Abstract:
This study aims to reveal and to describe the condition of Indonesian literary criticismin a century of H.B. Jassin (1917-2017). The research problem is how the condition of Indonesian literary criticism in a century of H.B. Jassin? The method used is the historical and descriptive method. The research proves that the condition of Indonesian literary criticism in a century of H.B. Jassin progressing quite encouraging on four genres of literary criticism, namely: (1)general literary criticism or practical literary criticism developed in printed media and electronic, (2) history of academic literary that thrives in academic research focusing on philology, (3) literature appreciation and interpretation that developes in the academic and scientific journal of literature, and (4) literary theory that developes in academic world as a basic reference for writing literature scientific papers. From these results it can be concluded that the condition of Indonesian literary criticism in a century of H.B. Jassin has never been stagnant or vacuum.

Abstract:
In this article, we analyse key policy documents on teacher quality produced by the OECD and the EU during the period 2005 to 2017 using an educational connoisseurship and criticism approach. The purpose of this article is to explore how Eisner’s concepts of educational connoisseurship and educational criticism can be understood and used to analyse educational policy, especially how teacher quality is discursively constructed in transnational authoritative texts on education policy. Eisner’s three aspects of criticism, description, interpretation and evaluation can be utilised in a differentiated critical approach to the analysis of transnational policy documents on education. While the critical descriptive discourse can be viewed as ‘identifying a simple relationship’ between social development and educational needs, the interpretative critical discourse can be regarded as ‘recognising the complexity’ of teachers’ tasks in changing societies and the critical evaluative discourse as ‘recognising and problematising contradictory interests’ that affect teachers’ work. We argue that the philosophical concepts of connoisseurship and criticism contribute to policy research by demonstrating that a multifaceted concept of teacher quality is needed to capture the complex nature of education.

Abstract:
In the 1920’s Marxism, having become the state ideology of Soviet Russia, took a leading position among the political ideologies of Europe in terms of its influence on the minds and hearts of people. The teachings of K. Marx and F. Engels received various interpretations, among which “sociology of knowledge” in the interpretation of M. Scheler and K. Mannheim earned the most recognition in the academic environment. It originated in Germany in the mid 1920’s as a result of criticism of the Marxist “theory of ideology”, of “economist” limitations of the materialistic vision of man, of history and society. In the USSR “sociology of knowledge” was understood to be the most refined attempt to overcome Marxism. The essential characteristics of Marxism and “sociology of knowledge” as interpreted by K. Mannheim are revealed, while being subjected to comparative and critical analysis. The first reaction of Soviet Marxist sociologists to “sociology of knowledge” is analyzed. In the light of this reaction, it was presented as “social fascism”. The specifics of how the teachings of K. Marx and F. Engels existed in the USSR during the 1920s–1930’s are evaluated. “Historical materialism” is qualified as a sociological methodology of suspicion, and the practice of its application by the Bolsheviks as a form of discrimination and persecution in society based on social class and social group affiliation.

Abstract The purpose of this article is to interpret the term the “reflexive historicizing of communication” used by the editors of the Handbook of Communication History published in 2013. In the preface and in the first chapter, the editors introduce the above-mentioned concept, postulating that it is associated with the most important among several possible trends in communication history. Reflexive historicizing, as an important and innovative methodological directive, however, is described therein rather laconically. This article contains comments on both historicism and reflexivity. Their genesis is presented as well as their most important interpretations and possible applications in the social sciences. Particular attention is paid to the concept of historicism, since it is charged with numerous controversies and polemics (Karl Popper’s famous criticism). The main purpose of this article is to explain the meaning of historicism (and reflexivity) so as to avoid confusion and over-interpretation in the application of these concepts within communication history.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran tentang adat istiadat yang ada pada masyarakat Dusun Kuta, dan bagaimana peran keluarga dalam mensosialisasikan kepada anggota keluarganya. Metode penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif serta penemuan kuantitatif yang mendukung. Selanjutnya data diinterpretasi, sehingga menghasilkan data deskriptif berupa kata-kata tertulis dari orang dan perilaku yang dapat diamati. Sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukan dalam proses sosialisasi adat istiadat, keluarga memegang peranan yang amat penting, karena melalaui keluarga inilah anak-anak mengalami proses sosialisasi yang pertama dan mendasari semua proses sosialisasi lebih lanjut. Ibu, bapak mengajari anak-anaknya tentang sikap dan perilaku yang baik menurut adat dan harus dilakukan serta sikap dan perilaku yang tidak boleh dilakukan karena bertentangan dengan adat. Adat istiadat Dusun Kuta yang disosialisasikan itu, antara lain: perilaku dalam hidupan sehari-hari, pekerjaan dalam mencari/mendapatkan nafkah, bentuk dan bahan yang digunakan dalam pembuatan rumah, syarat dan tatacara penentuan kuncen, larangan-larangan dan keharusan-keharusan yang berkaitan dengan keberadaan tempat-tempat yang dianggap keramat.Zakat, infaq and sadaqah have been known and carried out by Muslims for a long time. Along with the times in managing zakat, infaq and sadaqah experienced changes and developments. The method used in this study is a historical method consisting of topic selection, heuristics, namely; data collection consisting of primary data sources and secondary data sources, verification, namely; historical criticism or the validity of the source by means of internal criticism and external criticism, interpretation of data namely; interpretation of data that has been verified, and historiography, namely; write down the results of the study. The results of this study indicate that in the management of zakat, infaq, and sadaqah there are changes and developments. In the history of its development starting from traditional and now there are institutions that manage zakat, infaq, and sadaqah in a professional manner, in terms of management, which are initially consumptive but now more productive, and changes in social values from the implementation of zakat, infaq and shadaqah (muzakki) can better know the condition of the mustahik (zakat recipients). Whereas institutionally tend to only carry out obligations.

Abstract This paper examines the “critique of historical existence” as a main theme in Karl Löwith’s philosophical works and discusses its emergence, its exact meaning and its contemporary relevance. First, the study shows that Löwith’s critique of History stems from his preoccupation with the question of nihilism. He first discusses the question of “the world as such” in the 1920’s in the context of his anthropological project, and then again in the 1930’s as part of his interpretation of the work of Nietzsche. Secondly, a distinction is proposed between, on the one hand, Löwith’s investigation into the “theological background of the philosophy of history” and, on the other hand, his radical criticism of history as a “historical world”. Finally, the paper sheds light on the difficulties that challenge the project of overcoming the modern historical paradigm, and goes on to discuss the new relevance that Löwith’s philosophy could have today in order to think anew the relationship between nature and history.

Summary This article presents a postcolonial interpretation of Olwid’s (Witold Hulewicz’s) book of poems Flame in Hand (Płomień w garści, 1921). His poetic ‘fragments’ describing the experience of the World War are remarkably similar to the poetry of German expressionism. Whereas previous critics treated this similarity as a proof of the derivative, unoriginal nature of the Poznań expressionism, this article claims that Olwid’s was a deliberate attempt to start a rapprochement between the Polish and the German culture. After decades of colonial dependence the breakthrough of 1918 the two cultures had a chance to resume a dialogue of equals with the expressionist poetics as a new footing. Hulewicz tones down the difference between the hegemon and the victim in the spirit of the expressionistic search for common humanity. To that end he also develops a new interpretation of the Polish Romantic tradition. His endeavours mark him out as a precursor of postcolonial criticism, and more specifically that type of postcolonialism which uses the emancipatory strategy as a means to the creation of a ‘truly free man’. That high goal is pursued not because of a commitment to cosmopolitanism but in the name of absolute human values.

The Russian translation reception of Robert Burns's poem “Who is that at my bower-door?..” (1783) is for the first time considered in the article. It is emphasized that the comic work did not attract the attention of Russian translators until 1862, when the unsatisfactory interpretation of V. D. Kostomarov, deprived of the emotionality of the English original, came out. The results of the analysis of translations of the poem created by M. N. Shelgunov (1879), T. L. Shchepkina-Kupernik (publ. 1936), S. Ya. Marshak (1939), S. Sapozhnikov (publ. 2014), E. D. Feldman (2017), A. V. Krotkov (publ. 2018) are presented. The perception of Burns’ work in Russian literary criticism and literary criticism is comprehended. In particular, numerous reviews and studies are analyzed (A. T. Twardowski, K. I. Chukovsky, E. G. Etkind, T. B. Liokumovich, R. Ya. Wright-Kovaleva, A. Bobyleva), caused by S. Ya. Marshak translation, who, despite all his liberties, preserved the atmosphere of a lively conversation between two people, and emphasized their intonational, emotional and gender differences. It is noted that, having entered into a polemic with S. Ya. Marshak, who made Burns unnecessarily classic and stylistically “smooth”, modern translators created interpretations in the spirit of courteous poetry, largely devoid of the aesthetics of the original, its unique melody.

This study aims to describe the Bajo tribal marriages at Sainoa Village, Bungku Selatan District, Morowali Regency: 1976-2017. The method used in this study was the historical method refers to the following steps: (1) Selection of topics, (2) Collection of sources, (3) Verification (historical criticism and validity of sources), (4) Interpretation (interpretation: analysis and synthesis), and (5) Historiography (writing). The results showed that: 1) The process of implementing Bajo tribal marriages at Sainoa Village was carried out through several stages namely; a) mate selection, b) assessment (tilau talang). c) hosting (Massuro). d) submission of marriage costs (nyoroh), e) pabarraang (girlfriend's night), f) marriage contract (panic). Marriage contract is held in lammeh (bridal house). 2) Customary equipment in the process of marriage, namely betel leaf, areca nut, lime, dalah kuneh, candles, flags and oje '. 3) The meaning contained in the marriage customs appears in the traditional equipment that accompanies the implementation of the marriage stages. They were consisted of betel leaf, areca nut, lime, dalah yellow, wax, flag and oje ’. All of these objects have meaning so that the bride and groom's life journey always gets blessings from the Almighty. 4) Changes in customary marriage appeared in the process and equipment that follows along with the times. The purpose of this study is the linguistic interpretation of President Donald Trump’s inaugural speech during the ceremony held in Washington D. C. on January 21, 2017. The two functions of speech which will be analyzed here are the grammatical and textual functions. The findings reveal two main themes: one is the criticism of the economic situation of America during the last years and the other is a promise and a vow for a change towards a better future where the economy will flourish and there will be prosperity. The study shows the president’s determination to make America strong again, safe again, and prosperous again.

Abstract:
Serbian music criticism became a subject of professional music critics at the beginning of the twentieth century, after being developed by music amateurs throughout the whole previous century. The Serbian Literary Magazine (1901- 1914, 1920-1941), the forum of the Serbian modernist writers in the early 1900s, had a crucial role in shaping the Serbian music criticism and essayistics of the modern era. The Serbian elite musicians wrote for the SLM and therefore it reflects the most important issues of the early twentieth century Serbian music. The SLM undertook the mission of educating its readers. The music culture of the Serbian public was only recently developed. The public needed an introduction into the most important features of the European music, as well as developing its own taste in music. This paper deals with two aspects of the music criticism in the SLM, in view of its educational role: the problem of virtuosity and the method used by music critics in this magazine. The aesthetic canon of the SLM was marked by decisively negative attitude towards the virtuosity. Mainly concerned by educating the Serbian music public in the spirit of the highest music achievements in Europe, the music writers of the SLM criticized both domestic and foreign performers who favoured virtuosity over the 'essence' of music. Therefore, Niccol? Paganini, Franz Liszt, and even Peter Tchaikowsky with his Violin concerto became the subject of the magazine's criticism. However their attitude towards the interpreters with both musicality and virtuoso technique was always positive. That was evident in the writings on Jan Kubel?k. This educational mission also had its effect on the structure of critique writings in the SLM. In their wish to inform the Serbian public on the European music (which they did very professionally), the critics gave much more information on biographies, bibliographies and style of the European composers, than they valued the interpretation itself. That was by far the weakest aspect of music criticism in the SLM. Although the music criticism in the SLM was professional and analytic one, it often used the literary style and sometimes even profane expressions in describing the artistic value and performance, more than it was necessary for the genre of music criticism. The music critics of the SLM set high aesthetic standards before the Serbian music public, and therefore the virtuosity was rejected by them. At the same time, these highly professional critics did not possess a certain level of introspection that would allow them to abstain from using sometimes empty and unconvincing phrases instead of exact formulations suitable for the professional music criticism. In that respect, music critics in the SLM did not match the standards they themselves set before both the performers and the public in Serbia.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui latar belakang kehidupan nelayan di Kelurahan Lonrae, perkembangan dari segi alat tangkap dan perkembangan armada perahu yang digunakan serta dampak yang timbul dalam bidang sosial ekonomi dan budaya pada masyarakat Nelayan di Kelurahan Lonrae. Prosedur penelitian ini mengacu pada beberapa tahapan dalam metode penelitian sejarah yang terdiri dari Heuristik (pengumpulan data) dengan wawancara serta sumber tertulis), kritik, interpretasi (penafsiran) dan terakhir adalah historiografi (penulisan sejarah). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nelayan di Kelurahan Lonrae mengalami perkembangan baik dari pola penangkapan ikan, segi alat tangkap yang digunakan. Selain Perkembangan pada alat tangkap juga terjadi pada perkembangan perahu yang digunakan oleh masyarakat nelayan di Kelurahan Lonrae selanjutnya perkembangan pada masyarakat nelayan di Kelurahan Lonrae seperti usaha rumah tangga masyarakat nelayan di Kelurahan Lonrae seperti pedagang Ikan Asap yang digeluti oleh kalangan perempuan yang memberikan keuntungan lumayan sebesar Rp.500.000,- perminggu yang memberikan dampak terhadap sektor perekonomian. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa perkembangan dari segi alat tangkap dan perahu yang dipergunakan merangsang munculnya pelaku ekonomi yang turut berpartisipasi serta memanfaatkan peluang untuk meningkatkan taraf kehidupan masyarakat nelayan terutama dalam bidang ekonomi, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa keadaan ekonomi turut mempengaruhi status sosial dalam masyarakat. Kata Kunci: Nelayan, Kelurahan Lonrae This study aims to determine the background of the life of fishermen in Lonrae Kelurahan, developments in terms of fishing gear and the development of the fleet of boats used and the impacts arising in the socio-economic and cultural fields of the fishing communities in Lonrae Kelurahan. This research procedure refers to several stages in the historical research method consisting of Heuristics (data collection) with interviews and written sources), criticism, interpretation (interpretation) and finally historiography (history writing). The results of this study indicate that fishermen in the Lonrae Village experienced a good development in terms of fishing patterns, in terms of fishing gear used. In addition to developments in fishing gear also occurred in the development of boats used by the Lonrae fishing community and further developments in the fishing communities in Lonrae Kelurahan such as household businesses in Lonrae Kelurahan such as Smoked Fish traders among women gived advantage is Rp.500.00,- who have an impact on the economic sector. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that the development in terms of fishing gear and boats used stimulates the emergence of economic actors who participate and take advantage of opportunities to improve the lives of fishing communities, especially in the economic field, this shows that economic conditions also influence social status in societyKeywords: Fishermen, Kelurahan Lonrae

Abstract:
This paper argues that debates over art exhibitions that make use of live animals, such as the Guggenheim Museum's 2017 Art and China After 1989: Theater of the World, are reflective of a schism between two general approaches to the ethico-political criticism of art. One of these approaches, the interpretation-oriented approach, is dominant in the art world and its adjacent institutions. The other, the production-oriented approach, is tacitly adopted by art-interested non-specialists. This rift explains why the use of animals in contemporary art—a practice that many art-interested people outside of the art world find bizarre and prima facie unethical—is so rarely discussed critically within art world institutions such as museums and journals. In an attempt to redress this oversight, the paper argues that the production-oriented approach is not only conceptually sound, but rationally preferable to the interpretation-oriented approach in many such cases.

Abstract:
The article “Contemporary Ukrainian Poetry” by Oleh Olzhych has been given the status of an authoritative source in domestic literary criticism in recent decades, in particular, in the study of the genesis of emigrant poetry of 1920-1930 and in general on the interpretation of the state of national literature in eastern and western countries, which in the interwar period were respectively under the rule of Russia and Poland. Only the “textual coincidences, general concept and intonation” of the article and Olzhych’s related texts were taken as the basis of identification. Such a technique contains elements of pre-programming of the final result and can lead to erroneous conclusions in identifying the author of the publication. It draws attention to the analogies of text construction, subject matter, lexical and stylistic coincidences, etc., but distracts from what is the main in the objective establishment of the publication of a particular person - the (internal) content of the text. The example of Olzhych’s attitude to the process of development of national literature in the interwar period and especially to the work of his father (Oleksandr Oles) shows that he can’t be the author of a politically quite controversial article “Contemporary Ukrainian Poetry”.

Abstract:
This study aims to determine how the history of the Lamajan Hydroelectric Power in 1925, both in terms of the geographical, demographic conditions of Pangalengan and also the components that still exist in Lamajan. Lamajan is a Dutch hydroelectric power plant (PLTA) which was built in 1924 in Pangalengan, Bandung and has been operating since 1925. Lamajan has three generator units, the engine used by Lamajan supplied from the Dutch factories Heemaf and Smit Slikkerveer, initiated by V.H Willem Smith & Co. and R.W.H. Hofstede Crull. The method used in this study is a qualitative method, namely by collecting data through literature and documentation. This method is carried out through four stages namely, heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results of this study show this hydroelectric power plant was built during the Dutch colonial era in 1920-1924 and operated in 1925. This power plant was initially built by a Dutch engineer named Willem Beyerinc K. for the electricity needs of sugar factories but over time was used to illuminate the area of Bandung and its surroundings, this power plant utilizes the flow of water from the Cisarua and Cisangkuy rivers.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui latar belakang terbentuknya pergudangan di Dusun Patte’ne Desa Temmapadduae Kabupaten Maros, perkembangan Pergudangan serta dampaknya terhadap masyarakat di kabupaten Maros. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa latar belakang terbentuknya Gudang di Patte’ne dikarenakan letak geografis yang dekat dengan pusat kota dan kepadatan penduduk kota serta banyaknya lahan kosong untuk pembangunan gudang dan banyaknya bahan baku dari luar yang membutuhkan tempat penyimpanan. Kehadiran pergudangan bagi pemerintah memberikan keuntungan terhadap Pajak serta membantu Pemerintah Setempat untuk mengurangi Pengangguran. Kemudian bagi masyarakat membantu dalam hal peningkatan kualitas peluang usaha yang dulunya hanya mendirikan warung-warung kecil kini menjadi cukup besar. Masyarakat juga terbantu dalam hal menunaikan ibadah haji dan umrah dari penjualan lahan mereka. Ratusan orang telah menunaikan haji dan umrah karena dari penjualan tersebut. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian sejarah dengan metodologi sejarah yang memiliki tahap yaitu, heuristik (pengumpulan data), kritik (verifikasi), interpretasi (penafsiran), dan historiografi (penulisan sejarah). Kata Kunci:Perkembangan, Pergudangan dan Desa Patte’ne AbstractThis research aims to find out the background of warehousing formation in the village of Patte'ne Temmapadduae, Maros Regency, development of warehouse and its impact on people in Maros district. The results of this study showed that the background was formed by the warehouse in Patte'ne because of the geographical location that is close to the city center and city population density as well as the number of vacant land for warehouse development and many raw materials from outside Requiring a storage space. The presence of warehousing for the government provides benefits to taxes and helps the local government to reduce unemployment. Then for the community to help in terms of improving the quality of business opportunities that used to only set up small stalls now become large enough. People are also helped in doing Hajj and Umrah from the sale of their land. Hundreds of people have performed Hajj and Umrah because of the sale. This research is a historical study with historical methodologies that have the stage that is, heuristics (data collection), criticism (verification), interpretation (interpretation), and historiography (historical writing). The article deals with interpretation of gender problems in amateur criticism of the German language. The goal of the study is to define specific features of gender-fair language forms, to detect the arguments of the discussion members as well as their linguistic explanation, and to consider the means of assessment used in discussion about gender-fair language. The materials examined were taken from German online-media for the period 2017 to 2021. The main research method is multifaceted discourse analysis which considers the trans-textual situation, intra-textual features and positions of the actors. The study is based on the achievements of feministic and gender linguistics. Examining gender-fair lexical units demonstrates their heterogeneity in form (natural and man-made) and content (gender specific and gender neutral). The arguments of the discussion members deal with important language problems, such as the possibility of a conscious change of language forms, the influence of language changes on the non-linguistic reality, understanding of grammar categories (gender of nouns), communicative function of the language, and problems of practical usage of language forms: intelligibility, reproducibility, compliance with mental and ethical norms. The analysis of evaluative vocabulary and keywords demonstrates conventionality and the reserve of assessments given by supporters of gender-fair language as well as the emotionality and figurativeness of assessments provided by opponents. The study of gender problems in amateur language criticism and their linguistic comprehension contributes to the development of modern scientific language criticism.

Abstract This paper presents and subjects to criticism the current principles of real estate valuation, which were introduced in Poland in the 1990’s during the return to a market economy, under the conditions of an underdeveloped real estate market. Against the background of the hypothesis of institutional maladjustment of the methodology to the current level of real estate market development, the author assesses the imitative manner of creating the valuation methodology and its discontinuation in 1998, resulting from the introduction of rigid legal regulations, which have significantly limited the ability of ongoing adjustment of the methodology to the market needs. The paper deals with the problems of defining market value and classifying valuation. The author assumes that the appraisal regarding the market value should be based on a descriptive model of real estate valuation, which should make it possible to reflect the market. He draws attention to the negative effects of valuation methodology which prevents or hinders the mapping of the market in appraisal reports. He proposes a change in the order of the legal principles of property valuation, based on a hierarchical model consisting of three elements: the definition and interpretation of value, the market and the methods of valuation.

ABSTRACTThis paper is a response to criticism by Carson (2020) concerning the age of the Unai Bapot archaeological site in the Mariana Islands. Of specific contention are supposed errors in the marine radiocarbon (14C) research reported by Petchey et al. (2017). According to Carson, this work produced marine reservoir offsets (ΔR) of “suspiciously wide variance from each other … and those results were incompatible with the site’s reported stratigraphy and dating (Carson 2008) as well as with other previously calculated marine reservoir corrections in the Mariana Islands (Carson 2010: 3).” This statement is misleading on all three points. Our reply discusses the problems encountered when dating shells from near-shore “marine” environments where terrestrial input, in particular hard water, may complicate date interpretation. We outline a cautionary tale relevant to any researcher using “marine” shell dates to develop regional archaeological chronologies in regions dominated by limestone.

In Australia, a technocratic minimalist approach to constitutional interpretation leaves little space for what has recently been described as a ‘democratic’ or ‘social’ ‘constitutional imaginary’. The ‘big picture’ of what a constitution is, and why it matters, is systematically reduced to a ‘strict and complete legalism’ that shows little interest in the social and cultural functions of a constitution in the modern world. The ‘dual citizenship’ cases (2017–18), concerning s 44 of the Australian Constitution, provide an exceptional case study. The High Court of Australia’s narrow positivism shielded it from criticism, but at a high cost to Australia’s democratic and social fabric. This article argues that, at a time when the rule of law and the public sphere is under threat as never before, we can and should expect more of our peak legal institutions. A constitutional court without a broader commitment to constitutionalism imperils the legitimacy of the whole constitutional order and of the public sphere.

Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sejarah yang terdiri atas 4 tahapan yaitu heuristik, kritik, interpretasi serta historiografi.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Tradisi Adat Pattaungeng merupakan kegiatan tahunan yang telah dilaksanakan secara turun temurun. Pemerintah mulai ikut berpartisipasi mulai tahun 2012. Faktor pendukung yang menyebabkan pelaksanaan Tradisi Adat Pattaungeng masih tetap dilaksanakan oleh masyarakat di daerah tinco yaitu adanya niat dari dalam diri untuk membudayakan dan melestarikan tradisi adat pattaungeng, adanya penerus atau pergantian generasi yang akan melaksanakan sehingga budaya tersebut tetap terlaksana dan bertahan didalam masyarakat. Tradisi tersebut dilaksanakan antar bulan september-oktober.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian di atas dapat disimpulkan bahwa masyarakat di Tinco melakukan Tradisi Adat Pattaungeng dengan keyakinan bahwa tradisi tersebut di laksanakan untuk tola bala, untuk keselamatan dan kesejahteraan agar terhindar dari bencana. The results showed that the Pattaungeng Traditional Tradition is an annual activity that has been carried down for generations. The government began to participate starting in 2012. Supporting factors that led to the implementation of the Pattaungeng Indigenous Tradition are still carried out by the community in the Tinco area, namely the existence of an inner intention to cultivate and preserve the pattaungeng traditional traditions, the successor or succession of generations who will carry out so that the culture remains implemented and survived in society. The tradition is carried out between September-October. IntroductionReliable evidence syntheses, based on rigorous systematic reviews, provide essential support for evidence-informed clinical practice and health policy. Systematic reviews should use reproducible and transparent methods to draw conclusions from the available body of evidence. Narrative synthesis of quantitative data (NS) is a method commonly used in systematic reviews where it may not be appropriate, or possible, to meta-analyse estimates of intervention effects. A common criticism of NS is that it is opaque and subject to author interpretation, casting doubt on the trustworthiness of a review’s conclusions. Despite published guidance funded by the UK’s Economic and Social Research Council on the conduct of NS, recent work suggests that this guidance is rarely used and many review authors appear to be unclear about best practice. To improve the way that NS is conducted and reported, we are developing a reporting guideline for NS of quantitative data.MethodsWe will assess how NS is implemented and reported in Cochrane systematic reviews and the findings will inform the creation of a Delphi consensus exercise by an expert panel. We will use this Delphi survey to develop a checklist for reporting standards for NS. This will be accompanied by supplementary guidance on the conduct and reporting of NS, as well as an online training resource.Ethics and disseminationEthical approval for the Delphi survey was obtained from the University of Glasgow in December 2017 (reference 400170060). Dissemination of the results of this study will be through peer-reviewed publications, and national and international conferences.

Perkembangan kehidupan sosial ekonomi masyarakat di Kampung Sicini di mulai pada awal tahun 2014 yakni dengan masuknya motornisasi perahu yang dikenal dengan perahu Fiber. Perkembangan tersebut tidak terlepas dari peran pemeritah dimana diadakannya penyuluhan yang dilakukan oleh Dapertemen Kelautan dan Perikanan yang bekerja sama dengan pemerintah setempat tentang penggunaan teknologi modern. The results showed that the fishing communities in the Sicini village of Jeneponto district relied a lot on their lives working as sailors because of the vast sea area. The development of the socioeconomic life of the people in Kampung Sicini began in early 2014 with the introduction of boat motorization known as Fiber boat. This development is inseparable from the role of the government where counseling is held by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries in collaboration with local governments on the use of modern technology. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the inclusion of modernization technology in the form of the application of modern technology in fisheries can increase people's income while increasing the socio-economic standard of life of their people. As well as the geographical location of the Sicini village which supports marine resources for the lives of its fishermen. Some of the theories used are the Edward Inskeeptetang tourism village theory where a small group of tourists live in or near a traditional atmosphere. The aim of this research is to analyze and find out the ways used by Trump in delivering his political speech, based on Fairclough’s three dimension framework (1995). The method applied in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The data in this research is a set of transcription extracted from Trump’s speech published on December 8th, 2017 on youtube, which theme of the speech is Trump’s statement about Jerussalem being the capital of Israel. The research uses Fairclough theory. Since there are three dimension frameworks of the critical discourse analysis; first, a text or description (speech, writing, vicual images or a combination of these). Second, a discursive pratice or interpretation which involves the production and consumption of the texts. Third, a social practice or explanation of the discourse. Based on the theory, this research found some results that had been gained from Trump political speech; The ways of delivering this speech were vocabulary, voice, mood and transitivity. The research object of this study is the provisions of the Provisional Constitutions of 1918, 1919 and 1920 concerning the establishment of the Lithuanian legal system. The aim of the study was to determine what was the basis for the reception of foreign law and the particularism of the law, what law was recepted and what was the relationship between it and the newly created national law. The main methods used are systematic, teleological, historical, linguistic, and comparative. This article presents an original vision of recepted law and a critical assessment of the interwar Lithuanian governmental decision to completely eliminate recepted law. In the authors' opinion, law reception and particularism enshrined in the Provisional Constitutions met the expectations of the citizens, and the government’s ambition to completely eliminate recepted law in all areas of people’s activities in the intensive development of the national law was in line with the strategic interests of the state and society. Particularism was a natural expression of pluralism inherent in the Western legal tradition and had a great potential for the development of Lithuanian law, which was not exploited due to the negative appreciation of particularism and the attempt to eliminate it completely. Acts issued by the Russian authorities in 1914-1915 and by the German authorities in 1915-1918 restricted the rights of Lithuanian residents, severely restricted monetary and property relations, made it difficult to rebuild the country’s economy, providing for repressive or restrictive measures against the citizens of hostile states. The restored state of Lithuania endeavoured to establish peaceful relations with all states, including those with whom Russia and Germany were at war. Cancelling the law imposed by the Russian and German authorities during the war was a reasonable and useful decision of the Lithuanian State authorities. The interpretation of the constitutional provision «[laws] which existed before the war» as «which existed before August 1, 1914», common in the historical legal literature of Lithuania, is incorrect. The question what laws were recepted has to be addressed not by the date of the adoption o a certain act, but by its content – insofar it is linked or unrelated to the First World War. All acts by which the Russian Empire intervened or were preparing to intervene in this war shall be considered to be excluded from the legal system of the restored State of Lithuania in the sense of the constitutional norm «[laws] which existed before the war» and the general spirit of this Constitution. The system of constitutional control entrenched in the Provisional Constitutions, where a court or an executive authority verified the compliance of a recepted law with the Constitution before applying it is subject to criticism from the standpoint of contemporary legal science, but under the conditions of Lithuania of 1918-1920, it was flexible, fast, allowing citizens to raise the issue of the constitutionality of the law and present their arguments.

Abstract:
The period between the late 1910s and early 1920s saw the emergence of onto-epistemological philosophical projects in Russia that was determined by criticism and attempts to overcome the domination of epistemology in philosophy which was the result of the intensive development of Neo-Kantianism and the influence of Husserl’s phenomenology. Attempts to turn towards ontology were made both by Russian religious philosophers and by Russian Neo-Kantians. I look at the little-studied philosophical projects of the Russian Neo-Kantians Lev Salagov and Nikolai Boldyrev. Their philosophical concepts share the tendency to transpose epistemological problems to ontology, and to identify and bring closer together epistemology and ontology. Russian philosophers ontologise the theory of cognition through the analysis of subjectivity, the complete elimination of psychological motives and the separation of transcendentalism from transcendentism. These principles enable Salagov to ground a three-part structure of cognition (consciousness, being, committing to consciousness) and to assert that the main task of genuine epistemology is exclusively the study of the cognitive relationship, committing to consciousness. They enable Boldyrev, proceeding from the separation of reflection and sensibility, to build a doctrine on the self-unfolding of being. Similar tendencies — a turn towards ontology — were observed in the same period in West European philosophy, including German Neo-Kantianism. However, the concepts of Russian Neo-Kantians, which imply a new orientation towards ontology, are fairly independent, and not only on account of the original interpretation of Kantian critical philosophy and Neo-Kantian epistemology, but also on account of internal discussion with the Russian philosophers belonging to other movements (for example, intuitivists). The analysis of the onto-epistemological projects of Russian Neo-Kantians makes important additions to the picture of the reception of Neo-Kantianism in Russia.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengolahan sagu sebelum adanya modernisasi masih bergantung pada alat-alat tradisional. Modernisasi pada proses pengolahan sagu ditandai dengan penggunaan mesin yang diperkenalkan oleh Muh. Majid pada tahun 1982. Pada proses perkembangannya secara perlahan alat modern menggantikan alat tradisional. Modernisasi memberi dampak pada peningkatan hasil produksi, peningkatan tenaga kerja, dan efisiensi waktu pengolahan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan penggunaan teknologi modern pada proses pengolahan sagu lebih efektif dan efisien di banding dengan menggunakan alat-alat tradisional. This study aims to study the modernization of sago prosessing in the village og Cenning, Malangke Barat Sub-district, West Luwu District (1982-2017). By revealing the processing of sago before modernization, the proccess of medernization and impact of modernization. Research result show that sago processing before modernization still depends on tradisional tools. Modernization in the rocessing of the sagoo is maked by yhe use of machines introduced by the Muh. Majid in 1982. In the process of development slowly modern tools replace traditional tools. Modernization has an impact on increasing production output, increasing labor and processing time efficiency. Baced on the results of the study it can be concluded that the use of modern technology in theprocessing og the sago is more effective and afficient compared to using traditional tools. This research uses historical research methodologies which include heuristics namely the stages of data collection, source criticism aimed at assessing and determining sources , interpretation, namely interpreting data and historiographic stages or presenting or writing history. The purpose of this study is: (1) describing the history of the formation of Dzikir Saman art in Wanagiri Village, Saketi District of Pandeglang Regency, (2) describing the development of Dzikir Saman art in Wanagiri Village, Saketi District, Pandeglang Regency in 1998-2017, (3) describing community efforts in preserving Dzikir Saman art as intangible cultural heritage in Pandeglang. The study uses historical methods consisting of heuristics, criticism, interpretation and historiography. The theoretical approaches used are cultural theory and challenge theory and response (response) from Arnold Toynbee. The study took year limits between 1998-2017. In 1998 as the beginning of the development of Dzikir Saman art in Wanagiri Village and in 2017 Dzikir Saman art in Wanagiri Village was named as Intangible Cultural Heritage by the Ministry of Education. The results of the study revealed that the art of Dzikir Saman in Wanagiri Village began from a teaching of the sammaniyah order. This sammaniyah order is a well-known teaching in Sufi science brought by Syech Samman in the 18th century. Then in the development of Dzikir Saman art in Wanagiri Village experienced the addition of function, which initially this art was only presented in religious ceremonies only on the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad's Maulid then saw the rapid development of the times, it became a challenge for the existence of Dzikir Saman art, finally the art of Dzikir Saman was presented also in the form of performing arts, Then in its development also the art of Dzikir Saman Wanagiri Village was named as Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2017 by the Ministry of Education. Furthermore, there are preservation efforts carried out by Dzikir Saman art players, Pandeglang community and there is government carrying capacity, so that the existence of Dzikir Saman art continues to grow, these efforts include: (1) Dzikir Saman Wanagiri Village players do training every week even though this art is not staged, (2) pandeglang community always presents Dzikir Saman art in commemoration of Prophet Muhammad's Maulid, Then there is the study of Dzikir Saman art by researchers which is one form of preservation in the field of education, (3) the existence of government carrying capacity is by presenting Dzikir Saman art in a series of Pandeglang cultural festival events.

The Islamization in Indonesia since the 7th century has also involved the transformation of Islamic religious knowledge, also called pengajian (Islamic learning). The study in its development is divided into two types; First, non-formal Quranic recitation such as Quranic recitation at home, langgar and mosque. Secondly, formal Islamic learning is institutionalized like in a pesantren. Islamic boarding schools continue the tradition of formal learning while non-formal recitation has developed since the beginning of Islamization in the 7th century and has still lived in various forms. Non-formal learning because of its egalitarian and flexible nature so that there are no specific ties which are more attractive to many people to attend the recitation. This study aims to determine how the history, methods and study patterns used by Maiyah Jamparing Asih. The method used in this study is the historical research method in four stages such as heuristics, criticism, interpretation and historiography. The results of this study show that the Islamic learning of Maiyah Jamparing Asih was established in November 2015 by four people namely Wawan, Mufti, Andityas and Nissa which were approved by Cak Nun and Sheikh Kamba at his home in Jakarta. The learning pattern or method used by Maiyah Jamparing Asih in 2015 and 2016 almost entirely uses the general learning pattern, then in 2017 used the way of interpreting pattern of the Quran and in 2018 used the general learning pattern, and the recitation method used in 2015 and 2016 uses the lecture method, then in 2017 and 2018 it used the mudzakarah method.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the study of magical realism in German literary criticism, the origins of the term and its conceptual principles are considered. The author of the article relies on the research of German scientists, in particular M. Scheffel, D. Kirchner, H. Roland, T.W. Leine, M. Niehaus, J. Schuster and notes the differences and contradictions in the interpretation of the term, the vagueness of the concept and its heterogeneity. It is emphasized that the period of formation of the magic-realistic method of writing in Germany in the historical perspective generally covers the period from 1920 to 1960 and includes the beginning of the era of National Socialism and the Second World War. In German literature, the term was not immediately established, its assertion and dissemination were hampered by several factors: first, its contradiction, because it combines semantically opposite concepts – “realism”, which directly correlates with reality, the true image of reality, and “magical”, based on the supernatural, fantastic, reaching beyond reality; second, the moment of its origin falls on a rather complex and contradictory period of German history, which is reluctantly mentioned or silenced; third, magical realism has sometimes been mistakenly identified with the notion of “Neue Sachlichkeit”. Analysis of all factors shows that the origin and formation of the magic-realistic method in German literature has its own characteristics and uniqueness and differs from the world-famous examples of Latin American or English literature. As a result, the author notes that German magical realism is historically determined and in many of its examples reflects the traumatic postwar experience with a pronounced inrospectivity and humanistic orientation. As an aesthetic concept, magical realism expands the boundaries of realism: by depicting the objective world in its real dimensions, it focuses its gaze on the unreality hidden behind real objects.

This research is a historical study with the theme of cultural history, with the object of research being the Kompangan Group and the Hadrah Group belonging to the Jambi seberang cultural arts institute in Jelmu village, Kampung Tengah Sekoja district. The main research problem is about “Kompangan and Hadrah Group Managed by LOSBJKS in Jelmu Village Since 1995 – 2017”, with two formulation of the problem proposed, namely; why LOSBJKS as an art institution can advance and develop the arts of Kompangan and Hadrah especially in Jelmu village and generally in the Sekoja area, and how LOSBJKS in preserving the values contained in the art of Kompangan and Hadrah as Jambi Malay traditional arts. The research objective is to explain the development of the Kompangan and Hadrah Groups belonging LOSBJKS which are the pioneers for the emergence of other traditional art groups especially in Jelmu village and generally in Sekoja area. In addition, it can also describe the roles and contributions of the board and members who are members of LOSBJKS to preserve the arts of Kompangan and Hadrah as traditional Jambi Malay arts. The research method used is the historical method which is method in historical research, where according to Kuntowijoyo the method starts from the heuristic, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The findings show that there are change and developments from LOSBJKS, namely, first it can be seen from the name change from Riyadusholihin to LOSBJKS. Second, it is seen in the wider area of origin of permanent and non-permanent members. Third, in the terms of musical instruments, fourth, namely the costumes used especially the members of the Hadrah Group. Fifth, there was a change in the Kompangan technique (straight and circular patterns), if previously it was more characteristic of the Palembang (irregular) hitting technique, it had changed to Jambi striking technique that was more polite and neat. Sixth, in therm of singing there has also been a change, namely generally prayer and Malay songs, but at festivals sometimes there are also local songs so that they are not monoton.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tentang SMAN 1 Luwu sebagai wadah proses pendidikan di Kabupaten Luwu 1967-2017) dengan mengungkap proses berdirinya SMAN 1 Luwu dan perkembangan SMAN 1 Luwu dalam periode 1967-1998 dan periode 1998-2017 serta peranan keberadaan SMAN 1 Luwu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, berdirinya SMAN 1 Luwu dimulai pada masa kepemimpinan Husain Saweni (1967-1980). Proses pendirian SMAN 1 Luwu tidak terlepas dari peran masyarakat yang menginginkan adanya pendirian sekolah sebagai sarana pendidikan formal. Perkembangan SMAN 1 Luwu dapat di lihat dari perkembangan sarana dan prasarana yang mengalami peningkatan serta prestasi-prestasi yang di raih oleh peserta didik baik akademik maupun non akademik. Keberadaan SMAN 1 Luwu sebagai pelopor pertama berdirinya sekolah pendidikan tingkat SMA dan termasuk sekolah yang diunggulkan dalam hal pencapaian prestasi di Kabupaten Luwu. Pendirian sekolah ini di rasakan masyarakat sebagai satu jalan dalam peningkatan pengembangan pendidikan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat di simpulkan bahwa masyarakat yang berperan aktif dalam proses pendirian SMAN 1 Luwu. Hal ini disebabkan oleh beberapa hal di antaranya sulitnya akses pendidikan tingkat SMA di Luwu, kesadaran akan pentingnya pendidikan, serta dukungan dari pihak masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sejarah yang meliputi heuristik yaitu tahapan pengumpulan data, kritik sumber bertujuan menilai dan menentukan sumber, interpretasi yaitu menafsirkan data dan tahap historiografi atau penyajian atau penulisan sejarah. Batasan awal penelitian ini diambil pada tahun 2003 karena pada tahun ini merupakan awal mulanya usaha industri rumah tangga keripik pisang Koisna di Mangkutana didirikan. Batasan akhirnya adalah tahun 2017 yang merupakan periode yang menjelaskan perkembangan industri rumah tangga keripik pisang Koisna di Mangkutana. Penelitian di lakukan melalui studi lapangan dan kajian pustaka dengan mengunakan metode sejarah melalui beberapa tahapan kerja, yaitu heuristik, kritik, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa industri rumah tangga keripik pisang Koisna berdiri dan dilatar belakangi oleh adanya seorang karyawan yang telah di PHK sehingga berkeinginan untuk membentuk industri makanan dengan mengolah pisang tersebut. Despite being early in his tenure on the U.S. Supreme Court, Justice Neil Gorsuch has already made his presence known. His October 16, 2017 statement respecting the denial of certiorari in Scenic America, Inc. v. Department of Transportation garnered significant attention within the legal community. Joined by Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Samuel Alito, Justice Gorsuch questioned whether the Court’s bedrock 2-part test from Chevron, U.S.A. v. NRDC—whereby courts must defer to an agency’s reasonable interpretation of an ambiguous statutory term—should apply in the case. Justice Gorsuch’s criticism of the Chevron doctrine was not a surprise. In the months leading up to his confirmation hearing, legal scholars pored over his opinions while he was a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and they had already unearthed his discomfort with the Chevron doctrine. Similarly, through an analysis of his originalism ideology and textualist approach to judicial decision-making, they have attempted to predict how Justice Gorsuch will decide future cases in other important areas of the law. To date, however, Justice Gorsuch’s view on the Seminole Rock deference doctrine has gone unexamined by scholars. Known as Chevron’s “doctrinal cousin,” the Seminole Rock doctrine directs federal courts to defer to an administrative agency’s interpretation of its own regulation unless such interpretation “is plainly erroneous or inconsistent with the regulation.” Especially given the profound practical importance of the doctrine in our administrative state and the Court’s recent interest in it, an assessment of Justice Gorsuch’s view is not merely academic. This essay provides that assessment. First, the essay examines the Seminole Rock deference doctrine and explores the Court’s recent interest in the doctrine. Part II analyzes Justice Gorsuch’s likely view on the Seminole Rock doctrine by examining key Tenth Circuit opinions that will influence his view on Seminole Rock while on the Supreme Court. The essay concludes that although Justice Gorsusch would likely be very skeptical of Seminole Rock, he should ultimately choose to retain the doctrine provided that the Court continues to provide safeguards that would mitigate or even mute any perceived over-reach that the application of Seminole Rock allows in our administrative state.

This study aims to determine the potential of historical attractions in Sinjai Regency, the development of historical tourism in Sinjai Regency 2008-2016, and the impact of historical tourism on the communities around the site, the government and tourists. The method used in the research and writing of this thesis is a historical research method, which includes: heuristics, source criticism, interpretation and historiography. The techniques used in data collection are observation, interview and literature study techniques. The results of this study indicate that Sinjai as a Level II Region in South Sulawesi has tourism potential that is not inferior to other regions. The Batupake Gojeng Archaeological Park, the Karampuang Indigenous Area, and the Balangnipa Fort are one of the historical tourist destinations offered by Sinjai Regency. Although the Tourism and Culture Office of Sinjai Regency was only established in 2017, activities in the tourism sector will continue to be carried out in previous years. The three historical attractions have their respective developments both in terms of facilities and infrastructure to the number of visitors. The contribution of each element in the development of the historical tourism sector in Sinjai Regency is something that needs to be improved. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that the historical attractions in Sinjai Regency have an impact on the socio-cultural, educational and economic sectors for the local government and the people who live around the site.

The research was conducted using the literature study method or literature of secondary data sources collected through textbooks, e-books, scientific journals, and educational journals. Stages of data validity test consisted of collecting data or secondary sources, source criticism carried out by validators, interpretation or analysis of data, and historiography or writing of research results, then conclusions were drawn based on data analysis and research results. The results showed that 1) the fable text in the Fable book entitled mousedeer and his close friends contained character values namely the values of independent, creative, tolerance, friendly, environmental care, social care, hard work, peace-loving, democratic, religious. 2) the character values were in accordance with the 2013 curriculum include core competencies -1 (Ki-1) religious attitudes, core competencies -2 (Ki-2) social attitudes. The character values in children's story books of Fable entitled Mousedeer and his Best Friends were relevant to the regulation of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 87 of 2017. The character education values were formulated into 18, i.e.: religious, honest, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, spirit of nationalism, love for the homeland, respect for achievement, friendly/communicative, love peace, love to read, care for the environment, care about social, and responsibility.Â

Dia dikenal sebagai salah satu pendiri dan ketua Pasundan Istri, serta merupakan perempuan Sunda pertama yang terpilih sebagai anggota gemeenteraad. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sejarah. Metode sejarah mencakup tahapan menemukan dan mengumpulkan sumber serta data (heuristic), kritik sumber, interpretasi dan historiografi. Pendekatan sejarah politik digunakan untuk mengelaborasi pemikiran-pemikiran Émma Poeradiredja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa menurut Émma Poeradiredja, dalam kehidupan masyarakat, perempuan dapat menjalankan empat peran, yakni sebagai ibu, sebagai pemimpin dalam urusan rumah tangga, sebagai isteri, dan sebagai warga negara. Dengan demikian, pemberdayaan perempuan dilakukan dalam tiga tahap. This article intends to show the thoughts and roles of Émma Poeradiredja in the Indonesian women's political movement. Émma Poeradiredja is a Sundanese woman who has been involved in Indonesian women's movements since the 1920s. She was known as one of the founders and chairman of the Pasundan Women, and was the first Sundanese woman to be elected as a member of the gemeenteraad. In this study historical methods are used. Historical methods include the stages of finding and collecting sources and data (heuristics), source criticism, interpretation and historiography. The approach to political history was used to elaborate on the thoughts of Émma Poeradiredja. The results of this study indicate that according to Émma Poeradiredja, in people's lives, women can carry out four roles: as mothers, as leaders in household affairs, as wives, and as citizens. Thus, women's empowerment is carried out in three stages. First, in the household; second, in socio-economic life where women are in a position side by side with men in carrying out obligations in society; third, in politics, women must participate in accepting political work. Women's empowerment was carried out first through education and then through political movements. Émma emphasized that in this political field the role of women as citizens who participate in government life can be carried out.

Abstract The United Nations’ Human Development Index (HDI) has become an important tool for measuring and comparing living standards between countries and regions. However, the HDI has also attracted a fair share of conceptual criticism. Starting from Andrea Wagner’s historical estimations of a HDI for Germany in the interwar and early postwar period, we take up part of that criticism by implementing three essential modifications to the mode of calculation. We test how far they alter our picture of the relative living standard in the Weimar Republic, the Third Reich, and the Federal Republic of Germany. First, we replace the arithmetic mean by the geometric mean, which is said to solve the problem of perfect substitutability; second, we extend the HDI by an additional fourth dimension measuring economic and political freedom – an important, though neglected, dimension; and third, as the perhaps most crucial conceptual intervention, we develop weighting schemes for the partial indices that are theoretically backed by happiness economic research. Thus, we challenge the common, but arbitrary fundamental assumption that all partial indices receive equal weights. Our results show that the HDI for Germany reacts very sensitively to conceptual interventions, making it difficult to use it for the intertemporal and international comparison of living standards. We also find that the proposed modified HDIs allow for a re-evaluation of the living standard in interwar Germany; and in contrast to what the reference estimations on the HDI for Germany say, there is a profound discontinuity between the Third Reich and post-war Germany in terms of living standards.

ABSTRACTMabokuy art is a helaran art in the Ciamis Regency area. The purpose of this study was to determine how early the development of Mabokuy art and how the influence of Mabokuy art on the economy. The method used is the historical or historical method (heuristics, criticism, interpretation, historiography). Data collection techniques used are observation techniques, interview techniques, documentation techniques. The results showed that Mabokuy art is one of the traditional cultural arts that was revived through an activity of the Purwaraja Village community in pursuing garabadan weaving or household utensils. Eman Hermansyah glanced at the community's expertise so that it gave the idea to create new innovations that produced a giant robot with the concept of helaran art accompanied by traditional musical instruments. The development of Mabokuy art in 2015 began with performances in the local area in a thanksgiving event. Starting from the performance, Mabokuy art in 2016-2017 continued to appear at various events, even at the 2018 Ciamis Regency Galuh Ethnic Carnival and the anniversary of other districts. In the Mabokuy art form, changes occur from the beginning until now. The influence of Mabokuy art on the economy of the people of Purwaraja Village is an increase in people's income, for example income from IDR 2,560,000 to IDR 5,600,000 per month. Perkembangan kesenian Mabokuy pada tahun 2015 diawali dengan pementasan di wilayah setempat dalam acara syukuran. Berawal dari pementasan tersebut, kesenian Mabokuy pada tahun 2016-2017 terus menerus tampil di berbagai acara bahkan dalam acara Galuh Ethnic Carnival Kabupaten Ciamis 2018 dan HUT kabupaten-kabupaten lainnya. Dalam bentuk kesenian Mabokuy terjadi perubahan dari awal tercipta sampai dengan sekarang. Adapun pengaruh kesenian Mabokuy terhadap perekonomian masyarakat Desa Purwaraja adalah terjadinya peningkatan penghasilan masyarakat, misalnya penghasilan Rp 2.560.000 menjadi Rp 5.600.000 per bulan. The current research answers the question how Twitter users express their evaluation of topical social problems (explicitly or implicitly) and what linguistic means they use, being restricted by the allowed length of the message. The article explores how Twitter users communicate with each other and exchange ideas on social issues of great importance, express their feelings using a number of linguistic means, while being limited by a fixed number of characters, and form solidarity, being geographically distant from each other. The research is focused on the linguistic tools employed by Twitter users in order to express their personal attitude. The subject chosen for study was the migration processes in Europe and the USA. The aim of the current investigation is to determine the correlation between the attitudes of English-speaking users towards migration and the way they are expressed implicitly or explicitly. The authors make an attempt to define which tools contribute to the implicit or explicit nature of the utterances. The material includes 100 tweets of English-speaking users collected from February 1 to July 31, 2017. The choice of the time period is defined by significant events in Trumps migration policy and their consequences. The research is based on the content analysis of the material carried out by means of the Atlas.ti program. The software performs the coding of textual units, counts the frequency of codes and their correlation. The results of the research show that Twitter users tend to express their critical attitudes towards migration, rather than approve of it or sympathise with migrants. Criticism is more often expressed implicitly rather than explicitly. In order to disguise the attitude and feelings, the English-speaking users of Twitter employed irony, questions and quotations, while the explicit expression of attitudes was done by means of imperative structures. It is also worth mentioning that ellipses, contractions and abbreviations were used quite frequently due to the word limit of tweets. At the same time, the lack of knowledge about extralinguistic factors and personal characteristics of users makes the process of interpretation of tweets rather challenging. The findings of the current research suggest the necessity to take into account implicit negative attitudes while carrying out the analysis of public opinion on Twitter.

Se rebaten dos tipos de críticas sobre Cuentos de barro (1933), de Salarrué: se cuestionan interpretaciones que identifican a los personajes con los indígenas y los negros reales de El Salvador en las décadas de 1920 y 1930; por otra parte, se disputan las críticas académicas que, a pesar de reconocer el ingrediente inventivo en las representaciones de los personajes, califican la ficción de un acto engañoso. Con el análisis de «El negro», con atención en el discurso metafórico, el realismo de Salarrué es más complejo que el realismo concebido como una copia fiel del mundo real. The study refutes two types of criticism about Cuentos de barro (1933), by Salarrué. It questions interpretations identifying the characters with real indigenous and black people in El Salvador in the 1920s and 1930s. Moreover, it argues against academic criticism which, in spite of acknowledging the non-realistic traits of the characters, describes the fiction as misleading. Through the analysis of “El negro”, with attention to the metaphoric discourse, Salarrué’s realism is viewed as more complex than realism conceived of as a faithful copy of the real world.

Since the discovery of the royal mummies in 1881, and in accordance with the conclusions of the Lansing campaign in 1920, the Royal Cache Wadi (or C2 Valley) on the West Bank at Luxor has been assumed to be archaeologically deserted. Since 2017, the C2 Project of Universidad Complutense of Madrid has returned to the site in order to explore the valley as a whole, not as though it were defined exclusively by the cache tomb TT 320. The results of the Project’s research to date challenge the interpretation of the Wadi either as archaeologically deserted or exclusively as an ancient hiding place, insofar as evidence of human activity indicates that other elements of the valley were significant in antiquity.

Abstract:
Gajewski offers a formal comment on Griffiths et al. (2017), a paper that explored how microclimates and their varying ice cover regimes on lakes and ponds in Arctic regions modified the diatom assemblage responses to recent warming. One of Gajewski’s main criticisms is that the microclimate classification scheme used in Griffiths et al. (2017) is merely anecdotal; a claim which ignores the value of observational evidence and misunderstands the frequency that each site was visited or surveyed. We clarify that the study sites were visited multiple times via recurrent aerial surveys and ground observations dating back to the 1970s, which supports our microclimate classification scheme. Many of Gajewski’s claims regarding climate, catchment characteristics, and ice melting properties from field locations he has not visited were refuted by veteran Arctic scientists with long-term field experience in these regions. In addition, Gajewski makes several criticisms concerning radioisotopic dating, core chronology, sediment mixing, diagenesis, and preservation of bioindicators that relate more to general paleolimnological assumptions than to conclusions reached by Griffiths et al. (2017). Research from the 1980s and 1990s, when scientific consensus on these issues was first reached, readily show that the methodologies and data interpretation of Griffiths et al. (2017) are sound. We appreciate the opportunity to expound on the finer details of the Griffiths et al. (2017) paper, work based on field research by the study’s co-authors spanning almost three decades, with additional observations from colleagues dating back to the 1970s. We address Gajewski’s criticisms with relevant literature, expert statements, and a few clarifying comments.
