Abstract:

At its Annual Meeting in April 1995, the Renaissance Society of America will be honoring the career of Paul Oskar Kristeller, whose international reputation as a Renaissance scholar is well known to this audience. We are all in debt to Kristeller for what he would proudly entitle his “contributions.” These include, among innumerable others, studies on Marsilio Ficino and the classical and scholastic origins of humanism, a multi-volumed catalogue of the uncatalogued manuscripts in European collections (more than a life work all by itself), and reminders in the form of essays, articles and lectures of the need to adjust our theories and our inclinations to what used to be called, in a simpler age, facts.

O cornucótile é um órgão hermafrodita que pode ser formado pelo ovejetor e o duto ejaculador e é um caráter importante na diferenciação das espécies do gênero.

Abstract:

From the outset, the 1905 revolution was a place of conflict of memory revealing the political and social divisions existing in the Polish society. In the interwar period (1918–1939), three “legends” were formed: the left assessed the revolution positively and highlighted the relevance of its experiences, the ruling camp emphasized the independence dimension, and the right strongly criticized the revolution. After 1989 the conflict was renewed. The objective of the right-wing communities and parties influencing the historical policy of the state is to exclude the 1905 revolution from the national tradition and remove its symbols from public space. For the left-wing representatives, who are the minority, the years 1905–1907 are an important collective experience that requires a new interpretation and commemorating.

Abstract:

Cette recherche doctorale étudie les politiques mises en oeuvre par la papauté pour répondre aux défis lancés par la révolution russe. Cette dernière est envisagée autant comme un phénomène intérieur, modifiant les conditions dexistence du catholicisme en Russie, que comme un événement de portée mondiale qui jette sur les routes de l'exode de nombreux réfugiés tout en cherchant à s'étendre dans l'élan de la révolution mondiale. Chronologiquement, l'étude aborde donc une large séquence, qui dépasse les événements de 1917, pour embrasser les profonds changements tant politiques qu'économiques ou culturels qui affectent la Russie de la révolution de 1905 au pacte germano-soviétique (1939). L'étude, fondée sur les archives vaticanes, s'intéresse au traitement des affaires russes au sein de la Curie romaine, de la collecte de l'information au sujet de la Russie aux mécanismes de prise de décision, du domaine diplomatique (négociations officielles ou officieuses avec les représentants russes puis soviétiques) à la création et à la diffusion de dévotions (mouvement de prière catholique pour la Russie). Le croisement avec d'autres sources d'archives publiques (russes et françaises notamment), privées (congrégations) et d'imprimés, permet d'aborder la réception des actions vaticanes pour la Russie, ainsi que les relais utilisés par le Saint-Siège pour diffuser ses projets pour la Russie et les Russes

Abstract:

Pro gradu -tutkielmani aiheena on Metsähallituksen Ranuan hoitoalueen historia vuosina 1905–1939. Ranuan hoitoalue erotettiin vuonna 1905 Iin ja Simon hoitoalueista, yhtä aikaa Ylisimon hoitoalueen kanssa. Hoitoalueen perustamisen syinä olivat halu pienentää hoitoalueiden kokoa, kasvava metsätalous ja tarve saada kruununmetsät parempaan valvontaan. Vuonna 1923 Ranuan ja Ylisimon hoitoalueet yhdistettiin yhdeksi hoitoalueeksi. Yhdistymisen myötä hoitoalueen pinta-ala kaksinkertaistui, kattaen näin 290 000 hehtaarin alueen. Hoitoalueiden yhdistyminen oli merkittävin muutos, joka hoitoaluetta ja sen toimintaa kohtasivat tutkimusaikana. Tutkimuksellani olen halunnut selvittää Metsähallituksen vaikutusta alueen maan ja metsien käyttöön, valvontatyön tehokkuutta sekä metsähallinnon toimia osana ympäröivää yhteisöä. Tutkimukseni keskiössä on Metsähallituksen rooli ja toiminta. Päälähteenäni käytän Ranuan hoitoalueen arkistomateriaalia, jota säilytetään Oulun maakunta-arkistossa. Tutkimusta täydentämään olen käyttänyt myös Metsähallituksen muiden organisaatioiden ja Ranuan kunnan arkistoa. Painettuina lähteinä olen käyttänyt Suomen tilastollista vuosikirjaa sekä Suomen kruununmetsien metsänhoitajille tarkoitettua käsikirjaa vuodelta 1910. Tutkimus perustuu laadulliseen tutkimukseen sekä tilastolliseen esittämiseen. Laajan virallisen kirjemateriaalin ja kertovan aineiston perusteella luon kuvaa metsähallinnon virallisista toimista Ranuan hoitoalueella. Metsähallitus rajoitti alueen väestön perinteistä metsien käyttöä. Näkyvä puuttuminen metsien luvattomaan käyttöön eli haaskaukseen ja perinteisen puukaupan rajoittaminen jättivät jälkensä yhteisön ja metsähallinnon suhteisiin. Metsähallintoa leimasi toiminta lakien ja asetusten mukaan. Tämä vaikutti suuresti ihmisten kuvaan Metsähallituksesta. Aluemetsänhoitajat tiedostivat alueen väestön heikot elinolosuhteet ja pyrkivät toimillaan vaikuttamaan yhteisen edun toteutumiseen. Metsähallitus oli myös Ranuan kunnan suurin veronmaksaja. Ensimmäiset kaksi vuosikymmentä Metsähallitus toimi pelkästään puiden myyjänä. Omien hankintahakkuiden alkamisesta vuonna 1926 seurasi se, että valtiosta tuli nopeasti ainut hoitoalueen metsissä hakkuita suorittanut taho. Hakkuumäärät valtion mailla kasvoivat 1920-luvulla suunnitelluista jopa kaksinkertaisiksi. Valtionmaiden asutustoiminta heikensi 1920- ja 1930-luvuilla Metsähallituksen toimintaedellytyksiä. Aluemetsänhoitajien päätavoite oli lisätä hoitoalueen metsien kysyntää. Tavoitteeseen päästiin vasta hankintahakkuilla ja Simojoen uitto-olosuhteiden parantamisen jälkeen.

Si l'on retourne au texte freudien, si l'on suit simplement l'emploi que Freud fait du mot Geschichte, l'on constate que toutes sortes d'histoires - de malades, du développement, de la religion, de l'humanité - s'emboîtent, se superposent, sans s'annuler au fil de l'œuvre. Ces usages redondants, ces adjectifs, ces mots composés, nous permettent de découvrir certains enjeux et dimensions de la théorisation des psycho-névroses. Notamment, de constater l'importance de l'Entwicklungsgeschichte et de ses rejetons, dans leur rencontre avec les Krankengeschichten.

Abstract:

L'introduction pose une problématique basée sur un constat simple: la séparation des églises et de l'état, entérinée par le vote de la loi en 1905, a constitué un véritable bouleversement pour l'église catholique. Afin de remédier à cette situation, considérée comme néfaste par une majorité des membres du clergé, de nouvelles organisations apparaissent, animées par des clercs et des lai͏̈cs. La problématique de l'ouvrage consiste à analyser les rapports entre ces derniers, dans le cadre d'un diocèse, celui de Poitiers. Cette étude doit permettre de déceler les réactions de la base, peu étudiées jusqu'à maintenant. Apres une première partie qui fait une présentation démographique, économique, politique et religieuse du diocèse, compose des deux départements de la Vienne et des Deux-Sèvres, sont analysées successivement les organisations qui s'occupent de la défense religieuse, de la question sociale, de l'œuvre de presse, de la famille et de la jeunesse, et des amicales et mutuelles. Le bilan de cette étude fait apparaître quatre apports essentiels: - la singularité du diocèse de Poitiers dans le domaine de la presse et du syndicalisme enseignant. - les tensions dans les relations entre clercs et lai͏̈cs. - le rôle émergent des femmes dans les organisations. - la confirmation de l'hétérogénéité du diocèse
The introduction presents a theme based on the simple observation of a situation : the separation of the Church and the State, confirmed by the vote of the 1905 law, initiated a real disruption for the catholic church. In order to remedy this situation which was considered as harmful to a majority of the members of the Clergy, new organizations were born, run by clerics and laymen. The theme of the thesis consists of analyzing the relationships between these people in the diocese of Poitiers. This analysis enables the reader to understand their reactions, which have been scarcely studied so far. The first part presents the demographic, economical, political and religious situation of the diocese of Poitiers, in its two departments : Vienne and Deux-Sèvres. The next part of the thesis focuses on the organizations dea1ing with the religious defence, the social problem, the press publications, the family and the youth, the associations and the insurance companies. This analysis brings to the fore four essential facts : - The peculiarity of the diocese of Poitiers concerning the press and the teachers unions. - The tense relationships between clerics and laymen. - The rising part played by women in the organizations. - The different features of the diocese varying from one place to another

A presente pesquisa diz respeito ao processo de modernização da cidade de Campo Grande, entre os anos de 1905 a 1939. Trata, mais especificamente, de como o desenvolvimento citadino, impulsionado pela construção da Ferrovia Noroeste do Brasil, resultou na composição de uma elite política formada por dois grupos: os pecuaristas, detentores de capital econômico, e os ―doutores,‖ que chegaram à localidade atraídos pelas possibilidades de ascensão política e vantagens econômicas advindas com os trilhos. Assim, a análise aqui apresentada buscou compreender de que maneira, no (re)arranjo das elites campo-grandenses, foram fomentadas políticas de ordenamento do espaço, como os Códigos de Posturas de 1905 e de 1921 e o Plano de Alinhamento de Ruas e Praças, que serviram para assentar os distintos agentes sociais, em especial os grupos marginalizados
This research refers to the modernization process of the city of Campo Grande between the years 1905 and 1939. It shows, more specifically, how the city development, driven by the construction of Ferrovia Noroeste do Brasil, resulted in the composition of a political elite formed by two groups: the ranchers, owners of economic capital, and doctors, who came to the city attracted by the possibilities of political rise and economic advantages resulted of the rails. Thus, the analysis presented here was to understand how in the (re) arrangement of campo-grandense elites were promoted spatial planning policies, such as the Posture Codes of 1905 and 1921 and the Alignment Plan of Streets and Squares, which served to lay the different social agents, in particular marginalized groups
La presente investigación ahonda en el proceso de modernización de la ciudad de Campo Grande, en un periodo de tiempo comprendido desde el año 1905 hasta 1939. El estudio se centra, más específicamente, en el desarrollo de la ciudad impulsado por la construcción del Ferrocarril del Noroeste de Brasil, que dio lugar a la composición de una élite política formada por dos grupos: los ganaderos, poseedores de capital económico y los llamados doctores. Ambos llegaron a la ciudad atraídos por las posibilidades de ascenso político y las ventajas económicas resultantes por el nuevo canal ferroviario. Abstract:

Cette thèse étudie l'histoire des femmes à travers un sport, la natation, en France. Le récit ordonné thématiquement se veut à la fois politique, social et culturel, des origines, marquées par la première participation d'une femme à une compétition de natation en 1905, à l'année 1939, synonyme de bouleversements en matière de politique sportive. L'analyse historique, basée sur de nombreux périodiques, ouvrages et sur quelques fonds d'archives, fait apparaître une ambivalence. Tour à tour, la pratique de la natation montre des signes émancipateurs à l'égard des femmes ( par exemple, les nageuses sont les premières à participer officiellement aux Jeux Olympiques, elles intègrent rapidement les institutions sportives françaises, les associations sportives de femmes voient naître une sociabilité émancipatrice ). Mais la natation peut se révéler conservatrice ( par exemple, marginalisation à l'intérieur des institutions, respect des normes de genre, mise à l'écart des femmes dans les innovations techniques ).

Abstract:

Tämä tutkimus käsittelee kansainvälisen polaarivuoden 1932–1933 aikana toimineen Petsamon magneettisen observatorion havaintotuloksia. Mukana on lyhyt katsaus polaarivuoden aikana ja sen jälkeen uudella suomalaisella meteorologisella radiosondilla tehdyistä kokeista 1930-luvun lopulla. Näitä kahta aihepiiriä yhdistää FM Mauri Tommila (1905–1971), joka toimi Petsamon observatorion johtajana ja joka sen jälkeen osallistui merkittävällä panoksella yhdessä Vilho Väisälän kanssa radiosondin kehittelyyn 1934–1939. Sondi valmistui operatiivisen sääpalvelun käyttöön vuonna 1936. Väisälän sondia testattiin vuosina 1937 ja 1939 Huippuvuorilla ja Atlantilla. Molemmissa retkikunnissa Tommila oli mukana. Petsamon observatorio oli yksi Suomen geofysikaalisen tiedeyhteisön kontribuutioista polaarivuoden tutkimus- ja havainto-ohjelmiin. Sen päätehtävä oli rekisteröidä maan magneettikentän vaihteluja jatkuvasti toimivilla laitteilla ajan havaintokäytäntöjen mukaisesti. Päävastuu observatorion toiminnoista oli Suomalaisella Tiedeakatemialla ja sen Sodankylän observatoriolla. Tarvittavat rekisteröintilaitteet oli hankittu Tanskan meteorologiselta laitokselta ja ne edustivat aikansa mittausteknologista huippua. Observatorio oli myös Ilmatieteen laitoksen tärkeä havainto- ja koeasema polaarivuoden ohjelmassa. Polaarivuoden havainto-ohjelman ja laiterakennuksien suunnittelun olivat tehneet Sodankylän magneettisen observatorion johtaja Eyvind Sucksdorff (1899–1955) ja Ilmatieteen laitoksen johtaja Jaakko Keränen (1883–1979). Keränen oli Sodankylän magneettisen observatorion ensimmäinen johtaja 1913–1917 (Nevanlinna, 2014). Petsamon observatorio sijaitsi lähellä Pohjoisen jäämeren rannikkoa Petsamojoen suistossa. Petsamo on nykyään Venäjän hallinnoimaa aluetta. Petsamon magneettinen observatorio oli toiminnassa 13 kuukautta 1.8.1932–31.8.1933 välisen ajan. Rekisteröintitulokset tieteelliseen käyttöön muodostuivat alan käytännön mukaisista magneettikentän eri komponenttien tuntikeskiarvoista. Mauri Tommila julkaisi tulokset taulukkojen muodossa yhdessä tarvittavien metadatatietojen kanssa kansainväliseen tutkimuskäyttöön (Tommila, 1937a). Tässä julkaisussa on yhteenveto tehdyistä magneettikentän mittauksista. Vertailu Sodankylässä tehtyihin samanaikaisiin rekisteröintituloksiin osoittavat, että Petsamon observatorion rekisteröintitulokset ovat olleet korkeatasoisia ja että julkaistu aineisto on tieteellisiin analyyseihin käyttökelpoista. Kaikki Suomen vanhat historialliset magneettiset rekisteröintiaineistot ovat nyt digitoitu Petsamon aineiston valmistuttua. Vanhin niistä on Helsingin magneettisen observatorion havainnot 1844–1910. Petsamon observatorioon rinnastuu Sodankylän magneettiseen ja meteorologiseen observatorioon polaarivuodelta 1882– 1883. Myös sen magneettiset ja meteorologiset havainnot uudelleen julkaisu ja digitoitu (Nevanlinna, 2017a).
