Image sharing addresses a fault-tolerant protection mechanism for important images. In a typical image sharing scheme, the generated shadow images usually have a noise-like appearance that conceals the secret image completely, but this makes them difficult to identify and manage. This paper proposes an adjustable user-friendly image sharing scheme in which each generated shadow image looks like a shrunken replica of the original image. It provides an easy-to-identify interface for managing the shadow images. In the proposed scheme, the original image is divided into an obvious component and a secret component. The obvious component contains the data that can be directly observed in the shadow images, and it determines the quality of the generated shadow images. The secret component is processed using the (t, n) threshold mechanism to conceal the details of the original image. Compare with previous user-friendly image sharing schemes, the proposed method can reconstruct the original image without any loss and still has the small-size shadow images. Notably, the qualities the generated shadow images are adjustable in the proposed scheme. It provides high flexibility for designing user-friendly image sharing scheme with satisfactory quality of shadow images in different applications.

Bag has become part of our everyday life. Instead of showing personal style or an accessory of dress, bag is a private space for carrying personal stuff. For some user it is more like a “portable home”. They keep us contact with our daily life. We use them every single day. Though the creation of bag has been centuries, we still find problems while using them. Therefore how to improve such well-developed product became my issue. The concepts of this project come from observation, interview and self-experience of using bag. The character and usage of bag are analyzed during the process of finding direction of concept development. The specification, which contains form, size, material, structure, and manufacture process of each concept model is arranged and revised for applicable result. Inspired by the process of design and form of project, the main theme of this project is “DNA”. This project shows the continued evolution as well as DNA of bag. Various faces of bag have been revealed through adjustable usage and structure. The appearance, interior and elements of bag reflect the changing interaction between user and bag. As the outcome of this project, five concepts were selected and made into nine prototypes.

One-dimensional photonic crystal structure, the main basis in this study, is calculated in numerical simulation theoryby the use of transfer matrix method (TMM) to design an electric wave filter making the changeof design wavelength and structure and increasing photonic band gap. Photonic band gap (PBG) signifies that photonic crystal is with the nature of band gap structure so thatelectromagnetic wavescannot penetrate through the photonic crystalsin a certain range of frequency. First, to achieve this effect, the electric wave filter, based on the same material, only needs to bechanged on the design wavelength. By the way of this mode, we combine the structure of different design wavelength which will filter out two different bands of wavelength.Next, we overlap the two PBGs for increasing the scopeof PBG. If the scope of PBG can be increased,we can apply this wayto block the frequencyof ultraviolet rays. As the structure of the cycle, two materials with different photonic crystalsare added a layer of metal which can reflectultraviolet wavelength. After that, based on the former structure, we only changethe thicknesses of two kinds of photonic crystals in this period and then design the second structure which can reflect the wavelength of visible light. Westack these two structures and apply thewavelength with the reflection from ultraviolet to visible light to blockthe band of ultraviolet to visible light.

The thesis is to research and implement an instrument-used switching-mode power supply (ISMPS) with output voltage and current adjustable. The ISMPS is composed of an EMI filter, a power factor corrector (PFC), and a DC/DC converter. The DC/DC converter is constructed by phase-shifted full-bridge (FB) converter with zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) technique. The control strategy is designed to be capable of constant voltage (CV) mode and constant current (CC) modes, which are built by voltage-adjust control (VAC) and current-limit control (CLC). A linear regulator (LR) is installed at the output end to achieve adjustable output voltage/current, and good regulation. A small-signal modeling for describing the system is conducted. A compensation work has been made to stabilize the system performance. And also, a gain/phase analyzer HP-4194A is used to tune to reach the theoretical estimation. Finally, a design example of a 500W ZVS-PWM ISMPS is examined to assess the system performance with the specification of an output voltage 0-50V and an output current 0-10A. The proposed ISMPS can actually provide an efficiency up to 90% and good load regulation within ±1% at the load condition of Vo=50V and Io=10A.
