Abstract:
Cet article cherche à montrer, à partir d’une lecture serrée de Le moi et le ça, l’actualité de l’hypothèse freudienne de 1923 sur la sublimation intrinsèquement contradictoire, entre réussite d’une opération de transformation salvatrice de la libido et risque corollaire de déliaison entre Éros et pulsion de mort. Il souligne la grande différence entre la définition précise de la sublimation comme métamorphose du polymorphisme sexuel infantile en polymorphisme artistique et littéraire, et sa définition comme simple désexualisation, laquelle évolue facilement en désublimation dépressive. Lorsque le refoulement ne suffit plus, un clivage apparaît, on tient peut-être là un état limite de la névrose : on peut faire l’hypothèse qu’une vague hallucinatoire menace le moi et appelle un recours à la sublimation comme solution d’urgence. Clivage ou sublimation, telle est alors la question. Des exemples littéraires classiques (Hugo, Breton, Aragon, Gracq) illustrent cette hypothèse – laquelle éclaire aussi les antisublimations modernes, en particulier certaines tendances de l’art contemporain et des contre-cultures adolescentes, pour lesquelles la déliaison est une valeur. D’autres formes de création suggèrent des issues plus positives, où la contradiction entre les pulsions et l’esthétique du sublime est moins tendue.

Both multifaceted artists dedicated themselves passionately to artistic and literary expression in the pursuit of freedom. In the multi-themed section, diversity reigns: from the artistic expression of epidemics to heritage and an essay on the expropriation process of master craftsmen in contemporary Portugal. The interview constitutes a dialogue with the renowned professors, researchers, and activists Catherine Walsh and Walter Mignolo, both indispensable figures in the field of decolonial studies. A Világpolitika és Közgazdaságtan interjút kért Magyarics Tamás professzortól, Amerika szakértőtől Henry Kissinger pályafutásáról. Henry Kissinger a nemzetközi kapcsolatok elméletének megkerülhetetlen gondolkodója, elméleti és diplomáciai tevékenysége is egy szilárd világrend építésének jegyében telt. Bár van olyan szakmai nézet, amelyik szerint tagadta az idealizmust, azaz az értékek érvényesülését a nemzetközi kapcsolatokban, ez a megállapítás túl sommás. Kétségtelenül vannak erre utaló megállapításai, ugyanakkor tudományos munkásságában és államférfiúi alkotásában megvalósította a globalizáció értékrendjét. Fő teljesítménye, a globalizáció új, kiteljesedő korszakához tartozó geopolitikai szerkezet megalapozása. Egyik legfőbb tanítása az összekapcsolás doktrína, aminek az értelmében a regionális, helyi történéseket globális összefüggésbe illesztette. Utolsó művében az államférfiúságra vonatkozó bölcseleti hagyományt globális szintre emelte, bár ez a mozzanat egész munkásságát jellemezte.

Abstract:
The evaluation of economies provides an idea about the direction of countries and determines their international reputations. Economic evaluations hold significant importance for this reason. Evaluations often utilize macroeconomic indicators like real growth rate, unemployment rate, and inflation rate. On the other hand, to honestly evaluate economies, a long-term perspective is required, and it is vital to maintain continuity and have a broad scope. During this process, many factors, such as developments in the external world, geography, language, religion, ethnicity, and customary practices, can have an impact, in addition to macroeconomic factors. However, none of these (except for macroeconomic factors) have as much impact on the development of economies as the institutional factors that form the basis of the socio-political structure. As property rights, freedom of expression, press freedom, judicial independence, and equality of opportunities in the economic, social, and political fields expand in a country; experts anticipate that institutional quality will increase and positively impact economic operations. Findings indicate the necessity of conducting macroeconomic and socio-political performance measurements to evaluate the Turkish economy properly. For 1924-2023, a macroeconomic performance index (MPI) has established for measuring macroeconomic performance, and a socio-political performance index (SPI) for measuring socio-political performance. The findings obtained from the studies reveal that in Türkiye, more than ensuring only macroeconomic stability is necessary to achieve satisfactory and lasting economic success. Compromising fundamental rights, freedoms, and socio-economic justice (e.g., income distribution) has achieved stability, but only with temporary effects. The development structure and macroeconomic gains solidify the economic outlook through socio-political developments.

A partir del texto publicado en Foreign Affairs con el título “The Search of Stability”, se intentan presentar cuatro elementos centrales de su producción intelectual. Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin modern ulus-devlet olarak kuruluş sürecinde toplumsal ve mekânsal örgütlenme politikaları, kentleşme ve sanayileşme hedeflerini ortaya koymaktadır. Ulusal bağımsız ekonominin oluşturulması ve bölgeler arası eşitsizliklerin giderilmesine yönelik Anadolu’daki kamu yatırımları, hem tarım ve sanayi üretiminin hem de kentlerin gelişmesini sağlamıştır. Başkent Ankara, modern kent planlaması ve mimarisiyle kentleşme sürecinin öncüsü olmuş, kentsel mekân ile toplumsal yaşam arasında kurulan istikrarlı ilişki/etkileşim, modern kent kimliği ve kültürünü oluşturmuştur. Bu bağlamda Cumhuriyet’in tarihsel, toplumsal ve mekânsal birikim ve deneyimi, güçlü bir kentsel ve kolektif bellek yaratmıştır. Günümüzde, neoliberal şehircilik uygulamaları ve muhafazakârlaşma politikalarıyla kentler yeniden yapılandırılırken, geçmiş dönemlerin kentsel mekânları özellikle Cumhuriyet’in kuruluş dönemi mirası ve Ankara’nın yapılı çevresi, dönüşüm geçirmekte ve tahrip edilmektedir. Bu çalışma, Türkiye’nin kentleşme sürecini (1923-2023), tarihsel dönemlerde kentsel mekânla toplumsal yaşamın ilişkisi bağlamında ele almakta ve kentsel yapılı çevredeki değişim ve dönüşümlerin, kentsel kolektif hafızanın sürekliliğini nasıl etkilediğini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmanın yöntemi, bütünleştirici literatür taramasına dayanmaktadır. Kentlerin yeniden yapılandırılma sürecinde kentsel dönüşüm, soylulaştırma, sanayisizleştirme gibi uygulamalar, toplumsal ve mekânsal eşitsizlik ve ayrışmaya, kentsel dokunun parçalanmasına, kentlerin kimliksizleşmesine yol açmakta ve kentsel kolektif belleğin tarihsel sürekliliğini kaybetmesine neden olmaktadır.

Abstract:
Taking as a starting point the work of two precursors of the Surrealist revolution in Portugal in the 1940’s and 1950’s, this essay will engage in a metacritical commentary around the debate on literary and artistic experimentations that break with outdated models, eliminate the dissipation of the distance between lyric, narrative and plasticity by means of medial combination, and instabilize the traditional dynamics of aesthetic reception. The problematization of the dialogue between poetry and visual narrative allows us to perform a reading of hybrid works under the light of theories from the field of Literary Studies and Intermediality, applied here directly to the productions of Mário Cesariny (1923-2006) and Mário-Henrique Leiria (1923-1980), whose centenaries are celebrated in 2023.

Abstract:
The starting assumption is the opinion that Marković's opus is quite relevant for the re-examination of the role of the socially engaged intellectual, particularly in regional and global circumstances today. The basic procedures in dealing with the topic are: (1) presentation of Marković's main accomplishments, (2) analysis of the meaning and the place of the dialogue in communicative modalities of the opinion and (3) confirming the thesis about the harmful dialogue deficit through an illustrative example of the so-called collective West. The most important results refer to the explanation of the dissident and dialogue role of the socially responsible intellectual, as well as the corroboration of the opinions about Marković's proper attitude in that respect.

The article presents an exhibition organized by the Istanbul Research Institute to commemorate the centenary since the Allied Occupation Forces left the city on the Bosporus. Titled “Meşgul Şehir: İşgal İstanbul’unda Siyaset ve Günlük Hayat 1918-1923” (Occupied City: Politics and Daily Life in Istanbul), the exhibition will be open from January 11, 2023, to December 26, 2023. The exhibited materials bring to light that historical moment through archival documents, most of them forgotten or unpublished, coming from several countries, some neighbors, others distant.The subsequent period is characterized by an unprecedented cultural vitality. Remarkably, a plethora of talented visual artists, many of whom came from other countries, including Russia, emerged during this time. After a century, the exhibition lifts a heavy veil from the tumultuous history of the Ottoman Empire’s capital, revealing unique aspects of a traumatic yet transformative era for both ordinary inhabitants and the elites in the final days of the sultanate and the dawn of the republic.

Koch, 1850 is revised and morphological cladistic analyses carried out including all of its species, as well as most of those of the related genera Vitalius Lucas, Silva & Bertani, 1993, Nhandu Lucas, 1983, Pterinopelma Pocock, 1901, Proshapalopus Mello-Leitão, 1923, Eupalaestrus Pocock, 1901, Lasiocyano Galleti-Lima, Hamilton, Borges & Guadanucci, 2023, Parvicarina Galleti-Lima, Hamilton, Borges & Guadanucci, 2023, and Tekoapora Galleti-Lima, Hamilton, Borges & Guadanucci, 2023. A matrix with 50 terminal taxa, 2 continuous and 48 discrete characters was analyzed with TNT 1.5. The result shows a monophyletic Lasiodora as sister group of Nhandu, and Vitalius is the sister group of this clade. Lasiodora comprises 7 species: Lasiodora klugi (C. L. Koch, 1841) (type species), L. benedeni Bertkau, 1880, L. parahybana Mello-Leitão, 1917, L. subcanens Mello-Leitão, 1921, L. camurujipe n. sp., L. sertaneja n. sp., and L. franciscana n. sp. Lasiodora itabunae Mello-Leitão, 1921 is considered a junior synonym of L. klugi. Lasiodora differens Chamberlin, 1917, L. curtior Chamberlin, 1917, L. mariannae Mello-Leitão, 1921, L. difficilis Mello-Leitão, 1921, L. erythrocythara Mello-Leitão, 1921, and Acanthoscurria cristata Mello-Leitão, 1923 are considered junior synonyms of L. benedeni. Lasiodora acanthognatha Mello-Leitão, 1921 is considered junior synonym of L. parahybana. Lasiodora dulcicola Mello-Leitão, 1921 is considered junior synonym of L. subcanens. Nhandu sylviae Sherwood, Gabriel & Brescovit, 2023 is considered junior synonym of Vitalius sorocabae Mello-Leitão, 1923. The holotype of Crypsidromus isabellinus Ausserer, 1871 (type species of the genus) was reanalyzed and is considered the senior synonym of Proshapalopus anomalus Mello-Leitão, 1923 (type species of the genus). Thus, the genus Crypsidromus Ausserer, 1871 is considered valid, removed from the synonymy with Lasiodora, and Proshapalopus is considered a junior synonym of Crypsidromus. The new combination C. multicuspidatus (Mello-Leitão, 1929) n. comb. is established. Crypsidromus bolivianus Simon, 1892 is considered a junior synonym of Acanthoscurria insubtilis Simon, 1892. Five species from Costa Rica described in Crypsidromus are transferred back from Lasiodora: Crypsidromus brevibulbus Valerio, 1980 comb. rev., C. carinatus Valerio, 1980 comb. rev., C. icecu Valerio, 1980 comb. rev., C. puriscal Valerio, 1980 comb. rev., C. rubitarsus Valerio, 1980 comb. rev. Lasiodora lakoi Mello-Leitão, 1943 is transferred to Megaphobema, making the new combination Megaphobema lakoi (Mello-Leitão, 1943) n. comb. Lasiodora spinipes Ausserer, 1871 is transferred to Theraphosa, making the new combination Theraphosa spinipes (Ausserer, 1871) n. comb. Nhandu chromatus Schmidt, 2004 is transferred to Vitalius making the new combination Vitalius chromatus (Schmidt, 2004) n. comb. Lasiodora sternalis is transferred to Acanthoscurria making the new combination Acanthoscurria sternalis (Mello-Leitão, 1923). On September 1, 1923, the Great Kanto Earthquake struck the Tokyo metropolitan area of Japan. It was an extremely powerful earthquake that caused a great fire. The death toll reached approximately 105,000, and the economic loss is estimated to have exceeded 30% of the Japanese gross national product at that time. For September 2023, the Journal of Disaster Research (JDR) has planned a special issue to commemorate 100 years since the Great Kanto Earthquake. While previous special issues by the JDR have focused on specific disasters, this special issue will focus on the lessons and findings from the catastrophe and will cover even the progress of disaster research since then. We received fourteen important and thought-provoking manuscripts not only on scientific and engineering aspects but also on social and cultural aspects, including comparisons with other disasters, historical views, reconstruction issues, and future perspectives. These fourteen articles can be categorized into the three groups described below. The first four articles are the English translations of articles that originally appeared in “Koho Bosai,” the bimonthly journal on natural disaster reduction that is complied and published by the Disaster Management Section, Cabinet Office, Government of Japan. The JDR believes that these four articles provide a concise English description of various aspects of the Great Kanto Earthquake disasters. Dr. Takemura summarizes the seismic features of the 1923 Kanto Earthquake. Dr. Sekizawa summarizes the large scale urban fires that it caused. Dr. Suzuki describes various aspects of the emergency responses. Dr. Murosaki details the recovery project in Tokyo. Those articles discussed various lessons learned from the 1923 Kanto Earthquake and emphasized the importance of transferring the lessons toward future disaster mitigation. The next six papers were originally works studying various aspects of the Great Kanto Earthquake disasters. Dr. Midorikawa reviews the strong ground motion of the 1923 Kanto Earthquake. Dr. Kaneko evaluates the resulting tsunami. Mr. Mammen sheds new light on the relationship between Charles A. Beard and Goto Shinpei in terms of the recovery. Dr. Albini studies the voices of foreign residents who left impressive disaster processes at that time. Dr. Murao reviews the urbanization of Tokyo after the Kanto Earthquake. Dr. Shima studies the response of the Tokyo Electric Light Company, Inc. to the 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake. The last four papers are works on various aspects of disaster risk reduction, but all of these works were inspired by the 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake in one way or another. Dr. Shaw provides a framework for repositioning earthquake risk reduction. Dr. Shimbo explores the Phase Free Concept. Dr. Shoji focuses on the possibility of Medium-Wave AM Radio Broadcasting. Dr. Yamaguchi studies the Risk Communication Method. The Editorial Board of the JDR thanks all of these contributors and hopes that these articles serve as great sources for further research in disaster risk reduction.

As the modern Republic of Turkey—officially established on 29 October 1923—enters its second century and crucial national elections for president and parliament were held on 14 and 28 May 2023 in which the Kurds played a crucial role, this is a particularly important time to reappraise the county’s long-continuing Kurdish insurgency and related events. Over the years, two over-arching, seemingly contradictory themes involving change and continuity have characterised Turkey’s policy toward the Kurds. During Ottoman times (1261-1923) and even into the early Republican days (1923- ), the Kurds were granted a type of separate status befitting their unique ethnic identity. However, probably largely because of the Sheikh Said Rebellion in 1925, Kemalist Turkey abruptly cancelled this policy and instead initiated one of denial, assimilation, and force. The fear was that the Kurds would potentially challenge Turkey’s territorial integrity and divide the state. Only gradually beginning in the 1970s and 1980s, when this position of, denial, assimilation, and the fist had clearly failed, did Turkey cautiously and incrementally begin again reversing its policy and granting the Kurds some type of recognition. Thus this article also will cover the PKK insurgency, as well as Abdullah (Apo) Ocalan’s capture and its consequences. Subsequently, Part II of this reappraisal will bring events up to the present in 2024.

Metodología: Se ha llevado a cabo una investigación deductiva de carácter exploratorio donde se aplica la triangulación metodológica a través de dos técnicas de investigación: el marco teórico y la entrevista en profundidad. Resultados: Los responsables académicos de los MBA entienden la importancia de gestionar adecuadamente la reputación, pero no consideran que deben incluirse materias específicas en los planes de estudio, sino tratarla de manera transversal. Discusión y conclusiones: Existe una visión de la reputación ligada a los resultados económicos. El punto medular de los estudios está en el desarrollo de las dimensiones ligadas a la práctica empresarial tradicional.

The paper presents the first school of nursing in Slovenia and its successors and follows the development of these schools or, rather, education programmes.

Анализируется состояние преступности в Москве за последние тридцать лет. Предпринимается попытка показать, какие правонарушения стали наиболее «востребованными» преступным миром столицы в 1993–2023 гг., а какие постепенно сходят на нет. Рассматриваются не только тенденции преступности Новейшего времени, но и два исследования, ставшие эталонными, – группы М. Н. Гернета (1923) и группы Н. Ф. Кузнецовой (1968–1969). Делается вывод, что преступность в Москве за последние тридцать лет подверглась весьма радикальным изменениям. Отмечаются тренды, в частности, спад насильственной преступности, увеличение корыстной, появление новых видов преступлений, прежде всего киберпреступности и преступлений экстремистской направленности. Рейтинг международных организаций подтверждает, что в сравнении с основными мировыми мегаполисами Москва остается одной из наиболее безопасных столиц.

Abstract Glucagon has been an important hormone for nearly a century, as it was first discovered in 1923. Over the years, research on glucagon has provided valuable insights into its function and its role in glucose homeostasis. Glucagon receptors have indeed been identified in cardiac tissue as well. This discovery indicates that glucagon might exert direct effects on the heart, extending beyond its primary role in regulating glucose levels in the liver. The cardiovascular implications of modulating glucagon’s effects remain inadequately comprehended even in 2023. Researchers have continued to study its precise mechanisms of action and its potential therapeutic applications, especially in the context of addressing resistant cardiac failure, managing myocardial infarction, mitigating post-cardiac operation hypotension, countering intoxication from beta-blockers or calcium channel blockers, and addressing heart block. This article provides an overview of the current status of cardiac considerations in relation to the therapeutic potential of glucagon in 2023 and its future prospects.

Abstract:
Mohács város egyedülálló muzeális intézménye az 1923-ban alapított Kanizsai Dorottya Múzeum, melynek alapfeladata Mohács és környékének történeti és néprajzi kutatása, valamint Magyarország egyetlen délszláv bázisintézményeként a hazai horvátok, szerbek, szlovének tárgyi és szellemi emlékeinek gyűjtése, megőrzése, feldolgozása, közzététele. Az 1975-ös bázisintézményi szakmai besorolás eredményeként felbecsülhetetlen kulturális értéket képviselő néprajzi anyag gyűlt össze a múzeumban. Gyűjteményegységei közül a magyarországi déli szlávok országosan is egyedülálló textil-, valamint festett és ácsolt bútorgyűjteménye, a mohácsi fekete- és mázas kerámiagyűjtemény, és az egyedi busómaszkgyűjtemény emelkedik ki. Tanulmányunk e 2023-ban 100 éves jubileumát ünneplő intézmény történetét mutatja be röviden, kitérve a kezdeti időszakra, a gyűjtemények összetételére, az állandó kiállításokra, a jelen meghatározó folyamataira, és a jövőbe mutató tervekre.

Abstract:
This work belongs to a series of articles about composer Anton Eichenwald. They were published in the journal “Tatarica” in 2022-2023: “The Symphony Orchestra Concert of Oriental Music in Kazan in 1923” (2022, No. 1), “Concerts of Oriental Music in Paris” (2022, No. 2), “Anton Eikhenwald and the Kazan Office of Musical Folklore” (2023, No. 1) and “Folklore Opera ‘The Steppe' in the Perception of Our Contemporaries” (2023, No. 2). The article analyzes two memoirs about composer A. Eichenwald and his contacts with poet G. Tukay. The composer himself was named as the author of the publication “A Passionate Music Lover”, and “Chaliapin and Tukay...” was presented as retold by L. Rubinstein. Serious Tukay scholars ignored these sources. Information about the fictitious meetings of A. Eichenwald and F. Chaliapin with G. Tukay was replicated by writers, literary critics and musicologists who failed to take a critical look at the content of these “pseudo-memories.” Based on our analysis of the content of these articles and using the memoirs of Tukay's contemporaries and other documentary sources, the article proves that this material about the fictitious meetings was created by third-party authors who were ignorant of these major cultural figures' biographies.
