Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe research of resources, notably from banks, is often problematic for entrepreneurs without experience willing to start a very small business. Although more and more equipped with computerized decision tools, the first stage of the attribution of a loan by a bank is the meeting with a bank manager who acts as a filter. Having specified the concept of very small enterprise in the French context and attached steps to the field of the entrepreneurship, the author of this research offers an intersubjectiviste conceptual framework of this meeting by putting in obvious place elements determining the desire of the bank manager to make concrete the request of the entrepreneur. This model puts in an obvious place three categories of elements having an influence: the general context of relation and more particularly pressure of the bank on the bank manager, perceptible elements by the bank manager and cast in an expected professional situation during the meeting and, finally, the determinants of trust. The author supports that the desire of the bank manager is built on "soft" information which are itemized. These results were acquired from proposals born in the work experience of the author, by a double set of case study research; these results are then enriched by literature

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleVery small firms deserve a particular attention considering their number, their contribution to the French gross domestic product and considering their status of professional customer for a large number of suppliers. The manager’s centrality in very small firm is at the origin of a confusion between the very small firm and the individual who steers it. This research develops a detailed understanding of the behavior of consumption of the manager under the double angle of the customer / supplier relationship on one hand and individual determiners in its behavior on the other hand. The concept of personal guidance / professional of the leader of very small firm is defined and a scale(ladder) of measure is proposed. A conceptual framework derived of the ethics individual is mobilized for establishing the validity of this scale in the context of the leaders of hairdressing salon

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe economic stimulus package in late 2008 in France raises again the question of what the purpose of public procurement is. As instruments for the Administration, they have become the tools of public policy, economic levers. And their last function, in association with the support of the growth and economic potential of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), business model of reference, because the most represented, restarts the ongoing debate between facilitating and favoritism to the SME for their access to public procurement. Yet, the favoritism, as implemented by the american Small Business Act of 1953, culminating in the implementation of the European principles of public procurement: open access to public procurement, equal treatment of candidates and transparent procedures. Successive reforms of the Procurement Code have not ceased to integrate devices for SMEs: some have been canceled, as the introduction of quota policies in certain procedures or increased levels of mandatory disclosure ; others were held, in the case of the allotment or creation of simplified regulation. Facilitation becomes synonymous of relief procedures, regulatory simplification, and benefits all traders, regardless of size. Why, then, focus the debate on the profit made by all SMEs, alongside the introduction of a discriminant scheme only for innovative SMEs. The break may be not only between SMEs and large companies, but between the SMEs themselves in their access to public markets

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe study of Tunisian Small and Medium-size Enterprises (SMEs) difficulties to access to funds shows that these enterprises experience a “banking integration deficit” that can be explained by credit rationing theory. The reluctance of Tunisian banks to become involved in SMEs' financing is largely explained by the structural and financial characteristics of the Tunisian banking system whereof of the dominance of commercial banks results in a limitation of competition on the financing cost. It is also explained by the weaknesses experienced by Tunisia as regards the sharing information and the creditors legal protection throughout the financing transaction. The empirical verification of Tunisian SMEs' credit rationing on the Tunisian bank credit market is founded on an estimate of a disequilibrium model on the basis of a panel data set of 1760 Tunisian SMEs over the period 2001-2006. Results show that Tunisian SMEs, dependent on bank credit, seek to avoid the call for this source of financing every time they experience an increase in their internal resources or have recourse to trade credit. The very strong risk aversion of banks makes the credit supply decision mainly dependent on real guarantee, and results to an average proportion of 90% - partially or totally - credit rationed enterprises

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis thesis explores the financial and organizational strategies adopted by small businesses in order to conciliate growth and independence. The four chapters present theoretical and empirical contributions to this issue. The first chapter tests the relationship between family control and growth on a large sample of French small businesses. The negative relationship between family control and growth relates to the fact that family controlled small businesses have a higher propensity to adopt patient growth behavior. The second chapter presents a theoretical framework that explains why small businesses hold large amount of cash. The model demonstrates why small businesses, with illiquid growth opportunities, need constituting capital in advance to maintain their growth capacity. The third chapter investigates whether small business groups (SBG) are an organizational strategy that promotes growth. The results show that grouping small businesses promotes small business development, because SBGs improve capital allocation. The last chapter explores entrepreneur motivation to grow the business by building a SBG. According to the results SBGs are built in order to immunize entrepreneur wealth exposure to the business risk, not to increase entrepreneur private benefits of control.

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe main subject of the thesis is to analyse the contribution of the concept of competence to explain the relation between size of the firm and innovation. We analyse the major books of j. A. Schumpeter to put in light that these interpretations of neo-schumpeterians are subject to critics. Taking in account the conceptual coherence between books of schumpeter, we show that the model of "schumpeter i" prevailing. After a review of the theoretical and empirical approaches, a conceptual approach is proposed to elaborate a theory of the firm based on the concept of competence. This perspective is prevalent to explain the variety of innovative behaviour of the firm. Two models are developed. Firstly, we develop a model of innovative behaviour of a firm in function of his repertory of competencies in a dynamical, non-stochastic context. Secondly, we demonstrate mathematically the theory of organisational knowledge creation of nonaka's model [1994]. We propose also to analyse ours results in empirical terms. We show that the model of 'schumpeter i' is refuted and globally big enterprise are more competent to innovate

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe study, both theoretical and empirical, of the s. M. C. Brings out particularly two series of fundamental malfunctionings : - malfunctioning, first of all, within the company itself, defined globally as being gaps between prohibited functioning and real observed functioning. - malfunctioning next on an "internal-external" level from the point of view of the relations between the s. M. C. And its clients. Their capacity to reduce these malfunctionings is of a nature to explain the performance of the s. M. C. S observed. And amongst the former, the manner in which these malfunctionings are taken charge of, allows the explanation of their differentiated performance. Such a representation of the organisation highlights the importance of the relational in the managing of the s. M. According to this hypothesis, the concept of "passion" (affection - principles) appears as a fertile integrating category for encapsulating the life of the organisations. Der volle Inhalt der QuelleEach country deals with the problem of bankruptcy and financial distress. In France, the small and medium size companies are particularly concerned by this situation. In this research, we study the cycle of distress and rescue among this companies. We investigate the role of stakeholders, which take a prominent part in the failing firm. This argument is considered as an important variable during the rescue process, since significant changes in corporate governance occur when firms face bankruptcy. Precisely, thanks to the contractual theory of organizations, we try to explain the reaction and the behaviour of stakeholders during the restructuring period. We then test the hypothesis using a sample of 65 SMEs, which have achieved a reorganization plan. The results of this analysis highlights the role of management and the main determinant of support granted by employees, banks, clients and suppliers

After analysis of tunisien bankruptcy law and government intervention in the ailing firms, the target was to set the macro-economic factors of tunisien small business failure through an econometric model, and to present a typology of the principal micro-economic causes from the results of a survey established within ailing firms managers, business experts and consultants. The default never take place without preventing, various models are used to detect them. The theoretic bases and empiric results of this models have been presented. Nevertheless, they don't give tangible explication to the default. They are not enough to rescue the firm. Other means must be used: diagnostic and turnaround plan. The former allow the identification of strong and weak points of the firm and the default causes as well. The second gives the different mesures that should be taken in order to remedy the difficulties

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe main subject of this thesis is the financing of SMEs in Algeria. It consists of two parts. The first part is devoted to evaluate the phenomenon of the creation of SMEs in Algeria and highlight funding requirements for these units to create jobs and wealth : First, it appears that it again consists of two elements: firstly, participation of SMEs, with significant economic dynamism, even they are going to develop absolutely their productive capacities. Financial strain affects their activities and is the foremost obstacle for most entrepreneurs; then, knowing that the major classical financial theory does not allow us to capture appropriately the choice of financing structure in SMEs, because it does not take into account the size of the company, it appears that modern financial theory contributes greatly to understand this subject. The second part is devoted to the study of Banks – SMEs relations. It appears that the banks are reluctant to get involved in the financing of SMEs is largely explained by the specific structural characteristics of Algerian banking system, whose reform is recent but the development is still limited. Their refusal to credit is also motivated by the regulatory rigidity, flaws of the legal framework, asymmetric information, lack of secure funding. . . In conclusion, we arrived at the fact that Algerian SMEs are indeed rationed in the credit market. Finally, we propose recommendations to reduce the extent of rationing for development of SMEs

Secondly the traditional financial system offers inappropriate ressources. Lastly both systems present insufficient complementarity. Whereas cameroon policy of economic development is based on sme sml growth. Therefore and because of lack of solutions to these problems we can conclure that the policy of development undertaken by the authorities of economic policy has failed

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe issue of financing small and medium-sized enterprises is recurrent all over the world. It is even more worrying in sub-Saharan Africa where the SME sector is the chance to get out of underdevelopment. In Senegal, public authorities have been seeking solutions for several years to improve SMEs' access to bank financing. However, the problem of bank financing remains the main obstacle to the development of SMEs. So, we wondered why Senegalese SMEs encounter so many difficulties in accessing bank financing. The objective of our research is to identify the factors likely to influence the obtaining of bank financing for a Senegalese SME. On the basis of a review the literature, we developed our research hypotheses that we tested using a mixed search method. On the one hand we adopted a quantitative approach by developing a questionnaire submitted to SME managers; on the other hand, we have adopted a qualitative approach by conducting interviews with 10 bank agents and 10 SME managers. The analysis of our assumptions shows the following main results: the existence of strong positive links between the availability of guarantee, the quality of the book-keeping, the size of the SME on the one hand, and the obtaining of bank financing; the adoption of relational financing and the existence of interpersonal relationships favor access to bank financing. Our results support previous studies in other contexts and can be the subject of recommendations to SME managers, banks and the public authorities

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe object of our research is to analyse, from sufficiently large amount of cases chosen in very diversicated activity sectors, the reasons why and for what, the moment when, and the means through which, a small or medium-sized firm internationalizes itself and evolves on foreign markets. We resorted to monographs as well as to questionnaires, in order to bring together the required datas. As for the treatment of those datas, it was mainly done through transversal analysis methods as well as contents analysis (theme analysis and theme concomitances). The study thus carried out makes it possible to draw conclusions which to us seem to be well-founded, among those we have : a change in the Nord-Pas de Calais firms'behaviour as to internationalizing themselves; from a strategy of progressive dynamic towards internationalization they have evolved towards a more open situation, a differentiated influence of factors such as the product itself, the economic environment, the decision-maker's profile, the forms of internationalization etc. Every process is as unique as finger-prints which therefore requires from the public decision-maker a differentiated policy

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleAny diagnostic problem is essentially, but not exclusively, a problem of identif-ying models. Financial diagnosis of small and medium-sized firms is no exception to the rule. It is possible to identify a model more precisely and more systematically starting from a financial analysis. Analyses of small firms obtained using a diachronic approach are the result of a coded representation. This is accepted by analysts who integrate three series of variables for profitability, solvency ans flexibility into a reference system dealing with three time periods : short-term, medium-term and long-term. This standardized image of a small firm is reassuring, but if we look into the matter further it is hot a objective as we might think. The model, which is used to generate data on financial interests, is also a socially involved system. This has been examined concurrently on 3 levels : the diversity of organizationnal types of small and medium-size firms on a cognitive level, the diagnostic analysis itself on an operationnal level and the relationnal level wich takes into account the wide range of attitudes and behavioral patterns of those involved in the firm. Identif-ying models is not the final result, but rather a starting point for discussion, providing a means to analyse the financial and social relationships of the various people involved in a small or medium-sized firm

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis thesis presents a research model that contributes to a better understing of the performance of small and medium business. Specifically, answers are sought to the following questions : How can we explain the differences in the observed economic performance of small and medium business ? Why do entrepreneurs seek to achieve differents objectifs or goals through business ownership ? The proposed model is composed of several variables : orientation of the entrepreneur in terms of his motivations and competencies as measured by the importance attributed to his objectifs and competencies, criteria of performance valued by the entrepreneurs in evaluating the success of their business, family responsabilities, professional experience and individual characteristics (age, gender, education level, marital status). The entrepreneurial performance is the last dimension of the model and is the result of the interaction of all of the other variables in the model. .

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis paper is aimed at the evaluation of the influence of cad-cam (computer assisted design - computer assisted manufacturing) on the strategies of small business enterprises (sbe s). This study requires the definition of a general evaluative model of the influence that a cad-cam program can have on decision strategies within small business manufacturing enterprises. First, this model combines most of the significant dimensions for the analysis of a cad-cam program (the individual, the technology, the economical-financial aspect and the organizational aspect), and secondly, their impact on each step (diagnosis, making and operationalization of the process of strategic decision taking. This evaluative model was experimented within nine sbe s of the quebec industry of machine-finishing workshops having a cad-cam program. The analysis of the data recovered allows us to proceed with a satisfac- tory validation of our fundamental hypothesis, i. E. That the implementation of a cad-cam program within small business manufacturing enterprises has an effect on their strategies. It did not appear evident that the subsidiary hypothesis, which follows was, verifies within the sbe s studied; that the influence of the imple- mentation of a cad-nam program within sbe s is not limited as to their production systems, but influences other functions such as marketing, finances accounting and the management of human resources

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe identification of the middle sized organization as an intermediate firm asks the question of the enterprise's development process. The research of useful concepts in order to help the understanding of the firm's development can be implemented through a transversal approach to the management science, with the using of biological analogy. The evolutionary theory of the firm also integrate the life cycle theory as a level of observation of the organization development. It allows then a better understanding of its components. A model is then developed which study the dynamic relation between age, size and rate of growth of the firm. It is tested on a population of 1427 firms in basse- normandie with the integration of qualitative variables. Different behaviour can be found between growing-stage firms and maturity stage firms
