Introduction: Multimodal protocols, when used, enhance several perioperative clinical variables. Limited information is available about the reduction of preoperative fasting with administration of clear liquids enriched with carbohydrate and immunomodulators in orthopedic surgeries. The ACERTO (Accelerated Postoperative Total Recovery) is based on an existing European program (ERAS) and based on the paradigm of evidence-based medicine. It is an educational program. Objectives: To evaluate clinical, biochemical inflammatory variables and safety of the method, shortening up the fast with drink containing carbohydrates and use of immunomodulatory diet in patients undergoing surgery for total hip arthroplasty using cementless technique on the femur and the acetabulum without cement (total hip arthroplasty hybrid type). Methods: A prospective study of 32 patients (16 males, with a mean age of 58 years ranging de 26 to 85 years) were randomized into two groups: 17 patients (Group ACERTO) undergoing abbreviated to offer 12,5% maltodextrin fasting, 2h before induction of anesthesia and use of immunomodulatory diet for five days prior to surgery; 15 patients (Group CONTROL) fasted for 8 hours without preoperative nutritional therapy. Clinically aspiration during induction of anesthesia and hospitalization time and in laboratory tests the levels of hemoglobin (Hb), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and C-reactive protein (CRP) preoperatively and 48 hours postoperatively were evaluated. Results: There were no deaths, infections, dislocations of the prosthesis, reoperation, or blood transfusions. No cases of aspiration occurred during anesthetic induction. Group ACERTO patients had, on average, two days less hospitalization (P < 0,01). Results of hemoglobin did not differ among groups in preoperative and postoperative. VHS values remained similar between groups postoperatively (p = 0,09), but CRP was higher in the control group postoperatively (p = 0,01). Conclusion: Preoperative fasting abbreviation with of carbohydrates in total hip arthroplasty is safe and may be practiced. The protocol investigated as a whole, decreased hospital stay and CRP levels postoperatively.

Full textThis thesis take as its reference the problematic and work that constitute the thought of Frantz Fanon about colonialism and decolonization. The reflexion is attentive to the epistemic dimensions that pervade the work of this author and its possibilities to an analyses of technology and technological education. This work intends, as a whole, to evaluate, in the discourses that weave the narrative of Fanon’s archives, the conditioners that subject black people in a subaltern order of subjectivation, which restrict their appropriation of science and technology, toward the configuration of new discourses and alternative social practices. Fanon’s observations are reported about the relationship of the Algerian people with knowledges, products and professionals of science and technology, during the war of liberation, which allow us to suggest that Fanon would have being one of the precursors of STS Studies - Science, Technology and Society Studies. The analyses of the categories of acknowledgment and the notion of new humanism proposed by Fanon are aligned to sustain six categories of the liberation philosophy and of the poiesis – production philosophy – in the view of a decolonized technological design. The evidences collected are confronted with codes that racially mark the technological education in Brazil, in detriment of black people. Finalize with brief considerations, suggesting new studies about the themes raised along the thesis.

Exposure to very rapid changes concerning concepts, paradigms, behaviors, among others aspects is a tendency of the modern world. The transition periods to these changes amendments and adaptations are getting shorter and shorter, causing distress and anxiety in individuals, who feel compelled to porcess a large amount of information quickly, affecting their personal and professional relationships. The professional of information is displayed in this scenario as being the one who deals directly with the impact caused by the documental explosion and the technological innovations (and their demands). It is intended in this study to assess the level of job satisfaction of these professionals - workers of a Federal Institution of Higher Education - and the possible relations with the working conditions and work organization. Two scales, aiming to measure job satisfaction, were applied to the subjects of the study as the methodology to achieve the goals: the EST and the EIPST. The results obtained after the data analysis show that surveyed professionals are managing to balance the pleasure and suffering at work, thus indicating more satisfaction than dissatisfaction among the dimensions addressed.

ABSTRACT The objective of this work was to study the effect of planting spacing and time in the production of biomass in the economic rotation, and dendrometric variable and stand variables of a stand of eucalyptus clonal. The experiment was performed in areas of the company APERAM BIOENERGIA in the city of Itamarandiba, MG, using a randomized block design. The plots consisted of five spacing initial (3.0 x 0.5 m, 3.0 x 1.0 m, 3.0 x 1.5 m, 3.0 and 3.0 x 2.0 x 3.0 m) and measurements were performed at 7, 12, 18, ??24, 48, 61, 77, 85 and 102 months. From the information collected in the field were estimated for each treatment the volume and biomass per hectare, density, calorific value, and other dendrometric variable and stand variables. It was found that the spacing and age influence significant on the values ??of average diameter, height total, basal area, volume total per hectare, biomass per hectare, density and calorific value. The growth in volume per hectare in the biomass per hectare and basal area per hectare was directly related to planting density, and the higher values ??for the smaller spacing. On the other hand the average diameter and total height of the trees were negatively correlated with the density. The specific gravity tends to increase with age and with the spacing of the trees. And the calorific value tends to rise with age and with the planting spacing. The spacing did not influence the survival rate of trees. The technique rotation and economic rotation occurred earlier in smaller plantings spaced. For all spacing the technique age cutting was higher than the economic age cutting. The spacing of 3.0 x 1.5 proved to be a more attractive option according to the criteria net present value and equivalent periodic benefit, considering the sale of standing timber.
