Abstract:

Kuroda (1960) noted that his new species, Vertigo shimochii Kuroda & Amano, 1960, was distinct from other members of the genus in Japan by possessing a “relatively large and long shell with deep suture and much inflated whorls” (p. 77). While shell shape was noted to be similar to a Gastrocopta, they assigned the species to Vertigo based on its “shell color and lamella characteristics” (p. 77). Vertigo shimochii has since been considered endemic to the southern parts of Japan (The Environment Agency 1988; Minato 1988; Azuma 1995; Biodiversity Center of Japan 2002), and of near threatened status in the Kagoshima Prefecture Red Data Book (Kagoshima Prefectural Government 2003).

Abstract:

La reducción en el número de explotaciones campesinas entre los censos agropecuarios de 1960 y 1970-1971 se tomaron por los teóricos marxistas y no marxistas como el inicio del triunfo de la agricultura capitalista. Sin embargo, los datos de 1988 sobre los predios del IGAC y explotaciones de Penagro muestran, sil lugar a duda, una gran expansión en el número, superficie y tamaño medio de las unidades campesinas, lo cual está de acuerdo con lo ocurrido en el resto de América Latina. Lo sucedido en el período de 1960-1971 fue una crisis parcial de la aparcería y el pequeño arriendo. La PEA y el empleo agropecuario se expanden notablemente y lo hacen en mayor proporción los no remunerados de la economía campesina que los remunerados del sector capitalista. Lo anterior es completamente congruente con la tendencia del empleo urbano en Colombia y América Latina, impulsado por el sector informal. La producción agrícola campesina crece considerablemente en todo el período, a través de los mayores rendimientos; pero, la parte más dinámica de la economía es la pecuaria, al ocupar la mayor parte de sus tierras en uso económico. Finalmente, datos del DANE sobre el Censo Agropecuario de 1960 muestra ingresos bastante mayores de los campesinos que de los trabajadores sin tierra, en contraste con los resultados de la Misión del Sector Agropecuario en 1990.

Este estudo teve por objetivo a análise do discurso sobre o aleitamento, no período de 1960-1988, no Brasil, em reportagens veiculadas em revistas femininas de grande circulação no País. O estudo é centrado na área de História, especialmente na história da alimentação, com uma abordagem interdisciplinar. O período inicial - 1960 - está vinculado com o final do governo de Juscelino Kubitschek, em que a economia, liderada pelo setor industrial, cresceu em termos relativos e absolutos. O período final - 1988 - caracteriza a aprovação da Norma Brasileira de Comercialização de Alimentos para Lactentes (NBCAL), que restringiu a ação do marketing do leite em pó. A mudança nos enunciados dos discursos foi uma característica evidenciada. No período em que se apregoava o aleitamento artificial, o enunciado principal dos discursos foi a condição feminina, a valorização da mulher e o seu direito à liberdade. Com o retorno do incentivo ao aleitamento materno, os discursos foram radicais na defesa dessa prática, minimizando as dificuldades enfrentadas pela mulher em seu cotidiano.

Abstract:

One of the core tenets of foreign aid theory, particularly as encapsulated in the two-gap model, is that the insertion of foreign resources via free grants, loans, direct investment etc., into a developing economy sets in motion a causal chain of positive influences in the following broad mannerl: aid' ~ increase in investible resources ~ increase in domestic investment ~ more rapid rate of economic growth. Spirited and specific challenges to this approach came from many critics, supported greatly by a number of broad theoreticaF and empirical analyses. For a large part of the latter, the available evidence pointed to a negative relationship between aid and domestic savings. The evidence was largely based on crosssectional data, 'showing that, there was, in addition, reason to suggest a negative relationship between aid and economic growth. 3 The aim of this study is to provide some quantitative evidence on the relationship between foreign aid, domestic savings and economic growth for Pakistan. The analysis is carried out in three parts. Part one contains the methodology and the description of the data. Part two explores the correlation between aid and several other explanatory variables with Pakistan's savings rate, while part three attempts to analyse and explain the regression findings in terms of the effect of aid on economic growth.

Estudo sobre como a Divisão de Censura e Diversões Públicas (DCDP) tratou o documentário brasileiro produzido nos anos de 1960/70 e 1980. Ao analisar os pareceres de censura de 23 filmes – documentos disponíveis no site do projeto Memória da censura no cinema brasileiro 1964-1988 – optou-se por estudar os casos de O país de São Saruê e Iracema, uma transa amazônica. Nas décadas de 1960/70 presenciamos o surgimento de um novo documentarismo que buscava retratar o “Brasil profundo”, o país das desigualdades que tanto se conflitava com a imagem desenvolvimentista que a propaganda da ditadura difundia. Ao analisar a censura a estes filmes constatou-se que as dinâmicas censórias se valeram tanto de questões morais quanto de posicionamentos políticos-ideológicos.

Abstract:

Language planning in the domain of the courts in Cyprus is of interest because of the concealed salience placed upon the link between language and either state or ethnic identity. The article first examines the dominant role of English in court from 1960 until 1988 as reflecting Cyprocentric state identity associations. It then investigates the establishment of the use of Greek after the enactment of Law N.67/1988 brought the reversal of the linguistic situation. The law, which aimed at putting into action the provisions on language of the 1960 Constitution of the Republic of Cyprus and at safeguarding the use and protection of Greek, derived from Hellenocentric tendencies and its ultimate purpose was to foster Greek ethnic identity rather than to enhance the identity of the state of Cyprus. The above observations are illustrated in the analysis of the legislation on language in the courts, the linguistic situation in the judicial proceedings, and the court verdicts/judgments pertaining to language use. Finally, the article draws parallels between Fishman’s ‘nationism’ and ‘nationalism’ and the Greek-Cypriots’ language selections and identity orientations.

Karagandoceratids are a rare offshoot of the Prionoceratinae, resembling that subfamily in general conch form and sutural ontogeny, but differing by possession of an acute ventral margin and an increasingly trifid ventral lobe. The systematic position of the Karagandoceratidae has been controversial [see Bartzsch and Weyer (1988) for an exhaustive review]. The nominate genus, Karagandoceras Librovitch, 1940 (type species, K. galeatum), possesses a weakly divided ventral lobe which has led authors to refer it to both the Praeglyphioceratina (Ruzhencev, 1960, 1962; Bogoslovsky, 1971; Ruzhencev and Bogoslovskaya, 1978; Bogoslovskaya et al., 1999; Kusina, 2000) and the Goniatitina (Weyer, 1965, 1972; Kullmann, 1981). Discovery of an ancestral karagandoceratid genus, gen. nov. I aff. Karagandoceras Bartzsch and Weyer, 1988, in the early Tournaisian Siphonodella sandbergi conodont Zone in Germany provided clarification on the proximate origin of Karagandoceras and provided a plausible link to the early Tournaisian prionoceratin genus Nicimitoceras Korn, 1993 (type species, Imitoceras subacre Vöhringer, 1960). Bartzsch and Weyer (1988) proposed a karagandoceratid phylogeny beginning with gen. nov. I aff. Karagandoceras in the early Tournaisian, progressing through Karagandoceras in the middle Tournaisian, and culminating with a third, descendent genus, gen. nov. II aff. Karagandoceras (typical species, Karagandoceras bradfordi Manger, 1971), early in the late Tournaisian. Bartzsch and Weyer (1988) elected to leave both the initial and final members of this lineage, gen. nov. I and gen. nov. II aff. Karagandoceras, in open nomenclature pending discovery of more completely preserved material. Discovery of superbly preserved representatives of a new species of gen. nov. II aff. Karagandoceras from the Borden Formation in northeastern Kentucky provides additional sutural and morphological details that support Bartzsch and Weyer's phylogenetic interpretation and makes formal description of this terminal karagandoceratid taxon (herein designated Masonoceras new genus) possible.

In den Zwanziger Jahren erhielt er entscheidende Anregungen und Erfahrungen in Paul Geheebs Freier Schulgemeinde "Odenwaldschule", war danach Lehrer an staatlichen Gymnasien und nach 1945 Mitarbeiter an Schul versuchen und Bildungsplänen; von 1960-65 arbeitete er im Ausschuss "Höhere Schule" des "Deutschen Ausschusses seit 1965 Honorarprofessor an der Universität Tübingen, wo er über 20 Jahre lang sein Seminar hielt . 1978 wurde ihm die Ehrendoktorwürde der Technischen Hochschule Darmstadt verliehen. Dort hatte er einen Lehrauftrag seit 1950. Martin Wagenschein starb Ostern 1988. "

The genus Neriene Blackwall, 1833 from China is reviewed. Two new species are described: Neriene lushanensis n. sp., Neriene orthocera n. sp. Ketambea liupanensis (Tang & Song, 1992) n. comb. and Ketambea nigripectoris (Oi, 1960) n. comb. are transferred from the genus Neriene. Nineteen known species are redescribed or diagnosed and discriminated from related species: Neriene aquilirostralis Chen & Zhu, 1989, Neriene birmanica (Thorell, 1887), Neriene calozonata Chen & Zhu, 1989, Neriene cavaleriei (Schenkel, 1963), Neriene clathrata (Sundevall, 1830), Neriene compta Zhu & Sha, 1986, Neriene decormaculata Chen & Zhu, 1988, Neriene emphana (Walcknear, 1841), Neriene hammeni (Van Helsdingen, 1963), Neriene japonica (Oi, 1960), Neriene limbatinella (Bosenberg & Strand, 1906), Neriene longipedella (Bosenberg & Strand, 1960), Neriene macella (Thorell, 1898), Neriene nitens Chen & Zhu, 1991, Neriene oidedicata (Van Helsdingen, 1969), Neriene poculiforma Liu & Chen, 2010, Neriene radiata (Walckenear, 1841), Neriene strandia (Blauvelt, 1936), and Neriene zhui Chen & Li, 1995.

En este artículo se analiza la estructura, los niveles de concentración y la dinámica del sector servicios de la Zona Metropolitana de la Ciudad de México (ZMCM) de 1960 a 1998, siguiendo las etapas de auge, crisis y recuperación relativa de la economía nacional. Se parte de la hipótesis de que la ZMCM tenderá a especializarse en los servicios al productor, pues éstos se localizan preferentemente en las grandes metrópolis, tal como acontece en las ciudades globales de los países desarrollados. Se utiliza la información de los censos económicos de comercio y servicios de 1960, 1970, 1980, 1988, 1993 y 1998, que capta datos de los negocios privados. Las estadísticas censales se sometieron a una rigurosa metodología para hacerlas comparables por grupos de actividades terciarias entre los diferentes censos, además de que se ajustaron con las cuentas nacionales. Se considera que los resultados obtenidos constituyen una nueva base de datos que refleja adecuadamente el nivel real de la concentración espacial y la dinámica de crecimiento de las actividades terciarias en México. AbstractThis article analyzes the structure, levels of concentration and dynamics of the service sector in the Mexico City Metropolitan Zone (MCMZ) from 1960 to 1998, tracing the rise, crisis and relative recovery of the national economy. The author begins with the hypothesis that the MCMZ will tend to specialize in services for producers, since the latter are usually located in metropolises, as happens in major cities in developed countries. The author uses information from the economic censuses on trade and services from 1960, 1970, 1980, 1988, 1993 and 1998, which includes data on private businesses. The statistics from these censuses were subjected to a rigorous methodology to make the groups of tertiary activities comparable within the various censuses, and were also adjusted with the National Accounts. The results obtained constitute a new data base that accurately reflects the actual level of spatial concentration and the dynamics of the growth of tertiary activities in Mexico.

In our country during this period, spending on health care in relation to national income grew slowly, which led to a decrease in the corresponding share from 6.1% in 1960 to 4.6% in 1986. As of 1988, spending on health care was defined as 21.7 billion rubles, which is only 4.9% of national income. For comparison, in other economically developed countries this value reaches 8-12% of their gross national product.

The PLANETS database has been conceived and firstly compiled at the Golosiiv Observatory in 1984, Kiev (Kharin et al. 1987). Since 1988, it is updated, maintained and analysed in cooperation with the Institute of Astronomy, Moscow. By this time the database comprises most of the published optical observations of the Sun and 7 major planets made from 1960 onwards with 21 meridian instruments, 15 astrographs and 11 astrolabes at 29 observatories.

The genus Spilopteron Townes, 1960 (Ichneumonidae: Acaenitinae) is reported for the first time from Vietnam. Five of the seven reported species are described as new, comprising: S. brunneum sp. nov., S. lamdongensis sp. nov., S. nigromaculatum sp. nov., S. tamdaoensis sp. nov., and S. tumidium sp. nov. O presente artigo tem por propósito refletir sobre os saberes docentes e a prática pedagógica, produzidos e/ou reproduzidos no período de 1964 a 1988, a partir dos resultados da pesquisa de Mestrado em Educação/PPGE/UFPB “História e Memórias de vida professoral: Maria do Carmo de Miranda nas configurações do magistério (1960-1988)”. Conforme Nóvoa (2007), pesquisas sobre história de vida de professores se inserem como instrumentos elucidadores para a História da Educação, ao permitirem a discussão de aspectos educacionais a partir de trajetórias individuais, numa relação entre o privado e o político-social. O aporte teórico-metodológico discute com os fundamentos e procedimentos da memória, da história oral e da abordagem biográfica, articulados aos estudos de Le Goff (2012), Nóvoa (1999; 2007), Dosse (2009), entre outras fontes. No processo de constituição da docência, vida e contexto se entrelaçam, de forma que os saberes docentes e a prática pedagógica vivenciados pela Professora Maria do Carmo de Miranda, ora reforçaram, ora enfraqueceram as relações autoritárias de poder e opressão, presentes no contexto da docência paraibana no período investigado.

Among both developing and developed countries, Asian countries are the “superstars” of economic growth. Using the best available measures, one study found that “Asian” countries (including Japan and the Middle East) produced 25 per cent of world output in 1960 and a remarkable 36 per cent of world output in 1988. Thus, this group of countries now produces a larger fraction of world output than any other group, such as North America or Europe. But what is more remarkable is that the developing countries in Asia and the Pacific produced 25 per cent of world output in 1988—the same as the United States. Updating these statistics to 1991 would result in a U.S. share of about 23 per cent while developing Asia’s share would be about 27 per cent…
