Abstract:
The present study describes the beneficial effects of potential probioticE. coli16 (pUC8:16gfp) expressingVitreoscillahemoglobin (vgb) gene, associated with bacterial respiration under microaerobic condition, on gastrointestinal (GI) colonization and its antioxidant activity on carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) induced toxicity in Charles Foster rats.In vitro, catalase activity inE. coli16 (pUC8:16gfp) was 1.8 times higher compared toE. coli16 (pUC-gfp) control. In vivo,E. coli16 (pUC8:16gfp) not only was recovered in the fecal matter after 70 days of oral administration but also retained antibacterial activities, whereasE. coli16 (pUC-gfp) was not detected. Oral administration of 200 and 500 μL/kg body weight of CCl4to rats at weekly interval resulted in elevated serum glutamyl pyruvate transaminase (SGPT) and serum glutamyl oxalacetate transaminase (SGOT) levels compared to controls. Rats prefed withE. coli16 (pUC8:16gfp) demonstrated near to normal levels for SGPT and SGOT, whereas the liver homogenate catalase activity was significantly increased compared to CCl4treated rats. Thus, pUC8:16gfpplasmid encodingvgbimproved the growth and GI tract colonization ofE. coli16. In addition, it also enhanced catalase activity in rats harboringE. coli16 (pUC8:16gfp), thereby preventing the absorption of CCl4to GI tract.

Abstract:
The paper describes the properties of Ti, Nickel-based, and Al2O3 powder coatings obtained through a new method of powder acceleration which allows to achieve the powder velocity of 1400m/s. The Ti-based coatings thus formed have nanocrystal and amorphous structure with nanodispersed ceramic compounds inclusions, and show the hardness of up to 16GPa, high plasticity and adhesion strength. The Nickel-based alloy coatings display both nanocrystal and amorphous structure. In ceramic Al2O3 coatings high spraying velocity allows filling in the space between the deformed oxide particles (about 0.053 microns in size) by nanocrystal and amorphous phases; thus, the coatings acquire a high degree of plasticity retaining high hardness of 1320 HV0.3 with the porosity below 0.5%. The Al2O3 coatings were tested and found effective for covering the surface of porous metal matrixes in burners.

Abstract:
Reliability of indentation method in carbon nanotube reinforced ceramics had been proposed in some works, especially of indentation toughness. In this work the traditional indentation hardness of the Multi-wall carbon Nanotube reinforced alumina composites was studied. It is found that the Vickers hardness and nanoindentation hardness of MWNT reinforced alumina fabricated by SPS decreased from about 20GPa to 16GPa at a critical load force about 1kg. While pure alumina showed a Vickers hardness of 20.6GPa in the whole load force range. When the load force or displacement into surface increasing, continuous recorded hardness, contact stiffness and modulus of the MWNT reinforced alumina showed quite different behavior compared with the pure alumina, especially at middle period of indentation. It was believed that different properties in vertical and horizontal directions of the MWNT were the key. MWNT was compressed and deformed as a soften component in the whole indentation processing. And tensile stress caused by MWNT in composite became significant until an enough strain attained and decreased when a critical stress was over. The results mean the definition of hardness or similar ones seemed need deep description in this type of material.

Abstract:
Wireless communication technologies continue to evolve to meet the demand for increased data throughput. To achieve higher data throughput one approach is to increase the bandwidth. One problem related to very large bandwidths is the implementation of digital-to-analog converters with sampling rates roughly in the 5 to 20 GHz range. Traditionally, current-steering data converters have been the go-to choice but their linearity suffers at higher frequencies. An alternative to the current-steering digital-to-analog converter is the voltage-mode digital-to-analog converter, which is an attractive option for integration into digital intensive application-specific integrated circuits due to its digital-in-nature architecture. In this thesis, a resistive voltage-mode digital-to-analog converter with an integrated low-dropout voltage regulator is proposed for a sampling rate of 16 GSps. The proposed resistive voltage-mode digital-to-analog converter with an output impedance matched to a 100 Ω load, achieves a spurious-free dynamic range of 64 dBc and intermodulation distortion of 66 dBc for output frequencies up to 5.5 GHz in the worst process corner.
