Purpose Online video advertisement is a wide-ranging phenomenon on the internet that provides huge opportunities for business enterprises. The revenues of website service providers come primarily from advertisement. However, it is rare to find research focusing on consumer attitudes toward online video advertisement. This study aims to investigate consumer attitudes toward advertisement while they are watching online videos on YouTube. Design/methodology/approach The paper followed Brackett and Carr’s (2001) Web Advertising Attitudes Model and combined it with the theory of reasoned action (TRA) and the flow theory. This study investigates consideration of the factors affecting attitudes toward advertisement and the influence on shopping intention and purchase behavior. Findings The findings indicate that entertainment, informativeness, irritation and credibility have a shopping influence on purchase attitudes. Flow, on the other hand, does have an influence on shopping intention and purchase behavior. The discussion and conclusion have been further discussed. Originality/value This study provides a comprehensive model for online video advertisement. This model was based on Brackett and Carr’s model, combining the users and gratifications theory, TRA and flow theory to develop an online video advertisement model. Researchers can consider this model as a framework and use it to capture a more complete picture of the relevant phenomena in their works.

It is important subject to manage the massive videos quickly and accurately. This paper tries to use Hadoop cloud platform for massive video data storage, transcoding and retrieval. The key technologies of cloud computing and Hadoop are introduced firstly in the paper. Then, we analyze the functions of video management platform, such as user management, videos storage, videos transcoding, and videos retrieval. According to the basic functions and cloud computing, each module design process and figure are provided in the paper. The massive videos management system based on cloud platform will be better than the traditional videos management system in the aspects of storage capacity, transcoding performance and retrieval speed.

This study explored women’s views on the Star Wars merchandise that is marketed to them when the franchise merchandise as a whole is predominantly marketed to males. The study aimed to look at the satisfaction, involvement and utilitarian value that female consumers have when shopping for women’s Star Wars merchandise in order to make the comparison as described by the theoretical framework of expectancy disconfirmation. The researchers conducted semi-structured, one-on-one video interviews with eight participants who were recruited from a Star Wars-focused group on Facebook. The results of the study revealed that although the participants had certain expectations with women’s Star Wars merchandise, they were disappointed in what was being offered to them in stores. The participants experienced negative disconfirmation as the perceived performance of the women’s Star Wars merchandise did not meet their expectations, resulting in dissatisfaction.

In the construction process of smart cities, more and more video surveillance systems have been deployed for traffic, office buildings, shopping malls, and families. Thus, the security of video surveillance systems has attracted more attention. At present, many researchers focus on how to select the region of interest (RoI) accurately and then realize privacy protection in videos by selective encryption. However, relatively few researchers focus on building a security framework by analyzing the security of a video surveillance system from the system and data life cycle. By analyzing the surveillance video protection and the attack surface of a video surveillance system in a smart city, we constructed a secure surveillance framework in this manuscript. In the secure framework, a secure video surveillance model is proposed, and a secure authentication protocol that can resist man-in-the-middle attacks (MITM) and replay attacks is implemented. For the management of the video encryption key, we introduced the Chinese remainder theorem (CRT) on the basis of group key management to provide an efficient and secure key update. In addition, we built a decryption suite based on transparent encryption to ensure the security of the decryption environment. The security analysis proved that our system can guarantee the forward and backward security of the key update. In the experiment environment, the average decryption speed of our system can reach 91.47 Mb/s, which can meet the real-time requirement of practical applications.

Abandoned object/luggage is a major threat in all public scenes like hospitals, railway stations, airports and shopping malls. Abandoned luggage may contain explosive, biological warfare or smuggled goods. Abandoned object detection is the process to identify the unattended strange object within a specific time. It is also crucial to identify the person who has abandoned the luggage in the scene. Video surveillance is one of the essential techniques for automatic video analysis to extract crucial information or relevant scenes. The main objectives of this work is the automatic detection of abandoned objects and related persons in public areas like airports, railway stations, shopping malls etc. Video enhancement techniques like residual dense networks are adopted to improve the quality of the image before applying it to detect the abandoned objects and related humans. The scenario of abandoned objects and related humans are identified through distance differencing methods. Once the scene is identified, the method is capable of producing alert messages or alarms in real-time through automated means. A fuzzy rule based threat assessment module is also incorporated in this work which reduces the false alarm rate. The related person is identified through reconstruction of the face through super-resolution techniques. Experiments are found to be appreciable in terms of the metrics in video enhancement, detection, fuzzification and face super-resolution.

The research objective of this study is to find out the influence and how much the influence of Shopee’s In-Feed Native Video Ad on TikTok App toward Audience Attitude. This study focuses on Shopee’s In-Feed Native Video advertising “9.9 Super Shopping Day” version on TikTok by involving one independent variable which is advertising (Variable X) measured using sub variables which are heard word, color, music, picture, seen word and movement. Dependent variable which is Audience Attitude (Variable Y) measured with cognitive,affective and conative aspect. The method used in this study is quantitative with data collection techniques through surveys to 400 respondents, which are followers of the @shopee_id account on the TikTok application. The results showed that the influence of the Advertising variable (X) on the Audience Attitude variable (Y) was 58,6%. While the remaining 41,4% is influenced by other factors not examined. The t test results show that the advertising variable (X) has a t value greater than the t table value because t count (23.742)> t table (1.96),then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. This means that Shopee’s In-Feed Native Video Ad “9.9 Super Shopping Day” version on TikTok App have an impact on audience attitude.

The face is seen as a key component of the human body, and humans utilise it to identify one another. Face detection in video refers to the process of detecting a person's face from a video sequence, while face tracking refers to the process of tracking the person's face throughout the video. Face detection and tracking has become a widely researched issue due to applications such as video surveillance systems and identifying criminal activity. However, working with videos is tough due to problems such as bad illumination, low resolution, and atypical posture, among others. It is critical to produce a fair analysis of various tracking and detection strategies in order to fulfil the goal of video tracking and detection. Closed-circuit television (CCTV) technology had a significant impact on how crimes were investigated and solved. The material used to review crime scenes was CCTV footage. CCTV systems, on the other hand, just offer footage and do not have the ability to analyse it. In this research, we propose a system that can be integrated with the CCTV footage or any other video input like webcam to detect, recognise, and track a person of interest. Our system will follow people as they move through a space and will be able to detect and recognise human faces. It enables video analytics, allowing existing cameras to be combined with a system that will recognise individuals and track their activities over time. It may be used for remote surveillance and can be integrated into video analytics software and CCTV security solutions as a component. It may be used on college campuses, in offices, and in shopping malls, among other places.

Abstract The present paper takes an ethnomethodological and conversation analytical perspective on assisted shopping as it is done by a person with acquired brain injury in collaboration with her caregiver. My interest is directed towards the interactional and embodied organization of the situated selecting and decision-making processes, while I am aiming to understand the interactional organization of assistance and agency. The embodied interaction analysis is based on two video-recorded examples in which a caregiver treats the institutional resident’s shopping choice as either unproblematic or undesirable. I will differentiate five phases in which the participants systematically organize the selection process. In these phases, the participants take different roles either as shopper or as assistant caregiver; as to the later, I will distinguish between moral and instrumental assistance. The analysis demonstrates an inherent tension in the assistance during shopping activities, as it is oriented to both the incompetence that justifies the need for assistance and to the interactional construction of a competent and independent shopper.

In the context of the rapid development of online shopping, enterprises and consumers realized the importance of an effective online short video display. However, academics rarely explored the content of a short video display and its impacts on consumers’ perceptions. This paper discusses the impacts of this display form on consumers’ perceived quality via questionnaires and scenario experiments based on the existing literature and theories. A short video of clothes was the main research object. We used an experimental design that included 2 (time: long, short) × 2 (display perspectives: overall, specific) × 2 (scenarios: outdoors, indoors) groups of experiments, for a total of eight groups of scenario experiments, to verify our hypotheses. The results reveal that the short video display makes consumers have a higher perceived quality compared with the long video display. Compared with a video that only includes an overall view of the product, a video that provides both an overall view and the details of the product makes consumers have a higher perceived quality. Consumers were found to have a higher perceived quality of products shot outdoors compared with products shot indoors.

Twenty years after the pioneering article devoted to interactive home shopping by Alba et al., this research intends to study the situation of home online shopping (SHOS). An observation is carried out using video recording to examine the real practices that occur behind the screen. Two theoretical approaches are distinguished (classic and participatory). A new conceptualization of the situation is proposed that rests on three factors: the participants, spatial dimension, and time dimension. An analysis of the results highlights a main participant who interacts with other participants and business websites in addition to their spatial mobility and the materiality of the situation with its discontinuous characteristic. The fragmentation of the SHOS is emphasized. In addition to a new conceptualization of the situation, this research aims to relativize the online immersion process (flow) and to integrate the SHOS into a real omni-channel strategy.

The nature of the research study is quantitative, and a correlational design has been selected for the study. Primary data was collected from a sample of 452 people who buy beauty and health care products online in major cities of Saudi Arabia. SPSS and Smart PLS are used to run different statistical techniques to test the proposed model. The results of the study shows that online video advertisements positively impacts customer satisfaction which in turn positively affects intentions of customers to buy online; also, gender, age, and profession act differently as a moderator in developing online shopping intention of beauty and healthcare products.

Purpose This paper aims to investigate how the physical and sensory environmental triggers interact with subjective consumer evaluations in the production of shopping experiences, an under-investigated theme, despite its relevance. Design/methodology/approach An interpretative multi-method approach was used by combining video observation with camera eyeglasses and in-depth interviews with 30 customers of a department store. Findings Results offer a holistic framework with four-dimensional axial combination involving physical comfort, psychological comfort, physical product evaluation and sensorial product evaluation. Based on this framework, results highlight the role of comfort and products in producing shopping experience in ordinary store visits. Research limitations/implications The findings contribute both to consumer experience studies and to the retail marketing literature in shading a light on experience production in ordinary store visits. Specifically, we detail these visits not as a static response to a given environment stimulus, but as a simultaneous objective and subjective combination able to produce experience. Practical implications The results encourage managers to understand the experience production not just as an outcome of managerially influenced elements, like décor or odor. It involves considering subjective elements in the design of consumers’ physical and sensorial retail experiences. Originality/value Adopting an innovative method of empirical data collection, results generated a framework that integrates the objective shopping environment and subjective consumer responses. This research considers the role of comfort and product features and quality both physically and sensorially to develop experiences in a holistic manner in ordinary shopping visits.

Today, a major use of people counting is done there where we have a cluttered audience and hence we have to make the management of any kind. The proposed algorithm does real time people counting using mean shift with deep learning data sets. The camera used in the system takes the video sequence as an input to the algorithm. The various steps of the algorithm then detect whether the object present in the video is a human or not. After the object is identified as a human, the counting algorithm is then applied to find the number of people in the video and display the counted result.

This study employed dual coding theory and telepresence theory to investigate the effects of review presentation formats (text-based reviews, image-based reviews and video-based reviews) on consumers’ purchase intention, and then analysed the moderation effect of product type. The 3×2 between-subject situational experiment and 3×2 within-subject eye-tracking experiment design were separately applied to test the hypotheses. The results manifested that review presentation formats exactly could generate different impacts on consumers’ purchase intentions. And product type moderated the impact of presentation formats on purchase intentions. Hence, this research considered online vendors should pay more attention to image-based and video-based reviews, moreover take the product type into account.

Analysis of the examples reveal that many powerful tools of Instagram Stories such as different camera modes, face filters, stickers, live video, “see more” links, shopping stickers, hashtags, etc. can be used to accomplish business goals like driving online and in-store sales, promoting apps, raising brand awareness, generating leads, gathering follower feedback, and retaining customers by influencing consumers at every stage of the purchase decision process.

The same is done by Tangcity Mall, an exclusive Golden Icon shopping center in the Tangerang City area. The event program being held is the Smart Shopper Surprize, which is a raffle program that is held every six months. However, the problems faced today, namely in the dissemination of information and promotion around the event, are still lacking. there is a decrease of about 15% from the target figure of 400 new member registrations per month. With the development of this promotional video, it is hoped that it can increase the number of loyal customers and provide the latest information to customers about the ongoing Smart Shopper Surprize program. The methods used are: Data Collection, SWOT Analysis, Media Design Analysis and Media Production Concept (KPM). The results obtained from this study are a promotional video for the Smart Shopper Surprize event which can be used to increase the number of new member registrations and increase visitor traffic each month.

In the current era of technological development, human actions can be recorded in public places like airports, shopping malls, and educational institutes, etc., to monitor suspicious activities like terrorism, fighting, theft, and vandalism. Surveillance videos contain adequate visual and motion information for events that occur within a camera’s view. Our study focuses on the concept that actions are a sequence of moving body parts. In this paper, a new descriptor is proposed that formulates human poses and tracks the relative motion of human body parts along with the video frames, and extracts the position and orientation of body parts. We used Part Affinity Fields (PAFs) to acquire the associated body parts of the people present in the frame. The architecture jointly learns the body parts and their associations with other body parts in a sequential process, such that a pose can be formulated step by step. We can obtain the complete pose with a limited number of points as it moves along the video and we can conclude with a defined action. Later, these feature points are classified with a Support Vector Machine (SVM). The proposed work was evaluated on the benchmark datasets, namely, UT-interaction, UCF11, CASIA, and HCA datasets. Our proposed scheme was evaluated on the aforementioned datasets, which contained criminal/suspicious actions, such as kick, punch, push, gun shooting, and sword-fighting, and achieved an accuracy of 96.4% on UT-interaction, 99% on UCF11, 98% on CASIA and 88.72% on HCA.

Crowd control is needed to prevent the outbreak of disorder and prevent possible stampedes. An automated detection of people crowds from images has become a very important research field. Due to the importance of the topic, many researchers tried to solve this problem using CCTV street cameras. There are still significant problems in managing public pedestrian transport areas such as railway stations, stadiums, shopping malls, and religious gatherings. Using CCTV cameras, some image processing techniques are suitable for an automatic crowd monitoring system. The feasibility of such a system has been tested by analyzing the crowd behavior, crowd density and motion. Traditional measurement techniques, based on manual observations, are not suitable for comprehensive data collection of patterns of density and movement. Real-time monitoring is tedious and tiring, but critical for safety. The author has investigated a number of techniques for crowd density estimation, movement estimation, incident detection and their merits using image processing.

Dinoyo ceramics tourist kampong has limited space in the effort to organize it. To formulate the concept of spatial planning in accordance with the needs and potential of space, is necessary to identify activity pattern of shopping as a major activity in economic activity that will be developed, as well as the use of space. This study uses observation and behavior mapping of visitors in corridors of the ceramics kampong. Observation time is chosen in rush hours of visitors which are known from questionnaire on the visitors and shop owners. Analysis of observation result and behavioral mapping is conducted by overlay analysis to understand pattern of travel or trip, pattern of activity, and points of visitors activity. While content analysis of the photos/video is performed to determine actors of activity, type of activity, physical order supporting activity, dimension of space, time of occurrence, and duration of activity. The results show that the pattern of shopping activities which occur in the kampong influenced by the type of products, accessibility, availability of parking areas and circulation, as well as the availability of other supporting facilities (signage, maps, location markers, food stalls, public toilets, an information center, etc).

The recent emergence of shared bikes has inspired renewed use of bicycles in urban China. However, incidence rates of unsafe cycling behaviors have not been reported using objective methods. We designed a video-based observational study in Changsha, China to estimate the incidence of five unsafe bicycling behaviors among both shared and personal bike riders and examine incidence differences across types of riders and cycling areas. A total of 112 h of video recorded 13,407 cyclists riding shared bikes and 2061 riding personal bikes. The incidences of not wearing a helmet, violating traffic lights, riding in the opposite direction of traffic, not holding the handlebar with both hands, and riding in a non-bicycle lane were 99.28%, 19.57%, 13.73%, 2.57%, and 64.06%, respectively. The incidence rate of all five kinds of behaviors differed significantly across four types of riding areas (shopping, university, office, and leisure) and the rates of the first three kinds of behaviors were statistically different between shared and personal bike riders. In situations where bicycle lanes were available, we observed the incidence of riding on the motorway and on the sidewalk to be 44.06% and 19.99%, respectively. We conclude that unsafe cycling behaviors occur with alarming frequency and differ somewhat between riders of shared versus personal bikes. Further research is recommended to interpret the occurrence of risky cycling and the incidence differences across types of riders and cycling areas.

Gambling behaviors of young adults may begin in adolescence and continue or even worsen in adulthood (Goudriaan et al., 2009).Even if the young adult population is not an homogeneous group, studies show that almost 5% of young people, against 1% in general population showed pathological gambling (Dyke, 2009)Our objective was to study the presence of problem gambling among a population of young adults in professional-schools.We included 629 people, average age 20 and 66.4% of men. We used a battery of assessment scales of consumption of alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, pathological gambling, compulsive shopping, video games addiction, anxiety and depression.The results show a prevalence of 1.6% of young people with a score of pathological gambling in the Canadian Problem Gambling Index (CPGI) and 7% with a score of problematic use.The findings regarding depression, anxiety and other dependencies will be discussed.

This Article focuses on how women educators in Makassar activity in the Facebook and Whatsapp. The study indicates that there are two main reasons why Facebook and Whatsapp are the preferred informative social media in this research, both of which are the most popular (because they are mostly used by one’s networking) and practical social media (because people can be easily found and to be found through these two social media and because of the facilities of these social media, they can share (like photos, documents, videos, etc.), and interact in various forms (such as video call, online games, etc.). Facebook and Whatsapp are used to connect each other, as the source of information, as an online shopping venue, a place hobby channeling, as well as a space to share moments. Their activities on Facebook and Whatsapp can be classified into silent readers, commentators, broadcasters, promoters, and owners of the stage. In fact, social media users are inversely proportional to the ability to understand Facebook and Whatsapp as ‘private spaces’ rather than as ‘public spaces’ where content are shared openly.

Although livestock welfare issues were once barely visible to mainstream consumers, animal welfare activists now combine traditional public media advocacy with digital media advocacy to spread their campaign message and mobilise consumers. This article examines one attempt to mainstream animal welfare issues: Animals Australia's ‘Make It Possible’ multimedia campaign. Specifically, we contend that the campaign puts into circulation an ‘affective economy’ (Ahmed, 2004a, 2004b) aimed at proposing and entrenching new modes of everyday behaviour. Core affective positions and their circulation in this economy are considered from three interrelated articulations of this campaign: the release of and public response to the YouTube campaign video; Coles' short-lived offering of campaign shopping bags; and public engagement in the ‘My Make It Possible Story’ website. Analysis also opens up broader questions concerning the relationship between online activism and everyday life, asking how articulations in one domain translate to everyday practices.

This research is expected to show how is the correlation between visual strategy used and its impact on user engagement on BukaLapak and Tokopedia Youtube channel.

Based on these reasons, it is necessary to design a learning activity that can help students to apply their understanding of the theory they have acquired. This research describes the learning process of Poisson distribution which is designed by adding its application activity in a problem. This learning is part of the Mathematical Statistics course at teacher education program. This research was conducted for four weeks on Short Semester. One week consists of three meetings. This research involves seven students of IKIP Mataram majoring in Mathematics Education who have taken the Mathematics Statistics course and repeat the lecture in Short Semester. The data collected were obtained from interview video, students’ assignment sheet, accompaniment video data analysis process using Poisson distribution, and student worksheets in Microsoft Excel. Students are required to conduct visitor surveys at several education centers and shopping centers. After that, we guide them to process and analyze data using Poisson distribution. The discussion section highlights the description of the lessons and the development of students' understanding

This essay is an attempt, made by using the personal stories of Soviet Americani-sts, to study the role of Soviet academic visitors, approved and supervised by the KGB, in promoting the cultural products from the USA - mainly such visual media as films and television - in the USSR during the period of academic exchanges after 1959. During their visits to the United States, Soviet Americanists used their leisure time not only for sightseeing, visiting museums and shopping, but also for various forms of cultural entertainment, from watching films and television shows to visiting concerts of classical and popular music. These experiences eventually affected the recommenda-tions about American cultural products, which Soviet visitors submitted to the KGB and their supervisors after their return home. During the 1970s and the 1980s, Soviet admi-nistration benefited from such useful advice about American popular films and televi-sion programs, which could be promoted in the USSR. Even the KGB administration in the Soviet Union studied the lists of recommendations made by those scholars, and used them for promoting the "progressive, humanistic" American cultural products among local Communist and Komsomol leaders for the education of Soviet audience.

Commercial areas, especially urban ones with numerous buildings, are becoming increasingly prone to congestion because of their popularity. Visual inspections show that interactions between pedestrians and building entrances affect the distribution of pedestrian trajectories, which influences the utility of pedestrian spaces and the design of urban shopping areas. Herein, we analyse the dynamics of pedestrian deviations around building entrances. We used a video recorded using an unmanned aerial vehicle to determine pedestrian trajectories in a Chinese commercial walking space. First, the candidate variables affecting deviation behaviours were determined via correlation testing. Second, two regression models were developed by considering the deviation behaviours of pedestrians walking past a building entrance. The models suggest that the starting position of a pedestrian’s deviation, the total pedestrian flow at the building entrance, the density in an area in the vicinity of the entrance, and the number of interacting pedestrians impact the total distance traversed during path deviation.

Pedestrian flows and densities have increased in recent years within transport-related public facilities such as train stations, as well as in private buildings such as shopping centers, event halls or convention centers. Increasing flows and high densities often raise comfort, safety, operational and delay issues; and therefore, require pedestrian flow optimization, intervention or even revised regulation. Recent technological advances enhanced pedestrian sensing; however, they disregard adaptive data capture, processing, and strategic communication within reasonable time, or real-time, such as tactic occupancy or density alarms trigger rules. Content of this research is twofold. First, new data capturing and processing advances of recent technological developments are combined in an integral software and hardware-based framework. Second, applied methods highlight projects and experiences on both pedestrian research and on existing and operating pedestrian facilities. Based on the described, two-sided approach, proposed framework is able to fulfil high safety and comfort standards of facilities such as train stations, retail facilities or event halls. In this research, past semi-automatic video analysis processing of pedestrian behavioral studies is replaced with combined sensor and data processing system within proposed framework. In train stations of major operators, real-time pedestrian observation increases safety levels on station platforms. Tactic algorithms and alarm trigger schemes enable on-time surveillance, e.g. at overcrowded floor levels in shopping centers for escalator or door closure. Sensor data is used to train models for underpass pedestrian flow regarding path choice and fundamental diagram. In retail, queue length, trajectory analysis and floor occupancy are determined for economic, comfort as well as safety evaluation. Using trajectory classification, movement and dwell time is analyzed for staff and visitors separately (see Figure 1).

Since no images are captured from the faces of pedestrians, no privacy issues raised. The paper includes accuracy analysis of the estimated parameters based on video footage as reference. Due to the dense point clouds, detailed geometry analysis has been conducted to obtain the height and shoulder width of pedestrians and to detect whether luggage has been carried or not. The derived parameters support safety (e.g. detecting critical pedestrian density in mass events), security (e.g. detecting prohibited baggage in endangered areas) and commercial applications (e.g. counting pedestrians at all entrances/exits of a shopping mall).

Multimodal is quite established as communication metaphor in user interfaces and there is at least some limited prima facie case that can be used to influence positively consumer behaviour. This paper explores the perceptions of users to interactive multimodal e-branding and its effect on the consumer purchase decision. A sample of 200 respondents, was used as a basis to explore marketing techniques on social media and multimodal influence on consumer purchase decisions. The results and their analysis indicated that advertisements or messages to users with audio, video and text on in combination are the most effective forms of compiling multimodal messages that aim to advertise, persuade and eventually lead to a purchase on the e-commerce and social media platforms. The data also pointed to the use of multimodal Virtual Shopping Assistants. These findings provide an overall viewpoint on user perception that can be used as a basis for a series of empirical experiments in simulations to identify the specific user influence under particular user context and multimodal messages.

The activeness of regional business entities, like restaurants, cinemas and shopping malls, represents the evolvement of their corresponding commercial districts, whose prediction helps practitioners grasp the trend of commercial development and provides support for urban layout. On the other hand, online social network services, such as Yelp, are generating massive online reviews toward business entities every day, which provide a solid data source for the prediction of regional commercial activeness and entity condition through big data technology rather than applying business data with limited access and poor time efficiency. Inspired by the outstanding performance of deep learning in the field of image and video processing, this paper proposes a deep spatio-temporal residual network (DSTRN) model for regional commercial activeness prediction using online reviews and check-in records of commercial entities. Furthermore, aiming at predicting business trend of entities, we also propose a novel multi-view entity condition prediction model (SBCE) based on online views, along with business attributes and regional commercial activeness. The experiments on the public Yelp datasets demonstrate that both DSTRN and SBCE outperform the compared approaches.

With the integration of 5G and Internet of Things (IoT), the application of large-scale IoT devices networking is increasingly extensive, such as building management, property maintenance, autonomous vehicles, healthcare, and shopping to tourism. In these scenes, the volume of data transmission is quite large, especially visual data (image, video, et al). However, due to the limited resource of IoT devices, such as battery, power, bandwidth, visual data transmission is complex to optimize, single objective optimization is difficult to insure the optimal latency, throughput and power at the same time. In this paper, we propose a method to jointly optimize the resource allocation of visual data transmission in resource constraint 5G IoT. Instead of single objective optimization, we combine the bandwidth, power consumption and latency into a hybrid model, then propose a low-complexity algorithm to solve this multiple objective optimization problem. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method increases the comprehensive utility of visual data transmission in the resource constraint 5G-IoT by 35%-48% compared with existing approaches.

This research is tries to uncover thesimulation of social reality of social media and instant messaging application through smartphone that removed the student communication landscape become borderless in Yogyakarta. Smartphone application has creating a new space which brought a second reality for the student to communicate. Transformation phenomena from the real interaction society towards virtual society are important and interesting study further. In terms of analyzing this study uses the theory of symbolic interactionism, CMC and simulacra with descriptive qualitative method. The data came from observation, interviewing, documentation by snowball and purposive sampling techniques and Yogyakarta student as the primary source. The research result shows that social networking and instant messenger have created social reality simulation of Yogyakarta students in new media through a sign which are the reflection of the reality. Another invention also told us that the smartphone advantages have changed the action and mindset pattern of the Yogyakarta student, they usually used it to communicating, doing study task, entertainment, online shopping business, spreading some information, posting some selected and edited pictures, downloading scientific journals, e-book, producing and spreading memes character, symbol, picture and videos that they deliberately created.Penelitian ini mengungkap simulasi realitas sosial pada aplikasi jejaring sosial dan instant messaging melalui new media yang mengubah lanskap komunikasi mahasiswa Kota Yogyakarta yang menjadi tanpa batas. Ruang buatan yang diciptakan oleh aplikasi smartphone menjadi realitas kedua bagi mahasiswa untuk berkomunikasi. Fenomena transformasi dari interaksi masyarakat nyata menuju interaksi masyarakat virtual ini penting dan menarik untuk diteliti. Penelitian ini melihat realitas virtual yang diciptakan mahasiswa melalui smartphone bersanding dengan realitas nyata yang menggunakan teori interaksionisme simbolik, CMC dan simulakra dengan pendekatan kualitatif yang berjenis deskriptif. Pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi dengan teknik snowball dan purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jejaring sosial dan instant messaging telah membentuk simulasi realitas mahasiswa Yogyakarta di media baru melalui tanda/citraan yang merupakan refleksi dari realitas, bahkan menutupi realitas yang sebenarnya dan menciptakan simulakrum yang terkadang tidak ada hubungannya dengan realitas. Temuan lain juga mengatakan bahwa pemakaian smartphone banyak mengubah pola pikir dan tindakan mahasiswa Yogyakarta lebih untuk melakukan komunikasi, mengerjakan tugas kuliah, mencari hiburan, bisnis online shopping, menebarkan informasi, mengunggah foto, mengunduh jurnal dan e-book, memproduksi dan menyebarkan gambar-gambar meme yang lucu atau yang berkaitan dengan aktivitas tertentu dan melakukan pencitraan diri melalui simbol, gambar dan video yang sengaja mereka ciptakan.

Search engines are used in the web as a tool for information retrieval. Web Server is a large warehouse of heterogeneous and unstructured data so that to filter out relevant information from people, a search engine is needed. Search engines usually consist of page repositories, indexing modules, query modules and ranking modules. Search engines do not work alone, besides that there is a web browser that supports the work of this search engine to be more optimal. A browser is software that is run on a user's computer (user) that displays web documents or information taken from a web server [1]. A browser is the type of intermediary the user uses most often. This paper aims to analyze three search engines namely Google, Yahoo, and Bing based on existing features. These features include web search, image search, video search, news search, route search, book search, change search settings, display number of views, shopping, language translator. Google stands as the best search engine among all search engines, which works using the Page Rank algorithm. Page Rank is a numerical value that determines the importance of a web page by calculating the number of backlinks.

The aim of this investigation was to assess deficits in prospective remembering following chronic traumatic brain injuries (TBI), under conditions of high and low distraction. We constructed a virtual shopping precinct from photographs, sounds, and video segments linked together. The street was divided into halves, a low distraction zone and a high distraction zone (with increased visual and auditory noise). Twenty persons with TBI (7 severe, 7 very severe, 6 extremely severe) and 20 matched controls completed ongoing and prospective memory tasks while “walking” along the street. In the ongoing task, participants were given ten errands to complete with a checklist accessible at any time. The prospective component required responding to three targets that appeared repeatedly. As predicted, the TBI group performed both the ongoing and the prospective components of the street task poorly compared with the controls and was more affected by distractions. The results suggest that the real-life deficits in memory skills reported by persons with TBI may become more apparent when remembering engages executive processes and that computer simulations can be used to construct sensitive measures of practical memory abilities. Investigating children’s pop cultures that rely on myth-making provide understandings about how children are active agents in the socialization into cultural and moral practices in their everyday lives. An annual visit to Santa Claus is important in children’s pop culture in the Western world, however, the social practices associated with the continuation of the myth are under-reported. Drawing on the related methodologies of ethnomethodology, conversation analysis and membership categorization analysis, this article examines video-recordings of children talking to Santa at a North American shopping mall. An inherent problem for Santa across the interactions is how to talk about the children’s wished-for item without actually promising the gift. Analyses show that Santa manages this problem through the design of his turn and responses, which allows him to mitigate and propose why certain items might not be delivered. Despite the infrequency of the interaction between Santa Claus and a child, a visit to Santa highlights the interplay between child, adult and societal agendas. Findings presented focus on how culture-in-action is produced through the resources of conversation and permeating cultural practices.

ABSTRACTBackground: The ability to remember to complete future intentions, prospective memory, often begins to fail in old age. The aim of the present study was to examine the sensitivity of a computer-based procedure using naturalistic stimuli to age-related increases in forgetting under conditions of high (increased visual and auditory noise) or low distraction.Methods: Participants were tested in a virtual shopping precinct constructed from linked photographs, sounds, and video segments. Groups of 32 older and younger persons completed two concurrent memory tasks while moving along the street. In one task, participants were given errands to complete with an accessible checklist, in the other, they were required to remember to respond to three different targets that appeared repeatedly.Results: The results confirmed previous findings that older adults have difficulty remembering future intentions, even on a self-paced task using naturalistic stimuli, and showed that this was accentuated in noisy environments.Conclusions: Older persons have particular difficulty remembering in noisy environments, and results from testing in the clinic may underestimate the practical memory problems experienced by older adults with mild cognitive impairments. The findings provide encouragement for the construction of computer-generated environments to measure functional deficits in cognition.
