Abstract:
Vascular dysfunction is one of the primary factors in the onset and progression of atherosclerosis and other vascular-related diseases such as acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH). Emerging evidence indicates that pathological blood vessel responses and endothelial dysfunction are associated with metabolic alterations in endothelial cells (ECs). The identification of the insights and causes resulting in dysfunctional ECs is crucial for the understanding of the disease and to the development of new therapeutic tools. Therefore, to study the characteristics of such EC dysfunction in AMI and CTEPH diseases, we aim to determine the protein profile and/or the altered redox status of patient-derived EC lines by using mass spectrometry-based label-free quantitative proteomic and/or, spectrophotometric and fluorometric approaches. Moreover, quantitative proteomic approach was used to explore the underlying mechanisms of 3PO [(3-(3-Pyridinyl)-1-(4-pyridinyl)-2-propen-1-one), PFKFB3 inhibitor] at cellular level. 3PO is a compound able to inhibit the glycolytic flux partially and transiently and to reduce pathological angiogenesis in a variety of disease models. Bioinformatic and network analyses performed on pathologic HCAEC-AMI cells revealed the alteration of a) metabolism of RNA, b) platelet activation, signaling and aggregation, c) neutrophil degranulation, d) metabolism of amino acids and derivatives, e) cellular responses to stress and, f) response to elevated platelet cytosolic Ca2+ pathways. Similarly, network analysis in pathologic CTEPH-ECs, revealed the differentially regulation of pathways related to a) neutrophil and platelet degranulation, b) metabolism of lipids, amino acids and selenoamino acids, c) response to elevated cytosolic Ca2+, d) detoxification of reactive oxygen species. In addition, the main parameters, indicators of the redox status of both HCAEC-AMI and CTEPH-ECs were significantly increased: advanced oxidation protein products (AOPPs), protein carbonyls (PCO) content, and intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS). Interestingly, the amount of GSH/GSSG (reduced glutathione/oxidized glutathione) and NADPH/NADP (reduced/oxidized form of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate) ratios in dysfunctional ECs were reduced, a clear indication of oxidative stress involvement in both the pathological ECs. Finally, 3PO has multiple targets in the ECs, targeting mitochondrial inner membrane and it inhibits the important cellular pathways including the tricarboxylic acid cycle, the mitochondrial respiratory chain, and vasculogenesis, that may be useful for understanding the inhibitory effect of 3PO on EC proliferation and migration. Therefore, the present data suggest a potential application of this molecule as a starting point in designing novel molecules to prevent diseases where inflammatory reactions are involved, such as in atherosclerosis, cancer or neurodegenerative diseases.

Abstract:
Services of 3PL providers are nowadays very commonly used by production and merchant firms. It is happening due to companies' concentration on their own core-business and outsourcing of many of their activities to external suppliers. This thesis is focused on marketing activities of a 3PL provider, which is a specific part of the B2B market, as well as the logistics market. The thesis consists of three parts. First chapter is focused on theoretical definition of marketing and individual aspects, which marketing is concerned with. In the second part, the logistics, the specifies of 3PL logistics and the logistic market in the Czech Republic are presented. These theoretical findings are applied to a particular firm. Its marketing strategy is evaluated and a set of recommendations is proposed to enhance marketing position of the company.

This Master's Thesis focuses on outsourcing of logistics services. In the theoretical part of the thesis there is a general description of outsourcing of logistics services, advantages and disadvantages of logistics outsourcing, history and current state of the logistic market and attitude of providers of logistics services towards sustainable development. Next part of the thesis describes phases of outsourcing process, types of contracts and tools that help control outsourcing relationship. In the practical part of the thesis in-depth interviews are used to analyze needs of 3PL client. Based on the information gathered from the in-depth interviews recommendations are created. These recommendations are supposed to raise client's satisfaction and evolve and improve cooperation. The aim of this Master's Thesis is to determine gaps between client's request and real state of provided services.

Jag valde att prova att formge och utveckla denna dels för att det är en målgrupp som ligger långt ifrån mig själv och dels för att det var en utmaning att bygga en fullskalemodell.

Based on analysis of a particular outsourcing warehousing contract held between global company and 3PL, this thesis has three goals: evaluate current contract compared to standard contractual requirements, evaluate the option of switching the outsourcing relationship from open book to closed book approach, and suggest solution that would use the potential of the provider most. Break event point analysis, labour productivity analysis and method of managerial decision making were used in this thesis. Closed book and open book approaches were analysed in original way using previously mentioned methods. The recommendation to the company is to keep current open book contract with implementing quality KPI's and performance-based outsourcing in accordance with vested outsourcing approach.

Ce travail s'inscrit comme une contribution a l'etude des terres rares dans les particules et les sediments marins. Deux domaines oceaniques ont ete etudies : la marge continentale et la dorsale medio-oceanique. L'etude de la marge continentale a ete realisee dans le but d'estimer le transfert des particules des continents vers le milieu oceanique profond. Des campagnes se sont deroulees dans le golfe de gascogne pour evaluer les flux de matieres traversant le canyon du cap ferret, principal site local de transfert. Les sediments du plateau, les particules sedimentant dans le canyon et les depots sedimentaires du talus continental presentent des spectres en terres rares identiques a ceux rencontres dans les shales. Un enrichissement en terres rares legeres est observe. Il se degage de ces informations que les materiels particulaires collectes sur le plateau continental, dans la colonne d'eau du canyon et sur la pente ont un caractere terrigene dominant et que leur composition en terres rares ne change pas lors de leur transfert des continents vers les oceans. L'etude du comportement des terres rares a proximite de la dorsale medio-atlantique a ete realisee dans le cadre de la campagne geofar. L'echantillonnage s'est deroule a proximite du volcan lucky strike (37\20n) et dans les plaines pelagiques environnantes. Ce travail permet de souligner l'impact de la dorsale sur la sedimentation locale. Les apports detritiques d'origine basaltique semblent peu importants et essentiellement localises a la dorsale elle-meme (volcan lucky strike). Les acores constitueraient une seconde source de produits volcaniques. L'anomalie negative en cerium, rencontree sur l'ensemble du site, et associee ici aux oxydes de fer d'origine hydrothermale, tend a indiquer que l'hydrothermalisme est peu actif dans cette region mais que des sources importantes situees au sud contribuent manifestement a la sedimentation locale.

Cette these porte sur l'ionisation penning des molecules co, n#2 et c#2h#2 par impact d'atomes d'helium et de neon dans des etats metastables. Dans la premiere partie, les modeles theoriques ainsi que les differents mecanismes d'ionisation coexistants lors du processus penning sont exposes. Le dispositif experimental utilise est ensuite etudie en detail. Il permet l'obtention des spectres en energie des electrons ejectes ainsi que leur distribution angulaire. Nous avons plus particulierement etudie les niveaux vibrationnels des ions crees. Lors de l'etude des interactions he#* (2#1#,#3s) - co, ne#* (#3p#0#,#2) - co, n#2 et c#2h#2, nous avons montre la superposition de l'ionisation penning directe (appelee voie covalente) et d'un processus d'ionisation indirecte. Nos observations mettent en evidence l'existence de transferts d'excitation vers des etats autoionisants. Ce travail montre que ces etats sont des etats de rydberg pour les interactions ne#* - co, ne#* - n#2 et he#* - co, et des resonances de forme pour les interactions he#* - co et ne#* - c#2h#2. Cette these prouve que l'etude conjointe des populations des niveaux vibrationnels et de la distribution angulaire des electrons correspondant permet la mise en evidence de l'intervention de transferts d'excitation lors de l'ionisation penning.

Problem The use of e-commerce has become increasingly popular, largely due to its benefits help firms to improve the competitiveness and the integration. However, not all of the firms using e-commerce are successful. Many new promising e-commerce com-panies are now struggling with economic survival, even have failed, often due to ne-glecting the role of logistics. This is because using e-commerce requires them to review and design a new logistical approach in order to deal with the customers’ demands. To build entirely new logistical functions for e-commerce, it seems to be difficult since not all of firms have an ability to solve this matter. Using 3PL services, thus, seems to be the best option for e-commerce. It leads to the need of 3PL firms to change the services in order to adapt to e-commerce. But the previous studies have not paid much attention on this issue, so it should be explored. Purpose The purpose of this thesis is to investigate services and adaption of 3PL pro-vider to e-commerce customers. It consists of two parts. Firstly, we investigate the typi-cal services provided for e-commerce customers from 3PL providers and how these dif-fer to regular customers. Secondly, how 3PL providers adapt to the presence of e-commerce customers will be clarified. Method This thesis employs an exploratory study with a mixed method. Data are col-lected through survey questionnaires and semi-structured interviews by phone with sev-en 3PL firms in Sweden. The findings then have been analyzed by using the theoretical framework. Conclusion Firstly, we conclude that the services 3PL providers typically offer for e-commerce customers are warehousing, packaging, transportation, labeling, product re-turn and inventory management. The 3PL providers have made some changes in their services in order to adapt to e-commerce customers. For example, different 3PL provid-ers have different distribution channels to serve e-commerce customers. Secondly, our findings support the conclusion that there are five specific challenges 3PL providers face with e-commerce customers. These challenges are product return handling, fore-casting, warehousing, distribution, and integrated IT system. Finally, the degree of ad-aptation of 3PL providers to e-commerce customers is dependent on the current type of 3PL providers for regular customers.

Since the business environment of today is characterized to be dynamic and service-driven, corporations are looking for solutions how to cut costs and still keep their competitive advantage in the market, and also how to decrease lead-time and flexibility. In this environment are 3PL-providers operating with an incentive to always please the customer. This study will investigate a 3PL-provider´s information sharing with its customer and how value can be extracted from this type of sharing. The purpose of this thesis is to understand and investigate the value of information sharing between the 3PL-provider and its customer. Two research questions have been dictated; R1: How do the respondents at the 3PL-provider perceive the relationship with their customer? R2: How are information requirements met? For the frame of reference have theories in the area of third-party logistics, information, relation, and value been studied. The carrying out of the study has been performed with a bounded ethnography approach since this study has essences from both the scientific and ethnographic approaches. The research reasoning is mainly inductive but with deductive elements. The research strategy is of qualitative character, where the data collection has been carried out through interviews/discussions within multiple case studies. There were several interviews launched within the target 3PL-relationships. The analysis of the empirical findings has been done through the existing theories in the frame of reference. The investigation showed that improvements of the information requirements and utilization of the communication methods improves the quality of the information sharing, and the conclusion drawn is that the information requirements and communication methods are big contributors for the information sharing as a whole. Since the information sharing is considered a big contributor to the customer value one can use the customer value as reference for how to value the information sharing. A main conclusion is therefore that the value of information sharing is dependent on its contribution for the customer value.

El proceso que pasa una vacuna a través de la cadena de suministro de frío tiende a requerir un estándar de alta calidad. La importancia de este producto para el consumo humano se ha vuelto necesaria en todo el mundo. Esta investigación tendrá en cuenta los principales factores que afectan la eficiencia y el rendimiento del producto sensible a la temperatura; Se aplicará una herramienta que mejore las condiciones en el almacenamiento y en el método de trabajo enfocado bajo un análisis de operación. Además de esto, analizaremos un estudio de caso de un operador logístico en Perú, se propondrán mejoras en los procesos más importantes y críticos. Como método de validación, se utilizará una simulación del modelo propuesto y se llevará a cabo utilizando el software Arena. Las técnicas de distribución de la planta también se aplicarán para evaluar el diseño. Los resultados disminuyen el proceso de selección en un 27% y eliminan los errores que ocurren. En un nuevo diseño, el costo del viaje disminuye en un 48%. Otro resultado que tiene un impacto directo en la cadena es la reducción sistemática del costo asociado con el suministro y la cadena de la vacuna, que en promedio se reduce en un 10% del total.
The process that a vaccine passes through the cold supply chain tends to require a high quality standard. The importance of this product for human consumption has become necessary throughout the world. This research will take into account the main factors that affect the efficiency and performance of the temperature sensitive product; a tool will be applied that improves the conditions in the storage and in the method of work focused under an analysis of operation. In addition to this, we will analyze a case study of a logistics operator in Peru, improvements in the most important and critical processes will be proposed. As a validation method, a simulation of the proposed model will be used and will be carried out using the Arena software. Plant distribution techniques will also be applied to evaluate the design. Results decrease the selection process by 27% and eliminate errors that occur. In a new design, the cost of the trip decreases by 48%. Another result that has a direct impact on the chain is the systematic reduction of the cost associated with the supply and chain of the vaccine, which on average is reduced by 10% of the total.

Bakgrund: Flexibilitet eller förmågan att reagera på osäkerhet i omgivningen utan att det medför brister i tid, ansträngning, kostnader eller prestationer, har blivit allt viktigare. Flexibilitet i en leverans innebär att företagen ska ha förmågan att genomföra förändringar i en pågående leverans för att uppfylla konsumentens behov.  Syfte: Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka vilka krav konsumenterna har på flexibilitet inom e-handeln, samt hur företag som verkar inom e-handeln kan anpassa sig efter och bli bättre på att hantera konsumenternas krav på flexibla leveranser. Även hur företag inom e-handel kan utveckla förändringsförmåga i en omvärld som är i ständig förändring.  Metod: Studien utgår från en kvalitativ forskningsmetod och har genomförts genom en fallstudie. Studien har genomförts genom en semistrukturerad intervju på fallföretaget men även genom mejlintervjuer och enkäter till fallföretagets 3PL-kunder. Studien har ett realistiskt synsätt och ett deduktivt angreppssätt Slutsats: Det finns olika brister i PostNords order-och leveransprocess: Brist på integration med 3PL-kunderna, brist på hur leveransen ska ske, brist på att leverera same-day, brist i tidsintervaller och brist i uppföljning efter leverans. Dessa kan bland annat åtgärdas genom att öka integrationen med 3PL-kunderna genom system och avtal, öka konsumenternas valfrihet i tid och plats genom exempelvis collect-in-store, snabbrörlighet, affärsutveckling för att konsumenter ska kunna delta i uppfyllandet av kraven inom flexibilitet, self-collecting för att minska antalet misslyckade leveranser, prestationsmatriser för att fastställa en kundservicestrategi och genom att anställa mer personal.
Context: Flexibility, or the ability to respond to uncertainty in the environment without causing shortcomings in time, effort, cost or performance has become increasingly important. Flexibility in a delivery means that companies should be able to implement changes in an ongoing delivery in order to meet customer needs.  Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate what requirements consumers have on e-commerce flexibility, and how e-commerce companies can adapt to and be better at managing consumer demand for flexible deliveries. Even how e-commerce companies can develop changeability in an environment that is constantly changing. Method: The study is based on a qualitative research method and has been conducted through a case study. The study has been conducted through a semi-structured interview at the case company, but also through email interviews and surveys to the case company's 3PL customers. The study has a realistic approach and a deductive approach.  Results: There are various shortcomings in PostNord's order and delivery process: Lack of integration with 3PL customers, lack of how delivery should be done, lack of delivery of same-day, shortage of time intervals, and lack of follow-up after delivery. These can be resolved by increasing integration with 3PL customers through systems and agreements, increasing consumer choice in time and place through collect-in-store, agility, business development to enable consumers to participate in meeting the requirements of flexibility, self -collecting to reduce the number of failed deliveries, performance matrices to determine a customer service strategy and by hiring more staff.

This Master’s thesis concentrates on the investigation of the automotive third party logistics (3PL) industry in China. Therefore the overall aim of this thesis is the investigation of the Chinese 3PL environment with the focus on automotive industry. In order to clarify this aim, following four research objectives are set: 1)      Identify barriers and conditions of the 3PL market, taking automotive market as an example market for 3PL services. 2)      Identify market specific logistics services and compare different logistics services providers in this environment. 3)      Assess the Chinese industrial structures and their impact on foreign enterprises and create an actual picture of the automotive industry. 4)      Detect industrial structures’ influences on logistics services competition. Such a research is important as existing research focused on these objectives is extremely rare or not present. The research objectives are solved by a multi-method approach. In wide areas this thesis is a descriptive study. Thus barriers and conditions of the 3PL market, taking automotive market as an example market for 3PL services, are identified in an extensive literature review and combined with findings from interviews. These interviews are performed in a case company which is active in the Chinese automotive 3PL market. Many important characteristics and circumstances which can mainly be seen as barriers for logistics business are identified in the areas of Infrastructure and equipment, Supply and demand of logistics services, Importance of relationships, Legal issues and Staff requirements. Market specific logistics services are also identified in a literature review. In a next step these services are used to compare seven relevant 3PL providers in the industry by doing a questionnaire survey. The research shows that services mentioned in literature present in the industry. No significant differences between different competitors can be found. Thus none of these companies shows a competitive advantage due to their service portfolios. Industrial structures for both industries automotive manufacturing and automotive 3PL are assessed by combining findings from literature and from empirical internet research. Thus industrial structures in China are ruins of earlier years in China’s history. State-owned enterprises play an important role in China’s automotive manufacturing industry. These companies are involved in the overwhelming share of the passenger car production. An interesting finding is that most passenger cars arise from joint ventures between these Chinese car groups and foreign car manufacturers. The Chinese car groups and the joint ventures create a network like structure in the industry. 3PL providers appear differently. Major companies identified are wholly-owned foreign companies, joint-ventures between Chinese car groups and foreign logistics providers or subsidiaries of car groups. Affiliations between logistics joint ventures and Chinese car groups indicate that competition might not be unrestrictedly present in the market.

It then tries to create a roadmap identifying the major opportunities which 3PLs should optimize in order to become true value-added service providers and long term strategic business partners in the value network.

Abstract:
Purpose – This thesis explores and identifies issues considered critical when engaging third-party logistics (3PL) in an asphalt-manufacturing project. The research highlights and discusses those issues including the reliability and maintainability of the equipment used in hauling materials in the project.Methodology – A comprehensive literature review is carried out on topics relevant to supply chain management and third party logistics involvement in manufacturing projects. Empirical data are collected from a single exploratory case study– Nordic construction company (NCC) Gävle, Sweden. Semi-structured interviews and a brief empirical observation are used in gathering data for this research. Numerical data are analyzed with the application of engineering/statistical theories. Data analyses are performed by relating established theoretical models with empirical findings.Findings – The findings in this thesis underlined reliability, trust, quality, communication, material haulage, and commitment as critical issues affecting 3PL involvement in the in-house material transportation of an asphalt-manufacturing project. Only Volvo Equipment (brand) is used in the project and its failure rate became very low when exponential distribution theory was applied to check its trustworthiness. The reliability and maintainability of NCC’s delivery equipment showed high significant performance without 3PL involvement. Moreover, the implementation of 3PL within the project has potential benefits, such as cost reduction, and increased employment within the municipality etc. As an environmentally focused project, the standard temperature for asphalt production dropped from conventional 1600C down to 1200C without undermining the quality of asphalt being produced at the plant.Limitations & Further Research – The generalizability of the concluding results in the study is limited based on selection of only one case-company involving only five persons for data collection and analyses. This study adopts reliability-engineering formulas as instruments used in checking the trustworthiness of the delivery equipment used in the project with focus on the useful period of the machineries. Performing a similar study with a focus on a different period (e.g. wearing-out period of the equipment) would be valuable especially in encouraging Lean Production, Innovation management (RD) in industrial engineering and manufacturing.Practical Implications – The outlined critical issues can generally be helpful to any manufacturing company that is considering 3PL engagement. It serves as a framework for in-house logistics managers of aggregates transportation within companies that produce asphalt.Key words- Logistics, third party logistics, reliability engineering, supply chain management.

Globalization, economic volatility and uncertainty have impacted global business markets. This has also had an effect on the logistics and supply chain sector. The third party logistics (3PL) industry is constantly changing due to global industry consolidation, technology integration, industry specialization, and industry alliance networks. The most significant changes have been in areas such as 3PL industry size and make-up, services offered, geographical reach, and the information technology (IT) support provided. Companies can survive in a highly competitive environment by creating competitive advantage. Literature presents three different strategies for creating competitive advantage. These are cost leadership, differentiation and focus. Furthermore, innovations and collaboration between companies can also be strategies for creating competitive advantage. The purpose of this paper is to analyse from the retailers’ perspective, how 3PL providers could meet the customers’ needs better and create competitive advantage in the 3PL market. Furthermore, the purpose of the research is to find out which are, according to the customers’ needs, the best directions that 3PL providers should follow. This research contains both inductive and deductive research approach elements. The empirical data is collected through a survey and interviews. In total 45 retailers took part in the survey. Moreover, five of the survey respondents were selected for additional interviews. The collected data have been analysed by using theories and previous studies in the literature. The main findings from analysing the empirical data and the existing theory are that in order for 3PL providers to create competitive advantage, they should focus on the three elements: selection criteria, incentives and barriers. These influence their relationship with the retailers. 3PL providers should also try to enhance the service quality and satisfaction level in the fields of transportation, warehousing and reverse logistics activities. Most importantly, 3PL providers should provide logistics services and solutions that are in the same level with the retailers’ objectives. Furthermore, 3PL providers can also improve their efficiency and become more competitive by having deeper co-operation with other logistics providers.

Purpose – The purpose of this study is To investigate performance targets within a 3PLcompany and the effect they have on financial and social sustainability. To fulfil the purpose of the study two research questions has been conducted: How does a 3PL-company use performance targets to increase the company’s financial value? How are the employees affected by the present performance targets? Method – To fulfil the purpose of the study a case study has been conducted at a 3PL-company were performance targets to measure individual performance is used. Two methods to collect empirical data were used. These two were interviews and observations. In addition to these two methods, a literature study were conducted. Findings – The study resulted in that the performance targets affected both the companies economic and social sustainability. The performance targets are used to negotiate a sustainable contract with the clients and to contribute with growth to the company and this affects the employees both positive and negative. Implications – The study has contributed to highlight the knowledge gaps that were identified which are that performance targets on an individual level is rather unexplored and also that RBV has not been used in warehouse environment before. The study also contributes to how performance targets affect the employees in a 3PL-company. Limitations – The study that were conducted was a single case study and are therefore not as generalizable as a multiple case study. The interviewees had previous experience from warehouse organizations and therefore did not notice any affects from the performance targets. The study would have been strengthened by having interviewees who does not have previous experience from warehouse organizations who could have a different view on performance targets.
Syfte – Syftet med denna studie är Att undersöka prestationsmål inom ett 3PL-företag och dess påverkan på ekonomisk och social hållbarhet. För att uppfylla studiens syfte har två frågeställningar formulerat: Hur används prestationsmål inom ett 3PL-företag för att öka företagets ekonomiska värde? Hur påverkas de anställda av de nuvarande prestationsmålen? Metod – För att uppfylla studiens syfte har en fallstudie genomförts på ett tredjepartslogistikföretag där de använder prestationsmål för att mäta individers prestation. Två stycken datainsamlingstekniker användes för att samla in empiri till studien, intervjuer och observation. Utöver dessa två datainsamlingstekniker har en litteraturstudie genomförts. Resultat – Studien resulterade i att prestationsmål har en påverkan både på ett företags ekonomiska och sociala hållbarhet. Prestationsmålen används av tredjepartslogistikföretag för att kunna förhandla ett hållbart kontrakt med sina kunder och tillföra tillväxt till företaget och detta påverkar ett företagets anställda både positivt och negativt. Implikationer – Studien har bidragit till att belysa de kunskapsgap som identifierats vilka är att prestationsmål på individnivå är ett relativt outforskat område och att RBV inte har använts inom lagerverksamhet tidigare. och hur prestationsmål påverkar de anställda inom ett 3PLföretag. Begränsningar – Studien som genomfördes var en enfallstudie vilket innebär att studien inte är lika generaliserbar som en flerfallstudie. Intervjuernas respondenter hade erfarenhet inom lagerverksamhet och märkte därför ingen större påverkan av prestationsmålen. Studien hade stärkts av att ha respondenter som inte har erfarenhet inom lagerverksamhet då de kan ha en annan syn på prestationsmål.

Nowadays, three-phase induction motors are widely used on industrial and other types of processes. Therefore, accurate knowledge of an induction motor performance is very essential to have an idea of its operation conditions. This study is a sequel of a previous one, where Direct and Soft starting methods of three-phase motors has been simulated and compared. As in the previous study, the theory behind this one is based on representing the real motor by aset of equations and values in Matlab, forming a corresponding idealistic motor in a way where all the physical effects are similar. The motor is started under three different frequencies in the VVVF method using supporting simulation of the current, torque, speed,efficiency and power factor curves. The results of the three starting methods are then discussed and compared.
Numera är tre-fas asynkronmotorer i stor utsträckning på industriella och andra typer av processer. Därför är det mycket viktigt att ha exakt kunskap om en induktionsmotorprestanda för att ha en uppfattning om dess driftsförhållanden . Denna studie är en fortsättning av en tidigare, där direkt och mjukstart metoder för trefasmotorer har simulerats och jämförts. Såsom i den tidigare studien, är teorin bakom denna en baserat på representerar den verkligamotorn av en uppsättning ekvationer och värden i Matlab, som bildar en motsvarande ideell motor på ett sätt där alla de fysiska effekterna är likartade . Motorn startas under tre olika frekvenser i VVVF metod med stöd simulering av ström, vridmoment, hastighet, effektivitetoch effektfaktorn kurvor. Därefter, resultaten av de tre startmetoder diskuteras och jämföras.

Detta med bakgrunden för de trender som finns inom branschen gällande outsourcing, där företag efterfrågar nya smarta lösningar för deras verksamheter och för att bibehålla och stärka sin konkurrenskraft.  För att undersöka dessa förhållanden har en kvalitativ studie genomförts, där fyra informanter har deltagit i semistrukturerade intervjuer mot frågor som framtagits med grund i de teorier som presenteras. Informanterna som deltagit har bakgrund inom företag som tillhandahåller tjänster inom både 3PL och 4PL. Vad som konstaterats i analysen är hur de olika alternativen skiljer sig, främst i det fysiska resursutnyttjandet, men även de likheter i hur större värden kan ges till kundorganisationer. Av studien så kan ett vidare behov av både forskning och utveckling av tjänsterna ses för differentiera de två alternativen för logistisk outsourcing.
This study seeks to examine the different service offers for logistical outsourcing through 3PL and 4PL suppliers and their role in supply chains. This with the background of the trends within the industry regarding outsourcing, where companies are seeking new and smart solutions for their business, and to maintain and strengthen their competitiveness. To examine these relationships of the suppliers, a qualitative study has been conducted, where four informants have participated in semi structured interviews with questions that have their base in the presented theories. The informants that participated in the study have their background in supplier-companies with services of both 3PL and 4PL solutions. The analysis of the empirical material gathered through the interviews has shown how the solutions differ, primarily in regards to their physical resource utilization, but also the similarities in how greater values can be created for the customer organizations. Through the study the need for both research and development of services can be seen, to be able to differentiate the two alternatives for logistical outsourcing.

This is in order to coordinate and effectively plan the routines and deliveries that occur regularly at the construction site. In an effort of becoming more efficient regarding this matter and to reduce the amount of waste, procurement of a third party logistics company that conducts all necessary logistical activities has become more and more recognized. The purpose of the master thesis is to analyze the procurement of a third party logistics company (3PL) and how it has been handled during a project life cycle and how to optimize this type of solution as a partnership and as a benchmarking method. Finally client perception and satisfaction of the executed work is analyzed, all of which are summarized in the research questions stated below: • How has the collaboration with the procured third party logistics company (3PL) been conducted during the project life cycle? • How is it possible to develop and optimize the collaboration with a 3PL in order to achieve better results in the future as a partnership and a benchmarking method? • What is the client perception and satisfaction of the executed work by the third party logistics company? The theoretical chapter will serve as a foundation of the thesis where the relevant concepts are described complemented with a comparative case study of two projects with relevance to the stated questions. The case study consists of documents and interviews with key participants. The result will show a holistic profitability with additional suggestions to further develop this type of collaboration as a benchmarking method, what is the next reasonable step of further optimization regarding 3PL procurement and what generalizations can be made.

Background: as a convergence of business activities and information technology, e-commerce has brought massive changes to the supply chain management. Today, many e-commerce companies choose to cooperate with third party logistic service providers to perform or improve their logistic services. Meanwhile, those e-commerce companies con-sistently affect the operational processes of their logistic service providers. This thesis fo-cuses on the case of AliExpress, which is an e-commerce company that collaborates with third party logistics in terms of their transportation, warehousing, etc. The collaborations have evolved through time, and developed by three stages, each of which aims at having better logistic performances to generate more profits. Aim and purpose: the aim of this research is to analyse the development of logistic ser-vices for e-commerce by partnering with third party logistic service providers in the setting of international trade. By studying the development, the benefits will be identified. Method: the authors used inductive approach to fulfil the exploratory purposes. In order to gather primary data, the authors applied interviews. Company documents, journal papers, articles and books were collected as secondary data respectively. Result and analysis: the authors obtained empirical findings from three interviews. In the findings, the authors depicted the process of logistic service development and comparisons between logistic service development benefits for e-commerce and sellers have been made. In terms of data analysis, the authors used the theoretical framework in conjunction with the findings to answer the research questions. Conclusion: in the final chapter, the authors answered the research questions based on the analysis. The authors conclude that logistic service development for e-commerce has three stages which are: partner with 3PL, work towards channel collaboration and build an e-fulfilment strategy. The benefits of such development are equitable and shared for both e-commerce company and sellers.

Downstream supply chain is followed by cross-docking shipments. Cost factor is not that much important for companies but the timely delivery is more important.

Tillväxten av transporter och dess tillhörande logistiktjänster har varit ett betydande område som har förenklat leveranser. Vidare medför det flera nackdelar, såsom ökade luftföroreningar, naturskador och klimatförändringar. Många företag väljer att kontraktera en 3PL-leverantör.  Syfte: Studiens syfte är att identifiera och skapa förståelse för hållbara transporter. Avsikten är att titta på vilka faktorer som påverkar kundernas val av 3PL-företag vid köp av hållbara transporter. Dessutom hur ett 3PL-företag kan skapa konkurrensfördelar genom att arbeta med hållbara transporter.  Metod: Studien som genomförts är en kvalitativ studie med inslag av kvantitativa data som till exempel utförda enkätundersökningar och hållbarhetsredovisningar. Den kritiska realismens synsätt och deduktion används som angreppssätt. Slutsats: Resultaten av studien är att kunder till 3PL-företag i nuläget är mest intresserade av de traditionella prestationsfaktorerna vid transportinköp och att miljöfaktorer ofta ses som sekundära, men att mycket tyder på att dessa faktorer kommer få en allt viktigare roll i framtiden. Det upptäcktes många likheter i de tre studerade 3PL-företagens arbete och syn på hållbara transporter samt deras mål och strategi för att bidra till en hållbar utveckling. Det går att se hållbara transporter som en konkurrensfördel för dessa stora globala 3PL-företag, men det är svårt att dra en generell slutsats för alla marknader i nuvarande situation.

This thesis aims to develop a business concept for a practical software tool for increasing sales and promoting customer loyalty by providing IT-based solutions that help customers solve information asymmetry problems in third-party logistics, and to discuss the potential advantages of such a model along with possible approaches for its implementation. Operational data obtained by an Italian intermediary firm providing transport, logistics and inventory management services to businesses was examined in an attempt to obtain an estimate of how likely information asymmetry conditions are to be present on the third-party logistics market in Italy. Several major players and innovative startups in other markets, characterized by their ability to capitalize on existing information asymmetries and providing solutions for reducing them, were studied. Finally, specific steps for implementing an information asymmetry-reducing business model in third-party logistics were considered.

Abstract:
The research question explores the viable options a shipper has in using different logistic solutions. An investigation was conducted by first understanding the different provider levels based on their activities and then differentiate the logistic solutions based on attributes that are important for a shipper in their supply chain. These attributes were; organization, information technology (IT), flexibility and transportation quality aspects. Once the investigation was done, it was applied on a case study at a shipper to help answer the research question. The study confirms previous findings and provides additional evidence that suggests that generally the logistic solutions definition match with the literature. The evidence shows that the third-party logistics providers need to be redefined due to the fact that they are capable of performing other logistic solutions activities within their company groups. Additional evidence from the shippers indicates that two of three that were contacted do not only use one type of logistic solution in their organizations or company groups. These findings suggest several possibilities of action for Shipper A to proceed in undertaking further studies of what the implications are of changing their current setup to another. Also the study confirms that Shipper A with the research question in mind has a viable possibility to insource to a second-party logistics provider from their current third-party logistics provider setup in certain flows. Other viable possibility is to outsource the third-party logistics provider’s activities to a fourth-party logistics provider. Based on confirmations the results have shown, all PLs are viable to use in all the flows except the African customers that are not able to use any form of second-party logistics providers.

Introduction – Supply chains increase in size and complexity, more actors are becoming involved and an increased collaboration among actors are a necessity. Still, undesired conflicts occurs and are unavoidable in a collaboration. There are ways to reduce the negative effects and improve management of conflicts provided by previous researchers focus on conflicts and conflict management in general. However, this thesis emphazises on investigating what conflicts that occur within different collaboration setups that can be attributed to the type of logistics company involved. Therefore, the following purpose is stated: Investigate what types of conflicts occurring during collaboration that can be attributed to the different roles of 3PL and 4PL companies. Methodology – To answer the purpose a single case study was conducted which involved a focal firm and its collaboration with two different logistics companies (a 3PL and a 4PL) within the same economical climate. Due to the uniqeness of the case, a multiple methods qualitative study was performed and to strengthen the validity of the data collected both documantary analysis as well as semi-structured interviews were conducted. Respondents were handpicked based on knowledge of both collaboration setups, to ensure quality of the data collected. Gathered data were sumarized and categorized using Mamad and Chahdi (2013) conflict factors, and later analyzed to accurately detect key points to generate a result and answer the research questions. Result – To summarize the result, findings of what we discovered through our data analysis generated similarites and differences in conflicts occurred within both collaboration setups. These conflicts are linked to Mamad and Chahdi (2013) conflicts factors regarding collaboration among actors, in order to clarify why and which conflict area these conflicts occurred in. Analysis – From the conflicts identified in the result, further analysis were conducted. Where, previous literature regarding logistics companies (3pl and 4PL) were applied in order to enable attribution of conflicts to company types. Conclusion – Through the analysis, many conflicts that occured are based on factors such as operational structure, problem solving and company policies which are not affected by the company type. However, three conflicts and problem areas can be connected to be generally more common either with 3PL companies or 4PL companies. The first lies within the commitment area where 3PL companies can generally be seen as less committed. The second area is communication were important information were more often late due to passing through more actors, causing more conflicts when collaborating with a 4PL. The last problem area were within formalization where findings suggests that there are conflicts caused by 4PLs using several carriers which causes problems such as varying regulations and truck dimensions from carriers.

Background: The discussion regarding value co-creation begins within the field of service marketing, it tells that the value is mutually created in process between the firms and the customers. And that concept has been developed further in many aspects, such as B2B context in which the knowledge intensive industry is involved. Many researchers have argued the importance of value co-creation and emphasized on the need of more studies within business practices. In this study, the particular automotive-3PL relationship would be added in to explore the empirical study of value co-creation. Purpose: The main purpose of the thesis is to study how value co-creation can be managed and achieved from the perspectives of 3PL providers and the users within automotive industry. Method: Through the qualitative research approach, the comprehensive knowledge, which includes the 3PL providers and users’ insights and undertaken behaviours behind the value co-creation is obtained after conducting eight semi-structured interviews in a case study. Conclusion: The results show that the value co-creation is actualized when 3PL providers and automotive users together actively participate in a certain process, in which the offering, interaction and learning are the core activities that should be maintained circularly. Furthermore, the high level of relationship commitment and trust should be sustained between actors.

Vid däcklagret i Norrköping står PostNord för logistikaktiviteter i samband med inleveranser, lagring, förädling och utleveranser åt flera återförsäljare. Personalkostnader är den överlägset största kostnadsposten och därför fokuserar ledningen på produktivitet, exempelvis genom effektivisering och högre precision vid bemanningsplanering. Studiens syfte var därför att utveckla en kostnadsmodell baserat på tidsdriven ABC-kalkylering för den operativa verksamheten i däcklagret, som kan tillämpas för att stödja PostNords arbete med att driva produktivitet. Time-Driven Activity-Based Costing (TDABC) är en metodik för att uppskatta åtgången av resurser som personal och maskiner för olika transaktioner, produkter eller kunder. Genom att modellera aktiviteter i tidsekvationer som bygger på tidsuppskattningar är det möjligt att visa vad som påverkar tidsåtgång. Tidsekvationer för de tre aktiviteterna montering, lossning och inlagring utvecklades. Tillvägagångsättet bestod av avstämningar och bearbetning av data, regressionsanalyser, tidsstudier, intervjuer, observationer samt färdigställande och verifiering av kostnadsmodeller i Excel. De färdiga kostnadsmodellerna uppvisade både rimlighet och lovande precision dag-för-dag. Därefter utvecklades fyra användargränssnitt; what-if analyser för montering, lossning och inlagring samt bemanningsplanering för montering. Via användbarhetstester inspirerade av tänka-högt-metoden visades att verktygen var användbara och att de förväntas kunna stödja arbetet med att driva produktivitet i form av effektivisering och bemanningsplanering. I litteraturen finns ett uttalat behov av vidare studier av metodiken TDABC, inklusive designprocessen för TDABC och specifikt framtagning av tidsuppskattningar för tidsekvationerna. PostNord Logistics TPL AB (PostNord) is one of the largest third-party logistics providers in the Nordics. At the tire warehouse in Norrköping, PostNord performs logistics activities within inbound, storage, production and outbound for several retailers/distributors. Labor is by far the largest cost and hence the management focuses on productivity, for example by efficiency and improving precision in workforce management. The purpose of this study was therefore to develop a cost model based on Time-Driven Activity-Based Costing (TDABC) for the warehouse operations, which can be applied to support PostNord’s efforts to drive productivity. TDABC is a methodology to estimate the consumption of resources such as personnel and equipment caused by different transactions, products or customers. By modelling activities in time equations which are based on time estimates it is possible to show what impacts time consumption (man-hours required). Time equations for the three activities assembly, receiving and putaway were developed. The approach included verifying and processing data, regression analyses, time studies, interviews, observations and finalization and validation of the cost models in Excel. The finalized models proved to be reasonable and to offer promising precision day-to-day. Next, four user interfaces were developed; what-if analyses for assembly, receiving and putaway as well as staff scheduling for assembly. Via usability tests inspired by the think-aloud method it was shown that the applications were usable and expected to support the efforts to drive productivity by efficiency and precision in staffing. In the literature, there is an articulated need for further studies of the TDABC methodology, including the design process for TDABC and specifically the development of time estimates for the time equations. This study contributes to the methodology in the following four ways. 1) An overall method (process) for TDABC which future studies may utilize. 2) Learnings about specific aspects of the overall method regarding interviews, verifying and processing data, as well as the use of regression analysis and time study. 3) Examples of characteristics of the finalized cost models and implications of them. 4) Guidance regarding important choices for the modelling of time equations and implications of them.

As atividades logísticas foram desde sempre dependentes de informação. Esta realidade não mudou. Contudo, acentuou-se ao longo do tempo com a necessidade de informação exata e em tempo real. Para tal, as empresas de atividades logísticas deparam-se com a necessidade de avaliar os seus sistemas de gestão de informação, decidindo estrategicamente os investimentos sobre os mesmos. O presente trabalho de projeto debruça-se sobre a avaliação da adequação de um sistema de gestão de armazenamento às operações. Fá-lo através da adaptação de uma matriz para avaliação da adequação do sistema de gestão de armazenamento aos processos, a qual permite comparar as avaliações atribuídas. Esta matriz é composta por 11 processos, para os quais é avaliada a adequação do sistema atual, e a adequação desejada num horizonte de dois anos. Os dados recolhidos permitiram concluir quais os processos mais críticos em que a empresa terá de investir. Através da combinação dos dados recolhidos, com as sessões de trabalho em grupo e visitas aos armazéns, foi possível identificar diversas falhas extra sistema. O presente trabalho de projeto mostra o exemplo de uma empresa que percecionava deter um sistema mais adequado às suas operações do que o que foi demonstrado no estudo, demonstrando a importância da avaliação dos sistemas de informação.
Logistics activities have always been dependent on information. This reality has not changed. However, it has been accentuated arisen over time with the need for accurate information and in real time. To do this, logistics companies are faced with the need to evaluate their information management systems, making strategic decisions about its investments. This research project focuses on assessing the suitability of a warehouse management system. It does so by adapting a matrix for assessing the adequacy of the warehouse management system to its processes, which allows a comparison with the resulting ratings. This matrix is composed of 11 processes, for which the adequacy of the current system is assessed, as well as the desired adequacy on a two year horizon. The data collected permits to point the most critical processes in which the company will have to invest. By combining the data collected with group work sessions and visits to the warehouses, it was possible to identify several extra system failures. This work shows the example of a company that thought it held a system that was best suited to its operations than the one that was shown in the study, thus demonstrating the importance of evaluating the information systems.

This study explored the relationship between successful guessing and latent ability in IRT models. A new IRT model was developed with a guessing function integrating probability of guessing an item correctly with the examinee's ability and the item parameters. The conventional 3PL IRT model was compared with the new 2PL-Guessing model on parameter estimation using the Monte Carlo method. SAS program was used to implement the data simulation and the maximum likelihood estimation. Compared with the traditional 3PL model, the new model should reflect: a) the maximum probability of guessing should not be more than 0.5, even for the highest ability examinees; b) different ability of examinees should have different probability of successful guessing, because a basic assumption for the new models is that higher ability examinees have a higher probability of successful guessing than lower ability examinees; c) smaller standard error in estimating parameters; and d) faster running time. The results illustrated that the new 2PL-Guessing model was superior to the 3PL model in all four aspects.

Resumo: A farmacodinâmica vascular da síntese endógena de NO ficou conhecida devido ao efeito de drogas nitrovasodilatadoras. Esses agentes exógenos, tais como o nitroprussiato de sódio, agem como doadores de NO e exercem efeito hipotensivo in vivo direto promovendo diminuição na resistência vascular sistêmica decorrente de um aumento nos níveis de GMP cíclico. Nosso interesse reside na possibilidade de complexos de rutênio transnitrosilaminados servirem como veículo para a liberação controlada de NO em sistemas biológicos e, assim, produzir efeitos farmacológicos. O objetivo desse trabalho foi investigar o efeito hipotensor e a toxicidade de um novo complexo de rutênio, o t-[Ru(NH3)4P(OEt)3NO](PF6)3 devido a sua habilidade em liberar NO espontaneamente em solução aquosa. Medidas diretas de PA foram realizadas em ratos Wistar machos adultos cronicamente instrumentados. O efeito hipotensor foi determinado em ratos conscientes (n=10) submetidos a injeções endovenosas "in bolus" de trans-[Ru(NH3)4P(OEt)3NO](PF6)3 e nitroprussiato de sódio (NaNP). Concentrações de 0,0025 a 0,08 µmoles/Kg do complexo de rutênio induziram resposta hipotensora imediata (PAM controle 104 ± 4,1 mmHg) em uma faixa de ação de 7 a 27%, similar ao efeito observado para o NaNP (11a 32%). Uma correlação dose-efeito positiva foi observada. A toxicidade foi avaliada em cultura de células (IC50) e pela toxicidade aguda em camundongos (LD50). Estudos da citotoxicidade foram conduzidos em cultura de hepatócitos (células metabolizantes), V79 (células não metabolizantes) e V79 tratada com o complexo biotransformado pelos hepatócitos. Hepatócitos de rato foram isolados pelo método de perfusão com colagenase em duas etapas do fígado inteiro. A viabilidade celular foi avaliada por três ensaios, os quais são indicativos de citotoxicidade: redução do MTT, incorporação do vermelho neutro (VN) e conteúdo de ácidos nuclêicos (DNA). Esses ensaios permitiram a avaliação dos valores de IC50 para o trans-[Ru(NH3)4P(OEt)3NO](PF6)3 em células V79 e hepatócitos. Na cultura de hepatócitos valores de IC50 superiores a 3,0 mM foram obtidos para todos os ensaios realizados, sugerindo uma baixa toxicidade do complexo. Para cultura de células V79, nossos resultados mostraram efeito citotóxico similar para os três ensaios investigados, com valores de IC50 ao redor de 2,0 mM, mostrando ser este composto menos tóxico que o NaNP (IC50 ~ 0,056 mM). O produto da biorransformação foi avaliado e mostrou baixa toxicidade para os ensaios de DNA, MTT e alta toxicidade para o VN, i.e., o composto biotransformado modificou a integridade lisossomal. A toxicidade aguda foi avaliada e um valor de LD50 igual a 216 mg/Kg foi obtido indicando baixa toxicidade do complexo in vivo.
Abstract: The vascular pharmacology of endogenously synthesised NO is largely predicted by the known effects of nitrovasodilator drugs. These exogenous agents, such as sodium nitroprusside, act as NO donors and exert direct hypotensive effects in vivo promoting a decrease in systemic vascular resistance by increasing levels of cyclic GMP. We have been interested in the possibility that trans-nitrosylammine ruthenium complexes, might serve as vehicles for the controlled delivery of NO into a biological system and thus display useful pharmacological effects, promoting hypotensive effect. The aim of this work was to investigate the hypotensor effect and toxicity of a new ruthenium complex t-[Ru(NH3)4P(OEt)3NO](PF6)3 due to their ability to spontaneously NO release in aqueous solution. Direct measurements of blood pressure were performed in chronically instrumented adult male Wistar rats. The hypotensor effect was determined in conscious rats (n=10) submitted to in bolus intravenous doses of the trans-[Ru(NH3)4P(OEt)3NO](PF6)3 and sodium nitroprusside (NaNP). Concentration range of 0.0025 to 0.08 µmols/Kg induced hypotensive response (MAP control: 104 ±4.1 mmHg) immediately in action range of 7 to 27% similar to that observed for NaNP effect (11 to 32%). A positive dose-effect correlation was observed. The toxicity was evaluated on cell culture (IC50) and by acute dose in mice. Cytotoxicity studies were carried out on cultures of rat hepatocytes (metabolizant cells), V79 (non-metabolizant cells) and V79 treated with the supernatant of the biotransformed complex by hepatocytes. Hepatocytes were isolated from adult male Wistar rats by the two-step collagenase liver perfusion. Cell viability was evaluated by three endpoints which are indicative of cytotoxicity: MTT reduction, Neutral Red Uptake (NRU) and Nucleic Acid Content (DNA). These assays permit the evaluation of IC50 values of trans- [Ru(NH3)4P(OEt)3NO](PF6)3 on V79 and rat hepatocyte cells. On hepatocyte culture values higher than 3.0 mM were determined for all tests, suggesting a low toxicity for the complex. For V79 cultures our results showed a similar cytotoxic effects for the three studied endpoints with an IC50 ranging around 2.0 mM, showing be less toxic than NaNP. The biotransformated product was evaluted and showed low toxicity for DNA, MTT assays and high toxicity for NRU, i.e., the compound biotransformed changed the lysosomal integrity. The acute toxicity was carried out and a LD50 value of 216 mg/Kg was obtained indicating a low toxicity in vivo.

Des etudes cinetiques de reactions mettant en jeu des radicaux libres d'interet atmospherique ont ete effectuees en reacteur a ecoulement rapide couple a l'analyse des especes par spectrometrie de masse (sm) et par fluorescence induite par laser (fil). L'analyse par fil a ete installee et validee par la detection du radical ch#3o et par l'etude cinetique de la reaction de ce radical avec no. Les reactions etudiees (a 298 k) sont: 1 les reactions du radiccal no#3 avec des butadienes (le butadiene-1,3, le methyl-2 butadiene-1,3 ou isoprene et le dimethyl-2,3 butadiene-1,3): la mesure des constantes de vitesse de ces reactions a permis de preciser les durees de vie atmospherique nocture de ces butadienes. Par l'analyse des produits primaires des reactions (par sm), le site d'addition du radical no#3 sur la molecule de butadiene a pu etre specifie. 2 les reactions de no#3 avec les radicaux ch#3o et ch#3o#2 avec suivi de ch#3o par fil: ces deux reactions ont ete trouvees interdependantes, du fait de la regeneration de ch#3o#2 dans la reaction no#3 + ch#3o et de celle de ch#3o dans la reaction no#3 + ch#3o#2. Les constantes de vitesse de ces deux reactions ont ete determinees. Ces resultats, ainsi que ceux de deux autres etudes effectuees simultanement, indiquent que la reaction no#3 + ch#3o#2 peut etre une etape de propagation de chaine importante dans l'oxydation de nuit des composes organiques volatils. 3 les reactions des radicaux cl et clo avec ch#3o et ch#3o#2: l'analyse de cl et clo (par sm), ainsi que celle de ch#3o (par fil), ont permis d'etablir les constantes de vitesse des reactions cl + ch#3o et clo + ch#3o. Les courbes cinetiques observees lors des etudes des reactions de cl et de clo avec ch#3o#2 ont ete simulees. Dans la reaction de cl avec ch#3o#2, le chemin formant le biradical criegee, ch#2o#2, a ete trouve preponderant. Dans la reaction de clo avec ch#3o#2, le rapport de branchement des deux chemins, formant respectivement ch#3o et ch#3ocl, a ete calcule et compare a d'autres resultats recents. Cette reaction entre clo et ch#3o#2 peut jouer un role dans la chimie de la stratosphere polaire dans les conditions d'apparition du trou d'ozone

Bakgrund & Problem: Transport och distribution utgör grundläggande aktiviteter i ett transportföretag, såsom en 3PL-aktörs, verksamhet. I denna verksamhet är tunga transporter vanligt förekommande vilket utgör en betydande del av världens totala koldioxidutsläpp. Samtidigt som bränsleförbrukning står för en stor del av ett åkeris totala kostnader driver det även CO2-utsläpp i en redan, sett ur ett miljömässigt perspektiv, ansträngd värld. Att på sikt reducera dem globala CO2-utsläppen kommer kräva en omställning av transportsektorn och en övergång från fossila bränslen till mer förnyelsebara. För det enskilda åkeriet kan minskad bränsleförbrukning sänka kostnaderna samtidigt som det är fördelaktigt för miljön då det leder till minskade CO2-utsläpp. Vad driver då bränsleförbrukningen i ett åkeri? I denna studie ligger fokus främst på sparsam körning, transportplanering och teknologi som de faktorer som påverkar bränsleförbrukningen. I sammanhanget är även val av bränsle relevant men denna faktor har analyserats separat då det snarare är en faktor som driver CO2-utsläpp än bränsleförbrukningen i sig. Syfte: Syftet med denna studie är att studera ett urval av transportföretaget GDL:s åkerier och dess verksamhet med primärt fokus på bränsleförbrukning och CO2-utsläpp. Ambitionen vid arbetets slut är att kunna betygsätta åkeriernas verksamhet med utgångspunkt i deras bränsleförbrukning och de faktorer som driver den. Studien syftar även till att klargöra maktförhållandet mellan uppdragsgivare, som GDL, och åkerier. Metod: Studien tillämpar ett positivistiskt vetenskapligt synsätt med abduktion som angreppssätt. Baserat på de frågeställningar som studeras i detta arbete har en kvalitativ forskningsmetod applicerats överlag med små inslag av kvantitativa aspekter. Slutsats: De faktorer som huvudsakligen driver bränsleförbrukning är sparsam körning, transportplanering och teknologi. Sparsam körning är den faktor som denna studie bedömer ha störst påverkan och en fullständig implementering kan resultera i en bränslereduktion på 10-30 5(95) procent. Förutom mängden bränsle som förbrukas har även val av bränsle möjligheten att påverka företag positivt, främst miljömässigt men även ekonomiskt, där alternativa bränslen är huvudsakligt fokus. I denna studie hanteras bränslen som är förekommande inom studiens åkerier och bland dessa har HVO klart lägst CO2-utsläpp. Inflytandet från större aktörer, som GDL, är i nuläget svårt att precisera och varierar mellan åkerier. GDL:s position på marknaden borde, om så önskas, möjliggöra att ett större inflytande utövas gentemot de mindre aktörer som till stor del kör åt GDL.
Background & Problem: Transportation and distribution, such as 3PL, pose an essential part of a logistics company’s scope of duties; especially heavy transports, which account for a big part of the worldwide CO2-emissions, are an essential part of the business. Whilst fuel consumption makes up the majority of a company’s total consecutive expenses, it also augments carbon dioxide emission in our already flawed world. Therefore, the aim in the long run is a readjustment in the transport sector which includes the transition from fossil fuels towards renewable energy sources as well as the reduction of fuel consumption in general. This is also in the interest of the distribution companies, as they thereby can save expenses and reduce their ecological footprint at the same time. Yet, what determines the fuel consumption of a distribution company? To decry that, this study will primarily focus on eco-driving, route planning as well as technology as the main drivers of fuel consumption. It hereby is necessary to consider the chosen kind of fuel as an important factor regarding the CO2-emissions; this, however, will be analyzed separately. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to study a selection distribution companies that primarily work on behalf of GDL, to examine which factors drive fuel consumption and CO2 emissions 6(95) within these companies. This papers ambition is to fairly evaluate the distribution companies and grade them accordingly, based on factors that drive fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Additionally, this paper also aims to clarify the power structure between outsourcers, such as GDL, and their distributors. Method: This paper applies a positivistic scientific view with abduction as an approach. Based on this papers research questions it was determined that a qualitative research method should be applied throughout the study, with minor quantitative elements. Conclusions: The main factors for fuel consumption are parsimonious driving, route planning as well as technology. Hereby, frugal driving was ranked as the most important one as it can lead to a saving of 10-30 percent. Furthermore, the amount of used fuel can be positively influenced through the choice of certain fuel types. This has economical as well as ecological effects; the study focusses on renewable fuels, such as HVO, which has by far the lowest CO2- emissions amongst the fuels that were drawn into consideration. Influence by bigger actors, such as GDL, makes it hard to determine between different companies’ standings, as GDL’s position directly influences their smaller distributers.

El presente trabajo se enmarca dentro de la continua mutabilidad que presenta el Derecho del Trabajo, el que a través de sus diversas instituciones, va reflejando los constantes cambios que se van produciendo en nuestra vida social y económica. Nuestra legislación laboral ha debido ir adaptándose en su contenido a los nuevos requerimientos del sector productivo. La demanda por una mayor flexibilidad en la normativa sustantiva que regula las relaciones laborales se ha hecho cada vez más frecuente; y permanece vigente en nuestra comunidad nacional y jurídica la reflexión acerca de la conveniencia de introducir nuevas modificaciones a la legislación laboral. Centramos nuestro análisis sobre la flexibilidad en la jornada de trabajo y, particularmente, en el sistema excepcional establecido en el artículo 38 incisos penúltimo y final. Revisaremos la normativa sustantiva que la regula, lo dispuesto por la Dirección del Trabajo a través de sus órdenes de servicio o sus dictámenes y los Tribunales de Justicia, fallando una serie de recursos de protección. Esto, sin dejar de lado la doctrina nacional e internacional y las distintas realidades en el derecho comparado. El resultado de este trabajo, invita a reestudiar la normatividad existente incorporando la autonomía colectiva como fuente de flexibilización. La imposición heterónoma del Estado puede ceder paso, en el ámbito de las relaciones laborales, al reconocimiento de la empresa como fuente, y no solo objeto, de derecho. Tal descentralización de las fuentes del derecho del trabajo encuentra su fundamento en las necesidades productivas de las empresas y en que la actual identidad societal del trabajador se da a nivel de la empresa, como unidad de recepción y procesamiento de sus aspiraciones sociales. Todo esto, encontrando como límite el orden público laboral, aquél núcleo duro normativo insustituible en función de la seguridad y salud de los trabajadores.

L'essentiel de ce travail concerne l'etude du melange kr-xe excite par absorption multiphotonique. L'excitation initiale porte sur l'etat kr#21u(#3p#1). Sa dissociation rapide conduit a la creation de l'etat atomique resonnant kr(#3p#1). L'analyse temporelle de la luminescence filtree a 128 nm et 145 nm dans le krypton pur et dans les melanges kr-xe permet de comprendre les processus de transfert d'energie du krypton vers le xenon dans ces conditions d'excitation. L'analyse des spectres d'ionisation et d'excitation dans les melanges kr-xe permet de se placer dans les meilleures conditions d'excitation de l'etat kr#21u(#3p#1), tout en minimisant les possibilites d'ionisation du melange lors de l'etude temporelle. Les spectres d'excitation montrent que l'excitation du melange kr-xe peut etre du type atomique ou moleculaire. Tout comme dans les gaz purs, la generation de l'harmonique trois du faisceau laser provoque, dans le cas de l'excitation de l'etat kr#21u(#3p#1), un decalage des spectres vers les courtes longueurs d'onde des que la pression partielle de krypton augmente. L'analyse temporelle sur le premier continuum du krypton dans le melange kr-xe, a faibles pressions partielles de krypton et de xenon, a montre l'efficacite du transfert depuis l'etat kr(#3p#1) du krypton vers les etats excites du xenon. La constante de transfert par collisions binaires heteronucleaires est egale a 6,78. 10#5 torr#-#1. S#-#1. L'analyse temporelle de la luminescence filtree a 145 nm indique sans ambiguite qu'il s'agit de l'emission du premier continuum du xenon. Ce fait est atteste par l'analyse des spectres d'emission. Les deux constantes de temps determinees traduisent respectivement la disparition collisionnelle de l'etat xe(#3p#2) par collisions binaires et ternaires et la disparition de l'etat xe(5d7/2#j#=#3). Les constantes de temps ont ete deduites des histogrammes experimentaux enregistres avec une resolution de 5 ns, par une nouvelle methode d'exploitation basee sur une loi statistique de poisson tenant compte des faibles taux de comptage

Nous avons aborde dans un premier temps quelques problemes relatifs a la croissance des monocristaux par methode de flux. Les temperatures critiques des echantillons sont fortement affectees en raison de la contamination par les impuretes provenant des creusets et des produits de depart utilises. Avec les creusets d'alumine ou alumine + or, on obtient des monocristaux de taille convenable. Par contre, la croissance dans un creuset de platine s'est averee delicate et ne permet pas d'obtenir des monocristaux ybco supraconducteurs. Par la suite, nous avons utilise la technique de mesure de couple et des mesures d'aimantation par un squid pour etudier les poudres orientees yba#2(cu#1#-#xfe#x)#3o#7#-# (x 0. 2). Nous avons montre que la substitution du cuivre par le fer dans yba#2cu#3o#7#-# s'accompagne de changements notables de la longueur d'ecrantage dans ce materiau, ainsi que de sa capacite a ancrer les lignes de flux. Nous avons mis en evidence que les changements induits dans la microstructure cristalline par la substitution permettent d'expliquer ces modifications, en considerant que la structure dite de tweed constitue un reseau dense sur lequel la supraconductivite est localement affaiblie. La sensibilite a des defauts de petite taille constitue, a notre avis, une propriete assez generale des oxydes supraconducteurs. En effet la petitesse de leur longueur de coherence les rend particulierement sensibles a des distorsions locales de leur structure. En ce sens, l'homogeneite des proprietes supraconductrices de tels materiaux doit etre consideree soigneusement, particulierement dans le cas de l'introduction des impuretes

Darbo tikslas: atlikus mokslinės literatūros analizę, logistikos aspektu, bei išanalizavus trečiųjų šalių logistikos paslaugų teikimo rinką Lietuvoje, atskleisti 3PL logistikos paslaugų naudojimosi perspektyvas. Darbo uždaviniai: atlikti skirtingų autorių, mokslinės literatūros, analizę logistikos paslaugų teikimo klausimu, išsiaiškinti trečiųjų šalių logistikos organizavimo principus, išanalizuoti didžiausias trečiųjų šalių logistikos įmones Lietuvoje, paaiškinti atlikto tyrimo eigą ir metodus, kuriais buvo renkami tyrimui reikalingi duomenys ir išaiškinti trečiųjų šalių logistikos paslaugų vystymosi perspektyvas. Magistrinį darbą sudaro įvadas, teorinė dalis, praktinė, tiriamoji dalis bei išvados ir pasiūlymai. terorinėje dalyje atliekama analizė apie logistikos paslaugas, bei 3PL paslaugas. Praktinėje dalyje palyginamos didžiausios 3PL paslaugų įmonės Lietuvoje. Tiriamojoje dalyje analizuojamas 3PL paslaugų naudojimas Lietuvoje. Išvadose patvirtinama iškelta hipotezė, kad 3PL paslaugos Lietuvoje nėra populiarios.
SUMMARY This Master‘s Thesis deals with logistics services and Third Party logistics partners, these services organization and performance. The aim of this Master Thesis is to analyse logistics services, Third Party logistics management and performance in Lithuania, to do the research in order to find out whether the Third Party logistics is sufficiently using or using at all in Lithuania. The tasks of this paper are as follows: to analyse the scientific literature on logistics services, also to identify Third Party logistics planning rules, to analyze the biggest Third Party logistics companies in Lithuania, to explain the research process and methods, to do the research, identifying whether the Third Party logistics sufficiently are using. and with reference to the literature analysed and the results received to present conclusions and recommendations. This Master‘s Thesis consists of introduction, theoretical part, practical part, research part, conclusions and suggestions. The theoretical parts deals with the analysis of logistics and 3PL logistics services. The practical part includes the analyzing the biggest 3PL providers in Lithuania. The research part is important to analyze the using of Third Party logistics in Lithuania. Conclusions confirm the hypothesis, i.e., The Third Party logistics is not popular in Lithuania.

Bakgrund: Aktörer som utför logistiktjänster har fått en avgörande roll för den framtida utvecklingen av hållbar logistik. Den sociala dimensionen är i dagsläget relativt outforskad jämfört med den ekonomiska och ekologiska dimensionen trots att teorier hävdar att alla tre dimensioner är lika viktiga. De standarder som finns för ansvarstagande inom social hållbarhet finns inte som krav utan ses som en frivillig ansats för företaget. Det har tillkommit ett ökat intresse om social hållbarhet hos intressenter vilket gör det mer angeläget för företagen att visa hur de tar ansvar för den sociala hållbarheten. Social hållbarhet har även hamnat högt upp på politiska agendor: Ett nationellt lagförslag har tillkommit om att alla större företag måste införa en redovisning som presenterar icke-finansiell information om hur de arbetar med hållbarhet. Syfte: Studiens syfte är att jämföra hur 3PL leverantörer tillämpar social hållbarhet i tjänstekonceptet för att vidare analysera hur social hållbarhet kan vidareutvecklas utifrån ramverk. Metod: Denna studie har en kvalitativ forskningsmetod med en deduktiv ansats. Studien har ett positivitiskt synsätt och en tvärsnittsdesign. I studien kommer det att genomföras en mönsterjämförelse mellan sju 3PL leverantörer: DSV, DB Schenker, Alwex, Deutsche Post DHL Group, PostNord, Bring Citymail och Alltransport. Slutsats: De sju granskade hållbarhetsredovisningarna innefattar alla ett väldigt varierande innehåll och tillvägagångsätt. Författarna menar att företagen bör förtydliga utförligt hur de faktiskt arbetar med de sociala aspekterna. Viktiga åtgärder att införa skulle vara kontinuerliga leverantörsutvärderingar samt klagomål- och rapporteringsfunktion för att förebygga att felaktigheter inträffar i företagets tjänstekoncept. Vidare bör företagen använda sig av fler ramverk såsom UN Global Compact, SA8000, ISO26000, OHSAS 18001, ISO 39001 för att säkerhetsställa att arbetet med mänskliga rättigheter, arbetsförhållanden, samhällsansvar och produktansvar efterlevs på rätt sätt. Dessutom bör företagen se över hur de använder sig av GRI:s riktlinjer och om de kan utvidga användandet av detta.
