In response to the recommendation of the Council for Science and Technology (Subdivision on Geodesy and Geophysics), the National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience (NIED) constructed a network of stations to observe 11 volcanoes: Tokachidake, Usuzan, Tarumaesan, Hokkaido-Komagatake, Iwatesan, Kusatsu-Shiranesan, Asamayama, Asosan, Kirishimayama, Unzendake, and Kuchinoerabujima. At each new station, a borehole seismograph and tiltmeter, a broadband seismograph, and a GNSS (GPS) were installed. Now, NIED has established 55 stations at 16 volcanoes, adding five volcanoes, namely, Izu- Oshima, Miyakejima, Ogasawara Iwoto, Mt. Fuji and Nasu-dake, and has constructed a new volcano observation network linking the 11 original volcanoes. NIED calls the combination of the new and earlier network the fundamental volcano observation network (V-net).Under a fully open policy, data from the borehole seismographs and tiltmeters, broadband seismographs, rain gauges, barometers,and quartz thermometers in the pressure vessels of the borehole seismographs and tiltmeters are distributed to institutes such as the Japan Meteorological Agency and universities in real time over NIED’s conventional seismic observation data distribution system. GNSS (GPS) data are regularly distributed to relevant research institutes, such as the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan, using file transfer protocol (FTP). In addition, since everyone can use these data for the promotion of volcano research and volcanic disaster prevention, it is now possible to view seismic waves and download data from NIED’s website.

Rozvoj mezinárodní koordinace výzkumných aktivit v EU prostřednictvím nástrojů ERA-NET a ERA-NET Plus: obecné trendy a situace v ČRProjekty typu ERA-NET jsou nástrojem k propojení národních, regionálních a jiných dílčích výzkumných programů, intenzivnější propojení je pak realizováno schématy ERA-NET Plus a na základě čl. 185 Smlouvy o fungování EU. Článek se zabývá aktuální situací při realizaci těchto schémat. Zmiňuje vznik těchto projektů, jejich poslání a vysvětluje jejich rozsah. Formou mezinárodního srovnání analyzuje zapojení jednotlivých států do těchto projektů s důrazem na účast českých institucí. Vzhledem k nižšímu zapojení ČR se dále zabývá možnostmi české účasti. Přináší výsledky dotazníku ohledně zapojení do výzev, které jsou ve schématu ERA-NET vyhlašovány.

This study examined the scaling relationships of net O2 uptake [V˙o 2(net)= V˙o 2 − restingV˙o 2] to body mass ( M B) and combined mass ( M C= M B + bicycle) during uphill treadmill bicycling. It was hypothesized thatV˙o 2(net)(l/min) would scale proportionally with M C [i.e.,V˙o 2(net)∝ [Formula: see text]] and less than proportionally with M B [i.e.,V˙o 2(net)∝ [Formula: see text]]. Twenty-five competitive cyclists [73.9 ± 8.8 and 85.0 ± 9.0 (SD) kg for M B and M C, respectively] rode their bicycles on a treadmill at 3.46 m/s and grades of 1.7, 3.5, 5.2, and 7.0% whileV˙o 2 was measured. Multiple log-linear regression procedures were applied to the pooledV˙o 2(net)data to determine the exponents for M C and M B after statistically controlling for differences in treadmill grade and dynamic friction. The regression models were highly significant ( R 2 = 0.95, P < 0.001). Exponents for M C (0.99, 95% confidence interval = 0.80–1.18) and M B (0.89, 95% confidence interval = 0.72–1.07) did not differ significantly from each other or 1.0. It was concluded that the 0.99 M C exponent was due to gravitational resistance, whereas the M B exponent was <1.0 because the bicycles were relatively lighter for heavier cyclists.

In October 2020, the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), sitting as a Grand Chamber, handed down its preliminary rulings in Privacy International v. Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs (Privacy International) and in the joined cases of La Quadrature du Net v. Premier ministre and Ordre des barreaux francophones et germanophone v. Conseil des ministers (La Quadrature du Net). In Privacy International, the CJEU held that member states are precluded from enacting laws enabling bulk transmission of communications data from providers to the state. In La Quadrature du Net, it laid down requirements for various types of data processing, including bulk and targeted retention and automated analysis, and held for the first time that bulk retention of communications data could be justified on national security grounds. The judgments represent a significant development of the CJEU's jurisprudence on communications data processing and state surveillance, as the European Union (EU) continues to move towards a new digital privacy law.

This thesis represents the Model-View-Controller pattern. It is focused especially at the description of the particular architecture layers principle and its functionality. It deals with the reasons of the three-layer architecture invention and it also deals with the advantages and the disadvantages provided by this pattern. The most frequent implementation of the MVC – the access to the data stored in the database through the web user interface is also described in this chapter. The next part of the thesis is concentrated on .NET Framework platform created from very voluminous, language-neutral library that is basically huge collection of the source codes providing the solution for common programmer’s problems and from the interface used for running up the applications created in .NET environment. The goal of the chapter concering with .NET Framework is to describe its architecture. The thesis also describes the platform invention, various versions of the .NET, the data access technology ADO.NET and the ASP.NET member ObjectDataSource. The chapter describing languages supported by the .NET Framework is focused on the C# language and its versions. The application “Multilayer applications in .NET environment” is the practical implementation of the mentioned technologies and it is described in the last chapter. The application’s architecture with the concentration on the particular Model-View-Controller layers implementation in the form of Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 projects is also described in the thesis. Special attention is paid to each operation over the data stored in the database tables that the application enables the user to execute, as for example data inserting, updating, selecting or deleting. The common business object’s child generation process is also described deep into the details.

The work targets the very important part of service oriented architecture -- web services. It is focused at one of its practical implementation, from the Microsoft Corporation, especially in the last two releases of .NET Framework. The main target of this work is comprehensive summary and demonstration of Microsoft web services development. The principles of web services and their base in the .NET Framework are described here. At the beginning of this work the web services are put into the scope of service oriented architecture and their main principles are described. Subsequently the .NET Framework is explained with its main principles and with the comparison to the JAVA technology. This part is finished with the explanation of classic ASMX web services. The main part of this work focuses at detailed description of the theoretical and practical aspects of web services in the Windows Communication Foundation and the Windows Workflow Foundation context. Even the development of Windows Forms application is not left out, because they also have done a large progress and they are often consumers of web services. The options of securing web services in the .NET Framework are shown both theoretically and practically including authentication and authorization. The methods of transactional behavior are shown too. The work also focuses at the orchestration of web services including the explanation of workflows with the deployment example. At the end of the work there is revealed how to guarantee interoperability with other technologies, how to manage web services and how to ensure their versioning.

The results of this work are two major projects - NpgObjects and PagedDataGridView. NpgObjects is a simple ORM framework to enable the mapping database tables to objects in the common language runtime. It contains a specially designed generator which generates classes in C# from information obtained from the database. These classes are mapping on the database tables one to one. NpgObjects allows all the basic database operations - SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE. PagedDataGridView is a component for displaying tabular data. In cooperation with NpgObjects can paginate database data and manage the flow of data into application. It provides a comfortable user interface, which can easily navigate between different pages of data.

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na propojení databáze Oracle s vývojovými platformami Java, .Net a Lotus Notes/Domino. Po vysvětlení základních principů a technik práce s databází následuje část, která si klade za cíl jednotlivé možnosti propojení porovnat a otestovat. Na všech 3 platformách existují vyspělé propojovací technologie pro práci s databází, mezi nejznámější patří ODBC, JDBC, ADO.NET a LC (Lotus Connectors). Jednotlivé možnosti propojení se na všech třech vývojových platformách značně liší. Společná zůstává jen základní funkcionalita pro práci s databází (sestavení připojení, řízení transakcí, volání SQL příkazů, přenášení základních datových typů a volání uložených procedur). Pro praktické ověření jednotlivých propojovacích produktů byla vyvinuta testovací/benchmark aplikace, která byla z jazyka Java naimplementována i do prostředí .NET (C#) a Lotus Notes/Domino (Lotus Script). Bylo naimplementováno a spuštěno 253 testů na 12 produktech od 8 výrobců. Podkladem pro zpracování diplomové práce a realizaci testů byla dokumentace k těmto systémům a další odborná literatura. Díky těmto testům bylo možné, v rámci možností, porovnání jednotlivých produktů i platforem. Systematické testování a práce s těmito produkty ukázaly, že jednotlivé produkty jsou velmi rozdílné v ceně, kvalitě, výkonu, ale i ve svých specifických funkcích.

Additionally, this article aims to disprove the assumption that entrepreneurs have a special tolerance for risk, and rather explores the idea that entrepreneurs have access to resources--financial, social, and intellectual--that come from their family and friends that then give them an edge and a safety net that de-mystifies them from the risk of starting a business. Once we realize that because the majority of the entrepreneurs studied in this thesis had unusually privileged backgrounds, we may then end with a suggestion as to how to level the playing field for those who may not have the same.

Automatická segmentace biologických struktur v mikro-CT datech je stále výzvou, protože často objekt zájmu (v našem případě obličejová chrupavka) není charakterizovaný unikátním jasem či ostrými hranicemi. V posledních letech se konvoluční neuronové sítě (CNNs) staly mimořádně populárními v mnoha oblastech počítačového vidění. Konkrétně pro segmentaci biomedicínských obrazů je široce používaná architektura U-Net. Nicméně v případě mikro-CT dat vyvstává otázka, zda by nebylo výhodnější použít 3D CNN. Diplomová práce navrhla CNN architekturu založenou na síti V-Net včetně metodologie pro předzpracování a postprocessing dat. Základní architektura byla dále optimalizována pomocí pokročilých architektonických modifikací jako jsou pyramidální modul dilatovaných konvolucí (ASPP modul), škálovatelná exponenciálně-lineární jednotka (SELU aktivační funkce), víceúrovňová kontrola učení (multi-output supervision) či bloky s hustými propojeními (Dense blocks). Pro učení sítě byly použity moderní přístupy jako zahřívání kroku učení (learning rate warmup) či AdamW optimalizátor. I přes to, že 3D CNN v úloze segmentace obličejové chrupavky nepřekonala U-Net, optimalizace zvýšila medián Dice koeficientu z 69,74 % na 80,01 %. Používání těchto pokročilých architektonických modifikací v dalším výzkumu je proto vřele doporučováno, jelikož můžou být přidány do libovolné architektury typu U-Net a zároveň výrazně zlepšit výsledky.
