<div><p><em>The article shows the specific nature of the formation of the media image of Tomasz Padura, a Polish-Ukrainian poet and composer, a representative of the Polish romantic Ukrainophile movement of the early 19^th century. This paper also studies transformation of this image into a symbol of the Polish-Ukrainian unity. Being an apologist of the idea of rapprochement of the Polish and Ukrainian nations, Tomasz Padura blends harmoniously with the modern political and cultural contexts. His Ukrainophile image is сultivated in different social institutions and acquires new meanings which created the necessity for this research paper. The empirical basis for the analysis comprises 24 publications in the Ukrainian Internet editions during the period from 2016 to 2019. The main method of interpreting Padura’s image was the content analysis of publications directly or circumstantially related to the poet. This allowed ascertaining content focuses and tonality of the provided information. The comparative method contributed to the explication of the main tendencies of the conversion of the image to the symbol. As a result, the headlines and the content of the materials have been proven to show a consistent strategy of stressing the positive aspect of the history of the Polish-Ukrainian relations, in particular the Ukrainophile tendencies among the Polish nobility, achievements of the Ukrainian school in the Polish literature, and Tomasz Padura’s relations with this school. The focus of the Ukrainian Internet editions is on the most substantial and striking facts of life and creative work of the poet. Those facts belong to the following informational aspects: narrow biographical, selfless ideological, creative, memorial, and futuristic. Each of those aspects has its content aimed at the melioration of Tomasz Padura’s image as a Polish Ukrainophile. The process of symbolization of this image performs several social functions: the historical-typological one allowing to trace the main stages of the image transformation; the methodological one which stresses its significance for the contemporaries; the communicative one which ensures the continuous attention to the poet, and the marketing function promoting Tomasz Padura’s name as a brand from the point of view of the commercial success.</em></p></div><strong><em>Key words</em>:</strong> <em>Tomasz Padura, Polish-Ukrainian poet, media image, symbol, Ukrainophilia, mass media.</em>

The article shows the specific features of the formation of Tomasz Padura’s media image and its transformation into a symbol of the Polish-Ukrainian unity. It has been proven that the attention of the Ukrainian mass media is concentrated on the most weighty and outstanding facts of the poet’s life and work. Those facts represent several informative aspects: narrow biographical, ideological, creative, memorial, and futuristic. Each of those aspects has its content aimed at the melioration of Tomasz Padura’s image as an exemplary Polish Ukrainophile, a symbol of the Polish-Ukrainian unity. The symbolization of this image has several functions: the historical-typological one allowing to trace the main stages of the image transformation; the methodological one which stresses its significance for the contemporaries; the communicative one which ensures the continuous attention to the poet, and the marketing function promoting Tomasz Padura’s name as a brand from the point of view of the commercial success.

У статті розкрито історію пісні „Hej Sokoły!”, яка сьогодні популярна як у Польщі, так і в Україні. У цій пісні розповідається про молодого козака, який виїхав за кордон і тужить за рідною Україною та коханою дівчиною, що залишилася там. Хоча твір і виражає любов до України, та це не українська, а польська пісня. Вона пов’язана зі середовищем поляків, які залишили українські землі після Другої світової війни. У 1918–1939 рр. сучасні терени Західної України (Галичина і Волинь) входили до складу Польської держави. Там проживало багато польських сімей. Коли після Другої світової війни Волинь та Галичина увійшли до складу Української РСР, то велика кількість поляків виїхала звідти до Польщі в її нових межах. Виражена в пісні „Hej Sokoły!” туга за Україною не однозначна з українського й польського поглядів. Водночас цей твір, перекладений українською мовою, набув популярності та вважається українською патріотичною піснею. Відтак запропонована у статті версія походження пісні „Hej Sokoły!”цілком спростовує поширену в наш час думку про автора цієї пісні Томаша (Тимка) Падуру (1801–1871) та показує, наскільки складні польсько-українські відносини.

Книга протоиерея Алексея Олеговича Ястребова «Святыни Венеции» уже хорошо известна читателю. Первое её издание увидело свет ещё в 2010 г. в итальянской Падуе, и уже в 2011 г. путеводитель получил премию памяти митрополита Московского и Коломенского Макария, чем подчеркивались не только просветительские, но и научные заслуги автора. Второе издание вышло также за границей в 2013 г., но потребности российского читателя всё ещё оставались неудовлетворенными. Это и понятно — книга по-прежнему была доступна только в Италии. Тем более отрадно, что в 2019 г. ИД «Познание» предпринял третье, на этот раз российское издание книги. Осенью «Святыни Венеции» увидели свет, а 10 декабря 2019 г. в конференц-зале Общецерковной аспирантуры и докторантуры им. свв. Кирилла и Мефодия состоялась официальная презентация тома. The book "The Sanctuaries of Venice" by Archpriest Alexei Olegovich Yastrebov is already well known to readers. Its first edition was published back in 2010 in Padua, Italy, and already in 2011 the guide received the award in memory of Metropolitan Macarius of Moscow and Kolomna, which highlighted not only the educational, but also the scientific merits of the author. The second edition was also published abroad in 2013, but the needs of the Russian reader were still unsatisfied. This is understandable - the book was still only available in Italy. It is all the more encouraging that in 2019 Poznaniye Publishing House has undertaken a third, this time Russian edition of the book. The Shrines of Venice saw the light of day in the autumn, and on 10 December 2019 the official presentation of the volume took place in the conference hall of the St Cyril and Methodius All-Church Postgraduate and Doctoral School.

Незвичайним явищем у польській літературі періоду романтизму стала поява так званої „української” школи. До неї входили поети і письменники польського походження, які народились в Україні, і своє творче натхнення черпали з української народної творчості. Одним з найбільш характерних представників цієї школи був наш земляк Т. Падура. Незважаючи на існування досить ґрунтовних досліджень, ця постать заслуговує на повернення із забуття і подальше вивчення. В роботі з’ясовано основні дефініції дослідження, досліджено життя та творчість польсько-українського поета Т. Падури (1801– 1871). З’ясований вплив романтизму на його творчість, доведена належність до „української школи”, надана загальна характеристика творів, узагальнена літературна критика. З’ясовано значення навчання Падури на його творчість, політичні погляди. Визначено вплив поета на українську літературу. Здійснено аналіз можливого авторства пісні „Гей, соколи!”, визначено перспективи подальших філологічних, історичних, музичних досліджень.
