant height; 7,70-8,08 of leaves; 0,35-0,42 cm of stem diameter; 2,41-2,78 cm of cloves diameter; bulb dry weight 11,92-17,09 gram; 4,10-4,90 of number of cloves. Among the three local varieties, Tinombo from Parigi Moutong District was superior compare to the other two varieties.

Abstract The study experimentally scrutinized nutritional and engineering properties of Iranian black seed at a moisture content of 5.1% (w.b.) in order to design processing equipment and machinery for various post-harvest operations. Analysis of chemical composition, mineral content and fatty acid profile illustrated that the seeds had high nutritional value. Bulk density, true density and porosity were 539.3 kg/m3, 1009.4 kg/m3 and 46.5%, respectively. Mean values for angle of repose and terminal velocity were 5.6 m/s and 32.5°, respectively. Static friction coefficient on plywood, mild steel, aluminum and galvanized iron sheet were 0.53, 0.36, 0.32 and 0.37, respectively. Specific heat, thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity varied from 1642 to 2035 J/kgK, 0.17 to 0.22 W/mK and 9.3 to 10.4 × 10-8 m2/s, respectively. The force required for initiating seed rupture decreased from 57.36 to 35.1 N and 55.7 to 30.24 N, and the energy absorbed at seed rupture decreased from 51.24 to 21.31 mJ and 26.67 to 6.31 mJ, with increase in loading rate from 1 to 10mm/min, for vertical and horizontal orientations, respectively.

Abstract Background The biological synthesis of high value compounds in industry through metabolically engineered microorganism factories has received increasing attention in recent years. Valencene is a high value ingredient in the flavor and fragrance industry, but the low concentration in nature and high cost of extraction limits its application. Saccharomyces cerevisiae, generally recognized as safe, is one of the most commonly used gene expression hosts. Construction of S. cerevisiae cell factory to achieve high production of valencene will be attractive. Results Valencene was successfully biosynthesized after introducing valencene synthase into S. cerevisiae BJ5464. A significant increase in valencene yield was observed after down-regulation or knock-out of squalene synthesis and other inhibiting factors (such as erg9, rox1) in mevalonate (MVA) pathway using a recyclable CRISPR/Cas9 system constructed in this study through the introduction of Cre/loxP. To increase the supplement of the precursor farnesyl pyrophosphate (FPP), all the genes of FPP upstream in MVA pathway were overexpressed in yeast genome. Furthermore, valencene expression cassettes containing different promoters and terminators were compared, and PHXT7-VS-TTPI1 was found to have excellent performance in valencene production. Finally, after fed-batch fermentation in 3 L bioreactor, valencene production titer reached 539.3 mg/L with about 160-fold improvement compared to the initial titer, which is the highest reported valencene yield. Conclusions This study achieved high production of valencene in S. cerevisiae through metabolic engineering and optimization of expression cassette, providing good example of microbial overproduction of valuable chemical products. The construction of recyclable plasmid was useful for multiple gene editing as well.

Aim: The present study was designed to develop and characterize nanostructured lipid carriers (NLC) of Ofloxacin and Prednisolone for topical use in case of infections associated with inflammation. Materials and Methods: Ofloxacin was obtained as gift sample from Mankind Pharma Ltd, VillKyarta, P.O. Misserwal, Poonta Sahib, Sir Mour. H.P. Whereas Prednisolone was purchased from Yarrow chem., Mumbai. It was evaluated for its pre-formulation studies (organoleptic properties, melting point, solubility, compatibility, max. wavelength of absorption). NLCs were prepared through melt-emulsification followed by ultra-sonication technique. Further optimized batch of NLCs was incorporated into Gel. Formulated NLCs were evaluated in terms of morphological characteristics, particle size (Polydispersity Index), drug content, In-vitro drug release (using egg membrane), drug release kinetics (Ritger-Peppas diffusion method). Finally, gel containing NLCs was studied by physical characteristics, pH, viscosity, spreadability, drug content, In-vitro drug release and its kinetics. Results and Discussion: In pre-formulation study, drugs were found having the similar properties as described in Indian Pharmacopoeia (IP) and United States Pharmacopoeia (USP). SEM photomicrograph revealed that NLCs were spherical with more or less smooth surface; particle size 512.3-1703 nm and PDI- 0.399-0.742 (ofloxacin) and particle size 539.3-1736.7 nm and PDI- 0.335 - 0.711 (prednisolone);drug content was found in range of 56.7 - 75.6% for ofloxacin and 65.9 – 81.8% for prednisolone. NLC1 demonstrated maximum release rate with 83.37±1.70% and NLC8 73.96±0.53%.NLC6 was best fitted in Korsmeyer - peppas model as the regression coefficients were 0.960, 0.964, 0.977, 0.950, 0.980 & 0.987 respectively and prednisolone NLC 9 (0.953) and they were close to 1. Abstract:
Recent developments in manufacturing require holes on composite materials, especially on the carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) with smooth hole periphery, low delamination, burr formation, taper, better circularity, and a high processing speed. Its non-conductive surface (epoxy layering) limits its machining through electrical discharge machining (EDM). To overcome this limitation, an aluminum fixture has been designed to guide the copper electrode of EDM for producing holes on a CFRP sheet of 1 mm thickness at low machining complexity, cost, time, delamination, burr in hole periphery and without affecting the material’s surface quality and performance. Even components with high geometrical complexity can also be drilled through this approach. Here, a multi-quality analysis called grey relational analysis is developed for examining the hole quality attributes, considering peak current, pulse on and off time, and flushing pressure as input parameters. This approach points out the optimum factor level setting and critical parameters (pulse-on time and peak current) that regulate the hole attributes (entrance and exit diameter, circularity, taper, material removal, and tool wear rate). An artificial neural network model has been designed and trained through experimental data sets. This model can also be adopted during the determination of hole quality attributes when the parameter settings are beyond a defined boundary, as the regression analysis value is very close to 1, and model performance is 4.99e-10. Peak current = 4 A, pulse-on time = 25 µs, pulse-off time=25 µs, and flushing pressure = 0.6 MPa were the optimum drilling parameters. In the initial hole, average burr length is 391.75 μm, and delamination of 539.3 μm is noticed. But burr formation is very negligible with delamination of 350.7 μm being observed with uniform circularity (0.979), low taper angle (−0.81354°), and TWR (0.000069 g/min) under optimum drilling conditions through this drilling approach.
