Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Perumahan Graha Mustamindo 3 Rt. 09 Desa Rimbo Panjang dengan pertimbangan bahwa Perumahan GrahaMustamindo 3 Rt. 09 tersebut merupakan daerah yang banyak lansia. Populasi dalam penelitianini adalah seluruh Lansia yang ada di Perumahan Graha Mustamindo 3 Rt. 09 Desa Rimbo Panjang yaitu sebanyak 35 KK. jumlah sampel dalam penelitian adalah 35 responden agar dapatmenggambarkan kualitas hidup pada lansia di Perumahan Graha Mustamindo 3 Rt. 09 DesaRimbo Panjang. Teknik pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini adalah sampling jenuh yaitumengambil semua anggota populasi menjadi sampel. Penelitian ini merupakan deskriptif dimana data penelitian didapat dengan membagikan kuesioner kepada 35 orang lansia di Perumahan Graha Mustamindo 3 RT 09 Desa Rimbo Panjang. Berdasarkan analisa univariat diperoleh kualitas hidup lansia di Perumahan Graha Mustamindo 3 RT 09 Desa Rimbo Panjang sebanyak 28 lansia (76,5%) mempersepsikan kualitas hidupnya baik, 5 lansia (21,0%) mempersepsikan kualitas hidupnya sedang, 1 lansia (1,2%) mempersepsikan kualitas hidupnya buruk, dan 1 lansia (1,2%) mempersepsikan dirinya sangat buruk.

Abstract:

The present study aimed to isolate some proteins from placenta of Mongolian mares and measure their concentrations using ELISA test kits. In order to achieve this aim, a total of 12 variants of protein isolation experiments in triplicates were performed to isolate proteins from each homogenates, which were obtained with 3 methods of tissue homogenizations of placental tissue of Mongolian mare using distilled water, phosphate buffer saline and Tris-HCl, by use of 4 methods of protein extraction and precipitation with distilled water, sulfate ammonium salt and organic solvents such as ethanol and acetone. Molecular weights of proteins isolated using above variants of methods or a total of 36 samples determined by SDS polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis demonstrated the bands of proteins with molecular weights ranging from 1,060 to 26,600 dalton were clearly detected on the electrophoregram, and 1083.9 to 5747.2 μg/ml total proteins in all samples were measured by Pierce BCA assay kit. Results of ELISA measurements of placental protein 13 (PP13) and placental growth factor (PlGF) in samples that PP13 and PlGF concentrations in both extracts, one of which were homogenized in PBS, followed by ethanol precipitation and another, homogenized in distilled water, followed by acetone precipitation were 34.4±9.2 and 34.9±1.3 pg/ml and 469.4±46.9 and 404.7±153.9 pg/ml respectively demonstrated extracts containing higher amounts of biologically active proteins can be obtained by using methods of homogenization of tissues extracted in PBS or distilled water and precipitation with organic solvents. Abstract:

Blood loss during hepatic surgery leads to poor patient outcomes. This study investigates the hemostatic efficacy of a novel sealing hemostatic pad (polyethylene glycol-coated collagen, PCC) and a fibrin sealant pad (fibrin-thrombin coated collagen, FTC) in a leporine hepatic segmentectomy and a porcine hepatic abrasion model. A segmentectomy was used to compare hemostatic success and hematoma incidence in 20 rabbits (10/group). Hepatic abrasions were used to compare hemostatic success up to 10 min after application in six pigs (42 lesions/group). In the segmentectomy model, PCC achieved 100% hemostatic success within 2 min (95% CI: 72.3% to 100%) and FTC achieved 80% hemostatic success within 3 min (49.0% to 94.3%). PCC had lower hematoma incidence at 15 min (0.0 versus 11.1%) and 24 h (20.0 versus 66.7%). In the abrasion model, PCC provided superior hemostatic success at 3 (odds ratio: 24.8, 95% CI: 8.86 to 69.2, P<0.001), 5 (66.3, 28.5 to 153.9, P<0.001), 7 (177.5, 64.4 to 489.1, P<0.001), and 10 min (777.6, 148.2 to 4078, P<0.001) leading to statistically significant less blood loss. The novel sealing hemostat provides faster and more sustained hemostasis than a fibrin sealant pad in a leporine hepatic segmentectomy and a porcine hepatic abrasion model of hepatic surgery.

Abstract:

Background: CHAMPION-NMOSD (NCT04201262) is an ongoing global, open-label, phase 3 study evaluating ravulizumab in AQP4+ NMOSD. Methods: Adult patients received an intravenous, weight-based loading dose of ravulizumab on day 1 and a maintenance dose on day 15 and every 8 weeks thereafter. Following a primary treatment period (PTP; up to 2.5 years), patients could enter a long-term extension (LTE). Results: 58 patients completed the PTP; 56/2 entered/completed the LTE. As of June 16, 2023, median (range) follow-up was 138.4 (11.0-183.1) weeks for ravulizumab (n=58), with 153.9 patient-years. Across the PTP and LTE, no patients had an adjudicated on-trial relapse during ravulizumab treatment. 91.4% (53/58 patients) had stable or improved Hauser Ambulation Index score. 91.4% (53/58 patients) had no clinically important worsening in Expanded Disability Status Scale score. The incidence of treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs) and serious adverse events was 94.8% and 25.9%, respectively. Most TEAEs were mild to moderate in severity and unrelated to ravulizumab. TEAEs leading to withdrawal from ravulizumab occurred in 1 patient. Conclusions: Ravulizumab demonstrated long-term clinical benefit in the prevention of relapses in AQP4+ NMOSD with a safety profile consistent with prior analyses.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengilustrasikan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang telah diimplementasikan oleh Tim Dosen Fakultas Bisnis Universitas Buddhi Dharma yang mengambil topik ekonomi lingkungan. Dalam rangka menjalankan salah satu fungsi tridharma tersebut, Tim Dosen Universitas Buddhi Dharma didukung oleh Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Pemerintah Kota Tangerang dalam implementasi program pemberdayaan masyarakat di Kelurahan Periuk RW 09. Adapun tema pada pengabdian masyarakat, yakni pengelolaan limbah rumah tangga berupa limbah makanan menjadi minuman yang sehat dan memiliki nilai Ekonomi. Berdasarkan program pengabdian pada masyarakat, terdapat beberapa identifikasi masalah, yakni sebagai berikut : (1) Warga RW 09 Kelurahan Periuk belum memiliki pengetahuan mengenai ekonomi sirkular dan pengolahan limbah rumah tangga, (2) Warga RW 09 belum memiliki mitra yang mumpuni dalam melakukan pengolahan limbah rumah tangga secara berkelanjutan, (3) Warga RW 09 Kelurahan periuk belum memiliki infrastruktur ataupun peralatan dalam praktik pengolahan limbah rumah tangga. Adapun ditinjau dari program pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang telah dilaksanakan, yakni memiliki hasil sebagai berikut : (1) Warga RW 09 merasakan manfaat yang signifikan dari adanya program pengolahan limbah rumah tangga, (2) Warga RW 09 memiliki mitra dalam program ekonomi sirkular dan pengolahan limbah rumah tangga serta hilirisasi produk, (3) Warga RW 09 dibekali dengan peralatan untuk membuat pupuk kompos, akses terhadap pengelolaan bank sampah, serta komunitas dengan RW di kelurahan lain dalam hal kerjasama ekonomi sirkular.

Abstract:

Tujuan kegiatan PKM ini adalah untuk menumbuhkan budaya literasi anak binaan SD Muhammadiyah 09 Bahari Surabaya melalui rumah baca kreatif berbasis e-learning. Kegiatan ini melibatkan semua guru yang ada di SD Muhammadiyah 09 Bahari Surabaya. Metode yang digunakan untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan yang dihadapi guru mitra yaitu melalui serangkaian kegiatan IST (in service training), OST (on service training) dan implementasi. Hasil kegiatan ini antara lain 1) terlaksananya PkM sesuai dengan rencana, 2) terbentuknya pengetahuan dan pemahaman guru tentang pembelajaran e-learning, 3) terbentuknya keterampilan guru dalam menggunakan media e-learning dalam pemblajaran. Abstract:

Seedling is often used as planting material and rootstock for clonal propagation in cocoa. Seedling as cocoa planting material came form superior parents or crosses of superior parents. The research aimed to estimate the genetic components of cocoa morphological characters using the North Carolina II mating design. Three female parent genotypes, namely KW 516, Sulawesi 3, and TSH 858, were crossed with two male parent genotypes, namely ICCRI 09 and Scavina 6. Observed variables consisted of plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, leaf area, root length, root volume, shoot fresh and dry weight, root fresh and dry weight, root:shoot ratio at 16 weeks after showing. General combining ability (GCA) value showed Sulawesi 3 as the best female parent, and Scavina 6 as the best male parent. Specific combining ability (SCA) values showed TSH 858 x Scavina 6, KW 516 x ICCRI 09, and Sulawesi 3 x ICCRI 09 as the best crosses. Sulawesi 3 x ICCRI 09 seedlings had good vigor and met the criteria for transplanting. Cocoa morphological characters were affected by dominant gene action except for root volume. Abstract:

Marmoset monkeys (Callithrix jacchus) were maintained for 24 mo on a standard primate diet [reference (Ref) diet] or this diet supplemented (8% wt/wt) with either sheep fat (SF), sunflower seed oil (SSO), or tuna fish oil (TFO). The polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) of myocardial phospholipids demonstrated significant alterations as a result of the dietary (n-3) or (n-6) lipid supplementation. The reduction (P less than 0.05) in prostaglandin (PG) I2 in PUFA diet-fed groups (SSO, 113.8 +/- 7.8; TFO, 87.9 +/- 8.2 compared with Ref, 153.9 +/- 7.4 pg/mg dry wt) seems to be due to the rate limitation of the endogenous substrate, because the addition of exogenous arachidonic acid (AA) has obliterated the dietary difference. However, AA did not increase the basal PGI2 production in the Ref or SF dietary groups, which differed from that for thromboxane (Tx) A2 where 2- to 5-fold stimulation was observed. It is suggested that there exists a preferential channeling mechanism to direct AA derived from phospholipase hydrolysis of membrane phospholipids toward PGI2 synthesis. Conversely, the bulk of the AA for TxA2 biosynthesis appears to be supplied by a cytosolic nonesterified fatty acid pool. The effective replacement of AA of this pool and a specific inhibition of TxA2 synthetase enzyme complex by the (n-3) PUFA of fish oil are offered as likely mechanisms for the greater inhibition of TxA2 compared with PGI2 production observed in the present and previous studies. The present data on myocardial eicosanoids correlate well with the beneficial qualities of (n-3) and (n-6) dietary PUFA on cardiac function that we have reported previously.

Abstract:

Adolescence is a transitional phase from childhood to adulthood. This phase has many physical and psychological changes that can cause various problems. The RW 09 Jamika integrated youth service post is a form of community-based health effort (UKBM) to bring adolescent health services closer to the RW 09 area. It has a function as a means of nonformal education regarding adolescent health. Implementing the integrated youth service post in RW 09 Jamika is suspected to have been more optimal for educating adolescents. This is because the youth of RW 09 Jamika have problems including (1) having anemia, (2) smoking habit, (3) the habit of staying up late, and (4) rarely doing physical activity. The aims of this study were (1) to describe the role of cadres in educating youth at RW 09 Jamika integrated service post activities; (2) to describe the inhibiting factors for cadres to help educate youth in youth integrated service post activities in RW 09 Jamika; and (3) provide solutions in increasing the role of cadres in educating youth integrated service post activities in RW 09 Jamika. The research method used is qualitative. This research data collection technique consists of interviews, documentation, and observation. The results of this study are (1) the role of the cadres is carrying out peer counseling, implementing the five-desk principle, and providing multiple questionnaires; (2) the inhibiting factors for the role of cadres in educating are the knowledge of cadres who have not mastered it optimally, limited time for training cadres and youth to be carried out by health center staff, and limited infrastructure; and (3) the solution to increasing the role of cadres in educating is to conduct coaching for cadres, scheduling according to the schedule of puskesmas officers or youth activities, and collaborating with related devices to help fulfill facilities and infrastructure.

Pemerintah wajib menjamin ketersediaan fasilitas pelayanan kesehatan dan memfasilitasi penyandang cacat untuk dapat tetap hidup mandiri dan produktif secara sosial dan ekonomis yang disampaikan melalui Undang-Undang Nomor 36 Tahun 2009 tentang Kesehatan. Pasal 42, ayat (3) Undang-Undang ini mengamanatkan bahwa teknologi dan produk teknologi kesehatan harus memenuhi Standar. Indonesia sendiri telah memiliki 189 SNI terkait alat kesehatan, namun tidak ada yang diberlakukan secara wajib. Salah satunya SNI 09-4663-1998 tentang kursi roda. Masalahnya adalah setelah 20 tahun SNI 09-4663-1998 ditetapkan belum ada produk kursi roda bertanda SNI di pasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan SNI 09-4663-1998 tentang kursi roda oleh pemangku kepentingan dan kemutakhiran standar dalam rangka persiapan kaji ulang standar 09-4663-1998. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif (mix method). Pengumpulan data primer dilakukan secara proportional sampling dengan instrumen kuesioner dan Focus Group Discussion. Responden penelitian ini adalah 6 (enam) produsen kursi roda, 3 (tiga) pakar, dan 6 (enam) konsumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa SNI 09-4663-1998 telah diketahui oleh 66,67% responden namun hanya 33,33% responden yang menerapkan SNI 09-4663-1998. Sedangkan 66,67% menggunakan standar lain, yaitu ISO 7176 series. Hal ini diidentifikasi selain karena 33,33% produsen melakukan ekspor, regulator belum menjadikan SNI 09-4663-1998 sebagai dasar penilaian dan persyaratan izin edar produk kursi roda. SNI 09-4663-1998 juga dianggap tidak mengikuti perkembangan teknologi dan standar internasional sehingga diperlukan revisi yang minimal mencakup parameter keamanan, kekuatan dan ketahanan. Penelitian ini bermanfaat sebagai masukan revisi standar.

Abstract:

The primary objective of this study was to use macroscopic and histological features of corpora lutea with a cavity and anovulatory cystic ovarian structures, present in 90 pairs of abattoir-derived dairy cow ovaries, as the basis to clarify the nomenclature of ovarian structures. Excluding morphologically normal ovarian fol-licles (antrum < 2 cm, wall < 1 mm), there were 27 fluid-filled ovarian structures. Ovulatory structures > 16 mm in diameter were designated as Group A (cavity ≤ 10 mm and wall > 10 mm) or Group B (cavity > 10 mm and wall < 10 mm). The volume of luteal tissue was less (P < 0.05) in Group B than in Group A, whereas that of a solid corpus luteum (CL) was intermediate (least square means ± SEM: 72 ± 1.92, 11.22 ± 1.57 and 5.84 ± 1.92 cm3, respectively). There was a greater proportion (P < 0.05) of small luteal cells in Group B compared to a solid CL, whereas Group A was intermediate (58.6 ± 5.3, 37.4 ± 5.3 and 44.0 ± 4.4%, respectively). Connective tissue was thicker (P < 0.05) in Group B than in Group A (295.4 ± 46.9 vs. 153.9 ± 38.2 μm). Based on the above-mentioned characteristics and differences, Groups A and B were designated as a CL with a cavity and a cystic CL, respectively. Furthermore, there were three groups of anovulatory ovarian structures. Structures in Group C were termed persistent/anovulatory follicles (overall diameter and wall thickness ≤ 20 and 1–3 mm, respectively). Finally, Groups D and E were designated as a follicle-fibrous cyst and a follicle-luteinised cyst (based on histological structure) for anovulatory structures with an overall diameter and wall thickness of ≥ 20 and ≤ 3 mm, and ≥ 20 and ≥ 3 mm, respectively.

Objective: To analyze the status of dental care activities, including prevention and treatment of dental conditions at 09 health commune stations in Cai Be district, Tien Giang province in the period of 2016 - 2018. Methods: The study used a cross-sectional design (using qualitative and secondary data), to conduct, 18 in-depth interviews with administrators of 1 district health center, 3 commune health stations, 3 medical staff in charge of oral diseases, 8 patients, and 3 school medical staff. Thematic analysis was used, and quantitative data were analyzed with descriptive statistics Findings: Communication activities for dental care were carried out annually; all patients were consulted and educated on oral health and prevention measures for oral and dental diseases. All 09 commune health stations have medical staff in charge of oral diseases; however, their professional qualifications are limited. Usually, they are not dentists but dentomaxillofacial physicians, or even nurses in some stations. All 09/09 commune health stations do not have staff that are trained on dental care at hospitals. Conclusions and recommendations: Dental care at the commune level has a number of limitations, requiring further development of human resources, technical support, communication activities, and oral care supervision at communal health stations and schools.

The research design is qualitative with data collection methods through observation and interviews. Respondents amounted to 3 people consisting of 1 regional leader and 2 youth youths in the RW 09 area. The results showed that RW 09 Kelapa Dua Wetan Village, Ciracas District, Jakarta was ready to form PIK KRR in their area both in terms of infrastructure, support and regional leaders, and youth youth support. Abstract:

The reduction of the cerebral glucose metabolism is closely related to the activation of the NOD-like receptor protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome in Alzheimer’s disease (AD); however, its underlying mechanism remains unclear. In this paper, 18F-flurodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography was used to trace cerebral glucose metabolism in vivo, along with Western blotting and immunofluorescence assays to examine the expression and distribution of associated proteins. Glucose and insulin tolerance tests were carried out to detect insulin resistance, and the Morris water maze was used to test the spatial learning and memory ability of the mice. The results show increased NLRP3 inflammasome activation, elevated insulin resistance, and decreased glucose metabolism in 3×Tg-AD mice. Inhibiting NLRP3 inflammasome activation using CY-09, a specific inhibitor for NLRP3, may restore cerebral glucose metabolism by increasing the expression and distribution of glucose transporters and enzymes and attenuating insulin resistance in AD mice. Moreover, CY-09 helps to improve AD pathology and relieve cognitive impairment in these mice. Although CY-09 has no significant effect on ferroptosis, it can effectively reduce fatty acid synthesis and lipid peroxidation. These findings provide new evidence for NLRP3 inflammasome as a therapeutic target for AD, suggesting that CY-09 may be a potential drug for the treatment of this disease.

Abstract:

Uapaca heudelotii Baill. is well known in various African cultures for its application in the treatment of infections and inflammatory conditions. This study was focused on providing standard identification parameters for authentication and quality assurance of U. heudelotii through morphological observations, screening of phytochemical constituents, fluorescence, spectroscopic and physicochemical analysis. U. heudelotii leaves are simple, elliptic and arranged in whorls. The bark is greyish-brown with longitudinal striations on the outer surface and pale red on the inner surface. Leaf lamina microscopy displayed anticlinal polygonal straight-walled epidermal cells, with anisocytic stomata found only on the abaxial surface. Leaf surface constants were determined. Microscopy of powdered leaves and barks revealed the presence of epidermal cells, starch grains, calcium oxalate, sclereids and pitted vessels. Alkaloids, flavonoids, coumarins, saponins, triterpenoids, phytosterols and tannins were identified in both stem bark and leaves. The total phenolic content for the leaf and bark were 219.2 ± 10.013 and 153.9 ± 1.602 mg/g gallic acid equivalent respectively. The total ?avonoid contents were recorded as 1036 ± 33.37 and 310.2 ± 79.00 mg/g quercetin equivalent for the leaf and bark respectively. The total ash for the leaf and bark was 6.41 ± 0.208 and 5.01 ±0.258 respectively. The pH values for the aqueous and alcoholic extracts were slightly acidic (3-5). In elemental analysis, lead (Pb) was detected within the acceptable limit (0.0019-0.0025 mg/kg). In conclusion, the current results have provided standard parameters for the correct identification and quality assessment of U. heudelotii.

Background: Community service carried out at RW 09 Margahayu Utara Village, Babakan Ciparay Bandung District through community service activities which are an annual agenda for lecturers and students of the Immanuel Bandung Health Institute. In 2022, the Immanuel Bandung Institute of Health is concentrating on community service activities in Margahayu Utara Village and Babakan Ciparay Village, Babakan Ciparay District. The target of this community service group activity is the community in RW.09, North Marhagayu Village. Purpose: the purpose of community service is to increase the knowledge of the RW.09 community, namely stress management education on early detection of breast cancer in RW. 09 Kelurahan Margahayu Utara, as well as knowing about education in health education. Methods: This activity was carried out in RW.09 Kel. Margahayu Utara by using a community empowerment approach. Results: The communities in question are the people of RT 1, RT 2, RT 3, RT 4, RT 5 and RT 6 Margahayu Utara, Babakan Ciparay District. The form of health counseling provided is through the provision of material with lectures, discussions and demonstrations. Based on the evaluation in the form of pre-test and post-test, it was found that there was an increase in knowledge of RW.09 from 50% to 90%. This health education also provides enrichment on good stress management for the community and health cadres in RW.09, Babakan Ciparay District.

Dalam penelitian ini ditemukan tatacara pembagian warisan suku Toraja yaitu dengan melebihkan harta kepada anak sulung karena menganggap anak sulung berjasa dalam keluarga serta tidak memberikan hak warisan kepada salah satu ahli waris karena telah mendapatkan hibah semasa hidup pewaris. Responden dalam penelitian ini beragama Islam. Melalui teknik analisis, peneliti mendeskripsikan secara kualitatif bahwa pembagian waris suku Toraja RT. 09 Sepinggan Raya Balikpapan Selatan tertolak, berdasarkan dalam Qoidah Ushul Fiqih, hal ini merupakan al-Urf Fasid bahwa adat yang berlaku di suatu tempat meskipun membagikan dari hasil musyawarah ahli waris itu sendiri. Abstract:

One of the chief limiting factors for the cultivated cherry plum in the central zone of Belarus is winter hardiness. The main components of cherry plum winter hardiness were studied by the method of artificial freezing. The main test modes were: resistance to autumn slight frosts and early frosts; the maximum value of frost resistance developed by plants after the end of organic dormancy; the ability to maintain resistance to low temperatures during the winter thaws, to restore frost resistance during re-hardening after thaws. In the field, as well as in artificial freezing in various modes, the vascular-conducting tissue of the bourgeon node turned out to be the most sensitive to freezing. Based on the results of a comprehensive assessment of the winter hardiness of cultivated cherry plum genotypes in the field and using the method of direct freezing, we can distinguish that the sources of winter hardiness of tissues of annual shoots are hybrids 09-10/46 (Lama × Gaviota) and 09-9/72 (Comet × Mara); sources of winter hardiness of generative buds are hybrids 09-3/22 (Puteshestvennitsa × pollen mixture), 09-9/61, 09-9/66, 09-9/72 (Comet × Mara).

Abstract:

Secara umum masyarakat RW 09 Kelurahan Kalirejo telah mampu untuk mengembangkan potensi lingkungan sekitar, hal ini dibuktikan dengan adanya kelompok masyarakat yang berupaya mengembangkan pengelolaan limbah sampah non-organik yang sudah terstruktur dengan baik. Pemberdayaan serta pengolahan sampah baik sampah organik maupun anorganik merupakan salahsatu masalah yang tidak asing lagi di tengah masyarakat. Dalam hal ini, berdasarkan hasil survei dikawasan RW 09, kelompok 3 menemukan bahwa pengolahan sampah terutama sampah organik diRW 09 ini dirasa kurang dimnfaatkan maksimal pengolahannya. Banyak dari sebagian masyarakatkurang peduli terhadap keadaan serta kelestarian di lingkungan sekitar berupa resapan air. Pembuatan Lubang Resapan Biopori (LRB) dan pupuk kompos cair dari sampah di RW 09 Kelurahan Kalirejo, Kecamatan Lawang, Kabupaten Malang dapat menambah jumlah resapan air dan mendapatkan manfaat sampah yang selama ini kurang digali. Sehingga nantinya, sumber air pada waktu kemarautetap besar, dan tanaman sekitar rumah menjadi lebih subur karena endapatkan pupuk kompos cair.

Abstract:

Four Gram-staining-negative, catalase- and oxidase-positive, pale-orange pigmented bacterial strains (435-08T, 47B-3-09, 412R-09T and 60B-3-09) were isolated from diseased rainbow trout. Analysis of their 16S rRNA gene sequences suggested their adscription to the genus Flavobacterium . Strains formed two phylogenetic groups represented by strains 435-08T and 47B-3-09 (group A), and strains 412R-09T and 60B-3-09 (group B) displaying 16S rRNA sequence similarities greater than 99.8–99.9 % within their respective groups. Strain 435-08T exhibited the highest levels of similarity with Flavobacterium aquidurense WB-1.1.56T (98.6 % sequence similarity) and strain 412R-09T with Flavobacterium frigidimaris KUC-1T and Flavobacterium aquidurense WB-1.1.56T (98.9 % and 98.6 % sequence similarity, respectively). DNA–DNA hybridization studies showed low levels of relatedness between strain 435-08T and strain 412R-09T and between both strains and the most closely related species of the genus Flavobacterium . The genomic DNA G+C contents of strains 435-08T and 412R-09T were 36.2 and 34.3 mol%, respectively. The predominant respiratory quinone of both strains was MK-6 and the major fatty acids were iso-C15 : 0, C16 : 1ω7c and C15 : 0. The two groups of strains could be distinguished from each other and from related species of the genus Flavobacterium by a number of phenotypic properties. Phylogenetic, genotypic and phenotypic evidence indicated that strains of groups A and B represent two novel species of the genus Flavobacterium , for which the names Flavobacterium tructae sp. nov. (type strain 435-08T = CECT 7791T = CCUG 60100T) and Flavobacterium piscis sp. nov. (type strain 412R-09T = CECT 7911T = CCUG 60099T) are proposed.

Abstract:

Because the use of drying at high temperatures might negatively affect the functional properties of fruits, the effect of air-drying at 60°C on the total phenolic content (TPC) and antioxidant capacity (AOC) of cape gooseberry fruit was evaluated at three ripeness stages. The AOC was evaluated with 2,2'-azino-bis(3- ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS ), ferric reducing ability of plasma (FRAP), 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), and b-carotene-linoleate assays. The TPC and AOC increased in the fresh fruit as the ripeness stage increased. The TPC increased from 401.8±19.8 to 569.3±22.3 mg GA E/100 g dry weight (DW). The AOC values obtained with ABTS in the fresh fruit (ranging from 79.4±4.5 to 132.7±12.9 mmol trolox/g fruit DW) were comparable to those obtained with FRAP (ranging from 82.9±16.3 to 153.9±31.7 mmol trolox/g fruit DW). The values assessed with DPPH ranged from 21.0±3.2 to 34.1±5.1 mmol trolox/g fruit DW. The b-carotene-linoleate assay gave values ranging from 5.8±1.1 to 12.7±2.0 mmol a-tocoferol/g fruit DW. Air-drying the cape gooseberry fruit had a small influence on the TPC. The air-dried fruit had AOC values ranging from 27 to 164% of the value of the fresh fruit. While the ABTS assay produced higher values in the air-dried fruit than in the fresh fruit, the FRAP, DPPH, and b-carotene-linoleate assays resulted in lower values in the air-dried fruit.
