Olen tutkinut pro gradu -työssäni suomalaista kreationismia helluntaiseurakunnan piirissä vuosina 1987‒1988. Tuolloin helluntaiseurakunnan piiristä virisi kansalaisadressi, jolla pyrittiin saamaan kreationismi kouluopetukseen evoluutioteorian rinnalle. Adressia kerättiin reilu vuosi, sen allekirjoitti 14 310 henkilöä, ja se palautettiin silloiselle kouluhallitukselle 18.8.1988. Kouluhallitus otti adressin vastaan, mutta se ei johtanut jatkotoimenpiteisiin.
Päälähteinä työssä ovat helluntaiherätyksen pää-äänenkannattaja Ristin Voitto ja yleiskristillinen Kotimaa. Molemmat ovat viikkolehtiä. Lähdeaineistoa täydentää muun muassa liikkeen johtohahmoihin kuuluneen Seppo Pehkosen sähköpostihaastattelu sekä katsaus Helsingin Sanomien kirjoitteluun aiheen tiimoilta.
Työssäni tutkin adressin keruuta tapaustutkimuksellisella otteella ja pyrin selvittämään, millaisia muotoja suomalainen kreationismi tapauksen aikana sai. Tarkemmassa analyysissä hyödynnän argumentaatioanalyysin keinoja. Työssä käydään siis sama aineisto läpi kahta eri metodia käyttäen.
Työni perusteella suomalainen kreationismi on paljon velkaa yhdysvaltalaiselle kreationismille. Esitetyt argumentit noudattavat tieteellisen kreationismin kaanonia ja lähes kaikki käytetyt argumentit ovat johdettavissa yhdysvaltalaisiin alkulähteisiin. Tällaisia auktoreja ovat muun muassa Henry M. Morris ja Duane Gish.
Käydyssä keskustelussa on myös muita samantapaisia piirteitä Yhdysvaltojen kreationististen liikkeiden kanssa. Kyse näyttää olleen enemmänkin maailmankatsomuksellisista eroista kuin tieteellisestä kiistasta. Helluntailaiset puolustivat omaa fundamentalistista raamatuntulkintaansa. Evoluutioteoria näyttäytyi heille uhkana oman kulttuurin symboleja vastaan. Luterilaiset taas puolustautuivat fundamentalismia vastaan, jonka he eivät nähneet kuuluvan Suomen kristilliseen perinteeseen.
Jatkotutkimuksen kannalta syventyminen vanhempaan suomalaiseen kreationismiin, kuten Uuras Saarnivaaran tai Wiljam Aittalan ajatteluun, auttaisi ymmärtämään suomalaista kreationismia. Myös 1980-luvun alussa Suomessa käydyn kreationistisen keskustelun avaaminen antaisi tälle tutkimukselle tapaustutkimuksellisen vastinparin.

Research has shown that the presence of ice-nucleation-active (INA) bacteria, such as Pseudomonas syringae and Erwinia herbicola, will result in ice formation several degrees centigrade higher than would otherwise occur. Seven possible chemical frost protectants were applied to Lisbon lemons of the Yuma Mesa Ag Center. Four replications of effectiveness of the materials were evaluated by determining tip bum and fruit damage following two subfreezing episodes in December 1987. There were no statistically significant differences between treatments under the conditions of this study.

Jean Degottex, né en 1918 et décédé en 1988, est un peintre qui a exercé des années 1938 jusqu'à sa mort, soit pendant cinquante ans. Se tournant assez tôt dans sa pratique vers une peinture gestuelle, il est vite remarqué pour cela par André Breton qui y voit la mise en pratique de l'automatisme qu'il recherchait dans l'écriture. Il n'a cependant jamais adhéré au surréalisme tout en étant sensible à certains de ses aspects. La poésie en particulier est une de ses sources d'inspiration majeure. Curieux de l'Orient et de ses calligraphies, il montre un intérêt plus particulier pour l'Asie. Après une rupture importante au milieu des années 60, il reprend son travail en se focalisant tour à tour sur le cercle, la déchirure ou encore la ligne afin de mettre en évidence les caractéristiques plastiques de la matière : la toile, le papier, le bois sont ainsi ouverts, écorchés, disséqués et montrés tels quels, afin de ne rien cacher des processus à l’œuvre dans le travail du peintre. Sensible aux climats sociaux de son temps, la peinture est pour lui une façon de militer. A partir de la biographie du peintre, basée sur ses propres archives, ce travail met en évidence ses contacts, ses réseaux et sa place en France et dans le Monde. L'analyse s'arrête sur ses outils et ses méthodes de travail et montre également l'importance du temps et de la chronologie car elle éclaire la logique interne à l’œuvre, permettant de passer d’une pièce ou d'une série (appelée Suite chez Degottex) à la suivanteJean Degottex, was born in 1918 and died in 1988. He worked from 1938 to his death, during fifty years. Early using gestural painting, he is recognized by André Breton for that, who is seeing in this manner the perfect automatism in painting, the same automatism he was seeking in writing. Degottex never subscribed to Surrealism, but he was receptive to some of its aspects. Poesy is one of his major sources of inspiration. Interested in East and its calligraphies, he showed a special interest for Asia. After an important break in his work in the middle of the Sixties, he went back to his work by making a focus on the circle, the rip or the line, with the will to show all the plastic characteritics of the material. Canvas, paper or wood are opened, skinned, dissected and shown as is, with the desire to hide nothing of the processes at work in the painter's work. Sensitive to the social climate of his time, painting was for him a way to militate. From his biography, based on his own archives, this work highlights his contacts, his networks and his place in France and in the World. The analysis put an emphasis on his tools and working methods, and also shows the importance of time and chronology, as it sheds light on the painter's work internal logic, moving from a piece or a series (called Suites by Degottex) to the next one

Magistro darbo tikslas – ištirti Sovietų Lietuvos ekonominio savarankiškumo idėjų raidą 1988-1989 metais. Darbo tikslui pasiekti buvo sprendžiami šie uždaviniai: 1.Atskleisti XX a. 9 dešimtmečio pabaigoje vykusias diskusijas dėl Lietuvos kaip Sovietų Sąjungos išlaikytinės statuso. 2.Pristatyti Lietuvos ekonominio savarankiškumo koncepciją ir išanalizuoti jos įgyvendinimą.3.Išnagrinėti savų pinigų idėjas bei pristatyti Lietuvos pinigų ir kredito sistemos koncepciją. Atliekant tyrimą bei atsakant į išsikeltus klausimus, prieita prie šių išvadų: 1.Lietuvos ūkis per visą sovietinės okupacijos laikotarpį buvo nuosekliai integruotas į Sovietų Sąjungos ūkį. Centralizuota ūkio valdymo – planavimo, aprūpinimo materialiniais ištekliais, produkcijos realizavimo, bankų ir finansų – sistema jokio savarankiškumo atskiriems SSRS regionams neleido, todėl ir Lietuvoje ūkinis gyvenimas buvo iš esmės toks pats kaip ir visoje Sovietų Sąjungoje. 2.„Perestroikos“ autorių pabrėžiama ūkiskaitos sąvoka leido Lietuvos ekonomistams kalbėti ne tik apie įmonės, bet ir apie visos respublikos ūkiskaitą. Susikūrus Lietuvos persitvarkymo sąjūdžiui, buvo pradėta naudoti ir respublikos ekonominio savarankiškumo sąvoka, kuria buvo nusakomi kokybiškai kitokie santykiai su centrine sovietų valdžia. 3.Diskusijose apie respublikos ūkiskaitą ir ekonominį savarankiškumą mūsų ekonomistai argumentuotai paneigė centrinės sovietų valdžios teiginius, kad Lietuvos išlaidos viršija jos pajamas, t.y. kad Lietuva yra Sovietų... [toliau žr. visą tekstą]I have chosen the subject “Ideas of Economic Independence in Soviet Lithuania in 1988-1989”, because it is not widely investigated in Lithuanian historiography. Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic was established after Soviet Occupation of Lithuania in 1940 and existed to 1990. The Lithuanian SSR was renamed the Republic of Lithuania again on March 11, 1990, all legal ties of sovereignty were cut with the Soviet Union as Lithuania declared the restitution of its independence. But its way to independence was long and not easy. The last five years of occupation beginning in 1985, when Mikhail Gorbachev made significant changes in the economy were perestroika and glasnost. His policy of glasnost gave some freedom for media and hope for occupied nations. The objective of master thesis is to investigate process and development of ideas of economic independence in Soviet Lithuania (1988-1989). To obtain the objective I made three tasks: 1) to review Soviet Lithuanian economy in the end on 1980s and to show discussions about Lithuanian SSR as dependant republic of Soviet Union; 2) to introduce “Lithuania’s economic independence conception” and to analyze its implementation; 3) to review ideas about its own currency and to introduce Lithuania’s system of money and credit conception. Good health is not evenly shared by New Zealanders. Numerous studies have shown that different sectors of the New Zealand population have different health outcomes. For example, Maori have higher mortality and morbidity rates than non-Maori (Pomare 1995, Durie 1985). For much of this century the way to improve the health of the population was believed to lie in improving public health, hygiene and sanitation, extending the scope, availability and access to medical care, and continuing the advances in medical knowledge and technology which characterised the achievements of the previous century. Such achievements were documented as lower occurences of epidemic and infectious diseases, falling death rates and improvement in life expectancy. Recent literature, both in New Zealand and overseas, conclude that socio-economic status is one of the most important health determinants. Further still, the literature tells us that hospital admissions are related to an individual’s socio-economic status. Were the literature falls short is in documenting the changes in patterns of hospital admissions through the last 15 years a time of major political upheaval and economic restructuring. Thus using Christchurch as a case study, this thesis examines in detail the link between deprivation and changes in the pattern of hospital admissions throughout the 1990's.
We found that the NZDep deprivation dataset is an excellent proxy for health status in most instances. We also found that admissions had increased, especially in the lower socio-economic groups. More importantly, the socio-economic gradient had increased leading us to conclude that the increase in deprivation has been reflected by a increase in hospital admissions.

This thesis is devoted to analyzing the political transition that Mexico experienced from 1968 to 1988, through three sources of information; historical documents, economic and demographic statistics and public opinion. The first part of the work examines four particularly relevant historical processes concerning the relationship between State and society that can be identified by very precise symbolic events defined here as crisis: 1) the October 2, 1968, massacre that culminated the student uprising; 2) the August 31, 1976, peso devaluation that marked the climax of the confrontation between the Echeverrista government and the domestic business class; 3) the September 1, 1982, bank nationalization that symbolized the excesses of the oil boom and foreign indebtedness; 4) the October, 1987, stock market crash that ended unrealistic market euphoria of political origin. The second part of the thesis seeks to quantitatively outline these historical processes and establish a basis for comparing them one with another. To this end, several statistical series from 1940 to 1987 are used to measure the social, economic and political behavior of the period with the purpose of clarifying the relationship between the qualitative historical facts and the quantitative statistical figures. The third part is dedicated to examining the opinions of individuals or, more precisely, the different perceptions that for different reasons Mexicans held about the same events and circumstances, as well as the effect that such a heterogeneous mix of opinion can have on a nation's ability to persevere in the face of the four crises of the last 20 years.

Cette etude a pour sujet l'image de la france aux etats-unis de 1981-1988. Nos sources principales sont les articles tires de journaux et de magazines americains. Le choix de ces publications s'est fait en fonction du tirage, de la geographie et de leur opinion politique. Nous avons egalement utilise les ouvrages des acteurs americains: le president ronald reagan, ses deux secretaires d'etat et des journalistes. Nous avons egalement consulte les publications du congres americain et les rares sondages effectues aupres de la population americaine sur des sujets se rapportant a la france. Notre etude est organisee selon un decoupage chronologique : le gouvernement de l'union de la gauche, le gouvernement de laurent fabius et le gouvernement de cohabitation. Nous avons constate une amelioration constante de l'image de la france. Cela commence par la surprise et l'apprehension au moment de l'election de francois mitterrand. La presence de ministres communistes dans le gouvernement semble confirmer des craintes des americains. La politique economique mise en place par les nouveaux dirigeants est largement critiquee par l'ensemble de la presse americaine. Quand en 1983, les socialistes changent de politique, les americains saluent leur decision. Puis, a partir de 1984, avec la visite officielle de francois mitterrand aux etats-unis, la france est consideree comme le meilleur allie des etats-unis. Seuls les problemes en nouvelle caledonie et l'affaire greenpeace nuancent cette bonne image. La periode de la cohabitation interesse beaucoup. Les americains sont surpris de constater que ce partage du pouvoir est possible. Finalement, leur bilan des annees mitterrand est tres positif.

De nombreux exegetes analysent la periode conciliaire comme le moment d'une reconciliation de l'eglise catholique avec la modernite. Cette etude, fondee sur une analyse des textes produits par le vatican entre 1958 et 1988, veut inviter a plus de circonspection : elle cherche a montrer que le schema "integraliste", mis en place par leon 13 a la fin du 19eme siecle perdure meme apres l'aggiornamento. 1) d'abord, comme sa devanciere, l'eglise conciliaire developpe une critique radicale de la societe moderne. Quelques protestants français introduisent le renouveau charismatique en France en 1971. Le mouvement touche des pentecôtistes, réformés, baptistes, luthériens, "indépendants" et aussi des catholiques. Par conséquent, sa dimension œcuménique prend une certaine ampleur. Mais le dépassement des protestants par les catholiques en nombre et organisation suscite un déclin de l'œcuménisme et le renforcement des caractéristiques protestantes à partir de 1974. Le mouvement se stabilise pendant les années 1980. Il compte environ 12 000 personnes en 1988 et un certain nombre d'églises sont de tendance charismatique. Aucune structure formelle n'assure la coordination générale des divers courants qui se développement séparément. Bien que marginal en apparence, le renouveau charismatique protestant a son importance, apportant un certain renouveau au protestantisme françaisSome French protestants introduce the charismatic renewal in France in 1971. The movement touches Pentecostals, Reformed, Baptists, Lutherans, free churches and also Catholics. Consequently, its ecumenical dimension appears dominant at the time. The paper takes an eclectic approach to the issue because the trends within different industrial sectors varied widely, from strong growth in forestry investment and trade to slow expansions of technological ties. Detection of 'anomalies', empirical regularities that are inexplicable within a preeminent or accepted paradigm, is a key aspect of the operation of scientific endeavour. The dominant theories of financial economics, those deriving from the CAPM/APT literature, hold that there should not exist persistent differences in the returns to assets across calendar frequencies. An extensive review of the literature reveals that in a wide variety of assets and markets there is evidence that returns differ according to the calendar frequency, in particular across days of the week and months of the year and around recurrent holidays. However, this review also reveals considerable room for increased methodological and statistical sophistication. In particular, the nature and extent of the data indicate that techniques based on robust regression, non-parametric statistics and Bayesian inference are more appropriate than the predominantly OLS based approaches displayed in the literature. Papers that adopt these more sophisticated approaches generally find much weaker evidence for such calendar anomalies. In essence, the Irish Stock Exchange operated free from exchange controls and in a broadly homogenous monetary and economic environment from 1988 to 1998. Daily returns from 1988 to 1998, on official equity indices, and from 1993 to 1998 on equal and value weighted equity indices, are examined. The evidence is that even when more sophisticated and appropriate techniques are used there is still some evidence for a daily pattern in the returns to these indices. However this pattern is dissimilar to that found elsewhere, consisting of a midweek positive peak as opposed to the more commonly found low returns at the start of the week and higher returns on Friday. This pattern is not a function of the settlement system, does not appear to be related to the pattern of either microeconomic (firm-specific) or macroeconomic information releases, nor does it appear to be a function of endogenous news generation. Previous international research indicates a January peak in returns, while previous research on the Irish market had also found an April peak. While the investigation here of the monthly pattern of returns confirms, in a statistically and methodologically robust manner, the January peak no evidence is found of an April peak. Examination of the return pattern around exchange holidays indicates that, in common with other markets referenced in the literature, there is a rise in returns before a holiday. However, on decomposition into local and international components we find that although the local effect is strong this effect is negative, which is a major point of departure from previous research findings.

This study examines the relationship between Islam and political culture in Pakistan in the four decades following its naissance. It assesses the validity of the argument that a polarity has emerged in the Pakistani political culture, consisting of Islamism and Islamic modernism. In the case of Pakistan, Islamism refers to the use of the primary sources of Islam law, the Qur'an, hadith, and sunnah, in crafting both policy and political institutions. Islamic modernism refers to the systematized use of these primary sources as well as other (external) sources, adjusted for contemporary circumstances. These ideologies, as defined here, are gleaned from the discourse of a Pakistani ideologues, Sayyid Abu'l A 'la Mawdudi and Fazlur Rahman. It examines the thought of Mawdudi and Rahman as the discursive backdrop to the polarity of political culture. It then provides analysis of three regimes which exacerbate this polarity. They include the Islamic modernist regime of Ayub Khan, from 1958 to 1969, the quasi-Islamist regime of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, from 1971 to 1977, and finally the Islamist regime of General Zia ul-Haq, from 1977 to 1988.

Mestrado em FinançasEsta dissertação pretende verificar quais as variáveis que influenciam nas decisões relacionadas com a estrutura de capital. O objectivo deste trabalho é estudar um período de 5 anos em Portugal – 1984 a 1988, para 50 grandes empresas portuguesas. As variáveis selecionadas são baseadas em estudos anteriores neste tema: tamanho, rendibilidade, nível de crescimento, estrutura do activo, vantagens fiscais e risco de negócio. Os resultados empíricos mostraram uma significância estatística positiva entre a estrutura do activo e o nível de endividamento. Por outro lado, a dimensão mostrou uma significância estatisticamente negativa com o nível de endividamento. Em relação às outras variáveis selecionadas, os resultados não indicaram nenhuma influência com as decisões na estrutura de capital.
This dissertation aims to verify what variables influence the decisions in the capital structure. The objective is to study a gap in a 5-year period in Portugal – 1984 to 1988. This study uses the financial reports of 50 large Portuguese manufacturing firms during this period. The variables were selected based on previous research in this area: size, profitability, level of growth, asset structure, fiscal advantages and business risk. The empirical results showed a statistically positive significant relationship between the asset structure and leverage. On the other hand, size had a statistically negative significant relationship with leverage. All the other variables showed insignificant relationship in the debt level in a firm.

Avant son arrivée au pouvoir en 1981, François Mitterrand a derrière lui une expérience politique assez longue, plus de 30 ans de vie politique. Pendant la IVe république, il a été ministre dans le gouvernement de Guy Mollet. Ses positions vis-à-vis des arabes surtout pendant la guerre d'Algérie et l'expédition du Suez, ainsi que ses critiques à l'égard de la politique arabe de ses prédécesseurs, ne pouvaient qu'inquiéter les arabes qui craignaient un changement profond de la politique de la France surtout à l'égard de leur conflit avec Israël. Après sept ans de pouvoir 1981-1988, l'expérience a montré que la continuité est plus présente dans la politique arabe de la France que le changement. Les sentiments pro-israéliens du président français n'ont pas suffi à eux seuls de réaliser les promesses du rééquilibrage promises par lui. Raison d'état oblige, F. Mitterrand était obligé de prendre en compte une complexité de facteurs et de contraintes qui ont fait que le changement reste apparent et le rôle que la France peut jouer reste secondaireBefore coming to power, François Mitterrand had behind him a long political experience, about 30 years of political life. Between 1956 and 1958, he was a minister in Guy Mollet's socialist government. His attitude towards the Arab world, especially as regards the Algerian war and the expedition of Suez prove to the Arabs that his accession to the presidency could have nothing but negative effects. His criticism of these predecessors and their policies towards the Arab community corroborates the previous point. His point is that the three previous presidents of the 5th republic, haven’t carried out a fair policy when, among other things, dealing with the arab-israeli conflict. He’s intended to be a bit more balanced in his policies as regards this issue. His coming to power in 1981 has caused fear and negative reactions in the Arab world. At the end of his first term as president of the republic, we could note that the continuity of the French policy towards the Arab world rather than the change. The existence of some internal and external factors has contributed in the president inability to carry out these previous intentions in the Middle East and the Arab world

Resumo: A problemática abordada nesta pesquisa retoma - uma vez mais - o debate sobre a relação entre Estado, sociedade e educação e o interesse em profundar o estudo das determinações sociais no processo de formulação e implementação de políticas educacionais, presente nas últimas décadas entre políticos e acadêmicos. Nesta oportunidade, nossa proposta é analisar o comportamento dos docentes organizados no espectro mais amplo da dinâmica social que definiu o cenário de constituição da política educacional na Argentina, durante o período de 1983 a 1988. Um dos setores-chave do fazer educativo é, obviamente, os docentes. Suas organizações atuam como canal de expressão nas diferentes instâncias do Estado e dentro da própria categoria, tanto sobre questões trabalhistas como sobre questões vinculadas diretamente à política educacional. o período 1983-88 é especialmente significativo para a Argentina, porque teve início um processo de transição para a democracia e um momento de redefinição do possível para a sociedade, tanto pela eventual eficácia do sistema democrático para alcançar certas metas, como pelo fato de que ele supõe certas formas de ação e não outras. A derrota negociada dos regimes autoritários em vários países latino-americanos e o inicio de uma longa e confusa fase de transição para a democracia criaram a necessidade da retomada da discussão sobre a multiplicidade de significados contidos numa proposta democrática. Neste sentido, o debate girou em tomo de duas questões: a alternativa entre a chamada democracia formal e democracia substancial, num primeiro momento, e o surgimento do conceito de democracia participativa como solução para aquele conflito. Além disso, o termo participação apresentava-se como uma fórmula mágica que abriria caminhos para a consolidação da democracia, uma vez que poderia recuperar o ideal de justiça social, socializando a responsabilidade desse ideal, através do sistema político. Nesse contexto, um dos temas mais controvertidos para a democracia moderna é o poder das organizações corporativas e o seu papel no processo político. Sem dúvida, a proposta de democracia participativa do governo constitucional que assumiu a Argentina em 1983 caraterizou do modo particular a dinâmica de formulação da política educacional e as posições das diferentes forças sociais. Além disso, recuperar o estudo dos movimentos docentes e do seu potencial transformador toma-se mais relevante na discussão político educacional, desde que se leve em conta a debilidade e a desarticulação crescentes que caracterizam a crise dos partidos políticos tanto na Argentina como em outros países da América Latina

Culioli, notre travail a pour objet d'analyser en détail des textes de Carver, et de faire ressortir quelques aspects de son écriture en ne nous attachant qu'aux marqueurs textuels ainsi qu'à leurs agencements. La première partie est consacrée à la mise en place de la phrase. La deuxième partie aborde la construction du point de vue en relation avec la construction de la référence aux personnes, aux objets et aux événements. Chez Carver, la circulation des regards ne cesse de se démultiplier, de se complexifier pour soutenir ce qu'on appelle la polyscopie. Tout comme la question du regard, qui ne saurait exister sans celle des voix, la polyscopie carverienne ne saurait être complète sans la polyphonie. Le discours rapporté et les échanges verbaux constituent donc les problématiques principales de la troisième partieWithin the framework of the utterer-centered approach (the Théorie des Opérations Enonciatives) developed by A. Culioli, our purpose is to analyse in detail texts by Carver in order to bring out certain aspects of his writing, focusing our attention exclusively on textual markers and their organization. The first part is dedicated to the construction of the sentence. In the second part, we study the construction of point of view in relation to the construction of reference to persons, objects and events. In Carver's writing, perspectives do not seem to be unique. The ever-changing origin of point of view builds up what is called «polyscopy» - an ongoing complexification of perspective. Like the question of point of view, which can not exist without that of voices, «polyscopy» in Carver's writing can not be complete without «polyphony». Resumo: Foram analisados os prontuários de 398 pacientes picados por escorpiões das espécies T. bahiensis (58,05%) e T. serrulatus (10,3%), e por aranhas do gênero Phoneutrta (31,75%), atendidos no CCI-HC-UNICAHP, no período de janeiro de 1984 a julho de 1988, com objetivo de avaliar as principais diferenças clínicas e epidemiológicas dos acidentes determinados por esses animais. Constatou-se que a maioria dos acidentes ocorreu dentro das residências, havendo diferenças entre os agentes quando analisou-se a distribuição quanto aos meses do ano, períodos do dia e geográfica, na Região Administrativa de Campinas. Os limites de idade variaram de 3 meses a 85 anos, e a faixa etária mais acometida, dividida em intervalos de 5 anos, foi de crianças com até 10 anos de idade. Predominaram os acidentes no sexo masculino, e, quanto ao segmento anatômico picado, verificou-se que a maioria ocorreu nas extremidades, sendo os determinados por escorpiões principalmente nas mãos e pela Phoneutría sp nos pés. Quanto à sintomatologia, foram mais freqüentes os sintomas locais, principalmente a dor. Utilizando-se uma classificação clínica de gravidade, comum aos três agentes, dividida em 4 estádios; ASSINTOMÁTICO, LEVE, MODERADO e GRAVE, pôde se constatar que, os acidentes foram significativamente mais graves quando os agentes foram T, serrulatu. e Phoneutria .p e em crianças com até 10 anos de idade
Abstract: The medical records of 398 patients attended at the Center for In toxication Control (CCI) \ HC-UNICAHP, victim of scorpion (T. bahinsis.-58,0% and T. Serralus-10,3%) or Phoneutria sp spider sting (31,7), from January 1984 to July 1988, were analysed in order to evaluate the clinical and epidemiological differences among the accidents caused by the these animals. It was found that the majority of the accidents occurred inside the residence, and that the three agents behaved differently when geographical, monthly and diurnal distribution of the accidents was considered. The age of the patients varied from 3 month to 85 years. The accidents occurred preferentially in children up to 10 years of age and in male patients. Host of the accidents involved the extremities , mainly the hands when caused by scorpions and the feet when Phoneutrta sp was the agent. As to the clinical picture, local symptoms were more frequent specially local pain. Using an unified classification of clinical grading from ASSYHPTOHATIC, HILD,HODERATE and SE VERE it was found that the accidents were significantly more serious in children up to 10 years or when T. Serrulatus or Phcneutria sp were the causing agents

This thesis examines a set of personal letters that comprise the documental found Collection Memory of Constituent, deposited in the Historical Archives of the Republic Museum and gathering documents produced in the course of a political process that resulted in the promulgation of the current Brazilian Constitution. Brazil was experiencing a moment of democratic transition, which aimed to put an end to the auth oritarian regime installed in the country from the civil - military coup of 1964. The settlement of a new Constitution was put up as a democratic path of struggle against authoritarianism, getting stronger and increasing social support, and even becoming a k ey point in the articulation of the indirect election of Tancredo Neves and José Sarney to the Presidency and Vice - Presidency of the Republic, in 1985. With the election and following death of Tancredo, Sarney took over the Presidency and officially propos ed the setting up of a National Constituent Assembly in the country . Then, an intense debate and negotiations surrounding the type of constituent which must be established had begun in society, with especial emphasis in the organization of an extensive and well structured social movement in favor of popular participation in the Constituent Assembly, which was acclaimed as a condition for building a truly democratic Brazil. The letters analyzed in this thesis were inserted into the context of initiatives to participate in the Constituent Assembly that took place in Brazil. They were written by ordinary people because of that constituent moment, and they were sent to political authorities. These letters register claims, requests, comments, criticisms, complain ts and suggestions for the future Constitution. The aim of this thesis is, first, to demonstrate that these letters are forms of po litic participation, unique and special, that value the democratic dimension of politics. Second, to identify the meanings gi ven by these letters to the notions of 'citizen rights' and 'duties of political representatives' at that time the country was assigned the task of elaborating a new Constitution – the 'Citizen Constitution'.
Esta tese analisa uma amostra de cartas pessoais que integram o fundo documental Coleção Memória da Constituinte, depositado no Arquivo Histórico do Museu da República. Esse fundo reúne documentos produzidos no curso do processo político que resultou na promulgação da atual Constituição Federal brasileira. O Brasil vivenciava um momento de transição democrática, que tinha por objetivo pôr fim ao regime autoritário instalado no país a partir do golpe civil-militar de 1964. A reconstitucionalização colocava-se como a via democrática de luta contra o autoritarismo, recebendo forte e crescente apoio social e tornando-se inclusive um ponto-chave na articulação da eleição indireta de Tancredo Neves e José Sarney à Presidência e Vice-Presidência da República em 1985. Com a eleição e morte de Tancredo, Sarney assume a Presidência e propõe oficialmente a convocação de uma Assembleia Nacional Constituinte no país. Tem início um intenso debate na sociedade e negociações em torno do tipo de Constituinte que se desejava estabelecer, com destaque para a organização de um amplo e bem estruturado movimento social em prol da participação popular na Constituinte, então aclamada como uma condição para a construção de um Brasil verdadeiramente democrático. As cartas analisadas nesta tese inserem-se no quadro das iniciativas de participação na Constituinte empreendidas no país. Elas foram escritas por populares, em razão daquele momento de reconstitucionalização, e enviadas a autoridades do mundo da política. Registram reivindicações, pedidos, comentários, críticas, denúncias e sugestões da população para a futura Constituição. O objetivo da tese é, por um lado, mostrar que essas cartas são formas de participação política, singulares e especiais, que valorizam a dimensão democrática da política. Por outro, identificar os sentidos atribuídos nas cartas às noções de 'direitos do cidadão' e 'deveres dos representantes políticos', naquele momento em que o país se colocava a tarefa de elaborar uma nova Constituição – a 'Constituição Cidadã'.
