Abstract:
Background and purpose. This study evaluated a modified specialized convolutional neural network (CNN) to improve the accuracy of medical images. Materials and Methods. We defined computed tomography (CT) images as belonging to one of the following 10 classes: head, neck, chest, abdomen, and pelvis with and without contrast media, with 10,000 images per class. We modified the CNN based on the AlexNet with an input size of 512 × 512. We resized the filter sizes of the convolution layer and max pooling. Using these modified CNNs, various models were created and evaluated. The improved CNN was evaluated to classify the presence or absence of the pancreas in the CT images. We compared the overall accuracy, which was calculated from images not used for training, to that of the ResNet. Results. The overall accuracies of the most improved CNN and ResNet in the 10 classes were 94.8% and 89.3%, respectively. The filter sizes of the improved CNN for the convolution layer were (13, 13), (7, 7), (5, 5), (5, 5), and (5, 5) in order from the first layer, and that of max-pooling was (7, 7). The calculation times of the most improved CNN and ResNet were 56 and 120 min, respectively. Regarding the classification of the pancreas, the overall accuracies of the most improved CNN and ResNet were 75.75% and 58.25%, respectively. The calculation times of the most improved CNN and ResNet were 36 and 55 min, respectively. Conclusion. By optimizing the filter size of the convolution layer and max-pooling of 512 × 512 images, we quickly obtained a highly accurate medical image classification model. This improved CNN can be useful for classifying lesions and anatomies for related diagnostic aid applications.

Abstract:
ABSTRACTBiofilm formation complicates the treatment of various infections caused byCandidaspecies. We investigated the effects of simultaneous or sequential combinations of two triazoles, voriconazole (VRC) and posaconazole (PSC), with two echinocandins, anidulafungin (AND) and caspofungin (CAS), againstCandida albicansandCandida parapsilosisbiofilms in comparison to their planktonic counterparts. Antifungal activity was assessed by the 2,3-bis[2-methoxy-4-nitro-5-sulfophenyl]2H-tetrazolium-5-carboxanilide (XTT) metabolic assay. Antifungal-agent interactions were analyzed by the Bliss independence model in the simultaneous-treatment studies and by analysis of variance (ANOVA) in the sequential-treatment studies. AgainstC. albicansplanktonic cells, the simultaneous combination of PSC (32 to 128 mg/liter) and CAS (0.008 to 0.25 mg/liter) was synergistic; the combinations of PSC (128 to 1,024 mg/liter) with AND (0.03 to 0.5 mg/liter) and VRC (32 to 512 mg/liter) with AND (0.008 to 0.03 mg/liter) were antagonistic. AgainstC. parapsilosisplanktonic cells, the interaction between VRC (32 to 1,024 mg/liter) and CAS (1 to 16 mg/liter) was antagonistic. All simultaneous antifungal combinations demonstrated indifferent interactions against biofilms of bothCandidaspecies. Damage to biofilms of both species increased (P< 0.01) in the presence of subinhibitory concentrations of echinocandins (0.008 to 0.064 mg/liter), followed by the addition of PSC (512 mg/liter forC. albicansand 64 to 512 mg/liter forC. parapsilosis) or VRC (256 to 512 mg/liter forC. albicansand 512 mg/liter forC. parapsilosis). Triazole-echinocandin combinations do not appear to produce antagonistic effects againstCandidasp. biofilms, while various significant interactions occur with their planktonic counterparts.

Abstract:
Different multiplanar reformation (MPR-512 and -256) algorithms of intraoperative acquired 3-D-fluoroscopy data exist without recommendations for use in the literature. To compare algorithms, 3-D-fluoroscopic data sets of 46 radius fractures were blinded and processed using MPR-256 and -512 (Ziehm, Vision-Vario 3D). Each reformatted data set was analysed to evaluate image quality, fracture reduction quality and screw misplacements. Overall image quality was higher rated in the MPR-512 compared with the MPR-256 (3.2 vs. 2.2 points, scale 1–5 points), accompanied by a reduced number of scans that could not be analysed (10 vs. 19%). Interobserver evaluation of fracture reduction quality was fair to moderate (independent of the algorithm). In contrast, for screw misplacements MPR-depended ratings were found (MPR-256: fair to moderate; MPR-512: moderate to substantial). Optimization of post-processing algorithms, rather than modifications of image acquisition, may increase the image quality for assessing implant positioning, but limitations in evaluating fracture reduction quality still exist.

Abstract:
This paper aims to improve SHA-512 security without increasing complexity; therefore, we focused on hash functions depending on DNA sequences and chaotic maps. After analysis of 45 various chaotic map types, only 5 types are selected in this proposal—namely, improved logistic, cosine logistic map, logistic sine system, tent sine system, and hybrid. Using DNA features and binary coding technology with complementary rules to hide information is a key challenge. This article proposes improving SHA-512 in two aspects: the modification of original hash buffer values, and the modification of additive constants Kt. This proposal is to make hash buffer values (a, b, c, d, e, f, g, and h) and Kt dependent on one-dimensional discrete chaotic maps and DNA sequences instead of constant. This modification complicates the relationship between the original message and hash value, making it unexpected. The performance of the proposed hash function is tested and analyzed the confusion, diffusion, and distributive and compared with the original SHA-512. The performance of security is analyzed by collision analysis, for which the maximum number of hits is only three, showing that the proposed hash function enhances the security and robustness of SHA-512. The statistical data and experimental analysis indicate that the proposed scheme has good properties and satisfies high-performance requirements for secure hash functions.

Bautzova, Tereza. "Les systèmes microparticulaires pour la libération colonique." Phd thesis, Université de Franche-Comté, 2012. http://tel.archives-ouvertes.fr/tel-00830507.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Achieving high bit rates is the main goal of wireless technologies like 5G and beyond. This translates to obtaining high spectral efficiencies using large number of antennas at the transmitter and receiver (single user massive multiple input multiple output or SU-MMIMO). It is possible to have a large number of antennas in the mobile handset at mm-wave frequencies in the range 30–300 GHz due to the small antenna size. In this work, we investigate the bit-error-rate (BER) performance of SU-MMIMO in two scenarios (a) using serially concatenated turbo code (SCTC) in uncorrelated channel and (b) parallel concatenated turbo code (PCTC) in correlated channel. Computer simulation results indicate that the BER is quite insensitive to re-transmissions and wide variations in the number of transmit and receive antennas. Moreover, we have obtained a BER of 10−5 at an average signal-to-interference plus noise ratio (SINR) per bit of just 1.25 dB with 512 transmit and receive antennas (512 × 512 SU-MMIMO system) with a spectral efficiency of 256 bits/transmission or 256 bits/sec/Hz in an uncorrelated channel. Similar BER results have been obtained for SU-MMIMO using PCTC in correlated channel. A semi-analytic approach to estimating the BER of a turbo code has been derived.

Abstract:
The article examines the reflection of Heinrich Heine’s poetry and persona in the work of the contemporary Russian poet Timur Kibirov who was greatly influenced by Heine though not through original texts but through numerous translations into Russian (so called “Russian Heine”). This influence is acknowledged by Kibirov in his poem in prose Dead Crones and demonstrated in this article on several levels: the level of direct references to Heine; the level of individual quotes and allusions; the level of fundamental principles of poetics and worldview. The creative reception of Heine by Kibirov is highly unusual and goes far beyond the traditional attitude toward the German poet: Heine is commonly perceived as a rebel, a sufferer and the last Romantic poet whose writings highlight ironic dissonances, while in Kibirov’s creations he appears as a harmonic personality, and his poetry — as a kind of vaccine against decadent worldview and “Romanticism”.

Abstract:
We have built an imaging radiometer for mapping temperature variations on the face of solar receivers. It is designed to image a 700-sun, 600-mm square solar receiver that operates between 400°C and 900°C. The imager is located 5 m from the receiver; this allows it to operate in a moderately absorbing spectral band near 1.9 μm. Over the 5-m path, the in-band transmission is about 80%, while the whole atmosphere absorbs nearly all of the sunlight; thus, the system is nearly solar-blind. We are using a 512 × 512 pixel, PbO–PbS vidicon that has a calculated signal-to-noise ratio of S/N = 9 for a 400°C receiver temperature. For temperatures over 500°C, the camera limits us to S / N = 100. The spatial resolution of the camera lens is good enough to fully resolve the temperature in each pixel. The camera mates to standard video equipment. All of the commonly used imaging radiometers either have much poorer resolution or are not solar-blind.

Abstract:
Three hundred eighty-six patients with acute myocardial infarction received up to 150 mg rt-PA (single chain) IV either over 8 h (60mg over 1 h, 20 mg/h for 2 h,10 mg/h for 5 h)(173 pts) or over"5h(1 mg/kg over 1 h, remainder over 4 h) (213 pts),before randomization to early or late angioplasty. Blood was collected on a lyophilized mixture of citrate and the t-PA inhibitor D-Phe-Pro-Arg-CH2C1 (PPACK), to maximally prevent in vitro fibrinolytic activation and concomitant fibrinogen degradation. The plasma rt-PA level increased to 2.4±2.0 /μg/ml(mean +SD)and 1.7 ±1.3 /μg/ml after 3h and to 1.0 ±1.8 and 1.0 ±0.9 /μg/ml at the end of the infusion.Fibrinogen levels (coagulation rate assay) fell to 5 ± 28 and 52 ± 27% at 3 h and to53 ± 28 and 47 μ 26% at the endof infusion.Fibrinogen degradation productsincreased to 32 /μg/ml (median, with 10 and 90 percentile values of 2 and 512 /μg/ml) after 3h and to3 2 /μg/1 (median, with 10 and 90 percentile values of 2and 512 ug/ml) at the end of infusion. The fibrinogen decreased to below 1 g/1 in 23% of patients and b e low 0-5 g/1 in 11% after 3 h infusion with corresponding values of 33% and 12%at the end of infusion. Thus, at the infusion rates required for rapid coronary artery reperfusion in man, rt-PA remains relatively fibrin-specific. The cause of the extensive fibrinogen depletion occurring in some patients remains to be further investigated.

Abstract:
The socio-economic role in the development of peasant farming in the current conditions of import substitution will certainly increase, especially in filling local and regional markets with agricultural products. The limiting factor of farms of any form of ownership are parasitic diseases. Studies on the infection of livestock animals were carried out at a peasant farm enterprise of the Dmitrov City District of the Moscow Region. Feces were taken individually from each animal: cattle (70 lactating cows, and 32 young bulls on fattening), goats (15 milk goats, and 12 baby goats kept together), 10 Vietnamese pot–bellied pigs, 2 horses and ponies. Based on the conducted studies, it was found that the cattle, namely the lactating cows and bulls on fattening were infected by pathogens of gastrointestinal strongylatosis by 14.3 and 50%, and the milk and young goats, by 100%, which indicates a high infection rate of these pathogens in ruminants. Also, the nematode Strongyloides papillosus (IP=80%) and protozoa from the genus Eimeria (IP=53%) were identified in the mature goats. In the Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs, horses and ponies, the most common helminth infections were identified, namely: Oesophagostomum (IP=50%) and Ascaris suum (IP=80%) and pathogens from the Strongylata suborder, respectively.

Abstract:
An original observation of platelet agglutination was found in a 63 y.o. man during 5 years following, without spontaneous bleeding. Low platelet counts (10 × 109/liter) and large agglutinates were observed on blood specimens collected into EDTA (1 to 15 mg/ml whole blood WB), citrate (1/10 volume citrate 0.11 M), sodium heparin (100 units/ml WB), citrate plus acetyl salicylic acid (5 to 100 mg/ml WB), citrate plus prostacyclin (Upjohn 10−5 to 10−6 M)? and buffering anticoagulant (0.8 M citrate, pH 4.65). Low platelet count and large agglutinates were also observed in capillary blood obtained by finger puncture kept at 22° or 37°C. All techniques revealed significant clumping making assessment of overall platelet number impossible. Bleeding time Ivy horizontal incision is longer than 20 minutes.Patient's serum induced normal platelets agglutination up to a 1/512 dilution at 22°and 37°C temperature. Lack of agglutination after treatment of the serum by IgM and indirect immunofluorescence tests identified the IgM nature of the agglutinating factor. This antibody reacted with Glanzmann thrombasthenia platelets ruling out the IIb/IIIa complex as the target of this agglutinin. There was no evidence of platelet activation following agglutination of autologous or alldgenic platelets : electronic microscopy of native blood platelets clumps did not show any sign of activation, and plasma level of B-thromboglobulin was normal in this patient. Normal platelets agglutination by patient's serum was not accompanied with ATP secretion (luciferin-luciferase).This IgM agglutinin was associated with elevation of IgM (700 mg/dl) without clinical or biological signs of auto-immune disease. No similar case with irreversible platelet agglutination in both capillary or venous blood has been reported before. The significance of the observation remains obscure.

Abstract:
In additive construction, ambitious goals to fabricate a concrete building in less than 24 hours are attempted. In the field, this goal relies on a metric of print time to make this conclusion, which excludes rest time and delays. The task to complete a building in 24 hours was put to the test with the first attempt at a fully continuous print of a structurally reinforced additively constructed concrete (ACC) building. A time series analysis was performed during the construction of a 512 ft2 (16’x32’x9.25’) building to explore the effect of delays on the completion time. This analysis included a study of the variation in comprehensive layer print times, expected trends and forecasting for what is expected in future prints of similar types. Furthermore, the study included a determination and comparison of print time, elapsed time, and construction time, as well as a look at the effect of environmental conditions on the delay events. Upon finishing, the analysis concluded that the 3D-printed building was completed in 14-hours of print time, 31.2- hours elapsed time, a total of 5 days of construction time. This emphasizes that reports on newly 3D-printed constructions need to provide a definition of time that includes all possible duration periods to communicate realistic capabilities of this new technology.
