Privilege is a right or social advantage in society while the underprivileged are poor that have no social advantages in society. Some of the fundamental rights of all members of civilized society are denied to them because of their economic or social circumstances. This paper aimed at providing an alternative solution for supporting the underprivileged through the application of the cash waqf scheme. The study used a basic qualitative research design. The data collection method was conducted through interviews with five underprivileged from different categories. Thematic analysis was used to examine and analyze the responses of the informants using Atlas.ti v8.0 qualitative data analysis tool. The data reveal that those from lower socioeconomic status have fewer advantages, privileges, and opportunities than people from higher socioeconomic status. The findings also show a positive and reliable impact of cash waqf scheme application as an alternative and enduring solution for supporting underprivileged people. Therefore, there is a need to have a durable and reliable solution to cater to underprivileged people so that they can live their lives in a well-balanced society.

It is an undetermined rule that all beings that have arisen in this world must be respected equally. There is no one who has adhered to such a canon. Inequality between every living being that can live in this world is a fundamental matter of nature. The beginning of inequality is the definition that he should and should not do even the most common activities in the world. We can identify such a preliminary difference in the Tolkappiyam itself. People like errand runner and Panar, who works for the life of others more than their own needs, can be considered grassroots people. The focus of this article is on examining the atrocities faced by these underprivileged people from time to time, the obstacles they faced in their daily way of life, and the rights denied by birth through the literature that has emerged from time to time. Even in the Sangam literature, which can be portrayed as the golden age of the Tamils, there are records of the fact that the people of the lower strata were untouchables and should not be seen. Similarly, moral literature also highlights the sufferings of downtrodden people. Whoever sees inequality in the world, God does not see it. But even in devotional literature, there are caste-based devotees. From Minor Literature to Modern Literature, the life of the downtrodden is seen as a place of suffering and misery. Thus, this article proves that the lives of the lower classes are the same in the literature that reflects the society from the Sangam period to the present day.

This article deals with history and literature in a straight line. By maintaining a balance between the two, it pays utmost attention to the inevitable reality of the life of the poor. It has to be demonstrated in terms of widely known historical aspects. This article will explain how such aspects apply to literature as well. Here, since literature and history travel hand in hand here, the nature of history that emerges from the structure of literature is going to assume significance. The elite, which does not care much about the underlying individuals, seeks to constrain the historical error of history with the help of a biographical portrayal of the poor. The upper-class historical writings that are thus restricted can be called into question. They can identify areas that have been excluded with political flexibility. They will be a factor in the emergence of new forms to reproduce the lasting impact and scope they have had on the lives of the lower class. For this, the method of collecting and analyzing data that has been refuted by the history within which literature contains becomes essential. Such a method will only to some extent help to gather the realistic environment of societies that have been pushed back. The reality is that what remains has to be compiled in a completely realistic historical context by examining the historical versions that have been carried out, either from the history in which literature speaks or in its way. Or it is necessary to uphold as history the literary forms in circulation held by societies that are accustomed to real life. There is no doubt that elite historical theories will be an obstacle to such an attempt. However, before establishing such a democratic historical equation, it is inevitable that the historical data that is mixed in the mainstream literature will be examined and that is what this article seeks to do.

In this work, we introduce an improved form of the basic SEIRD model based on Python simulation for the troublesome people who are oblivious about the contemporary pandemics due to diverse social impediments, especially those economically underprivileged. In the extant epidemiological models, some unorthodox issues are yet to be considered, such as poverty, illiteracy, and carelessness towards health issues, significantly influencing the data modeling. Our focus is to overcome these issues by adding two more branches, for instance, uncovered and apathetic people, which significantly influence the practical purposes. For the data simulation, we have used the Python-based algorithm that trains the desired system based on a set of real-time data with the proposed model and provides predicted data with a certain level of accuracy. Comparative discussions, statistical error analysis, and correlation-regression analysis have been introduced to validate the proposed epidemiological model. To show the numerical evidence, the investigation comprised the figurative and tabular modes for both real-time and predicted data. Finally, we discussed some concluding remarks based on our findings.

Dentistry has seen a slow trend toward person-centred care (PCC), with most approaches developed by scholars who have tried to progress away from disease-centred care. Unfortunately, the perspectives and experiences of underprivileged people have not been considered in the development of these approaches. Our objective was thus to understand underprivileged people’s experiences and expectations about dental care and contribute to the development of person-centred dentistry. We conducted a qualitative descriptive study with a sample of 13 people living in poverty. We used a maximum variation sampling strategy and selected them among the users of a free dental clinic in Montreal, Canada. We conducted semi-structured interviews that we audio recorded, transcribed verbatim, and thematically analysed. Our main finding is that participants wanted to feel human and respected by dentists. More specifically, they wanted to be more involved in the dental care process through quality time and empathetic conversations with the dentist. They also wished for an exchange of information free of technical terms and built on mutual trust. In conclusion, person-centred dental care models should emphasize empathy, trust, and quality care beyond technical skills. Clinicians should provide comprehensive information in dental encounters and treat their patients as whole persons.

This article explores the way in which Agnes Owens, a 20th century working-class writer from Scotland, gives a literary voice to those most marginalized and underprivileged, a category of workers that is often defined as the precariat. The first part of the article traces the historic origins of the term precariat within marxism, then linking it to the growing number of people working today in low paid, short-term and uninsured jobs often beyond the pale of the rest of society. Their accompanying condition of neo-poverty is what Agnes Owens sought to dramatize in her novels and short stories, two of which – “Arabella” and Bad Attitudes – are chosen for more detailed discussion. The article seeks to show how Owens not only documents the lives of this modern precariat, but also how these new forms of social deprivation are feminized, since it is clearly the women who are most vulnerable in this new context of social and economic precarity.

The provision of reliable, adequate, and sustainable energy services has been a global challenge until today. Without the availability of energy, particularly for cooking and lighting, leads to difficulties in achieving the expected quality of life, mainly for underprivileged people who have not met the minimum standard of living. In order to fulfill the necessity of energy, new renewable energy sources are needed, one of which is through biogas installations. The purpose of this study was to find empirical evidence related to the impact of biogas utilization on poverty, especially in rural areas, by transforming the number of underprivileged people in an area. Through Village Potential (Potensi Desa/Podes) data 2008 – 2018, Biogas development from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in 2011-2017, and using the difference-in-differences (DID) method, it is expected that this study might contribute to the literature, especially related to energy, with comprehensive results. This study detected that after the implementation of biogas installation program, the number of beneficiaries of health insurance programs in villages with biogas installations decreased by 136 people compared to villages without biogas.

Microfinance is a financial service aimed at economically underprivileged people who have no or limited access to formal financial institutions such as banks due to the lack of financial resources, collateral, or low income. Microfinance institutions provide a collateral-free loan to low-income individuals with the principle of financial inclusion, which allows them to invest in various self-employment activities. In this article, we critically review the development of microfinance and its issues and challenges in Nepal. More specifically, using the concept of the Grameen Bank model and its relevance in the context of Nepali microfinance institutions, we explore how microfinance can be an effective tool of financial intervention to alleviate rural poverty in Nepal. Methodologically, we utilize secondary data sources such as government and non-government reports and existing empirical studies. We offer recommendations for policymakers to establish appropriate modalities, programs, and microfinance services targeting the socio-economic transformation of rural communities in Nepal. We conclude that the government and financial institutions can stimulate microfinance institutions through multidimensional interventions and facilitation to advance the socio-economic status of financially underprivileged people in rural communities in Nepal.

A needy family is the underprivileged group in the society, in which children and youths growing in a needy family are the most underprivileged group, who have no choice and could not overcome it by themselves. Effects of poverty on children contain malnutrition or disorder, more chronic diseases, higher epidemic disease infection rate, high accident rate, low study preparation, low learning achievement, high social emotion and behavior problems, high risk of domestic violence, and bad parent-child relationship. Discussions about poverty are often related to social exclusion. Some people regard social exclusion as the division of poor people; social exclusion is not simply a result, but a dynamic process; social exclusion is not the result of inequality, but the behavior to separate people and group due to systems. Aiming at disadvantaged youths in southern Taiwan, random sampling is adopted to distribute 450 copies of questionnaire, and 348 valid copies are retrieved, with the retrieval rate 77%. The retrieved questionnaire data are analyzed with statistics software. The research results show significantly negative correlations between environmental protective factor of resilience and social exclusion, remarkably negative correlations between social exclusion and hope, and notably positive correlations between environmental protective factor of resilience and hope. According to the results to propose suggestions, it is expected to provide various environmental factors in the growing process of youths for reinforcing youths’ confidence and cultivate the resilience.

ABSTRACTThis paper examines the association between being in paid work and depression among older adults in three poor urban communities in Beirut, Lebanon. In view of the rapid ageing of Lebanon's population and the growing number of older persons, the deteriorating economic conditions and the lack of pension systems, paid work is an important source of income for older people and deserves special attention. The sample was 328 men aged 65 or more years. Depression was assessed using the 15-item Geriatric Depression Scale. The exposure variable was working for pay at the time of the survey, and the covariates included socio-demographic measures, health characteristics, financial resources and social capital. Around one-third of the men were working, and approximately the same fraction were depressed. Adjusted data showed a protective effect of work on depression (odds ratio 0.50, 95 per cent confidence interval 0.25–0.96). This study is an eye opener on the circumstances of disadvantaged older people in a relatively low-income Eastern Mediterranean Region country, a topic rarely addressed in this area of the world. Old age is viewed as a decline in abilities while in reality many older adults are still able and ready to work. Social policies for older people should promote opportunities to work, not only pension schemes.

We undertook a comprehensive, systematic review of observational studies to estimate respective seroprevalences of latent and acute Toxoplasma gondii infections in HIV+ people at the global, regional and country levels; related seroprevalence to socio-economic variables and CD4+ cell counts; and assessed temporal changes in prevalence and risk factors for this group. We systematically searched international databases for seroepidemiological surveys between 1 January 1980 and 31 July 2020. We used a random effects model to calculate pooled seroprevalences with 95% confidence intervals (CI), and estimated the numbers of HIV+ people inferred to harbour latent and acute T. gondii infections (LT or AT). We grouped seroprevalence data according to the geographic regions defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) and conducted subgroup and meta-regression analyses of the data. Of a total of 4024 studies identified, 150 and 65 of them met the inclusion criteria for LT and AT in HIV+ people, respectively. The overall, pooled seroprevalences of LT and AT were 37.4% (95% CI, 33.4–41.4) and 1.3% (95% CI, 0.9–1.8%), equating to ~14.2 and 0.5 million HIV+ people, respectively. Most HIV+ people with T. gondii infections originated from Africa, and the highest seroprevalences were in low-income countries with low human development indices. Significant risk factors for toxoplasmosis in HIV+ patients included the consumption of raw/undercooked meat, frequent contact with soil, a low CD4+ T lymphocyte number (<200 cells per μL) and age. Overall, the finding of high seroprevalences of particularly latent T. gondii infection in HIV+ people in underprivileged regions of the world, such as parts of Africa, calls for preventative action. Programs that include routine serological monitoring, counselling, care, animal control and/or prophylactic treatment measures are needed to prevent severe toxoplasmosis from developing in people living with HIV infection. Our study highlights the potential importance of parasite chemoprophylaxis in resource-poor settings, particularly in low-income countries.

Take a look at from the current situation, drinking a cup of coffee in a coffee shop becomes a living style trend in society. Not only teenagers experience enjoyable and comfort there, but also adult people feel the same too. This phenomenon are happening right now. Seeing this situation, it would be better if the activity of drinking coffee that was liked by the general public could be a way to overcome boredom in learning English, especially in speaking skills. However, not all students can get these facilities due to economic factors. They are called "Underprivileged Students". So, with this activity, it is hoped that it can help disadvantaged students so that they can get additional English education. The ranking shows that the English ability of the people in Indonesia is in the very low category. Without exception, teenagers or students in Surabaya. Especially those who experience this problem are underprivileged students, because they only get education through formal schools which are only carried out in class or online so they are less effective. As stated in the sub-chapter description of partner problems, there are solutions to overcome problems with partners. One of the creative ideas that can be done is to learn English at the Coffee Shop. This activity will take place through 4 stages, the first is pre-activity, the second is the general stage which includes the inauguration of the activity, the third is the core of the activity, and the fourth is the evaluation of the activity.

The poet Sirpi is a boon to 20th century Tamil. In his poem, this article examines the status of the downtrodden people in society, the status of women, and the status of the people affected by politics. In the poem, Sarpayaakam, the position of the people of the lower strata of the society, the atrocities committed on the women belonging to that community, and the sufferings suffered by the people due to the political situation are also mentioned in this work. It depicts the idea that even nature silently accepts the idea that the upper classes in society think of the lower classes as contemptuous and degrading. Human society still suffers from poverty. Though there are many political programmes to eradicate poverty, poverty persists as they are not able to work. Even in the dreams of the people, there is no atmosphere of prosperity. When will their dream come true? Poverty has persisted for ages. People must be freed from these continuing clutches of poverty. The poet's desire to get rid of their hunger is expressed. Pointing out that society is deteriorating because of politics and that politics is a Snakes and Ladders game. The poet points out in his lines of poetry that many politicians are enslaving society as poisonous snakes who puff out and lunge their bodies to move on. The poet's view that the lower classes should fight unitedly and fight against the power of the upper classes to reduce their arrogance is expressed in a way that arouses the sentiments of the lower classes.

Entering the new normal era, some people think that the threat of Covid-19 is nothing to fear. But in reality the number of new cases of patients infected with Covid-19 is increasing. This proves that awareness of the Corona virus transmission still needs to be improved. Especially for pre-prosperous families whose access to information is limited. Limited health workers providing education to all levels of society are also an obstacle in the midst of this pandemic. The aim of this activity is to increase the knowledge of the underprivileged community about how to prevent the transmission of the Covid-19 virus. The method of implementing this activity is door-to-door education to underprivileged families living in the village of Sungai Buluh Selatan, Kabupaten Padang Pariaman, the majority of whom work as factory workers and daily laborers. Education was carried out using the media module/booklet and was carried out for three days, namely 1-3 July, 2020, to 32 pre-prosperous families who had been recommended by the head of the jorong. Education includes how to prevent the transmission of the Covid-19 virus, implement clean and healthy living habits, how to do physical/social distancing and how to use the right cloth masks, and make environmental disinfectants with cheap materials. The results of the evaluation show an increase in family understanding and motivation regarding the prevention of Covid-19 transmission. Continuous education is still very much needed, especially for underprivileged families whose access to information sources is limited.

Deveiopment planning in India, as in other developing countries, has generally been aimed at fostering an industrially-oriented policy as the engine of economic growth. This one-sided economic development, which results in capital formation, creation of urban elites, and underprivileged social classes of a modern society, has led to distortions in the social structure as a whole. On the contrary, as a result of this uneven economic development, which is narrowly measured in terms of economic growth and capital formation, the fruits of development have gone to the people according to their economic power and position in the social structure: those occupying higher positions benefiting much more than those occupying the lower ones. Thus, development planning has tended to increase inequalities and has sharpened divisive tendencies. Victor S. D'Souza, an eminent Indian sociologist, utilizing the Indian census data of 1961, 1971, and 1981, examines the problem of structural inequality with particular reference to the Indian Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes - the two most underprivileged sections of the present Indian society which, according to the census of 1981, comprised 15.75 percent and 7.76 percent of India's population respectively. Theoretically, he takes the concept of development in a broad sense as related to the self-fulfIlment of the individual. The transformation of the unjust social structure, the levelling down of glaring economic and social inequalities, and the concern for the development of the underprivileged are for the author the basic elements of a planned development. This is the theoretical perspective of the first chapter, "Development Planning and Social Transformation".
