Abstract:
The electric mean squared radii 〈r2〉E of Λ(1405) are calculated in the chiral unitary model. We describe the Λ(1405) as a dynamically generated resonance fully in the octet meson and octet baryon scattering. We also consider “Λ(1405)” as a bound state of [Formula: see text]. For the later “Λ(1405),” we obtain negative and larger absolute value of electric mean squared radius than that of ordinary baryons, which implies that Λ(1405) have structure of widely spread K− around p.

Abstract:
Among the light baryons, the Jπ = 1/2− Λ(1405) hyperon is an important special case as it sits just below the N K̅ threshold and decays almost exclusively to Σπ. Some long-standing hypotheses for Λ(1405) are that it could be a N K̅ bound state or a Σπ continuum resonance. It may also be considered as a simple quark-model resonance, the P-wave companion of the Λ(1520). In recent years chiral unitary models have suggested that there are two isospin zero poles present in this mass region, and that the “line shape" of the Λ(1405) depends to what extent each of the two poles are stimulated in a given reaction. Below the N K̅ threshold, the Λ(1405) decays to the three Σπ charge combinations. The Σ0π0 mode is purely I = 0 and it is uncontaminated by complications arising from I = 1 scattering processes contributing to the reaction mechanism in the Σ+π− and Σ−π+ decays. It is also not affected from production and decay of the nearby Σ0(1385) hyperon. The GlueX experiment at Jefferson Lab has been used to study the Λ(1405) → Σ0π0 decay mode. We focus on the preliminary results of dσ/dMΣ0π0 and fits to the line shape of the Λ(1405) region in the −(t − tmin) range 0 - 1.5 GeV2 from analyzing the reaction γp → K+Λ* using the data collected during the first phase of the GlueX program.

Abstract:
In this work we investigate the possible interference effects between the Λ(1405) and the non-resonant final state in p+p reactions at 3.5 GeV beam kinetic energy measured by the HADES collaboration. The two poles nature of the Λ(1405), which is supported by most of the theoretical models, are parametrized within a simplified phenomenological model with Breit-Wigner functions to evaluate the interference effects. The model is adjusted such as to be in accordance with the theoretical prediction for the Λ(1405) in p+p collisions.

We investigate the structure of the Λ(1405) resonance and [Formula: see text] phenomenology in the perspective of chiral SU(3) dynamics. Utilizing the chiral coupled-channel approach which well describes the [Formula: see text] scattering observable, we perform three different analyses to clarify the structure of the Λ(1405) resonance. The results consistently indicate the meson-baryon molecule picture of the Λ(1405). We argue the consequence of the chiral dynamics in [Formula: see text] phenomenology and the antikaon bound state in nucleus, emphasizing the important role of the strong πΣ interaction.

Abstract:
Since the discovery of the Λ(1405), it remains poorly described by conventional constituent quark models, and it is a candidate for having an “exotic” meson-baryon or “penta-quark” structure, similar to states recently reported in the hidden charm sector. The Λ(1405) can be produced in the reaction γp K+Λ(1405). The pure I=0 decay mode into Σ0π0 is prohibited for the mass-overlapping Σ(1385). Combining a large aperture forward magnetic spectrometer and a central BGO crystal calorimeter, the BGO-OD experiment is ideally suited to measure this decay with the K+ in the forward direction. Measurement results of photoproduced excited hyperon states using the CLAS detector at Jefferson Lab are shown. The invariant mass distribution of the Λ(1405) has recently been shown to be different for each of the three Σπ channels that it decays to, showing that there is prominent interference between the isospin I = 0 and I = 1 isospin amplitudes. Measurements of the differential and total cross sections of the three hyperons Λ(1405), Σ0(1385), and Λ(1520) are presented and compared. Abstract:
Excited neutral hyperons Y0* produced in the pp → pK+Y0* reaction with a COSY beam momentum of 3.65 MeV/c have masses below 1540 MeV/c2. The ANKE spectrometer allows the simultaneous observation of different decay modes: Y0* → π0Σ0, π∓Σ±, π0Λ, K-p by measuring kaons and pions of either charge in coincidence with protons. We have found indications for a neutral excited hyperon resonance Y0* with a mass of M(Y0*) = (1480 ± 15) MeV / c 2 and a width of Γ(Y0*) = (60±15) MeV / c 2. The cross section for Y0* is of the order of few hundred nanobarns. It can be either a Σ0 or a Λ hyperon and on the basis of existing data no conclusion could be made whether it is a three–quark baryon or an exotic state. Missing- and invariant–mass techniques have been used to identify the Λ(1405) resonance decaying via Σ0π0. The cross section for Λ(1405) production is equal to (4.5 ± 0.9 stat ± 1.8 syst ) µb. The shape and position of the Λ(1405) distribution are similar to those found from other decay modes, so no support is given to the two-pole model.

We investigate whether the mass and momentum spectra of emitted particles in [Formula: see text] reaction can be used for disentangling the nature of [Formula: see text](1405) and how the signature of the [Formula: see text](1405) resonance appears in the cross-sections of the kaon-lithium reaction on the physical real energy. We used different types of [Formula: see text] potentials to study the dependence of the results to the fundamental kaon-nucleon interaction. The momentum spectra are calculated for final pions and neutrons. The possibility of the observation of the [Formula: see text](1405) resonance in the mass spectra is studied. It was demonstrated that the [Formula: see text] mass and neutron momentum spectra are more suitable than the pion momentum spectra to see the trace of the [Formula: see text](1405) resonance and it is a useful tool for investigating the subthreshold behavior of the [Formula: see text] interaction.

Experimental tests of the Λ(1405) properties are suggested. These could reflect the position and shape of this state in the [Formula: see text] channel. The first test consists in precise determinations of the level widths in the highest accessible K -mesic atom states. One needs to study the dependence of these widths on the binding energy of the valence protons in the involved nuclei. The second test consists in the measurement of radiative transitions from the P-wave atomic hydrogen levels to the Λ(1405) state. In both cases one can study the absorptive part of [Formula: see text] scattering amplitude in the subthreshold region.

Abstract:
We have studied the structure of K-pp by solving this system in a variational method, starting from the ansatz that Λ* = Λ(1405) is a K-p quasi-bound state. The structure of K-pp reveals a molecular feature, namely, the K- in Λ* as an "atomic center" plays a key role in producing strong covalent bonding with the other proton. Deeply bound [Formula: see text] nuclear systems are formed by this "super-strong" nuclear force due to migrating real bosons [Formula: see text]a la Heitler-London-Heisenberg, which overcompensates the stiff nuclear incompressibility. Theoretical background of our phenomenological [Formula: see text] interaction is discussed, in connection with "decaying-state" description of kaonic nuclear clusters, concerning the effective [Formula: see text] interaction based on chiral SU (3) dynamics. It is of virtual importance to determine whether the Λ* mass is 1405 MeV or 1420 MeV. It is found that a K- absorption at rest in 3 He provides a testing ground better than that in 4 He .

Abstract:
The s-wave meson-baryon interaction in the S = -1, S = 0 and S = -2 sectors is studied by means of coupled channels, using the lowest-order chiral Lagrangian and the N/D method or equivalently the Bethe-Salpeter equation to implement unitarity. This chiral approach leads to the dynamical generation of the Λ(1405), Λ(1670) and Σ(1620) states for S = -1, the N*(1535) for S = 0 and the Ξ(1620) for S = -2. We look for poles in the complex plane and extract the couplings of the resonances to the different final states. This allows identifying the Λ(1405) and the Λ(1670) resonances with [Formula: see text] and K Ξ quasibound states, respectively. Our results are found to be incompatible with the measured properties of the Ξ(1690) resonance, thus ruling this state out as the remaining member of this octet of dynamically generated resonances. We therefore assign 1/2- for the spin and parity of the Ξ(1620) resonance as the S = -2 member of the lowest-lying 1/2- octet.

Abstract:
We study for the first time the pΣ− → K−d and its time reversal reaction close to threshold and show that they are driven by a triangle mechanism, with the Λ(1405), a proton and a neutron as intermediate states, which develops a triangle singularity close to the K̅d threshold. As the main result, we find that the cross section, well within measurable range, is very sensitive to different models that, while reproducing K̅N observables above threshold, provide different extrapolations of the K̅N amplitudes below threshold. The observables of this reaction will provide new constraints on the theoretical models, leading to more reliable extrapolations of the K̅N amplitudes below threshold and to more accurate predictions of the Λ(1405) state of lower mass.

Abstract:
The first order self-energy corrections of the kaon in the symmetric nuclear matter are calculated from kaon-nucleon scattering matrix elements using a chiral Lagrangian within the framework of relativistic mean field approximation. It shows that the effective mass and the potential of K+ meson are identical with those of K- meson in the nuclear matter, respectively. The effective mass of the kaon in the nuclear matter decreases with the nuclear density increasing, and is not relevant to the kaon-nucleon Sigma term. The kaon-nucleus potential is positive and increases with the nuclear density. Moreover, the influence of the resonance Λ(1405) on the K--nucleus potential due to the re-scattering term is discussed. Our results indicate the K- meson could not be bound in the nuclei even if the contribution of Λ(1405) resonance is considered.

Abstract:
In this contribution we review a work where we showed how to extract the position of the two Λ(1405) poles from experimental photoproduction data which have been measured recently in the γp → K+π0Σ0 reaction at Jefferson Lab. Using a potential motivated by chiral dynamics but with free parameters, we solve the Bethe Salpeter equation in the coupled channels [Formula: see text] and πΣ in isospin I=0 and parameterize the amplitude for the photonuclear reaction in terms of a linear combination of the πΣ → πΣ and [Formula: see text] scattering amplitudes in I=0, with a different linear combination for each energy. Good fits to the data are obtained which lead to two poles at 1385 - 68i MeV and 1419 - 22i MeV, similar to those found in the chiral unitary approach.
