Abstract:
Mulberry plants have wide range of variations in characters in view of its adaptability to cross pollination with no inter-specific reproduction barrier rendering it a heterozygous species. Every plant being different from the other in natural population, this great diversity makes it difficult to gather information and carry out studies on effect of different edaphic factors on the expression of genotypic characters for adjudging the variations. In lieu of this known diversity for posterity, the collection of mulberry genotypes from diverse genetic sources, their conservation, evaluation and consequent documentation is of prime importance. In the present study, 69 mulberry accessions were characterized for morphology, anatomy, and reproductive parameters. Evaluation for propagation, growth and yield characters were also carried out. Based on multiple trait analysis, 14 top performing accessions viz., MI-0879, MI-0882, MI-0908, MI-0931, MI-0907, MI-0940, MI-0881, MI-0941, MI0892, MI-0913, MI-0937, MI-0934, MI-0865, MI-0886 were identified. These accessions could serve as resources for further evaluation aimed at trait-specific crop improvement.

Abstract:
Mulberry is a dioecious species but, is usually cultivated as low bush or dwarf tree form by repeated pruning. Apart from its importance in silkworm rearing, it is also valued for its delicious fruits, medicinal properties in infusions, and ornamental shade tree. The conservation of mulberry genetic resources for future use and their subsequent usage in plant breeding are two critical areas of action in any genetic resource management programme. The current study used morphological, reproductive, anatomical, biochemical, propagation, growth, and yield variables to know the potential value of 22 mulberry accessions. Based on multiple trait analysis, the accessions MI-0946, MI-0945, MI-0953, MI-0948, MI-0935, MI-0948, MI-0936 and MI-0952 were identified as top performers for anatomy, propagation, biochemical, growth and yield parameters. These accessions may serve as potential parents for the future breeding program.

"Development and validation of a new instrument to measure perceived risks associated with the use of tobacco and nicotine-containing products." Abstract:
Making tobacco products associated with lower risks available to smokers who would otherwise continue smoking is recognized as an important strategy towards addressing smoking-related harm. Predicting use behavior is an important major component of product risk assessment. In this context, risk perception is a possible factor driving tobacco product uptake and use. As prior to market launch real-world actual product use cannot be observed, assessing risk perception can provide predictive information. Considering the lack of suitable validated self-report instruments, the development of a new instrument was undertaken to quantify perceived risks of tobacco and nicotine-containing products by adult smokers, former smokers and never-smokers. Initial items were constructed based on a literature review, focus groups and expert opinion. Data for scale formation and assessment were obtained through two successive US-based web surveys (n=2020 and 1640 completers, respectively). Psychometric evaluation was based on Rasch Measurement Theory and Classical Test Theory. Psychometric evaluation supported the formation of an 18-item Perceived Health Risk scale and a 7-item Perceived Addiction Risk scale: item response option thresholds were ordered correctly for all items; item locations in each scale were spread out (coverage range 75-87%); scale reliability was supported by high person separation indices > 0.93, Cronbach's alpha > 0.98 and Corrected Item-Total Correlations > 0.88; and no differential item functioning was present. Construct validity evaluations met expectations through inter-scale correlations and findings from known-group comparisons. The Perceived Risk Instrument is a psychometrically robust instrument applicable for general and personal risk perception measurement, for use in different types of products (including cigarettes, nicotine replacement therapy, potential Modified Risk Tobacco Products), and for different status groups (i.e., current smokers with and without intention to quit, former smokers, never smokers).

This report presents the biography of the composer Antonio Vivaldi, background of his composition Gloria, musical characteristics and analysis. Moreover, for a successful performance, rehearsal plans and techniques are also included. Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741), one of the representative composers in Baroque period (1600-1750), wrote Gloria, in the early 18th century. The composition date is still disputed between scholars. He composed three settings of the Gloria text: RV 588, 589 and 590. Out of them RV 589 is the most performed setting. Gloria consists of twelve movements and orchestration of trumpet, oboe, strings, and continuo. Homophonic and polyphonic style is prevalent in this work. In addition, focus should be placed on the harmonic suspensions, the flow of chromatic melodic lines and melismas. For the recital, Chamber Singers consisted of 23 people who were the members of Concert Choir who have training focusing on clean and light tone with non-vibrato style.

Abstract:
The subject of our thesis is the dramatic and epic values presented at the Šãh-Nãme (the King's Book) by Ferdösĩ. This Persain literature masterpiece is foll of qualities such as heroism, braveness, honour, respect and honesty. .

-1 were achieved when testing specimens and this rate was obtained using a split Hopkinson pressure bar. A substantial number of preliminary tests were conducted in order to obtain a suitable specimen size which was then used in the temperature measurement process. Quasistatic, intermediate and high strain-rate tests were performed; the last utilised the radiometer for temperature measurement. An Eyring plot was constructed from which fundamental values for activation volumes and enthalpies were obtained. Full descriptions of the testing techniques used have been included and a brief photoelastic analysis has been carried out on a partially deformed specimen which shows molecular alignment.

Abstract:
Post-translational modifications (PTMs) to histone proteins play important roles in the regulation of gene expression. Histone lysine demethylases (KDMs) remove methyl groups from N?-amino methylated lysine residues. There are two classes of human KDMs; the flavin adenosine dinucleotide-dependent demethylases (the KDM1 subfamily) and the 2-oxoglutarate- (2OG) dependent Jumonji C (JmjC) demethylases (KDM2-7). Misregulation and mutation of histone demethylases are associated with multiple human diseases including cancer. Hence potent and selective inhibitors are of interest for investigations into the biological roles of KDMs and their relevance as targets for drug discovery. JmjC KDM inhibitors have been reported in the literature but there are few subfamily selective examples. The aim of the work described in this thesis was to design and synthesise potent and subfamily selective inhibitors of human JmjC KDMs for use as chemical probes. An aminomethyl pyridine-4-carboxylate series that was derived from a high throughput screening hit delivered a selective, submicromolar KDM2A inhibitor. X-ray crystallographic analyses demonstrated that the aminomethyl pyridine moiety bound the active site iron revealing a novel JmjC KDM inhibitor scaffold. A known 2,2'-bipyridine-4-carboxylate scaffold was used as a starting point for the identification of a second, novel JmjC KDM inhibitor series that contains a triazolopyridine moiety as a replacement for the bipyridine system. The triazolopyridine core was shown to bind in the 2OG binding site of KDM4A by X-ray crystallography. Optimisation of the triazole substituent gave a selective inhibitor of KDM2A/7B that is significantly more potent (KDM2A IC50: 58 nM, KDM7B IC50: 150 nM) than reported KDM2/7 subfamily selective inhibitors. As for many other JmjC KDM inhibitors, this compound was not found to be efficacious in a cellular assay. A variety of strategies were pursued with the aim of improving the cellular efficacy. However, only a modest effect was observed in the cellular assay (less than 25% inhibition at 100 μM). A biotinylated analogue was immobilised onto streptavidin-coated beads for chemoproteomics experiments and was found to interact with KDM2A in cell lysate. Overall, this work resulted in the identification of two new scaffolds for JmjC KDM inhibition and in a potent and selective inhibitor of KDM2A/7B.
