Astic, Guy. ""Le roman international" européen : trois figures d'un renouveau romanesque : Günter Grass, Milan Kundera, Salman Rushdie." Aix-Marseille 1, 2002. http://www.theses.fr/2002AIX10063.

Full text
Abstract:

Abstract:
This study consists of an integrated linguistic analysis of the work of Milan Kundera. By integrated analysis, we mean a linguistic study carried out through qualitative and quanti-tative methods. These methods belong to the field of textometry, a discipline whose objective is to analyse textual corpora through computer processing (Guiraud, 1960; Lebart, Salem, 1994; Pincemin, 2020). More generally, this work could therefore be included in the field of stylometry, since this textometric analysis is functional to the characterization of a style of writing (Magri, 2010). Indeed, the main objective of this research is to detect by contrast the elements that define Kundera's prose. To this end, two corpora were composed : a corpus of study and a reference corpus (Rastier, 2011). The first comprehends almost all the texts of Kundera's Œuvre I, II (Gallimard, Pléiade). The second is representative of the French literary landscape of the period in which Kundera published his texts (1968-2013).The corpora were first digitised and then examined using the textometry software Hyperbase (web and standard version), which employs both classical statistical methods and deep learning techniques (CNN, Convolutional neural network). This software allows various analyses on lexical, morphosyntactic and semantic levels. In particular, the following elements have been investigated : the vocabulary structure, morphological and syntactic aspects, morphosyntactic and multidimensional patterns, and finally the thematic structure. These elements were examined in an endogenous analysis of the corpus of study and in a series of exogenous analyses between the corpus of study and the reference corpus. Indeed, comparative studies between Kundera's work and the contrastive norm represented by the reference corpus aim to isolate the linguistic characteristics of the literary language of the time in novels, essays and short stories, in order to detect the distinguishing elements of Kundera's prose that differ from the linguistic model of his contemporaries' literary language. In addition, endogenous analyses of Kundera's work - made possible by the compilation of subcorpora - can account for linguistic constants that are independent of genre, period and/or language, as well as for linguistic variants determined by literary genre, diachronic and/or linguistic variability. In conclusion, this study employs an integrated methodology (linguistics, literature, statistics, deep learning) with the aim of defining the prototypical features of Kundera's idiolect, that is, the most significant elements that distinguish his writing from that of a representative sample of his contemporary French authors

Abstract:
France played a key role in the negotiations on the peace treaties that ended the First World War, thus emerging as a major European power and key political player in the Central European region. In the period between the two world wars, French governments in Central Europe sought to preserve the status quo that they had established, and in the course of this process, developed several ideas to integrate the region into Europe. Among the French ideas for the integration of Central Europe, I will first analyse the Briand project. In a 1929 speech, French Prime Minister Aristide Briand proposed a new form of European cooperation. His idea was to create a European Union of 27 European countries, in which the Member States would retain their autonomy, and cooperation would be established primarily in the economic sphere. After a favourable reception, he put his plans into writing, publishing them in 1930. The Briand Plan placed political issues before economic ones, leading to Hungary’s and many other countries’ disappointment. A second idea was the Constructive Plan (‘Plan constructif ’), which was the antonym of the German-Austrian customs union of 1931, drawn up under the leadership of André François-Poncet, Deputy State Secretary, and published in a memorandum on 4 May 1931. In the document, the French government drew attention to four problems: the crisis in the cereals trade in Central and Eastern Europe; situation of the industrialised countries; question of capital and credit; and special situation of Austria. The plan with the most significance was submitted by the French Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, André Tardieu, to the British and Italian governments in the form of a memorandum on 2 March 1932. The Tardieu plan was to provide urgent aid to the five Danube states – Austria, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Romania and Yugoslavia – whose economic situation was close to collapse, mainly as a result of the difficulties caused by the agricultural crisis. However, the fate of the most detailed Central European plan was clearly sealed by the lack of agreement between the great powers, particularly German and Italian opposition, and the position of reluctance adopted by most of the Danube region countries. The Tardieu plan was conceived in February 1932, published in March, and in April it had practically failed. Therefore, none of the three plans developed between 1930 and 1932 was eventually implemented. Following this, no other comprehensive ideas for the integration of the Central European area in 20th Century France have been put forward.

Abstract:
This first study of the administrative and financial transformations in the Moscow Art Theater after October 1917 goes beyond the history of a single theater troupe and clearly shows both the changes inevitable in the transition to a new regime and the ways and tricks that had to be resorted to in order to adapt, survive and maintain the proper level of creativity. The Moscow Art Theater (MAT) is one of the few private companies that, immediately after the October Revolution, were included, thanks to their authority in the field of acting and directing, among the State Academic theatres; it was able to maintain some financial autonomy until the end of the 1920s, and in administrative terms to exist without a communist director until 1929. State funding, which the theater managed to limit until the end of the NEP, eventually destroyed it from the inside. Very vulnerable in the 1920s due to their realistic aesthetics and apoliticality, the aged founders gradually gain in the 1930s privileged status, but their presence in the theater becomes honorary. It was impossible to defend one’s position without patrons. First they were defended by Lunacharsky, then by Gorky. When the Meyerhold Theater was closed in 1938, and the Old Art Theater left along with Stanislavsky, the State established full control over the theater and generously financed it, turning it into a model for the entire USSR.

Abstract:
International Civil Aviation Law is one of the most important legal orders in the contemporary International Law. Since passengers are the most important component in aviation processes, it is important to ensure the protection of passengers during the aviation process. An international legal framework for air carrier liability for passengers is governed by the Warsaw Convention for the Unification of Certain Rules relating to International Carriage by Air in 1929 and also Montreal Convention for the Unification of Certain Rules relating to International Carriage by Air in 1999. Even though these conventions are available, there are some lacunas related to ensuring the protection of the passengers covered by dozens of Case Laws. As Montreal Convention in 1999 replaced the Warsaw convention in 1929, it is paramount to ascertain the existing legal phenomena regarding the liability for death and injury of passengers, enriched by case laws. The focus of this study is a doctrinal research based on International Conventions, Case Laws, Law Reports and Law Journals in an international context. Based on the International Conventions and Case Laws, this paper will analyse the existing legal regime related to air carriers’ liability over death and injury of passengers in the field of International Civil Aviation.

Abstract:
The global economic crisis was caused by the COVID-19 virus, the beginnings of which date back to December 2019. Is not an ordinary crisis, but belongs to the phenomenon that can only be compared to the crisis of 1929. Transport and tourism are among the economic sectors that were most affected by this crisis due to the quarantine measures that were present in all countries of the world. The complete lockdown caused by the COVID-19 virus prevented the movement of people and goods and thus completely prevented the functioning of traffic and tourism. The impossibility of traffic and tourism around the world contributed to a significant decrease in the income of these economic branches, as well as the gross social product at the national and global levels. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic significantly encouraged the development of new forms of tourism as well as the expansion of rural tourism, eco-tourism, and wellness. The final consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on transport and tourism will only be seen in the coming years.
