Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe works presented in this thesis deal with the design and the sizing of magnetic component dedicated to contactless energy transfer for railway application like tramway. This family of component presents a strongly inductive behavior. A double resonance converter is used to supply and compensate reactive energy of transformer. In order to design this component and its associated converter, a design tool has been implemented. This one is based on analytical models of magnetic component and power electronic converter. One time designing realized, a study of losses, in windings and in magnetic cores, is realized by numerical simulation by using homogenization method (macroscopic representation of elements with electromagnetic complex properties). Then, the establishment of a model of thermal behavior of system is presented in order to guarantee desired working temperature. In order to check designing approach and tools, experimentations have been performed on prototypes of 1.6 and 100 kW. Obtained results show the accuracy and relevance of theoretical approach. Moreover, this study confirms the feasibility of this kind of high power system

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe research work carried out in this thesis is part of a context of vehicle electrification in response to environmental concerns. This thesis focuses on the modeling and optimization of commutator machines used in powertrains of small electric vehicles. This kind of machines represents an alternate solution due to their competitiveness, robustness and reliability mainly due to the absence of power electronics. Nevertheless, they require compensation windings and commutation poles to improve their performances. Commutator power supply makes it necessary to take into account electrical dynamics in numerical magnetic modeling by finite elements. That is why, it is crucial to develop a model allowing a strong coupling in the sense of the variational formulation, of magnetic problem, external electrical circuit and finally current flow problem at the commutator interface. In this context, the use of a modeling opensource platform ONELAB has led to the development of an original model that performs projection of physical properties and sources on a fixed mesh. This method avoids remeshing during iterative processes such as geometric optimization or movement modeling. This method has led to the dynamic coupling of the magnetic problem and the external electrical circuit to the current flow formulation at the commutator interface as well as to prospects for multi-physical simulations at this interface. Finally, the choice of an optimization algorithm adapted to the numerical models (black box with a high evaluation cost) allowed the development of a tool for the design of commutator machines adapted to many topologies in order to fulfill industrial requirements

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis thesis presents the design, the modeling and the control of a pneumatic manipulatorbased on an original aerodynamic traction principle. An horizontal air flow is induced by strongvertical air jets in order to manipulate objects without contact. The objects are maintained inconstant levitation on an air cushion. Three degrees of freedom positioning of the objects canbe realized thanks to the right combination of distributed air jets. The design of an originalmanipulator using this aerodynamic principle is detailed. The device has been integrated in anexperimental setup in order to validate the manipulation principle : objects can reach velocityof 180 mm/s. Several models of the system have been established. A first model, based on experimentaldata, gives the evolution of the 1 DOF-position of an object on the device. Twoother models, based on a fundamental aerodynamic study, respectively give the evolution of the2- and 3-DOF position of the objet. The three models have been validated experimentally. Inorder to control the position of the object, different controllers have been designed : a PID oneand a robust H1 one. The control of one and two degrees of freedom of the device gives goodperformances : settling time of around 2 s and overshoot less than 5% in most of the cases. Wehave also studied a micro-manipulator that is able to position millimetric sized objects, in twodirections, thanks to inclined air jets. Objects can reach velocity of 123 mm/s, and the resolutionof the positioning is less than 0.4 μm

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe recent appearance of new materials in road structures associated with surface layers thickness decreasing and the increasing of trucks loading and their passage frequency has led to new pathologies of degradation. In addition to the well-known rutting problems, top down cracking is now appearing as well as problems of decohesion at the interfaces. These new pathologies led to considerable expenditure on the entire network (around 15 billion euros per year), particularly in urbanized areas that are more prone to surface damage and do not make it possible to adequately estimate the lifetimes of the roadway, most often overestimated in current design methods. This doctoral work proposes a new approach of the tire-road contact allowing for better apprehend of the main and residual stresses in a bituminous pavement structure. Using a fast numerical tool based on a semi-analytical approach ("Semi-Analytical Methods" (SAM)), the precise geometry of the tire is integrated in order to obtain a real contact pressure distribution as well as surface shear on the pavement surface. Initially, an elastic tractive rolling contact model is implemented for simple theoretical cases and validated by analytical and numerical results from the literature. Then, this model is extended to take into account the elastoplastic behavior of the bodies in contact. This is compared to a numerical result based on the nite element method from the literature. The application for tire-pavement contact results, show a non-uniform distribution of stresses in the structure and mainly in the rst centimeters below the surface with much higher levels than can be predicted by current models that use a uniformly distributed load. The contact pressure is compared to the measurements made by a system called TekScan and the mechanical elds in sublayers are compared to those of Alizé-LCPC in the case of a simple structure. The surface shears are determined in the case of tractive rolling. An application is carried out on the modeling of surface pavement damage. Firstly, analyzes of the behavior of the surface pavement are carried out for a semi-innite semi-grit asphalt concrete layer supposed to be elastic, homogeneous under conditions of acceleration, braking and turning. For studies on top down cracking, principals deformations and directions are determined and analyzed. Then, the elastoplastic contact model is applied on a semi-innite asphalt agragate layer. Deformations and residuals stresses generated in the structure are determined for an analysis on the instability ruts. Once validated, these results will make it possible to more accurately estimate the residual life of pavements but also to understand and avoid surface or near surfacedegradation mechanisms

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleIn order to guarantee the safety of passengers and aircrafts, numerous studies have been financed in recent years by the aerospace and aeronautics industry in order to characterize experimentally and then numerically simulate the ingestion by the aircraft engines of projectiles. Ice is an example of projectile that can impact aircraft engines during the fly. In this research framework, our work objectives are the high-speed experimental characterization of aeronautical ice and the developpement of a model that will simulate ice impacts on a structure. A synthesis of the various existing research and work on ice makes possible to take stock of the current knowledge of the ice material and to point out its weaknesses, in particular the lack of experimental data on aeronautical ice. Production protocols for different types of ice, sample processing protocol, transport method, electromechanical press test bench and split Hopkinson bars were developed. They make it possible to better understand the behavior of ice at high deformation velocities (influence of microstructure, influence of temperature and influence of deformation velocity). The last part details a model of behavior and general rupture applicable to fragile materials and more particularly to the ice under impact. It is a law of behavior elasto-damagebale with Mazars damage type, associated with modifications of Chuzel for its use in fast dynamics. The method of identifying the parameters of the law from the tests is also presented. The implementation of the law in the commercial code LS-Dyna is validated on simple cases before the numerical results are compared to the experimental results. This comparison has highlighted a defect inherent in the Mazars model of damage. A correction of the model is therefore proposed

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleIn this thesis, the Laser-assisted Atom Probe Tomography is coupled in-situ with a photoluminescence (PL) bench, where the pulsed laser radiation is used to trigger the ion evaporation from the specimens and, simultaneously, to activate the emission from optically active centers present into the material. For this work, two different materials were selected: diamond nano-needles with embed- ded optically active defects (color centers) and a ZnO/(Mg,Zn)O multi-quantum-well (MQW) heterostructure, which contains quantum emitters of different thicknesses. Thanks to this original photoluminescence setup, the influence of the electric field on the fine structure of some color centers, embedded into the diamond nanoneedles, was observed. The first study focused on the neutral nitrogen-vacancy center (NV0), which is one among the most studied color centers in literature. The evolution of the NV0 optical signature, as a function of the applied bias, allowed to evaluate the mechanical stress (> 1 GPa) and the electric-field acting on diamond tips. These results demon- strate an original new method to perform contactless piezo-spectroscopy of nanoscale systems under uniaxial tensile stress, generated by the electric field. This method was applied also on another color center, which nature is still not clear in literature, emitting at 2.65 eV, and more sensitive than the NV0 color centers to the stress/strain field. New results on its opto-mechanical properties were obtained, but its identity still needs to be understood. Since the evaporation field of diamond is really high, the diamond nanoneedles were not analyzed using La-APT. Therefore the coupled in-situ technique was applied in order to study the ZnO/(Mg,Zn)O MQW heterostructure, accessing to the structure, composition and optical signature of the probed specimen in only one experiment. The photoluminescence spectra acquired by the specimen during its ongoing evaporation represents a unique source of information for the understanding of the mechanism of light-matter interaction and the physics of photoemission under high electric field. The correlation of the structural and optical information, related to this MQW heterostructure, demonstrates that the coupled in-situ technique can overlap the diffraction limit of the PL laser and that, as done for the diamond nanoneedles, is pos- sible to estimate the induced-tensile-stress. The results achieved by the in-situ coupling of the La-APT technique with the PL spec- troscopy show that such instrument is an innovative and powerful technique to perform research at the nanometric scale. For this reason, this work can open new perspectives for a deeply understanding of the physicics related to the studied systems in parallel with the continuous enhancement of the experimental setup
