II Lietuvos Seimas 1923 – 1926 m. Santrauka. Lietuva, 1918 m. paskelbusi nepriklausomybę, pasuko demokratijos keliu. Lietuvos piliečiai galėjo tiesiogiai rinkti atstovus į Seimą, kurie atstovavo jų interesus. Istorikai daugiau tyrė Steigiamojo Seimo veiklą, nes šis Seimas padėjo pamatus tolesniam teisinės valstybės gyvavimui, nemažai tirtas III Seimas dėl savo darbų ir prezidento A. Smetonos įvykdyto valstybės perversmo. II Seimas mažai susilaukė dėmesio, todėl istorikams lieka aktualu užpildyti parlamentarizmo tyrimuose spragas. Šio darbo tikslas – išanalizuoti II Seimo veiklą, nuveiktus darbus. Tikslui pasiekti keliami uždaviniai: 1. pateikti politinės situacijos II Seimo išvakarėse apžvalgą, 2. išanalizuoti II Seimo rinkimų eigą ir rezultatus, 3. pristatyti Seimo kiekybinius ir kokybinius rodiklius, bei 4. aptarti atliktus Seimo darbus vidaus (politinėje, kultūrinėje, ekonominėje ir tautinėje sferoje) ir užsienio politikoje. Pirmajame Seime (1922 – 1923 m.) iš 78 Seimo narių – 38 buvo krikščionys demokratai (pozicija), o kita dalis opozicinės frakcijos. Toks skaičius lėmė, kad opozicija ir pozicija negal���jo tinkamai dirbti. Opozicija ginčijo Respublikos prezidento, vyriausybės išrinkimo teisėtumą (legitimumą), nesutardavo svarbiais klausimais. Todėl prezidentas A. Stulginskis 1923 kovo 13 d. paleido I Seimą. 1923m. gegužės 12-13 d. įvyko rinkimai į Antrąjį Seimą, kurie parodė, kad šį kartą rinkėjai buvo aktyvesni. The second Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania 1923 - 1926 Raimundas Trinkūnas Summary Lithuania, declared its independency in 1918, turned to the democracy way. Lithuanians were able to elect representatives directly to Seimas, who represented their interests. Historians started studying more about Constituve Seimas work, because this Seimas put the base for the further life of the juridical state existence, the III Seimas was researched quite in an intensive way as well because of its works and the revolution carried out by the president A. Smetona. The II Seimas got quite little attention. Due to that, it is of present interest to historians to fill the gaps in the researches of parliamentarism. The aims of this work – to analyze the movement and achieved works of the II Seimas. These tasks are raised in order to reach the aim: 1) to produce the review of the II Seimas Eve political situation; 2) to analyze the II Seimas election course and results; 3) to present the quantitive and qualitive indexes of Seimas, and: 4) to discuss about Seimas achieved works in inner (political, cultural, economical and national sphere) and foreign policy. From the 78 Seimas members in the First Seimas (1922-1923) – 38 members were Christian Democrats (position), and the others were opposition fractions. Entre le 15 Juillet 1921 et le 30 Novembre 1923, Emilio Cecchi publie sur le quotidien «La Tribuna» 111 articles signés d’un pseudonyme: “Il tarlo”. Ces pièces sont incluses dans une rubrique de critique littéraire qui apparaît sous le titre d’ensemble de Libri nuovi e usati. Cecchi présente au lecteur les œuvres les plus variées de nombreux auteurs italiens et étrangers: beaucoup sont entrés fermement dans le canon. Le 2 Mars 1923, c’est “Il Tarlo” à parler pour la première fois en Italie de l’Ulysses de James Joyce. Les courts articles de critique littéraire, démontrent toute l’acuité de l’interprétation de Cecchi: avec un style toujours équilibré et soutenu par une maîtrise critique très consciente, il réalise un fresque très vif de la vie littéraire au lendemain de la Première Guerre Mondiale. Between 15th July 1921 and 30th November 1923, Emilio Cecchi published in the newspaper «La Tribuna» 111 articles signed with the pseudonym “Il tarlo”: they are the literary review entitled Libri nuovi e usati. Cecchi wrote about a lot of Italian and foreign books, many of whom are now firmly in the canon. Sometimes he recommended, for the first time in Italy, fondamental masterpieces: for example, on 2nd March 1923, he is the first italian critic who wrote about Ulysses by James Joyce. These short critical texts show Cecchi's interpretive acuity: with an always measured tone, he created a vivid survey of the Italian and foreign literary life after the end of the First World War. This thesis is the complete edition of the literary review, preceded by an introduction and accompanied by critical notes and a detailed index of names

Tra il 15 luglio 1921 e il 30 novembre 1923, Emilio Cecchi pubblica sul quotidiano romano «La Tribuna» una serie di interventi firmati con lo pseudonimo “Il tarlo”. I pezzi sono inseriti in una rubrica di critica letteraria che esce, con cadenza settimanale, sotto il titolo complessivo di “Libri nuovi e usati”: la serie conta un totale di 111 testi, ciascuno della lunghezza di una colonna di quotidiano. In ognuno dei propri contributi, Cecchi riflette su uno o più libri, articoli di giornale, autori o problematiche scaturite dalle sue vaste letture. In queste prose spicca l’avidità di conoscere e di comprendere di Cecchi che, di settimana in settimana, presenta al lettore le opere più varie di numerosi autori italiani e stranieri: alcuni di questi sono ora quasi dimenticati, mentre molti altri sono ormai entrati saldamente nel canone. Tra le righe si nascondono i protagonisti indiscussi del dibattito culturale di inizio secolo e, non di rado, si colgono con sorpresa intuizioni e scoperte che confluiranno nei saggi successivi a questo periodo. In alcuni casi è proprio il critico fiorentino a consigliare per la prima volta ai lettori opere delle quali la critica in Italia non aveva avuto la capacità e l’attenzione di sottolineare il valore: non è un caso che il 2 marzo 1923 sia proprio “Il tarlo” a recensire per la prima volta in Italia “Ulysses” di James Joyce. I brevi interventi critici, nonostante il taglio spesso semiserio, dimostrano tutta l’acutezza interpretativa propria di Cecchi che, con un tono sempre misurato e sostenuto da una consapevole perizia critica, affida a questi interventi stoccate ed elogi, realizzando così un vivace affresco della vita culturale e letteraria italiana ed estera all’indomani del primo conflitto mondiale. La tesi è un'edizione completa della rubrica, preceduta da una vasta introduzione storico-critica e accompagnata da un apparato di note, strumento indispensabile per chiarire ed esplicitare allusioni, cenni e nodi problematici relativi alle molte opere recensite o citate.

Miguel Mihura (1905-1977) a débuté comme humoriste de presse en publiant des narrations brèves humoristiques dans de nombreux périodiques dès 1923. Le corpus formé par les 150 créations mihuriennes parues dans les revues festives "Muchas gracias" (1924-1927) et "Gutierrez" (1927-1933) qui se caractérise par un humour absurde, fondé sur les paradoxes, sur la parodie, sur des personnages déshumanisés et sur un référent culturel populaire, inscrit Miguel Mihura dans une certaine avant-garde littéraire, influencé par les courants surréalistes et déshumanisants des années 1930. Ces premiers textes sont fortement théâtralisés et constituent les matériaux de base de l’œuvre dramatique postérieure de Mihura. Sa première pièce « Tres sombreros de copa », écrite en 1932, est une véritable mosaïque d'éléments empruntés à sa production journalistique de jeunesse. Trois autres pièces, "Ni pobre ni rico", "Sino todo lo contrario", "El caso del señor vestido de Violeta et Carlota", écrites entre 1939 et 1957, montrent d'importantes homologies avec le style originel de l'auteur. Les dix-neuf autres pièces de Mihura font encore des emprunts sporadiques à ses créations de jeunesse, mais divergent d'elles pour suivre le courant plus réaliste du théâtre comique espagnol
Miguel Mihura (1905-1977) started his career as press humorist, publishing brief humorous narrations in a great number of periodicals between 1923 and 1933. The 150 mihurian creations published in the humorous reviews "Muchas gracias" (1924-1927) and "Gutierrez" (1927-1933) contain an absurd humour, founded on paradoxes, parody, deshumanized characters and a popular cultural referent,and place Mihura in a certain avant-garde, influenced by surrealism and dehumanization. Mihura grave a theatrical form to his works and built his later dramatic works from his youth production. His first play, tres sombreros de copa, is a real mosaic of borrowings from his journalistic works and other three plays, "Ni pobre ni rico", "Sino todo lo contrario", "El caso del senor vestido de Violeta et Carlota", written between 1939 and 1957, contain important homologies with the original mihurian style. The other nineteen plays borrow yet from the youth creations but diverge from them to follow the more realistic current of the spanish comic theatre of the time

The objective of this research is to develop a study around the teaching of Philosophy in the Italian secondary schools, based on the education reform fostered by Giovanni Gentile, Ministro della Pubblica Istruzione (Secretary of the Department of Education, in English). We will focus this study during the years of 1923 - 1925, when the reform was implemented, until the moment it suffered some changes promoted by the Secretaries of Education who succeeded Gentile. In order to achieve these objectives, we divided the research into three sections. The first section is to familiarize the reader with the history of this research, which is presenting the first years of the fascist regime implemented by Mussolini. This way, we will discuss the development of the fascism as a myth and investigate its primary impacts in the education and in the Italian society as a whole. The second section will focus on the introduction of the philosopher Giovanni Gentile. It will talk about the application of his education reform in the Italian schools, which had been stagnated since 1859, without significant accomplishments. In the third section, we will cover the teaching of Philosophy, which is present in the secondary schools but excluded from other types of schools, such as technical institutes and complementary schools. This reform has ensured the presence of the teaching of Philosophy in the curriculum but has not been enough to guarantee it to be offered to all Italian youths. The reasons that led to this unequal treatment on the teaching of Philosophy will be reviewed during this research.
Esta pesquisa tem por objetivo desenvolver um estudo acerca do ensino de Filosofia na escola secundária italiana a partir da reforma educacional promovida pelo ministro da Pubblica Istruzione Giovanni Gentile. Nos situamos, neste estudo, entre os anos de 1923 e 1925, desde a implementação da reforma até o momento em que ela passou a sofrer alguns retoques promovidos pelos ministros que sucederam a Gentile. A fim de alcançarmos tal objetivo, dividimos o trabalho em três eixos. No primeiro objetivamos contextualizar o leitor da realidade histórica em que estamos pesquisando, ou seja, os primeiros anos do regime fascista implantado por Mussolini. Assim, apresentamos a construção do fascismo como um mito e investigamos acerca de seus principais efeitos na educação e na sociedade italiana como um todo. O segundo eixo visa introduzir a figura do filósofo Giovanni Gentile nesse contexto e a aplicação de sua reforma educacional, que movimentou a escola italiana que estava praticamente estagnada, sem passar por atualizações significativas, desde 1859. No terceiro eixo tratamos do ensino de Filosofia, presente nos liceus, mas excluída de outros tipos de escolas, como o instituto técnico e a escola complementar. A mesma reforma que zelou pela presença do ensino de filosofia, por sua carga horária e por seu conteúdo, não garantiu que ela fosse oferecida a todos os jovens italianos. Os motivos que levaram a este tratamento diferenciado do ensino de filosofia, serão examinados ao longo deste trabalho.

Abstract:
Pro gradu -tutkimukseni ”Kunnioittakaamme lasta”. Lastenkasvatus Kotiliesi-lehden valossa vuosina 1923–1963, tarkoituksena on ollut valottaa lasten kasvatukseen liittyviä teemoja yhden aikansa merkittävimmän naistenlehden näkökulmasta. Olen käyttänyt lähteenäni suomalaisen Kotiliesi-lehden vuosikertoja vuoden 1923 tammikuusta, vuoden 1963 kesäkuun loppuun. Aikarajaukseni perustana on Alli Wiherheimon neljäkymmentä vuotta kestänyt ura lehden päätoimittajana. Kotilieden tavoitteena oli tarjota neuvoja perheenäidin tehtäviin, kuten lastenkasvatukseen liittyen, ja kohottaa kodissa tehty työ arvoiselleen paikalle yhteiskunnassa. Olen käyttänyt tutkimuksessani kvalitatiivista metodia. Olen pyrkinyt ymmärtämään tutkimaani ilmiötä aineistolähtöisesti, eli niiden ajatusten kautta, joita Kotiliedessä kasvatuksesta esitettiin. Olen antanut tilaa myös Kotiliedessä kirjoittaneille, ja nostanut heidän ajatuksiin ja kokemuksiaan esille. Tärkein tutkimuskysymykseni on ollut se, miten käsitys lasten kasvattamisesta ja siinä käytetyistä keinoista on muuttunut. Olen tarkastellut sitä, millaisena persoonana lapsi nähtiin ja miten häneen suhtauduttiin, sekä miten lapsen fyysiseen ja psyykkiseen kehitykseen yritettiin kasvatuksella vaikuttaa. Olen myös verrannut Kotiliedessä esiintyneitä kasvatusihanteita yleiseen vallalla olleeseen kasvatusihanteeseen. Näitä kysymyksiä olen tarkastellut lapsen kolmen elinpiirin näkökulmasta, jotka ovat nousseet esiin Kotiliedessä. Tärkein lapsen elinympäristö oli koti, toinen koulu, joka edustaa tutkimuksessani myös yhteiskuntaa yleensä, ja kolmas lapsen vapaa-aika ja harrastukset. Tärkein uutuus tutkimuksessani on se, että olen sitonut lasten kasvattamisessa tapahtuneet muutokset historialliseen kontekstiinsa. Olen tuonut esille, että taloudellisilla, poliittisilla ja kulttuurisilla muutoksilla on ollut vaikutuksensa myös lasten elämään. Olen käsitellyt kokonaisvaltaisesti kaikkia lapsen elämän osa-alueita kasvatuksen näkökulmasta. Lehdestä saamani kasvatusta käsittelevän aineiston perusteella olen pystynyt hahmottamaan kolme toisistaan erottuvaa ajanjaksoa. Ensimmäinen näistä oli 1920- ja 1930-lukujen kehollisuutta ja etupäässä fyysisestä terveyttä ihannoiva ajanjakso. Ihannelapsi oli vanhempiaan kunnioittava, terve ja liikkuva lapsi. 1940-luvulla korostui työtä tekevän ihmisen ihanne. Vaikea ja köyhä aika vaati kodin töiden osaamista. Kasvatuksessa tuli keskittyä fyysisen hyvinvoinnin lisäksi myös lapsen henkisen hyvinvoinnin edistämiseen. Sodan seurauksena avioerot ja naisten työssäkäynti lisääntyivät. Kotiliedessä korostettiin 1950-luvulta lähtien läheisten perhesuhteiden merkitystä. Perhekasvatusta tuli antaa sekä kotona että koulussa, jotta lapsista kasvaisi hyviä tulevaisuuden äitejä ja isiä. Psykologia tarjosi apukeinon lapsen sielunelämän ymmärtämiseen ja oikeaan kasvattamiseen. Iloinen ja onnellinen lapsi oli osoitus onnistuneesta kasvatustyöstä.

In the 1920s, amidst the growth of megacities and the proliferation of media and their audience,artist-intellectuals introduced new forms of expression in tune with this emerging modernity.During that period, Belmonte—a cartoonist, illustrator, chronicler, historian, poet, and painter fromSao Paulo—published in the Rio de Janeiro magazines Careta and Frou-Frou a collection ofcartoons that expressively depicted the daily life of the urban elites in both public and privatesettings. Belmonte applied an ironic and satirical lens to archetypes of gender, fashion, and socialnorms, as well as encounters in a myriad of domains to highlight the complexities and tensions thatpermeated the relations of that social group.The objective of this work is to provide a reading of these cartoons, simultaneously as source andobject, as expressions of our peripheral modernity. We utilize the concept of representationtogether with analytical techniques from cultural history as methodological tools, aiming to mapideas, values, and practices of that time period. The cartoons reveal themselves as a starting pointfor reflection about a way of life that finds much resonance with the present day, twistingconventions, aspirations and the genealogy of several behaviors.
Nos anos 1920, os intelectuais-artistas inauguravam formas de expressão sintonizadas com um projeto de modernização que ganhava corpo em meio ao crescimento das metrópoles, dos meios de comunicação de massa e da ampliação de seu público. O paulistano Belmonte — que encarnou uma multiplicidade de funções como caricaturista, ilustrador, cronista, historiador, poeta e pintor — publicou, naquele período, um expressivo conjunto de caricaturas nas revistas cariocas Careta e Frou-Frou que retratavam o cotidiano da burguesia metropolitana no ambiente privado e no espaço público. As transformações dos arquétipos de gênero, da moda, dos rituais de sociabilidade, os encontros entre uma multiplicidade de domínios, eram alguns dos temas contemplados sob o recurso da ironia e da sátira, evidenciando complexidades e tensões que permeavam as relações daquele grupo social. O objetivo desse trabalho é empreender um exercício de leitura dessas caricaturas, simultaneamente como fonte e objeto, entendidas como uma das faces da nossa modernidade periférica. Utilizaremos o conceito de representação conjugado a estratégias de análise do campo da história cultural como ferramenta metodológica, visando a mapear ideias, valores e práticas presentes naquele momento. As caricaturas se revelam como ponto de partida para propor uma reflexão sobre a construção de determinado modo de vida que encontra ressonâncias na contemporaneidade, desnaturalizando convenções, aspirações e a genealogia de uma série de comportamentos.

Ce travail consiste en l'etude des liens entre ecriture poetique et langage plastique dans l'oeuvre de beuys, dans celle de tapies et dans celle de twombly. L'analyse est fondee sur la question des relations entre ecritures et images, question que soulevent les oeuvres de ces trois artistes - meme si l'ouvrage n'examine pas de pres les raisons de leur rapprochement (la n'est pas vraiment son propos). Abstract:
Through an examination of Joseph Roth’s reportage and fiction published between 1923 and 1932, this thesis seeks to provide a systematic analysis of a particular aspect of the author’s literary style, namely his use of sharply focused visual representations, which are termed Heuristic Visuals. Close textual analysis, supplemented by insights from reader-response theory, psychology, psycholinguistics and sociology illuminate the function of these visual representations. The thesis also seeks to discover whether there are significant differences and correspondences in the use of visual representations between the reportage and fiction genres. Roth believed that writers should be engagiert, and that the truth could only be arrived at through close observation of reality, not subordinated to theory. The research analyses the techniques by which Roth challenges his readers and encourages them to discover the truth for themselves. Three basic variants of Heuristic Visuals are identified, and their use in different contexts, including that of dialectical presentations, is explored. There is evidence of the use of different variants of Heuristic Visuals according to the respective rhetorical demands of particular thematic issues. It has also been possible to establish synchronic correspondences between the different genres, and diachronic correspondences within genres. Although there are examples within the reportage where the entire article is based on an Heuristic Visual, the use of Heuristic Visuals cannot be seen as a key organizing principle in Roth’s work as a whole. As his mastery of the technique reaches its highest point in the early 1930s, Heuristic Visuals are often incorporated into the reconstruction of a complete sensory experience. Analysis of Roth’s heuristic use of visual representations has led to important insights, including a reinterpretation of the endings of Roth’s two most famous novels: Hiob and Radetzkymarsch.

Abstract:
This Ph.D. study will trace the development of National Socialism in Germany as it was depicted by three major American newspapers: the New York Times, the Chicago Daily Tribune and the Chicago Daily News. While news stories and editorials will be analyzed with respect to scope and bias, particular attention will also be paid to the decision-making processes within the newspaper establishments themselves. In attempting to understand the "news behind the news", an archival-driven methodology will be used in conjunction with the more conventional product-driven one. That is to say, memoranda and cables between publishers, editors and foreign correspondents will be examined in addition to the back issues of the newspapers themselves. By adopting this twin-pronged methodological approach, the scholar will be able to view the Hitlerian phenomenon through the eyes of the American public as well as penetrate the minds of newspapermen. My choice of publications is based strongly on the availability of primary source evidence. The Newberry Library possesses important internal documents of the Chicago Daily News. Specifically, a great deal can be learned about this newspaper's coverage of the rise of Hitler through an analysis of the relevant sections of the Charles H. Dennis Papers, Edward Price Bell Papers, Carroll Binder Papers, Edgar Mowrer Papers, Paul Mowrer Papers and Victor Lawson Papers, as well as other assorted materials. I will use the data generated from the Newberry Library in conjunction with information from the Sigrid Schultz Papers, courtesy of the State Historical Society of Wisconsin (Mass Communications History Center), as well as documents from the New York Times Archive. This will provide fresh insights into the news and editorial perceptions of the Chicago Daily News, Chicago Daily Tribune and New York Times as they relate to the events in Germany between 1923 and 1933. A key feature of this study will be a comprehensive analysis of how the relationship between a newspaper's management (which in the upcoming chapters will also be referred to as the "Home Office") and its Berlin bureau influenced the publication's news and editorial coverage of Germany. Furthermore, by examining the transatlantic correspondence between the Home Offices of the New York Times. Chicago Daily News and Chicago Daily Tribune and their field reporters, the reader will gain insight into issues which transcend the subject matter of this dissertation. These issues include: 1) Who exercised control over the formation and presentation of news -- management or the field reporter. 2) How did each paper's coverage of Hitler's rise to power reflect the journalistic principles of the day, especially those related to accuracy and objectivity. and 3) How did journalists define their role in the conduct of international affairs during the 1920's and early 1930's. Did they view themselves as detached recorders of events or as active participants in the political process, hoping to influence the course of events by shaping their coverage to conform to a particular ideological agenda?

Currently suggested systems of accounting for inflation are not the product of the 1970's but date back to the 1920's in Germany and the severe inflationary period witnessed there between 1920 and 1923. It was especially this German experience that aroused an interest in the accounting problems posed the heavily depreciated Mark, and believed to be approachable by striking at the very foundations of traditional accounting that are embedded in the stability of the unit of measurement. In the literature in English there are scattered references to the German accounting literature of the day, and this thesis attempts to provide in one volume a historical account of the long-neglected ideas of the German academic accountants whose work marked the beginning of the evolution of inflation accounting. In this thesis it is argued that the basic ideas of inflation accounting, which attempted to reflect the consequences of both general and specific price changes, were developed systematically and thoroughly by Schmalenbach, Mahlberg and Schmidt in 1921 in Germany, from where these ideas travelled to other countries, initially France and the U.S.A.

The creation of the National Department of Public Health in 1920 was a landmark in relation to the organization of public services in the area of health in Brazil, amongst the strategies created for the promotion of health, was the creation of the Sanitation Administration and Agricultural Prophylaxis whose objective was to develop projects of action mainly against the agricultural endemic diseases that devastated the population. The present research has as its general objective to study the development of the Social Program of Sanitation and Agricultural Prophylaxis in the Amazon, and its development for the sanitary service of the state from the period of 1920 to 1923, whose executive arm had been the Campaigns Sanitations and Agricultural Prophylaxis disease.
A criação do Departamento Nacional de Saúde Pública, em 1920, foi um marco em relação à organização de serviços públicos na área de saúde no Brasil. Dentre as estratégias criadas para a promoção da saúde estava a criação da Diretoria de Saneamento e Profilaxia Rural, cujo objetivo era desenvolver projetos de ação principalmente contra as endemias rurais que assolavam a população. Tidigare forskning har undersökt hur reklamannonser lockade till sig nya elever och fick dem att påbörja sina studier, oftast med ekonomiska argument ur ett individuellt perspektiv. Den här undersökningen har till uppgift att undersöka hur man konstruerade synen på den framgångsrika individen i de ledare som fanns i skoltidningen Korrespondens. Under 20- och 30-talet ser vi att man främst kommer konstruera framgång utifrån ekonomiskt och individuellt perspektiv. Vi kommer att se att det i ledarna för tidningen också fanns andra motiveringar till vad som är en framgångsrik individ. Under 40- och 50-talet fanns flera exempel av att vara framgångsrik var något som kom hela samhällets till nytta, vilket förklaras med hjälp av begreppet kommunitarism.

Este estudo relaciona a acessibilidade promovida pelas vias, sejam rodovias, ferrovias ou os rios e os mares, com o desenvolvimento urbano. Objetiva, assim, demonstrar que as formas de circular operam sobre o território por meio de ações políticas ou decorrentes das mediações da economia, na promoção, ou involução do crescimento ou desenvolvimento de um lugar. Apresenta inicialmente o processo de ocupação territorial do Brasil em que a circulação era realizada pelos rios, pelo mar e por trilhas e estradas para trânsito a pé ou com animais, fato que perdurou até o fim do século XIX. A partir daí ferrovias são inseridas constituindo uma rede, ampliando as possibilidades de circulação no país. Identifica que, com a introdução da indústria automobilística, o Brasil opta pelo predomínio rodoviário, e muitas ferrovias deixam de existir para dar lugar a rodovias. Examina como as alterações na forma de circular agiram diretamente nas localidades em que estavam inseridas, desenvolvendo-as ou até mesmo fazendo-as desaparecer. O município da Serra, definido como recorte territorial da pesquisa, foi apresentado desde sua ocupação inicial, em que a circulação predominante era promovida pela via fluvial e marítima. Posteriormente vai passar por um período de inserção da ferrovia em seu território até o estabelecimento da rodovia como principal meio de circulação. Identifica que a Serra, inicialmente, desenvolveu sua ocupação no litoral e no entorno do rio Santa Maria, onde ocorria a movimentação do café produzido na região de Santa Leopoldina. A passagem da ferrovia nessa região modificou o transporte de mercadorias e causou o declínio pela retirada de localidades, como a de Queimado e de Nova Almeida, da economia local, permanecendo esta última, apenas como balneário de patrimônio jesuítico. O recorte temporal de 1923 a 1973 parte da construção do primeiro acesso entre a Serra e a capital, Vitória, até este ramal passar a fazer parte da BR-101, inaugurada em 1973. A BR-101 redirecionou o desenvolvimento urbano para seu entorno, constituindo um dos mais importantes agentes transformadores do município que, a partir da década de 1970, foi inserido no contexto urbano e econômico da Grande Vitória, viabilizando o estabelecimento, em seu território, de grandes projetos da instância federal. Esta Dissertação de Mestrado analisa as ideias nacionalistas que orientaram a formação de professores presentes na Revista de Educação (1921-1923) partindo da hipótese de que esse periódico foi criado com o intuito de divulgar a Reforma de Ensino, implantada por Sampaio Doria em 1920. Desse modo, busquei analisar como os ideais nacionalistas da Reforma de 1920 se materializavam na Revista. A finalidade deste estudo foi compreender e analisar as implicações das idéias nacionalistas na formação de professores e como os ideais nacionalistas emergiam na Revista de Educação. A análise parte do estudo da materialidade, da periodicidade e do conteúdo referente ao nacionalismo da Revista. O referencial teórico-metodológico apóia-se num conjunto de estudos que se baseiam na História Cultural, em especial, nas premissas de Roger Chartier (1990, p. 127) que considera que “não existe texto fora do suporte que o dá a ler e que não há compreensão de um escrito, qualquer que ele seja, que não dependa das formas através das quais ele chega a seu leitor”. O estudo da “arqueologia dos objetos em sua materialidade”. Segundo Carvalho (1998, p. 35), este procedimento implica tratar o impresso analisado como objeto cultural e discernir na sua materialidade, as marcas de sua produção, circulação e usos. Como resultados finais, considero que a Revista de Educação foi importante veículo na divulgação dos ideais nacionalistas e das medidas implantadas pela Reforma de 1920

Abstract:
Die vorliegende Arbeit versteht sich als ein Beitrag zur wissenschaftlichen Bearbeitung der Geschichte der Veterinärmedizinischen Fakultät der Universität Leipzig und behandelt das erste Jahrzehnt ihres Bestehens, also den Zeitraum von 1923 bis 1933. Als Grundlage der Dokumentation dienten hauptsächlich Archivalien. Des Weiteren wurden zeitgenössische Fachzeitschriften verwendet. Zur Darstellung des zeitgeschichtlichen Hintergrundes wurden hauptsächlich Sekundärliteratur sowie einige wenige Internetseiten verwendet. Die Ergebnisse sind in zwei Abschnitte untergliedert, dabei befasst sich der erste Abschnitt mit der Gesamtfakultät, während der zweite Abschnitt näher auf die einzelnen Institute und Kliniken eingeht. Die Gesamtsituation war stark geprägt vom Umzug der Tierärztlichen Hochschule Dresden nach Leipzig und der damit verbundenen Eingliederung in die Leipziger Alma mater. Desweiteren verursachte die wirtschaftliche Notlage erhebliche Probleme für Forschung und Lehre. Dies ist auch im zweiten Abschnitt bei der Besprechung der einzelnen Einrichtungen an der Fakultät ein allgegenwärtiges Thema. Des Weiteren wird auf die Dozenten der Institute und Kliniken eingegangen, soweit diese nicht bereits Gegenstand anderer Dissertationen waren. Die wichtigsten Forschungsarbeiten und – soweit anhand von Archivalien belegbar – die Geldgeber dafür werden ebenfalls für die meisten Einrichtungen der Fakultät aufgezeigt. In der anschließenden Diskussion werden zunächst die Vor- und Nachteile des Umzuges von Dresden nach Leipzig gegenübergestellt. Obwohl die Nachteile hierbei zu überwiegen scheinen, kommt die Autorin zu dem Schluss, dass es nicht der Umzug an sich war, der sich als nachteilig erwies, sondern die wirtschaftlichen Bedingungen nach dem 1. Weltkrieg, welche den Umzug zu einer regelrechten Bewährungsprobe machten. Weiterhin wird diskutiert, ob es unter den gegebenen Umständen möglich war, freie Forschung zu betreiben. Hier wird deutlich, dass diese Möglichkeit zwar theoretisch gegeben war, praktisch jedoch waren diejenigen Forscher, welche sich mit Themen beschäftigten, die das Interesse des Staates und/oder der Industrie weckten, weitaus besser gestellt und konnten ihre Forschungen entsprechend schnell vorantreiben. Als Beispiel sei hier Arthur SCHEUNERT genannt, der sich hauptsächlich mit Vitaminforschungen beschäftigte. Forschungen, für die der Staat bzw. die Industrie keine bzw. nur wenige Gelder aufbringen konnten oder wollten, waren dagegen nur möglich, weil sich Leiter und Mitarbeiter der Institute unter Erbringung persönlicher finanzieller und zeitlicher Opfer dafür einsetzten, wie beispielsweise Herman BAUM und sein Präparator Paul KURZWEG
This paper should be understood as one article regarding the scientific processing of the history of the Faculty for Veterinary Medicine at the University of Leipzig. The paper presents the first decade of its existence, meaning the time period from 1923 to 1933. The archives have served primarily as the foundation of the documentation. Furthermore, contemporary technical journals have been used. Secondary literature and a few Internet pages have also been primarily used for the presentation of the historical background. The results have been sub-divided into two sections, whereby the first section deals with the overall faculty, while the second section addresses the details of the individual institutes and clinics. The overall situation was strongly characterized by the relocation of the College of Veterinary Medicine, Dresden, and its incorporation into the University of Leipzig. Furthermore, the economic necessity caused significant problems for research work and teaching. This is also a ubiquitous topic in the second section as part of the discussion of the individual establishments of the faculty. Furthermore, insofar as such has not been the topic of other dissertations, the lecturers at the institutes and clinics will be discussed. The most important research projects and, to the extent such can be proven on the basis of the archives, the sponsors for such projects will also be presented for most of the establishments of the faculty. The advantages and disadvantages of the relocation from Dresden to Leipzig will first be contrasted in the subsequent discussion. Although the disadvantages of this would seem to prevail, the author has concluded that the relocation itself was not the true disadvantages, but rather the economic conditions after the First World War, which made the relocation into a real test. Furthermore, if it would have been possible to conduct research freely under the circumstances will also be discussed. The fact that this possibility was entirely possible in theory, however those researchers who investigated these issues and wakened the interests of the state and/or the industry were much more capable of expediting their own research more quickly will be made clear. Im Archiv der Radeberger Exportbierbrauerei fand sich in sehr schlechtem Zustand ein Ordner mit der Aufschrift „Brauerei- und Mälzerei-Berufsgenossenschaft 1.1.09“, inliegend die Rechenschaftsberichte des Genossenschaftsvorstandes über die Jahre 1908 und 1912, ein Bericht über deren ordentliche Genossenschafts-Versammlung 1913 im alten Rathaussaal zu Dortmund sowie die Geschäftsberichte der Sektion VIII (Sachsen/Thüringen) der Genossenschaft über die Jahre 1915 und 1918. Ihnen wurden Statistik und Personalia entnommen, weil sie nicht nur Kenntnisse über den damaligen Stand des Arbeits- und Gesundheitsschutzes sowie des Versicherungswesens, sondern vor allem auch über die in der Genossenschaft organisierten Betriebe des Braugewerbes und ihres Führungspersonals vermitteln. Das gilt auch für die im gleichen Ordner abgelegten Unfall-Anzeigen über verunfalltes Brauereipersonal der Radeberger Exportbierbrauerei zwischen 1909 und 1923, die in einer Tabelle zusammengefaßt wurden. So wird zugleich Zeugnis über den damaligen technischen Zustand der Brauerei als auch über einen vergessenen Teil ihrer Mitarbeiter abgelegt, die schließlich nach ihren Möglichkeiten zum guten Ruf der Brauerei beigetragen haben.

This study is made up of the analysis and commentary of some one hundred and thirty-five caricatures in an attempt to resolve the question of a possible historical reconstruction through anti-Hitler caricatures in the satirical press of the Weimar Republic. They illustrate the rise of National Socialism, at least as seen by the critics and then the opposition and revolt that the former actually gave rise to between 1923 and 1933. The work bas required research into the precise political events referred to by each caricature and the comparison between the representation proposed by the caricature and the information and the opinion provided in retrospect by historians. This coming and going between the original document and the referential background has led to an assessment of the extent of the coverage given to the political event in question. The choice of caricatures has allowed for instance to see which appearances in public by Hitler had unleashed the most passion. Nevertheless it still remains difficult to establish a history of the rise of National Socialism and of the opposition to Hitler before 1933 from these caricatures alone

Durant quinze ans,il est le plus célèbre compositeur d'opérettes français,avec des succès souvent durables. Grâce à de nombreux documents inédits,sa biographie détaillée éclaire la vie d'un compositeur de musique légère et précise ses rapports avec nombre d'artistes,en particulier A. Jarry,Franc-Nohain,P. Bonnard,E. Gigout,de Flers et Caillavet. L'analyse de sa musique permet de mieux comprendre l'évolution qu'il initie dans le genre léger au XXe siècle,en particulier par les multiples dimensions modales de son écriture - mélodiques et harmoniques -, les secondes mises en évidence grâce aux fonctions tonales et l'utilisation des vecteurs harmoniques. Dans l'étude des moyens comiques musicaux du compositeur,ceux liés aux conflits de l'accentuation prosodique et musicale sont formalisés en utilisant les outils analytiques issus de la Théorie Générale du Rythme et des éléments de son style précisés par des représentations en arbre tirées de la Generative Theory of Tonal Music. Ce travail propose une analyse du récit romanesque des années 70, chez des écrivains ayant opté pour une nouvelle forme de prose : à la linéarité traditionnelle se substitue la discontinuité narrative, à l'unicité de l'histoire une pluralité d'éléments, à la cohérence stylistique un roman plurilingue. Les six chapitres abordent les procédés différents responsables de ce renouvellement : variations graphiques et éléments paratextuels englobés dans le texte ; pauses narratives, digressions et histoires insérées ; juxtaposition de styles et genres littéraires ; contraintes structurelles qui entament la fluidité du récit. Les exemples sont fournis par des romans contemporains de trois romanciers européens : Malina d'Ingeborg Bachmann ; Le château des destins croisés, Les villes invisibles et Si par une nuit d'hiver un voyageur d'Italo Calvino ; W ou le souvenir d'enfance et La vie mode d'emploi de Georges Perec. This work proposes an analysis of the literary text in novels of the nineteen seventies by writers who opted for a new form of prose: the traditional linearity gave way to narrative discontinuity, the oneness of the plot was replaced by a variety of elements, stylistic coherence disappeared in favour of a multiple novel. The six chapters treat the different methods involving this revolution: graphical variations and paratextual elements included in text, narrative breaks, digressions and inserted histories, mixture of styles and genders, and structural rules destroying the fluidity of the text. The examples are provided by some contemporary novels of three European writers : Malina by Ingeborg Bachmann ; The Castle of the Crossed Destinies, Invisible Cities and If on a Winter's Night a Traveler by Italo Calvino ; W or the Memory of Childhood and Life: A User's Manual by Georges Perec. Though conceived in different geographical and cultural contexts, these works present concrete analogies and, above all, a common tendency to the narrative, formal and stylistic deconstruction of text

Abstract:
By the end of the First World War the Ottoman Empire had been defeated and was in a state of disintegration. The Mudros Armistice which ended the war between the Ottoman Empire and the Allies in October 1918 was the final stage of this process; the Treaty of Sevres which followed the Armistice confirmed it. However, the National Independence Movement which emerged in Anatolia from the ruins of the Empire rejected the proposed peace terms and set itself up as an alternative government based at Ankara. It drew up the National Pact which set out the desiderata of the Nationalists, and it won a decisive victory over the Greeks who landed in Anatolia in 1919. This military victory made a peace conference imperative and enabled the Turks to negotiate peace terms with the Allies on an equal footing. The peace treaty which was signed at Lausanne on July 24, 1923 finalised the Turkish Peace Settlement, putting an end to the centuries-old Eastern Question. The object of this dissertation is to examine the motives and strategies of Britain and Turkey at the Lausanne Conference in their efforts to obtain the peace terms best suited to their interests. The focus throughout is on the factors influencing the attitude of the delegations, the instructions they received from their respective foreign ministries and the formulation of their strategies. The thesis consists of six chapters. The introductory chapter presents a brief account of events prior to the Conference. Chapter II deals with the historical background by giving a summary of the political and military events leading up to the Conference. Chapter III gives an account of the strategies of Britain and Turkey and aims to assess the respective strength and weakness of the two parties prior to the Conference. Chapter IV examines the negotiations between Britain and Turkey during the first phase of the Conference. The central axis of this examination is the Turco- British strategy which shows the critical shift in the policy of the Turks following their realisation that peace could not be made unless they came to terms with Britain. Chapter V investigates the events following the breakdown of the Conference to the re-opening with the second phase. It covers the measures taken by both sides to be in a stronger position vis-a-vis each other in preparation for the second phase of the negotiations. Chapter VI discusses the negotiations and the final settlement, concentrating mainly on the strategies of both sides in the second phase of the Conference.

Nesta tese traçamos como objetivos (i) analisar a Revista Vida Capichaba como um impresso que intencionava modificar as formas de pensar e viver dos capixabas, formando uma moderna educação do sensível; (ii) analisar as representações de belo e bom na Revista Vida Capichaba no período de 1923 a 1933; e (iii) compreender, na Revista Vida Capichaba, o empenho, por parte de seus redatores e colaboradores na utilização de um amplo conjunto de recursos (textuais, tipográficos, imagéticos) e estratégias distintas objetivando modificar as representações sobre civilidade e sensibilidades. Partimos do pressuposto de que a imprensa fundada no período republicano exerceu enorme influência sobre a população capixaba para adotar novas formas de viver, apontando para a formação de sensibilidades quanto aos espaços da cidade em transformação. Nossa hipótese de trabalho aponta para a Revista Vida Capichaba como um propagador de ideias sobre boas maneiras, civilidade e sensibilidades criado por um grupo de intelectuais que intencionavam modificar as formas de pensar e viver da população capixaba em meio às transformações do início do século XX. Nesse sentido, fundamentamos a pesquisa nos conceitos de representação de Roger Chartier (1990, 2002). Para compreender sensibilidades, precisamos de Lucien Febvre (1989), Pesavento (2003, 2005, 2007), Gay (1998) e moderno de Le Goff (2000) e Velloso (2010). Os resultados abalizam a Revista como um disseminador de ideias e ideais que conseguiu influenciar a população capixaba para sensibilidades modernas, utilizando textos e imagens sobre o território, acerca do povo ordeiro e de comportamentos esperados nessa sociedade adequando-se ao ideal moderno do início do século XX.

A partir d'une nouvelle conception de la bibliographie presentee en catalogues desormais referentiels, nous avons etabli la genese editoriale de l'auteur (poete, essayiste, critique litteraire, historien de l'art et de la poesie, penseur, traducteur) afin de comprendre son inscription (realite materielle d'une oeuvre dans le champ poetique) en lien avec l'autobiographie continuee (declarations d'intention, analyses retrospectives en entretien, reappropriation d'experiences passees. . . ). L'inscription recouvre aussi les activites publiques par lesquelles l'auteur est reconnu au sein d'institutions valorisantes. Ces sources institutionnelles font l'objet d'une partie pour chaque periode chronologique. Les deux mille sources de la reception critique (reception immediate, consecrations retrospectives, etudes diverses) permettent de saisir l'auteur avant la selection et la hierarchisation historique. Notre parcours de ce demi-siecle de creation vise, selon une periodisation en ensembles plus ou moins homogenes, a une objectivation raisonnee de l'oeuvre et de l'auteur dans ses contextes (par exemple les conditions d'elaboration d'une mythologie heroique de createur), afin d'aller au dela des illusions de la retrospection et du temoignage, bien que soient re-situees ces deux dernieres realites, constitutives de la figure de l'auteur. De nombreux projets d'inscription sont, bien sur, a lire dans la continuite des annees qui precedent mais l'auteur est en devenir. Apres avoir traverse les deux decennies de croyance a l'ecrit souverain, l'auteur est devenu a son tour un aine, une reference poetique mais aussi intellectuelle (ses positions, de traducteur et de critique d'art sont ainsi debattues des le debut des annees soixante). Les pays francophones ont participe a cette reconnaissance mais sa presence est d'emblee la plus significative dans les pays anglophones (principalement aux etats-unis). Inscription et reception capitalisees au cours de quarante ans permettent d'affirmer que l'italien, l'allemand, l'espagnol mais aussi le japonais sont les quatre autres principales langues d'accueil, en une presence renforcee depuis une decennie par la multiplication d'entretiens publies dans plus de dix langues etrangeres. According to a new way of looking at bibliographies now set out in the form of lists, which can be referred to, we have drawn up the editorial genesis of the author (a poet, an essayist, a literary critic, an art and poetry historian, a thinker, a translator), so as to understand his inscription (the material reality of a work in the poetic sphere), in relation to the continued autobiography (declarations of purpose, retrospective analyses when interviewed, reappropriation of past experiences. . . ). The inscription also coves the public activities which make the author acknowledged within valorizing institutions. Those institutional sources are the subject of one part for each chronological period. The two thousands sources of the critical reception (an immediate reception, retrospective consecrations, various studies) allow us to catch the author before the selection and the fact that he becomes historically arranged in a hierarchy. Our covering of this half-century of creation, according to regular intervals of sets which are more or less homogeneous, aims at having a reasomed objectiveness of the work and of the author in its contexts, so as to go beyond the illusionary retrospection and testimony, although the two latter realities, which are the constituent elements of the author figure, are situated once again. Of course, many plans of inscription are to be read in the continuity of the preceding years, but his work is in state of flux. After going through the two decades of belief in the sovereign writing, the author has become in his turn an elder, a reference in poetry but also an intellectual one (his positions as a translator and an art critic have thus been debated from the outset of sixties). The french-speaking countries have taken part in this acknowlegment but his presence has been directly the most significant in the english-speaking countries (mainly in the united-states). Inscription and reception, which have been capitalized for 40 years, allow us to state italian, german, spanich but also japanese are the four other main reception languages, which presence has been strengthened for a decade by the increase in interviews pubished in more than ten foreign languages.
