Abstract:
TDOA (Time Difference of Arrival) для локалізації сигналів та розподілити обчислення між серверами кластера використовуючи платформу Apache Spark.
Topicality. Acoustic sensory networks are increasingly used in many applications of human activity. Also, the hardware component of the computing resource of such networks becomes more productive. At the same time, requirements for the speed and the maximum number of objects that must be simultaneously localized in such networks increase, therefore the question of applying new algorithms for providing distributed computing on the network nodes is relevant. The object of study are methods of designing distributed computing systems in sensory networks when locating sources of acoustic signal. The study examines the implementation of the distributed computing system in sensory networks in the localization of sources of acoustic signal. Objective: to develop a model simulating the localization of acoustic signal sources in the sensor network and consists of a network of sensors and servers forming a cluster, as well as the development of an algorithm that will allow the time difference of the Arrival (TDOA) to implement the signal localization and distribute computations between cluster servers using Apache Spark platform.
TDOA (Time Difference of Arrival) для локализации сигналов и распределить вычисления между серверами кластера используя платформу Apache Spark.

Sargeant, Anthony John. "Testing the dependability of dynamic binding in service-oriented computing." Thesis, University of Leeds, 2013. http://ethos.bl.uk/OrderDetails.do?uin=uk.bl.ethos.616303.

Full text
Abstract:
Service-Oriented Computing (SOC) provides a flexible framework in which applications may be built up from services, often distributed across a network. One of the promises of SOC is that of Dynamic Binding where abstract consumer requests are bound to concrete service instances at runtime, thereby offering a high level of flexibility and adaptability. Existing research has so far focused mostly on the design and implementation of dynamic binding operations and there is little research into a comprehensive evaluation of dynamic binding systems, especially in terms of system failure and dependability. This work presents a novel, extensible evaluation framework that allows for the testing and assessment of a Dynamic Binding System (DBS). Based on a fault model specially built for DBS's, the system is able to insert selectively the types of fault that would affect a DBS and observe its behaviour. By treating the DBS as a black box and distributing the components of the evaluation framework, it is not restricted to the implementing technologies of the DBS, nor does it need to be co-located in the same environment as the DBS under test. This thesis presents the results of a series of experiments on two case studies; a proof-of-concept DBS, and a real-life DBS. Here the focus is on the interactions between each DBS and the services they employ as well as interactions with a client of the DBS. The results on the proof-of-concept Calculator-DBS and real-life NECTISE Software Demonstrator (NSD) system show that the proposed method and testing framework is able to trigger abnormal behaviour of the NSD due to communication and interaction faults and generate important information for improving both dependability and performance of the system under test.

Abstract:
With the emergence of natural user interfaces (NUl) technologies; which introduces new ways of interacting with computers, the way humans think about using computers has changed. Computer games have now a new dimension; where the player can perform a wide range of movements, ranging from simple hand gestures to moving the whole body or simply changing body position. This project aims to evaluate new ways of motivating older adults to move and perform exercises by encouraging them to play computer games that are fun. For gaming to work with older adults. the perceived affordancet or opportunity for action, of the game needs to give the player a meaningful indication about what actions are possible. and what they should do next. This project focuses on how to design games that adapts to individual player's affordancest where the level of difficulty of each level in the game will be able to accommodate an individual user's physical abilities. The research also investigates usability issues associated with designing digital games for older adults. An iterative testing methodology was applied to create several game prototypes to stipulate a set of design heuristics that will serve as a shared language between designers and developers. This project also Investigates how the player performance can be analysed when playing Kinect games, in such a way to enable older people to win against younger. A new novel algorithm called Best Hit Algorithm is implemented. The algorithm is tested with both older and younger adults to prove its validity; it provides a fair challenge mechanism where each player performance is measured according to hislher best performance. This is contrary to the current implementations of Kinect games where the winner usually is the player who has higher physical capabilities (e.g. faster response speed).

Abstract:
Reconfigurable hardware systems offer great potential for improving performance over software through increased parallelism and reduced control overhead. However, the configuration of the hardware is performed statically, restricting the system's ability to adapt to the run-time environment. Thisthesis explores the possibility ot compiling from object code into a reconfigurable hardware structure at run-time to allow the hardware configuration to benefit from the behaviour of the currently executing code.

Abstract:
The application of hardware controllers within safety critical environments is becoming ever more common and complex. With increasing complexity" comes a higher potential for design errors. Hardware design tools such as Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, aim to expose these errors using equivalence checking l;Jetween abstract and concrete designs and apply functional property verification, driven by scenarios. Determining these scenarios using test environments, is however, not always straightforward. The EDA tools aid in determining the simulation coverage of test scenarios, but finding corner cases during testing to ensure complete coverage is difficult. Current research in hardware verification aims to find methods that can discover these extremes arid identify errors that reside within the design; one of these approaches employs formal methods. In this research, we determine that an existing Communicating Sequential Processes (CSP) compiler, the Shared Variable Analyser (SVA), is suitable as a basis for our work. SVA is designed for analysing threaded processes that interact with shared global variables. The systems analysed by this custom compiler reflect many of the behavioural concepts within the hardware design language, Very High Speed Integrated Circuit (VHSIC) Hardware Description Language (VHDL). A contribution of the thesis is the definition of formal approach for modelling hardware designs based on the concepts of shared signals. This approach is implemented by extending the SVA compiler; we call this augmentation of the compiler the Shared Variable Analyser for VHDL (SVA4VHDL). Another contribution of the thesis is the automatic generation from VHDL scripts to SVA4VHDL scripts, which are then provided as input to the compiler. This automatic generation ensures that scripts can be generated easily and repeatably without errors.

Abstract:
Future third generation transmission networks will be largely IP based systems. This research addresses the virtual bus architecture, a hierarchical access network offering a broadcast capability for data and signaUing. The appearance of numerous technologies such as voice over r IP, multimedia applications, and video conferencing requires an integrated approach to network design and implementation, supporting multiple types of traffic from multiple sources. This research updates the virtual bus architecture to address these requirements.

Abstract:
The topic of this thesis is a novel hardware compilation approach called Haydn that combines the benefits of both behavioural and structural methodologies, so that it can support high-level synthesis, design exploration, design extensibility, and optional manual control. The main contributions of this thesis include the Haydn computation model, a parallel programming language called Haydn-C, a description of hardware design patterns based on the proposed approach, algorithms and techniques for automatic transformation, the implementation of a complete design-flow which performs source-level transformation, simulation and hardware synthesis, and finally the evaluation of the proposed language, algorithms and tools. The principal mnovation of the Haydn approach is to enable interleaving of manual design development with an automated scheduling procedure that supports user constraints. Designers can automatically restructure their designs to exploit different constraints, and to explore the best tradeoffs between size and speed. For this purpose, the Haydn C language includes an annotation facility to control the scheduling process. Pipelined and non-pipelined architectures can be generated with resources running at different speeds and with different latencies. To evaluate our approach, we include several case studies, such as Fibonacci number generation, RC2 encryption, posture analysis system, 3D free-form deformation, Gouraud shading, Montgomery multiplication and ID discrete cosine transform. For the 3D free-form deformation case-study, we derive an architecture running at 153MHz which is 328 times faster than software on a dual AMD MP2600+ processor machine running at 2.1GHz.
