This diploma work deals with the life and musical aktivity of trombone player and teacher Jaroslav Ušák. I think, that the main chapter is analysis of hand writing "Trombone". It is metodic work, which wasn´t publicated.

This thesis is focused on biography of Bohemian Quartet. This ensemble was during the first quarter of 20th century one of world - class string quartets and members of this chamber music group were significant personalities in many domains.

Czech economic depends on small and medium enterprises that represent 99.84 % of all active Czech enterprises. Every single region in the Czech Republic is strongly interconnected with SMEs. Every entrepreneurial subject similarly to every person has its parent the founder that set up, managed and developed the business. Despite the enormous progress the humans have made one thing we cannot change and that is the simple time going by and with it related growing old and mortality of humans. There always comes the time in the life of every business founder to leave their business. Further existence of the business unit depends on what exit path the entrepreneur-founder chooses and how he handles this process. Its further existence is the key for the stability of economics and influences the inhabitants' welfare in the region, the business unit comes from. The enterprise can lose or earn much when the founder leaves. The leadership change is a huge intervention in functioning enterprise, and becomes a milestone in its next existence. The European Commission's Directorate General Enterprise and Industry stated that "Approximately one third of European enterprises will need to be transferred to the next generation in the coming 10 years. This means that an average of 610 000 small and medium-sized enterprises will be changing hands each year, potentially affecting 2.4 million jobs." Considering this I carried out the first research among the Czech entrepreneurs about their exit from their businesses so far. Based on this research I can state that the question of entrepreneurial exit is topical for interviewees. More than a half of respondents applied themselves to this question more or less, however only 30 % of them are prepared for the entrepreneur's exit and have a prepared plan. Next 30 % of respondents' firms are endangered by sudden incident because they have no plan for the case of the entrepreneur's exit. One half of interviewees that have already thought about heir exit would like to leave their business in a 5-year-horrizons. Whether the entrepreneur addresses his entrepreneurial exit or not depends mainly on his age, time spent by building the business and the number of employees. The entrepreneurs are attached to their businesses and they retire only reluctantly. The least of interviewees (only 2 % of entrepreneurs) would choose the complete transfer to another family member, i. e. not only passing the manager's post but also the whole ownership share. On the contrary most of the respondents would like to keep at least some ownership share and pass only the control over the firm. Some of the exit path factors are the entrepreneur's age, motivation to set up the business, current situation and expected future progress of the firm, and engagement of other family members within the business. All interviewees that had clear plan of their entrepreneurial exit and would choose passing the business to other family member were pushed into starting the business. When the respondents perceived the current business situation as positive they preferred such exit path that their business would survive. At the same time they would not choose business liquidation when they expected positive further development of the firm. Out of 14 respondents that would like to pass the control to their family member, 65 % stated that other family members were engaged in the business. The higher the age of the entrepreneur the higher the probability that the leaving entrepreneur will pass their business to their family member in some way.

The aim of my paper is a critical examination of the thesis, held by Czech public professionals, that Karel Havlíček Borovský was the founder of Czech economic thinking. I begin with the premise that Havlíček was primarily an economic journalist with a basic knowledge of liberal thinking, which he wanted to interpret for the general Czech public in his articles, in order to familiarize the upcoming "Czech national movement" with the basics of economic theory. Based on the methodology of the History of Ideas, I want to show how liberalism looked in the Czech region of the 19th Century, to focus on the social stratification of Czech society and illustrate the difference between a scientist and journalist. In my work, I want to not only deal with That Havlíček wrote in his texts, but would also like to take into account an analysis of the interests of the "Czech national movement" in the 19th Century.

The present thesis focuses on founding and evolution of information technology startups. Special attention is given to the personality of the founder and the options of financing a startup in the Czech Republic. A survey among the students of the University of Economics, Prague regarding the general awareness of the issues related to the founding of a startup and the main obstacles to it is an integral part of the thesis. The main contribution of the thesis is a method for building up the IT startups, which may serve as a hand-book for potential future founders. As a secondary contribution, this thesis serves as a compact overview of the issues related to startups, especially to the person of the founder and financing possibilities in the Czech Republic.

The diploma thesis „Trust in the Czech Republic“ deals with new institute in Czech law legislation. The first part is focused on theoretical knowledge of the Trust Fund, it is history and similar institutions based abroad. The second part deals with the process of establishment of the Trust and show methodical instructions for the system of taxation of income related to the operation of the Trust Fund.

In the preceding chapters we examined the relationship between the church and its founder from several perspectives. Various forms of the relationship changed over the 13th and 14th centuries, however their content persisted. Patrons' claims expressed themselves in various domains. A feudal claim on the church property also resulted from the ownership of land itself. As a matter of fact, a whole set of founder's rights is concerned. The public function of churches was not impaired thereby. It did not consist in the realm of property, but only resulted from the parochial function, which the founders did not intend to impair by any means. Ecclesiastical supervision over priests' prebends and the church property did not constitute a transition of this property to ecclesiastical ownership in today's connotation, since the Church as a private legal subject did not exist in the Middle Ages. Nor the founders were the owners to all intents and purposes. The property belonging to the church or prebend was a foundation. Its purpose was to ensure the continuous operation of the church and parish administration, which mattered to both sides, the establishment and the Church. The diploma thesis describes the role of Montessori schools in a small town. In large cities, the range of educational opportunities is more varied; in a small town, Montessori schools are often the only alternative to regular primary schools. For the purpose of the research, the qualitative design of the multi-case study was chosen. Two schools participated in the research. Through in-depth interviews with five parents, four teachers and two school founders, initial expectations and their fulfillment were identified from the perspective of all groups of respondents. Parents expect a friendly and safe environment, an individual approach, and respect for the child, a cooperative environment, a stimulating way of teaching, support for the children's internal motivation, freedom and responsibility at the same time. Teachers' expectations consisted in the possibility of applying alternative ways of teaching with regard to the individuality of the pupil, respecting the approach and cooperating team. This diploma thesis aims to analyze the issue of one of the most significant congressional powers found in Article I., Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution. Congressional power to regulate interstate commerce has been instrumental to the federal government's legislative efforts in many areas of law. This constitutional provision enabled the Congress to react to the changing conditions and new problems the country has been facing, especially in the area of working conditions, civil rights, criminal justice or even environmental law and many others. The expansion of power of the federal government, however, was not always greeted with enthusiasm, especially in the first three decades of the 20th century, before the Supreme Court began to read the commerce power much more broadly, to the point that it ceased to be a factual limitation of its powers. This trend was meant to be stopped by the New Federalism movement and the five new conservative justices who issued rulings that limited the scope of the Commerce Clause. However, this group of justices proved to be very inconsistent in its own approach toward this constitutional provision and eventually fell apart, which rendered Rehnquist's attempted constitutional revolution with respect to state's rights partly a failure. The thesis focuses on introducing the personality of the choirmaster Milan Uherek, a founder of the Severáček children's choir. In the first chapters, it tries to capture the importance and specifics of children's choir singing in the pedagogical sphere (with respect to ethical, esthetical and hygienic aspects) and in the specialized, educational sphere. They show that the success of choir work and internal harmony of the choir are dependent on the choirmaster's personality. The following chapters therefore deal with the description of professional, character and organisational prerequisites that should be represented in the choirmaster's personality. Based on the identified general findings, the personality of Milan Uherek is introduced, his life story and lifelong artistic activity associated particularly with the foundation and leadership of the Severáček children's choir. The last chapters of the thesis try to capture both musical and non-musical principles on which Milan Uherek built the many-year successful activity and existence of his choir.

Šumava a konkrétně Sušicko s hradem Kašperkem si mě natrvalo získalo už před mnoha lety, když jsem na hradě Kašperku začala pracovat jako průvodkyně. Strávila jsem tam s přáteli nejedno léto i zimu, ať už jako průvodkyně nebo brigádník v době, kdy se hrad intenzívně rekonstruoval, a zajímala se o historii regionu. Když jsem si měla vybrat téma diplomové práce, bylo jasné, že se musí týkat dějin této oblasti. Původně jsme s vedoucím diplomové práce PhDr. Bohdanem Zilynským uvažovali o zpracování tématu širšího, a to České regionální historiografie na Sušičku. Jak ale práce na tomto tématu postupovala, ukázalo se, že Josef Ambrož Gabriel byl osobností vskutku zakladatelskou, přesto však o něm dodnes kromě několika menších prací neexistuje monografie, která by shrnovala nové poznatky o jeho životě a díle. Proto jsem se nakonec rozhodla věnovat se podrobněji právě tomuto prvnímu významnému historiografovi Sušická. Zaměřila jsem se především na jeho dílo, i když jeho strhující životní osud jsem nemohla vynechat.

The diploma thesis deals with the processes taking place in setting up alternative schools and reflects the founders'views on the start-up process as well as their satisfaction with the outcome. The theoretical part introduces the important alternative directions in education, brings forward the principles of how free and democratic schools work, presents some personalities associated with the educational alternative and briefly mentions selected platforms and concepts based on the principles of respect for the individual. The empirical part analyses interviews with the founders of five alternative schools on their reasons for setting up the school and their appreciation of the proces. The main techniques for data collection are in-depth semi-structured interviews. Given the research objective a qualitative approach inspired by phenomenological investigation and grounded theory was used and subsequently the card interpretation technique. There are several reasons for setting up alternative schools, the main one seems to be the need to provide current generation of children a school which would support their talents, gives them the individual approach and where their opinion would be respected. This diploma thesis deals with the important composer from Kutná Hora, the author of several pieces for children and especially the creator of children's opera Marie Kučerová-Herbstová (1896-1962). The individual chapters deal with composer's personal life, professional activities, ties to Kutná Hora as well as her work and provide closer look at the children's operas she created.

The diploma thesis The legacy of Wilhelm Reich and its reflexion in the work of the founders of Bioenergetics, Biosynthesis and Biodynamic psychology is devoted to a comparison of the most important theoretical concepts and therapeutic techniques of Wilhelm Reich with the methods of the founders of selected psychotherapeutic approaches that draw from his work. These are the founder of Bioenergetics Alexander Lowen, founder of the Biosynthesis David Boadella and founder of Biodynamic Psychology Gerda Boyesen. These authors created distinct therapeutic approaches based on Reich's concepts that significantly shaped the field of the Body- Psychotherapy. The first part explains the technique of Character-Analysis and Vegetotherapy, the Orgasm Theory (the role of sexuality in the etiology of neurosis), a typology of Character structures, the Orgonomic Research and principles of the Orgonomic Functionalism, which Reich defined and used in practice. There is briefly introduced the history of the development within the Neoreichian movement (Reich pupils and followers) in the second half of the 20th century. Trusts with special regard to their foundation and administration Abstract The purpose of my thesis is to analyse foundation and administration of trusts in the Czech Civile Code with respect to the main theoretical issues such as essencialia, naturatia and accidentalia negotii of the primary foundation legal document with is called "statut". I also concentrate on the status of beneficiary, but mainly on the rights and duties of the administrator of the trust. The reason for my research is to develop a system concerning the elementary questions relating to the legal life of the trust, to tackle main theoretical problems and to distinguish between significant phases of its existence and its admninistration. The thesis is composed of three chapters, Chapter Two being most detailed. Chapter one which is subdivided into three parts is dealing with preliminary questions such as the concept of trust and its history and international variation of similar institutes such as fiducie, treuhand and common law trust. The work focuses on the emergence of therapeutic communities for drug addicts in the Czech Republic. Describes the history of addiction treatment in 1989 and subsequently the emerging system of care for drug addicts in 1989. It charts the evolution of the concept of therapeutic community and using the oral history brings experience and individual stories of each of the founders of therapeutic communities.

The aim of this thesis is to describe the life and work of St. Zdislava and St. Agnes of Bohemia. In the first part, there is a description of biographies of both saints, their vocation in life, charity and foundation work, their life-works. The second part compares the differences between St. Zdislava and St. Agnes of Bohemia and vice versa, it mentions their commonalities, further it describes motivation and source of strength St. Zdislava and St. Agnes of Bohemia for their foundation and charity activities. The conclusion is devoted to the reference and relevance of the topic of marriage and religious life today.

The thesis deals with F. František Xaver Paleček´s work and his historical legacy to the Czech society. The author depicts František Xaver Paleček´s life, but separated and fundamental work lies finally in the elaboration of his pastoral activity in the region. His numerous sermons, his confessional, club,pedagogical and charitable activities, which made F. Paleček famous during his life already, mainly during his 24-year-work in a Central Bohemian village Kovářov, are analysed there. The thesis also tries to find out his political opinions and his material background as well. It follows his everyday steps in the region. At the end of the thesis it is pointed to F. Paleček´s life after death in memories of many contemporaries, and to his authority in social-spiritual events in the region for decades ahead. This thesis has been worked out on the base of up to now non-published archival sources. Formaly published literature, once secretly printed articles and memories helped to create the frame of the work in the second line, mainly there, where the primary sources did not offer the continuity.

The aim of this thesis is to introduce all changes, that occurred in the Presidential office since February 1948 until the death of Klement Gottwald. After the short introduction, which gives us insight into the so called the Foundation period of Communism and into the life of Klement Gottwald and his wife Marta, follows the opening chapter about the situation in the Presidential office after the February 1948. It introduces two great topics, which would be examined in the next chapters - staff question and organization of the office. The thesis is closed by the chapter about the role of the Prague castle and Gottwald himself in 1948-1953. Books about this era describe mostly the general characteristics of the period and of Klement Gottwald himself. They are not paying attention to the Presidential office. Only one of the persecuted employees wrote a biography - Miroslav Jirásek. I used mostly the books of Karel Kaplan. The memoirs of Ladislav Novák (chancellor of Antonín Zápotocký, Antonín Novotný and Ludvík Svoboda) were very useful for the description of the situation after the death of Klement Gottwald. The thesis "Electoral Geography of Postcommunist Countries in Central and Eastern Europe" deals with the topic of electoral geography, which is a part of the political geography. The basic hypothesis of the paper is based on opinion that the postcommunist countries experienced the twenty years of development in the postcommunist period which made their electoral geography very similar to one in Western Europe. This hypothesis is proved by three different areas of electoral geography. The first part is composed by the analysis of the electoral geography of the founding elections in the 17 postcommunist countries (including the GDR). In the paper is proposed after the research of all 17 countries the categorization of founding elections on the basis of electoral geography. The second part examines the electoral geography of capitals. The research is focused on the size of the lectorate in the capital compare to the whole country, on the diverhgence of electoral results in the capital and in the whole state and on strength of the party families in capitals. Folowing these three areas is proposed the catehorisation of the postcommunist capitals into the five groups. The third part deals with variability of the electoral results inside the state.

The work focuses on molecular genetic testing of patients with Usher syndrome to confirm the diagnosis, to determine the causal cause of the disease and describe new mutations causing Usher syndrome in Czech patients. Usher syndrome is a clinically and genetically heterogeneous disease that is the most common cause of hereditary deafblindness. Based on responsible genes and disease onset is classified into three clinical subtypes. Given the fact that there is currently no specific treatment, there is a need to understand the pathophysiology of this disease and to broaden the spectrum of causal mutations. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the anatomy of the eye, especially the structure of the retina. Attention is also paid to retinal diseases, such as the progressive loss of vision characteristic for retinitis pigmentosa (RP). RP may occur either as an isolated disorder or also affecting other organs, so-called syndromic RP. Classic syndromic RP includes Usher's syndrome, which the work mainly deals with. Electoral System Choice in the Context of the Democratic Transition and Consolidation Diploma thesis examines the influence of exogenous factors on motivation and preferences of electoral reform actors based on their power position and value-driven approach in Czechoslovakia. It deals with the relation among mode of transition, the electoral reform type and the electoral system type as outcome for the founding elections. It attempts to identify the difference of conditions for electoral system change during the democratic transition and the consolidation in Czechia; to compare their exogenous factors. It also examines which values were emphasized by electoral reform actors and which values were embodied by their preferred electoral systems. It classifies the type of electoral reform process. It also provides the overview of chosen electoral system parameters and evolution of its changes.

Descartes' Conception of the First Principles RNDr. Bc. Pavel KŘÍŽEK Master's degree thesis, Prague, June 2017 Summary In this Master's thesis, seven interpretations of Descartes' Cogito are reviewed. The introductory chapter presents a brief explanation of the origin and development of Descartes' views on the role of the first philosophical principles, in fact, the principles of certain knowledge, that is, principles understood by him as the necessary and indispensable starting point for laying the foundations of all science. First - naturally - Descartes' own diverse formulations of Cogito are reproduced. Then, based on relevant text and (their) broader context, all Descartes' necessary concepts and terms concerning Cogito are systematically explained. The second chapter, which is the core of the entire study, contains short reviews of seven interpretations of Descartes' Cogito as presented in a number of established academic publications as well as in more recent papers. Every review is then briefly commented on.
