The first Russian publication of the chapter from: Die großen Pianoforte-Virtuosen unserer Zeit aus persönlicher Bekanntschaft: Liszt, Chopin, Tausig, Henselt (Berlin, 1872) by Wilhelm von Lenz. It is devoted to Carl Tausig (1841–71) — one of the most prominent 19th century piano virtuosos, Liszts favorite apprentice, whose historical significance is still neglected in modern publications on piano playing. The introducing article contains biographical information on both — Carl Tausig and Wilhelm von Lenz (1809–83), Russian music critic, author of the notorious Beethoven studies.

Abstract:
The normal field soil environment safeguarded, via indigenous microbes in a native manner, with the aim of turning herbicide waste into productive bio-resources, through fungi activities. This study aims to determine the effective role of soil indigenous fungi on 2,4-D herbicide degradation. The research was conducted over a period of six weeks, on Iraqi cereal field. A total of eight fungi species, belonging to six genera, (Aspergillus candidus L. ATCC 1002, A. niger T. ATCC 16888, Curvularia lunata W. B1933, Penicillium sp. L. 1809, Rhizopus stolonifer L. B9770, Stachybotrys atra C. 1837, Trichoderma harzianum R. IOC 3844, and T. lignorum T. Hartz 1872), were isolated from the soil. During the exposure periods, fungal populations were differently affected, upon treatments with herbicide. The applied herbicide treatments showed different effects on growth and development of the isolated fungi. The results showed that, five of the eight fungi species (C. lunata B1933, Penicillium sp. 1809, R. stolonifer B9770, T. harzianum IOC 3844, and T. lignorum Hartz 1872) were greatly enhanced by the treatment process. However, two fungi (S. atra 1837, and A. candidus ATCC 1002) were affected negatively by the herbicide, while one (A. niger ATCC 16888) remained unaffected. Once extracted from the soil of wheat fields in Iraq, the fungus S. atra 1837, was first isolated. The highest inhibitory effect was caused by 2,4-D herbicide, on the toxigenic fungus S. atra, causing its disappearance from the field at the last week of application. The laboratory experiments showed similar herbicide effects on the isolated fungi at low and moderate levels, while those at the high level (800 µg /ml) were toxic. These results showed that the herbicide 2,4-D treatments have substantial effects on microbial population in the field. When applied at recommended field rate, the herbicide causes transient impacts on fungal population growth and biodiversity, with the majority of the organism becoming responsible for 2,4-D mineralization in the soil. Therefore, the use of 2,4-D herbicide does not only control weed population, but it also affects microbial activities, especially indigenous fungi in the soil.

Zusammenfassung Adolph Friedrich Riedel (1809–1872) förderte die Erforschung der brandenburgischen Landesgeschichte vor allem durch die Edition der mittelalterlichen Quellen zur Geschichte der Mark Brandenburg in seinem seit 1838 erscheinenden vielbändigen ‚Codex diplomaticus Brandenburgensis‘. Als er in der Revolution von 1848/49 dessen Fortsetzung gefährdet glaubte, wandte er sich an die Königlich Preußische Akademie der Wissenschaften in der Hoffnung, mit deren Unterstützung die Zukunft seines Lebenswerkes dauerhaft sichern zu können: Sie solle für den Fall seines vor Vollendung des Codex erfolgenden Todes seine handschriftlichen Materialsammlungen und Quellenabschriften verwahren und zudem die Verantwortung für den Abschluss der Editionsarbeiten übernehmen. In seinem erbetenen Gutachten wiederholte Leopold Ranke seine Ablehnung von Riedels Volltextedition anstelle der von ihm bevorzugten (Voll-)Regesten. In der Abstimmung der Philosophisch-Historischen Klasse setzte sich allerdings die Auffassung durch, die Akademie sei grundsätzlich an der Vollendung des Codex interessiert, vorbehaltlich der Bereitstellung der dafür erforderlichen Mittel, aber dazu möge Riedel erst einmal seine Wünsche äußern – was er im Folgenden offenbar nicht tat.

Como é sabido, a obra mais conhecida de Charles Robert Darwin (1809-1882) é o Origin of species (1859) que teve seis edições. Contudo, ele publicou também outras obras, dentre elas, The expression of the emotions in man and animals (1872). Nesta obra, ele tratou de aspectos comportamentais de antepassados primitivos do homem e outros animais, segundo os mecanismos evolutivos propostos no Origin of species (1859). O objetivo do presente artigo é discutir sobre alguns aspectos relacionados à mesma. Nesse sentido, comentaremos brevemente sobre seu conteúdo, traduções, edições e alguns desdobramentos posteriores. Este estudo levou à conclusão de que The expression of the emotions in man and animals foi relevante no conjunto de obras de Darwin, considerando a grande quantidade de impressões e traduções para os diferentes idiomas dessa obra. Além disso, levando em conta a repercussão das ideias nela contidas em estudos posteriores como aqueles feitos por Konrad Lorenz (1903-1989) e Nikolaas Tinbergen (1907-1988) e suas contribuições para a emergência da disciplina Etologia, voltada ao estudo do comportamento animal, na década de 1960.

Abstract We have documented quarries in Miocene limestone in the Vienna Basin (Austria), Hundsheim Mountains, Leitha Mountains and Rust Hills in high-resolution airborne laser scanning data and orthophotos aiming for a diachronic quarry inventory since the Roman period. The study region was divided into 6 quarry regions and the quarries of the whole study area as well as each separate region were analyzed concerning different rock types, mean, minimum and maximum quarry area and development in the different maps. Age information have been sought from historical maps, historical photography and paintings as well as quarry face graffiti. In total, 658 quarries, possible quarries and shallow quarries have been outlined in the detailed digital terrain models, which were compared with 453 quarries indicated in four generations of historical maps between the years 1754 to 1872. The numbers of quarries are generally low in the Walter map (1754–1756), the First Military Survey (1773–1785) and Second Military Survey (1809–1846) but increase tremendously in the maps of the Third Military Survey (1872–1873). Most old quarries were quarried also in subsequent periods, commonly destroying virtually all pre-existing traces. According to our results two types of quarries represent highly interesting targets for more detailed studies in the search for Roman quarries: (i) areas in historical maps with suspicious uneven terrain, which have never been outlined as quarries and areas that have been mapped as “old quarries” – especially in the Third Military Survey; examples represent areas northwest and west of Pfaffenberg in Bad Deutsch-Altenburg (Lower Austria), “Gruibert” in Winden am See (Burgenland) and “Hoher Berg” in Stotzing (Burgenland); (ii) Shallow quarries, which neither appear in historical maps nor in the mining archive of the Geological Survey of Austria like the one from the saddle between Pfaffenberg and Hundsheimer Berg.

Desde los procesos independentistas de 1809-1825, la Universidad Mayor, Real y Pontificia de San Francisco Xavier de Chuquisaca; formó la nueva burocracia administrativa que organizaría el Estado Boliviano, en especial la abogacía durante la primera la mitad del s. XIX. La Universidad fue en su manejo, tanto administrativo como académico, una continuación del modelo que dejó la Corona. Es durante el gobierno del presidente Tomas Frías, en 1872, que se aplicaría una reforma académica reconociendo la importancia de la formación superior para el progreso, así como la subvención económica del Estado y la dependencia administrativa al Ministerio de Instrucción. En este periodo se formó y se graduó Valentín Abecia Ayllon, en la inestable Facultad de Medicina, a la que años después terminaría organizándola con una amplitud de enfoques académicos; que van del romanticismo científico y del D ̈Orbinygsismo, imperante en las elites económicas; para pasar luego por otras corrientes teóricas y recalar en el positivismo y su “fe ciega” en la Educación como factor de modernización. Este es el antecedente del profesor y catedrático que ejerció varias veces de autoridad académica y política, marcando un estereotipo del buen ciudadano, profesional y político que la sociedad, y en este caso la universidad, esperaba.

<span>The architectural and spatial environment of the city is an important part of the cultural heritage, a carrier of information about its formation. The life cycle of a diverse architectural environment forms a series of stages - from the concept-creation-realization-alterations-degradation and, finally, partial or complete loss. The main idea, the scenario of modeling the environment-phenomenon of Odessa was in the priority development of culture. The construction of the first City Theater in 1809 on the plateau of the coastal zone determined the formation of a system of rhythmically iridescent spaces of a social center. An analog of the ancient forum - “Odessa Acropolis or Odessa Agora” - was created at the intersection of Lanzheronovskaya and Rishelevskaya (Decumanus and Cardin) streets in full accordance with the recommendations of Vitruvius. After the theater was destroyed by fire in 1872, the project of the new theater was developed by the Viennese architects F. Fellner and H. Helmer. The size of the new Opera and Ballet Theater for 1,728 seats significantly exceeded the volume of the former, and the main planning axis of the theater was changed by 90 degrees (1884–1887). This actually became an act of destruction and the loss of the original intention of the script by architect G. Toricelli on the formation of the solemn “Road of Processions”. Elements of the architectural environment of the cultural center gradually adapted to the new changes. The process of the evolution of the environment often creates more contradictions and problems than it solves. The problem lies not only in avoiding alterations and losses but in how to preserve the value-psychological core of culture.</span>

Abstract Heavy snowfall and extreme snow depth cause serious losses of human life and property in the northern Tianshan Mountains almost every winter. Snow cover is an important indicator of climate change. In this study, we developed five tree-ring-width chronologies of Schrenk spruce (Picea schrenkiana Fisch. et Mey) from the northern Tianshan Mountains using standard dendrochronological methods. Correlation analyses indicated that radial growth of trees in the northern Tianshan Mountains is positively affected by annual maximum snow depth. This relationship was validated and models of annual maximum snow depth back to the 18th century were developed. The reconstruction explains 48.3% of the variance in the instrumental temperature records during the 1958/59–2003/04 calibration periods. It indicates that quasi-periodic changes exist on 2.0–4.0-yr, 5.3-yr, 14.0-yr, and 36.0-yr scales. The reconstructed series shows that maximum snow depth exhibits obvious stages change, the periods characterized by lower maximum snow depth were 1809/10–1840/41, 1873/74–1893/94, 1909/10–1929/30, 1964/65–1981/82, and the periods characterized by higher maximum snow depth were 1841/42–1872/73, 1894/95–1908/09, 1930/31–1963/64, and 1982/83–present. The lower period of annual maximum snow depth during the 1920s–1930s is consistent with the severe drought that occurred at this time in northern China. From the 1970s to the present, the maximum snow depth has increased clearly with the change to a warmer and wetter climate in Xinjiang. The reconstruction sheds new light on snow cover variability and change in a region where the climate history for the past several centuries is poorly understood.

Abstract:
The mitochondrial DNA COI barcode segment sequenced from American Anthocharis specimens across their distribution ranges partitions them into four well-separated species groups and reveals different levels of differentiation within these groups. The lanceolata group experienced the deepest divergence. About 2.7% barcode difference separates the two species: A. lanceolata Lucas, 1852 including A. lanceolata australis (F. Grinnell, 1908), from A. desertolimbus J. Emmel, T. Emmel & Mattoon, 1998. The sara group consists of three species distinctly defined by more than 2% sequence divergence: A. sara Lucas, 1852, A. julia W. H. Edwards, 1872, and A. thoosa (Scudder, 1878). Our treatment is fully consistent with morphological evidence largely based on the characters of fifth instar larvae and pupal cone curvature (Stout, 2005, 2018). In barcodes, it is not possible to see evidence of introgression or hybridization between the three species, and identification by morphology of immature stages always agrees with DNA barcode identification. Interestingly, A. thoosa exhibited the largest intraspecific divergence in DNA barcodes, and several of its metapopulations are identifiable by haplotypes. The cethura group is characterized by the smallest divergence and is best considered as a single species variable in expression of yellow coloration: A cethura C. Felder & R. Felder, 1865. Notably, the most sexually dimorphic subspecies A. cethura morrisoni W. H. Edwards, 1881 is the most distinct by the barcodes. Finally, the midea group barcodes do not always separate A. midea (Hübner, [1809]) and A. limonea (A. Butler, 1871) and we observe gradual accumulation of differences from north (northeastern USA) to south (Hidalgo, Mexico). This barcode gradient suggests a recent origin of the two midea group species and provides another example of vicariant sister species well defined by morphology, ecology and geography, but not necessarily by DNA barcodes.

Abstract:
The nest of Furnarius rufus (Gmelin, 1788) [Aves: Furnariidae] is a domed mud structure, with a partition separating the breeding chamber from the outside. In general each couple builds one nest per year, but each nest is used for one clutch or two consecutive clutches in the same breeding season. Some nests can remain in the field for 2 or 3 years, but some had a longer permanence (up to more than 8 years). Thus the nests are widely used by other vertebrate inquilines. Insects found in nests of F. rufus mentioned in the literature belong to Coleoptera [Chrysomelidae (1 sp.), Histeridae (1 sp.)], Hemiptera [Cimicidae (1 sp.), Reduviidae: Triatominae (1 sp.)], Hymenoptera [Apidae: Meliponinae (1 sp.)], and Diptera [Muscidae (2 spp.)]. A total of 9 orders, 35 families (two unidentified), and 67 species of insects (including 14 identified to genus and 10 undetermined), were found in 251 nests of F. rufus sampled in Argentina (Chaco [6], Córdoba [14], Santa Fe [2], Entre Ríos [7], San Luis [1], La Pampa [12], and Buenos Aires [209]). The most abundant species was one hematophagous insect, Acanthocrios furnarii (Cordero & Vogelsang, 1928) [Hemiptera: Cimicidae], an exclusive parasite on the inquiline birds. Agelaioides badius badius (Vieillot, 1819) [Aves: Icteridae], Sicalis flaveola pelzelni Sclater, 1872 [Aves: Emberizidae], and Troglodytes aedon Vieillot, 1809 [Aves: Troglodytidae] are new hosts of A. furnarii. Progne chalybea (Gmelin, 1789) [Aves: Hirundinidae] was found for the first time infested by A. furnarii inside the nests of F. rufus. The insects in the nests of Furnarius cristatus Burmeister, 1888, and those of P. domesticus, Progne sp., S. f. pelzelni, and T. aedon outside the nests of F. rufus were also investigated. Some ticks (Acarina: Argasidae, Ixodidae) found in the nests of F. rufus and P. domesticus are mentioned.

An attempt to compare Russian Tsar Alexander I was the head of the Grand Duchy of Finland, which the Russian army captured in 1809 as a result of the Russo-Swedish war. The final act of the Congress of Vienna of June 1815 decided to establish the Kingdom of Poland. Beside the title of Grand Duke of Finland tsar, Alexander I was awarded the title of the King of Poland. From that moment on, for over one hundred years, the fate of the Grand Duchy of Finland and the Kingdom of Poland was intertwined during the rule of five Russian tsars. The aim of this paper is to answer the question whether two different ways on the road to independence – romantic Polish way with national uprisings, and pragmatic Finnish, relative loyal to the Russian tsars – had an impact on their policy towards both nations. The Kingdom of Poland and the Duchy of Finland were autonomous, were in a personal union with Russian tsars, had their own constitutions, parliaments, armies, monetary systems and educational structures, and official activities were held in Polish (Polish Kingdom) and Swedish (in the Grand Duchy of Finland). Both countries also had their own universities. The first national uprising in the Kingdom of Poland, which broke out in November 1830, resulted in a wave of repression. The Constitution was replaced by the so-called The Organic Statute, the Sejm (the Parliament) and the independent army were liquidated. The Kingdom was occupied by the mighty Russian army, and in 1833 martial law was introduced. The second national uprising of January 1863 led to another wave of repression and intensive Russification of Polish territories. In 1867, the autonomy of the Kingdom of Poland, its name and budget were abolished. From 1872 the Polish language was only an optional choice. After 1863, the policy of the Russian authorities changed towards the Grand Duchy. A session of the Finnish parliament (Eduskunta) was convened for the first time since 1809, the new parliamentary law allowed the dissemination of the Finnish language. After the deadly assault on Alexander II in 1881, his son Alexander III made attempts to limit also Finland’s autonomy. The years 1899–1904 were called the first period of Russification in Finland (“the first period of oppression”). The Manifesto of June 1900 introduced obligatory Russian language in correspondence of officials with Russia. In 1901, the national Finnish army was liquidated. In Russia this was the beginning of the process of the empire’s unification into one cultural, political and economic system. After a short thaw as a result of the 1905 revolution in Russia, the Grand Duchy of Finland, the so-called “second period of oppression” and anti-Finnish politics took place. During the great war of 1914–1918, the Grand Duchy was on the side of Russia. The territories of the former Kingdom of Poland were under German rule since 1915. After the outbreak of the revolution in Russia, the Eduskunta (on 6 December 1917) passed a Declaration of Independence. After a short period of regency, on 19 July 1919, the Finns adopted the republican system with a parliamentary form of government. On 11 November 1918 Germany surrendered on the Western Front. On that day, the Regency Council in Warsaw handed over military authority to the Polish Legion commander Józef Piłsudski. Although Poland still had to fight for the final shape of the state, the 11th of November 1918 is considered the first day of recovered Polish independence.

Difere da espécie já conhecida no comprimento e forma dos retroestiletes e na ornamentação das pernas.

The Diptera genus-group names of Camillo Rondani are reviewed and annotated. A total of 601 nomenclaturally available genus-group names in 82 families of Diptera are listed alphabetically. For each name the following are given: author, year and page of original publication, originally included species [and first included species if none were originally included], type species and method of fixation, current status of the name, family placement, and a list of any emendations of it that have been found in the literature. Remarks are given to clarify nomenclatural or taxonomic information. In addition, an index is provided to all the species-group names of Diptera proposed by Rondani (1,236, of which 1,183 are available) with bibliographic reference to each original citation. Appended to this study is a full bibliography of Rondani’s works and a list with explanations for all new synonymies arising from revised emendations. AbstractThe teacher of physical education, became in the course of the years, a professional valued by society, in such a way that, currently integrates multidisciplinary teams in the single system of health-SUS, and through its interdisciplinary approach, comes gaining more and more space. For this purpose, the objective of this research is to analyze the training offered in the course of undergraduate degree in physical education at Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú. For this, this study has as methodology the field research and exploratory, because it has as focus the information and/or knowledge about a problem or situation, seeking answers to either, or proving assumptions, discovering new phenomena or the Relations between them. The scenario of this research was the Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú, in particular, interviews with the faculty of the Physical Education course of the aforementioned University in the year 2017. From the findings, the profile of these teachers was observed: men, aged between 41 and 50 years, masters, graduated in physical education from the Universidade de Fortaleza, sought a master's degree or doctorate in the area of health, have between 20 to 29 experience in Higher education and have between one to five years of experience in the university cited it is believed that the concept of health exerts influence in the training of the professionals of physical education, and other attitudes are necessary for the modification of the framework found. In this way, it is understood that the initial formation of those involved did not prepare them to address the thematic health in the school.ResumoO professor de Educação Física, tornou-se no decorrer dos anos, um profissional valorizado pela sociedade, de tal modo que, atualmente integra equipes multidisciplinares no Sistema Único de Saúde - SUS, e através de sua abordagem interdisciplinar, vem conquistando cada vez mais espaço. Com este intuito, o objetivo dessa pesquisa é analisar a formação oferecida no curso de Licenciatura em Educação Física da Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú. Para tanto, este estudo tem como metodologia a pesquisa de campo e exploratória, pois tem como foco as informações e/ou conhecimentos sobre um problema ou situação, buscando respostas para tanto, ou comprovando pressupostos, descobrindo novos fenômenos ou as relações entre eles. O cenário desta pesquisa foi a Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú, em específico, entrevistas com os docentes do curso de Educação Física da referida universidade, no ano de 2017. A partir dos achados, observou-se o perfil destes professores: homens, com idades entre 41 e 50 anos, mestres, formados em Educação Física pela Universidade de Fortaleza, com mestrado ou doutorado na área da Saúde, têm entre 20 a 29 anos de experiência no Ensino Superior e possuem entre um a cinco anos de experiência na Universidade citada. Acredita-se que o conceito de saúde exerça influência na formação dos profissionais de Educação Física, sendo necessárias outras atitudes para a modificação do quadro encontrado.
