The main actor of lifelong learning (LLL) is a learner. It is important to assess and support their entire learning -- i.e. to value learning -- not only that occurring within formal education system but non-formal and informal learning as well. However, non-formal and informal learning outcomes have been not certified by certificates recognized by society as a whole yet. Moreover, informal learning occurs without curricula and teaching. These are the reasons why it is technically necessary to develop suitable instruments and schemes for recognizing learning outcomes which enable implementation of the LLL system. With regard to implementation of the LLL system in the Czech Republic, there are realized various projects and initiatives, national and sector equivalents of European instruments are created or European instruments for implementation of the European LLL concept are introduced (the National occupations system, the National qualifications framework, a system of recognition non-formal and informal learning outcomes, the Law no. 179/2006, Coll. on recognition of further education outcomes, the European Credit transfer system for Vocational Education and Training). The paper is concerned with opportunities and obstacles in the way of implementation of all the instruments mentioned above into LLL concept of the Czech Republic.

Cílem této diplomové práce je uvést do problematiky vzdělanostních nerovností, prezentovat v současné době nejvýznamnější mezinárodní projekt v oblasti měření výsledků vzdělávání (PISA) a především přiblížit nejmodernější trendy měření výsledků vzdělávání, na jejichž principech je celý projekt vybudován. Hlavním cílem pak je pokusit se na základě aktuálních výsledků posledního výzkumu PISA 2003 identifikovat vzdělanostní nerovnosti, zdroje jejich reprodukce a vysvětlit princip jejich fungování v České republice. První část práce (kapitoly 1-2) se věnuje obecnému úvodu do vzdělanostních nerovností. Vysvětluje pojetí spravedlnosti ve vzdělávání a zasazuje vzdělanostní nerovnosti do sociologického kontextu. Jsou zde nastíněny nejdůležitější přístupy, teorie a koncepce vysvětlující vzdělanostní nerovnosti a detailněji je popsán sociálně-psychologický model sociální stratifikace. Dále jsou zde základní informace o českém vzdělávacím systému a mezinárodní komparace se zeměmi OECD. Druhá část práce (kapitoly 3-4) přibližuje mezinárodní projekt PISA, na jehož nejnovějších datech jsou postaveny prováděné analýzy. Kapitola 3 představuje projekt jako celek a seznamuje s jeho cíly, metodami, koncepcí, prezentací jeho výsledků a se vzorkem testovaných žáků. Kapitola 4 se věnuje teorii měření výsledků vzdělávání a popisuje řešení některých problémů v jednotlivých fázích výzkumu. Závěrečná část práce (kapitoly 5-7) vychází z reálných dat výzkumu. Kapitola 5 prezentuje základní výsledky výzkumu PISA za rok 2003 v oblasti matematické, čtenářské a přírodovědné gramotnosti a kapitola 6 provádí analýzy jednotlivých veličin a vztahů mezi nimi za účelem určení vlivu socioekonomického zázemí žáků na jejich výsledky ve škole, identifikace rozdílů mezi různě organizovanými vzdělávacími systémy a především zodpovězení otázek týkajících se separace žáků do různých typů škol. Kapitola 7 je pak zaměřena na analýzu výsledků českých žáků. Na základě rozdílů mezi jednotlivými typy škol vypovídá o selektivitě českého vzdělávacího systému a zkoumá faktory formující aspirace žáků na terciární vzdělávání.

This diploma thesis deals with the quality of education and possibilities of its measuring. Primarily it is focused on the assessment Programme for International Student Assessment. The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out whether significant regional disparities could be identified and to reveal potential factors influencing the causes of these disparities. Education is generally considered to be important factor of regional development and the way how to improve economic and social situation of the region. Theoretical part of the diploma thesis describes definitions of the basic concepts, the role of education in theories of the regional development, issue of education quality and background of PISA project. The thesis is composed of two parts . The theoretical part describes the basic terms and definitions of the education, presents analysis of approaches to evaluating the quality and effectiveness of further education, including explanations of specific models and evaluation methods which measure the impact of training on person or on the company in general. The empirical part deals with the analysis of the evaluation system of education in practice, particularly in two companies (Wrigley, Staropramen Brewery) and five secondary schools. In the theoretical part of this thesis the term occupational therapy is explained, as is the work of an occupational therapist, the possibilities of his application and the influence of occupational therapy on results of children in Primary School. The goal of this thesis is to collect the findings of occupational therapists and explain how occupational therapy impacts school results. The theoretical part acquaints laymen with the particulars of working as an occupational therapist and suggests the importance of occupational therapy. Dialogue and direct unstructured observation are used as research methods. This is a qualitative survey. Interviews focused mainly on the results of occupational therapy were conducted with professional occupational therapists as a part of the research. Four case studies oriented on younger children were fashioned next. Those studies combined occupational therapy and its influence with school results in children in Primary School. Interviews with occupational therapists, pedagogues and mothers were also part of the case studies. Based on our findings, occupational therapy can be acknowledged as very advantageous therapy with significant impact on school results in children in Primary School. Progress is especially obvious in fine motor skills, which are practised during occupational therapy, and its regular exercising improves the proficiency in children, especially while writing, drawing, painting or doing cut outs. Occupational therapy helps clients improve skills they find difficult to master and it should become an integral part of caring for mentally or physically handicapped children and contribute to achieving better school results.

This dissertation investigates whether video games are able to affect players' attitudes and information behaviour towards depicted historical topics in games over the short- and long-term. We collected data from a sample of 148 young adults. As far as we know, there is currently no study of such a scale focused on historical games. We used, as an intervention tool, a modification of the serious game Czechoslovakia 38-89: Borderlands that deals with the expulsion of the Sudeten Germans from the former Czechoslovakia after WWII. The game is based on historical research providing players with multiple perspectives on the depicted topics. Our control group played a similar game, but where the narrative was unrelated to any depicted historical event from Czechoslovakia 38-89: Borderlands. In the empirical part of the study, we measured explicit and implicit attitude change and information behaviour change towards the expulsion of the Sudeten Germans. Results showed more negative pretest-posttest explicit attitude changes towards the expulsion on a general level (d = -0.34; p = .022) and a specific level (d = -0.53; p = .001) in the experimental group compared to the control group. The aim of the diploma thesis is to compare public and private high school system with respect to selected data. Firstly, conceptions of quality in education, the inspection of the quality based on the Czech School Inspectorate (ČŠI), international tests or the quality school criteria given by the ČŠI will be characterized in the theoretical part. The high school system in Czechia with respect to the establisher, the historical development, the offer of disciplines, the relationship with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MŠMT) and financing will be described. It will be characterized the private school system at an international level to compare studies comparing public and private schools. The chapter about equal educational opportunities in conditions of Czech schools will be added too. Educational conditions and results in the selected period (2017-2019) will be analyzed in the analytical part. For the purposes of the analysis, the quality school criteria will be used. The aim of this study was to investigate, whether the aspect of interactivity (meaning problem solving interactivity) implemented in multimedia learning materials would positively influence learning outcomes of students. The third and fourth-grade pupils had been split up in two groups and they learned about a topic of natural sciences for about 20 minutes. The first group were studying from an interactive material - short educational game. The second group were studying from a noniteractive material - short educational animation. As variables we have chosen the following - the learning outcomes of the pupils, the amount of motivation to manipulate with the educational tool and the evaluation of atractivity of this tool. Based on multimedia learning theories (CTML, CATLM), we assumed that interactivity would enhance the extent of motivation, evaluation of atractivity and the learning outcomes. Our results partially confirmed our hypothesis. We found positive effect on motivation and evaluation, nevertheless we found no effect on learning outcomes - there was no difference between the groups within this domain. The thesis comprises of the historical introduction of the state supervision over schools in Bohemia and the extent of competency of the Czech School Inspectorate, which is currently conducting the schools external evaluation. The CSI provides the feedback to the schools through the inspection reports and the feedback to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports through the annual reports. The dissertation examines the compliance of the contents of the inspection reports and the strategical documents of the Ministry of Education.

Diploma thesis deals with the evaluation of results in global development education. It describes bases and content of global development education and its expected results. It compares quantitative and qualitative methods of measuring results considering their ability to measure real contribution of the evaluated activity. It highlights the need to demonstrate the validity and reliability of a measurement. It explains the role of values, criteria and indicators in the evaluation. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the measurement of contribution specifically in the area of global development education. It provides an overview of measurements made in global development education according to their validity. It also offers a list of quality criteria used in global development education. The research part of the thesis presents the results of an investigation which aimed to determine how selected Czech organizations dealing with global development education evaluate the results of their activities. It tries to determine what facilitates the evaluation of results and what represents a barrier to it. Pre-school education improves cognitive and non-cognitive skills of children, and the positive effects persist to adulthood. The literature provides rich ev- idence of beneficial effects of pre-school, some of them even causal. However, most studies come from the US, and the research lacks a comprehensive pic- ture of European countries concerning pre-school education. I contribute to the research by providing a comparison of European countries regarding pre- school attendance, pre-school skills, and test scores in fourth grade. In Section ??, I focus on the Czech Republic. The results show that more educated moth- ers are more likely to send children to pre-school. In most countries, children with stronger pre-school skills achieve higher results on standardized tests in fourth grade, which supports the idea of the existence of the Matthew effect. In the Czech Republic, pre-school attendance may increase fourth-grade test scores by 0.3 SD. The most important pre-school skill is the ability to read, which is associated with an increase in fourth-grade math achievement of 0.2 SD. The results contribute to the literature on pre-school education in Eu- rope; however, they should not be interpreted causally, as they are essentially a description of the pre-school context in Europe. 1

This thesis focuses on the indicators of quality of education. The indicators are learning exercises the aim of which is to prove whether the tested pupils reached the level of knowledge defined by the national curriculum and listed in the Framework Education Programme. While learning Chemistry, the students should master the key competencies and educational objectives from the education area "Man and Nature" and further from the subject of Chemistry. The thesis focuses on the evidence of reaching the educational goals in Chemistry within the scope of General Chemistry. Since the level of knowledge defined by the Framework Education Programme is not very specific, the author of this thesis decided to settle the educational goals for the subject of General Chemistry based on the study of expert literature and curricular documents. Furthermore, the author also suggests a system of indicators which can be used to verify reaching these goals by the pupils of the secondary schools. The thesis also includes one of the models of working with such indicators. The indicator system was first assessed by a focus group (Chemistry teachers and experts in Didactics of Chemistry). The topic of this diploma thesis is the development of the policy of inclusive education in the Czech Republic from the 1990s to 2018. Its objective is to describe this development and at least partially clarify the reasons for the controversy created by this policy and the increase in the public interest about this topic after the amendment of the education law in 2015. Using the process tracing method, it is testing if these reasons can be described by the theory of the advocacy coalition framework. The work finds out that considering the set hypotheses the explanation using this theory cannot be disproved. During this testing, main actors are identified and divided into advocacy coalitions. Therefore, an overview of the theory of advocacy coalition framework is included in this work, set in the context of the inclusive education policy, together with a quantitative media analysis looking at the number of relevant articles in the three most-read newspapers, a description of the interviews with the involved actors and an extensive qualitative analysis of available resources. The thesis focuses on eating habits of adolescents and their knowledge of nutrition. In the theoretical part, the bio-psycho-social development of growing up individuals is characterized. From the nutritional behaviour's point of view, factors are mentioned that may influence eating habits of individuals along with nutritional recommendations for adolescent individuals. Data from research focused on nutritional behaviour of adolescents conducted in Czech republic and the consequences of insufficient and excessive nutrition is included into the theoretical part. The last part clarifies the implementation of nutritional themes into the Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education and education programmes and projects focusing on supporting healthy eating habits intended for schools. Goal of the practical part is to map the eating habits and knowledge of eight and ninth grade second stage students of three primary schools in Prague and third and fourth grade students of two grammar schools. To test this goal, the quantitative approach of questionnaire survey and qualitative methods of analysis of school curricula were used. The research shows that the Czech School Inspectorate has the positive impact on management in the kindergartens, it gives the essential feedback to the kindergarten headmasters. The headmasters consider the CSI evaluation to be the further step in their work. The determined conclusions are the results of the questionnaire to the headmasters, the analysis of inspection reports as the outcome of CSI activities in selected kindergartens in the region of Lanškroun. This master thesis introduces the issue of individual concepts that affect the psychological and motor processes, occurring at people with physical disabilities. It addresses the definition of the basic concepts within both historical and present context. The thesis considers what kind of connection and relationships exist behind the failures of the body scheme and the human psyche, and in greater detail deals with methods that work to improve the quality of life for a person with a physical disability. The research part establishes the situation of comprehensive rehabilitation in the Czech Republic. It is developed according to the preliminary areas: lifelong learning, the status of the comprehensive rehabilitation and procedures used in caring for a person with a physical disability. The study focuses on problems which appear to be fundamental in primary school education. The work si centred on reading and readerś literacy in primary school. It provides a more comprehensive view of the current issues of educational policy - fairness in school education, language training, integration of troubled students, integration of immigrants and the position of teacher. Looking into and Evaluation Quallity, Efficiency and Effects of Further Education A thesis centers upon description and comparison of methods that gain a feedback in the field of the quality of further education. It considers both institutions providing further education and institutions/organisations (e.g. schools, offices of public administration) representing source of participants of further education courses. A theoretical part the thesis compares well known methods reporting on the quality and effectivity of further education in a view of both a provider and a customer. A research aims for an analysis of gaining a feedback in the field of further education from 50 providing institutions and 340 institutions/organizations in a role of a customer. Those 340 institutions/organizations include 32 offices of public administrative and another 308 publicly figuring organizations (e.g. schools). This part of the thesis also presents positives and negatives of chosen methods. A conclusion of the thesis summarizes findings and provides recommendations for both surveyed groups.

This thesis deals with uniform maths entrance examination for secondary school studies in education fields with a graduate exam. Thus, all primary school pupils applying for this form of secondary education will take the same tests prepared by Centre for Results in Education. The work includes an analysis of pupil's solutions of selected problematic tasks. A significant proportion of the tested pupils were found to have difficulties in dealing with the selected tasks. The last part of the work contains a collection of tasks that was created on the bases of the results obtained when testing pupils.

The goal of this diploma thesis is to give an overview of how secondary schools participate on these strategic plans. The topic of the adult lifelong learning at secondary schools is approached mainly in connection with the Act 179/2006 Coll. describing validation and recognition of further learning results. The thesis concentrates on unintended consequences of putting emphasis on education in the current society and their impacts on labour market success of school graduates as well as on fulfilment of employers needs from the perspective of occupying job positions in accordance with the demographic aging of the population. The thesis is trying to answer the question, if education has an adequate influence on the social mobility as it was in the recent past. The author is also trying to suggest possible solutions of the situation occurred on the labour market from the viewpoint of the qualified labour shortage with lower educational level, especially in the secondary sector. Possibilities are seen in the consistent assertion of the LLL conception, increasing the relevance of the education content and adapting to the changing requirements of qualifications through of cooperation between schools and employers. Last but not least the thesis also draws attention to the need of relevant information about the labour market development and chances of graduates to find a job in the chosen field.
