Abstract:
Computer-aided design (CAD) poses a brand new change of environmental art design from concept to skills. Nowadays, computer operation is a must for environmental art design, and no one can ignore such a powerful trend. This is transition period from traditional manual design mode to advanced computer design mode, and now we are standing on top of this new start point. CAD has fully performed its charm and become an indispensable tool in the field of the environmental creative art design. Mastering relevant software has become an essential skill for designers. However they often feel lost in current complex computer software, or even when they have conquered software technology difficulties, still trapped into a hard-pressed embarrassment to combine design with ideas. This dissertation starts from CAD definition, discusses CAD development and its own characteristics, and further on CAD applications in environment art design, main types and functions in current CAD software. The end of this article also gives an outlook on future effects and scheme a better vision for CAD in environmental design.

Abstract:
The purpose of the study is to identify the need to address the environmental, usability and harmfulness of the structure (design), the rational development of the essence of the fourth design feature of machine components, equipment and other engineering and technical facilities as well as the environment. Known to the designers of machine construction and technology, three design features are commonly used: geometric, material and dynamic, oriented on the form, dimension and tolerance of the outer form, internal structure and the assembly capabilities of the design elements. The development of technology indicates the possibility of expending the concept of three design features, along with an environmental characteristic, as the root causes, functional and secondary existence of machinery, equipment, installation, also the environment. The aim of the study was achieved, indicating environmental useful values of the structure, in the proposal for a general outline of the essence of the fourth design feature of machine components, equipment and other engineering and technical facilities, on the example of turbine blades of windmills.

Abstract:

These values include functional performance, manufacturability, serviceability, and environmental impact. We start with a survey of life-cycle engineering research focusing on methodologies and tools. Further, the paper addresses critical research issues in life-cycle design tools: design representation and measures for life-cycle evaluation. The paper describes our design representation scheme based on a semantic network that is effective for evaluating the structural layout. Evaluation measures for serviceability and recyclability illustrate the practical use of these representation schemes.

Abstract:
As far as the core of internal data structure is concerned, the elements of Building Information Modeling (BIM) platform relate to each other as components of families, independent of their materiality, parametric dependencies, geometrical structure, or their physical connection to other elements. Considering a building as an organism, this research aims at developing an evaluation methodology for buildings, based on their environmental performance. The methodology to be established is multi-objective, uses different weights and values assigned to the parameters of the families members, and checks and balances the system characteristics in order to come up with a dynamic criteria meant for guiding in the overall design and building process. This paper establishes a solid set of methodological tools that can be used for assessing a buildings environmental performance, and develops independent researches for architectural designs, alongside incorporating the ecological thoughts and building.

Abstract:
AbstractNonlinear time-domain simulations are often used to predict the structural response at the design stage to ensure the acceptable operation and/or survival of floating structures under extreme conditions. An environmental contour (EC) is commonly employed to identify critical sea states that serve as the input for numerical simulations to assess the safety and performance of marine structures. In many studies, marginal and conditional distributions are defined to construct bivariate joint probability distributions for variables, such as significant wave height and zero-crossing period. Then, ECs can be constructed using the inverse first-order reliability method (IFORM). This study adopts alternative models to describe the generalized dependence structure between environmental variables using copulas and discusses the Nataf transformation as a special case. ECs are constructed using measured wave data from moored buoys. Derived design loads are applied on a semisubmersible platform to assess possible differences. In addition, a linear interpolation scheme is utilized to establish a parametric model using short-term extreme tension distribution parameters and wave data, and the long-term tension response is estimated using Monte Carlo simulation. A 3D IFORM-based approach, in which the short-term extreme response that is ignored in the EC approach is used as the third variable, is proposed to help establish accurate design loads with increased accuracy. Results offer a clear illustration of the extreme responses of floating structures based on different models.
